Oooo... Maz, Carol, anyone with older kids or in fact, ANYBODY! If Billy is sleeping an extra hour in between each feed does that mean he will be awake more during the day?
The MCHN told me to look for tired signs and that he should only really be awake for like 1.5 hours including feeding time, then go down again. The GP told me to ignore his crying if I can and then go in and pat him to calm him down and then walk out. Should he be in bed or not? He fed at 1.20am, then 6.30am and doesn't want to go back to sleep even though his eyes were shutting and then he slept for like 20 minutes but woke up screaming again. It's like he's ok if I'm in the room then he cracks it when I leave. I don't want to get into the habit of holding him until he sleeps or staying with him until he sleeps. I've had no problems with this until the past couple of days.
Should I get him out of bed? What do I do then? I find if he stays awake too long then he won't sleep as he's over tired.
I am exhausted for no apparent reason. I have my 6 week check on Friday and she's going to have to check my blood levels and iron etc. I'm hoping she finds they are not good so they can give me something to make me feel better. I know tiredness is normal but I'm getting MORE tired, not less and he's sleeping MORE and I'm doing less.
Where is the book that tells you when they should be awake and when they should sleep and what the hell you're doing wrong?
I've been spoilt because he's been so good up until now. I remember someone telling me that they had this baby who never cried and slept when he was meant to etc then he hit two months old and went psycho and unsettled. Maybe Billy's changing?
:wall::wall::wall:
Sorry.

Kate hon let him sleep and get some yourself woman! thats an order!!! Dont worry about the time thing...let him lead the way. Mateauz slept from 6 last night until 1.30am, I jsut wish he would have thought of it at 10pm instead.
OMG he's 8 weeks old today!!!!!!!!!!!
And I finally have a pic of him smiling to share

hi mummies!
Aaawwww Maz, he looks sooo happy! Too cute. Is his hair a reddy brown?
Kate, Dont worry hun, you will get past this phase: maybe it is a wonder week thing? I BF full time and I have fast flow problems too! It is horrible watching them struggle with wind but I'm sure between the two of you, you will get it sorted out. Hope you have a happier day today :) Actually Celeste is screaming in my arms right now!
Hi Bindy!!!!! I was from the other group too! Dont feel left out, cause there is so many in here sometimes I think ppl find it hard to reply to all.
Jess, WTG on the shopping! I reeaaaallly need new clothes too. Only have like 3 thngs that fit any good and they are worn out. I feel soo ugly.
Jen, you sound so much happier now. Glad its all working out for you.
Jo, i cant see the new pics either....
-
Kate- We are like you during the day. We cannot get her to go down and settle. We put her down after a feed and burping and then leave her. If she cries we go in, pat her, rock the basinette, put the dummy in and go when she is sort of settled again. Then like 10 minutes later she will cry and we go through the whole process again. This happens every time we go to put her down during the day. We try holding her til she is asleep... which I dont like doing, we try looking for the tired signs, we let her cry for a little bit. But if she cries I dont like letting her cry for too long. That screaming they do makes me feel so bad and I cry then like I am being a bad mum.... During the night she is different. She will take sometime to go down initially but when she has her night feed we put her straight back down and she goes back to sleep.
Last night Amber was down from 9-4 then from 430 til 8. Thats like 11 hours. So I guess I cannot complain if she is up during the day but it would be nice to read that manual.
Bindy- I am so sorry if you feel left out. I dont really belong in this thread anyway seeing as my girl is a Feb girl..... Please come back often. Its good to read how everyone is going.
Sazz- I need to shop again too. I have these old clothes which make me look frumpy and yuck. I need to get rid of this wobbly tummy before any clothing though.
Maz- Awww Mat is so cute. His hair looks a little like my girls. Red heads are taking over the world! Good sleeping for your little guy too.
Hello to Carol, Tiff, Mary, Mel, Tasch, Karen, Jess, QM and everyone else I have missed....
-
Bindy - I had been looking for you in this thread so you were noticed as not here! Come on back. Like one of the other mums said there are so many of us at times its difficult to respond to all:) Doesn't mean you are invisible okay. You know what its like sometimes you get in here & you know you might not have much time so you're in a hurry, lol. Glad to hear Maddy is doing well:) And pls let us know how her needles went okay? My bub will be getting his next wk & I'm not looking forward to it either!! :( Wish DH would take him in!
Kate - everyone is different re; sleeping. Some mums will let their bubs cry it out a little. Because bubs do grumble a bit anyway when they sleep! My Jackson will cry out in his sleep at times & just as I walk down the hallway to check him & pick him up he stops! If he were right next to me I would've picked him up! So sometimes having them to close to you while they sleep isn't a good thing- you can jump the gun, lol. But I'm talking about a burst of crying then back to sleep not crying to the point of 'distress'. Sometimes he is still crying when I reach him then I pick him up & hold him close for a minute then a big burp!! then down he goes & stays for awhile!:) I dont let my baby cry on &on though! But thats me &my way as I said mums are dif'. Let your bub lead the way is my advice. Certainly dont race in if you hear a cry, take a bit of extra time in case he stops & goes back to sleep.
Jen - Like you Jackson sleeps well at night once we get him down intitially! But during the day I too might hold him or feed him to sleep then lay him down & a few min's later hes up again!! I'm just patient I s'pose 2nd time 'round. It is frustrating of course, wont deny that, lol. We'll all tackle this problem dif' or else our bubs will just work it out themselves. Mums are just v. comforting to their bubbies is all:)
Uh bub is stirring again. Sorry no more personals from me today. Hello to all I didn't get around to mentioning!!

