I think I'm drunk from the risotto Dan just made - he went a teensy bit overboard with the wine and it's the most alcohol I've had in a nearly two years LOL
Em, Tom kissing the horses and strangers at the shop - so sweet! I caught Autie kissing the pictures of the little kids in her ABC book the other day.
Megan, we are back to two sleeps most days as long as she's up by 6am. She does ok without the other one but still not quite ready I don't think. I don't let her sleep past 3.30pm though, because I like her in bed by 7.30 at the latest.
Jan, I have to agree on the olympic tennis thing - don't they get enough coverage already? And I thought only amateurs could go in the Olympics? Somebody please get me up to speed! We have used a toothbrush since autie got her first teeth. I bought the Pigeon 3 pack of progressive ones and we are using number two atm. No toothpaste though. How is Liam and his temp?
Jess, congrats on your baby boy! Two little men to look after mum when they get big! Great to hear Ethan is healthy and well again. I had to wait until 36wks to find out if my placenta was too low but it turned out to be fine (then I had an EC anyway! LOL)
Dani, wow, what a big change for you all! Hope everything goes super smooth for you.
Mel, no more lurking! Is all well with you? How is Jack going with his glove?
We just had another major bed time chunder tonight  At least I had Dan home this time to clean Autie up while I changed the bed, and luckily, both her cuddlies (two elephants both called Johnson) were out of the line of fire. Not sure what it was all about but she was fine after.
We had swimming today which she is loving. She is now swimming under the lane ropes and jumping into me on her own. I have to say though, that I won't mind when she's old enough to do the lessons on her own - it's freezing standing there getting her changed while dripping wet.
I've found a hairdresser who'll come to the house so both of us are getting a cut next week. Autie's hair is long enough to twist and clip like a french roll type thing - ridiculously in the way for a 13m old! I'm a bit nervous as I've had the same hairdresser for 13 years but she's MIA and I'm devastated - she always rings me when she's moving to another salon but I've had no word - hope she's ok actually.
What Makes Me Giggle - the men's gymnastic floor routines - specifically the little pointed toe, arms in the air steps they take to get back to the corner and the quick back arching poses down on the floor as fillers - is it only me that finds them a little on the girly side?
I'm off! Have a loverly Friday!
-
Megan - you are very kind coming in to help me with my boredom ;). It's easy to change your username - go to the top of this page (or any page for that matter) and on the left hand side you will see "User Profile". Click on this, which takes you to your user profile (yes, really), then scroll down to the bottom of the page, and again on the left hand side there's an option called "Request Username". Put in the user name you're after, hit the go button, then wait until one of the mods gets back to you to say all ok - they send a PM when it's done. It took maybe 48 hours for it to come through for me. And that's all there is to it.
And you're right about the dr - all he said was to keep up the panadol, and to come back in 2 days if Liam is still getting high temps. Which I knew would be the answer, but it was good to eliminate ears/chest problems at this stage.
I guess one sleep a day takes a few days to really get used to, but it's good that you had one day where it worked, that gives you some hope for the future.

Hi everyone,
I've been reading but not posting. Have had a huge week and a half with Oliver teething. :wall: :wall::wall: Finally they have cut :dance::dance: He now has 8, and I've gotta say I am REALLY not looking forward to the next lot. I totally recommend the Hyland's Teething Relief tablets though - they are GREAT!!!! He is now back to his normal self.
Jas - I may have said it before but a huge Congrats to you!!
Jess - Congrats on another boy!! Hope you are feeling well. And good luck with the Placenta Praevia - I had it with Oliver but thankfully it moved up enough for me to give birth naturally.
Danni - Best of luck with the new business!! Must be very exciting for you and DH!
Hi there BhoysMum ;) - How is Liam? Hope he is getting better. Could it be teeth?
Megan - Oliver only has one sleep and maybe another in the car when I do the school run. He does get a bit grumpy in the late afternoon but still goes off to sleep around 8.
Sacha - you crack me up. Yes those men are a bit girly but so very strong at the same time! Good luck with Auties haircut and wow it sounds long! I think it will be quite a while before Oliver gets one.
Well we had some really bad news here this week. My nieces husband passed away on Tuesday. He was only 24. He suffered from Muscular Dystrophy and has been in a wheelchair for most of his life. It's so devestating. They have 2 beautiful kids, a daughter who is 3 and a son who is 15 months but my niece is also 20 weeks pregnant with their third. They got married in January. The funeral is Monday which is also the anniversary of my Dad's death so it's gonna be a hard for all the family. My family all live in NSW and the last time I went down was for the wedding, which was very emotional in itself as everyone knew what was coming in the future.
On a happier note though my good friend had a baby a couple of weeks ago! She actually is the one that introduced me to BB. She has suffered some devastating losses, one at 18 weeks and another at 35 plus a few miscarriages. She now has a beautiful baby boy though. I am so very happy for them. I haven't seen him yet as they live a few hours away but are actually coming to visit tomorrow. I can't wait!!
Which means, I should be off so I can get up early and clean the house!
Take care girls. xo

Hi all sorry I haven't posted in a while.
Olimoo - so sorry to hear about your nieces husband, that is SO sad. I hope she gets through this ok and you and your family also
I have been very busy with Olivia, outings and doing a bit of work from home which is on the computer doing data entry so I am SO over the computer by the end of it.
