Alright! I am back. Avaleigh is having a nap and I have managed to wash my hair. I havent done the breakfast dishes yet, but that can wait, so I can get a little bit of a break from it all.
Megan - I hope you nut out your little milk problem!! The half before bath and half after sounds alright. I guess you just got to try different things and hopefully find something that works.
Hmm.. thats all I have got to comment about this morning! haha :) I hope everyone else is doing well.
We're OK over here. A little bummed that my car battery is dead cause now we are home bound!! Not sure if we can get a new battery before the end of the week as money is a bit tight. Its hard times here at the moment as Jason's work has really slowed down, so its a bit scarey. They think its going to be slow over the next 6 weeks before it picks up again.... Still unsure of whether I should go back to work or not, neither Jason or I want me to go back, but we will see how the next couple of months go as my position is still being held at my job..
Sleeping through the night here is still really hard!! We are waking up once during the night and it is exactly 6 hours after the last feed. I think that this waking has now turned in to Avaleigh's routine and I dont like it!!! I tried one night to just rock her back to sleep but she woke up 1 hour later, so I fed her and we slept til 6am. I just dont know what to do! I just want to have a full nights sleep!! We have an appt with the child health nurse on Monday, so I hope she has some advise for me.
I got some food questions... when giving bub toast, are you just giving them plain toast? I am afraid of giving Avaleigh plain toast as I find its doing to be dry and she is going to choke on it! She likes her finger foods, had a good ol' munch on some pear yesterday. Thats as far as we have gone... And what is everyone giving their little ones for lunch? I am giving fruit and yohgurt and leaving vegies for dinner, but maybe thinking giving vegies for lunch too?? I think I am going to check out the heinz website!
Well I better go and do these dishes!! And hopefully Avaleigh will still be asleep so I can get on to some of the business's paperwork..
-
Megan76 - As we have to travel 7 hours to melb we are looking at 4 or more days just to make it worth while Not sure when we will be attending as they have to ring me back... The MCHN also has a local lady that deals with sleep study and she should be ringing me this afternoon to make a time so she can come around and have a bit of a talk to me before goin to tweedles... Did it cost anything? if so is it covered by medicare? i have no idea thats why im asking
Also MCHN juist rang me about another centre in melb called the Oconnell early learning centre has anyone heard or been to them?
-
Sarah - i have a feeling ours was free, think it was a local gov one but i cant really remember. I am pretty sure there is a cost for the longer stays. I think Tweedle have a website maybe try and google it. I havent heard of the O'Connell one. A guy my husband knows through work did a week long one in Melb, i think it was at one of the hospitals? Anyway he swore by it, their baby started sleeping 12 hours at night and 2 one and half hour sleeps during the day. Personally i would jump at the chance if Lucas was a poor sleeper, it is one of the most important things in our house!!

Oh boy, what a day its been with Avaleigh whinging. I hope that all this comotion has got something to do with teeth coming through and its not just a terror child!! We've had screams at nearly everything - changing nappies, now dinner time!
ARGH - better go save dad from the tears and try feed her myself again..
-
Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd pop in after giving up on the ironing. I swear it's not normal for a man to have more clothes to iron than his wife, lol ;)
To my surprise, Jacks first tooth is about t poke through. I really wasn't expecting it for sometime, since Charlize didn't get hers until 12 months. So yey for Jack.
I found out Jacks fav food tonight. Ravioli, he looovvvveeedddd it!! He ate about 12 squares cut up into quaters. Plus his vege cubes. It kind of makes me sad, he is starting to get over spoon feeding and more into feeding himself. Where has my baby gone????
But on a good note, I mentioned to DH the other day about maybe having another one later on, and he said lets see. So yey!! He didn't say are you crazy. Fingers crossed my pregnancy days aren't over yet.
What is fenugreek? Does it boost your supply? I feel like I need to boost mine. Jack has been playing with me, and I think it's because he isn't getting enough. How do you take it? Can anyone help?