Hi Everyone,
I am jealous of all you girls who got to go retail shopping after bubs... I had to spend my baby bonus on bills 4 kids = big bills!!! Plus my car broke so I had to get another **** box. As soon as I finish my postgrad and get a decent job I am buying a brand new car :D
I constantly have anxieties of bits and pieces of my car falling off while I am driving or my doors flying open while driving because they won't lock properly like my last car!!! it was a nightmare. I was so happy when the wrecker came to take it away - the first thing I asked the tow truck guy was whether they were going to total it. I wanted to take a baseball bat to that car!!! Unfortunately someone else gets to
All you girls having probs with bub exposing you in public because they [baby] haven't quite gotten it yet, Keep persisting with it. It take ages to establish breast feeding and it takes real patience and determination on mummy's part. My third son was the only one out of my children who took to the breast like a duck to water... downside he woke to feed every hour esp. the night feeds. U can't have the best of both worlds I guess. So I have had breast feeding issues 3 out of 4 times that have luckily (emphasis on the word luckily) resolved themselves and have breastfed my 3 boys till they were 12 months.
Damn presentation to prepare for on Friday got to go.
Hugs to everyone

Hi everyone!
Amy had her shots this morning and it was one of the most awful things i've experienced. her cry was so painful to me.....but she's fine now. gave her some panadol and am now going to put her down for a sleep. i'm ready to give her lots of cuddles if she needs them tho.
just a question.....with ff, what do u do if they won't take a full bottle?? i'm sposed to start giving her 180 ml as of now but i'm flat out getting her to take 120ml!! she usually only takes about 90 ml. i'm so confused.
Maz - Amy only weighs 4.35 kg and she was 3.3 at birth, so she's really little too.....doesn't pile on the grams every week....i have to try not to stress about it tho...i'm doing the best i can!! mat looks so gorgeous! i can't wait for Amy to smile. everyone keeps telling me to be patient cos she was prem....
Saz - thanks (hehe i'll tell mark you gave him a compliment hehe)
Jo - Sophie is such a cutie. i keep an eye on your pics on facebook hehe
Kate - i wish my bbs worked too. i totally understand what u mean about bub being unsettled after a bottle. i really feel for you. amy had a bad day the other day where i had to hold her all day. sure cuddles r nice but when thy're grizzling and you're hungry and tired it starts to wear thin. i hope things have improved today xxx amy's sleeps totally vary. i don't bother timing them. i just feed ger when she wants and try to put her down as soon as the feed is finishe if she's grizzly. if not i just sit and play with her (i don't read to her cos she gets bored and wriggles, i just put her on her playmat) and then as soon as she gets grumpy i try to pt her down. that can take forever sometimes tho! it's so hard to know what's normal!!!
Bindy -hope the needles went ok today. sounds like our bubs are at either end of the spectrum!!!
Karen - our baby bonus is paying our bills too that my wage would normally pay. no fun here for me either! good luck with the presentation :D
