Hi all
I havent posted in ages so I wanted to say a quick hi. I dont really have time to say much at the moment - sick kids and a DH who is away!!
I just wanted to quickly say -
Veronica - could it be more than teething - maybe ears? Charlotte is on antibiotics for an ear infection at the moment and both she and Jesse have really subtle signs when they have infected ears - the signs could pass for teething and then when the Dr checks - their ears are infected. I dont mean to cause you more confusion or stress but if she has been off for a couple of days now it might be worth a trip to the Dr?? Just a thought.
Anyway I will BBL to say a proper hi.
Missing you all
Jem

Oh we have sonme peace and quiet!! 30 mins of no crying so looks like the nurofen has helped?? Plus I let her play with some of my cooking utensils while I cooked dinner and now she is happily mowing in to a rusk. Hopefully she will be quiet a little longer so I can clean up and feed all the animals. I can see Avaleigh waking up a few times during the night due to not eating much of her dinner...
No, I am not a wine drinker!! I've always wanted to go to wineries and try it out, maybe I will find a wine I like!! Each spring the Swan Valley do a Spring In The Valley thingy.. I'd like to go on that one day!! I got asked to go last spring but with the breastfeeding and all, was a little difficult.
You know, I would LOVE to have a honeymoon  We have a friend's wedding in the cooke islands in January. I am thinking of leaving Avaleigh with mum as she is on holidays and Jason and I spend that as our honeymoon. But I dont think I would be able to leave Avaleigh!! There will be another 6 month old there too, the couple are pregnant at the moment.. so I dont even think they will have much of a honeymoon!
Oh Happy 2nd birthday Charlize!!! Did she have a good day? What sort of party did she have?? Have you got any plans for Jack's 1st birthday?? Its not too far away!!
Jem - Hmmm you have got me thinking now!! How did Charlotte act?? I know that Avaleigh hasnt been herself since Thursday.. On Thursday she had a 3 hour sleep in the morning and then when we went out shopping she just wasnt her usual self. Gave her dinner when we got home and she was practically falling asleep on the chair. So put her to bed and she slept for an hour before going back to bed her usual time.. I know she has a bit of a rash at the moment over her tummy and face and gets redder on her face when she cries, so I was going to go to the docs about that..
-
V - a rash can sometimes be a sign of a viral infection. charlotte just cried a lot and wouldnt settle and she had some really high temps a few days before. The main indicator/thing was that she didnt like to lie flat - so she was a nightmare to settle which is very unlike her. It is so hard to know isnt it. Thats why I always err on the side of caution and take them to the Dr's. Good luck and I hope you get to the bottom of it soon for your sake and hers.
-
What can be done if the rash is a viral infection? Is it just something that needs to be road out?? I know thats what they said about the rash I got at the end of the pregnancy. We will see what its like in the morning.
-
I think it is just something that fades when the virus is out of their system - or on its way out. With my kids the rash has always gone away on its own when the Dr has said it has been viral. Not totally sure though.

