Hi all!
Welcome BBwish, how cool, our first member not living in Australia! Sounds like all the same probs over there!!
My bub too feeds 2-3hrly in the days and rarely sleeps more than 4-5 hours in the first stretch overnight then has a second 3-4 hr stretch. She is fully BB fed so that explains the frequent daytime feeding for us.
My Dh is pretty good , but he does work long hours. I put him on duty when he comes home though. And he wants to play golf every saturday, but I have put my foot down and said not every week. I have negotiated to have a couple of hours each week of me time, when I leave her with him.
Sazz, last saturday when I was heading out for a coupple of hours, my hubby said you cant go till I have a shower. I said no, I am leaving- how do you think I have a shower each morning by myself!! They really dont have any idea. I am gettin g better at doing all the house jobs that need doing, but if he is looking after her Nothing else gets done!!
April, Addy has had blocked tear ducts since birth, she gets the teary eyes and discharge there. The paediatrician told me not to do anything, just clean them and they resolve by themselves usually. He said after 6 months he might refer to an eye doctor, but they dont do anything till 12 months (insert a little wire to clear the duct) I am crossing the fingers they clear themselves!!
Anyway, we are going ok, still waiting to see if the reflux meds really make a difference.
Gotta go and get some sleep

Addy is asleep, again, she must be having her catch up sleep day. Oh and she slept through last nigt for the first time. Didnt wake for a feed. I did though, my bbs were leaking everywhere and so engorged. It sucks that she can sleep through but I cant!! What has others done about this?

Hi everyone!
Well, have finally worked out why Amy is so grizzly this week. She just gets really tired really quickly! I think it's cos she's so interested in everything now that she gets overstimulated. So have been putting her down as soon as she gets grizzly and after a bit of crying she crashes. Am really wanting to start putting her to bed without wrapping but not sure whether it will work. She sleeps in her carseat just fine though so maybe it will.....who knows!?
Oh my god, there have been so many posts. Not sure I can keep up....
Maz - nice one on pj's at 2pm! I haven't done that for a while either. Although I had my fair share of days like that in the first 8 weeks! So glad everything is going well with the physio xx
Loren - Amy is a mega escape artist too when it comes to her wraps. I'd love to not wrap her. Need to buy those sleeping bags and see if that works for winter.....
bbwish - DH was exactly the same. I had to chat to him about it the other day. I think it's because they aren't getting much back from bub that they would rather do something else. Plus DH said that because he knows I'm capable enough, he doesn't feel like he has to help me. I said that I want him to do more with us cos I want Amy to get used to him doing things too. As soon as we had that chat and he has been holding Amy more etc she smiles at him a lot more and is genuinely happy to see him. I guess guys just don't know their place with bubs until they can start playing with them.........
Jess - glad jaylen was ok after his needles. 8 weeks!! It goes fast doesn't it!?
Lunesoleil - i don't wake Amy for feeds anymore. I did that for the first 8 weeks and got so over it. She tells me when she's hungry now and we're both happier for it....I totally know what it feels like to stress about weight gain. I've only just stopped in the past two weeks.
oh dear, amy's whnging again.....sorry to miss all u other ladies. i'm thinking of u all....will b back later xxxxx
-
Nik - Mateauz hasnt been wrapped since he was 3 weeks old. I didnt even bother doing it in hospital cause he has drips ect hanging off him. I just tuck him into his cot with the sheet and a minkee blanket up enough to keep him warm. He rolls on his side to so I tuck him in tight. I found him half way up the cot the other morning...wiggled his bum that much. Just go with the flow babe. Yourve done a wonderful job in recognising that Amy is getting tired. The sleeping bags are a great idea to...Im spewing cause I just got rid of all of Vy's old ones (they were pink)...I could have passed them onto you.
Little man is back asleep - he must be having a growth spurt. Sadly he's 12 1/2 weeks...it makes me so sad but he is still so little. He is still wearing 000. I bought a cow print all in one from Target in size 000 and I have to roll the sleeves up.
ok off to try and tackle the biggest pile of washing! BLAH

Hi ladies!!
I have been AWOL as we've moved & before we moved Scarlett was having a terrible time but we're back & better than ever, lol, sounds like an ad for some aging rockers or something!!
Anywho, we're in Melbourne & any of you that live here can agree with me that the weather has been CRAZY!!
Scarlett has gotten sooooooo much better with feeding and sleeping just in the last 2 weeks, she just woke up happy one day, not a moment too soon!!
There is no way in hell I'll be able to catch up with everyone so I'm starting again, from NOW lol.
Hope everyone & their bubs are doing great!

