Hi all
Great idea about the weird things my baby does topic Sacha. I have an angry raspberry blower as well LOL!!! She sure lets me know it when she is not happy about something and she also makes the LOUDEST growling noise just like a lion roaring - I kid you not! She does this all the time - even if we are at ths shops which always brings a smile to the faces of the other shoppers. She is the loudest of all three children at the same age! I guess she has to be loud even at this age to be heard above Oliver and Jesse!!
Tracey - sorry to hear that work sucks. Great that you are enjoying the people interaction. Hopefully befor elong you will be in the swing of the 8 - 12 shift and it wont be as tiring for you.
Sara - yay for the mothers group finally starting!!
Happy 6 months Oliver!! Raels I love your nick name for Oliver - Olimoo! Might have to use that for my Oliver sometimes!!
Charlotte had her 6 month immunisations this morning! Hopefully she wont be too bothered by them. She hasnt been with the 2 and 4 month ones so hopefully this continues.
Hello to everyone else.
Will BBL when I have more time
Jem
-
Hi to everyone, too much to do at the moment but will hopefully be back later to do personals.
LOL at Autie & Charlotte and their raspberry blowing. Liam loves blowing raspberries too, it's very cute, one of our favourite noises, alongside the gargle noise that he does too. But the weird thing he does is that he whacks himself really hard when he's feeding, it's very funny, but hurts my bbs if they get targetted, so heaven only knows what he's doing to himself. Crazy kid.
Anyway, time to get dinner started. Last night we had beans on toast, so I feel obliged to make a slightly bigger effort tonight. Maybe spaghetti on toast...
-
Wow!!! So quiet in here the past couple of days. I should be packing/cleaning but I needed a break.
Oliver is asleep - thank god! Yesterday he slept for a whole ten minutes ALL day!!!! I was freaking out by the time DF got home, not to mention having a very sore back from carrying him around. He would not settle at all and everytime I put him down, he would scream. He has never been like that before so I didn't know what was going on. He went to bed early last night though and slept for ten hours so all good.
Jemima - cute nickname hey! I love it. Have you noticed there are so many Oliver's lately? They seem to be popping up everywhere! Hope Charlotte is doing ok after her needles? Did they give the rotavirus one this time?
Sacha - great idea!!! Well, my little man has fallen in love with his big toe, but only the one on his left foot and only when I am giving him his solids. He has a spoonfull of whatever then brings his feet up and in goes the toe! I think he gets more food on his feet than in his mouth sometimes. Oh and he does something similar to Autumn but with his feet. He rotates them both and stares at them for ages. I don't want all this cute stuff to end!!!
Jan - I cooked dinner last night for the first time in about 3 months!! DF had actually banned me from the kitchen. Can't say I mind too much, I love cooking but he is way better at it then me!
Finally picked up the keys today for the new house so should be all moved in by Monday. I really wanted to go and have a swim in the pool but of course it's raining!
Oh well, back to it, otherwise I'll never get it all done in time.
Raels. xo
-
Jem, Autie had her shots today too! :( She had problems with the rotavirus last time so I'm hoping it doesn't happen again this time. At least no more for another six months now - yey! LOL at your little lion - I expect she must be clever to work out the best way for attention with two boys to contend with.
Jan that's so funny, Autumn does the hitting thing too! Beans on toast is about all I manage for myself when DH is away. I'm too spoilt with him doing all the cooking - like Raels, I let him do it because he's so much better at it.
Raels - hope your move goes well - so exciting tohave a new house but the packing really sucks huh? I can't believe you only got 10mins out of Oliver you poor thing. Wonder what was bothering him? Maybe he was having big toe cravings LOL Do you have a sling or something for helping to take the load off yourself?
-
Hi everyone
Happy 6 months to all bubs! Hope you're all doing well.
-
Hi all,
Happy 6 months oliver !!
V i can't blieve how advanced avaleigh is, do you guys do anything special or is she just a bit of a go getter?
Tracey lol, you just have to get into a routine and everything will all be worth it in the end.