Hey All!!
I hope all is well - I have cold feet! BRR I hate winter
Well Avaleigh has some teeth coming through :cheer: Its her top front two and it looks sooo painful so no wonder she has been so sooky lately! I got a good look at them yesterday and looks like they are cutting through - I hope its quick!! We put some bonjela on it and then I fed and cried to get her to sleep at 8pm, NOPE! Didnt go to sleep until around 10pm. She is a lot better today, asleep at the moment so I am going to make the most of this and have a shower and go outside and pull some weeds. Yes I know! Not really makng the most of it am I?
-
La La La ..... BOY is it quiet in here!!
Avaleigh is down for another sleep, has been asleep for 1 hour and I have nothing to do. I've wash all Avaleigh's clothes, vacuumed, cleaned around the house a little bit, pulled out some weeds, repainted my nails... LOL Now nothing to do except twiddle my fingers!
-
You are a busy worker bee V! I feel like I need to go clean the house now! Hope Avaleigh is ok today - at least there is a reason behind her fussiness.
I just wanted to ask everyone a quick question - how many milk feeds are you doing during the day. I assume everyone will be doing a morning and night, but how many during the day and at what time? I just can't seem to get it right with Tom..
Ok definiately off to do a quick clean and make dinner. The little fella is asleep - exhausted after we spent the afternoon at the park. I am a bit buggered too - all that swinging and climbing through the tunnels and down the slide. I really need to get fit :D
-
Em, Lach has 2-3 during the day, between brekky and bedtime.
Well, Lach's been a very grumpy little man the last few days, as teeth 7 and 8 are cutting. Poor little man.
I also got my first MCN yesterday, and looks like I might get hooked on them pretty quickly. Should save me a fair bit of cash in the long run, I don;t have to pay for water either. lol
On the wedding front, we have the Venue, celebrant, photographer, DJ, my dress, 1 BM dress, and Lach's tux organised. Caterer will be organised by friday, then its just the boys suits, one more BM dress, shoes, hair makeup decos and alcohol to organise and 4 months tomorrow till the big day.
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
-
Em - Avaleigh has lots of feeds during the day!! Its anywhere between 5 - 7 feeds (including first up and last feeds) I feed when she first wakes up, and then again when she is going to go down for her first nap, usually around 9am - the comfort puts her to sleep. We will then give a quick feed when she wakes around 11am. and then another feed around 2pm before afternoon nap. And then maybe a feed before and after dinner before last feed at 7.30pm. She doesnt have much at the feeds during the day, atleast I dont think she does!! But I am exclusively breastfeeding and have a little fear of my milk drying up before 12 months and needing to get Avaleigh on to formula when she hates the stuff. So I give lots of feed so my boobs know milk is still needed!
-
Em - I do around 5-6 feeds per day. Usually one at around 3/4am, then 8am solids followed by milk, lunch at around 12ish, followed by milk at around 1.30/2, sometimes an afternoon "snack", dinner at around 5, then bedtime feed at 7, then either another bedtime feed if he wakes, or I do a rollover at around 10.30. I'm starting to think that he's so addicted to the stuff that I'll be bf when he's 15. And unlike V, I have no concerns about supply, I still leak at times.
V - Liam hates Panadol, but quite fancies Nurofen & Dymadon. The Dymadon is just paracetamol (like Panadol), but is orange flavoured. Nurofen is a particular fav - he looks so disappointed when it's finished, tries to keep sucking on the syringe to get it all out.
Nicky - you sound so organised with your wedding! Have you got used to wearing your engagement ring yet? woo hoo for the mcn.
Hey Jem - good to hear from you.
And bingo - 9.30 & someone's awake.
-
Jan - I wish I still leak!! Well actually I have on a few occassions, but thats at 6am when I am at the gym and my boobs are at the fullest.. hmm yes wasnt very good having a leaky patch while working out! My boobs feel empty during the day - nice and saggy! LOL I had my mum even comment on how saggy they are :(

OK just did a massive read up as i havent been on for ages, but now i dont have the energy for a proper post! Lucas has had a cold for over 3 weeks now, just when it is nearly better it flares back up again and the cough is terrible! He has been a bit clingy and sooky but not too bad considering!! I am having a mini melt down at the moment! We are moving soon and there is so much to do and i am worried about how Lucas is going to cope. I need 30 hours days to get everything done!
Em - You know my milk issues so its probably not worth answering your question but we are having 3 milk feeds a day. However i am thinking of dropping the lunch time one as it is pretty pointless really, i battle to even get 100mls into him so i think at 11 months it can go and i will just give him a cup of milk at lunch and see what happens! Not sure if that is the wrong thing to do but too bad I'm over it and he eats well!!
V - Lucas was shocking when his top teeth came through, they are massive! I hope you get a break from the grumpiness soon!
Nicky - You sound so organised with the wedding. So exciting! I love weddings!!

