ps. TMI - I have to have another colposcopy done in 3 weeks (I had one at the start of my pg as my pap smear came back abnormal and they are just following up) and I had to get a prescription filled for this cream stuff that I have to use 3 times per week until the appointment. I didn't actually realise it was a cream until I picked it up today. I thought it was a tablet. Anyway, it's got one of those applicator thingys to put it in and I'm too scared to use it... It's gonna hurt, hey? Just thinking about it makes me cringe... Think I might call my dr and ask her if I HAVE to use it...
Sorry, I'm having sook.
-
-
hmm hope its just the formula lol.. im only giving him like 1 bottle a day though? im taking agarol too, but i dont think that would be it, cuz i have been taking it all thro my pregnancy and since i got outa hospital.. ah no idea...
well sorry no personals, gunna go cool down, ahh i hate hot weather
-
Big hugs to Maz, Vy and Mat. It is not good to watch babies getting their needles. When they did Ambers heel ***** test in hospital I wasnt there. They had taken her away to settle her so I could get some sleep. They did the test and bought her into me screaming. It makes me cry to see my little girl so upset. I hope vy and Mat can sleep this arvo.
Jess- Amber is bf and her poos have been wet. They are yellow but she seems happy enough. Is he still feeling ok?
Kate- How cool do the bendy baking trays look! I always wanted to buy one. Let me know how it works. You can get a whole lot of silicone stuff these days. I know how you feel about the cream. TMI here but I got constipated 2 days ago and I freaked seeing as I have not healed properly yet. I have a bottle of the liquid they give you in hospy so it came out again. Dont we women go through enough!
Carol- That book sounds good. I might have to try and find it on ebay.
Mary- Yay about the VBAC. Addy is a healthy little girl. You went through a long and hard labour please dont beat yourself up over it.
Our mothers groups dont start til about 14 weeks? That seems a long way away especially as you girls are already doing them.
My girl is asleep for now. I really dont like it when it is a bit warmer. She is more unsettled.
-
Don't worry too much Jess. Just see if it settles down. It might just be something you've eaten. Just call the hospy if you're worried though. :)
-
Jen, that seems really far off to start a mother's group thing. We watched a DVD about settling babies and stuff today. I thought that was what they were meant for? All places must do it differently. He, just come to mine - you're so close! ;)
Yeah, not happy about the cream stuff and I feel for you on the constipation. I agree, we go through enough!!!
OK, going to cook. I'll probably burn it. lol
Back soon.
:)
ps. Jen, they have PURPLE bendy baking stuff at Big W!!! How exciting!
-
Hello everyone!
Sorry, I wont do many personals today. I feel like crap. I have a sore throat, headachey thing and I think Celeste has something similar. She had a horrible couple of days with coughing, sneezing and being really unsettled. Monday she did this projectile vommiting thing all over the visitors (quite funny actually) and I took her to the doctor today cause her snot is dark green and she has been only having half feeds and not sleeping normally. Yesterday she just napped for 20mins at a time but last night she slept for 8hours!!!!! I woke up though to check on her. Doctor said she just has a cold and to give her panadol. No infection which is great.
Nik, sooo happy that you have recieved a few smiles! Makes your heart sing hey?
Jess, maybe the runny poos is cause you are bf more? you know, the opposite of ff hard poos?
Good to hear that they can keep their arms tucked inside the baby bjorn. Celeste doesnt but I might try her like that cause she keeps pressing her nose into my chest and I worry she cant breathe properly.
Kate, Eww poor you with the tests and cream. Not fun I'm sure. Hope its not too bad for you.
Hawksey, good hearing about your dr and the vbac plan. I am like you with the feelings about the c-sect. I feel like I missed out and would love to try for a vbac if I ever get the chance. How is your belly healing up? Are you doing strengthing excercises yet? I'm not sure if I should start yet...
Am I the only one from SA here? I feel like a million miles away from all of you brissy/melb/perth girls.... sitting here like Norma No Friends :)
Hi ALR, welcome to the party. So glad everything worked out ok after you pg problems.
Well, gonna go do something before Celeste wakes as yesterday I had her in my arms most of the day. Must fold nappies, empty dishwasher etc. What fun!
I am thinking of taking down all the Birth cards we have up in the lounge room. They have been there for 6weeks now but I dont want to cause that is kinda like the end of her newborn stage if you KWIM??? Might leave them up for a while longer. Plus they look nice.
-
ewwww... don't feel well.... cake mix...:lol:;)
Let's just say this cake is going to be a "low rider"
PMSL!
-
Sazz, I hope you both feel better soon. Poor things... I took down all the birth cards last week, wrapped them in a ribbon and put them in Billy's keepsake box thingy with my hospy bands etc. Also double checked I'd done thank you cards to everyone before I put them away. Was sad taking them down.
And, pmsl again - you with your "Norma No Friends" and Nik throwing her "Pity Party". You girls make me laugh.
Hey, if you feel too lonely, I'll just pack the car and BTK and I will come visit. ;)
Get better soon.
x
-
ps. does anyone know why that little box thing under my photo gallery link is grey and other people's are green?
