Pap Smears- My ob offered to do one on fri at my checkup- i said no its okay will wait till I am due (jan). he then went and did an internal anyway to check my tear  should have got him to do it then to save me the trouble!! I was impressed- he 'checked me out' while he was nursing Kaetlyn as Aaron couldnt be there and silly me didnt take the pram in!!
Bec- Kaetlyn was such a good girl that she slept last night from 9pm till 7am this morning- i think that was the medicine that she had yesterday. she missed a feed yesterday from this so i expressed- i didnt want to wake her cause I think it was a bit traumatic for her. will stir her now cause she is die and she is asleep. needless to say my BBies are full as a goog!!!
I am not sure what it was that went in her throat- I cant remeber the name of it. I was reading that you shouldnt give them panadol before the needles, LOL but the doc thought it was a good idea. Ahh well whatever works best for everyone. If you do use it, i sigguest putting it in the side of the mouth at the back- it jsut slides down the throat that way.
Well am off to order the christening cake - forgot to do it earlier!! hope they can still make it! Wouldnt want to have to make that at the lastminute myself (I must be gifted- yess i can sew and cake decorate)- i must be one of those old fashioned mums that are going out of style- sew cook clean LMAO I wish!!!
Growing up my mum believed in girls do girls things- so i went to brownies and guides and sewing school! no dancing or sports for me!

Hi all. Not too much to report today...Alessia got weighed and put on 210grams this week which is great especially given that we've been slightly concerned with her weight gains.
Jas thanks for your words of support. Breastfeeding is definitely something that does not come easy to me and I'm sure, a lot of other women. I don't know how far we'll be able to go - as long as Alessia is healthy, that is all that matters and it seems like you've done the exact right thing by Noah.
-
AHHH!! I dont know what to do anymore... Avaleigh's feeding is doing my head in still. I've just spent the last 50 minutes trying to feed her and half of that time Avaleigh was crying whenever I put her to the boob so I would pull her away cause I thought she wasnt hungry and then she would start looking for food and sucking whatever she got in her mouth, so gave her dummy and she would drop it and scream!! Its really starting to frustrate me to the point that I want to give up.. I know I shouldnt be whinging because there are some that are doing it tougher than us, its just soo annoying cause everythng has been going great and then just turned to $h!t in the last 4 days... Yesterday when I went to the gym Avaleigh had 150mls of milk and then was still screaming for more about 1 hour later, so I fed her and she had probably another 60mls more... I dont know what to do. I am expressing my milk but dont want to give it to her to often in a bottle because its probably easier for her. I know that she just hates to 'work' for her milk.....
I know this is very selfish but I am thinking of quitting so I can get stuck right in to losing weight for my wedding. For all I know, my milk quality might not be the best?! But I can get up to 150mls from one very full breast so it shouldnt be that....
sorry for the whinge, but it feels good to get it out.. I am so hungry but we have got to go out now :(
-
Veronica, I don't know how to help you (as one needing help myself!) but please don't doubt the 'quality' of your milk. It's perfect for Avaleigh - but there must be something that is causing her behaviour. Might be worth chatting to your GP or MCHN about it *Hugs*
-
V - this sounds like the issues i have had with Lach. he continually used to pull on and off, all the time screaming... starving, but being so damn fussy.
its def not ur milk. ur milk is made perfect for your bub. lach has calmed down a lot latly, but i still have the odd feed where hes a right royal pain.if its important to you to bf, then try and perservere. it does get better. i also found that lach was worst during growth spurts.... like today for example
plus the bf will help u shift weight much quicker than normal.
try and keep at it. the dummyspits are apain, but fingers crossed it doesnt last long... for u and i!!
oh and ive found, using a nipple sheild spmetimes encourages lach to feed lot better too.
sorry for my post, got the cranky one in my arms at the min.
will pop back later f his highness permits!!!lol

Hi all
Lol sara at being the perfect mummy You can be the one that does everything from scratch that the rest of the mums are jealous of.