Oh my god, I just did a big post and lost it! Damn it!!!! Will try to remember what I typed.....
Maz - Amy is still in 000's too and her and Mateauz are only 1 day apart. I was so excited about her growing into her 000's. Please don't be sad. Our bubs are just meant to be little. Mateauz is doing so well and only because you are such a wonderful mum. I don't know how you do it. I am in awe of you, seriously.
Queen - welcome back! So glad to hear Scarlett is going better and I hope the move went well.
Well, better get going seeing as I've spent way too much time on here already typing my last post damn it. Have a great night ladies xxxxx Nik and Amy zzzz
-
QB - hi ya chickie - hope the move went really well. Are you up my neck of the woods or Melbourne central? Fantastic to hear that Scarlett is so happy matie.
Nik - pmsl, I felt liek throwing a party for AMat when he got into his ooo's aswell. He has been given so many 00 clothes that im not going to have to buy him a thing.
Hello everyone..were are you all? this use to be the quickest thread. I have showered honestly I dont smell anymore.
Little man has slept from 10 until 7am the last 2 mornings so ive been wkaing with a headache due to having to much sleep. pmsl cant win can we

Hi everyone!
I was the same with the 000 size too.. because we were given sooo many cute outfits in that size but all summery and she still doesnt fit some of them but it's too cold for most of them now: several things she didnt even put on once :( Oh well, just have to have another girl a bit earlier in the season hehehe.
Maz, I am freaked out how many things we do the same matey!!! I bought that target outfit too but got the two piece with the hood. I thought it was cow print till I noticed the paw prints on the feet: I think its meant to be dalmation. I keep saving it for when she will be seen in it but I am going to just use it now... same as your nappy cover, I cant stop patting it!!!
Attention anyone who wants a nice nappy cover for cloth or just to show off a cute bum: get a maz-a-licious, they're devine!;)
Had Celeste weighed this week (did I tell you that already? dont know) she is now 4.48kg. Smallest in my mums group even though some bubs are a month younger hehe.
I am loving my ring sling these days. I only have a hatchback car (till next week when we pick up our new commodore wagon) and if Im doing a lot of shopping I leave the pram at home cause I cant fit anything else in the car. I use the sling and get soooo many cute looks from people cause Celeste looks so small and cute cuddled up like a Koala in it. She loves it cause she can look around everywhere or go to sleep on my BB when ever she wants.
Ah, nothing else to report really. Got rellies coming over again today. Glad I did all the housework yesterday. I get that happy feeling when the house is all sparkly.
OO roo everyone!

Maz- Things in my neck of the woods is good, Chris worked long hours this past week as they had a traffic change to do so Sophie & I didnt get to see much of him, they were having a cuddle in bed the other night and Sophie was making noises/babbling to him like they were having a proper conversation so i told him to answer her as it encourages her to talk (so i've been told). Sophie is still in 000's and the pink pants you sent her are 0000's and she still fits into them. PMSL of course we wouldnt run away whether you'd showered or not, Sophie has been playing awake/asleep/awake/asleep since 6am she thinks its hilarious me not so much haha.
April- Sophie had a weepy eye for the 1st month of so & the dr gave us eye drops for 5 days, and then i just cleaned it with pre-boiled water a few times a day until it cleared, has been good for about 6weeks now.
bbwish- my DF too expects me to take Sophie to him, i just say to him "you've got 2 arms, 2 legs & a heartbeat that all work fine so get off your butt' haha. Luckily if i has DF to look after her while i shower, wash bottles or anything else he doesnt go anywhere until i've done what i wanted & when i'm finished only then does he go for a smoke. And when she cries he doesnt pick her up straight away but if she keeps crying he will pick her up.
Jess- Sophie is awake more during the day too, and belts the poor octopus on the activity mat haha. She also loves to watch the tv because of the colours & all the movement shes always laughing at the footy when we watch. Like today Sophie decided 5.30am was a GREAT time to wake up, so we've had a earlier than normal start to the day, she hasnt woken this early in several weeks now. Thanks for letting us know about Kate she sent me a message on the weekend (i think) and i had no credit as i forgot to recharge it grr so hopefully she doesnt think i was being rude.
Nik- i too dont wake Sophie for feeds anymore havent for about 2 weeks or so now. I feed her between 7-8pm and and put her to bed and let her wake me, because she just wasnt taking the whole bottle i was lucky to get her to take half of it. I still wrap Sophie, but if shes awake her arms come straight out if shes tired she lets me wrap her but as soon as she wakes up shes trying to free her arms haha.
QueenMab- Welcome Back!, good to hear Scarlett is better than she has been for you. Hope the move went well.
HELLO to everyone else :D

Good afternoon ladies,
Well it is pretty quiet in here today. Probably because it's the weekend.
Have got my Hens Night tonight!!! Looking forward to seeing all my friends and having a couple of drinks or 10! hehehe It's definately going to feel weird going out without Bodie, I will miss him. This will be the first time I've gone out in about a year & a half.
We went to Babies Galore today and brought Bodie a Bumbo baby seat. If anyone wants to have a look the website is Bumbo Baby Seat Introduces the Official Bumbo Play Tray
You can start putting bub's in from 3 months to 18months. Bodie seems to like it, he holds his head up pretty well now. You can also take them anywhere with you because there made from hard rubber and there very light.
Oh... I posted some pics the other day in my BB gallery and was just looking around at other pics when I came across a positive pregnancy test from AnnaT! She's due with baby #3 in December. Anna if your lerking around Congratulations! You certainly didn't muck around hun. hehe
Jess: Awww your good mate must see how good of a mum you are. Hope it works out for you guys.
Anyway's better go and see if I can have a sleep before I go out.
xo