Ok Ok Sacha, Xavier blows raspberry's after he has poo'd and he is constantly crossing his ankles
jan, I say at least he's hitting himself. Xavier will not feed unless I let him do what he wants which is grab big handfulls of boob or arm fat and squeeze, and my does that boy have a good grip. it's even worse when the claws are long. I get bruises and scratches on my boobs from him, but if I hold his hand he cracks it and wont feed.
one more day of work for the week, and i bet the weekend will go way too fast. I have a felling though that this year is going to fly!! We are now hoping to build our house at the start of next year. I want to be in before 2nd birthday so we are settled and can ttc #2. Unlike Tracey I'm back doing the same job, kinda but it's so different. I would love it back the way it used to be.
Well gotta sleep pir house is like 35 degrees still xaviers has a nappy and nothing else pore bubba and he still has a stuffy nose.
-
Hey All!!
Tooo tired to write a post. I went to the gym today, second day back after 4 weeks and I am SO sore. Could hardly walk around the shopping centre!!
I went in to get my scuba diving medical today and the doctor failed me!! AHHH!! How crap hey. He says that my blood pressure is too high and I have protien in my urine. SO I went to my normal doctor and he said thats a load of bullcrap. He checked my blood pressure again and it was normal and I am having my urine tested by specialists, not some nurse at the clinic. So I am going back tomorrow to fight my case. I AM GOING TO GO SCUBA DIVING!!
anyway, I'm tired and have to finish reading my book just incase I am doing the course..
-
Hi all,
How are you all, good and cooler then us in Vic I hope!!
Just a quick one, I will be back later to read and post more as I have to clean the house for Jev's relos from America coming for a BBQ tonight.
I went to the health nurse yesterday with Livvie and she is 8.7kg and 67.5cm tall! So happy with that. She said a few things that I didn't agree with for a 6 month old and wanted to get your thoughts:
1. She said I could give her mince and cheese to get her used to lumps - but I thought that was after 7 months???
2. She told me to have her on her tummy for most of her awake time and not having her sitting. But when she is on her tummy a lot she gets tired quickly like today she usually goes back to bed at 9 but she was rubbing her eyes at 8:30!!!
3. She said I could put her onto 3 feeds - is anyone else only doing 3 feeds both bottle and solids or do you think its too soon??
BBL though girls.
Lis xxx
-
Hi Flossie,
1. No I would not give cheese or mince! Six months is way too early for that. Babies at this age don't like lumps! I personally will be waiting to introduce lumps until around 8 months. You could give mince but pureed.
2. Tummy time - I would just go with what your bub likes. Tummy time is important of course but I don't feel that it has to be all day. I try not to put Oliver on his tummy too soon after a feed because it just comes straight back up again.
3. I think breakfast and dinner - no lunch - is fine, but your bub may need more. Oliver is demand breastfed so I'm not really sure how the whole bottle thing works.
Sorry if I haven't answered your questions very well but that is just what I would do. Follow your little girls cues and go with what you feel is best.
Raels.

Hi everyone
V - I hope you pass your scuba diving test this time. Fingers crossed for you.
Rebecca and Tracey - hope you're settling back into work okay. I have a job interview next week, so may be joining the ranks of the working mums soon too (fingers crossed). I don't really want to go back to work (although the money would be nice, obviously), but this particular job sounds really interesting. So hoping that I get it.
Diana blows raspberries too. It's so cute. She doesn't really do anything that I'd class as "weird", although she does like to squirm around in my arms until she is on her back and puts her head down below her body to look at everything upside down.
She was weighed and measured this week. At 6 1/2 months she is 7kg and 69cm long. The dr said she's doing well. She is almost commando crawling, and the other day she sat up all by herself! I'm going to have to babyproof the house soon...
Hi to everyone else.
-
AHHHHHHHHH! *pulls hair out* Avaleigh's sleeping has gone out the friggin window! She has been in bed now for 1 hour and is still not asleep. She normally goes to sleep within an hour after her first feed but NOPE not this week! I really think she is teething cause she is not sleeping much and biting everything and been rubbing ears heaps. I felt her gums the other day and they were hard.
AHH!! Better go rock her to sleep so I can do some stuff.
-
Lis - I recently read something interesting about 'baby led weaning' which talks about allowing lumpy food etc quite early. I can't remember where it was but if you google that phrase you should come up with something. Autumn has things that aren't quite pureed eg. just mashed avocado or pumpkin but they are soft lumps and she has no trouble with them. I will be holding off on meat and dairy for a while because I just personally think she needs time to develop digestion properly before trying those (plus they'll make really smelly poo LOL) I think it's really up to you and what you think your own child is capable of. As far as amounts go, Autumn still has at least 4 BF a day plus 1 or 2 at night and is having solids always at dinner time and some days at around 11ish too. Tummy time/sitting time - do what she's happy with!