Great to hear that katelyn slept the yuckyness away. Maybe she will get a taste for sleeping 10 hours and keep doing it for you. What a nice doc you must have too. I'm sure the cake will be fine, how long until the baptism now? was it just a liquid that they put down her throat. If so it would have been for polio, I think it's called sabin, but I was told that had been included in a multi vaccine now. Maybe it depends where you go.
Fran, yay on the weight gain. I'm not sure if breast feeding really comes easy to anyone, it something that both you and bubs have to learn. It may sound like we are having an easy time, but I think it's 'cause Xavier is good at it not me. If he wasn't such a little piggy that will give anything nipple shaped a suck then we might have been buggered.
Veronica I've had a day or two like this and I just keep persevering. Every time without fail our problem has been that he is so very tired (possibly from growth spurts) that he needs to sleep but refuses to and because he isn't sleeping he thinks he's more hungry. Like if I was really tired I tend to eat more to make up for the loss in energy. Yet when he does go to eat it's a couple of sucks and then fussy boy is back, because his tummy says his full, iykwim. On those days if I can feed him enough to be calm, change him, and then whack him in the HAB, and rock him to sleep. I wear him for a while and he can usually get a decent 2-3hours. wakes up because he is actually hungry and feeds properly.
It has taken up to 2 days of doing this for him to calm down on occasion.
Nicki, hi good to hear things are improving. Has Lach had his imunisations yet? I'm thinking of going to the one at the lake next monday, he's 8 weeks this friday so I want to get these out of the way quick smart.
-
Veronica - A few weeks ago Diana had the same feeding issues that Avaleigh seems to be having now. I can't remember how long it went on for (seemed like forever), but one day it just stopped and she was so much more settled. So please perservere. It is so worth it. :) BTW - your wedding dress looks great.
Sara - good on you for sewing and decorating cakes and all. You are a super mummy. I can't seem to get it together to do the dishes these days, let alone do something creative... Kaetlyn's dress looks beautiful.
Diana has had a good day today, after a few sooky ones. She did a gigantic poo last night, so maybe that's why she's in so much of a better mood today, lol. I have finally gotten around to posting some photos of her, as well as her Christening dress in the members gallery.
Hi to everyone else. Sorry for lack of personals. I am so tired, so will go off to bed soon.
-
Thanks everyone for your support, I really appreciate it!! I am going to keep on going with the breastfeeding. I am sure that Avaleigh is just going through a growth spurt and trying to get my body to produce more milk. I've decided to not give her a bottle unless I really need to. I do have a bottle of 180mls of EBM in the fridge and it seems like such a waste to throw it away but its too late now to freeze it. What I am going to do is help with the build up of breast milk and spend a bit of time expressing after a feed and I will freeze what ever I get out, hopefully its what I need to build it up for Avaleigh!
Oh and thanks everyone for your comments on my dress!! I cant wait to get it and try it on in a size that fits me!

It's a quiet day in here today. We're having a really sleepy day in this household, which is a lovely change from yesterday, when he didn't sleep for more than half an hour at a time for most of the afternoon, so I was exhausted by the end of the day. I don't know if anyone else gets this, but sometimes by the end of the day my back is achingly tired from all the lifting & holding, especially on the non-sleep days. I think I find this worse than the lack of sleep for me.
It sounds like the fussy feeding is pretty common - Liam has his moments too. One thing that the paed said to me when we saw him last week was that it's important to remember who the adult in the relationship is, and to not let the child dictate everything. I found this helpful, cos it sort of got me to stop worrying so much about the fussy feeding. So, over the last week, if he fusses, I stop feeding & we do something else for about half an hour, sometimes more, until Liam gives me clearer "I'm hungry" signals. He has a really cute signal, basically moves his mouth & tongue as if he's trying to lap up some milk - it's quite adorable, and so far if I wait for this sign then I get a much better feed with him from there. It feels like we're "arguing" much less, and I think I've improved on picking the hungry/tired/bored signals a bit, which is good for both of us.
V – wedding dress is gorgeous, you’re going to look stunning I’m sure.
Fran – well done on Alessia’s weight gain – 210g is great for a weeks worth! I’ve been thinking about all the problems that you’re having with B/F, and I wanted to say that being a great mum is so much more than how they get fed, and from what I’ve read in your posts you’re a great mum, so whatever ends up working for both of you, Alessia is still a really lucky girl.
