Hi Sarsie - welcome to the July baby thread. We would love to have you join in! We have a great bunch of girls here and everyone is very friendly and supportive. I have a DS who was born August 04 and another DS May 06 and a DD 9 July 07! BB is great - it is so great to get advice from others who have babies of the same age.
Looking forward to getting to know you.
Hi everyone else. YAY DH got home today :D but only for 5 days :( so I am going to have to make the most of him being around! The boys were so excited to see him - very cute.
Charlotte woke twice last night and has been a bit unsettled over the past couple of days so I am wondering if teeth are on the way - I cant see or feel any but she has been bit sad which is very unlike her. I guess time will tell. This sounds silly but I just cant believe how quickly these babes are growing up. I mean that for all of my children but with Charlotte she isnt the little baby I brought home from the hospital (obviously ) but you know what I mean - she will be asking for the car keys before I know it!! Scary and exciting but sad.
I am going to be slack tonight so sorry for the lack of personals.
Hope you and the babes are all well.
Will BBL
take care
Jem
Hi Sarsie, welcome to our group. You will love it, the girls on here are just great! My DS1 was born 20 Jan 99 and my DS2 was born 9 July 07. Looking forward to getting to know you and your boys.
Jemima - I know exactly what you mean. I keep telling DF how sad I am that Oliver is growing up so fast. I feel like it was only yesterday that I had Lexxen and now he is 9!!! We will be grandparents before we know it! Are you guys planning on having anymore?
Raels definitely no more for us. Charlotte was an oopsie baby so we are still in shock that we have three - although very happy!
Hi Sara nice to meet you. I see you are in country Vic - do you have many other mums around you? Or is country not as isolated as I'm picturing? LOL I don't know your state well at all, I'm afraid.
Jem, it must be so nice for DH to have his kids excited to see him. Is Charlotte noticing when he comes and goes now? Autie has begun to get quite unsettled with DH's coming and going. I think the separation anxiety kicks in and she looks all around for him after he leaves and gets very grizzly. He's home at the moment, and she's such a happy camper during the day (night is another story atm - doh!)
Well, I spent $150 on a safety entertainer so I'd have somewhere for Autie to be while I showered etc and she hates it! Now that she's crawling, she doesn't want to be stuck in one place for even short lengths of time, no matter how interesting the toys are! I have all the packaging (thank goodness) and can take it back providing I can unsnap all the toys from it without breaking any. Fingers crossed because that's money I sure can't afford to waste.
Anyone got any 'need-to-knows' about lightweight strollers? Maybe things I should look for when buying one (aside from the standards)
Raels, can you think of somewhere that would be good for these on the go babies to meet up? Maybe Mel has some ideas?
Autie has a piano that's at about face height when she's on her hands and knees. Yesterday I looked over to see her leaning on it with her hands and sticking her bum up in the air in an almost standing position - she was so proud of herself :)
Hi everyone else. I didn't get a chance to look back - hope everyone has had a happy week.
Ahh finally some time! Just had mothers group and lucas fell asleep in the car on the way home, he hardly even budged when i got him out of the car which has never done before he usually snaps wide awake when the car turns off, poor little pickle must be exhausted!!
He is much better, lots of good solid poo!! He he!!
Sacha - do you think Autie will get used to her little entertainer or is there no hope? She sounds pretty clever with her standing! I hope your nights get better, at least you have some support atm with DH home, i dont know how you do it when he's gone, very inspiring, i am a sook when DH is out for one night!!
Jem - glad your DH is home too!! God it must be tough with 3 on your own at times! I struggle to handle one and DH can even come home for lunch most days, shocking!! Can't believe you mentioned our babies with car keys, far out i hope i can handle a teenager!
Hi Sarsie...the more the merrier!
Em - the fact Tom loves a bra is hilarious, will have to tell DH that one!!
Sorry thats all i remember, have had a headache for days, i think i forget to drink during the day!!
Is anyone else a secondary school teacher by any chance?? Just have a question thats all!!

Hi everyone, juat a quick pop in, to ask about prune juice. Kaetlyn has become contispated, so I have given her prune juice- how much should I need to give her? I diluted it 20ml to 80ml of water. She only drank 20mls- I dont think she really likes the flavour (I dont blame her really!).
TIA
LMAO Megan- you're not thinking about high schools for Lucas already are you? HEhehe
No not quite! Just a question about going back to work thats all! Not ready to think of lucas as a teenager!
Welcome sarsie. I am in coutry Vic too, but highly doubt you would have any idea where fernihurst is! LOL Just near Bendigo, and Rebecca is also a Bendigo Bogan with me:)
Girls, keep an eye on your valuables. Lach isnt 'crawling' but his commando/caterpillar effort led him to some of our dvds the other day. He didn't eat them, just wanted a play. LOL
He's enjoying his first ever fruit, pears. Hoping that it helps his #2's a little. Will just have to wait and see when he decides its time. lol
Hope you are well. We finally got Broadband today after 2 years of dial up! I don't know how we survived.
xxoo
P.S, Fran I know you're out there!!! Just saying hello and luv ya;)
:)
Megan, that's great news about little Lucas bear. You must be breathing a little easier. It's so easy to forget to drink isn't it? (the right stuff anyway) Talk your DH into giving you a deserving mummy rub - it's probably part tension headache from worrying about Lucas. I have given Autie 3 tries in the entertainer while I was in the shower and each time I had to get out after 2 minutes and take her out, after which, she played happily on the floor of the walk in robe for as long as I needed her to. I'm just putting it down as a learning experience.