well better go have some lunch xxxxluv nik and amy
-
Hi everyone
Nik: I hated seeing Bodie crying when he had his shots too. It is awful seeing them like that. He wasn't too bad though, fell asleep on the way home which was good.
With the FF bottles, i've got Bodie on 180mls but sometimes leaves about 30mls left. You can always make up the 180mls in 1 bottle then poor the 60mls into another bottle for a top up later?
Jess: Sounds like your back into the shopping again hehe. I love shopping too, especially for cute lil boys clothes. And it's nice spoiling yourself too.
Bodie's been smiling alot now too which is so adorable. When i start talking to him, sometimes he makes goo noises like he's trying to talk. Love it!
Sorry for the lack of personals ladies, gotta go get some housework done while Bodie's asleep. Hope you are all well xo
-
Hi lovelies!
Maz - awesome pic of Mat! He looks SO happy. :)
Nik - love your pics too and oh, I'm with Sazz (if you don't mind) - Mark's very nice looking! ;)
Maz, I did what you said and had a little nap this morning when Billy had a lay down. I feel HEAPS better now. I was trying to cut down my coffee intake too and I reckon that's making me tired. I've been drinking far too much but hey, if that's my only addiction, I reckon I'm doing alright. Are you going to be around Friday/Saturday? I think I might be coming up... Will call you anyway. Billy has a bit of a rash like Mateauz's... a hormone rash is it? hmmm.. cool. Now I know!
Jen, I was having a big cry yesterday thinking what a bad mum I was being for letting him cry then telling him to be quiet! I don't like to let him cry for too long but can't go in there every single time he makes a noise - like Carol said, sometimes he stops before I get there anyway.
Bindy - how did Madeleine's needles go? I am NOT looking forward to that.
Carol - thank you. It's nice to hear I'm not doing it wrong! It's just a real guessing game sometimes.
Nik, poor Amy and her needles. I'm going to cry taking him to get those. Billy sometimes doesn't drink all his formula either. I am putting in 150ml water plus 5 scoops of NAN. I think the scoops are smaller than the other formula but it makes up about 170ml. He doesn't usually drink it all. Sometimes he'll have 100ml. Sometimes I sit with him for a while and see if he wants any more. I heard you can let it sit there for up to an hour then it's no good. He really cracks it when he doesn't want any more though. He definitely lets me know. I guess they take what they need, right?
Karen - my baby bonus went on bills also. However, I have still managed to do some shopping for Billy.
Hey Jen, don't you think all the girls should move to Melbourne? I reckon. Then we can all go out.
Oh, by the way, I texted Mel. She's been flat out but all well and says to say hello! Tiff also.
Thanks for making me feel better, all of you. Just one of those days/weeks I think.
Going to make some phone calls that I've been putting off. No biggie, just haven't been wanting to talk to anyone, iykwim.
Back later.
x
ETA: Hi April!!!
-
OMG - Jen, he's in the Baby Bjorn and he's not screaming his head off!
Not yet anyway. pmsl
His arms aren't in the right bits. They are in front of him on my chest. Is that ok?
Woo hoo!