Olivia is great, I skimmed over a few posts (DH needs PC so I have to be quick - I told him to get me a bourbon then I will be quick lol). I am tossing around with her sleeps as well as she seems to want 1, so when I skip 1 sleep she cracks it and gets tired - go figure most days. I feel bad, I haven' t been using a toothbrush and she has 3 fully up and 3 1/2 way up so I should start tomrorow.
I love it when they kiss things hey? Livvie kisses everything in sight! All her books, pictures of the wiggles - I even told her to kiss the phone (was talking to DH) and she did!
Jas and Jess - congrats on the pregnancy guys! Hope all goes smoothly for you both!!
Q? - Do your bubbas feed themselves with spoons yet? I still tend to feed Olivia all meals (apart from finger stuff).
I hope everyone 1st birthdays went well!
Hope everyone is well.
Lis and liv xxxx

Yay! Lots of posts to catch up with and reply to - but I don't have time! We've been down this morning and had tax done (lovely refund! Shopping time?) and gotten hair cuts for my boys who were both starting to look on the male gymnast side. Now we are about to head off for 4 days on a family weekend to a beach house mum and dad have hired. Weather is absolutely crap but will be fun (and hectic) having whole family there! Catch up next week! Hope everyone is well. So sorry for not doing personals but have only skimmed the posts. Will do properly n/wk xx

Hey Everyone :hello:
How is everyone? I'm great - its a beautiful sunny 20 degree day today and the weekend is going to be an even better 23 degrees!! I might take the family out for a picnic :) I must say, I have the best toddler in the world!! She has been perfect since getting over her ear infection - is eating heapsm drinking all her milk, going down to sleep all by herself and no rocking needed from me and I have been told she has been great at her nanna's house too. But I know all too well that we will have about a week of pure bliss and then it will be turned upside down cause teeth are coming through!! So I am trying to make the most of these perfect days :D
Lis - Avaleigh doesnt feed herself yet, I am still spoon feeding whatever is needed but she is having heaps of finger foods that she holds herself. I need to buy some plastic baby plates and cultery and I might try and get her to start but I think that its better me doing it cause there is no mess after it all! Are you brushing Olivia's teeth?! Wow, I never even thought about brushing teeth!!
Sarah - thats great that your first playgroup went well. :)
Raels - sorry to hear about your nieces husband, not good at all :hugs: I hope she gets through it all OK
Sacha - hopefully you are going to have a little olympic swimmer there!!! I think when summer comes around I might start swimming lessons with Avaleigh - we should be right with money then too so would be a good thing to start. I wish Avaleigh's hair was long!! I want to clip it and tie it up but there is nothing really there - its mostly at the back of her head and really really thin, Mum said that her hair is exactly like mine was.
Dani - busy busy girl!!! I hope your move goes really well and that everything in the business goes well too, remember, they first 4-5 years are the hardest!! What sort of business did you guys buy?
Jess - congratulations on the boy!!! Now you can start thinking about names - how cool!!! I cant wait to go through that all again but then I can wait! ;)
Well thats as far as my post go back. Hello to everyone else and hope you are all well!!
There has been some talk about day sleeps so I thought I would put my two cents worth in... Avaleigh is only have 1 sleep a day with me (not sure what her nanna does but I think its just 1 sleep too). I've just been letting her go until she gets super tired which is around 11.30am and I give her a bottle and she will sleep for over an hour. Some days she doesnt have a sleep during the day and she is fine. She goes down for her night sleep at 7pm, which is great cause its gives mummy and daddy some time together at the end of the day.
So who here is brushing bub's teeth?? I never really thought about doing this until all the teeth are through but would make sense to start introducing it now - gotta go out and get a tooth brush I think!
Work is going good for me, some days are boring and other days are not. I want to try and get out of the office more so might talk to my boss about that in a couple of weeks time. I havent heard anything about the nightfill job at coles so not sure what is happening there. Would be good to do but then I am happy to not do it either, but the extra money would be handy.
Anyway, I better make some lunch and got some phone calls to make while Avaleigh is sleeping.
BYE BYE!
Oh I forgot something!!! My good GF's baby is due in September but unfortunately her girl is breeched and is not going to turn so she is booked in for a c-section on the 21st of August. She is pretty upset about it but with my reassurance I told her that it doesnt matter how she comes out cause she will be in your arms soon! Anyway, I just wanted to ask those that had a c-section what sort of tips/info can I give her to help along with the first few weeks?? I have absolutely no idea what the pain would be like and how much you can and cant do so would be good to get some info of you guys to bring to her on Tuesday. THANKS!!

OMG - I am having the worst day ever with Liam. Is it possible that a 13 month (or nearly) can hate his mum? Cos it sure feels like it today. We've still got temp issues, with the added bonus of a couple of vom's overnight, and he's completely rejected BM all day, which I'm finding very devastating. Combined with massive tantrums, and just fighting me over everything. THe only thing that has made him "happy" was a bit of vegie toast, followed by some stewed apple, so at least I know he's not starving. I'm feeling awful, cos by about 2.30 I'd just had enough, so he was put to bed in his cot & allowed to scream. Which he did, although he did go to sleep after about 5 minutes. I'm so not into cc, but today, I almost don't care, he's being so awful. And Pat's not going to be home until at least 7.30, cos of some mandatory work thing he has to go to in the city. I don't begrudge him this, cos he rarely goes out without me, but of all the days....
-
Oh Jan...i hope you're ok! You did make me laugh though, i hope that's not bad of me!! Lucas often hates me!!
