grrrr men! :wall:. This is a little petty maybe, or maybe not. Called DF at 4 to say I'm leaving work, and thought we'd agreed that he would call me when he was in his car on his way to pick up Liam, otherwise I would continue on to do the collect. Instead he calls at about 4.50, to say he's definitely leaving at 5, so will pick him up. I agree thinking that it's pretty much of a muchness timewise if he's definitely leaving at 5, so I come straight home. Get home, only to get another call from DF to say he hasn't left yet, but he will be leaving shortly. WHich is extra time for Liam in day care, and less time for me with Liam. I know, petty, and only a matter of 1/2 an hour, but DF seems to be making such a big deal about getting to pick him up, when I think that the rule should be whoever can get there the earliest.
At least I've been able to get L's dinner ready for him in peace, so that's one good thing.
Sorry for the whinge.
-
...crickets chirping....
Hope everyone's ok and it's just that we all have a case of the 'can't be bothereds' right now. I thought I might get off my butt and try to get started.
Jan, I have to agree with you on the picking up thing. Is it all working better for you all now? Are you enjoying being a little bit free now and then? Sometimes I think about it, but as we will be trying for No. 2 in the next few months, it wouldn't be worth getting work now.
Nicky, you are doing well to have a least one person sorted for Christmas already! I am planning a get-everything-in-one-go day when Dan gets back so that I don't have to drag Autie around. She is pretty good in the stroller but I understand her frustration after a while - it must get a bit boring and uncomfortable just sitting for ages, especiallyif you include the car trip. Sorry to hear you have bad MS - hope it goes away soon - go the crystallized ginger!
Mel, sounds like you have a good little talker there! We don't have many words still, and the ones we have are not always clear - mummy usually has to translate, even for dad! LOL She did do her first 'hello' this morning to Dan on the phone which was super cute and made him feel special, so that was nice. I can't imagine Autie in a big bed yet - how is Jack going?
I've upped our weekly outing routine recently to keep up with Autie's growing need for stimulation of the 'anything but more mummy' kind. LOL We've added a playgroup, music group and toddler sports hour to swimming so now we have something on at least four mornings a week. We're down to one sleep almost permanently which makes things easier to organise too.
We have our new colorbond fence ordered and when it's up, we'll have twice the yard space as the current fence is not on the boundary for some reason. Can't wait to rip up the bindy covered lawn and lay a nice new one for autie to play on, put in a sandpit, cubby house etc. We have a vegie garden started already and she loves getting into the dirt and helping to water and pull weeds. Also, she like to stand there and point a stick at the plants and tell them off - strange but amusing. Wish I knew what she was saying...
I'd better go get myself organised I guess. Hi to all and hope everyone feels like having a chat a bit more soon.
-
Sacha I can just imagine Autie, telling the plants off, very cute.
Jack is doing well in his bed. He looks so cute.
Well got some interesting news yesterday, we are off to japan next monday. DH is going for 6 weeks, us just maybe 1-2. Not the best set up for kids there. Will be in a small hotel room with 2 double beds. And it's in the middle of winter, so I'll have to get the kids some good jackets, beanie and mittins. So will be busy over the next week getting everything organised.
But hopefully will be able to chat once we are over there.
Take care all
-
Wow Mel, what an opportunity! It's been my experience that Japanese just love kids so I think yours will get lots of attention. I imagine it will be tricky here and there but I'm sure you'll have an awesome time overall. I'm jealous!
-
Sacha - wow for all Autie's activities, you are such a good mum. I manage music sessions once a week, and still go to Mother's group every fortnight, but you are seriously organised! And her gardening sounds really cute - Liam's gardening consists of throwing the tanbark mulch around onto the paths, not the garden bed.
Mel - as my nephew would say, "wow cool" for the trip to Japan. I guess it's a fair bit or organising work for you to get things ready so quickly, but still a great experience. And nice to be away with your DH for at least part of the time that he's over there.
Nicky - I'm stalking your ticker to watch it click over to the magical 12 weeks!