-
Is there anyonw here that hasn't begun Solids yet???
I feel like a nuffy, cos from the sounds of things, everyone else seems to have started already. Lach is very happy and content with being exclusively BF, and after all the trouble we had midway through tha last 6 months, I won't be screwing with it for a little bit.
Hope you are all well... feel like a bit of an outsider and stranger here now....
It's gross and hot here.. 43 degrees again today.
ANyway, off to have another quick shower
hugs
nicky
-
Nicky, I only give Zy farex, not every day either, but I never did before 6mths with the girls they didnt seem to need/want it... Zy is guts & is close to 9kgs nowHe was having 10breastfeeds a day... I was exhausted & so I tried it a couple wks ahgo & he enjoyed it...
But if Lach doesnt want it, he certainly doesnt need it... It's best to wait...
-
Nicky- Kaetlyn is still not on solids. CHN said not to, as she is fine at the moment, will start after she turns 6 months though. Have got everything ready- have pureed pumpkin, sweet potato and have carrots and zuchini to do today. To be honest I am not sure how she will go. She watches us eat, but that is as far as she wants it. Also she still has her extrusion reflex- where her tounge pushes everything out, and is seems like it will be there for a while yet.
Well am off to finish odd jobs- have been lazy since chrissy, and got up this morning, and decided that the car needed detail cleaning, so have done that, has just finsihed polishing it, now about to hang out the washing and wash that last couple of days nappies. Joy!!! (It hadnt been vaccummed since about 8weeks pg)!!!
And silly me decided to do this in the stupid heat!!!
-
HI EVERYONE! I am back from a very busy trip to Tassie! We arrived in on the Spirit of Tasmania this morning so i have heaps to do but just wanted to pop in and say hi! Will be back later to have a read!
By the way Happy 6 months to my little boy today!! Can't believe it.....
-
 YAY... Work offered me a new role!!!!
My old job (kooshy) but whatever hours I want to do... I am thinking 3-8 or maybe 9!??? Will discuss with Dh over the weekend & then i have to let them know & in 1 wks time I will be starting that, so 1 more week of nights & then doing my old job in the hours that suit me/us!!!!
YAY!!! I am so happy, thrilled, excited, ecstatic & relieved!!!!!!! :confetti: :happyforyou:
-
Yay, Tracey - that's fantastic! Sounds like they really value you at your work (and so they should!!)
Hi everyone, has been way too long since I've been in here- have been MIA for no particular reason, just busy with bubs and Christmas, etc.
Well, exciting news - Amelie got her first tooth yesterday!
Nicky- don't feel left out about the solids - wait until you and Lach are ready. I still haven't given anything solid to Amelie, as I was waiting for her feeding patterns to change, which they hadn't. So, she will be 6 months old on Sunday and I'm thinking I will start then, as she has been waking one extra time a night a bit recently, plus she keeps diving at food on our plates (and other people's- which is quite funny when you're at BBQ's!), so it's onto farex for us soon.
DH is back at work after the Christmas break this week and I am really missing him!! I think he's missing Amelie too and is talking about having less time at work soon. He has also decided to give up cricket (hallelujah) and go to the gym instead. This is great, as cricket involves 2 nights training a week, plus all day playing on Saturdays. To be fair he wasn't training both nights and wasn't playing every week, but it's still a big commitment. I am thinking about going back to the gym too, now that I would feel more comfortable with putting Amelie into creche. Might look into it....
Am also going to look into baby swimming lessons...
-
hey everyone.
I've just come back from a meeting with my boss. It went OK. I told him what I want (working from home 70% of the time) and he said that he will have a talk to a few people and see what can be done. he would rather me back in the officefull time but i told him that whatever I make will go on daycare so there is no point. He does iunderstand that Avaleigh is number 1 for me. I should here back from him next week, so fingers crossed he goes for it or I will be resigning.
BBL for personals. (I hope!)
-
HI everyone,
Have had a quick read but will read again when Livvie goes down. Trying to clean and play with her its hard!
But just got a quick questions. This morning when I got Livvie up she had done a poo, then after her 11am feed and solids she did another one, then I just changed her again!! They aren't runny, a little dark mustard colour. Could this be because I have put her on the 6months Karicare Gold? She is happy and had all her bottle and food all day. She is also pulling at her ear (is that a sign of teething?) and earlier she was a bit grizzly when nothing was in her mouth for her to chew.