Sara, (the super mum) – did you get your christening cake ordered in time?
Jas – bummer about AF coming back so soon. I’m not looking forward to her reappearance at all, although I suppose on one hand it’s maybe nice to know that you’re in “working order” again.
Mel – what are you feeding him?? 7.1kg is very impressive!!
I can’t believe that I got this entire post written without a stir! I’m not going to push my luck anymore, I’m posting now, then heading off to do some dishes…woo hoo, life is just too exciting in this house :)

hi everyone I just have a quick question...I havn't posted in here yet cos my little boy was 8 weeks early. He was born July 12th :)Congrats to evryone with their new little bundles!
about 7 weeks after his birth we started to get back into the bedroom iykwim;) My question is that I am on the mini pill and havn't really had a period scince I stopped bleeding, the past couple of days I have been slightly bleeding- just a bit when I wipe is that normal? Or should I go to the doctor and have it cheaked out? Everything was normal at my 6 week check up
Thanks for your help
take care

Hi all,
Zofia, good to hear you guys are going strong!!
Veronica, glad your going to persevere. I was having an I don't want to do this anymore afternoon yesterday it felt like all he wanted to do was feed but wouldn't feed properly. So once nathan got home I actually expressed and handed bottle and baby to him. I needed a break.
Jan, you sound like your doing really well too. Good advice on the remembering who the adult is. It sure is hard sometimes to remember. Especially when your tired and if like me revert back to infancy yourself and get all sooky.
Nay23, welcome and congrats on the birth of your son. I'm sorry I can't answer your question though. I know nothing about the mini pill, or dtd after birth, haven't ventured there yet
-
nay - Congrats on your lil boy!! Boys really did rule the july thread :) I just started the mini pill 3 or 4 days ago and for the past 2 days I have had a slight bleed, not enough for a pad just wearing a liner. How long have you been on the mini pill for?
-
Hey Veronica, it's funny that you say you started the mini pill only 3-4 days ago. And wasn't it just after that, that Avaleigh started to gety fussy at the boob. When I went on the mini pill for a month before we tried to conceive Jack, Charlize went right off B/F, I didn't know it at the time, but my Doc later told me that the mini pill can have an effect on the taste of breast milk, and not all babies like it. Maybe this could be why Avaleigh is a little fussy lately, maybe she doesn't like the taste like Charlize didn't???????????????? Might be something to look into. Oh yeah, and once we went off it, she was back to normal until I fell pregnant then my supply stopped. Interesting though, I'd be surprised that it didn't have something to do with it.
Nay, I'm sure everything is fine. But if you feel you would be of ease if you had medical confirmation, there is no harm in asking. But I would think, it would just probably be your body getting back into cycle or similar. How is your little man going anyhow?
We are well, don't have much time tonight, BBL tomorrow hopefully.
-
Mel - I have thought that the mini pill could have something to do with Avaleigh being fussy. She was fussy a bit in the past but not as much as this week. She actually was a little better today and hasnt had the usual 5pm screams, so fingers crossed the rest of the week is good!
-
Morning!!
ARGH I've got my period!!! I thought this day would be still agggggggggggges away but NOPE!! But I guess 8 and a half weeks after Avaleigh isnt too bad.. I am a bit scared to use anything else than a pad! LOL Its funny how we can go through child birth but afraid of something so small like using a tampon or even DTD!!! Maybe Avaleigh was so fussy because my period was coming?? *shrugs* DUNNO!! I guess we will see when its gone.
I hope everyone is well and good and getting lots of sleep!!
-
Hi Everyone,
V, I've also heard that AF coming back can effect breastfeeding, maybe a combo of the mini pill and AF coming back. Hopefully avaleigh will continue feeding well now that she has settled down, goodluck.
Fran, Hope everything is going well with feeding well just wondering if anyone has heard from some of the belly buddies ladies that I haven't seen any posts from....Debbie, Kristylin??
Just wondering whether Debbie had a boy or girl and how little maddy is going?