We had our first case of blood tonight....it was horrible. Lucas slipped and hit his forehead on the corner of a handle on the coffee table. He has a really deep gash. We took him to doc and they have put a couple of steri strips on but may have to go back for stitches if he pulls them off. He was a trooper, DH and i were devastated! Its horrible to look at cos there is heaps of blood pooled in the steri strips. My poor little munchkin!!
-
 Jan. He could never hate his bestest mum! Maybe he is unwell and the doctor didn't pick it up? Or it wasn't fully progressed enough yet to? Could be teeth? That might make him stop BF if it hurt in some way. Apples are great for upset tummies, so if that's what he wants let him go for it I reckon. Autie likes cold, grated apple if that helps at all. (Probably nice on sore gums too I imagine) Actually, Autie was like that a couple of weeks ago, come to think of it - off food and tantrums all over the place. I started dosing her up with the Brauer's teething relief and panadol and she came good, though no teeth have made an appearance. Who knows with these kids?! Hope you both get relaxed again really soon
V, I have been brushing Autie's teeth since they came through, at bathtime. I don't use toothpaste - it's really bad for their tummies if they swallow. You can use a clean washer or finger too, to get them started and used to it if you want. As for the CS, I was super looking forward to a natural waterbirth but honestly, now I'm almost glad I didn't - you get to keep your girly bits intact! LOL Seriously, there is some pain for a few days and a little hard to move around, but it's bearable. One thing is clothing rubbing on your scar but that's something you'd just have to work out with your own wardrobe. And tell her not to believe the people that say you can't drive for 6 weeks or you won't be insured - it's not true, and she'll probably want to drive much sooner than that. I was BF within 20mins of her being born and it was all just as exciting as I thought a normal birth would be. Anyway, the objective is to have a healthy baby in your arms, how it gets out isn't really relevant in the end.
Lis, Autie has a go with a spoon in yoghurt or something else that generally sticks to the spoon. I only give her a little at a time to experiment with though, cos it is messy. :)
Sarah, yes tradespeople are hard to like sometimes! (no offense to anyone) Being late I can grudgingly understand, but not turning up at all is just rude. How clever Bayleigh is with his talking. All I get at the moment is 'sssstaaaar' (or versions of it) LOL
Raels, how sad for your niece :( She must be a brave person indeed. I hope she has a lot of support around her to lend a hand with a new bub on the way. And oh, I can't imagine how awful it must be to lose a baby at 35 weeks! Soooo close. I'm very happy she has had a healthy bub.
Autie has conjunctivitis today. The chemist said it's going around at the moment because it hasn't rained for ages. She's got some drops which we have to perform all sorts of tricks to get into her eyes.
Hello to everyone else, hope the sun is shining where you are :)
-
Oh does anyone know where I read this quote:
"To the world, you are one person. To one person, you are the world"
Is it on this site somewhere?
-
Jan - *hugs* to you. Doesnt sound like you have had a very good day but I dont think that Liam hates you. I hope you got some relief when Pat came home.
Megan - Oh no at the blood!! We've had a bit of blood here, but its been in Avaleigh's mouth cause she fell over a few times and her teeth cut her gums. I hope that Lucas's gash heals up nice and quick.
Sacha - Thanks for your info. My GF did say that she is happy that she gets to keep her girlie bits!! LOL I must tell her about the clothes, she may need to get some granny undies to go OVER the scar hey?? My GF doesnt need to worry about the driving thing cause she doesnt have her license! She is on her L's at the mo. Oh great about the BFing cause I know she wants to breastfeed but how long did it take for your milk to come through? Was it the average amount of days? I havent said anything to her about this but I remember when I was in hospital the lady in the bed next to me, her milk took a little while to come through so I thought it might have been cause she had a c-section?
Blergh, I feel sick! I was craving hedgehog slice last night so I make one today and it is WAY too sweet!! Atleast I wont be eating too much of it at once.
Well, better go and clean up the dishes.
-
Just a quick one from me...
Our house is on the internet!!!! AAARRRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!! Now it's all real! It looks great though, so fingers crossed we get a fair bit of interest!!
HUGE  to your gorgeous Mummies whose bubs are giving them a tough time! Will be back tomorrow for personals! Have a great night ladies *mwa*
-
Hi just a really quick post.
V, why r they saying her baby won't turn??? I would very much recommend she gets on the spinning babies site and check out a few things to try get her baby to turn also they can try to manually turn her baby. Definitely a few things to try before going for the c-section if that's not what she wants
-
Jas - they say that my GF does not have much fluid around the baby for her to turn. I think my friend is a size 8 or 10! I think she said something about the babies legs being stretched out and in the pelvis area where the head should be. They did mention to her that they could manually turn the baby but there is a high chance that her baby could get all bruised or she could rupture, so that didnt sound too good to her. I did get her on to the spinning babies website and she tried it for a little while but she was in too much pain so stopped doing it. Last I spoke to her she was ok with having the c-section cause the main thing is her baby is out and healthy.

Just popping on to let you all know that Liam is still alive, although I had started composing the ebay add - "new home needed for 13mo, slightly used, but still in good condition, all fingers & toes...".