Afternoon girls, havent been on today yet as cleaners were here and then was playing with Sophie between feeds and shes just gone down again for a sleep. I'm not sure why you girls cant see the photos on my webpage i just tried viewing my webpage without being signed into it and went to photos of Sophie and i could see them, if it still doesnt work they are on my Facebook.
Jen- Little girls are cute but its hard not to be biased
Kate- BIG  for you,i'm sorry your having such a difficult time with the bottles and i hope you find a brand that BTK can get a handle of. Take Jen up on the offer of retail therapy. I let Sophie sleep for 5hrs between each feed if shes still asleep, i feed her when shes hungry, if shes awake and hungry after 3 or 4hrs then i feed her. I hope you got some rest this morning after you posted.
Maz- No worries just glad you got the DVD, at the kids driving you nuts with it **contemplated moving house so Maz cant find me** haha. My sisters drive me barmy with 'down at fraggle' rock every time i see them as we watch a few episodes. Can i view your stuff for sale on ebay? please... Your picture of little Matty is gorgeous he looks a happy boy.
Bindy- im so sorry that you feel left out here, your most welcome here please dont think we done it on purpose. Sometimes i just forget who posts what which is why at the moment i have two windows open trying to catch up. Good to hear Madeleine is going well, hope the needles went ok and she wasnt too unsettled for you afterwards and shes already into "00" wow!! growing girl!.
Nik- I asked my SIL the exact same question last night about what to do if Sophie doesnt finish the bottle and she said same as EBM you can keep it in the fridge for up 24hrs, im not sure how many times it can be reheated i was told with EBM i could reheat it twice HTH. Thanks, shes very cute and getting to be very cheeky too, I've noticed you leaving a few comments on my photos on Facebook, Amy has so much hair!!.
April- Sophie makes noises, smiles at me and tries to giggle when i talk to her, so cute.
Karen- Doesnt sound like you've had a good run with cars. What happened to your last car??, by the sounds of you wanting to take to it with the baseball bat it cause you alot of trouble.
Well i'm off to watch the cricket and do some crocheting (making another blanket) while my Madam is sleeping.
Hello Mel, Tiff, Carol, QM and anyone my mummy brain is missing.
-
Hi there,
Kate - it's fine if his arms aren't hanging out. Amy sometimes has one out and the other one in. As long as they're comfortable who cares!? Funny comment on Mark. Will have to tell him he's popular with the bb ladies! hahahha.
thanks for the comments on the formula issues. will just keep at it. Am still trying to bf but have been very empty yesterday and today oh well. Gotta go, Amy's just woken up. Luv ya all!! Nik and Amy xxx
-
My DD is feeding every 2 hours today and not sleeping for more than an hour max so she will be very tired today. I wonder if she is getting enough to fill her up. My bb's feel soft but as soon as I squeeze the nipples something comes out so who knows... They only ever get hard after 4+ hours between feeds.
Kate- YAY on the baby bjorn. Amber is the same, she gets her arms tucked up in front of her chest and goes to sleep there. When we go shopping we can baby bjorn it! You are being a great mum too. Whoever says parenting is easy is kidding themselves. Its hard enough trying to work out why they are crying and I am still clueless on that. He has settled so that is a good thing.
Nik- I am dreading taking Amber for her needles. They did her needles at birth in front of DP and me and she screamed. I hear the needles make them tired but then they may be unsettled for a couple of days afterwards. Your Mark is definately a hit on here.
Carol- Hello there! I hope your little man and girl are treating mummy kindly today. Like you I cannot let my girl cry for too long. But we dont rush in there as soon as we hear a noise.
Karen- Hopefully your new car is more reliable.
Jo- We have introduced Amber to the cricket and DP has already bought her an AFL membership to North Melbourne. She will be a sporty kid. I cannot wait til my girl smiles properly and starts to laugh. Sure beats crying.
April- I forgot to ask. You got those vibrating feet for the cot. How does Bodie go with them?
My girl is down again but for how long? If we go by todays average it will be an hour.
-
hello everyone!
been out for most of the day 2day lol, bought a new phone, OMG im in love hahaha! bright purple and just so good lol.. and took a few things back and swapped sizes... AND ordered a new computer, YAY, i hate this computer, so slow... and paid some fines, so after i get the computer, theres all the baby money gone lol... oh well it got heaps of stuff...
sorry no time for many personals, jaylens still sleeping and will wake soon for a feed, so im going to have something to eat!
hope BTK is being better for u kate! i really think its formula that makes them unsettled, are u still giving him a bit of bb? cuz i bought them blackmores BFing tablets u said u were having and they made him SOOOO unsettled, like absolutly SCREAMING for a few hours
jen, jaylen was feeding every 1 n a half to 2 hours this morn... its like how could u be possibly hungry lol... im really going to try and keep going with BFing.. so much easier... and hes so much more settled on bb milk lol... he sometimes needs a topup on formula but yer
i need to get a baby bjorn, where do u get them?