-
Hey Ladies,
I forgot to mention last night. We got our first giggles out of Jack 2 nights ago, so cute:p He is doing it all the time now when you pull funny faces at him. Charlee makes him laugh, which is cute too.
I just went shopping to get him some more clothes as he is now in size 00, hopefully they will last him alittle longer than the 000 did. I tell you, we would have saved so much money if we had another girl:rolleyes: But I wouldn't swap him for the world.
-
Oh V- sorry about AF!!! Hope full that will solve your BF problems? LOL she still hasnt arrived at my house!!! I was saying to aaron the other day, its been well and truely over a year!!! After going off the pill AF never arrived again (fell pregnant after 3 months but no AF!!). I am not in an particular hurry to get them either!! I know what you mean about tampons/pads and DTD. I guess we might be extra sensitive after 'whats gone on down there' IFYKWIM!!!
Well the cake got orederd in time, and I have done the shopping for the party, just have to but the meat tomorrow and aaron to get the grog, then we are all set! MIL and SIL's are coming over tonight to get everythign ready like salads etc as on sat there WILL BE NO TIME AT ALL to get it ready!!
My bro arrives at the airport at 10pm tonight and we are picking him up. I am excited as I havent seen him since mums funeral which was dec, and I was only 6 weeks pg at that stage. I have been telling Kaetlyn all week that she will finally get to meet her uncle Simon!! He talks to her over the phone which is cute, not like my brother at all!!
Mel- Kaetlyn has been giving giggles for at least 2 weeks now. Aaron is busy teaching her how to poke her tongue out!! Its cute but I know it will haunt us shortly when is all she does!!!
Jas- not sure about the others- some of them have posted after birth but havent been in here since. Will try and hunt them down and see where they are
-
Hi all,
Veronica, I've heard a bubs can be fussy when a period is coming, I guess it has something to do with hormones. The mini pill probably works on the same hormones. Bugger for you though. LOL I know what you mean about being scared, but i guess A) that area was in tip top condition prior to baby squeezing out and b) that baby was going through there weather you liked it or not
Jas, I believe debbie had a boy maybe in August (for some reason I think it was the same day as Xavier) Kristy not sure she's been mia for a while now. Veronica will probably know more.
Mel, how tall is jack? we have already had to go up to 00's in wondersuits 'cause they are a bit snug esp on the feet. I also noticed classic pooh from target is too tight in 000s most other thins xavier wears are still 000's Well I get to find out how big my little man is tomorrow, I doubt he would match up to jack though.
Sara, how sweet of your brother. Good luck for the big day, I'm sure it will be great christenings/baptisms usually are really good days.
-
Rebecca, he was 63.5cm at his last check in a few days ago. I don't expect him to be taller than average, as Dh and I are only shorties, not that he likes to admit to that. But I think that puts him into the 75th percentile, so just a little over average. It's his weight that puts him just over the 90th percentile, he is a little chubby. But I think I will have another check at his weight and length in a week as I'm pretty sure we have just had another growth spurt, as he has been feeding every 2 hours during the day and waking an hour earlier at night. I had to get him some 00 jumpsuits a couple of weeks ago, as if was getting impossible to hit him into the 000. Xavier is a few weeks behind him, so he is probably a bigger boy than Jack if he is already into the 00 as well. Boys just seem to be so much bigger, we that is what I have noticed anyhow. Let us know how big he is when you get him weighed etc., I'm bet his is alittle cutie. :)
-
Yes Debbie had a boy named Chevy, I forgot what day he was born tho!! And Kris has been out camping with her family but its not your average camping cause they took a fridge, playstation and she even managed to get on line to email me a few times!! LOL
-
Hi all
I havent posted for a while as we have been sick (again) but I have been trying to keep up with all that has been going on. I am madly packing for our trip to Sydney this weekend so I will do a proper post when we get back.
We are taking Charlotte and Oliver and Jesse is staying home with my mum and dad. I feel a bit guilty leaving Jesse home but he will have more fun with his nanna and poppa than having us drag him around Sydney.
Does anyone know what you should do with a baby and flying. Meaning should I feed her when we take off and land so she is swallowing to clear her ears?
