She is feeding so much lately 9pm, 2-4am last night then 7am, then just waiting for her to wake now... im knackered, she hasnt really got a set timing yet, our LC said to feed her no later than 10pm so she can get the 2-3am dream feed right then she hopefully will sleep to 7am and then after few weeks drop the 2-3am feed and sleep through, heres hoping!

Hello yummy mummy's,
I hope you are all doing really well and that you all had a good night with your princesses and princes.
Well yesterday Isabel had her health nurse apt and everything went well. She hasn't put on as much weight as they would like (only 120 grams) in 6 days so I was asked to up her formula amount. we will see how she goes by her next apt. But she is now 51.5cm long and HC is 36cm which I'm really happy about. I walked to the appointment and it did hurt a little but I did enjoy getting out.
Belle - Isabel is doing really well at night. Her night feed was 11:30pm, 3:30am, and 8:40am today so I think that's pretty good. I'm getting some sleep which helps me during the day. How is Tara doing??
Mel - WELCOME BACK :p so good to see you again. By the way Mehkelti is just gorgeous I love your ticker sweet. I would say take it easy now that your at home cause you really don't want to open that scar up it will take longer for you to recover sweet. I know that it might be hard but you'll have to take a back seat and let others do things for you.
Pam - I hope that the LC is able to help you out sweet so that you can get a good nights rest.
Skittlebub - yay on your apt sweet, that is wonderful that DD has put on so much!
Missy - Good luck with your apt today sweet and have fun out today with your friend.
Well I guess I better go and do something while Isabel is sleeping. I will BBL
-
Mel i also will say dont lift anything more than bubs!!!!!
Missy Jacob also spews after most feeds (he only on boob) often all over my boob!!! I just make sure after a feed i keep him upright for a while he is not the best burper. Hope appt goes well, i have a booby sling (like on new inventors) but a friend made it for me and it lifst boob so that nipple is higher without holding it up. (pm me if you are intersted I am sure she could make u one also)
kristy J glad you are getting some sleep with 3 boys!!!!
skittlebub great weight gain!!!
Ayapi dont be 2 concerned re wg gain thats ok Jacob put on 65 grams in 5 days from dc till mchn home viist, then 95 grams in another 5 days and then 205 grams in 11 days.
Hello to everyone else hope babies are letting u sleep a bit

Belle - feeding not getting any better - saw LC this morning and she said I have 9 days worth of injury stressing me out. Showed me a few techniques for when things are looking a little healthier, left me some books to read, etc. She suggested that I express for a day or two to allow my bbs to recover and feed Alyssa with a syringe or cup. Here's hoping that works well!! How are you going? Thanks for the tickling under chin suggestion, btw... I tried it and it DID make her open wider, but didn't prevent the whole head shake thing (which she seems to do every time she opens wide enough to pop a nipple in!!). And the spaghetti arms. Urgh!
So thrilled for everyone who have their bubs.
Pixie, here's the unwanted advice! Ignore all the stuff about tea, lavendar, curry, pineapple, etc. The only thing we found that worked was fresh linen! I changed the sheets on our bed, and two hours later my waters broke all over it! Murphy's Law in action again ;)
Feeling a bit stressed and sleep deprived over my poor, sore bbs... Will come back for personals later (not necessarily today). Going to try catch some sleep now while my little princess is sleeping.
waves and hugs to all
-
SW - your welcome honey. Sounds like you have similar issues to me, I have the head shaking thing too, my LC told me it was her looking for the let down and she told me to do more of bringing her head up and over the nipple have my thumb on the top of my areola and try to get her top of her mouth right next to the thumb and it works on attaching her and stopping her from the shaking the head thing. LOL yep the spaghetti arms! do you have Lanisoh too hon? that helps clear up so quick too. Hope you get some sleep sweetie, dont stress hon, everything will be ok.
Back later for more personals