Anyway, as some on you might know. My sister is getting married in May. And she is having a Hucks night the week before when is she is down from Mt Isa. Anyway her friend up there has organised a hens night for her. I really really want to go, but I don't know if it's possible. I would have to express 5 bottles for that weekend alone, then another 2 for the hucks night, then another 3 for the wedding. I don't know if I have enough in me for this. I'm hoping this fenugreek will help. If not, what formula do any of you use to suppliment feed?
Sorry for the lack of personals, I'm just so tired.
Sorry.
-
Morning!
Megan ~ Sorry to hear you are having troubles with bottles still. What size teat are you using? I wonder if he would take more at one time if the flow was faster IYKWIM? Does he like sippy cups? I found when Lucas did go off his bottles it was when I was starting to up his food, as in going from 1or 2 meals a day to 3 regular meals a day. I added formula to what I could, custard, cereal, and even ? a scoop in veggies, with a dash of water and thinkened back up with baby oatmeal. If you do this with pumpkin it turns out like a soup! It is stressful when they wont take their milk I know, and I hope it turns around for you soon. 2months ago Lucas was 7.2kg, I'd say he is either just under or over 9kg now, could well be 10kg I'm not sure.
Well cant stay too long, off to work this morning. The teachers were striking yesterday so I had the day off but back into it today.
Have a great day everyone!
-
WAHOOOOOOOOOOOO Bayeligh slept from 1030 till 530  he has never done that but the worse thing is i cant remember wat i did different last night (IF i did do anything different) lets hope that he can do it again tonight
well ill be BBL gotta get DD ready for school
-
Mel - You can get fenugreek at most chemists or health stores, it's a natural product (seed I think) and it does help to boost supply. The midwife at the hospital told me to start with one tablet three times a day but she did say you can take up to six a day. After asking about formula here just recently and hearing what everyone had to say, I ended up going with the Heinz Nurture Step 2 for Autie because it was the cheapest (and as someone else said, you can work up from there if it doesn't suit you) Anyway, I really didn't think autie would have a bar of it but she drank it without even one funny look. It's possible it has caused some pebble poos but I've been making sure she has plenty of water ( I leave the cup on the floor so she can help herself) and also a little prune juice and we don't have that problem anymore.
I hear you on the self-feeding - Autie loves to feed herself and I have to get the spoonfuls in around it. Sometimes now, she has whole meals of just finger foods. Yey on Jack's first tooth and the maybe-baby:)
Sarah, great news on the sleep front. Often when I've had a good night,I start thinking about everything I did so I can repeat it, but I think in the end, it's just luck a lot of the time. What worked yesterday, might not today so I end up just sticking with what I always do LOL
V, it does sound like poor little Avaleigh is having a hard time with her teeth. Autie was just the same and has changed back since they have come through. I really recommend the Brauer's teething relief though - you can give it quite often and they take it easily. Autie gets excited when she sees the bottle. Food wise, check out the wholesomebabyfood site - it has some great information and ideas. Give her a chance with the finger food and sit close -she might surprise her mum! (Plus she'll really enjoy it if her teeth are bothering her)
Jem, it's so great that you're enjoying work. Hope it all continue to go well.
Autie has started pointing out things like the fan or her ball when asked which is quite cute. No words yet except an occasional possible 'mum'.
We have a nice rainy day today so hopefully this nap willl be a long one. Better gets some stuff done. Take care.
-
That's great Sarah!! I hope it continues!!
Well Lucas now has a nasty cold! Yesterday he woke up beside himself after 20 min of an afternoon nap and started coughing/choking/dry reaching...he did finally get stuff up but it was just saliva really. It was so scary! He was up for about an hour in the night screaming too. Poor little poppet! Taking him to the doc today just to make sure his ears/throat/chest are ok.
My SIL and her husband are flying in from Tassie tomorrow night....everytime they see Lucas he is sick and grumpy, i am so upset about it! Hopefully he will be a bit better by the time they arrive, i want them to spend time with cheeky, happy little boy!
Well must get ready to go to the doctors!