Liam's got a new trick - we sing "row row row your boat etc, etc.. if you hear a crocodile don't forget to scream" - and on the weekend, he copied the "screaming". Now we just have to say crocodile & he goes "aaaarrrgh". I love having a trained monkey kid, so much fun inventing things for him to do. Poor little munch has been a bit crook with a temperature for the last 24 hours, I've been dosing him with Nurofen & Panadol, and hoping that it will be a better night tonight. And that's about as exciting as it gets around here.
-
Hi there!
Jan - yay on the trained monkey kids! Lachie will run around saying 'tickle tickle' when he wants to be tickled.... he's a cracker. We sing a few songs as well and he's starting to try and mimic the sounds and actions. My child is also a bit of a monkey as he climbs to the very top of the couch and tries to jump off! I am now the gatekeeper and trying not to lethim near the couch, but then the coffee table becomes his target.
Mel - Wow Japan! How fantastic! I hope you have an unreal time!
Sacha - I still have so much more shopping to do! I think hubby and I are going to head into town one weekend, sans toddler and get as much done as possible. And sooner rather than later, because I can't imagine doing it if my belly gets much bigger.
All's going well. m/s will leave for a couple of days and then hit me like a truck. Hubby took Lachie to work with him today (Hubby works with his dad and his mum has today off so she can look after him), so that I could have a bit of a sleep in as I am not sleeping well. But other than that, I am feeling really good. Haven't had any more scares, and I look as pregnant as I possibly could for approx 12 weeks. The belly was huge with Lachie, I don't know how I will go this time, because it's at least 8 weeks ahead size wise. It will be interesting when I'm 30 weeks preggers and I have to run around after the little man...
Hope you are all well! Give all those little cuties a huge hug for me!
xxoo
-
LOL at your monkey Jan! We do the row your boat thing too, but Autie prefers to watch us do the screaming. She does copy a lot of the Hi-5 moves she sees - there's a cute one with hands over your heart and another of a stamping dinosaur. Have you seen the Upsy Daisy dance from In the Night Garden? She does that one too if you sing the song. All very funny. Autie is a bit under the weather too, with a runny nose and slight temp. I'm just hearing her cough a bit now so fingers crossed it hasn't gone to her chest. Is Liam feeling better?
Nicky, I have a climber too now  Coffee table, chairs, bedside tables, the back of the couch - you name it, she climbs it. And she KNOWS she's not allowed to as well. I get this very cheeky 'well here I am and what are you going to do about it?' look. Grrrrr... How nice that you got a little rest time, sound like you're going to need it a lot in the coming months if you are already big...there's not two in there is there?
Has anybody seen gumboots in really small sizes? Like 3 or 4? Can't find any anywhere and I really want some for Autie to tour the yard in. I got her some of those ultra ugly shockers but they gave her a huge blister.
That's all from me for now
-
WOW its been ages since i have posted! I do follow all of your antics all of the time but have been really busy! I have been working the last couple of weeks, just doing the VCE Year 12 exam supervision.....extremely boring but good money for nothing! Lucas has been very accommodating given he's seems to be looked after by someone different everyday!! I am suprised he has been so good! Hmmm what else.....his favourite word at the moment is "peas" the corn gets called "peas" too! He even picks up one in each hand and says "two peas!" very cute. Still living with the parents which has been pretty handy overy the past few weeks...especially Friday night when i crashed Daniels work car into a light pole at a shopping centre!! Never been so embarrassed and have no idea how i did it! Just looked like a blonde bimbo in a ute that has no idea how to drive! I think i had a brain freeze or something! Well just thought I'd pop in but now i have to wake Lucas up before i go to the next exam....dont you hate that!!
Hope you are all great...Mel have fun in Japan...that's ace!!
-
Hi Sacha...Lucas has little gumboots from Target, i think they are size 4! They are very cute and are sort of cut off at the ankle so not as long as normal gumboots! He wears them all the time and even says "boots!"
-
Hello hello hello! It's Em by the way - I changed my user name - got bored and feeling negelcted in the cricket season! I have been doing some lurking, and have been too lazy to post . We have also had some overseas family join Facebook and they feel it is neccessary to send long boring emails almost everyday, so by the time I catch up with that, computer time is over. It is also impossible to post with Tom around - the mouse is a 'car', the keyboard is to be hit as hard as possible and press as many button as once.