-
That grey box has something to do with reputation points..
One thing better than cake mixture is cookie mixture. DP makes these great biscuits and the mixture tastes good if not better raw!
Sazz- I hope you and celeste feel better really soon. There is nothing worse with being sick and your little one feeling ill too.
You know we got more birth cards and presents for Amber than DP and I got christmas cards... I am not taking ours down for a little bit yet. She is only 3 weeks after all!
Hmmm I found out that my boss has sold the business today. I work for a franchise for a car rental company. So our franchise has been soldback to the corporation. There is still a job for me at the end of my m/l but I am more loyal to the bosses than the corporation so it will make my decision easier what to do with work. I might try and find something part time and closer to home when the time comes.
With work and stuff has anyone thought about when they will go back? I know it is a long time away but I guess I am thinking about this stuff.
-
hmm jaylens been so unsettled 2day, i think the diarea is hurting his tummy.. not sure though... and he will only sleep on me.. hmm if he still has it in a few days i will go to the doc...
jen - i havent really thought about going back to work, im getting more now than i was working full time at my work, so i dont really see the point in going back to work really! might do a few shifts when hes about 1 or 2 cuz i will just wanna do something more 'adult' lol but na not sure!
-
Kate - I also have what I call a 'memory box' for Cara & I have started one for Jackson too. I think it will be great to look back on when they are older & they will appreciate it too. Even did preg journals as well, lol. I like reading them now & then:)
Sazz- I hope you'll be feeling better soon, & hope even more that Celeste doesn't end up with it! We had the 'coughs ' in our house for awhile and then I could hear Jackson coughing too:( But we're much better now & so is here, still sounds a bit congested though.
Jess- Hope little Jaylen feels better soon too! And yeah if he isn't much better in a day or two definately get him to your GP. Do what I do if your GP is busy as they normally are. Book him in now that way you'll be sure to get in & maybe get the time you want. You can always cancel on the day if you dont need it then:)
Jen- Its bit of a guessing game really at this point re work:) I know when I was thinking about it with Cara I thought I'd be back within 6/7 mths but just could'nt stand the thought of someone else caring for her & I really didn't want to miss a thing with her! So here I am still at home with my babies enjoying time with them, taking pics/video, playing with them & of course keeping house. And it is full on! Some mums have a choice while others really 'need' to return to work for the dosh...must be hard, but you gotta do what you gotta do hey:) And that book I was talking about is worth the recommendation! Take a look at it. I'd give you mine if I was done with it!
-
Hi
I had a nice lunch and met up with Karen today. Look forward to meeting up with more people next time.
Tascha- you are so close to me now, as is Dayl who we havent heard from for awhile. Carol is not far away and Jo is a little further from me.
Went shopping today, and how sad is this, I bought maternity jeans from KMart $40. I didnt have any all pregnancy, now I want to wear jeans and my belly is preventing me from buying real ones!!
Someone meantioned a cream for immunisations- its called EMLA and its a local anaesthetic tthat works really well to numb the area before a needle. It is available over the counter. If you use it put a patch on the upper arm and thigh over the big muscles. They will probably give the needles into the thigh muscles.
Sazz, My tummy is going down very slowly, My scar line is still having a little area at the end that wont heal- my ob thinks its a caught hair! I start pilates up again after Easter, so that will be good. If i could get out walking more it would be better!! But I have no pain etc anymore- how about you?
Glad you are all getting something out of your mothers groups, I rang up and booked into the community one, then as I am going to Perth next week(and will miss two out of three), rang to change the dates- get this, they told me I cant book into another one cause Addy will be too old after Easter!! You can only join a group up to 8 weeks! So we miss out completely. Oh well, have to meet up with you guys instead!
-
You girls & your chatting!! I'm never going to be able to keep up...!!
Kate - I know lol, 'normal'... who'd have thought?? I never thought I'd see the day when a child of mine was *shiver* 'normal'.
Jen, Yeah, I think I love Barb now! Honestly I am feeling so great today & I am putting it down to the bfing & getting Scally to sleep sooner. Why are Amber & Scally similar... because they both have mega unsettled times...?! lol, if only it was because they were perfect dreams to look after. Scally doesn't have the sleep stuff in her bath, just J&J milk bath, I like the smell ;). Maybe I'll get me some purple bottles though, if they work. She likes a shower more than a bath though so I normally resort to that if she's really frazzled. I haven't been to a Mothers Group yet although the ppl here called to invite me, thought it would be a waste of time since we're moving but will look into one down there, maybe, if I can get my act together... so maybe not!! Oh, just read Hawkseys post about not being able to join a mothers group after 8 wks... oh well! As for work, I don't ever want to go back!! Who does though? All I know for sure is 'no time soon'!!
Welcome ALR & congrats, I think Lewis is a great name, 'cept I'd annoy you by calling him Louey!!
NikW, How great are the first real smiles?! Scally seems to have gone from barely smiling to grinning & laughing & talking overnight. I can't believe the change, it's amazing!!