Anyway, we ended up seeing another GP at 9.30 last night because he was just completely feral vile horrid child. The GP told us to go to A&E, mostly because of dehydration, which is what you get when you go from 5 Bf's a day to 0, and don't drink any water. They took a blood sample to check whether it was viral or a bacterial infection, fortunately it was viral , which i knew it would be, so we got home at about 2.30, although they would have admitted him happily. I just didn't want to stay, couldn't really see the point. When we got home I managed to trick him into a quick dream feed, although only on one side, but boy did it feel good. I have had to get out my breast pump again to get rid of the rest, the last thing I need is a dose of mastistis. Anyway, today he's happier, but still no BFing. We're giving him 5mls of gastrolyte every 5 minutes or so (ie when we remember), using a syringe, which he's been pretty happy to take, just so that he doesn't massively dehydrate again.
V - my tips about a c/s are that in the first couple of weeks keep up with the pain relief, because it's easier to keep things at bay than to try to settle them down if you get into bad pain. Also, make the most of the no-lifting anything heavier than your baby for 6 weeks rule. Even though I felt like I quite easily could do more, it's still major surgery, and in the big scheme of things 6 weeks goes quickly, so not that hard to give your body a chance to do good recovery. Plus it meant that I didn't have to hang out any washing for 6 weeks ;) I agree with Sasha & the 6-week driving rule - I didn't drive for the time, but I think it's as simple as getting a note from your dr to say you can. The only thing that I had difficulty with was the shaking as I was coming out of the epidural - I was in recovery for about an hour, without liam, then back in the room for possibly another half an hour before I felt like I could control the shaking enough to hold him safely. The crazy thing is that as soon as I touched him the shaking completely stopped, so i think my mummy hormones are stronger than the drug effects. I was also able to BF him as soon as I held him, so no problems there.
Sacha - I know the quote, but not sure where I've seen it either, or whether it's just something I've known for ages. It's a lovely thought though. Poor Autie with conjuctivitis, so far (touch wood) we've not had it, but my nephew has had it twice in 2 weeks. Hence we're not having lunch with them tomorrow.
Megan - oh no for the accident, have you had any luck keeping the steris on? Hopefully you have, I think that they're supposed to be great for minimising any scaring. Has it slowed Lucas down at all, or is he back to his normal self?
Lis - Liam is starting to feed himself with a spoon, although i help him by getting the food onto the spoon, then he does the rest. He's very proud of himself when he does this, and the bonus has sometimes been that he eats a bit more than if I were feeding him. The other night we accidentally left his dinner remains where he could get to them, & turned around to see him sitting on the floor with the bowl & spoon eating a bit more - v cute. But I still do a fair bit of the spoon control, mostly so that I can get at least some of his meal into his stomach.
That's all I can remember at the moment. Both my boys are asleep, I might have to go & join them.
-
V, it's a bit hard to know actually, when my milk came in, because Autie got sick day 3 and wasn't feeding so I was pumping and stressed and not really getting a great deal. As far as I remember, it did change colour though that day so it probably did come in as normal. It's the baby sucking I think that makes the most difference. Granny knickers could be a good idea though I used panty liners half in and half out of my normal undies because they sat right on the scar.
Jan, oh I remember those shakes! I was shaking the whole time they were getting her out and when they wrapped her and put her on my chest (while still on the table) I could only have a quick hold before telling Dan to take her. I was ok enough to feed in recovery though so I guess I was lucky. How is poor Liam doing? It's good you got to the cause of it all anyway. Is he drinking more at all?
Yeah, V - warn your girlfriend about those shakes so she doesn't freak out.
Oh Megan, I missed your post about poor Lucas! How is he doing? Do you think it is a sign of things to come? Boys being boys and all that...LOL Must've given you both quite a fright.
Off to have my dinner. :)
-
Oh my god i had forgotten about the shakes, i found that really scary....hated it!!
Lucas is fine thanks for asking everyone! He is still full of beans and has not touched his wound so i think we should be safe without stitches thank god!!
-
V - as far as I know there's no difference for milk coming in if you have a c/s. mine was in (with a vengeance) on day 4. The other thing that was weird for me was that my scar was stapled, rather than stitched. If she gets stapled, tell her that it doesn't hurt when they come out, it's a bit of a weird feeling, but not uncomfortable. And they use a staple remover!!
Sacha - Liam's fine, thank you for asking, he's had heaps of water today, which is a first, but still no BM. Just won't have a bar of it, chucks a back arching tantie if I even suggest it. So I'm expressing & putting it into a bottle, but isn't interested in that either. I spoke to an ABA counsellor about it, plus a BB post, and they all reckon he'll come back to it more likely, but atm I am a blubbering mess at each feed time cos I'm really missing it, even though it's only been a couple of days. Pathetic really, and I'll probably feel really silly if it does resolve, but I'm blaming it all on hormones and excessive tiredness, cos I've only had a couple of hours sleep last night. If he is stopping, at least AF will return & I can then lobby for number 2, so there is a silver lining.
Megan - that's good that Lucas is doing okay. It's a bit of a worry with these boys, they can be so gung ho at things. Liam's started climbing out of his high chair if we don't strap him in - little monster, I can't turn my back on him for a second.
-
Jan, does that mean AF still hasn't returned? If not, maybe it's just about to and your BM tastes a lot different at the moment to Liam, and that's why he's fussing. Just another thought, you have probaby had already, sorry.
Sorry to pop in and out like this ladies, but I promise I'll come in and catch up soon. I'm already reading, so not missing out on everything.
-
i really need to start posting everyday...
