We just had a holiday to Sydney and its taking ages to recover Michelle so I hear you.
Matilda has started doing her extreme tantrums again since the holiday and I am pulling my hair out. I can handle normal tantrums its just the self harm business that I'm over. Ah well... have to pull out all the hard work AGAIN....
Huhs Christy, hope it settles again soon, is always harder when you are exhausted of course.

Got stacks of work on and trying to catch up on the washing and housewok and get the kids to their things on time. We finally found the perfect van to put on our site for holidays, so things are great here. But still very tired. Mother's day just around the corner girls, anyone getting something cool??? Not sure about me....shopping tomorrow am going to buy myself something if I see it told aron just to get me one thing that shows some thought and I will be grateful.

Just a quick post from me, got to dash and get showered as I have to take Wolf to kindy in 20 mins. He is liking it now and does not cry anymore (thank god). He has made some friends and it's all going well but I still will only have him go 3 mornings a week. He will go 5 mornings a week from January (to a different kindy) but won't do afternoons just yet. I think he is still too little for that and needs to come home at lunch time (and needs his 2 hour afternoon nap)
Wolf is counting to 12 as well but I have the feeling that it doesn't mean anything. I think he is just repeating the order and it doesn't actually mean much to him. If I try to actually get him to count items, he often gets it wrong. I think he can count til 2 or 3 but after that will forget to count items or count them twice. But I think it's a bit early anyway to count properly, hey?
Also, he does not seem to be able to tell colours. He knows the names but he never knows which colour is which. I sometimes worry he might be colourblind but he can't be seeing that it's DH's family that is colourblind and not mine and boys can only get it from their mom as it's passed on on the X chromosome... hmmmmmm

You are so lucky to be able to take him so often to kinder. The one Brandon goes to only offers 2 1/2 hours a week for the 3yos, there's a morning and afternoon, but they are seperate groups. Brandon went by himself without me staying for the first time on Monday, and he seemed to have a ball. Threw a bit of a hissy fit when Anna and I came to pick him up...he didn't want to go home. When we got to our gate, I told him to hold on to Anna's stroller, so she wouldn't go anywhere (more so that he wouldn't wander off while I unlocked the gate lol) and he gave her a hug. I asked him if he'd missed Anna, and he said yes. Awww....then I asked if he'd missed me, or his dad, and he said no to both! Well, at least he's close to his sister :rolleyes:

Zara is sick today, 39.3 fever. Wolf is fine... I hope it's just a one day thing.
I took off Wolf's nappy on Sunday and asked him to tell me when he had to pee and it went in the pants again even though I had just asked him 2 mins before it happened. He is definitely not ready yet. :( Feeling a bit sad about it but I guess it will just happen when he is ready... maybe I should just let it go...

Just wondering how everyones toddlers were fairing.Millana is 2 1/2 and last night slept for the first time with out her gaga(dummy) which was sad as she is growing up and its just another step from being away from my babygirl. I am toilet training her and she will go on the potty but always does a little wee in her undies first? Is this normal? She refuses to go to the toilet when out and about and have started letting her wear knickers when we walk to nanas or the park to train her? Then the bottles,she has 2 in a 24hr period.Its just a comfort thing and i dont want to take everything off her at once! Whats everyone elses toddlers vices?

Jessica still has her dummy and I am going to take it away when she is 3. Joshua had his bottle, bed time only until he was 3. Most do have something as a vice. I would put pants on whenever you can, one day she'll just click

finally have 5mins to type something!! eliana still isnt much interested in the except at daycare (which is only one day a week) she has gone up to the 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 year old room & i guess seeing more kids use the toilet she does wees there - ive decided from next week i will put her on the loo every hour & hope something happens!! other than that she is doing well when not tormenting her sister!! she counts to 20 but will also count things that far like her pencils & can count backwards from 10 (got that from her cousins video) elysia has finally put on some weight though 5 weeks old & still not back to her birth weight - she is doing well in everything else so im not overly worried - im busy house hunting have decided to give it another go with the girls dad & move back to brisbane - it is sooooooooooo hard doing this by myself plus i have been sick with either a cold or mastitis twice since elysia was born - at least the days are still warm here