Sorry to hound everyone with questions but this must be the stage of their lives that things are going to be more new and confusing to us all!!
Lis and Liv xxx
-
I wouldn't worry too much Lis. Could just be the change of formula that she's getting used to. If she's happy and not showing signs of pain, it should be ok. Autie pulls at her ear when she's tired but it could be teeth I guess - I think we'll all be complaining of teething problems soon!
-
Flossie - yesterday Lucas pooed SEVEN times! The past few days they have been awful! Not sure what's going on, but i changed to the 6 month formula too.....people have told me that some babies poo changes when they're teething too. Dont know about you but it i want the old poo back!!!!!
-
Olivers poos have changed too! It's the teething girls. He usually does one every second day but this past week he has been doing at least four a day. I hope he cuts a tooth soon!!!
-
Bring on the teeth so i can stop gagging at the poo!!
Well i just did a marathon read so i am up to date but there is no way i can remember enough to say anything now! Will be able to keep up from now on, just had to read up to make sure i didn't miss anything huge!!!!
-
Flossie,
Dont worry about changes in bubs poo etc, it could be teething, could be a more mature gut, could be change in formula, could be anything!!!
You wont know anything really til 'hindsight' like she'll be grizzly for a few days & you'll wonder whtas going on & then notice a tooth or something liem that... It's not til after the culprit pops through that you realise what was going on...
V, Hope works can sort something out for you...
I am so happy mine have!
-
Hey everyone!
Sorry I have been MIA... I have been around and reading but not posting!! It's always sooo busy in here ;) I'll attempt personals so sorry to anyone I miss...
V- I know what you mean re- sleeping and not going to sleep straight away! Oscar has been doing it for the past month and it is driving me insane! He just grizzles and grizzles... I *think* it may be his teeth that are annoying him but then again I could be wrong!
Nicky- We haven't started solids here yet either! We are off to Ikea on Monday to buy a highchair for Oscar and then sometime next week we might start on some farex ;)
Megan- Yay on the trip to Tassie... nice to have you back though!
Tracey- I saw your post about your job and being offered your old role! That is fantastic that you can work what hours you want and you don't really miss out on any time with your gorgeous kiddies!
That's as far back as I can go but :hello:to all you gorgeous Mummies and bubs I missed!!
Well with us... we have been going ok. Oscar and I are off to the RCH on Monday for his appt about his "head"!! It seems a lot better but I still want to see what they have to say. I'd much rather him have a helmet for a couple of months rather than have a misshapen head for the rest of his life! I think we are going to get im a haircut too as he has a bit of a "comb-over" !! I think Oscar has teeth starting to come up.. I can see that some places on his gums that they are pushing out at the front so I don't think they will be too far away.
Well I best leave it here and I'll be back later! Have a great day ;)
-
Hi everyone,
Been MIA, down in Sydney and using dial up so everything to taking for frigggiiinnn eeeeeeevvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrr. Can't talk long, just wanted to wish all the bubbas a happy 6 month birthday.
Will read back when I get home.
Take care all.
-
Hi all,
V, you fight them, I'm sure you will get to go scuba diving. I hope you get the work you want.
Floss, I agree with raels, you need to do what you think is best for your bub. Remember you can always go to another nurse even if just once for a second opinion. Different nurses have different interpretations of the guidelines. I would have also thought that if you were introducing lumps you would puree less so vegies would be more lumpy to start with. RE poo, xavier when it's hot wil poo a max of twice a day in the coolest part of the day. If it's cool he pretty much poos once for every feed. but we get anywhere from 2-6 poos per day.
Nicki, Xavier does get baby rice but that's it until 6 months ish. If lach is happy then let him be, he will let you know if he wants more, i'm sure. xavier was starting to show some signs of needing more, and now that he has started he is eyeing off our food in a whole new way. Has his eyes on my vegiemite toast!!
I hear you on the heat we have no aircon so I think our house ends up 2-3 degrees above the outside temp.
Happy 6 months lucas
Tracey, that's fantastic!! They must really want you in that job. Do you still have to work with that women though??
teeth, I don't know how you guys manage to check out inside your bubs mouth, if I try to look or feel I'm not allowed, he turns his head and nything that goes in his mouth gets power sucked on!! But I think we will be waiting a while for those here, thankfully!!