Hawksey, Good news on the prospects of a VBAC although even thinking about another at this point should be a commitable offence! Bugger about the reflux, I had it bad enough when PG, it can't be fun for poor little Addy. :( Definately try to get her to bed sooner, that was one of the things up with Scally, she tires out quicker than most bubs, I was aiming to have her ready to sleep by 1.5 hrs but turns out her awake time is more like 1 hr. I wanted to buy jeans today as I am only fitting into my maternity ones but I'd have to buy a size up atm & after seeing them & the acres & acres of fabric I decided to wait!! Have a few pairs of mat jeans that don't look like mat jeans (well, none of them do now days do they... remember those hideous ones with the weird material/elastic belly cut out bit in the front?? Ick!). Bugger on the Mothers Group, that'll be us too then. Atleast we've got BB & I am also excited about meeting my Belly Buddies once I move.
Hindonly, Jackson will be laughing before you know it, like I said to Jen I can't believe the change in Scarlett over the last few days, she laughs! Well, it's more like a big grin accompanied by a squeal, it's so so great!
Jess, My guess on the diohrea... (I obviously have no idea how to spell that lol) is the formula & his tummy getting used to something different. Scally has some weird stuff going on in that department too lol.
Maz, Oh I don't envy you! Or your babies! Poor things & poor you. *hugs*
Sazz, I'm a Norma No Friends too atm, but since I'm moving to Melbourne I won't be for long as a few of my Bell Buddies live there. Alot of BB ppl seem to be from Melb come to think of it. Poor Celeste having a cold, gee that's a lovely name. If we ever have another girl I might have to steal it ;) Celeste & Scarlett would go well together hehehe.
Well!! After all of that I bet you're all sorry you told me to stay!!
Had a great day out & about today - it was the longest we've been out of the house & no screaming fits!! Some near misses but that doesn't matter.
I had the best experience I've had with Scarlett so far yesterday afternoon... I read her a book & she loved it!! It was 'The cat in the hat comes back' & I lay next to her on the rug & held it above our heads, she laughed & gooed & gaaed the whole time I was reading & was watching the book the whole time, it was really fantastic & I think just a taste of the fun we'll have hanging out together.
So, so glad our bf/ff issues are over for now, it was getting me down but everything is running smoothly now...
I better shut up now... can you tell I'm in a good mood?? Think I'm a bit manic 'cause I've not eaten yet today... just haven't had a chance, will go get dinner now.
-
QM- From what you described, Scally has some unsettled times where putting her to bed and waking ten minutes later etc sounded exactly like Amber. You 'sound' good today. Hooray! I sing to Amber sometimes but I am so tone deaf!
I was saying to Kate before, I know my life is boring when I look forward to the catalogues coming and I can look through them. Then I get excited when I see a special like a special on nappies etc.
-
hi ladies,
amy had her shots in each thigh. they only give two shots now as of 1 mar instead of 3. just as horrible tho. amy was fine after a cuddle tho. she had a mild fever last nite and this arvo but panadol fixed it. good luck to those with shots due soon xx
jess - are u sure it's diarrhoea?? amy had really runny poos for a while there but it wasn't diarrhoea. i think it needs to be watery....just watch him cos bubs get dehydrated quickly. amy had the watery realllllly stinky poos after we'd been on formula top ups for a bit.... i think it was still her body getting used to it tho...she had pains in the tummy too. it went away after about 2 days....hope he feels better soon xx
kate - glad to hear mothers group was good. how was your cake? yum!! i love baking but i never get the time and always forget 2 buy ingredients!
maz - hope things have settled down xx
sazz - hope u both feel better soon. i took our cards down yesterday as i was doing thank u cards....i'm so slack!!
jen - not sure wen i'll b going bak 2 work.....when the money runs out i guess. wish we could win the lotto.....oh that's right, u have to actually buy a ticket to win that!! hehe
mary - no idea when our mothers group is....that really sux for u!! would rther catch up with u ladies anyway!
got clinic again tomorrow morn. i'm so over worrying about amy's weight gain!!! have a great nite ladies xxxx luv nik and amy
-
QueenMab - where in Melbourne are you moving to if you don't mind me asking?
-
Me again, hehehe
Just a quick one: QM feel free to use Celeste's name as I love Scarlett too so maybe we will just do a swapsy for next bubs?
Nik, we are having a weigh tomorrow too. Celeste is still the smallest here I think... Wonder if she has hit 4kg yet?
Mostly just came in to let you know I have finally gotten around to putting some pictures up in the gallery if anyone wants a squizz...
Panadol has worked really well for Celeste. She must have had a headache poor thing. Might take some myself and have a nap now!
Catch you all tomorrow!
-
Brain has stopped working.
Billy just had this screaming session. Never, ever heard him scream like it before. He couldn't breathe he was so upset. You know when they can't catch their breath? It was awful. Don't know what it was. No wind. No poo. No wee. I held him really tight in my arms and kept his dummy in and he finally fell asleep. I wrapped him up in a muslin wrap and he didn't even wake up when I did that. Must've exhausted himself. So anyway, I forgot who I was going to write to!