I have been trying to potty train Oscar for a week and a bit. If i put him on the potty he will quite often wee but won't go on or tell me himself if he needs to go and just wees his pants. He has been dry for the past 5 nights and holds it in until i put him on the potty when he gets up and lets it all out so im sure he knows what the sensations are. i'm getting so frustrated that he's not telling me he wants to go though am outwardly remainly calm as i don't want to give him issues. The poo thing is just not happening, pants floor and nappy, never potty but i know that comes later so am not too worried.
He can count to 7 and knows his colours including black, white and purple, and most of his shapes although his favourite word at the mo is triangle so lots of things are that!
Snowgirl - hope Zara gets better soon, thats quite a high temp. Osc does the same as wolf - ill ask and he says no then 30 secs later he pees his pants. He is going through such an argumentative stage though that i don't know if he's saying no because he doesnt think he needs to go or just to be difficult! (He argues which way we we turn out of his dad's work every night even tough we always go the same way then throws an epi when we don't go his way!)

Thats what millana does! She will say no,run off then 5 min later pee her pants.Im back to resorting to stickers if she does a wee on the potty.Does anyone else use forms of bribes?I dont know what else to do.(LOL)
oh yes - we have stickers too - and i'm tending to let him watch more cartoons to get him to sit down, although he's now getting the picture abit more so i'm cutting back on those but definately still the stickers!
Maybe when you ask and they say no, give it a go anyway, then you might catch it lol

Osc always says no but i still put him on it and most of the time he doesn't fight me and guess what - tonight he did a poo!!! i was so pleased and proud of the little man - has was pleased as punch too. Good job id bought some weetbix kids yesterday that had some free wiggles stickers in it so i could give him a better one than the wee stickers!

Hey there... LOL @ all the TT stories.
Matilda had been going really well & got a smartie everytime she did anything on the toilet. Unfortunately she decided poos are for nappes so we have yet to win that battle. Then last week she decided that she didn't like the toilet at home. She won't use a potty or the toilet seat we bought. She said she wants a smaller toilet :rolleyes: like at kindy. Ah well.... we'll get her back into it. I think alot has to do with it getting colder.
arrrrrrrrg, my neighbour's boys (4 but disabled and 2 years and 3 months) both nappy free since last week. BOOM they can do it... Wolf refuses to take off his nappies these days... I know it's not a competition but I can't help feeling bummed.
My other neighbour's 22 month old is also nappy free... for a while actually. It's just a tad frustrating... I am just a bit relieved that my 3rd neighbour's daughter who is 2 months older is not interested, just like Wolf.
The other day, when it was really hot, I actually took off his nappies and he POOED on the floor. I only noticed because he went "uh oh, I've got to pee, mama"
I turned to look and there were 2 little rabbit poos on the floor. Then the next day, he actually dropped one on the floor while he was getting books out of the bookshelf. I have the feeling he does not notice poo coming at all. I thought poo would be more obvious to feel? Who knows... oh well... he is barely 2.5 years so I should probably relax but I just feel so weird when everyone around me with younger kids has them toilet trained...

Other than that all is well. Wolf is so cute, I could just eat him up sometimes. He kisses me often and tells me out of the blue that he loves me and I just adore those moments. I wish he could stay this age forever... I love him so much.
Zara is so funny, she cracks me up. Today she took Spiderman and taunted Wolf with it and then ran off. Wolf ran after her and both ran around me, sitting on the floor and Zara was just cackling. She thought it was the funniest thing how she had made him chase her and get angry. Sneaky little minks.