Hi Belle =)
yeah - things are just a bit too sore right now to keep trying, so am happy to express for a day or so recovery. They just said to avoid bottles or anything with a teat so as not to confuse her. I'm determined to make it work because she's taken to it so well!! Once she's on, she's a star. Her attachment is perfect - just the initial latch on. And the milk has come in so perfectly.
Am having difficulties getting the areola in as she licks it until it is slimy, then it just slips out before the nipple can flick in correctly. I need to wipe it dry between attempts. Am just in too much pain at the moment to keep practicing, so maybe tomorrow or the next day. She's stirring now so will try syringe the earlier expressed milk shortly and see how she goes with that.
Am using lansinoh - has been my saviour so far =)
These sore BBs are the only thing that have me down so far - otherwise still totally elated and on cloud 9 =) Feel completely in love all the time until I think of feeding, then all of a sudden I'm shaking!! But we will succeed (one way or the other!!)
I guess absolute worst case scenario is that we just express and bottle feed, and she still gets breast milk. Would still prefer to do it straight from mummy though!!
Glad things are working better for you =) Hopefully I'll be following very shortly behind ;)
-
Sounds like a good plan you have in place SW. Fingers crossed everything heals real soon and you can feed just by the breast hon.
Things are ok here, she is feeding so regularly though the MCHN just left and she told me instead of giving her the boob to resettle I should possibly try a dummy as im feeding so frequently now 1 1/2 - 2hours im knackered. Not sure what to do.
-
Hi all,
just quickly before Isabel wakes, I finally took photos of her name on her wall and thought I'd post it for you all..
I'll BBL for personals and see how everyone is doing...

Well hello all
Awwww my little boy is a piggy. He has put on just over 450grms in 9 days. OMGOSH that is huge.
All was ok but she didnt like that fact that I had exspressed and told me to try the booby again and also get some thickening stuff to give him before feeds to stop him chucking. Well I did try him on the boob again and he did nothing but cry. He was pulling at the nipple and coming off and screaming. I think he is use to the teets on the bottles..arrrrgg... Im not going to stress out about it and ive decided im only going to express till I get his needles done. 8 weeks. The thickening powder worked. He didnt chuck up at all when I put it in him bottle. YAY. Im so happy. He is drinking 120mls and has been for about a week. HC was 36.5 so up .5cm and length same.
Belle yay on your weight gain too hun. Well done hun.
Gudism hun im sorry your back is giving you hell. I didnt know you were having trouble like that. Very sorry to hear that. Yes callum was a good boy for me too. SO im happy about that. Well done on DD doing so well last night. That is so good:clap:
Oh Kristy expressing is a pain in the butt I reacon but yes I agree its great for weight loss and I want to keep it up for the 8 weeks. Just to protect him abit with my antibods and then ill be going formular all the time. YAY the boys are going great too hun. your photo of the boys are beautiful hun.
skittlebub yay on the weight. Oh glad her eye is getting better too. sorry about the thrush hun. Hope that goes soon too.
pmccask hope you have a better night tonight. poor thing.
Ayapi I wouldnt worry about the weight gain hun. Liam didnt put much on in the first week only about 70oz so he is making up for it now...lol. Hope your not to sore but I remember walking at 2 weeks to the shops with callum and it hurt but was the same as you nice to get out. Rest up now hun!!;)
Yes feeb I find it too that when I sit Liam up for a while after feeding he is alot better. I put him over my shoulder for about 20 mins and he seems to be able to hold it down. But this thickening powder is great. Oh and thanks hun about asking if id like a sling. That would be great if your friend could.:D
Sw hope you get some sleep soon and your BBs get better.
Well better go do vegies for baked chicken...yayyyyy. YUMMMMIE..
Take care all

Ayapi awww love the photos she is so cute
-
Mez - that name sign looks fabbo!!! And the other pics are cute too :) You have a stunner there honey!!!!!
Missy - glad Callum was good for you - and OMG for the weight gain!!!!!
SW - I'm sorry you are having nip troubles!!! It can certainly put a damper on things - pain from that area of your body is not NICE!!!!!! *hugs*
Sending DH up to street to grab some Infants Friend for DD cos she seems to be very windy - pulling up her legs and screaming after her feeds.
Just had MIL here - OMG she $hits me to tears that woman. First she hassled me all through DS being a newborn so I thought with the second she would leave me the F**k alone, but NOooooooooooooooo always has to make a comment about what she did with her kids when they were babies (like, helllooo your baby is nearly 32!!! Things CHANGE) and then asked me if I had a bunny rug for DD because she would be too hot in the blanket I have her wrapped in the moment, and its big enough for three babies.. blah blah f**kin blah... GRRRRRRRRRR.... I hate HER sometimes... like WOMAN.. just keep your damn opinions to yourself cos quite frankly - you can stick them up your fat fanny for all I care..
Ok.. sorry about that vent...hmm...MIL issues I suspect..
Pam - I hope your DD gets over it quickly - at least its only supposed to last till they are 12 weeks - so there is light at the end of the tunnel.. DS suffered from colic as well, so I know what you are going through with the unconsolable screaming!!!
Belle - yay for your mum!! she sounds lovely!! my mum would do that too for us if it wasn't for her husband hating us all so very much ;)
Sal - great weight gain!! and great sleeps!! woohoo!!!!!
Well I've had my biatch (heehee) and DD is in the bassinette (not sleeping, just laying there with hiccups) and DH has gone up the street for drugs and stuff (oh and to collect DS..hehe)
So I might toddle (or waddle really) slowly down to the bedroom to start cleaning that up.. my house is a pigsty!!!!!
-
Belle - Hayden is having between 100 - 120ml. He drinks it all mostly. Sometimes after we give him his antibiotics, he doesn't drink it all, but I think it might just be the mix of the milk with the meds that is gross. I express 120ml for him now, and he gulps it up.
Kristy - Your boys look adorable!!
SW - I hope your boobies feel better after a day or twos break. Ouch. I don't think I could handle it like you are. I admire you.
Hayden just wants to be held by me alot today.
I'll bbl with more personals.
xx