Jen, that baking tray was ok. Cake on the other hand... The tray was too big for it so it was flatter and I think it cooked too quickly. I didn't bother icing it and have been picking bits off it. pmsl I am NOT a cook!
Um, work? If I go back to work, that means moving back to the coast. I'm not sure if I want to. I loved it there so much and SO didn't want to come back here but now I want to be close to my family and Billy needs to be close to his dad too. The support of friends and family here is so important. I had friends there too but not long time ones, you know? I don't know. I loved my job so much but things have changed there also. We shall see...
Jess, I'd do what Carol said and book Jaylen into the GP just in case. As she said, you can always cancel. :)
Hey Mary, how is Sammy going with Addy?
Damn, I forgot what I was going to say. Think I might go to bed for a bit...
Hope everyone gets some sleep tonight.
x
-
Just letting you know that Madeleine went fine with her needles yesterday, grizzled a bit when she came home but all in all she was fine. When she screamed, it broke my heart but Daddy and I were there to give her big cuddles. Hope everyone is well.
-
Mums I cant believe what you're telling me about Mums groups. Why not find a local one run by mums? I actually started one in my area & mums can join at anytime:) We have quite a few mums involved in it too - its great ;) Met alot of local mums in the area & made a few strong friends as well.
Bindy - Poor Maddy!! Is it okay to shorten her name like that?? Better ask! lol. I hate it when they scream - really hope Jackson doesn't. Did you give her anything beforehand to help with the discomfort afterwards? Bl**dy needles hey! And they just keep coming too, lol.
-
Yeah I don't mind but I like Madeleine, it's so pretty! Nah I didn't give her panadol, the nurse said it's not necessary these days as the effects on them are less now (because its' 2008, not 1978!), I think they've made vaccinations better. I gave her some afterward though when we got home as she was a little grizzly. When are you going with Jackson to get his done?
-
Oi Bindy - Why aren't you in bed?! ;)
Atleast when you shorten Madeline it comes out as a cute 'Maddy' Scarlett on the other hand... I think I've already said that the name 'Scar' will come in handy if she's ever in jail haha.
Anywho, I better get to bed or I'll be back whining tomorrow!
Night lady! xoxo
-
Sorry i've been MIA all day decided to iron all the clothes i washed the other day because they were creased plus Sophie had a clingy day and she had a bit of wind. So going to try VERY hard to post personals if i miss anyone i'm saying sorry in advance.
Jen- not sure what the hold up was with the medicare card, nobody told us to go to medicare first and get a temp card for Sophie and then go to centrelink grrrrr so we went to centrelink and then tried going to medicare. Yeah Sophie has daddy's last name, will make it so much easier when we get married that way i just have to change all my stuff over. Good to hear Amber is having better nights, and hopefully she'll sort herself out during the day soon. I LOVE the smell of Sophie that new baby smell. Havent thought when/if i'll go back to work as yet, at the moment enjoying my little madam and Chris hasnt said anything about me going back to work yet.
Nik- Chris doesnt understand what a demanding job looking after Sophie is, he told me last night that i have the easiest job in the world i wanted to slap him. You have a pity party anytime you like we'll all join in. Chris only sees Sophie for a few hours each day and has no idea what i go through during the day. Woohoo on getting smiles from Amy:clap::dance: I'm suppose to go to the health nurse tomorrow but cant get there Chris will be at work, but will get Sophie checked over at the dr on Friday anyway so i'm not stressed. I havent done thankyou cards yet i'm VERY slack trying to sort my printer out so it prints good photos not photos that make everyone look like they've had too much sun grrrr.
Kate- haha, we were birth buddies that went into labour the same day maybe we could have some weird connection. Hopefully all goes well on Friday for both of us,reminds me i have to get my pap smear done friday and ask about the cervical cancer vaccine and the pill. No problem for the hug anytime. You were thinking of the right form i did the same thing (went to centrelink first). Thanks for checking out my pictures on facebook, i wasnt sure when i last added photos. I'll check out your after i post this novel. During the night Sophie will usually go 5hrs before she wakes for a feed, i've stopped waking her to feed i figure when shes hungry she'll wake me, i gave Sophie cooled boiled water (it was room temperature) i put 60ml in both times and she took about half both times. It was in between feeds and it was warm and SIL said shes old enough to have it. If you heat up formula but bubs doesnt drink it all what do you do with it? can it be reheated??. Glad the mothers group wasnt as bad as you thought it would be, no ones mentioned a mothers group to me was the hospital suppose to or the health nurse??. Pardon my ignorance but what is a 'colposcopy'?. I've used the applicator thing before with the cream its not too bad a little uncomfortable i didnt like using it either.
Sazz- I havent taken down Sophie's birth cards yet either wasnt sure how long they were suppose to be on display for. Sorry but i too had a giggle at your "norma no friends". I hope your little girl is better soon nothing worse than having a cold and so little.
ALR- Hello & welcome, congratulations on your little man. I got my ticker from 'bump & beyond' and it was easy to add the photo to the ticker its in their process of making their tickers HTH.
