Taz good luck with toilet training Indie. I've only just started to think about training Alex he does love to sit on the potty but may try him on the toilet.
Orlanda is doing so well. That's a good weight gain.
We have our 8wks appt with the CYN next week also we have the 2months neddles to do. I'm having Eleanor and Kimberley done at the same time as she needs her 4yrs one.
Well i am so proud of myself i think i have done a wonderful job on my own. The kids are already for bed and now i am just waiting for bedtime then i can hopefully have a little me time. DH will be back home tomorrow night but it's been a long day with not having anyone to talk too.
Michelle.... it'sonly 10past 5;) I havent even thought about whats for tea yet:p Good for you, enjoy your me time and have some Taz time too cos i wont be getting any (me time that is).
O had her injections today too, i was really really really dreading it, in my minds eye i could see her little lip quiverring before she started screaming, in reality the nurse was one side, doc the other and they counted down 3,2,1 then both stabbed her with the needle at the same time, by the time she had taken a deep breath ready to scream the nurse had the bubbles out and the scream stopped as soon as it had started as she laughed at the bubbles. Plus they had her sat on my knee facing away from me so i couldn't see her face or pass on "scardy mum vibes" to her.
I feel alot less teary now thats over.
Diane and I are having a day at the camping and caravan show tomorrow, lets hope its a bit less hot.
Keep up the good work and you can always talk to yourself, at least you know you're listening:p
Taz
Taz I'll have some me time for you as well. I now have all 3 of them asleep and it's only 6pm. I bet for that they will allbe up early but that's okay it will save me rushing getting us ready in the morning.
Have fun at the camping and caravan show tomorrow i think it's only going to be a little cooler tomorrow.
How was your me time last night them michelle? should i feel all relaxed? actally i did have some time last night, we all went in the pool when John came home. O was shattered because she hadn't had a chance to nap all day so she had a sleep in her swing by the pool while we all cooled off a bit. Then i got to watch Mcleods Daughters while we had a feed and some cuddly time. After all that she went down at around 10 and woke up at 5.30:clap: .
Tha caravan and camping show was great, i now soooo want a jayco camper trailer before the boys re too old to enjoy it.... pity we're skint. Orlanda was a gem even though it was really hot.
I hope you are taking advantage of hubby being home.
Taz
Yay for hubby being home Michelle:)
Last night I was so tired I decided to skip Georgias evening feed before I went to bed and she slept till 4:45! SHe had her last feed at around 6pm. I'm going to try again tonight and see how we go. Fingers crossed!
Hope everyone is well.
I can't beieve how super organised you were while DH was away Michelle!
Taz do you go camping alot? Whats it like with the kids?
That was a nice long sleep Rachel, fingers crossed for tonight. Orlanda went down at 930 and woke up at 615, that in my book is definitely a full nights sleep, i hope thats not just a reaction to her injections. The injections they get now are different to when myothers had theirs, main difference is the polio one. Has anyone else noticed a change in the poo smell after the injections. O's poos were the usual inoffensive BF baby poo smell but yesterday and today....... whoa.... not nice at all!!
Rachel..... i'm not really a camper to be honest, but seeing some of these camper trailers and caravans makes me want to be. WE went camping (in a tent) when Indie was a few months old and it was good, but sharing toilets and sleeping on a blow up bed just don't do it for me, but i think a camper trailer would be the ideal compromise, the kids get the freedom of a camping holiday (as a kid i loved them) and we get a bit more comfort and facilities (especially if we get an en suite pitch) and its easy to tow and means you don't all have to sit in the car with all your camping gear packed round you....... But my husband doesn't agree and says he would rather just stay in an apartment somewhere.
Taz i am getting Eleanor's injections done next week. Will let you know if her poos change but they can't get any worse than they are at the moment.
I wish Eleanor would sleep that well. She slept great from 4pm till 10pm but that was it till 1.30am and then she was back up at 4.30 and then 7am.