Argh Xavier and I still both have snotty noses, this is really frustrating and I just wish they would go away!! It's so frustrating not being able to take anything. Mines not bad but I do have asthma playing up because of it, but my poor little man is having difficulty breathing. He has even started breathing through his mouth already, and to top it all off it's stinking hot and some nights he doesn't even have a singlet on that I can put a little vicks on. We have his bed tilted. The other night our house didn't drop below 35 degrees all night. I have cold packs in the fridge that I cool down his matress with before he goes to bed it's so hot.
That's my rant. Thanks for listening.
Well I got through my first week of work and a whole week of expressing. The aircon at work didn't work on thurs - Fri so aas you can imagine it got quite warm which made expressing difficult. Trying to remember to drink as much water as possible but it's so hard to remember. I'm also getting very hungry so I had to buy some snacks for work. lol my office is full of food.
I am expressing 3 times per day while I'm at work. Now I know that at some stage he will reduce the amount of feeds per day and possibly increase the amount he has too. given that he is getting ebm 5 times a week and only me on the weekends i'm thinking it's going to be harder for my body to adjust to new feeding patterns. Has anyone got any ideas about this.
Thanks
-
Rebecca, thats EXACTLY what I did with Indah... She had EBM every day of the week whilst I was at work, I fed her in the morning before work from boob, then as soon as I walked in the door, I sat down with her & offered her booby she ALWAYS sucked for a little while, I then let her comfort suck all weekend if she wanted too & at night after work... I made that my spare time thingy, sit down & offer boob whilst watching TV after dinner etc.... I fed her til 14+mths with no problems! So as long as you keep expressing '& offering booby whenever you can, you should be fine!
As for my work..... my old boss has been sent to another site! yay, so it's even better!!!!
We will have more $$$$'s too as there's no childcare fee's! So I can do 5-6hrs, not sure just yet, but it can also be flexible... I am so glad I asked for what I wanted!
Oshani, Zy had a combover/Ray Martin look, so we clippered his hair! It's starting to hang over his ears again, so he'll get another cut soon...
Floss, I forgot to say I wouldnt be offering mince & cheese etc yet, Indah hated mushed food & pretty much went straight on to finger foods at 7mths, I think I'd not to the MCHN but continue with what you are doing! afteall your her Mum & she's doing so well...
Hi Mel!!!
-
hey everyone!!
I managaed to get in to my scuba diving course and I am absolutely buggered.. today's training was from 9 - 4 and my boobs were killing me afterwards!! I did pump some during lunch time but we only had lunch for 30 mins so instead of giving Avaleigh solids for dinner, I gave her my boob instead. She was happy to take even tho she had 240mls of milk 2 hours beforehand. Their not too sore now but I got a real sore spot that I hope she can work out later. LOL Well enough about my boobs!!
Bec - you asked a fews days ago if we do something special for Avaleigh to be sitting/standing.. well no, I dont think we do!! We just encourage her and if she is sitting and we lift her arms up slightly, she will want to stand!! I guess she is jsut a quick learner like her Daddy :)
Anyway, I better go. Avaleigh is squealing in her bedroom (must have lost her dummy), Jason will be home with dinner soon and the house is a mess!! Gosh, I leave the man alone for a day and he manages to mess everything up. LOL MEN huh!
-
Hey All
My news is that I went out to lunch with the girls today and left DH to take care of getting Autie down for her lunchtime nap - first time ever - she usually needs to feed off me for a while to settle and when she does go down awake, it's always me that gets her to sleep. I gave him a million instructions (pat like this, stroke here, say this, try the swing if all else fails) and a pile of stuff if desperate (fruit gel, rusk, mesh food bag, rice cereal LOL Anyway, I got a message 20mins later that she was asleep and all was well  turns out he sang her Waltzing Matilda while rubbing her bum (he's very patriotic lol) Such a good feeling to know I can leave her and they'll both be ok. He did tell me when I got home that he'd been a bit nervous but hid it from me in case I didn't go out. Awwwww....
Tracey, good news on the work front - glad it's all working out for you.
Mel, does dial-up really still exist?!? LOL I remember the frustration! See you when you get back.
Welcome back Megan
Happy 6 months to everyone! Sorry I didn't get a personal in for all - my memory sucks.