QM- i too am sorry if you felt excluded, we get carried away in here even when we were still in our Belly Buddies thread we'd fly through threads VERY quickly and it was hard to keep up even then now we all have bubs. Please dont leave though. Another noveliest among us , glad Scally had a good day out & about today. You sounds like you were in a terrific mood sort of like that scene on titanic "i'm on top of the world woohoo" haha.
Karen- sounds like you had a dodgy mechanic who was making more work for himself the wrong way. The swishing sound is consistant with a water pump, but i wouldnt have stopped at taking to the car with a baseball bat i would have taken a shot at the mechanic also, i try not to be a violent person but dodgy mechanics do my head in. I qualified as a mechanic April 07 (no joke).
Mary- so glad your 6 week check up went well and your OB is very keen for you to try a VBAC next time whenever you guys decide that will be. I'd be happy to catch up with you guys but i dont drive & Chris is back on day shift and public transport isnt the best. But you guys are more than welcome to come for a visit if you'd like. My belly too is preventing me from wearing normal jeans, 3/4's and shorts i'm still wearing all my maternity pants but i'm back to wearing normal shirts.
Carol- im not IN IN brissy but i'm at Tanah Merah :D I hope Jackson was better for you today. Thanks for the tips in regards to needles we'll be getting Sophie done in 2 weeks so they'll come in handy. That book sounds like a good buy might even pick myself up a copy.
Maz- to you, Vy & Mat not pleasant to get needles done i myself still hate needles.
Jess- i hope Jaylen has been better for you, maybe he doesnt like the formula your giving him even if its only 1 bottle its probably enough to upset his tummy. Not sure about the diahorea (sp), Sophies poos are a softish paste and yellow/green.
Bindy- Glad Madeleine went well with her needles.
I think i've written the longest post ever (for me) and wasnt interrupted once. Well going to catch some ZZZ's even if its only for an hour its better than nothing.
-
God you girls can chat!! pmsl
i hav elost my side of the bed to the boobie monster come bed $lut!!
im waiting fo rhim to go to sleep so I can put him back in his basinet and then im going to get some sleep...have been awake since 2.30..ahh and my nose is running and i have a sore throat!
I need a scotch!
-
Maz- Awake since 2.30!! Poor Woman & I bet no chance of you catching a few zzz's today. I know I find it impossible so couldn't be any easier for you,LOL.
-
god u girls can chat, it used to be me doing all the chatting hehe
yer might ring the docs 2day... get me checked up as well!
i think i might have thrush on my boobs, maybe thats why they are burning..
ahh i never have time for personals anymore! :(
well better go, doing more shopping 2day :p i just have to get out of the house, i stayed at home yesterday and i nearly went insane! i think im just going to go for a walk around the shops everyday or something!
-
Jess - You are still way ahead of me with your post count LOL!! Get out of the house & enjoy yourself today. We dont want an insane Mummy in here!! ;)
-
Hi ladies!
Amy put on 150g this past week.Yay!! she's still little, 4.44 kg but i'm just glad she's growing. she's grown 7cm in 8 weeks!
maz - i really hope you feel better soon. i'm hearing u on the drink....am gonna have a little glass of wine this weekend to celebrate having my husband back!
sazz - how'd celeste's weight go?? the photos are just adorable! love her first smile one :-)
kate - it's awful when they do those screams. must be a quick intense pain that scares them or something. cuddles are great healers aren't they?
carol - good on u for stating ur own mum's group :D
bindy - hope madeleine is ok now after her shots. amy had a slight fever a couple of times but she seems fine now. i gave panadol after as well
jo - tell chris to get stuffed.....its not that easy tho is it?? there is a reason guys don't give birth and chris's attitude is an example of that reason. they just don't understand.....lack of sleep and constant demand on your time, energy and mental capacity is not the easiest job in the world! no one understands except another mother! hope you got your chores done! it's hard when they have a clingy day isn't it!?
jess - enjoy shopping! :D
had a weird night last night....amy's feeding more often and at 2am she decided she didn't want to be asleep anymore. I settled her to sleep for about 20 min and then she woke about 3am so I fed her and then she didn't go down til 4.30. Mark slept all the way through it!! No idea how....anyway, am hoping i get a nap today but knowing murphy's law I won't! have a wonderful day ladies xxx
-
Gday Gang,
Celeste was weighed this morning and she has put on 490g in two weeks!!! That is more than she has put on in total for her entire life previously!!!!!!! She finally made it to 4kg at almost 7weeks hehe. Had her measured today too: they dont do it everytime here. Her head is 3cm bigger than birth and length is now 54cm (was 48 at birth). Woo hoo. she is now up to the bottom 25% for age which is great as she had dropped just below the bottom 10% at one stage. Very happy :)
Sounds like Amy is coming on in leaps and bounds now Nik, great news.
Maz, I have the same nose/throat cold here, Celeste too. I think she gave it to me actually.
Jess, I go down to the shops for a walk most days too, I dont usually buy stuff but just walk and always have someone stop me for a chat which is nice.