Hello Megan! How cute is Lucas with his 'two peas' - I am just as impressed that he will pick up peas because I am the mother of a fussy baby who will only eat vegies if they are mashed. I am over stressing about it though, as long as he is eating them I guess. Was the car accident bad? Was Daniel angry?
Hello Sacha! I think i have seen little gumboots in Target too. I got Tom some of those croc/shocker things too - I hate them especially when you see grown men wearing fluro green ones - and he also got a blister. We are kind of in between shoe sizes at the moment - I have lots of 5's ready to go, I just need his feet to grow some more! I love Autie's little dancing stories, and she will be loving all her activities. I would love to do a music session for Tom as he loves music.
Hello Mel! I can't believe you are going to Japan. They will love your gorgeous little blonde kiddies! It will probably be full-on but an amazing experience.
Hello Nicky! Mrs Nicky ;). I have to start by saying your wedding shots on Facebook are GORGEOUS! I love your dress. You looked beautiful. Poor you having ms. I had it soooo bad and I think it is the main reason why I cannot even think about getting pregnant again any time soon. It must be super hard with Lach as well. Good on Mr Nicky for giving you some rest today. Very good idea about the chrissy shopping - going baby free. I have done most of Tom's and haven't even considered anyone else yet.
Hello Jan! Hope your poor little sick boy is ok. Is it quite possibly from starting daycare? I have heard that they catch every thing going around for a little while, but then have great immune system after that! How is he enjoying daycare? And you - work? I had to shake my head and agree with your 'grrr men' rant the other day - it sounds exactly like something my DH would do. At least you could get tea done in peace without Liam hanging off your leg - or is it only Tom that does that??
Hello Sarah - hope you had an awesome time at Chris Brown/Rhianna concert. I am jealous. I will have to have a look at your pics on fb.
Well........ trying to think of what we have been up to lately. It feels like the days are flying by at full speed. Tom has just gotten over being sick - he had ear infections in both ears, and a viral infection which meant he was covered in a rash. My heart nearly stopped when I saw the rash - thought the worst and took him straight to the doctors - luckily he seems to be on the mend and is getting back to his happy smiling self. He was so misrable.
He is becoming so independant now he is walking/running. Wants to do everything himself and walk everywhere but not hold my hand - I never thought I would say it but I think I might have to get him one of those harnesses - I only ever thought 'mean' mummies had them but it is seeming like a good idea now!
The pile of Christmas presents is growing - I will hate myself on xmas day when I have to find places for it all, although DH just made me a storage system for all of his toys which I am loving - Tom also hasn't realised that the toys are in them yet so we have had a toy-free few days and he has amused himself so well and read lots of books and done lots of drawing, which has been lovely. By the time he figures out where his toys are, they will be a bit of a novelty again for him hopefully!
All is well with me - still loving my day at work and have been doing a few extra day here and there, which is fun. My little sister (she hates me calling her little as she is 20) came to stay for a few days and it was lovely. It was also nice to have an extra pair of hands around too! Well that is enough of my rambling - hope everyone is well!
-
Cute name change Em. It's kind of fun to have a new 'identity". And I hear you on the harness - I NEVER thought I'd be a mum that would use one of them but I also have a kid who won't hold my hand & just wants to run as fast & as far as he can. Especially if the front gates are open.. beelines straight for the road, quick as a flash. Poor little Tom getting infections in both ears.
Nicky - that's so cute that Lachie asks to be tickled. And yeah, how's the climbing - on the weekend Liam discovered that he can climb up into his highchair if the tray isn't on it, he tries to climb onto his chest of drawers from his change table, has working out how to climb onto the back of the couch...and this is just in the last few days. And as soon as we get through the door of my neighbour's home he's straight up her stairs - quite exhausting.
Sacha - I've just started watching In the Night Garden with Liam - it's on at a good time for us as I'm often trying to calm him down a bit in preparation for his sleep, although we don't usually see much more than about 10 minutes - we have concentration issues. Very cute that Autie can do the dance. If you saw it this morning, they followed it up with a Bananas in Pyjamas rendition of Old McDonalds Farm which I thought was really fun - it got Liams attention too, he started doing his little circle dance & wiggling his hips, cracks me up watching him.