Rachel i can't believe how well i did when DH was away and with him being back last night the house was awful. I did better on my own LOL
Other than the strange sleeping patterns Eleanor is doing really well and since changing her formula she's not been sick much she just dribbles it out now.
rachele and taz,wow congrats on the great sleep.that is wonderful, harry had a few wakeful nights ,last night he did well,he slept till 4 am then up at 7.30.not bad!he has been sleeping most of the morning for me also.he goes down very late at night though,we dont get any time to ourselves as he seems to have the witching hour from about 8 till 10 or 11.
michelle that is great that she is not vomiting any more, must be soooo much better for you both.
i agree that life is sooo much easier and less chaotic when dh is not at home.
nikki
How is everyone going ?
We just moved Eleanor in to her own room so hopefully i will get a better nights sleep as she makes all kinds so sounds during the night.
She's slept well for the last couple of nights only woke once for a feed.
That's great Michelle. My MIL in cooming to stay end of March so when she leaves i'll put Georgia into her own room.
The last two nights she has been waking at 2 and then 1 am. I don't know why. Maybe she's having a growth spurt.
Hope everyone is well :)
I'm glad everyones sleeping is getting better. O was asleep by 830pm, well maybe earlier as i was in the spa by 8.30pm and she woke up at 5am, pretty good stuff.
I'm not having such a great time of it, we're having stress with my parents, I've spent the last few weeks trying to persuade them to move here, just thought i'd managed it too and my brother turns up yesterday to tell me they aremoving back to scotland in a months time.
It's a long and complicated story and to be honest we don;t see much of them, infact SIL only met O for the first time last week when i bumped into her in the supermarket. But my kids are really upset that they are going back and that they haven't spent any time with them since they have been here (6 months).
Taz i am so sorry to hear that your family will not be staying. It's hard when they want to go back and that they haven't spent much time with the kids. I hope you are able to change their minds.
Rachel have fun when your MIL arrives. I'm still waiting for the day that mine says she can afford to visit i think then i will go and move States LOL
I just took Kimberley and Eleanor for their imunisations they both did really well.
I hope i'll have fun. MIL in a crazy old women and i'm not really looking forward to it :( She lives in Mackay and has only seen Cassie twice. Once when she was born and once when she was two. I mean come on, my Mum has seen her more and she lives in England! I'm glad though - cause she's looney but it upsets DH.
The last time she was here she got drunk and told me I had ruined DS childhood. I just took it but I won't thins time. Although I think maybe I should as I probably won't see her again for a long time and it will only upset DH more.
Oh well, she's only here for 5 days, wish me luck!
hey all
sorry have been mia.
well nicholas had his needles last week he is such a brave boy he cried for 30 seconds and thats it. im so proud of him. he went to bed last night at 11 pm and woke up for a feed at 6:00 after his fix of the wiggles. he is smiling all the time now and is so close to crawling he lifts his bottom, legs and tummy of the floor and moves his head as well.
we have changed formula to s26 ar: for babies with reflux. what a difference i get maybe one spew a day compared to 10.
just a quick question, is everyone elses babies number 2s hard like ours (sorry only way to describe it).
i found out my sister is pregnant so that means im gonna be an aunty. im so happy for her and her husband.
You are not going to believe how stupid i am last week brought some nappies from toys r us that was on special. I opened the box and thought they looked big for Eleanor well i only brought the wrong size these ones are the crawlers ones. At least i still have some newborn ones left and managed to go and get the right size today.
Rachel i hope the time with your MIL isn't to bad.
Eleanor slept from 9pm till 6.30am. She did stir at around 4.30am but went back to sleep as soon as i sorted her a bottle out. But all that sleep did come with a horrible time from 3pm till 9pm she wouldn't settle and we had to sleep her in the bassinette in the cot up on a book. Not sure if she had a tummy upset or just being plan grumpy as she slept really well yesterday morning and we was in and out for a while yesterday as well.