Gotta go, she's up for a feed now...
More personals later if I can
-
OMG Sophie slept for 7hrs last night 10-5 i woke up when she was due (thanks to my alarm on my phone) and she was still asleep so i kept waking every hour to check on her and she was fine she must have been buggered from not getting alot of sleep yesterday, but when she woke up boy did she guzzle the bottle she didnt spill a drop haha just thought i'd share.
Maz- for you, hopefully you got your side of the bed back from the boobie monster and got some sleep. Can you drink alcohol if your breast feeding?.
Carol- i would imagine it would be hard for all of you with other kids to get time to yourselves or nap between feeds if you need to. Jess & I are neck & neck with post counts but still nowhere near Maz's  but i'm sure we'll be there in no time.
Jess- it use to be you & me that were chatting up a storm how times have changed HAHA. I hope Jaylens better and if he isnt i hope you've gone to the dr to get both of you checked over. I dont mind being at home its easier to stick to our routine we've got going
Nik- Nice weight gain for Amy, woohoo on growing 7cm!!, last week Sophie was 51.5cm so since birth shes only grown 1.5cm but were only at 6weeks, but shes putting on weight so im not worried. I could feel SO much passion behind your comment "Jo- tell Chris to get stuffed............", its not easy i almost feel like leaving him home with Sophie for 1 day or a weekend and see how easy he thinks it is after that but i dont think i could do that to my little madam i'd feel guilty doing it to her as i'd be punishing her while trying to teach daddy a lesson. Unless men have experience it they dont get it, if men were to give birth could you imagine it they'd whinge more than what they say women whinge , no one except other mothers understand that demands of a baby. I got my ironing done & washing put away and i was happy that i got that much done and i cooked a tuna bake which was yummo. I 've tried using the carrier SIL gave me but havent quite got it strapped where i want it the way it is is fine for now, Sophie gets lost in it and she puts her hands in front of her, but once shes in it she calms down and looks around wondering how shes being held when ive got both hands free its cute.
Sazz- congrats on the weight gain!!. Woohoo on Celeste cracking the 4kg mark. If we didnt live where we live id go walking everyday, but Chris is thinking about getting a dog and we dont have a fenced yard here so were looking for something else to rent and i told him we have be close to the shops or close to public transport so i can get around without him.
-
Sazz - WOW!!!! Congrats Celeste! Good girl! Less stress for mummy now! That's great news :-)
Jo - I totally understand that it's hard to tell the guys to get stuffed. I couldn't do it when Mark was putting pressure on me to breast feed. But it's true, they don't understand it, and can't because they just aren't women. We are lucky though that we get to spend so much time with our little ones and can take a lot of the credit for bringing them up. If I was a bloke i'd be jealous of that, even though it's hard work. I know Mark is jealous. I know what you mean about getting some chores done and it feeling like an achievement. I eat lunch and am happy with that! Hahahaha. My carrier is really uncomfortable. it doesn't seem to stay around my waist. It always seems to pull up a bit and forward. Am thinking it needs more straps or something to support properly....who knows. might have to buy another one. They're just so handy. So funny your comment about sophie not knowing how she's being held. hehehehe. wow, that's great she slept through. The longest sleep I've ever got in a row is 5 hrs and that's cos I went to bed at 7.30! hehehe.
well i'm gonna go and try to have a nap cos last night wasn't the best. Luv Nik and Amy xxx

Hi lovelies!
Sazz, AWESOME pics. Celeste looks just like her dad I think. How gorgeous! Great news about her weight gain too! Billy's finally made it over 4kg now too. I was pretty excited!
Bindy, so glad Madeleine went ok with her needles. I may cry taking Billy to get his. I hope she's doing ok today too. :)
QueenMab - PMSL @ Scally's jail nickname!
Jo, holy sh*t, you've turned into a novelist too! That's a Jo record for sure! Fark, I can't believe Chris said that to you! OMG, I would've lost it. Lucky you don't have a bad temper. Hell, leave him at home one day, just one day and he won't know what's hit him. Men are cr*p. As for the formula, I was told you can only reheat it once, within the hour, otherwise chuck it. Who knows though. You get so many differing opinions. Hey, when's BTK going to sleep that long? ha ha ha! You must've got a fright!
Hey Maz, did you have a drink? How's the runny nose? Not coming up tomorrow but will be next week I'm pretty sure. Jeez, hope so. I'm getting all excited about a big road trip! ha ha! How are Mateauz and Vy today? Feeling better I hope.
Jess, you better get onto that thrush cos if you don't, it will get into the back of the bb and is apparently really hard to treat then. That's when you get shooting pains kind of.
Nik - awesome news about Amy's weight gain and growth! How exciting. Billy's grown 5.5cm in 6 weeks I think.
Carol, I love that pic of Cara and Jackson on your facebook. How gorgeous! Is she loving being a big sister?
Not really much going on here today. I decided I'd get off my fat as* and go for a walk so off we went, then it started raining. Will try again later. My sneakers fit again - don't miss those kankles! So sick of looking like an elephant. I'd like to find a gym that won't lock me into a contract. My old gym has now become Fernwood and they are far too expensive and make you sign a year thingy. That's no good to me as I'm not sure if I'm staying in Melbourne or not. I'll find something.
