*lol* Sacha, you read my mind! I just made an order with them last nite and was impressed by the pricing! I already have some of the Baby Kaboosh stuff so knew that it was good stuff! :)
Hope everyone is well...seems all mummies are extra busy at this time of the year!

Well I spent about 70 on both kids. naughty naughty I know. I loved the monkey pj's got Charlee a couple of different sorts and Jack a pair as well.
-
OMG all can you believe that on Tuesday my boy is going to be 6 months old. eekkkkk. I want him to stay a little baby forever, stop growing up little man. We entered into a new era today. We moved the cot out of Charlees room and into Jacks. They both look so little in there beds. I'm starting to get upset with how quickly they are growing up. Before DH and I will know it, they will both be off to school. Makes me really want to have another soon, but no chance of that happening. I guess they will all grow up sooner or later.
-
*hugs* Mel...I'm starting to get a bit of anxiety cos Alessia is getting too long for the cradle and the pram basinette attachment. I don't want her to grow up so quickly either!!! :(
Are you planning on any more kiddies in the future?
-
Hey... Just popping in... FREAK OUT! I go back to work on jan 7th & I'm nervous!!!!
Although it's only 4 hours from 8pm til midnight so we dont have to put kids in Childcare! But waaaaah, I cant believe how fast time is going!!!
We are off to Zoo today, with a group of friends...
Zyon's already had a haircut we clippered his hair (he loved it vibrating on his noggin!) so he's got a skin head ATM!!! LOL He's every so gorgeous!
He woke every 3 hours every night since 4mth injections (18th Dec he had these) OMg I was going batty! but every time his nappy was soaked & him too, so the last few nights I've put him in the baby behhing bamboo nappies & he has slept from 8:30 & still asleep... YAY!!!!!!!
I do wanna keep up in here just been so hectic!
-
Mel, I know what you mean - Autumn is only five days behind Jack and I can't believe I've nearly got a 6 monther! Right at this minute she is sitting up at her piano all by herself with a pillow behind just in case and she is so proud of herself banging away on the keys, legs kicking frantically, panting like a puppy. lol Won't be long til she's in the shopping trolley seat instead of the baby cradle one :(
Tracey, Autumn had problems with a runny bum for three weeks after her 4m injections and I still think it was the rotavirus vaccine. I'm seriously thinking of not getting her the next dose at the six month ones. lol at Zyon's skin head. The
Balinese have a kind of numbering system for their children don't they? I remember nearly everyone we met telling us their name was Wayan or Made - is that because they don't want to say their real names?
-
lol For some reason I just got the mental picture of when Autumn is being held by someone else and is due for a feed and when I walk over to take her, her eyes go all big and her legs kick and she makes this excited 'uh uh uh' as she stares directly at my chest - lol it's all about the boobs. :cryinglaugh:
-
I remember that to. First born is called one name, second another set name. But they all had eastern names as well. I remember being ****ed one night in Bali and talking to a group of locals about it at a vodka ice bar. Very interesting, well what I can remember of it anyhow lol ;)
Sacha, Jack still isn't sitting up on his own yet. I know Charlee at this age was, but Jack has a much bigger upper body than her, so maybe he is still a little top heavy and can't balance properely. It's probably his big head lol. It's like my Doc said his boof head is inherited from his father, was rather funny when she wrote down in his baby record large cranium genetic (so nurses didn't think anything was wrong with him), and my DH looked at her and she said 'well it's your boof head that he inhereted not mine' lol was very funny, she is a lovely doc. Then when we left she said see you later boof head
Anyway must be off, BBL.
-
Oh yey Ihear you Sacha, Jack does the same, DH calls him Booby Boy !!! It's a nice feeling though, when they get all excited to see you hey? Even if it is just for our BB's.

Morning everyone!!