hello everyone else!!
-
Nik- no problem for the advice on the formula :).
Jen- Sophie is feeding similar today every 2hrs and shes only leaving 10-30mls except the last feed at 3pm when she left 100mls from 170mls before shed had enough and shes been awake more today than usual, but shes not screaming just playing on her activity gym and laying in her bouncer "watching" the cricket with me. I havent bought Sophie a membership to the Parramatta Eels as i'm not a member as we live in QLD but i have bought her a Eels t-shirt but its a size 2 (i think) so she wont fit into it for quite a while yet it was the only size they had at the time. Anything beats bubs crying and Sophie smiling, making her noises and trying to giggle just melts my heart and its SO cute. Amber in time will giggle/smile and make noises. SIL thinks Sophie will be an early crawler because shes been trying to crawl since about 2 weeks (the 1st time she had tummy time) and she also thinks Sophie will be on solids early too but i'll wait and see i'm not going to get my hopes up.
Kate- we have our 6 week check up on the same day haha, we chose friday more so because Chris can have the morning off work and then go in after our appointment.
Jess- any baby shop should sell the baby bjorns or similar.
OMG how long does the new medicare card take to get send, mine took 5 weeks FINALLY showed up today i was ready to have words with Medicare if it hadnt arrived by friday. The baby bonus arrived quicker for christ sake grrr sorry just needed to get that off my chest.
-
Hmmm Jo. My medicare card came yesterday and the baby bonus is scheduled to come by Friday. I wonder why yours took longer. Its so cool having a medicare card with your babies name on it. Yours will be like mine where Sophies surname is different to yours... for now. :)
Amber is sleeping and has been doing so for 2 hours now YAY. Will give my BB's some time to fill up hopefully. I would really like my milk to stay good for awhile too.
Jess- Go the spending! I got my baby bjorn from ebay 2nd hand. It still works great. DP actually had a go in it the other day. But you can get them new from baby shops.
-
Jess I've got a no name baby carrier, not a baby bjorn and it does the trick. lots cheaper.....theyre quite expensive brand new.....
jen - amy hasn't been paticularly tired.....just a little unsettled.....i took her bandaids off earier and she really didn't like that but they're not good for baby skin.....felt bad though
i'm lonely tonight but don't want company iykwim? amy's got a bit of a temp so have nuded her up and given her panadol. she seems much happier.....quiksilver pro finished today so i get my husband back tomorrow! Yay! i felt a bit jealous today cos he's at the closing party and i'm stuck at home. babies really don't have that much of an impact on the dad's life do they......except for all the good bits!! sorry throwing a bit of a pity party here! hehe....i need a nap!
hope you're all doing well xxx luv nik and amy
-
Nik - "pity party" - PMSL! I love that. Nah, I'd be jealous too. Oh and you're right, bubs hardly make an indent on their lives as they know it, day to day. They get all the good bits though! I hope you weren't offended by me saying Mark was good looking. Me and my big mouth! Sometimes it's nice to be at home just with bub I reckon. I hope your night is good and hope Amy feels better soon.
Billy just won't put his arms out where they should be so that's good that Amy does it too. As long as he's comfy I guess. :) He stayed in there for a bit today but then we both got too hot! Of course he woke up as soon as I put him back to bed... he spent the rest of the arvo dozing in his rocker and came outside to throw the ball to Ocean.
I fed him just before Michael got here and of course, he falls asleep like a little angel in front of daddy! Typical!
So Mark's into the surfing in a big way then? Not just a spectator. I had one of the Rip Curl dudes living with me when I was in Torquay. He was from France and travelled with the Pro. They had a GREAT life! He was the one who sourced all the locations etc. What a job!
Jess - Jesus! You go girl. And we thought you did a lot of shopping BEFORE! he he he... Must've been lots of fun. Good for you! Sorry about those vitamins. Billy's not having bb's any more. I gave up! I wonder if they were doing that to him? Hmmm...
Jo - too funny. Same dob for our bubs and same dr's appointments. Maybe we have some weird, psychic connection. pmsl! I hope yours goes well. :) Thanks for the hug. :)
Jen - yeah, the Baby Bjorn shopping safari! Lovely! Amber will have a long sleep tonight if she's been unsettled all day, surely. Billy hasn't even changed position or spat his dummy out since he went down this afternoon. He must be buggered. He never sleeps with his dummy in.
I don't have my medicare card yet! What's the deal? I did only send in the registration of birth thing today though. Would that matter? I sent the medicare thing off ages ago, before the baby bonus stuff. Well, no, hang on, I took it into Centrelink. Am I thinking of the right form? Fark. So much paperwork for such a little person!
Well, I'm going to scrub the bath tub as I bathed Ocean in there today and there is fur everywhere! Poor thing. She had little dreddies on her back. I'm a bad fur baby mummy... I'm sure she would've preferred never to have a bath again but I reckon she looks much happier and she smells heaps better!
I'll be back later.
Lots of love.
x