Megan - Lucas' words are very cute & very clever being able to say "two peas". I did some exam supervising many years ago - it's got to rate as one of the most tedious things I've ever done I reckon, so I think you earn every penny. Eek for the car accident though.
Well, I jinxed myself yesterday when I wrote about hoping for a good night, cos we had a shocker last night. I was up for a lot of it trying to get him to go back to sleep, he was just beside himself. Still getting high temps, and he had a bit of a vomit this evening, so it's just a bit of a watch & wait it out thing I think. Although my sister called to say that her little boy has chicken pox. We saw them on the weekend, but Liam's had his chicken pox vaccination, so I'm hoping that we're not heading down that path, although I guess it's just one of the things you cope with if it does happen.
Anyway, bedtime for me - hope everyone else is well.
-
Megan- Lucas sounds very cute, Well done to him on putting 2 words together Very clever... Oh no on the accident. Hope you are ok... Was there much damage done to the ute?
Sacha- Autie sounds very cute telling the plants off.. Target have Ankle gum boots like Megan said. You can get some really cute ones.. Gee i wish i was organised like you are with Auties Weekly activitys.. We only go to playgroup each wednesday i just cant find the time to do many other things. So well done to you... Altho we do go to friend places or have friends round who have children bayleighs age so atleast he gets to interact with other kids
Mel- How exciting about Japan.. My cousin has been living and working ver there for the last 5-6 years and he loves it, he loves the coulture. My brother lived and taught English over there for just over 2 years and hated coming back to Australia last Nov but hes now in Korea teaching English so hes happy... Hows all the organising going? Im sure you all will have soooo much fun..
Jan- LOL at the trained monkey but it does feel like that sometimes.. Teaching them new things each day... Liam sounds very cute screaming for the Croc.. Is he feeling better?
Nicky- Hope the MS calms down for you soon... How nice of DH to take Lachie to work for the day so you could rest, Thats sweet..
Em- RIHANNA & Chris Brown were Awesome,Not as good as P!NK performance wise but were still up there.. The pics arent the greatest but atleast i got some, I also have some Video footage on my Mobile so once i find the USB lead i will upload them to FB.. Hope Tom is better Poor thing having Ear infections, Chloe used to get them every 3-4 weeks from the time she got her first tooth till she had gromits put in at the age of 3.. Im like you with the pressie Our unfinished ensuite has become my hiding place for all the Presents. LOL Im gunna have to find another place soon coz there isnt much room left in the ensuite.. I cant help but grab the bargins i see in the clearence sections at Kmart and Target :) Its chloes birthday later this mon th we were only getting her one BUG present and 2-3 small pressies but i have GONE wayyyyy over that so i think i may have to talk to my mum and MIL and see if they want to give her some of the items i have brought LOL
I hear ya on the Independant thing too LOL Bayleigh is the same
Well us hmmmm well i went to see RIHANNA and Chris Brown in concert In Adelaide on Monday night and it was AWESOME :) We got to be within 5m of the stage so that was ace..
I had abit over 24 hours away from the kids which was nice for both me and Chris as he got to spend it with just him and the kids and i got time to myself. Everytime i got out of the car i opened the back door and then remembered i didnt have to get Bayleigh out of the car.. my BIL picked up on it when we went into the city to go shopping and i just laughed LOL
I have started looking around for a dress for me to wear to my dads wedding on new years eve but nto sure wat size to buy as i want to lose another 10kg by the wedding so im hoping i will be in a 14 by then but thinking i should maybe buy a 16 just incase... I have to look around for Dress shorts for Bayleigh and Ryan as they are the ring bearers and a dress for chloe but nothing to formal as its just a backyard wedding.. Decided on a present for them also i have spoken to My soon to be step sisters ad my bro and sis and we are all putting in money and going to pay for my dad n step mum's honeymoon to tassie all they will need to pay for is car hire/petrol and spendign money... but its going to be a surprise coz they will tell us off if they know we are doing it. and we are also going to get a family pic done of all us kids and get it framed and give that to them.. now we just have to orgainse the honeymoon LOL Bonus for us as we have asked Chris EX wife if we are able to have Ryan for a week so he can be involved i the family event and we got word from her sister that she is 80% sure she is going to allow ryan to come with us which will be amazing as we have never been allowed to take ryan on family hols before adn my havent meet him in the 3 years chris and i have been together so we are really hoping she will allow ryan to come with us to melb..