Take care everyone and love to you all and your beautiful babes
Jem
XXX
-
Exactly Jem. Just feed her during take off and landing and she'll be fine. Hope you have a lovely trip. Did you end up buying anything to wear? We have a wedding this weekend too. Well it's a surprise wedding, although we all know:rolleyes:. It's in Stanthorpe, I haven't been back there since my Nanny Died almost 7 years ago:cry:. I'm looking forward to it though.
Have a great time in Sydney, hope you get a chance to do some retail therapy.;)
-
Hi everyone
Nay - welcome to this thread. Hope you and your boy are well. What's his name?
Veronica - bummer about getting AF. I am hoping mine stays away for a while longer yet (fingers crossed). I so understand what you mean about being scared to use anything other than a pad. I feel the same way.
Sara - that is so cool about your brother talking to Kaetlyn on the phone.Does she like it? I occassionally talk to Diana when I am at work, but I am never sure of her reaction as I am on the other end...
Jan - LOL re remembering who the adult in the relationship is. It is so hard to remember sometimes, isn't it?
Jemima - hope you're feeling better and that your trip to Sydney goes well. Where abouts are you going to be staying? Yes, I think that you are supposed to give a baby a breast/bottle/dummy so that they can suck on take-off and landing.
Rebecca and Mel - wow your boys are getting big, aren't they? Diana has just started wearing 000 recently. I am slowly putting her 0000 clothes away as they are all getting too short. She is 60cm long now and weighs 5.4kg. When she was born she was on the 3rd percentile weightwise and on the 25th in length (my supermodel girl) and now she is around the 50th for both, so she has caught up really well, I think.
I am having a bit of trouble typing this evening. Diana dribbled on the keyboard a few days ago. I took the spacebar key off to clean it and haven't been able to put it back on properly. It is kind of floppy, and unless I hit it in the middle it doesn't work...
Diana did a wee like a big girl today. She was kind of wriggly and sooky, so I checked her nappy. It was dry. I put her on the potty and she did a wee. I was then able to put the same nappy back on her. I am so stoked.
Hi to everyone else. Hope you're all having a good night.
-
Hi all,
Was meant to post on Tuesday to say that Olivia did a poo LOL but she hasn't done another since :( It was a lovely one too hehehe
Mel - oh that is so cute with the giggles, I am hanging for LIvvie to do them!!!
V - How is the feeding going? Olivia is bottlefed (both F and B/M) and she is so fussy, each time you take the bottle away from her she screams. I know its different to what you are going through though and hope it all gets better for you soon :)
Jem - hope you are feeling better! I have heard that when flying with a baby they are to be having a bottle so swallowing is good for their ears to pop IYKWIM?
Olivia is still in some 000 but I put her in mostly 00 pants as I find the 000 are too tight for her porky tummy!! LOL
She is doing well though, but doesn't sleep well after her morning nap (she gets up around 12) but she sleeps through the night so I can't complain about her awake day patterns.
Well I had the dreaded pap smear and it was AWFUL. I also had to get this U shaped silver thing up there so the Dr could check the walls of the vagina (sorry TMI) for prolapse. She said that there is a very minor muscle issue so very far up in the distance LOL. I am feeling a little better and not in constant pain when I stand so x fingers its only going to get better from here.
Well I must go, off to Mum and Dad - they leave tomorrow for overseas trip for 4 weeks.
Have a good one all
Floss xx
-
flossie - feeding is going ok. Avaleigh is still fussing a bit and screaming. but we will see what she is like when AF is gone. How much BM and formula milk do you give Olivia? I am maybe thinking about topping avaleigh up if she still continues like this for the next few weeks..
i got some real cute clothes for avaleigh today! i cant wait for it to warm up, its meant to be warm this weekend so i might dress her up in something cute!!
-
Hi all,
Mel we ad xavier weighed and measured today. he is about 5.4kg and 59cm long. I think we need some 00's 'cause he has pretty big feet, and some of the suits were way too tight on his feet. We also all have long backs, so maybe that is another reason. But the only things he has grown out of in 000's is the 'wondersuits' and classic pooh brand from target. Oh and socks that are 0-3months, they haven't fit for about 4 weeks now lol.