Michelle you dope! At least you'll have some nappies for when she grows! I'm so glad you had a better sleep although sometimes you don't mind waking up once if it means an easy time early evening.
PM2B - Georgias poos are still quite runny and very smelly. Sometimes they are different colours though and since she is on formula I don't really get that!
Taz, sorry about your parents moving back, mine are still in UK and I know how hard it is (Michelle does too). It's horrible for them to miss out but the kids have a much better life here. I know if we moved back it would be near impossible to buy a house and I would really worry about the kids growing up in the UK to be honest, it's sad though :(
rachel,love your ticker pic.
nikki
Rachel that is a lovely picture of your ticker.
I've been thinking about moving back to the UK since my brother died but like you i know we wouldn't be able to buy a house and the kids won't have the same lifestyle as they do now. I love the fact you can wake up and know they can spend the day outside.
Nikkin How are things going with you and Harry ?
Taz how are you ?
How is everyone doing ?
Hi guys,
We're doing well ")
Georgia is getting a bit of a routine. She sleeps in the morning at about 10 for usually about 4 hours which is great. Only if I put her on her tummy though (bad, I know). It scares me and I check her ALL the time but it's the only way she'll sleep in the day. Nights are good and she wakes either once or not alt all!
How is everyone else?
Rachel that is great news that Georgia only wakes once at night. I've had to put Eleanor on her side to sleep as it's been the only way and if i had to i would sleep her on her tummy. I think we do what is best for us.
Eleanor has been waking just once a night which is great but it can sometimes take anything from 30mins to 3hrs to get her back to sleep. Last night she went back to sleep fine as i was in the room with her. I think maybe she likes the company as when ever i give up and do that she falls asleep.
Rachel how does Georgia do when you do the school run ?
Eleanor falls asleep for 5 mins in the car and is great getting her in and out when we drop Kimberley at kindy.
It's a real pain :)
We get everyone in the car, then out the car at Daycare. Then Paul and Georgia back in the car and then out at school. Then Georgia back in to go home or wherever. It's only twice a week we stop at Daycare though. She sleeps fine in the car but she cries when we get her in and out :(
How do you have your car? What do you have? We have a Falcon and I have a baby seat gor Georgia in the middle and either side, a big booster seat for Cassie, and one that is just a bottom seat for Paul. They JUST fit!!! It's a pain as I have to lean over the seat to get G out and it's hard to get the right angle, luckily she's getting used to being yanked out unceremoniously!
That picture of Eleanor is soo cute!
I have a Kia Carnival and Eleanor sits behind me and Kimberley and Alex sit at the back. I've taken the other seat next to Eleanor out so i can get in and out of the car and get the other two in. I also get Eleanor out that way as well. I do look funny getting in and out of the car. No idea what i look like to others when they watch me do it at the school.
I didn't realise till the other day that Cassie was born in the same month and year as Kimberley.
Thank you re the picture.
Oh yeah! It's a shame your not closer :)
A big car must be so much easier. The Falcon is ok though. We almost bought a Focus as I really like them but i'm soo glad I didn't now!
What car does everyone else have?
all is well here.we have a toyota prado 4wd.tis good as it is an 8 seater.i have the 2 babies behind our front seats, the boys usually jump into the back, not much room in the boot part though.michelle elenor is georgous
nikki
things fine here thanks. Orlanda is just great. She sleeps from 8ish to 4ish then is back down in 20 mins and sleeps till i get up. she likes a big sleep in the morning too but only in her swing or hab. one problem is the car..... she hates it big time. within 5 mins she screams and screams, she doesn't even scream herself to sleep just gets into a real state. it makes driving really stressful.
Taz hope Orlanda stops screaming in the car for you soon.
I'm taking Eleanor to the doctors tomorrow i need to sort out which is the best formula to give her. If i use a none AR formula she throws it up, S26 AR makes her a little sick, karicare AR a tiny amount of sick but runny poos all the time and it's made her have really bad nappy rash. The S26 AR she had normal poos but just wasn't settled so i really don't know what to do for the best anymore.