Hi Ladies
Finally got some time between uni assignments and been a mum to get on here.
Jas- Thanks for letting me know about Tayahs webpage, managed to fix it, just need to update now. And thanks about Tayahs name, we love it too:) I was looking at Noahs webpage too, he's a real cutie.
Jan- Tayah has baby porridge and/or mashed fruit for breakfast, thinking about starting her on some toast just for some variation.
Raels- Glad to hear Oliver is feeling better and you are all managing to get some sleep.
Sarah- Woohoo on Bayleigh standing on his own and sleeping the night through. As for the sterilising, we are still sterilising bottles and dummies, I thought it had to be done until 12mths but could be wrong. Just do what you feel is best.
Mel- Not long til you get your new car, you must be very excited. And yay on the tooth
Veronica- I hope Avaleigh settles for you soon. I hear you on the tight money situation, I cant wait til I finish uni and can earn some money (although im not looking forward to leaving her while I work). As for what Tayah has for lunch/dinner, I give her both fruit and veges for lunch and dinner, so whatever fruit and veg she has for lunch I give her diff fruit and veg for dinner. Thinking of starting her on some meat this week too. I havnt given Tayah any toast yet but when I do il prob put some avocado or something on it so its not dry.
Megan- hopefully the half bottle before bath and half after worked for you. Just read your last post, poor little man, hope he feels better soon.
Jem- good to hear your enjoying being back at work.
Sacha-how cute that Autie has started pointing at things, when we ask Tayah something she crawls to it, her favourite is "where's the puppies?" and she clawls to the back doors and talks to the dogs through the glass doors.
Well as for us, I entered Tayah in a Pumpkin Patch 'how cute is your baby' competition on the weekend that was in the newspaper, and yesterday on my way to uni my phone rang and it was a lady from the comp telling me Tayah had won a $100 voucher for Pumpkin Patch. I was so excited, iv never won anything before other then like a meat tray, Tayah must be good luck :)
Anyway hope you are all having a great day

Updated exciting news!!!!! I have a birth. The lady is due 1st June!!! I am so excited!! Wow what a great 1st day as a Student Doula!!!

Megan- Dont you hate it when family come to visit the kids are always sick.... 12 months ago Every time we had my DstepS he was always sick whether it be an ear infection or gastro or a cold he was ALWAYS sick and it sucked as we couldnt take him anywhere as the poor thing had no energy to do anything
How did lucas go at the doctors? hope its nothing to serious
Well today Bayleigh has been letting go of the furniture and standing alone heaps more often its amazing that once they do something they just keep going with it..... Bayleigh has had his first lot of fingerfood today for lunch he had a vegemite sandwich which he loved and didnt choke on one bit of it YIPPEE and after his normal meat and vegies we sat down for a roast chook dinner so i ripped up some of the chicken breast and put it in his bowl and he ate most of that too with out choking YIPPEE LOL sorry im just excited as everyother time ihave given him something chunky he has choked on it but today he didnt YAY so now i know he wont choke (FINGERS CROSSED) i can keep up with finger foods
Still NO teeth here :( Is there any other bubs out there that DONT have any????????
well im gunna go and have a bath have a good night girls
Sarah
-
Yey Jas, that's great news.
-
Jas- Congrats on the Doula course and your first birth
Sarah-We still have no teeth too. I didnt get my first tooth til I was 13mths old, so im not really expecting any soon.
-
Hey Everyone!
Avaleigh has just gone done for her morning nap. I didnt even need to help! A little bit of a cry in bed and then she passed out. We have one tooth that is nearly all out but the other one is still sitting under her gum and probably causing lots of pain. I am going to buy the brauers teething stuff tonight when we go food shopping.
I think I have come to the conclusion that I will be going back to work, part time. So I am looking for what is out there, and nothing is really jumping out at me!! Very tough decision because I dont want to leave Avaleigh and Jason doesnt want me to eaither, but its just too stressful with money at the moment and there are so many things I want to buy.... So, those mum's that have already gone back to work - any tips and advice for me?!?!