Raels- Wow at all Olivers teeth.. Bayleigh has JUST cut his 4th hehe. With the teething tablets How do they work? Bayleigh doesnt like bonjela or any of the gels so i mite try the tablets.

Sacha- Is the colgates Babys first tooth paste bad for our bubies also? If it is i will stop using it .. I only use a tiny tiny amount as Bayleigh doesnt like the taste if it...
Regarding Bayleighs talking.. He has a great teacher in his sister who talks ALL the TIME she even talks in her sleep LOL even while she is sitting on the loo..she sat on the loo one day for about an hour and i asked her if she was ok and and her replie was year im just talking to myself so iasked her if she was doing a wee or poo and she goes only a wee and i finished long time ago LOL i couldnt believe it LOL IHOPE he doesnt talk as much as she does coz i dont think i would be sane for much longer with both of them talking ALL THE TIME lol

He also did his first wee's on the potty the other night... he is very cute if you forget tto close the bathroom door he will get in there and take the lid of the potty and sit on it and scream out for you and wen you walk in there he points to the potty and laughs LOL he is such a clown... its amazing the lil things they do can crack you up and have you on the floor in stitches...
I started selling thinsg on ebay over the weekend YAY i have gone thro all of bayleighs baby clothes to see wat i could sell and out of 8 stripped bags i found 3 items LOL i just cant bring myself to sell any of his outfits LOL
I also have another childs birthday party to organise for this sunday.. DStepS ryan turns 4 on saturday so we are goin out for tea sat night with a couple of friends who cant cum on sunday and then we are doing a BBQ lunch on sunday He has asked me to make a cake so last weekend when he was here for his "sleepover" he and i sat down and googled Birthday cakes first of fhe wanted me to make him a racing car track den he wanted a BIG digger cake but then he found a cake made as a construction site so he has his mind set on that cake so i went out last week to find all the trucks and bulldoxers and things dat i need to make it now i just have to make it LOL
I keep forgetting to ask.. How many teeth does all the bubies have now? (really cant call them bubies anymore can we ??????? LOL)
Also Bayleigh has been CLIMBING everything now for a few months since before he was walking Do any other TODDLERS climb things? Bayleigh started with the TV cabinet and nwo he will climb anything i cought him climbing the dvd shelves a few weeks ago and this morning he pushed the kids lil pinic table over to the bench and stood up on it.. Im freaking out hes gunna climb something one day and fall and really hurt himself....
Also is anyone thinking about putting bubs in to a BIG bed anytime soon... As we are moving in a few weeks i was thinking i wont set the cot up again and just put Bayleigh straight into his bunk... DD was about 14 mths old wen i put her into a big bed and i had now dramas with her so im hoping i wont have dramas with bayleigh LOL
well better go and find more things to pack and take a few boxes around to the new house...
Hope all of you had a fantastic weekend with your wanderful famlies

Just popping in quickly, cos I'm knackered...
Raels - huge , today will have been very tough & sad for you. My thoughts are with you.
Sarah - Liam has 6 teeth - 4 on the top (which are crooked!) and so far only 2 on the bottom. He's been chewing his hands like crazy over the last couple of weeks, but I think that this is just a thing, cos I can't see any sign that there's any more to come out just yet.
Mel - new name! No AF for me yet, which means no AF since I guess around September 2006!! I think I've actually forgotten what she feels like, although I assume at some stage she'll return. How's Jack going with his glove??
Well, after 2 1/2 days of mental-ness, Liam FINALLY decided to resume BFing on Sunday, which can I tell you was the happiest moment I've had for ages. He had his morning sleep on Sunday, but woke up after about 40 minutes, so I picked him up but he was still fussing & quite cranky. So I just sat quietly on the couch with him and sang songs to him, and he went back to sleep for another 1/2 hour or so. When he woke up, it was like a different child had taken over, he was happy for the first time in days. So I offered him some milk, and after a couple of pathetic attempts to latch on, he finally went - oh okay - and we were away... The really nice thing is that I've had a brilliant day with him today, he's been so happy & chirpy, just super cute all day. I love him all the time, but today I've extra loved him IYKWIM.
And I've made the booking for next Wednesday to get his car seat changed into forward facing position - I'm very excited about this, because it means that I'll finally be able to move the passenger seat in my car back into a position that doesn't have my knees around my ears when I sit in it - very excited about this. And quite excited that it will be a new thing for Liam, I think that it might mean that he's happier to be strapped in, cos he'll be able to see where he's going, rather than just where he's been.
Apologies for talking about me me me so much, it's just been helpful to be able to write about the last few days to you guys. I will be back to do better personals hopefully tomorrow.
Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Hi everyone!
Just quickly popping in again...
Jan- That's great to hear that Liam is a much happier boy and is back to bfing again. Must be such a relief! No need to apologise hun.. that's what we're here for.. to listen and get us through the tough (and happy) times!!
OMG! I am hooked on Ebay tonight  A celebrity is selling some stuff on there and she has the cutest bag and I just lost it... d@mn it! I hate it when you get outbid at the last minute and it was by $1!! Argh! I was in love with it! Ah well.. I guess I saved some $$
Anyway.. just a quick update on me. DH and I have decided to start TTC this month :hooray: I am very excited but it's doing my head in a bit with timing, CM, temps etc and trying to get my head around it all is just not happening! Anyway.. I'll get there but I know I will be very impatient and will want it to happen first go. I know I will be very disappointed when I get a BFN. However, positive thinking is the key so fingers crossed I get a BFP straight up ;)
Well ladies I am off to bed! Bye bye xx
-
Great news Jan, on the BF. So glad to hear Liam is a happy boy again - makes a big difference doesn't it? Autie is much happier in her forward facing seat and we have it in the middle so she is always pointing to things through the windscreen, she seems to like the traffic lights and trucks the best. Bet Liam will love it also.