Billy was weighed and measured yesterday while we were at the MCH centre thingy for mummy club. He's put on 580g in just over 2 weeks. She didn't say it was too much so I guess it's ok. Can't believe he was losing weight at first, now it's just a memory! He's now 4290g and is 56.5cm long. He looks so little still. His head is 39.5cm. I have no idea where all those measurements fit in. As long as he's ok - I'm happy. :)
Hey, I GOT MY MEDICARE CARD JUST BEFORE!!! It's SO exciting seeing his little name there under mine. You girls were right! :)
Billy wouldn't settle this morning after his 8.15am feed so after a little nap in his pram, I made up 60ml of formula and gave him that as a snack. Haven't done that before. I hope that's alright. He left 80ml of his bottle this morning so I reckon that should be ok. He has slept through the next feed anyway. He'll wake up screaming FOR SURE!
Does anyone know much about babies and noise? I'd like to go to the Grand Prix next week and want to take BTK. I was taken as a baby but what's the deal? It's REALLY noisy. Any opinions on that?
Um, oh yeah, I put some more pics of Billy up on my facebook if anyone wants to have a look. I should really make separate albums according to his age but I couldn't be stuffed so sorry, you'll have to wade through them.
Well, I hope everyone's having a wonderful day. I hope I didn't miss anyone either. I even had 2 windows open and it didn't give me a breakdown!
I'll be back later.

Right, all afternoon I have been trying to get her to sleep. I put her down wrapped, unwrapped, after a feed, after a cuddle, in the aircon, not in aircon, lullaby cd going, complete silence. I GIVE UP! Each time she is asleep in my arms I put her down- maximum 10mins later she is awake. I leave her till she is crying, have tried patting and reassuring then leaving again. Tried a little cuddle then down again. Nothing works to give this girl a decent daytime sleep. Its why we have such aweful evenings cause she is so tired after the daytime. (at least she sleeps overnight- eventually)
I am so jealous of you guys who get your bubs to sleep afternoons and evenings. It is so rare for Addy to sleep then.
Yes, now we are crying and thrashing out of her wrap!
Quickly- Sazz, great photos, she is gorgeous!
Kate, great new pic on ticker! Sammy is great with Addy, tries to lick her. But is a little sulky and mildly jealous- just tries to get into mum for cuddles too!!
QM-I love the name Scarlett, it was on my shortlist!
Carol-I have tried searching for a local mothers group cant find one. Playgroups Aus have plenty nearby, but I want a group with new mums and babies that i can really talk to, Playgroups go to 5 years old, you have to pay for the session and they are in halls etc. (I had more private homes and coffee shops in mind)
Jo- i think the best place to meet might be your place one day. (cause you cant get around) Fridays are good for Carol I think, and I can make Fridays. What about a week or two after Easter? Nik may be able to drive from GC, Karen may be able to make it?? Anyone else? Bindy at Albany Creek
Gotta go, we have reached cresendo pitch.
-
Mary- sounds like a date ;), just let me know when everyones happy with, if we have a catch up at my place i'll have some nibblies and tea/cofee etc. Any day of the week is good for me unless we have a dr appt or something that comes up but i'll let you all know in advance.
Nik- Yeah it is hard to put my foot down sometimes and tell Chris to get stuffed etc. Your are right we are lucky we get to spend so much time with our bubbas and cant take alot of credit for bringing them up. I dont know if Chris is jealous but every chance shes awake when hes home he wants to cuddle and play with her. Even having a shower & getting my hair washed some days feels like an achievement especially when it's uninterrupted. I had a play with the straps on my carrier before while Sophie was still sleeping and it feels much more comfy now. They are handy especially when bubs is being unsettled and wont let you put them down. Yeah i thought it was great that she slept that long i was a little worried at first kept poking her to make sure she was breathing.
Kate- Yep i'm a novelist too haha, teach me to come in more often. Yeah i couldnt believe he said it either, we were arguing in the car he was saying i dont do anything all day and just sit on BB but when were still getting the cleaner every fortnight it doesnt leave alot for me to do as they do everything. Yes luckily i dont have a bad temper i just yella little bit and hit out, i'm extremely tempted to leave him at home for 1 day maybe then he'll wake up smell the coffee and realise that although i dont earn $70,000 plus a year like him i do have a job to do during the day, men can be cr@p. Thats what i thought about the formula i just wanted to check what you were doing, there are alot of opinions out there from the hospital, health nurse, dr gets a bit confusing.I was shocked that Sophie slept that long because usually the most i can get from her is 5hrs, it did give me quite a fright i had to get up at 5am anyway to make sure Chris got up for a shower and went to work. Hopefully BTK sleeps longer soon. I looked at your photos but couldnt post comments :(, bummer that BTK has been so unsettled. Sophie slept through her lunch feed also when i woke her up i bathed her (she wasnt happy),i was going to bath her last night but our water was turned off a main ruptured in a suburb close by (no idea why it affected us) so couldnt bath her before bed. Nice one on the weight/growth gains!!. I'm going to get Sophie checked at the chemist tomorrow after our dr appt as the nurse at the drs will only weigh Sophie with her clothes on and the chemist weighs and measures her.