Veronica, now that's what I call camping. I hope they are having fun. I'm sure avaleigh will look gorgeous all dressed up. I've been dressing xavier up (nathan told me he's not a doll  ) but it's easier to dress boys up in cool weather. But aren't there some gorgeous little dresses out for summer.
Jemima, if feeding time doesn't fit in with flying time take a dummy for sucking.
Zofia, Lol at your supermodel. Xavier is in the 75th percentile for weight and 50th for height. He's not overly huge but as I said to mel the wondersuits in particular are quite tight.
Flossie, I hope you are on the mend. Don't you hate those type of examinations. icky Yuck.
Well as I said above weight and height still going strong.
How many feeds per day were you all on around the 8 week mark (breast fed that is) Xavier is not so much being fussy as just telling me he's not really hungry. I'm not sure if he's just getting faster and better at feeding and now he can last longer or what.
Best news ever, and please don't hit me "lol" last night xavier slept from 8.45 till 6am no interuptions. When he woke up this morning (waking me up) I looked at the clock and madea bit of a woot woot noise as i happily went in to say good morning.
-
Hey Rebecca
I'm no longer writing down when I feed Liam, so I'm not 100% sure, but I think I still feed around 6 times a day, but he feeds for much less time these days (well, most of the time). Usually around 10-15 minutes on the first side, then sometimes only about 5 minutes on the second side, as opposed to a minimum of 20 minutes each side when we first started. So I'm assuming his efficiency has improved. And he's very definite when he's had enough - no force feeding my kid, he just cracks it if I try. He's been like this for a couple of weeks, which corresponds to about the 8 week mark, given that we're nearly 10 weeks old (eek, where does the time go??)
Liam's also just about out of the 000 wondersuits, although the 000 bonds singlet suits that I've got him in are still plenty roomy enough - work that out??
-
Quiet in here this weekend!!
Well I have to say that feeding time is starting to be very time consuming.. The only way I can satisfy Avaleigh is by expressing milk out after she has had a bit of a feed at my breasts, so feeding is starting to be about 1 hour long  and she is still feeding every 3 hours. I think I can safely say that I am over breastfeeding.. gee how bad am I at saying that?!?!?! I dont know how much longer I can go on doing this. I am expressing after each feed but I also express at the 6am feed cause my breasts are still so full. I might buy a tin of formula and see how she likes that.............................................. ....................... I think she will like anything that comes out of a bottle
-
Pheewwww what at day!!!
Its all over! The baptism went great! no hitches. only prob was that we had about 8 extra people turn up that never replied :wall: and everyone turned up that said they would:doh: (normally poeple dont end up turning up).
Kaetlyn looked so cute in her dress and word quickly spread that I had made it myself, so everyone loved it even more!!! She looked so cute in her 'after party' dress which was pink with sequins on it!!!
She was very well behaved as well, only cried when she was hungry (and as time flew by i swear i fed her every hour)!!!
Nanny and poppy brought her a swing thing that rocks- so poppy set that up and she fell alseep in it afterwards when we were opening all the pressies. She looked so cute in it also.
I will post some photos up when I get some- I didnt use my camera at all so will have to get copies
V- I hope that breast feeding is getting better, but by the sounds of it its not getting better:cry:. Hope your problems reslove soon. Have you tried the ABA to see if they have any solutions? I have the number to call if you want to call them in WA.
Jan- I hear you on the wondersuits- KAetlyn is now in 00 wondersuits, i think it is the material as they seem to shrink when they are washed (and put in the dryer )
Well am off to rest on the couch for a while, I am zonked as I have cleaned the house after the party already (one of the bubs that is 3 weeeks younger than Kaetlyn projectiled over our polished floor boards and wasnt cleaned up properly :wall:)
-
hi all,
Jan, I have to admit I never have recorded any feeding or dirty nappies. I guess I probably should have to make sure everything was working ok. I think he might have just had an off couple of days 'cause he definetly wanted to eat today. But i also tried out the infants friend and got better burps so that might have had something to do with it. We still fit 00 bonds singles too. Do you think maybe the wondersuits shrink a little?? 'cause the kmart brand terry suits are fitting really well. (fyi the kmart ones are under $5 each this week)
Veronica, don't feel bad about wanting to stop. You have done a great job with feeding and you have perservered through some tough times. You should be proud of yourself. If formula works best for the 2 of you then go for it. cause both mumand bubs need to be happy and healthy. When you do express how much to you get out. If you are emptying then your body thinks it needs to maintain that supply. You could consider trying a quick express just before the feed too. Apparently if bbs are quite full, the bubs get a really strong stream of milk which hits them in the back of the throat and can make them fuss around because the feeding is uncomfy for them.