I have tried 5 different formulas.
michelle i hope the dr can shed some light, poor eleanor!!!!maybe changing them so often is not giving her time to adjust to it?just an idea!
harry is doing well,he is completlty bottle fed with formula now,i feel a bit sad as i breast fed chantelle for 15 months right up to the day i went in to hospital to have harry but he is thriving and i guess that is most important.he is still sleeping well at night with 1-2 wakes, some days he can be a rat bag during the day though,he has just started to lie on the floor for short periods entertaining himself,i bought a musical/light play gym off ebay so hopefully he will like it and lie under that for some time during the day,he gave us his first smile this week also,he is overdue for his 8 week needles, just cant seem to get out of the house with 4 kids in tow.
nikki
Nikki I've kept Eleanor on each formula that i have tried for at least 2wks other than the one i tried today and she only took 25mls before throwing it all up. Hopefully the Dr will help tomorrow as i think she is lactose and it's only just started.
I'm changing a runny nappy 7-10times a day and not much in it is wee.
I hope Harry has fun with his new toy. Which formula are you using ?
How is Chantelle with Harry ?
I'm having to watch Alex very carefully with Eleanor as today he hit her head with the coner of a book.
I got Eleanor to the doctors first thing instead of waiting till tonight.
They are treating her for reflux and thrush. She had started to stop taking her formula she has only taken 200mls in 15hrs.
Poor little Eleanor :( Thrush, what have they given her? I think CAssie had thrush when she was little too :(
Did they give you an answer on which formula?
michelle, ouch on the book, chantelle is great with harry, she really loves him but i too have to always watch her with him.she doesnt seem to understand that she can be too rough with him at times, one day i heard a muffled scream and ran in to find her sitting on his head.she thought it was a good little chair.
poor harry.
poor eleanor.harry had really bad thrush a few weeks ago and was very fussy with his food, infact that is when he decided he didnt want to breastfeed anymore,it must have been hurting his mouth as he had to suck harder than he does with the bottle.
he is on s26 gold.
chantelle had reflux also but not near as bad as eleanor.she ended up going on s26 AR for her night time feed and i prepered a teaspoon of food thickener and put that in her mouth before her breastfeeds during the day on advice from the dr.she grew out of it after a couple of months.
what formula has he suggested for her
nikki
Nikki - Eleanor's thrush is down below on her vigina it's from the awful poos she has been dping. The doctor said to keep her on the Karicare AR as it's one of the best formula's and give her the losec and for the thrush twice a day i have to use canesten and sigmacort the rest of the nappy changes i have to use vaseline.
Hopefully she will start to improve i feel like such a bad mum leaving her like this for so long.
michelle you DID NOT leave her like this for so long, you were not ignoring her problems.you were doing the best you could with the amount of information you had.you are definanlty not a bad mum,a bad mum is a woman who could not give a damn and left there baby to suffer always.
i hope things improve for her now.let us know.
nikki
Thanks Nikki.
I know in my heart I'm not a bad mum I'm just having one of those emotional days. It should have been my brothers birthday and I've been awake since 4am and also watching Eleanor in pain everytime she was going to the poo is just awful.
Michelle, you are not a nurse, you couldn't have known. When Cassie was 1 she had a cold and a chesty cough, I didn't think it was anything serious. The next thing I know she is in hopital with Pnuemonia :(
You care and that is what makes you a good mum.
It must be so hard for you today, I'm thinking of you.
Ok, re-read that and it DOES sound kike i'm a bad Mum LOL! We did take her to the Dr and he said there was nothing wrong! Then she had trouble breathing so we took her to the hospital.
LOL Rachel i knew you would have taken DD to the doctors.
Eleanor is still doing horrible poos but not as many as she was and she is setteling so much better at night now. The doctor did say her tummy was full of gas.