Hi all.
Everyone experiencing clingy bubs at the mo???Lach is mega clingy! It's driving me batty, cos he is usually so happy to have a big play on his own. Now that he is walking around everything, (not quite on his own yet), he just refuses to sit down and play with any toys, and just crawls to the couches, pulls hmself up and walks along them. That is what he does for a large majority of the day.
Not long ago though, he went for a crawl and made it to the kitchen, and our kitchen is behind 2 doors! It's not as easy spot for him to crawl to, but he was so quiet, stealth like, and I didn't notice he was there until I heard a very quiet giggle, and realise he wasn't in the lounge room!
hehe
Megan - Good luck with the move!
I know ho difficult it is, as we moved when lach was 3 months old, although I can imagine an older baby would be much harder to get anything done with.
Anys, off to do more wedding stuff:)
-
Nicky - yes yes yes.. Liam's sooo clingy. I'm calling it the 20cm rule - it's like if I'm more than 20 cms away, he's beelining for me & trying to climb my legs. Lovely for my ego, but it's so hard, almost impossible to get anything done. The only things that seem to entertain him on his own at the moment are the DVD player (it has lights...), the pram wheels (fascinating) and the bathroom (which has a bit of an echo), plus he likes chewing on his bath toys. But even these are only interesting for a short while.
-
Oh good. It's not just Lachie then! Cos, if Daddy is holding him, and I am out of the room... its not too bad, but if I re enter the room, and Lach sees me.... he starts whinging!
I am not used to the clinginess at all!

Damn i wrote a big post last night and it didnt go thro
Well Bayleigh is good but unfort his sleepign has gone back to way it used to be but kind of a bonus that he isnt waking every hour but hes waking 3 or 4 times as soon as me and DP head to bed he wakes up...
His walking is going great but he's trying to run.. He tried to run at my mum's and she has floor boards therfor he fell straight on his face the poor lil thing
He's eating heaps more too and drinking 400ml before bed so he must be having a growth spurt.. We go and see MCHN on tuesday so ill talk to her about it
Bayleigh is drinking anywhere from 2 to 4 bottles a day it just depends how many bottles his has thro the night but i do just try and give him a bottle of a morning and night and he drinks from his sipper thro the day (sometimes i give him milk in his sipper )
Are any other Mums thinking about introducing cow milks in to their bub's bottles???????
I was thinking of slowly introducing it over the next 2 months so by the time he's 12 months he will be on cows milk full time.. I was just goin to go 2 weeks with 150ml formula and 50ml cows milk and then 2 weeks with 50/50 and so on
I did this with DD 7 yras ago but didnt start till she was 12 months so she was 14 months before she was on cows milk full time... A friend of mine has a 11mth old and she has put her on cows milk full time but she brought vitamins from the chemist that is in a liquard and adds a few mls of them to her DD milk Has anyone else heard of this????????
Well better go and drop DD off at school then im comeing home and cooking sausage rolls yummy (not great for the diet ) LOL but sooo yummy
Sorry for the lack of personals i cant remeber who wrote what

Em - Olivia has 3 feeds 8am (after breakfast) 1:15pm (after lunch) and 6:15pm (before bed) however tomorrow I am dropping the 1:15pm feed so she will be down to 2! I just hope she takes to it - I will just give her more food, Yoghurt and cheese to make up for the calcium.
V and Mel - I hope the teething bubbas are going ok tonight! What do the top 2 look like when they are coming through? What I could see on Olivia was 2 big lumps? She won't let me put Bongela on her anymore, she used to love it but now she screams. So I just give her nurofen before bed.
Sarah - I to am thinking about the transition from formula to cows milk and wondering what to do. I know that at 12 months I will try and drop the morning bottle and give her more breakky (another weetbix or something). I think Olivia will be the type of baby who will want the bottle still before bed so I don't think I can change it to a sippy cup. How do you change to a sippy from the bottle?
Olivia was so funny today, I got to Mum's around her morning sleep (I was working) and I put her down to bed. Mum has toys hanging on her cot, 1 you pull the string and it plays music and the other just jingles (she doesn't have toys at home in her cot, just her dolly and sooky she goes to bed with). Anyway, Mum and I were talking and we then hear the music and giggling coming from the monitor....cheeky monkey got up and pulled the music, thinking she was clever!
So excited, I got some things I orderer for her birthday in the mail. I got a pink sippy cup and a bib that says 1st Birthday Princess and a spill mat that says Princess and some decoration thing to go around her high chair!
I have to print the invites - but DH surprised me with a new PC tonight, a hugh screen with Vista on it but of course these things never run smoothly and I can't get emails (only through internet) and can't use Word etc. The sales guy told DH that Word etc is all on there but all we got was a bloody 60 day free trial!!! Hopefully tomorrow I will have it working so I can print off Olivia's invites and start preparing the envelopes!!
Enough of me, boring chatter.
Good night all hope all the bubbas get through the night ok and their teeth don't worry them!!!
xxxxx