Expressing before the feed may reduce the pressure.
Sara, glad the baptism went so well. Your little girl must be too popular foe no shows.
Oh spew on the floor boards and it wasn't even Katleyns, that must have been a pain. Just think one day you will have mashed vegies all over them too
hope you all have a good sunday.
-
Morning!!
I am always changing my mind about breastfeeding but I decided I am going to continue. Hopefully this fussines is just cause I have my period and it will all go back to normal when its gone, which hopefully will be soon!!
To top things off, I have got a cold :( :( :( :( What are the chances of Avaleigh getting a cold too??
-
Hi everyone
Sara - glad that Kaetlyn's baptism went well. :)
Rebecca - I noticed that around the 8 week mark Diana wasn't feeding as much, i.e. still had the same number of feeds, but wasn't on the breast anywhere near as long...
Veronica - LOL about changing your mind re breastfeeding all the time. I've felt like that at times too, although after about 12 weeks breasfeeding has become so much easier than I imagine bottle feeding would be, so it's probably worth perservering if you can.
Well, Diana has been a grumpy girl this weekend. Yesterday she was inconsolably sooky most of the day. I am hoping that this is simply because she hasn't done a poo in a few days, but last night I saw that she has two teeth clearly visible under her gums in the bottom front. Eeek! Could she be teething this early?? If her mood doesn't improve today I might take her to the doctor tomorrow. She seems otherwise fine, i.e. no temperature or anything, but is just generally not happy. :(
-
Does anyone want to swap kiddies?!
Mines a right royal pain in the bum.
Wont sleep on his own... EVER!
starting to get over it! lol
I wish he would just be ok, when mum wasnt in the room, instead of screaming his lungs out.
Oh and I wish he would sleep more than 1 hour during the day! I can hear in his cries how tired he is!
Lucky he stops crying when hes near someone, and turns into the happiest vlittle boy around. If i wasn't for the smiles and the laughing we get from him... I would have gone mental by now!
Sorry, I haven't read any posts for a few days... I promise to catch up soon.
hope you are all well.we are in teh middle of moving houses.
Hope to have the rest completed next weekend, as we will start living out at the new place as of the second week of october.
okies, gotta try and keep Lach happy and get the car packed!
bye

Zofia, it could be teeth that is bothering Diana. I have heard of some babies getting them at 3 months and others like Charlize not until much later. I remember Charlize teeth were up and down like a brides nighty until they finally made an appearance around 11 months. They would come so close to breaking the skin and she would be all grumpy and miserable then the next day she would wake up and they are no where to be seen again, very strange. Hope she sleeps well tonight, and good luck at the docs if you go.
Veronica, I still think the fussiness could still be from the mini pill. Have you looked into that? And I agree with Zofia, the first 12 weeks are the hardest, I'd try to hang it out, but there is no shame into switching to formula if that is what would worst best for the two of you. Hope she improves soon.
Nicky, hugs to you hun and lol at baby swapping. Moving with a baby is just so much fun hey? NOT!!!!!! We have to do it again the end of october and I'm definately not looking forward to it. Best of luck and I hope Lachlan improves soon.
Sara, yey on everything going well, can't wait to see pics.
Jem, how did the wedding go? We got back from Stanthorpe around lunch time, it was great to get back there to see family that I haven't seen in awhile, but it's along way to go for just one night.
Big yey for me today, my Aunty gave me a horse saddle that she wasn't using, so I now have my own to use when I visit my sister, can't wait to try it out. We are all well, nothing much on our front.