Can i write a post without writing a chapter for a novel ;):redface:

afternoon girls
jaylen is finally asleep, well stirring a bit but oh well...
got a breastpump and a baby carrier thing off a workmate of mums, $90 for both! breastpump is a avent manual one and the carrier is awsome, the brand is tony safari or sumfin and its black on the outside and leopard print on the inside, its awsome lol!
is expressing supposed to hurt a bit, i tried expressing some b4, got about 20mls in a few mins but it hurt a bit... i spose it is 'sucking' a fair bit!
also bought myself some black pants, thats all i wear lol, and some of that bedtime bath... going to try start a routine at night, bath with that stuff, big feed, then bed... hope it doesnt mess with the 'kinda routine' thing we have going atm... he usally feeds at about 9 or 10 and sleeps till about 1 or 2...
nik - 7cm in 8 weeks! yay! i got the nurse coming on wed so i will find out some stuff then, he has grown heaps i reckon, nearly out of all his 0000
saz - yer i just have to be out of the house or i go insane hehe! but i dont think i will do much 2morrow and over the weekend cuz its going to be hot and jaylen REALLY hates the heat
jo - ohhh i know i just dont havwe the time to come on here and chat anymore, if hes sleeping im either sleeping or eating or doing a bit of housework or something!
kate - yer i would go to the grand prix! they have to fit in with ur scedule haha! but yer i know people who take their lil bubs to the speedway ect, should b right, i listened to music deafly loud and went to the speedway a few times when i was preg, so they can hear in there!
ohh jaylen never settles in the morn.. wakes up about 5 or 6am and WONT go to sleep after that in his bassinett soi just get up and watch sunrise and the morning show lol and he goes to sleep on me sometimes...
i think i wanna start going to the gym... but i dont wanna go by myself lol, and if i go with mum, i havent got ne1 to look after jaylen! not ready to let sum1 i dont know look after him yet lol! might just go 4 a walk every day...
ohh sorry if i missed anyone, jaylens started crying!

Mary - poor you trying to get Addy to have a daytime sleep. I'm struggling with Billy at the moment and then, like Addy, if he's awake most of the day, he screams his guts out in the evening, like last night. It's awful. I am just persisting and seeing what happens. Sounds like you've tried everything.
Ocean is EXACTLY the same as Sammy by the sounds of it. She's licked Billy's feet a few times. He just kicks her! She doesn't care. Too funny. He likes staring at her actually. Today I had him nuded up on the floor and he wee'd on the towel and she just lay there sniffing the towel!
Hey, what if BTK and I fly up to QLD? How cool would THAT be? Just need to con everyone else into it! :) Doesn't cost anything to fly with a bub, does it? OMG, imagine if he did that scream the whole way? I'm thinking of taking him to Texas and Toronto next year - imagine he screamed the whole way over there? OMG! I've been on flights from London to Melbourne with screaming kids and I had no sympathy for the parents, I only cared about myself... now I feel differently.
Jess, the carrier sounds great! Good one. The expressing did feel a LITTLE uncomfortable for me too. However, if you've got thrush, I reckon it would hurt more. Can you adjust the suction level or not? Michael just told me he's got a ticket to the GP through a client in a marquee! I'm SO jealous. He said he'd take me if he could but they only had one ticket. I'll go anyway, general admission for the qualifying day on the Friday, which is when he's going. He's not a F1 fan like me, not as obsessed as me anyway. I explained to him that it would be like me getting to go to Bathurst in a marquee. Maybe I could get BTK some ear muffs! pmsl
You're the opposite to me with the gym. I'd HATE going with anyone else. I like being there alone. I feel so self conscious anyway. Oh that just reminded me of how worried I was about giving birth and people seeing etc. At one point I remember both my mates and my Mum there and my legs up in the stirrups and me not even giving a sh*t. Was it Maz who said we wouldn't care if we were wearing a chicken suit? She was right. ;)
I'm seriously going to look at the cost of flights to Brisvegas. I used to fly up there all the time - dated a guy from Toowoomba. Must be time for another visit! Oh, maybe a night on the Gold Coast? pmsl Yeah, in my dreams, when I'm rich!
OK, shutting up now. Where's our Jen?
Back later.

OMG i felt that ay about birth as well, thougt that i wouldnt want anyone looking, but i didnt give a rats a$$ !!
-
How awesome would that be for you and BTK to make a gathering here in Brisvegas!! We would put one on specially of course!
Right DH has just gotten home and taken the screamer for awhile. She is now overtired and i reckon we will be in for long evening. I will keep persevering and putting her down in the bassinette regularly.
Does anyone have a baby that 'puts themselves to sleep' ???? Addy has never done that. She either falls asleep on the boob or being cuddled. Tell me what to do to make this happen??