That sounds adorable snowy! Well my 2 are minks too.I had a tent inside(pop up one) and they were both in there.All was quiet so i went to investigate and millana had squirreled wiggles bickies from the cupboard and they were both having a picnic in there! was so cute and i was lucky to get pics!
And millana is doing so-so with toilet training too.When i put big girl undies on she says millana do wee wee on potty,big girl but she tends to forget and will wee in her pants first and the rest in the potty.Ive started a sticker chart but its only working some of the time.I feel like im a bad mum and havnt been strict enough but i dont want to force her either.Pooey what others think i suppose!

I have been trying to catch up on everybody's bubba's, they all sound so happy and healthy!
Aidan is wonderful, a real Mummy's boy, but is coming out of his shell more and more. Seems to be very gently and loving, always kissing his baby brother. He counts very well, up till 13 and then gets lost!, knows the main colours and loves singing the alphabet, he recognises a few letters, his favourite is 'dubblewoo'! Def not ready to be toilet trained, did one wee on the toilet about 4 months ago but is showing no 'ready' signs at all. But I am going to start sitting him on the toilet before bed every night. He still has a day sleep, around 2hours. So much more I could tell you!
Hi Caddie, good to hear from you again!! So cute re. the both of them in the tent with a pack of cookies :) Wolf had this day the other day where he just kept kissing Zara and when I had her on my arm he said "Give me my sister, I want to kiss her" .. :D
Hi Jessica! Very clever of Aiden with the counting. I find Wolf can recite the numbers but if I put things in front of him to count, he can't count past 2 or 3 (he just keeps rattling out numbers even though there is just 3 items there).. I guess they will learn it later?

Hi Snowy, I love the ticker pic, they are both adorable! When Aidan counts he points to each thing, so I think he knows what he is doing, which I thought was pretty amazing! On the other hand I was for awhile worried about his socialisation, he was very clingy and not confident, but that seems have turned around only in the past month. I still find he cries more than other kids his age, i.e. if he is fighting with another kid for a toy, he will give up and cry, whereas the other kid will perserve, or just get over it! He talks really well but I still think he gets frustrated (he is gentle but on the other hand he is a bit 'pushy' with kids when he wants something'). I am hoping he can find a balance of confident but not pushy soon!
I everyone! OMG it has been so long since I was in here...Since I had Matilda I really haven't been on here much except for the last week or so and I feel like I have missed so much that has been going on. I am so sorry that Mooshie left, I am feeling a bit down that I didn't really chat with her at all in the last few months :(
Well things here are fine. Grace is gorgeous and a terror all at once! Hee hee. Toilet training isn't really happening, well it is but verrrry slowly. She still wants to wear nappies but every now and then she will wear her knickers and do wees in her potty. She knows what to do - just doesn't want to do it!
She talks beautifully and has some fantastic tanties at times too. She loves going to kindy to drop Harry off - she can't wait until she can go, but that won't be until 2009. But it is a fantastic kindy.

Just an update on Lily.
Her talking has taken off like a rocket. She never shuts up lol. She has great manners. She can count to 5 and can count down from 3. Like 3,2,1. Very clever. Fav thing at the moment is Tigger. all she does is bounce around going 'boing boing like tigger' Thinking i may have to make a tigger b'day cake for her!
The tantrums have died down quite a lot which is good. although she's very jealous of Charlie at times. the other day he was stand up holding onto the lounge and she pushed him in the head to make him fall. Poor little thing. But after a time out she did say sorry and gave him a hug.
Anyway that's all for now, better go.

OMG Wow Wow Wubzy, wierdest show! Harry (4) likes it more than Grace though. She went through a phase of loving Booh Bah - now that show is bizarre. Whoever created that must be on something lol!
Lily loves Wubbzy too. But her fav is spongebob. We always have to watch it at least 3 times a day! Get's a bit annoying.