Jas - yay on the doula course and your first birth!
-
I am going to sound like such a nuffy but is a doula a midwife??
-
Hey Megan, don't feel like a nuffy (he he great terminology) I didn't know what a Doula was until a lady who was in our Due group started studying to become one.
A doula is a birth support person. Has no clinical duties, we work along with a private midwife, hospital widwife or OB, or neither if someone has an unassisted homebirth. But definately no clinical duties. We offer information to ladies and their partners before labour, to help assist them make there on decisions about birth. Usually information that isn't normally told to you from hospital staff. We then are present for the birth (if you choose), to offer encouragement, support and suggestions on pain managment. And then a post natal visit, to offer support and reassurance and guideness with BF, diapering, cord care, sleeping etc. Even some house hold duties to help out. If you look up Doula in the dictionary it says 'slave' but I guess more a modern day slave, ;).
I'm loving it so far. It's very rewarding knowing you are helping someone achieve the birth they are after. It's amazing how much I have learnt about how our bodies, especially the brain works during labour. I can't wait until my first birth.
-
Hi girls! I always leave this too late to post when Tom is down for his nap and is just about to wake up! I always just have so much other stuff to do! Hope you are all well. Everything is going well here - loving my new job. My SIL had T yesterday and he had a great time. I think next wk he will have to go to daycare, so will see how that goes. Sacha, I think you asked a while ago what kind of care he will be going to - daycare at an ABC centre. By some freaky conicidence there is only usually one other baby in his room on the day he is booked in. He can keep her company I guess!
I have been reading through the posts but bit hard to keep up at the moment - or at least do many personals anyway!
V - are you going to go back to your old job or look for something new? I wasn't overly keen on going back to work in that I didn't want to leave Tom , but on the other hand I really wanted to get out of the house and have some 'me' time that included a lunch break! And extra money is great - I am going to use it for stuff that Tom needs and family trips out, so that DH's money can go towards the house and bills etc. I got up at 6am yesterday which DH thought was ridiculously early but I wanted to get myself organised and ready to go before T woke up. I was so tired yesterday - I don't know how Becc does it everyday! She is a superwoman.
Well done Jas! You and Mel can fill us in on all the exciting stuff you will be doing.
Opps, he is starting to stir. Better go have some mummy/son time seeing as I wasn't with him yesterday. My SIL said he was great all day, very happy - although he had a little meltdown last night. I think he was tired because he didn't sleep a lot during the day or drink much.
Are all the bottle feeding girls still doing 4 bottles a day? I know this question was asked a while ago but I haven't got time to go back over our threads to find it. We are having a bit of a struggle with T's bottles still and I am wondering if it would be better to go down to 3 larger bottles.. Just not sure of what times to give them. I have always just done it when he wakes up, then 11, 3 and 6.30pm. Any suggestions?
Has anyone heard from Jess at all? I have been thinking of her..
-
Thanks Mel...sounds great! Is there much of a demand for them?
Em - Lucas has 3 bottles, but you know i still have dramas with even three! He has one when he wakes up in morning, one about 12pm and one before bed around 6.30pm. Pretty much just breakfast, lunch and tea! Glad you are enjoying your job!
Lucas is still pretty stuffed up and snotty! He has been generally happy and there were no wake ups last night so i am sure he will be fine! He has this fascination at the moment of turning his head on its side to look at you! He's doing it to me now its hilarious his head is nearly hitting the floor! Crazy kid!!
-
Em - When did you return back to work and are you working full time or part time?? I am looking for a new job, as my old job is a load of crap and I get paid too little. So, I am looking and dont know what to look for!! All I know is administration, but I dont want to sit on a front desk and answer phones all day. I am thinking of personal assistant work, but dont have the experience and dont know if I want to do other people's crap all day! But really, that is what I DID do at my last job... So yeh, just looking and keeping my eye open for something that stands out to me!!
I would like to hear how Bec is handling working full time and being a mum!! What do you do with the breastfeeding - do you just express at work at the time you would normally feed?