Hmm, Sara, not sure about the juice. I guess I would have probably diluted it to about that strength if I was trying it. I guess something is better than nothing. Have you tried googling it? the internet knows everything LOL
Teenagers. I'm not having one. My daughter will stay small and cute and always ready for a cuddle with no problems involving boys/curfews/alcohol/drugs.
Nicky, I don't know how you survived on dial up either! I know my patience would've worn way thin in about 2 mins LOL Good news on Commando Lachie and his pears. I just bought some today to try Autie on. She likes magazines, newspapers and the cord that holds the vertical blinds together at the bottom, hasn't discovered the CDs...yet.
Sacha - you're probably right about the tension headaches...hopefully they will start to disappear but unfortunately i am one of those people that tend to stress about everything!! Thats a bugger about the entertainer, cant believe the cheeky monkey prefers the walk in robe!! I agree about the teenager thing, i remember all the times i told my parents i was "sleeping over at my best friends place" when i was running a muck!!! Nothing really bad but now i feel horrible for lying given i have my own little munchkin and i would hate him to lie to me!! (not that he can even talk yet!!!!!!) Hope you get a better sleep!!
Nicky - dont get too addicted to the internet now its fast!!
Well its 8pm and DH is asleep on the couch! What have we become????????????
Hey this is really sad but god i am hanging to know what the go is with MILKO on Home and Away!! LOL
XX
LOL I don't watch Home and Away anymore, but I found myself ringing my SIL the other day to ask what was going on with Sally and Milko! I did a version of that 'best friend's place' where I said we were going to hang out at the basketball hall. We hung out in the park next door instead and drank and smoked and then mum would pick us up at 10pm and WOULDN'T KNOW!?! How she couldn't smell us I just don't know. Good grief, I'm gonna be so paranoid. I wouldn't put it past me to sneakily follow Autie to check up on her! That's why - no teenager.
Hi everyone
I am sooo tired tonight. Diana is sooky energizer baby again today. I couldn't handle it this morning and ended up yelling at her to shut up (and then felt sooo bad the minute after I did it, I mean, she's only a baby and wasn't trying to **** me off).
DH, Diana and I went shopping this afternoon and bought Diana her first doll. She looks so cute playing with it. We also went to Baby Kingdom and found a good playpen, which wasn't too expensive, only to be told that they had none in stock and that we couldn't have the display model. They ordered one in, which will be there next week, so we have to put up with energizer baby crawling everywhere for the next few days. :wall: I found the same playpen on ebay. The auction finishes on Sunday, so if the price is right, I might try and get that one to have it earlier.
Megan - glad to hear that Lucas is better.
Sasha - oh no, don't remind me of teenagers. If Diana does half the things that I got up to I will be seriously worried. I did so many different versions of the "I'm going to my friend's house" thing... shudder... I hope Diana is way more sensible.
Nicky - yay on getting broadband! And yay on Lachlan commando crawling. Be careful though - he is just going to get better and better and faster and faster. Scary. Diana can now crawl across the length of the living room in the time that it takes me to turn around. Seriously.
Sara - I haven't tried prune juice, but I think the proportions you mentioned sound about right. Did it work? I might have to try something similar for Diana tomorrow. (Hopefully it won't come to that, and she will go on her own.)
Sarsie - welcome! What's your DS name?
Jemima - I know what you mean about these babies growing up so fast. I look at Diana now and she seems HUGE compared to how she was when she was first born. She is definitely becoming a little girl, rather than just a baby iykwim.
Hi to everyone else!
BTW, I have finally updated Diana's site if anyone wants to have a look.
Hi All, well the prune juice I think worked. She didnt like the taste, so I diluted it even further. She only got pureed pears yesterday (and I mixed in some more prune juice to hide it from her). She seemed to master the art of drinking the juice from the bottle and letting it fall out the other side of her mouth where i couldnt see it coming out :wall:.
All is good, after a lot of tummy rubs, bicycle legs, and Grunting on her behalf, she had two pellet poos then when I was putting her to bed, I changed her nappy, and there was the biggest poo there!! Yeah Kaetlyn . I was so excited I called DH in to look (hehehe and he ended up changing the whole nappy)!!
It was really funny cause as soon as we put her in her walker while we had dinner, she was grunting away for ages! Poor thing. But it was funny, there was no walking going on in the walker last night let me tell you!
She was a lot happier late last night and this morning she is so happy and playful again! It is nice to have my good happy bubba back. I think I will give her a little prune juice each morning to make sure things are running, well, should I say freely??
Lol at the whole post about my DD's #2's.
I know all about the number 2 obsession, i just had it the other way around!!!!
Hey, quick question girls. To those of you who have used stone fruit to make fruit puree. Did you boil the fruit first or just mashed it once it is nice and soft? I haven't done my own stone fruit before but I bought some yummy plums and peaches yesterday and I want to make up a batch and freeze it. Also can you freeze Babnana/Avo mash? I was thinking about adding some orange juice to stop it from going brown, what do you think? Has anyone tried it?
Mel - i had some peaches which i boiled in water for a few minutes then blanched in cold water to remove the skins. I think next time i might just steam and not worry about removing the skins - once its pureed it should be fine. I had some apricots which i baked to soften (apperently it helps retain the flavour) and then pureed.
Avocado and banana is fine to freeze. I froze some avo with a bit of lemon juice, but the banana i just froze as it. It did go abit brown but T doesnt seem to care.