How is everyone?
We had our first Parent Teacher conference yesterday. Woo hoo, exciting. Wolf is excellent in most areas but can't tell colours or shapes properly (but then again that's not surprising seeing he is only 2.5 years, but they thought because he talks so well, he'd be able to do that too) Nevertheless, he will "graduate" from playgroup to pre-school, which is cool. He will be the youngest there but I think he will enjoy being with older kids. ALSO, they had this piece of paper with shapes on it and he was asked to name them. He recognized the star and the circle (well, he said ball but hey, close enough) and when he saw the heart he said "for mummy" :) isn't that sweet?? I got all misty eyed when they told me.
Other than that not much to report. No advances on TT (I keep on luring him with getting a bike, argueing that you can't ride one with a nappy on).

Well, Wolf is fully toilet trained. It just happened like that. 1 week after my last post he told me, after we had been to the lake, that he didn't want to wear his nappy anymore. *BOOM* it's like someone flicked a switch and he was able to even do naps without a nappy. He struggled a bit with the poo for 10 days but now that is covered too. I am so amazed at how effortless and quickly it happend ...
I guess now I have to go and buy him that bicycle, hey? lol

I'm still around. Great news on Wolf TT just like that - thats great - can he come talk to Oscar? Oscar will do all his wees on the potty if i put him there but will never tell me if he wants to go and if i ask he will say no - i have to just put him on every 45 mins or so. He's done 3 poos in the potty in about 1 1/2 months and thats it. I'm getting pretty frustrated but i know there's no point - just hope he hurries up and gets with it!
On the positive he's great with his counting, colours, shapes, numbers and his sense of humour is just so funny.
His attitude can be awful one day and great the next - as forest gump said - his mood is 'like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get'!!!

I don't come on much anymore, have been browsing here and in large families but just have so much going on and not much time to post.

well, we had 1 week of Wolf regressing back into nappies when he had diarrhea (can't blame him though). He was a bit scarred when he pooed on the floor and in his pants twice when I think he thought it was "just a fart" but now everything is back to normal. (though we sometimes lose "a nugget" every now and then when he is preoccupied... lol, so embarrasing when it's in public...)
I certainly hope they won't close us down but seeing that we all don't post too frequently anymore, I wouldn't be surprised... fingers crossed they won't...
The weather has been awful here for 3 weeks and we all had a nasty cold. Today though it will be 32 deg, so I am glad the weather gods have taken pity on the school kids who are having their first day of summer holidays today. I heard Sydney had some bad weather too?

School hols is just finishing here, so I am happy. Jordan back to high school, Josh bac to PS and Jemma off to kinder, 2 long days for the rest of the yr instead of 3 x 3hrs. Tomorrow it will be me and Jess from 9 till 2pm, will be strange really.
Jessica is such a cutie, and the stories she tlls are gorgeous. Shetold me yesterday she would like REAL fairy wings for her bday cos her fairy wings don't make you fly ....lol
I have 100% confirmed Jordan doesn't believe in Santa Easter bunny or tooth fairy anymore. SO that has been sad for her and I lol
Joshua had his 8th bday yesterday, Time just keeps marching on in our house.

things a bit hectic here as we just moved house so have millions of boxes to unpack & ive decided to get rid of heaps of stuff - dont realise how much you have till you have to pack it all up
eliana is going well - though not too good with the TT think she is just a big lazy & always seems to want to go when im feeding elysia - eliana still lashes out at her sister so im hoping it will pass soon
we have just come back from a week at a resort at mooloolaba with my best friend from sydney & her two sons so it was a great girls getaway even though it was practically in my backyard!
hope everyone had a great weekend & that their week is going well so far
Mel- hope the move has been smooth, I hate moving. Sibling rivalry is lovely, but it will pass. And Eliana prob will tt whaen she wants too. Good to hear from you

pmsl yeah maybe. Somekids just aren't ready unfortunately. Both Jordan trained at 2 and a half within 2 weeks, but Josh I tried at the same age and nothing, I waited another 2 or 3 mths bf trying again and he just did it.
Jemma and Jessica were both freaks lol started at 19mths and day trained at 21 and 22mths. I was shocked. They had the big kids to follow though, think eldest childrne don't have that influence