Dani, how exciting to be TTC! All these new babies and pregnant women around me atm makes me really wish we were trying too, though I would like to be in better shape before the next one so it's all for the best. :goodluck2:
Sarah, what a clever boy using the potty! They can be very funny at times huh? If we ask autie where the funny china girl is, she throws her head back and squints her eyes with a big, gappy tooth grin. Maybe not very politically correct, but very amusing. Her eyes are all cleared up thanks. She has two teeth up top and four at the bottom. She is trying real hard to climb things but is a bit too short. Today she made it up onto the chair in her room though and was very proud of herself so I'll have to watch it. The two main problems with toothpaste are the flouride and sodium lauryl sulphates (used to make it foam and the same ingredient which is in engine degreaser so you can imagine how bad it is for tummies) Unfortunately, it is in almost all soaps, shampoos etc also, but with toothpaste there is more chance of swallowing. Not sure about baby toothpaste, but you could check the ingredients. A natural one would probably be safer.
I don't think we will swap to a big bed any time too soon, but I am looking forward to it! Good luck with your cake making, sounds like you will be busy.
Oh no, gotta go
-
HI all,
I said I would be back.
I'm now on holidays. and the boy is at creche. I have lots of cleaning and little odd jobs to do around the house.
We are going to get our building quote soon, so fingers crossed it's the right price so we can sign on the dotted line and get things moving!!
Megan, how cute with the walking. don't envy you having to get all those little bits of wood chip out of his pants. I'm not sick of hearing about other peoples sleep dilemas, lets me know i'm not alone. OUch on the head gash, I hope everything heals well.
Em, I can gurantee you I'm real. No one could make up such a boring life. lol
Yep I am enjoying work, it's part of my life now, the scary bit is more having to be home. The day will come when we want another bub and well won't be able to afford for xavier to be in creche, that scares me a bit i'd have to do everything my self, how exhauting ;p
We do try to eat at the same time as Xavier now, as he would want to eat what we were eating, and he seems much more content to feed himself if eveyone is eating.
Sacha, sorry to hear about the bed time chucking. Xavier did one of those after a swimmin lesson one day, he drank too much water  But what a clever little swimmer you have there. Xavier got a gold medal at swimming on the weekend (everyone did) he likes it but we have missed so many due to illness that he's a little behind.
Raels, Sorry to hear of the loss your family has suffered. It sounds like your friend prayers have been answered. How fantastic for them.
Jan, We got xavier a toothbrush a couple of months ago, just to give him the idea. he watches us brush, so he's worked out the basic concept. I agree with what you sid about weaning onto a cup instead of a bottle, but I'm starting to lean towards the bottle. The difference with us is that Xavier has been having ebm in a bottle since he was 5 months old and he won't take wam milk in a cup only cold banana milk:) Sorry to hear your little man has been sick. Those were massive temps. I hope your little one is alright, be we have often had times where I think Xavier doesn't like me, like at 5.30 this morning, surley if he liked me he would have let me sleep.
Jess, I will pray to the placenta gods for you that it moves before bubs is ready to arrive. I'm really glad everything is ok, another little man, your going to be surrounded by boys at your house. We have daily tantrums too, everytime Xavier doesn't get his own way. does this squinty eyes and a big frown. Oo are we in for it.
Danielle, wow you are going to be busy. taking on a whole new life. I can see it now, you will be as busy as can be running a business, looking after a toddler and preganant. Why do we do these things to ourselves.
Lis, Xavier sometimes feeds himself, and sometimes not, really depends on his mood, and the food that' infront of him.
V, I can't wait to do the whole baby thing PG and baby planning thing again either, I enjoyed the first time around sooo much, but I have to keep reminding myself that it will be so different this time, because I will have a todler to look after too, and won't be able to sleep anytime I want.
Update on us.
We have been trying this weaning bit out as well. It's really hard when he goes to creche to cut out the feed I want to cut out most. OUr MCHN appt confirmed I have a little light weight. at 9.2kg's 75.8 cm tall, which puts him in the 10th percentile for weight and the 50th for hight. He only gained about 1kg in 4 months, I wish I could say the same for me.
All this chatter about babies so makes me want to go back again now!! but I must wait, need a house to put them in, and to pay enough off the house now,so I can have some time off again. But to keep my dream alive I went to the doc, so I could get my rubella levels checked, to see if I needed any boosters etc. I now have 2 bruises on my arms because the pathology nurse was a little rough and innacurate. AF is still yet to arrive, but I have had these niggling feelings, oh well, I guess i'm kinda hoping I can conceive another bubba by mid next year, so I'm willing to make the sacrifice of everything getting back on track.
My current plan is house, asap. Hope to move into house in early new year. start all the ttc, temping, charting, folate etc, wait a couple of months and get to it  I rekon I'd like to pg again by this time next year, lets hope it's achievable. giving us a 2-3 year gap between bubs and doing it all before i'm 30 eek.
Well I've prattled enough about my plans, I have to stop, i'm getting myself weay too excited at the prospect (especially given it could be 12 months away. (earlier if finances allow)
Well I hope everyone is well.