-
Hi everyone,
hope you're all doing well! Haven't been on for a while now (over a month)with xmas and everything and just got back from being in NZ for a few weeks well I will be back on soon to catch up a bit better!
-
HI Jas nice to see you! Hope to see you around more....
Lach has been doing the standing thing for a few weeks now;)
He's been going fab as always..... has been showing signs of wanting food... Like, trying to grab it out of my hands and mouth lol... but I am worried about the possibility of allergies etc, so Decided to wait the 6 months;) I didn't want to risk it.
Lach is making so many different noises now, he's like a little person. He is nt far from saying his first words I think, and then it's all down hill from there.
He has nearly cut 2 teeth... they are poking out the top of his gums, but haven't quite cut the gums yet... can't be too far.
He is barely crying anymore aswell.... well, at least nothing like he used to. He wakes up happy, he goes to sleep happy, and he is constantly smiling.
He is the best thing to ever happen to me. I still can't beleive how fabulous and lucky I am to be his mum!!!
Well, off to finish my mums birthday present.
Night
xxoo
-
Morning all!
Was just wondering if anyone elses bubs is having separation anxiety? Since we got back from Tassie if we even walk out of the room Lucas screams, and if we are around he will not let anyone else hold him....i am pulling my hair out!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Hi all,
Will try try try and do personals....ready...here goes:
Megan - Olivia does get seperation issues at times, but if we walk out of the room she isn't too bad, but if she goes to someone she doesn't see that often she screams. I don't like it either as I won't her to go to everyone, but secertly sometimes I like it as I know she loves and wants her Mummy and Daddy :)
Sacha - That is great DH got Autie of to sleep! Its such a great feeling for the Daddy's to know that their little ones will settle for them as well, not just Mum. The only time Olivia won't settle with DH is when she is out of control screaming, but that is not very often and only if teeth hurt or over tired.
Welcome back Jas!
Bec - I didn't think of Olivia doing lots of poos cause of the heat, but that would make perfect sense! She has only done 1 a day since that day of 3 horrors!!!
Mel - Hope you are enjoying Sydney!!
Oshani - hope everything goes well tomorrow!
V - I hope your boss gives you what you want! I am thinking about talking to mine and seeing if they can have me for 1 day maybe starting Feb. Olivia will go to Mum's for that day - it will just be handy having the extra $$
Thanks to everyone for your opinions on the food. I was really annoyed at the health nurse for saying I should be doing this and that with her. I didn't like her, have only seen her once as my normal one was busy.
Me - I have just pureed SO much baby food for Livvie today, was great DH was home so I got stuck into it while he played and feed Livvie. She is enjoying her food a lot more now. Was funny, she had 3 nights of screaming after her last bottle and it took us ages to get her to sleep. I think was definately the teeth as I think I can see the start of a toothy peg but last night after her bottle she screamed like she wanted more (this is a bossy scream) so all I had was some organic jar stuff so she had over half of that and went to bed happy and straight to sleep!!!!
I am still thinking of putting her on 3 feeds but uping her bottles to 250ml. But I am confused with what to give her for breakfast lunch and tea. Like do I give her fruit and vege with lunch bottle, or milk vege and custart for dinner??? IYKWIM?? I don't want to over feed her!! LOL
Any suggestions?
Lis xx
 I did personals!!!
Hi to everyone else!!!!
-
Evening everyone ;)
Hope you all had a great weekend!! We had a nice relaxing weekend which was fantastic.. we didn't go anywhere which is just the way I like it! I have been feeling very rundown though which sucks.... I am always tired no matter what time I go to bed. I am going to have BTs tomorrow to see if they can find anything... I lost quite a bit of blood when I had Oscar so the Dr is thinking maybe my iron levels are still down. Anyway... we'll just have to wait and see. Also tomorrow we are off to Ikea to buy a high chair so we can start Oscar on solids soon (well farex) and then off to the RCH about Oscar's head... I'm feeling ok about it at the moment. I'll update you when we get home tomorrow night! I am not sure if I did the right thing or not today?!? I gave Oscar a teething rusk... his teeth seem to be playing up big time and he bites down on anything he can get his hands on. He didn't seem to mind it and he had a good chew... what do you all think?! Am I ok to keep giving them to him for relief even though we haven't started solids?!
V- That's great you got into the course... it would be amazing!!