-
V - I only started my job last week. It is only one day at week and every 2nd Sat at the moment, so it is a really good gradual easing back into the workforce! I will be doing more days leading up to busier times like Christmas and when other staff are on holidays etc. I am working in a bookshop and loving it so far, although I keep picking out books to buy for Tom! PA work sounds great - you do have experience - you are currently Avaleigh's PA ;).
Thanks Megan for your advice. I think I will try only 3 tomorrow. Tempting to do none at all - he messes around so much!! He has learnt to hold the teat in his mouth so no milk comes out. I think "oh he is drinking well", then realise its not going down! I think he has been texting Lucas on how to annoy and frustrate mummy at milk time!
-
I am currently creating a new resume... its kinda exciting and scarey at the same time!!
-
Morning!!
Its nearly 9am here and Avaleigh has just woken up for the day! Well what a sleep in! We did get up at 2am for a feed but she has never slept in this long. I better go see the little munckin - she'll be full of smiles!
-
V- what a massive sleep in...i'm very jealous! Good luck with the resume!
Em - i agree....they are both out to get us! I can't wait till 12 months when its not as important..bring it on!! It sounds fun to work in a bookshop! You may as well try the three bottles, its one less hassle a day anyway!! How has Tom adjusted to daylight savings changes? If well, whats your secret cos Lucas was awake at 6am this morning and i am not coping!!
Have a good weekend everyone! We have my SIL and BIL staying from Tassie all weekend. Lucas was great with them this morning so i am so relieved as he can be funny with people he never sees but it was smiles and cheekiness all round....not bad for a sick little poppet!!
-
Hey!
Quiet in here today... everyone must be out and about, not like us!!
Jason and I had a talk this afternoon about work and where life is taking us. I have applied for a full time job, so we will see what happens there. Jason was also saying that if things still arent looking good for us in 6 months time, then we may move to Ireland. It would be a HUGE move but Jason has family over there, I think they might even be one of the richest people in Ireland and he could get some work with them and they should look after us. It has its pros and cons. Major con for me is I would be leaving my family, that is a major concern for me but if it needs to be done, it will be done. A pro would be visiting all the european towns and we would double our money when we come back to Australia. So yeh... jsut got to keep an open mind about it I guess!!
I'm freshly making Avaleigh's dinner tonight.. I hope she likes it! SHe isnt a fan of homemade stuff these days
-
Hi Everyone,
I have just got back from the hospital! A friend of mine had her baby today! His name is Matthew she had a planned c/s this morning due to some complications - she only found out yesterday arvo that they would do a c/s. Unfortunately because of the particular issues she had she also had to go under a general so her husband wasn't allowed to be there at the time. Ver y exciting though a little friend for Noah!
V, Wow that would be HUGE! Good luck with the job! Hey and maybe Ava would even get an irish accent...that would be cute!
-
Jas, congratulations on your decision to become a doula. Hope you really enjoy the studies and work.
Sarah, finger food fun is exciting isn't it? A whole new world for Bayleigh to enjoy!
V, that's big news for you and your family. It would be hard to leave everyone you know and love but what an adventure for you all! I would love to visit Ireland someday, don't mind a Guinness...
Haven't heard from Jess Em. I hope she is doing ok too. It's great that you and Tom are happy with your new arrangements. It's really unusual for a baby room to not be full of babies - is it a mixed age group?
Megan, I'm picturing the head turning and it makes me smile.. How cute are these little things they do? Autie does an excellent bum dance whenever we have have music on - she stands up against something especially so she can do it. Hope he is feeling better and having lots of fun with the relies.
Well, I finally got Autie to accept the breast with a nipple shield on so we are not comp feeding atm. It's still painful but at least bearable. She is very proud that she can walk behing her push thingie and has started to babble a bit more which I'm happy with. I have just gotten her out of bed where she had found my clean washing at the bedside table and pulled a selection in to the cot to play with.
Better go have some play time.