And another win for us we had the family report done reagrding ryan spending extra time with us Ex wife was refusing ryan to be able to spend extra tiem with us becoz she said he wasnt copig with the 36 hours a fortnight and wanted to decrease the hours not increase them but the family report says that Ryan NEEDS to spend more time with us so they have basically recommended the times we have been askign for for the last 3 years which is good, But she is saying no to most of it so it loloks like we will have to go back to court for the court to decide.. And we have been told that the court will go with the recommendations so fingers crossed.....
Well i have rambled on enough im sure you will be falling asleep by now if you have gotten this far...
Have a great day
Sarah

Hi all, its lurking Flossie here!!
Sorry I have been like Em (love the new name by the way) and been to busy to post and skim through a few of the last ones tonight.
Mel-I saw on your FB that you are off to Japan SO lucky!!! You will have to do lots of shopping :) How are your babies going?
Sarah - sounds like the concert was good. Are those 2 dating? I so hope for you guys that Ryan can go away with you, when do you find out?
Nicky - I hope the MS buggers off for you soon! I don't think I am frineds on FB with you, but I want to peek at your wedding photos!! I love wedding photos :)
Hi to everyone I have missed will try and keep up more often but I know I always say that!!
What is happenig with us? Still trying to sell the damn house SO over it!!
Olivia is doing well, she has been taking a few steps here and there - she knows she can do it but just won't - so cheeky!! She says so funny words like:
change
star
tar
cheers (then you have to cheers her)
Sasha (in laws dog)
wow
And a few others. She is doing well though, I think she could be getting a bit of a sniffle but hope its just teething. She is SO funny with food - its like a pig during the day and still fusses with dinner. I just wish she would eat vegies one by one, she loves carrot but just not greens unless I mix them in with things. The other day at Mum's group all the boys where throwing her sultanas on the floor laughing away, and there is my little piggy sitting quietly eating them all up :) Love it, she is adorable.
Question: Peanut butter - when? how much? etc - I have been meaning to give to Olivia but just don't know too much on giving it to her!!
Hope everyone is well.
Flos xx

Just a quick one for Lis re: peanut butter. When I gave it to Autie, it was just a bit on toast and she didn't even swallow I don't think before she reacted. There are two theories for when to give it - some say to wait until 2 or even 3, but the allergy specialist told me studies seem to be showing holding off on exposing them may actually make it worse. :dunno: I just know I'm glad I gave it to her here it at home and was ready to watch for problems rather than waiting until she was given it by someone else without my knowledge. HTH :D
-
Thanks Sarah! I think I will give it to her one morning next week when we aren't going anywhere. I spoke to a friend last night and she said to put a bit on her lip first, then the next day put some on her tounge. Apparently they should have a reaction by the 2nd try? Is Autie still illergic to nuts? Do you think that is why she broke out straight away? Its all so hard ;)
Thanks again, I will let you know how I go!
-
Lis, if you are really cautious, you could do a skin test on her inner elbow first, then the lip, then the tongue. If she breaks out in any type of rash at any stage, I would go to the GP and get a referral to a specialist for a proper test before trying her on any more. It's not likely Autie will ever outgrow her allergy as it is a severe one. About 20% of those with milder reactions may outgrow it. Good luck, hope you have no problems!

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick one from me, sorry I won't be able to do personals, but I'm just about to pack the computer up, and finish packing.
We are off tomorrow morning, 7am sharp. Will be away for 11 days, but might be able to pop on the net while I'm over there, not sure yet.
Really looking forward to the trip, I think the kids will love the plane trip, the best part is that DH work has bought us Business Class tickets on JAL, woo hoo, can't wait to experience that, then we have to catch the bullet train, to Nagoya, and I know the kids will love that, I told Jack that we might be riding on Thomas, and his eyes beamed and he starting clapping saying Thomas, Thomas yey yey, so so cute.
Anyway I must be off. Thanks everyone for your positive thoughts about the trip, I was a little worried at first taking the kids away but I'm now very very excited, thanks to all yoru positive remarks, thank you.
Take care all
Mel.