Bye

LOL i was about to post and realised I didn't recognise anyone and I was in July 08!!!
Thanks for all the tips re: food feeding. Olivia is a strange girl, I went to give her the spoon today to see what she did with her yoghurt and she cracked like she wasn't going to get any food or something so I just feed it to her!!!
sarah - LOL at the clothes, I put all of Olivia's in the roof incase we have another girl, I dread going through them...I am about to put garbage bag No.6 up there!!! Olivia isn't climbing yet cause she is not walking, but I am always scared if she tries to climb her cot!!! Good luck with the bed, I don't think its too early, my friends son was 14 months as well.
Jan - great to hear that Liam is a happy boy, well done!
Dani - How exciting with TTC again! Good Luck!!
All these new pregancies make me want another too but I am keen to stick to our 12 months plan as we want to buy another house and move before the next baby. So many of my friends are due this year and some next year so there are SO many babies around.
Well I am a little concerned about Olivia and her walking. She isn't close. She walks around the furniture and is very confident but I try and take my fingers out of her grasp to get her to stand by herself and she cracks it and flops to her bum. She has this V-tech walker that she pushes around the house walking, sometimes runnign so confidently. Tonight she even took both hands off it and was staning find but I don't think she realised she did it. I have noticed that her right foot goes out to the side a bit when she walks, should i be worried about this?
Well must go, she wants to go to bed....whoo peace for me as DH isn't home to occupy her!
Hope to be back later but I am making my friend a birthday present - a scrapbook clock.
xxxx
-
Lis, don't be too worried, as you know they are all different. Charlize didn't walk until she was nearly 14 months old, and I know of babies that are older, and are just fine now. I know it's hard not to worry, but try not to. Soon you will be thinking, what happened to the days when she would only crawl, lol!!
-
Lis- I agree with Mel all babies are different and do things in there own times... A G/F lil girl who is 4 weeks older then Bayleigh isnt even walking along the furniture yet she only started crawling about 2 months ago and she is just starting to pull herself up on things to a stand position.. Olivia will do it in her own time. Regarding her foot, Have you been for your 12mth MCHN check up yet? if not speak to her about it when you do go if it really is concerning you.. Bayleigh used to walk on his toes when he was first walking along things but he stopped when he started walking properly... Maybe if you repostion her foot while she is walking around see if she keeps it in that position... HTH
Sacha- ROFL at Auties Funny china girl i bet its very cute.... I have the baby tothpaste in fron tof me now and its says Low fluoride Low foam, sugar free and teh active ingrediant is Sodium Monofluorophosphate.. Would dat be the same as sodium lauryl sulphates ? It doesnt actually have any other ingrediants listed on the tube... I think i mite go and see if i can get a natural one anyway just to be on the safe side.... Thanks heaps for the info anyway
Rebecca- Glad to see you back posting again... How long are you on Holidays? do you have anything special planned while your off work? apart from the usual housework and all that boring stuff LOL
Well done Xavier on the medal in swimming... i really wanna get B Boy into swimming but the places are very few here and the waiting list are very long...
Well im off to bed i went to S.A today with a friend to go to BIG W seenthey have all those babie clothes on special oh and nappies LOL and tomorrow i have Paed Appt for chloe to discuss the whole ADHD symptoms and where to go to from here....
Have a lovely night girls
Sarah
-
Thanks girls. I have tried to position her foot tonight but she was pushing her walker to fast LOL! I only just started to notice is in the last few weeks so I might make an appt with the MHN.
Might ask her some theories for Olivia to drink milk also :) I was thinking of buying the S26 already made milk (have you seen them?) but I am not sure seeing as though Olivia was on Karicare Gold if it will act funny. She has calcium in everything else though!
Night sarah! I need to go to bed too but DH is still not home and I love the gymnastics!!! Big W sales was great, I got lots of stuff for Olivia for summer :)
-
Dani - woo hoo for TTC. I get so excited just thinking about the next batch of babies for us girls. Fingers crossed it happens really quickly for you.
Bec - I think we're leading spooky parallel lives - we have get a bigger house too (although we'll just buy, not build), I have a BM-addicted boy who is proving challenging to wean, Liam isn't the best sleepers in the world, and AF ain't back. I laughed in sympathy with you having a boy who doesn't like you enough to let you sleep.
Lis - Liam also doesn't look like he's close to walking. Like Olivia, he can cruise around no problems, or push his little trolley things around (until he has to turn a corner, then he yells to get some assistance), but he doesn't stand on his own, just falls onto his bottom, or grabs onto the nearest thing he can. As far as I know, it's only a concern (or starts to be) if they get past 18 months & haven't started, so plenty of time to go. Pardon my ignorance, but what is a scrapbook clock???
Sacha - I know it's not technically PC, but PMSL at your little china girl, that is sooo cute. Liam's just started doing a fake smile at us over the last couple of days, it's his new thing, he scrunches up his nose & eyes and flashes a big cheesy grin. No idea where it's come from, but it cracks me up. He was doing it to a girl in a shop yesterday too, cheeky little monkey.
Sarah - how's the packing going? Bayleigh sounds like such a cute little livewire. Sometimes I wish that everyone in our baby-buddy group lived close by & we could all catch up properly sometime, just to see all the kids & the funny little people that they are.