Hey ladies..
Just a quick check in for me.
Went to the doctor today about my suspected infection in my uterus. Doctor said my hoohaa looked rather inflamed, lochia isnt very pleasant, took a swab and has put me on 2 forms of anti biotics. Have to go back on Sunday for the swab results but has told me im not to do much and take it easy asit can make an infection alot worse. Also if i get any sudden or bright red bleeding or pains to go straight to the hospital. Lets hope that doesnt happen.. a little worried about it all now, as ive read this sort of thing can be life threatening.
But anyways! Hoo humm. Best go get the boy's pjs ready for him to have a shower.
Will be back later for personals once the boy is in bed.
-
kellxx - sounds awful =\ Hope it's nothing serious and that the anti-biotics take care of it FAST
Tenny - no point getting overly stressed about things that I can't do anything about. Just a little stressed about the pain in my BBs!! More worried about kellxx now - perspective is a wonderful thing...
Am watching DH feeding Alyssa from a syringe. She's not keen on it, but she's getting fed! At least she won't starve, and it looks like she'll be happy to go back on the BB when the time comes =)
-
SW - you are doing so well - I'm very proud of you (like you are a member of my family of course!!! :p) You rock wayyyy more harder than I do my friend..
Kel - jesus woman.. rest up!!!!!! Take it easy!!!!! TAKE YOUR DRUGS!!!!!!!
Tenny - he just knows where the smooth mother lovin comes from ;)
-
Kel - that's a worry, make sure you take it very very easy OK?
SW - miss know-nothing no-baby here says have you tried nipple shields? I've read they work for some people
:hello: Mel, ayapi, Belle, Missy and everyone.....
-
Thanks ladies. Will see what happens come Sunday but she said if it comes back positive, the anti biotics shes given me are pretty strong ones and should stop it going any further. Still very scarey though.
Belle.. thats great Tara is starting to attach! Well done hun.
Tenny.. thats great Hayden is sleeping well at night. Helps doesnt it! Ive written out my birth story on my computer.. did it before it all became a bit vague as ill put it in Keira's scrapbook.. just gotta get around to uploading it on here. Hayden is so cute. Oh i love his thick black hair!
Mel.. lol re the bath. I dont know what Jesse would do if we put Keira in his bath. Probably get a little scared i think lol. We're just been bathing her every second night in a baby bath when hes asleep as she cries most of the time. Hope you took some photos! How was your bonding day? Oh great to hear shes starting to get her butt into gear with those night sleeps! Oh hun our MIL's need to go on holidays together!!!! I hate it when people try to tell you what to do hey! Especially when youve already done it before!
Sal.. glad to hear Maddison's eyes are clearing.
sw.. hope your bbs heal soon hun.. i know its not fun hey, you poor thing.
Keira does the head shaking thing too for her dummy! Jesse use to do it also on the boob and with the dummy. Crazy kids!
Pixie.. hope you go into labour tonight! What a great date it would be 08/08/08!!
Missy.. yep, Jesse was always a HUGE puker. I use to have to cover the side of the lounge with towels when i burped him. He just outgrew it when he started sitting up. Its a very common thing. Keira is also a puker... Most of hers comes out her nose though! lol poor chicken. Oh hun yeh dont stress over it. Id just give it a go every now and then and who knows, he may just decide its time to latch again.
DH told me hes getting up for the night feeds tonight so i can rest. Hes so sweet.. gotta love him.