Mel - my gosh 6 months already!! Dont they grow soooooooooooo quickly!! I love Avaleigh being a little baby, but I also love her growing up because we are both learning something new. I just go with the flow and am not upset that she is growing up so quickly, but I guess every mum is different. But if she was going to be my only baby then I wouldnt want her to grow up quickly. But we are planning to start TTC for #2 when Avaleigh is 15 months old - I cant wait!! It'll probably happen after a friends wedding (they are having it in the cook islands and I want to have ****tails so will start after that!) and my friend is planning to TTC for #1 after her wedding so I told her that we could be pregnant together - how cool would that be!!
Tracey - aww at going back to work!! But atleast it is at night time so you still get to spend time with your babies. I hope it works out how you want it to!
Sacha - Avaleigh does that too at feeding time! Its soooo cute and I just cant get my boobs out quick enough for her. The other day a friend was holding her while I was doing something and my friend was wearing only a bikini top and she tried going for her boobs lol so I knew she was hungry.
I've changed Avaleigh's routine now and I quite like it! She wakes up at 7am for her first feed, next feed is 11am followed by half a banana. Next feed is about 2pm which is just breastmilk. Next feed is at 5pm which is solids. Then I bath her about 7.30pm and feed a little after 8pm and in bed and asleep by 8.30pm and sleeps til 7am the next day!! I love it! Gives me more time to wind down before going to bed. She is going much longer between feeds now and is even having a bit of a sleep inbetween feeds.
Does anyone here make their own baby food?? I am planning to start but not too sure where to start. My mum said to just boil up and puree vegies and meat so I guess I will start trying! I've kept all the baby food jars so I can put it in there and freeze it. I think we need a bigger freezer tho cause its going to be stocked up with baby food and breast milk soon!!
We are nearly all organised for our ****tail party. Jason has made a bar and its looking pretty good! We are going to get the alcohol and the rest of the food today, pick up some table and chairs and a fridge and probably set it all up. Would be good to have it all set up today so its not a made rush on Monday.
Well better go!!
-
V- you cant freeze glass jars/bottles- they cant expand and thus explode in the freezer! Just thought I would save you the trouble of clearing out the freezer looking for glass shatters!! Maybe you should invest in some 'take and toss' containers, as you can freeze, and defrost and eat from the one container?? Hehehe I brought all my containers and cups and stuff the other night in anticipation for the big 6month anniversary!!! I said to aaron, 6 months is going to be a big time for her- starting solids, swimming lessons and more injections!!!
Well its hot here agan today, so we have blown up Kaetlyns baby pool and am about to fill it, well put some water in it anyway, so that it is not cold water when we put her in it.
Does anyone else have a walker for their bub? Kaetlyn does, and she just loves it, she now knows how to manouver it around the house and follow us. Last night, aaron was on the lounge, i was in the kitchen and my brother was in the dining room, she was popping around to all three of us and seeing what was going on!!
I have just finished re-arranging kaetlyns room for clothes. Argh what a job, I had to fit them all in somehow! I hate that job, cause now when we go to get an outfit it wont be where it was before. Its going to drive Aaron crazy!!
-
Just popping in quickly in between packing - having a rest and an icy pole because it is super hot here today. T is being a grumpy bum too - i think he thinks its my fault its hot!
V - i brought a great book yesterday called Anabel Karmels Baby and Toddler meal planner. Its really good with recipes for heaps of different foods to make yourself. It even gives you times that you should boil/steam different foods for and then has a chart of foods you can give over 4 weeks so bubs is trying a variety of things.
We are starting Tom on solids today because he has been waking in the night for a feed again. He got a high chair for christmas - one of those ones that you strap onto a normal chair which is good. I am quite nervous about this new venture into food - i just got the hang of the milk thing!
Sacha - we are thinking about starting swimming lessons for T when he is 6months. He loves his bath and cries when you take him out even if the water is cold. I am not sure how he will go in the colorine (sp?) - at xmas one of the kids splashed him in the face when i was dipping his feet in the spa and he came up in a bit of rash. See how we go - gives me a chance to buy new bathers too!