Well, I want to go to be early (like now), but I also want to watch the aussie girl in the 100m hurdles final, which knowing channel 7 won't be on for ages... Think I'll give it until about 10.30, then give up & watch the replays tomorrow. Can't wait until the Olympics are over, I just want to watch too much on telly cos I'm scared I'll miss something exciting, and I'm getting nothing done.

Hi,
Just a quick post, I really need to get back in and do a decent post for once! But we have to get ready and off to mothers group!
Mel, Did you get my pm? Cause I sent you one but I just had a look and saw it wasn't in my list of sent so I might have to retype it?
I wouldn't worry Noah isn't walking either and he's not really even standing by himself and he did everything else early etc so oh well he'll take his time I guess. We haven't been to mothers group for a while, Noah was always one of the 1st to do everything but most of them are walking now so hopefully a few ladies will make it! I'm thinking him seeing all these other babies walking might encourage him?!
-
Hey Jas, nah didn't get it. How are you feeling? Hope no sickness.
-
Hi girls,
Just a quick one from me to say thanks for all your kind words.
No walking here yet and toothbrushes, have been using one since the first couple of teeth appeared.
Hopefully be back later for a better and bigger post!!
-
LOl a scrapbook clock is a wooden clock that you cover in paper, stick pictures on, flowers etc. The brand is called Kaiser craft, its really good!
Olivia has just started to turn the corner with her pusher, she really moves it around wel its funny to watch. Mum doesn't seem to think there is anything to worry about her foot so will just keep an eye on it. LOL I can hear olivia downstairs screaming excitingly at the cats (am at Mum and dads) she loves cats!
I hope she will be walking by 18 months - that summer and lots of birthday parties for her to run around at. Mum thinks maybe 15 months.
Must run and get ready for home time.
BBL Lis xxx

Hi everyone :)
Just another quick post from me just wanted to pop on and say hi to you all and see how your all doing. Hope everyone is well.
Im sooo exhausted lately, i think being a pregnant mum to a one year old is taking its toll!! How did you do it mel! I just dont have the energy for more than a quick read lately. I will TRY to pop in and post again tomorrow.
Im going to bed. Goodnight All.
-
I am going to do the same as Jess and just say hi. Too buggered to do anything else! We have had a bad couple of days with Tom - I think he has been taken over by evil spirits :(. Have absolutely no idea what is wrong - may be teeth by can't look in his mouth because I swear he has a steel jaw. May be feeling sick, but really not sure, so have given him panadol and teething tablets to be on the safe side. He has been asleep for 2 and a half hours, so hopefully will be normal when he wakes up! I had a girlfriend around yesterday who i haven't seen in a while and everytime we talk, i tell her what a happy lovely baby he is. Yesterday she sat there and watched in horror as he threw tantrums, cried and was generally psycho. She really doesn't like kids very much, so I think this turned her off even more!
Better go - my banana bread is ready. Will try to come back soon and post on a more cheerful note!
-
Oh Em sorry to hear about little Tom not being a happy baby. It could be teeth, Olivia is a mean little girl when she is teething. I hope he feels better soon!
What is your recipe for the banana bread? It sounds yummo!
Does anyone take the bubs to Paul Saddler Swim Land? Last week all the kids got a gold medal and Olivia just loves it! It hangs around her cupboard door knob and she keeps pointing at it till I get it and put it around her neck....then she wears it all day!!
-
Oh my god Em we have twin babies! Lucas has been a bit psycho the last couple of days too and exactly the same thing happened....i had a friend over for lunch yesterday too and he was nuts! Was just walking around crying for no reason! I was so sad she couldnt see him happy!! I am the same not sure if its teeth as he does have a bottom molar coming or his cold but he's done my head in a bit the last two days!!
Lis what and where is Paul Saddler Swim Land??
Sorry very quick tonight i will catch up tomorrow as i have a headache from my moody kid!!
-
Lis, that is so cute about the medal! Sounds like Olivia is speedy with her walker, I'm sure she'll be walking before you know it.
 Em. I have one of those too lately. I give up trying to work out what it is. Is it too late for a refund? LOL
Hi Jess, sending you some energy vibes. I don't have many myself, but I think you definitely need them more!
Hi Raels, hi Mel. Hope all is good with you.
Jas, I think Autie was encouraged to walk by watching her cousin (20m) In fact, the first time she took off on her own it was to walk to Evie who actually did quite a good job of catching her, surprisingly.
Jan, it would be nice if we could all get together wouldn't it? Put some faces to the names
Sarah, how did Chloe's appointment go? Not sure about the toothpaste ingredients, but the internet knows everything so maybe a google would help.
Rebecca, how are your holidays going? You must really be enjoying having some time to yourself a little. I'm glad you mentioned the rubella shots. My levels were low with autie so I'd better do something about that before I try for No.2 also.
We got autie a clamshell sandpit today and she was most impressed. She spent ages experimenting with ways to bring a formula scoop and sand together  And she is sooo happy now she can wander around the yard watching Dan work and finding sticks to carry around. I will be happier when we have new turf down though, and get rid of the green ants. I'm forever saying 'stand up' when she sits to examine something 'cos I'm paranoid she'll get bitten as I have been several times. Those little buggers pack a punch!
I'm off to a check up appointment tomorrow. Has anyone else started having dark thoughts about your health since becoming a mum? I find myself thinking 'what if something happened to me?' Maybe I've just got a case of the morbids LOL
Anyhow, Hi to everyone else and have a warm fuzzy friday.
-
And how come we're up to page 12?