Sacha- That's great that you were able to leave Autumn in your DHs capable hands ;) It's nice to be able to go out isn't it?! I haven't been out and left Oscar at home with Shane but it won't be in the too distant future!! Mum has looked after Oscar while Shane and I have gone out which was nice!
Jas- Welcome back!! I hope little Noah is going well!
Hope everyone has a great night and will bbl ;)
-
Lis- i know what you mean, it is nice to be so loved! I just find it quite demanding if we go somewhere and he gets fussy with everyone else...wont last forever though so i will deal with it! I did a bit of pureeing this weekend myself. Not sure about the whole feeding thing either but i have just started giving Lucas cereal in the morning after milk and then vegies around 5.30-6, he then has his last bottle 7-7.30 and this has been working...he has slept till 8.30 two days in a row, he normally is up by 7am!!
Oshani- good luck at ikea...i always get lost there! Also good luck at the RCH its always stressful to have to go there (lucas had a heria op at 11 weeks) but i am sure it will all be fine!
Sacha - i am glad everything went well with DH's baby sitting duties, i will have to remember waltzing matilda when i need to calm lucas!
I have been at a baby shower today and DH baby sat, Lucas was an angel and had two big (well big for him!) sleeps while i was out. DH gave him some sweet potato and it is still stuck up his nose!!

Hi everyone
Well, we've had quite a good weekend. On Saturday Diana went to her friend's third birthday party. It was quite good, not as hectic as I expected, although I think all the parents were secretly thinking that there wasn't enough alcohol, lol. It was good though. She was too little to play with the other kids. One little boy tired to play with her, picked her up, then put her down and she tipped over and hit her head on the floor. Poor little thing, and poor little boy, he kind of ran away after that. Still all good.
Yesterday, Diana managed a three hour sleep during the day. Woo hoo! I managed to sleep for two of those hours and felt so refreshed afterwards (and then exhausted myself doing housework all evening :wall:). Diana then wouldn't go to sleep at night. Sigh. So I had to carry her around in the sling while I did the cooking, laundry, etc. At one point Diana started pulling on my top and bra, telling me that she wanted breastmilk. What a clever little girl! After a feed, she went to sleep for a few hours (thankfully), before waking up again at midnight. So all in all, I'm not sure if that long lay sleep was worth it. It was brilliant at the time though.
Oshani - I think its okay to give Oscar rusks before starting solids. Diana got her first teeth at 4 months, so we gave her rusks too. Hope you feel better soon.
Megan - I've heard of lots of babies getting separation anxiety at this stage. Apparently its something to do with them becoming aware that they are their own person and not part of mummy. Luckily Diana seems to be fine with other people, although she doesn't like to be left alone.
Jas - welcome back!
Nicky - awww, so lovely to read your thoughts on Lachlan. I feel the same way about Diana. :heartbeat:
Sacha - yay on DH being able to settle Autie. Its a comfort to know that he can do it, isn't it? :)
Veronica - yay on getting into the scuba diving course. Hope that you can work things out with your boss too. I've just had a job interview for a part-time role this morning, but am not sure if I am ready to do it. Oh well, if I get the position, I'm sure I'll be able to work it out.
Rebecca - hope you and Xavier feel better soon. Go to a chemist or natural health shop as there are things that you can take while bfing, e.g. garlic and echinacea, lemon and honey, etc. How's work going for you?
Hi to everyone else. :)

Hey everyone
I hope everyone and bubs are doing well. We are good over here... Just checked onAvaleigh is she is trying to crawl in her cot!! She is meant to be sleeping LOL
I had my second day of my dive course yesterday and it was all day in the pool. It was a fun day but I am really sore today from carrying around the heavy equipment! Jason had Avaleigh all day from 7.30am to 5.30pm and he said she did not cry once and slept heaps for him!! Why cant she do that with me??!! I think it was because he spent all day playing with her, and the house was a mess when I got back!
Anyway, better go...

I am just getting on to say that i am so stupid! Lucas woke up after half an hours sleep and i knew he was still tired so i picked him up and settled him and then put him back to bed. He then started crying again so i thought id do some controlled crying and go in after 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 min...he screamed and screamed till i was in tears listening but didn't want to give in, but i did after the 8 min time and picked him up and he was still screaming and whimpering and it took me so long to settle him. I ended up in tears again cos i felt so bad. I have finally just put him down again. If i had have just got him up after half an hours sleep i would have saved us both the trauma! AARRHHH!!