Jo - just had a look at your facebook. Awesome pics. Are there meant to be newer ones that Feb 28th of Sophie? I thought I saw someone said that somewhere or something or I've lost it... :wall: pmsl
:)

Hi Girls.
Here I am Maz... I have to say I was feeling a bit like Bindy in the 'they won't even notice I'm not there' department... Everyone seems so close & to know what's going on with eachother so when I post in here I feel like I'm kind of intruding...? Weird but true. It might be because the threads move kinda fast (on the days I can't make it to the computer atleast lol) & I miss stuff.
Nice to know you noticed my absence though, don't I feel special?! ;) I'll try to check in more often.
I have been having all sorts of issues here, Scally & I are all on our lonesome atm & I'm supposed to be packing for our move, then I'd been giving Scally top ups of formula because I though that she needed 'em but that turned into 2 or 3 bottles a day & I was feeling guilty & crap... after some sage advice from Barb in the Breastfeeding Support section we are doing much better, no ff since early yesterday morning & she is asleep as we speak... or type lol. She has been waking up every 1 to 2 hrs through the night which I hope is just a phase but it's not the bf as she started it when I was still comping with ff.
Like Maddy she is in 00, but like our clothes some are little & some are huge & she still fits in some 000. 00 is better to fit in her cloth butt though, even in a sposie the snaps only just do up, she seems to have a long torso while her hands are hiding in the sleeves!
Hi to everyone, will try to read over some of the stuff I missed tomorrow if I get a chance. :D
Oh Kate, just saw your post about your medicare card - You'll be so excited when you do get it, I was when I got mine with her name under mine, it was even better than getting her birth certificate lol.
Also, who was wanting a baby bjorn...? I've got one Scally hates I was going to sell on ebay.
-
omg jaylens been so unsettled ! i wonder why... lol im still putting it down to them BF tablets... well i hope its that! fed him n he still seems starving..
well better go hes stirring...
-
QueenMab - you felt left out too? Fark. Now we're all gonna feel like cr&p. Sorry... I guess we've just all been hanging out so long together, we know each other quite well. We do also talk/type a lot - sorry it's hard to keep up. Please don't leave... I hope you're not going to have to be up every 2 hours for too much longer. That would drive me nutso!!! Oh, it was Jess who was asking about the Baby Bjorn. Billy hated his too but he was in it today, for a little while... I can't wait to get my Medicare card also. How exciting. I got excited when I received things from Centrelink with his name on them.
Jess, hopefully it's just the vitamins making him unsettled. Don't know why they would do that but maybe if you stop them for a few days and just see what happens?
BTK's due for a feed at 9.30pm but hasn't stirred at all. I was just down there cleaning the bathroom then had a bath and dropped a whole lot of stuff on the floor and all he did was move his head - didn't even open his eyes. pmsl
Ewww... I have mother's group tomorrow. I wagged last week, remember? Do you reckon I should go? Is everyone else going to one? I have enough support on here, don't I?
I spoke too soon - I can hear him squeaking in the monitor... does everyone else's bubs squeak? OK, can't explain it. pmsl!
x
-
I just read an article on the raisingchildren.net.au site that said that night time feeds should be between 2 - 4 hours apart. Billy is sleeping 5 hours and sometimes a little bit more. Amber is too, isn't she Jen? I guess that's just a general thing. He would wake up if he was hungry, right? What if he's dehydrated? OMG, could I worry about one more thing today? :wall: pmsl!
Going now.
x
:)
-
You shouldn't be worried... Scarlett DOES sleep for one long stretch but it's from 5.30 or 6 to 10... of course I can't get to sleep before 11 lol & then she's up all night. Damnit on being normal though, I was hoping she'd stop it soon, real soon!!
I don't want anyone to feel bad because I wasn't feeling the love hon, I was just being honest! Don't feel bad that you are friends, that is stoopid.. :p
Have a good night! :D
-
Well, just as long as you hang around then. :)
She's normal? Oh dammit! ;)
Night everyone.
x
sweet sleep to us all...
-
If babies should be fed 2-4 hours during the night then I am a bad mum. Last night she went 7 hours. You'd reckon they would wake up if tired? My mchn says I can let her sleep as long as she keeps putting on weight. Oh dear conflicting info. I could be a bad mum yet!
Amber had 3 hours from 430-730. We got her up for a bath and a feed and she has just gone down again. Now saying that she will be up early tonight and then will not go back to sleep. So I probably go and try and get some sleep.
Kate- I was so excited when I got my medicare card in the mail. I now have a number 2 on my card. I get excited when any mail is addressed to Amber. She has been getting quite a few gifts and sent to her. Lucky thing. Her great grandmothers even sent her money. I must open her a bank account so I dont spend her cash.
QM- I read about your troubles in the bf threads. Isnt barb a great help! Well done on the BF and your perseverance. Please dont feel left out. Like I said to Bindy, I probably dont belong in here seeing as my girl was born in Feb. The more the merrier. Plus I reckon Scally and Amber are similar so its good reading what Scally is up to.
Well best go and get some sleep. My girl was so tired after her bath and feed. We now bath every night because it is great for putting her to sleep. We put this johnson and johnson bath stuff in the water then I rub some johnson and johnson oil into her skin as it is supposed to help her sleep. Purple bottles.
-
jaylen doesnt seem to want to go to sleep now lol hes usually asleep by now! might give him some formula to c if that puts him to sleep, my bbs are a bit sore, he only fed like an hr ago!
jen - ohh that bedtime bath and lotion stuff? so it actually works? i was going to get some but i didnt think it would work...
-
Dear All,
Just wanted to introduce myself here.
I had been offline for a long time as i had few prob's with my pg but....