Have a great weekend everyone.
-
Sacha - gorgeous pic of Autumn on your ticker! She is going to be a stunner! Love the bum dancing! It's not a mixed room - babies only and normally quite full, just not on Wednesday's for some reason! On a Wednesday, apparently they may send one of two of the younger kids from the next room in if they are busy.
Very quite day today. I went shopping and came home with a Fisher Price outdoor swing and a Elmo bean bag for Tom - both of which he loves already - a couple of tops from Jeans West for me, including a gorgeous cream woolen hooded cardie for me. Bring on the cold weather for one day at least so I can wear it!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend girls!
-
Em - i think i might have bought the same hoodie today..how funny!!
Sacha - the head turning is so adorable, but he is a bit obsessed with it at the moment...does it to everyone he meets! The bum dance sounds very cute, and i am glad the feeding is a bit less painful!!
V - big decisions for you guys to make...could be very exciting though and as sacha said quite an adventure! I say go for it!
I am very excited! At the home show we filled in this questionnaire at a photographers stand and today they rang me to say we have got a free $400 sitting and i LOVE thier photos, i fell in love with them when i saw them at the home show! They are very natural and contemporary i guess. Can't wait! Have a great weekend everyone!!
-
Hi all,
long time no post.
I have only skimed over some bits and pieces
V, We are still BF, I hope to continue to around the 12 month mark. But It is quite a juggle expressing at work.
Solids, we are on a combination of different foods, and trying lots fast. I've basically gone no holds bared except for the known allergens, as we don't have any food allergies.
He loves Rockmelon, it's not too soft, not too firm, nice and cold on the gums, and has flavor.
He hasn't been sleeping through the night, but it has been getting better. Yet we do use a lot of infants friend. which as well as helping with wind, I believe is supposed to help with teething.
Nicki, you said you had to express every 5 hours. Xavier only feeds about every 5 hours now, so maybe Lach is just cutting back.
Brief update on where we are.
Sleep this week has been etter, we are finally getting more than 2 hours at any one time. Xave is eating lots, but being a little fussy about it.
MCHN said we could use real milk on foods like cereal. So we have switched to that on weetbix and we've tried oats this morning. he hates farex.
I've asked creche to introoduce some sancks so he's getting arvo tea now, which I think is helping his sleep. He is always tired when he gets home, so I don't think he was eating enough, and the poor sleep was from being in a perpetual cycle of no sleep means fussy eating, and being hungry meant no sleep.
Well best be off,
-
Morning Everyone!!
Yes, moving the Ireland would be a huge move and definitely an adventure. It is something to think about doing in the future, especially since Jason thinks about it every couple of days!! The last I heard of it was nearly 6 months ago so I didnt know how serious he could be. I think its mainly so he can have a career change, he's been roof tiling for 10 yrs and doesnt have any other experience. So it his family could give him a chance, it would be good for him. Not sure how i'll go but we will pass that bridge when and if it comes!
Em - yay for the shopping! I havent been out shopping in ages. I cant wait to be earning some money so I can get some 'toys' for myself too!! My clothes are so old and hanging off me these days..
Megan - YAY for the photo shoot!! Thats a great prize to win. I want professional photos done but they are so expensive!
Rebecca - Hey! Yeh it would be a juggle expressing at work. Its hard for me to get my head around, but I guess I will start worrying about that if I get a job. I just wouldnt know how much to express cause of not using bottles during the day! Good luck on the sleep. How does xavier like the real milk on his cereal? I've been trhinking about trying it with Avaleigh but havent given it a go yet..
Well, we have slept through 2 nights in a row!! The night before it was 12 hrs  and last night it was 9 hrs. Plllllleeeeeeeease make it a third night!! I think Avaleigh's second tooth might have broken through, so that could mean things will be back to normal. We will see tonight!! GOt a MCHN appt tomorrow, will be good to know how tall and heavy Avaleigh is, havent had her measurements done since she was 6 or 7 months!