Ok - going to look at this Bump Baby and beyond site! Bye xx
-
lol at Jack's boofhead Mel. Just more room for a genius brain. It is a very nice feeling when they get excited to see you and when their eyes follow you around when someone else has them. And when you go in to get them out of bed and get greeted with a big smile and kicking legs...aaawwww...
V - I have only ever given Autie homemade stuff and have found it really easy. She's not having meat yet so I just microwave vegies until they're soft and then mash them up - I don't bother pureeing but I make sure there are no big lumps, sometimes I use the stick blender. What I don't give her, I freeze in an ice cube tray put inside a zip lock bag, then store the cubes in small zip locks with whatever it is written on the outside - takes up less room. When I'm going somewhere I just put a couple of cubes in a small container. Sometimes I mix up the veg or fruit together or with a bit of rice cereal or mashed avocado. Autie is not too keen on sweet things like fruit, and didn't really like zucchini the one time I tried her but I keep giving her things mixed together until she accepts them. It's so easy - you don't need to add any seasonings or anything else. It's actually a lot of fun for me to decide what I'll try next! lol It's good to hear your new routine is working well for both of you.
Sara - that's cute that Kaetlyn follows you around. We don't have a walker, but I'm sure Autie would love it - she is getting a safety entertainer first so I can shower etc, so a walker will have to wait. It's exciting thinking about introducing solids isn't it?
Em - we bought one of the strap on chairs too. So far I haven't missed having a proper one - plus it folds up to take to other people's places - so handy - and so much cheaper!
Autumn's new trick is to wait until I put her to bed to poo her pants so I have to get her out again for a change - what a monkey! Speaking of which, I realised she thinks her name is monkey as she turns her head to that, but not her name....oops...
-
Hi all,
Its so hot here today, I can't stand it and 41 on NYE blah!!!!
I know what you all mean by growing up so fast! Olivia has done so many things today that has made me think that way. I bought a high chair and she was sitting up in that chewing on her rusk and she is laughing and smiling more and more at everything me and Jev do I love it but also don't want it to go too fast....but I also look forward to her being a 'little' girl and seeing what she is like IYKWIM??
Solids is SO confusing. V - how does Avaleigh go on the banana? Do you mash it all up? I might try Liv on some. I have been giving Liv solids for weeks now...we did a few days each on Sweet Potato, Zuchini, Potato and she screwed her face up and disinterested in each. So today I gave her some pumpkin from the Heinz organic and that seemed to go a bit better...its frustrating but I know she is still only little so will take it as it comes. But I have heaps in the freezer, made a big batch of lots of things....but trying her on the vegies first.
We bought a stroller today! We got the Valco stroller which seems pretty good and Liv seemed to enjoy being in there. We are going to NZ in 3 weeks and I didn't want to take the big pram, plus as she gets older she will probably like it better in a stroller. It may have been a bit more than usually strollers thought at $160. Does anyone else have a stroller or will you just use the pram?
Mel - how is your study going? I would love to do something, I don't know what I will do. I don't think I have the patience to be a doula though but think its a wonderful thing.
Hi to everyone, I know I keep saying I will get on here and talk more, sorry that I don't, I really enjoy it though and will try and get back on as much as poss.
xxxxxx

Quick Q - Jev may take Olivia in the pool tomorrow as we are going out - does Olivia have to have those swimmer nappy or can she just have the usual ones on?
-
Flossie- If it's a public pool of any kind, I think I would check with them. Normal nappies get huge and can fall apart in the water. Swimmer nappies are expensive though. Sorry can't be more help than that.
-
Thanks Sacha. They are the huggies brand ones right? I think I saw them - about $13 or something like that?
-
They're the ones. Have a fun swim! Reminds me I'll have to start thinking about swimming lessons...