Hi to everyone else, will take again soon.

V – isn’t it incredible how something as basic as feeding can be so difficult at times. I’m not sure how things are placed in WA, but maybe your MCHN could put you onto a lactation clinic, or even just get an appointment with a lactation consultant? Or the ABA might be able to help (think someone else suggested that as well). But like Rebecca says, the most important way is the way that works for both you & Avaleigh., whatever that might be. Re the cold – I’ve had a pretty nasty one for the last week, but so far no sign that Liam has caught it. I think that your milk gets a fair dose of antibodies in it, which tends to protect bub (but not always).
Zofia –I hope that Diana has become a little happier today for you. The teeth thing sounds a bit interesting – I guess we hope that she’s not teething quite this early and that the grumpiness is just due to the need for a poo
Sara – sounds like you’ve had a great Christening day, which is good, cos you did so much work to pull it all together. Also, don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but the Christening dress is just beautiful – you a very talented
Nicky – you poor chook, they can do you head in sometimes with all their “dependency” issues! When I’m having tough times, I just try to remind myself that the first 12 weeks are allegedly the hardest, and that they say that the crying is the worst around the 8 week mark, so each day I’m closer to it being a little bit easier. I know my sister’s DS was a crying nightmare for the first 12 weeks, but has subsequently turned into a really cheery and fun kid who doesn’t cry nearly so much, so hopefully there’s some truth in the rumour that they improve.
Mel – yay for the horse saddle, and yay for the horse riding. Not something I’ve done much of (being a city bound chick), but what little bits I have done I loved, so I’m a bit jealous.
Not much else to report from here. We’ve had a strange kind of a day, feels like Liam’s spent most of it being asleep, but he’s had scrappy feeding in between times, so it’s been a little tiring. His feeding was really bad this morning, so I ended up expressing about 110 mls (the alternative was to explode with milk), which became an afternoon feed. It was only the 2nd time he’s had a bottle, and the first time that Pat fed him, so that was pretty cute. Mind you, 110ml direct from me probably takes at least half an hour (combined), but from a bottle took about 2 minutes – amazing how quickly it disappeared.
Anyway, the wake up grunts have begun, best be off before it changes to a yell..

Morning everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. We had a very busy one, with a BBQ at the inlaws on Saturday and yesterday we had visitors. As much as I love having ppl over cooing over Alessia, I just wish they were all done with (we have a massive family and they're taking their sweet time in 'visiting' us!). Plus side is that Alessia gets lots of cute new outfits :)
I'm getting Alessia's hands and feet cast this week - she's also due for her shots. Poor darling, she won't know what hit her!
Anyways, speak of the angel, she's stirring. Talk soon everyone!

I knew i was tempting fate by coming on here, she has just stirred and aaron is getting her.
I willl quickly put some photos in the gallery of kaetlyn and her 'dress'
Glad you are all well. it is a public holiday here today

Hi all,
Veronica I hope Avaleigh doesn't get your cold. Breast feeding will help her though, you just make sure you keep your fluids up
Zofia, teeth, my that has gone quickly but she is around 3 months old huh not unusual I believe. Fingers crossed they come through quick and you don't have too many sleepless nights.
Nicki, I'm sure it's just a phase. He might know that something is up and your about to move. He could very possibly calm down when you get settled in at the new place. Could be picking up on your moving house stress??
Jan, how did pat enjoy the feeding?? It is weird though. I thought they were meant to drink quickly too, but alas xavier takes his sweet time with a bottle.
Well our weekend wasn't too bad. Xavier seems to be getting better and better at this sleeping business. He has had heaps of sleep in the last few days (i think the cool weather helps). Xavier has had green poo for most of last week, and it finally looks like it's changing back to a better colour. As soon as it started I dropped the milk (i was a little slower at dropping the chocolate) and finally it's starting to fix.
We are having our jabbs tomorrow so that will be fun.
Xavier had an afternoon with gran yesterday and we got to go to the movies!! Apparently he was a very good little boy and even had a nap for her. So he is welcome back.
Sharing some of the sleep dust I seem to have found somewhere, don't know where, seems to be priceless though.