Hi there ALR and Lewis and family! :) Congratulations and welcome.
Jess, you can still use that formula for up to an hour. If it's not heated already, just chuck it in the fridge - that will last 24 hours.
Jen, hey, we're all bad mothers then. I'm down with that. Waddya reckon? At least if we're all in the bad mother's club, we won't feel so mean. pmsl Conflicting info is driving me NUTSO!
Why am I back here? Oh yeah, had to pay a bill.
I might try that bathtime stuff. I've been using the lavender oil with olive oil in the bath. Billy's skin feels AWESOME!
I'm rambling... waiting for him to wake up. Shouldn't complain.
Right. Night night all.
x
ETA: ALR, Jess is right, if you go to lilypie.com, you can make a ticker with a photo next to it. :)

Thanx...
I just worked out how to post photo's on members gallery so have been off doing that.. I should be able to post my gallery photo's on my profile next.:D here's hoping

Morning ladies!!
Just a quick one cos I'm dying for a shower and I finally got Amy to go down. I GOT A SMILE!!!!! A REAL ONE!!!!! YAY!!!!!!! Got one yesterday and didn't think it was real cos it was the only one for the day but I got another couple this morning!!! they don't happen often but I'm sure they were real! I'm so excited cos I've been worried that she hasn't been developing as well as all your bubs. Can't wait until she's smiling all the time cos then there'll be no doubt at all!! :D
Kate - I wasn't offended at all! I was flattered  I think he's pretty spunky myself heheheheh. Mark organises the Quik Pro event, makes sure the "mini city" is set up properly and then keeps it running smoothly with the people from Quiksilver for the whole event. It's pretty amazing what they set up....they actually dismantle the balcony on the surf club and rebuild it so that it's bigger for the VIPs. Pretty cool but not my scene. I like the beach but don't surf and I'm not a pro surfer groupie. Don't worry about Billy's sleeping. Amy does a long sleep to start with at night and then wakes every 3 hours. She's started sleeping after her morning feed though which is great cos I actually get to eat brekky etc.
ALR - congrats!!! welcome to our little fun group!
Queen - we did miss you!! welcome back x
Well, speaking of which am gonna take advantage of the sleep and have a shower. Have a great day ladies :D Luv Nik and Amy

Morning girls,
My girl was so good during the night. We went to bed at 9, she woke at 2, feed then back to bed, wake at 630, feed then back to bed. she is now is bed still and will wake very soon.
The johnson and johnson stuff. We were given the bath lotion and a massage lotion for after bath and oil as well. I alternate rubbing the oil and lotion into her. It smells good and it says it is supposed to help them sleep better. Who knows.
Nik- Hooray on Amy sleeping. Make sure you have a nice soak. You feel so much better after a shower. Wow on the smile. She is not behind at all. I cant wait til my girl smiles. Her mouth is starting to curl so it wont be long.
Kate- Bad mothers club here. If my girl is tired, I will let her sleep. She seems happy enough. Arnt babies skins just nice all over! and the soft hair. I might never cut it.
Jess- Maybe Jaylen is having a growth spurt and thats why he is hungry. Amber was feeding every 2 hours yesterday. The bath stuff smells nice too.
hi ALR. Welcome. We do chat a lot.
Going to eat brekky and my girl is due for a feed,

Hi Everyone -
Yes my car blew a head gasket a couple of years ago I spent $2000 on having it fixed finally the engine died (literally) It was a struggle just to get it up a hill in the end. What I am mostly annoyed about is that I took the car to have its timing belt replaced and a major service ... to our mechanic (who we trusted) and we drove out of there with this (new) swishing sound in the front end - rang the mechanic and he said it was nothing to be concerned about. I don't recall what he said it was
Then it turns out that the swishing sound was. the water pump but we didn't find that out until we were back at the mechanic having our engine fixed.
Then we drove the car home a hose had come lose or something like that - took it back to be fixed up then drove out of there with this loud whirring sound then the speedo goes and we can no longer tell what speed we are doing.
Never went back to this mechanic again I think he was screwing things up...
...And that is why I wanted to take a baseball bat to the car!!!
Anyone else been screwed by mechanics - it would be good to know that I am not the only one
Jen - I would let bubby sleep during the night and enjoy your sleep
Hi Jo, sazz, queenmab, maz, nikkiw, carol, mary AND any other ladies I have forgotten.

Morning!
i have been busy for a few days, glad to hear everyone is going well and enjoying our babies.
Went to the ob yesterday for my 6 week checkup. had a great chat to him about my caesar (you may remember at the birth he had gone- they told me when I was out of it that he was coming back, but I didnt remember then another ob stepped in and did the caesar- then my ob came back and said what happened!!)
SO, he is really happy to do VBAC next time, and even outlined what we could do to enable it to happen if I am going the same way. I am so happy that I might have the opportunity to try VBAC. I still cant shake the slight disappointment for not having a vaginal this time.
Anyway!
Addy is having quite a lot of reflux at the moment, poor chicken. The mylanta seems to help. Still cant get her to sleep in the afternoon/evenings. She ends up so tired. I need to look up the first tired signs and get her in her bassinette sooner I think. We will put her down, like 20 times, when she seems asleep after a feed or cuddle, and each time after 20minutes of noises, wriggling and wrestling out of her swaddle, she will scream so we pick her up again- and so the cycle goes for hours... Any suggestions?:wall:

Bindy- How did Maddy go with her needles? I'll be booking Jackson in for his today. I know there is something you can get to put on their arm or whatever to numb it for the needle. Cant remember what it is now. Or you can b/f them to distract them from it-I did this with Cara & will do with little boy to. Also give them baby panadol or similar before you go so it kicks in not long after needle & helps with any discomfort.
ALR-Welcome to our little thread, lol. And yep the lilypie site is the one I found to be the easiest for putting up a piccie! I tried another but kept getting error messages. Just have to resize your photo though so it works:)
QM- I'm glad you're back again and of course we noticed you weren't here! You & Bindy were here from the start but then you both just faded, lol iykwim. And dont worry my posts arent always responded to either:( but sometimes that happens. Doesn't mean youre forgotten okay.
Karen/Mary- sorry I cant catch up with you both!:( Wed are no good for me or Thurs & soon Tues wont be either 'cause my girl has Kindy which she sooo loves!
that reminds me who else is close in Brissy! Was it you Bindy. Someone was moving here I'm sure, lol.
Jackson had a hard time of it last night, Arghhhh!!! Finally settled him down at about 10.30! He was tired but had a 'funny tummy' - and he wasn't taking his bottle like normal but wanted bby all the time! But bby gets sore! Hopefully though he'll be back to normal again tonight, fingers X'ed.
Mary- Jackson can be like your girl too. I can see quite abit that he's forcing himself to stay awake! His eyes are heavy but he just wont stay asleep. Soo frustrating. But it does help if you can help him to sleep when you 1st notice the signs. Jackson has this cry that I recognise as 'I need sleep!' lol. And I act on it but its hard when there is a 3 yo who likes to make noise! But they normally rub their little eyes or else there may be jerky movements or they'll be grumpy.
Nik- Dont you just love their little smiles!! Jackson just has what I call a big cheeky grin. Its just gorgeous. I was playing with a ball yesterday that has a bell inside it and rolled it over him and I swear if he could have laughed he would have. It was that type of grin. It was hilarious:) Just love'em hey!
Kate- I've heard of the lavendar oil ! I'll have to give that a defineate whirl-sounds good...and if it relaxes them well thats gotta be good! LOL.
PPL I say if bubs is sleeping why wake them up!! They'll just have a good feed once they do. I'm not a believer of waking a contented sleeping babe! LOL.
Sorry for the novel everyone! As you guess Jackson is making up for last night:D

hey everyone
jaylen has diarea, wat could be the cause? something im eating? the formula? i thought formula was sposed to make their poo harder?
-
Jess - Im not totally sure but maybe it is the changeover from b/f to ff... If it is it will improve soon enough. You know what you should buy? We bought one with Cara our 1st born & it was our bible!LOL whenever there was a problem we would look it up & it takes you through their development mth by mth. Its excellent & worth its weight in gold! Its called What to Expect the first Year. I still look at it now & then:D
-
ALR - cool pics! He's a cutie!!!
Nik - awesome you got a smile. How fantastic! I'm sure there'll be lots more to come. :) Yeah, I'm not into surfing either. I wish I could do it but I tried and it wasn't fun. I nearly drowned. ha ha! Don't think Jan Juc was the place to start really! I did get to sing at the Rip Curl Pro the year before last at Bells. It was freezing cold but great fun! :)
Carol - I hope Jackson has a better day/night. Billy's had a cr*p couple of days but seems a little better today. I guess they just have their days, just like us. With b/f during the needles, that's what they got us to do in the hospy for the heel ***** thing. Great idea! Definitely try the lavender oil too - it's great stuff. Just ONE drop in the bath though. :)
Mary, great news about your check up. You must be pleased. Are you letting Addy scream for a bit or just picking her up straight away? I try to wait for a bit before picking Billy up but it's hard.
Jen, that's great about Amber's night last night. You must be feeling heaps better! At least you can all get some sleep now. :)
Jess, I think it depends on the formula. Billy's poo is really pastey but it was rock hard on S26. Go into the FF section on here and have a look at the article about bowel habits. Maybe that will help? Also the ladies in there are very helpful. Call the hospy or the nurse if it keeps going though. Might just be a change of diet or something you've eaten.
Went to the mother's group. It was really good. I shouldn't have assumed it was going to be cr*p and full of snobs. Completely the opposite in fact. This poor lady there has had an abcess in her breast. Having to have it drained and tissue in there has died and stuff. She's been in hospital. Poor thing. My time has been easy compared to hers...
Not much else going on here. BTK is sleeping (touch wood). I'm thinking of baking a cake. Just a packet one. Caramel mud cake. I even bought one of those bendy baking tins - silicone ones or something? They looked cool so I had to have it. I never cook but hey, who knows when you'll need a bendy cake tin. ;)
Right, going to do something constructive or fall asleep.
Back later.