I've applied for 4 jobs this weekend.. We will see if I get any responses during the week. I cant believe I am doing this, my last interview was 4 years ago!!
Anyway, enough blab from me. Going to make a coffee and sit down and watch Ice Age 2 with Avaleigh. Enjoy your day everyone!!
-
OMG I just found out, a lady at my work fell from an Aircraft this morning and died. It's so sad, she was a lovely old lady. Only 2 years away from retirement. DH and I are so shocked, he is just about to leave for work at the airport and isn't looking forward to it, but I really want to know what happened. Something like that just should not happen, they have so many saftey precautions in place. It's unbeliveable and just terrible.
Sorry BBL.
-
Mel - that is shocking! DH and I just saw this on the news. The poor lady and her family.
-
Morning girls
Mel -that is awful i heard something on the radio about that but didnt get all the story

Hi everyone,
Finally, we have a functioning bathroom, so we?re back home and I have a computer back. Yay!
V ? Good luck with all the job applications, hopefully they all come through for you, so that you can pick the one that suits you the most.
Mel ? that is so sad about the lady at your work.
Sarah ? clever Bayleigh, all those new skills he?s picking up. I hope the sleep lady was good today, I?d love to hear what she thought, and to see if it makes a difference for you all. I hope it does, 9 months is a long time to go without a full nights sleep.
Bec ? great to hear from you. The whole sleeping/not eating thing is such a vicious circle. It?s good that the daycare people are able to help out with increasing Xavier?s food. And isn?t it good when they can start eating normal breakfasts like weetbix.
Well, not that much exciting stuff for us really. Liam has discovered that he can grind his 2 teeth together, and I?ve got to say that it?s one of the most hideous sounds I?ve ever heard. Usually he only does it as a way of saying that he?s had enough food, but sometimes I think he does it for fun. I think (hope) that he?s about to get a couple more teeth to match, as he?s been quite grumpy, dribbly, and off his food again, which is what happened with the first two. He?s also waking up every few hours, so I?m exhausted. But he?s learnt to clap, and if he could get a better grip on our floor boards I reckon he?d be close to proper crawling most of the time. It?s just a bit too cold to leave him with bare legs, so he keeps slipping and just ends up doing his commando-ing. It?s so much fun watching him learn new things.

good morning everyone. i am trying to fit in a quick breakfast before Avaleigh gets up. I am going to have my nephew over soon, i am looking after him a couple of times over the school holidays. I feel like the biggest b!tch this moring! My sister and I joined a new gym last week and I told her to get to the gym at 5.45 this morning so we can have a workout before she gets to work. SO I set my alarm and went to bed, woke up a 2am with Avaleigh and thought, cool I have another 3 hrs of sleep. I then wake up 6.30 to the birds singing outside!!! AHHH!!! I blew it.. haha but I have just spoken to her and she is not angry, thank gosh!
Jan - oh what a great thing that Liam discovered!! NOT.. Grinding teeth would not be a very nice thing. You should get Liam some knee pads so he can get some grip on those floor board! ;)
Sarah - I hope you get some answers on the sleeping. The lack of sleep is horrible..
Mel - oh no about the lady from you work. Not very good at all....
Well we never made it to 3 nights in a row of sleeping through :( Not too happy about that and feel a little tired today. Hopefully my nephew wont be too much of a handful. I dont know what I did different the other two nights... We went for Avaleigh's 8 mths check up yesterday and she is doing great! MCHN says she is very advanced for her age as she got 100% in this questannaire we had to fill out. She is 72cm and only 8.8kg. I thought she would be heavier. Its a surprise seeing they dont gain much weight these days compared to the first few months!
And the walking is definitely coming along here!! She has been standing up and has managed to make one step before falling backwards and the other day she took 3 steps and then lost balance!! But on this time I held her up, balanced her and then let go and she took the 3 steps. I am sure once she gets the balance sussed, she will be off!! Not sure whether to be excited or not LOL :)
Think I better go, I might be pushing my luck on here.. Hmm yes! Avaleigh is awake now. BYE!