Maz, we're in Blackburn... you are out further am I right? We are just renting & as DP found the house by himself it is hella NASTY... oh I can't even go into how bad it is right now, but bad!!
Apes, I got Scally a bumbo seat too, got mine from big w for $49.95 which I thought was good as they're that much on ebay & I rang around & some places had them for $79.95!! She's a bit unsure of it but is okay if you talk to her, ie; "Who's sitting up all by herself?!" lol. She looks positively teeny in it though! Hope your hens night is great!
Sazz - I agree with you; Maz does make some lovely covers!! Scarlett's grown out of the ones I got for her though, will have to try to russle up some dollars for some more - LOVE the arabian nights plushie... *drool*
Uh oh, baby alarm!! Better go, will try to BBL...
-
Hi ladies,
Amy was up at 2am this morning and then decided to wake every hour until I finally gave in and fed her at 4.30am. I was just so over it by that time. Then after a feed she slept until 7am so at least I got a couple of hours sleep after the feed. It was so frustrating because I knew she didn't need a feed in the middle of the night but she kept getting out of her wrap!! Grrrr. Had a good day today though. I've worked out that as soon as she yawns I put her to bed and she seems to go to sleep without too much fuss (it worked today anyway. I'm sure tomorrow will be different! Hehehehe).
Maz - Amy mainly got given 000's so I've had to buy her a fair few 00 things. Plus no one really bought her warm stuff so I went and bought some 00 warm stuff. I don't have enough stuff though.....we'll see when it gets cooler....it seems to be getting cooler this week.....Love the pic of Mateauz on your ticker. He is such a gorgeous little man. Nice one on him sleeping! Bummer about the headache....but hey would rather a head ache from too much sleep than too little sleep!
Sazz - I know what you mean about having things that weren't worn. I've been hopeless and made sure Amy has worn everything at least once. There are a lot of things that she only wore once. I've been keeping the special outfits for when we go out but really I should just dress her up in the nice stuff all the time so it actually gets worn!! Some of the dresses she's been given are just so gorgeous but too cold now. Maybe I should buy some leggings to wear under them.....and maybe some skivvies......I wish Amy liked her sling....maybe she will now that she has a bit more head control....might give it another go......
Jo - looooove your pics on Facebook. Sophie is just so adorable!! I had to wake Amy for every feed for the first six weeks so it was absolute heaven when I didn't have to do that anymore. There was a stage there where I was getting a 45 min break max between 3hrly feeds. It nearly did my head in! It would take me so long to get her settled and then 45 min later I'd have to wake her up! I LOOOOOVE not having to wake her up now.
Jess - that's great that your guy is so keen on you. I'm not ready for another bub yet either. I need the memory of the stress of the first 8 weeks to fade before I go there again. The labour was nothing compared to those first 8 weeks.....maybe the next one won't be so stressful when it comes to feeding and being early.....I hope your man doesn't have to move away from you.
April - Have an absolute BLAST at your hen's night! Looking forward to hearing about it. I had so much fun at mine. Geez your wedding is coming up fast. How exciting! I just realised that it's DH and my first anniversary in a couple of weeks! Wow! It goes so fast! Hope you got a sleep before you went out. I've seen those Bumbo seats but didn't realise they were special seats. They look like potties!!! Hehehehehe. I might look into getting one.....
Ok, well I'm going to go chill out and maybe have a glass of wine.....Amy's crashed out. will be interesting to see what she does tonight.....Have a great night ladies xxx Nik and Amy

Hi mummies!
Hawksey, just put some breastmilk in her eye! ds had a blocked tear duct and actually had pus in his eye! I just cleaned it with bm and it went away and never came back! bm is antibacterial and works a treat for al sorts of things really. My lc even told me to practice to aim when hand expressing so that I can spray it up his nose in case he gets a cold! It makes his bogies more soft and as it has antibodies, it fights the cold too. Havent tried that yet tho.
I used to wrap ds but since yesterday he's in a sleeping bag and he's doing just aswell. I just have to make sure he doesnt get overstimulated.
Hmm its been raining all day so no exercise for me unfortunately, i love our walks together!
Thanks everyone for reassuring me that dh behaviour is quite normal. I got really angry at him the other day! I asked him whether he wanted to change ds nappy or start dinner. He said he was gonna have a smoke first! So I said wtf? I'll just do both then! he immediately followed me to the nursery and changed ds nappy!
We now agreed to keep saturday night for just us (i work in a hotel but wont work saturdays/sunday mornings so that;ll be good) and eat at the table instead of in front of the telly so as to be more of a family really. Coz I really want a cozy, warm family I didnt just want a baby!
My wish for all of us: a night of uninterupted sleep for about 8 hours straight!
