Hi everyone
Sara - glad that Kaetlyn's baptism went well. :)
Rebecca - I noticed that around the 8 week mark Diana wasn't feeding as much, i.e. still had the same number of feeds, but wasn't on the breast anywhere near as long...
Veronica - LOL about changing your mind re breastfeeding all the time. I've felt like that at times too, although after about 12 weeks breasfeeding has become so much easier than I imagine bottle feeding would be, so it's probably worth perservering if you can.
Well, Diana has been a grumpy girl this weekend. Yesterday she was inconsolably sooky most of the day. I am hoping that this is simply because she hasn't done a poo in a few days, but last night I saw that she has two teeth clearly visible under her gums in the bottom front. Eeek! Could she be teething this early?? If her mood doesn't improve today I might take her to the doctor tomorrow. She seems otherwise fine, i.e. no temperature or anything, but is just generally not happy. :(

Does anyone want to swap kiddies?!
Mines a right royal pain in the bum.
Wont sleep on his own... EVER!
starting to get over it! lol
I wish he would just be ok, when mum wasnt in the room, instead of screaming his lungs out.
Oh and I wish he would sleep more than 1 hour during the day! I can hear in his cries how tired he is!
Lucky he stops crying when hes near someone, and turns into the happiest vlittle boy around. If i wasn't for the smiles and the laughing we get from him... I would have gone mental by now!
Sorry, I haven't read any posts for a few days... I promise to catch up soon.
hope you are all well.we are in teh middle of moving houses.
Hope to have the rest completed next weekend, as we will start living out at the new place as of the second week of october.
okies, gotta try and keep Lach happy and get the car packed!
bye

Zofia, it could be teeth that is bothering Diana. I have heard of some babies getting them at 3 months and others like Charlize not until much later. I remember Charlize teeth were up and down like a brides nighty until they finally made an appearance around 11 months. They would come so close to breaking the skin and she would be all grumpy and miserable then the next day she would wake up and they are no where to be seen again, very strange. Hope she sleeps well tonight, and good luck at the docs if you go.
Veronica, I still think the fussiness could still be from the mini pill. Have you looked into that? And I agree with Zofia, the first 12 weeks are the hardest, I'd try to hang it out, but there is no shame into switching to formula if that is what would worst best for the two of you. Hope she improves soon.
Nicky, hugs to you hun and lol at baby swapping. Moving with a baby is just so much fun hey? NOT!!!!!! We have to do it again the end of october and I'm definately not looking forward to it. Best of luck and I hope Lachlan improves soon.
Sara, yey on everything going well, can't wait to see pics.
Jem, how did the wedding go? We got back from Stanthorpe around lunch time, it was great to get back there to see family that I haven't seen in awhile, but it's along way to go for just one night.
Big yey for me today, my Aunty gave me a horse saddle that she wasn't using, so I now have my own to use when I visit my sister, can't wait to try it out. We are all well, nothing much on our front.
Hi to everyone else, will take again soon.

V – isn’t it incredible how something as basic as feeding can be so difficult at times. I’m not sure how things are placed in WA, but maybe your MCHN could put you onto a lactation clinic, or even just get an appointment with a lactation consultant? Or the ABA might be able to help (think someone else suggested that as well). But like Rebecca says, the most important way is the way that works for both you & Avaleigh., whatever that might be. Re the cold – I’ve had a pretty nasty one for the last week, but so far no sign that Liam has caught it. I think that your milk gets a fair dose of antibodies in it, which tends to protect bub (but not always).
Zofia –I hope that Diana has become a little happier today for you. The teeth thing sounds a bit interesting – I guess we hope that she’s not teething quite this early and that the grumpiness is just due to the need for a poo
Sara – sounds like you’ve had a great Christening day, which is good, cos you did so much work to pull it all together. Also, don’t think I’ve mentioned this before, but the Christening dress is just beautiful – you a very talented
Nicky – you poor chook, they can do you head in sometimes with all their “dependency” issues! When I’m having tough times, I just try to remind myself that the first 12 weeks are allegedly the hardest, and that they say that the crying is the worst around the 8 week mark, so each day I’m closer to it being a little bit easier. I know my sister’s DS was a crying nightmare for the first 12 weeks, but has subsequently turned into a really cheery and fun kid who doesn’t cry nearly so much, so hopefully there’s some truth in the rumour that they improve.
Mel – yay for the horse saddle, and yay for the horse riding. Not something I’ve done much of (being a city bound chick), but what little bits I have done I loved, so I’m a bit jealous.
Not much else to report from here. We’ve had a strange kind of a day, feels like Liam’s spent most of it being asleep, but he’s had scrappy feeding in between times, so it’s been a little tiring. His feeding was really bad this morning, so I ended up expressing about 110 mls (the alternative was to explode with milk), which became an afternoon feed. It was only the 2nd time he’s had a bottle, and the first time that Pat fed him, so that was pretty cute. Mind you, 110ml direct from me probably takes at least half an hour (combined), but from a bottle took about 2 minutes – amazing how quickly it disappeared.
Anyway, the wake up grunts have begun, best be off before it changes to a yell..

Morning everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. We had a very busy one, with a BBQ at the inlaws on Saturday and yesterday we had visitors. As much as I love having ppl over cooing over Alessia, I just wish they were all done with (we have a massive family and they're taking their sweet time in 'visiting' us!). Plus side is that Alessia gets lots of cute new outfits :)
I'm getting Alessia's hands and feet cast this week - she's also due for her shots. Poor darling, she won't know what hit her!
Anyways, speak of the angel, she's stirring. Talk soon everyone!
-
I knew i was tempting fate by coming on here, she has just stirred and aaron is getting her.
I willl quickly put some photos in the gallery of kaetlyn and her 'dress'
Glad you are all well. it is a public holiday here today

Hi all,
Veronica I hope Avaleigh doesn't get your cold. Breast feeding will help her though, you just make sure you keep your fluids up
Zofia, teeth, my that has gone quickly but she is around 3 months old huh not unusual I believe. Fingers crossed they come through quick and you don't have too many sleepless nights.
Nicki, I'm sure it's just a phase. He might know that something is up and your about to move. He could very possibly calm down when you get settled in at the new place. Could be picking up on your moving house stress??
Jan, how did pat enjoy the feeding?? It is weird though. I thought they were meant to drink quickly too, but alas xavier takes his sweet time with a bottle.
Well our weekend wasn't too bad. Xavier seems to be getting better and better at this sleeping business. He has had heaps of sleep in the last few days (i think the cool weather helps). Xavier has had green poo for most of last week, and it finally looks like it's changing back to a better colour. As soon as it started I dropped the milk (i was a little slower at dropping the chocolate) and finally it's starting to fix.
We are having our jabbs tomorrow so that will be fun.
Xavier had an afternoon with gran yesterday and we got to go to the movies!! Apparently he was a very good little boy and even had a nap for her. So he is welcome back.
Sharing some of the sleep dust I seem to have found somewhere, don't know where, seems to be priceless though.
-
Bec- when we fed Kaetlyn the bottle of EBM she was falling alseep and not even drinking 50mls, so we got a bigger sized teat (now a number 3) and she guzzles the milk. obviously my bb's have a big let down and she wants that from her bottle as well.
-
ooo immunisations!!! Bugger!
I dont wanna take him... he will hate it!!!
lol
ah well... better find someone to come with me.
Hope u are all going well. I have recruited my SIL's to be Lachs human beds so I can get some packing done.
:)

Hi
Sara, maybe I'll try the next size up. I don't think the flow is a problem for him although I will have to buy some soon anyway, he likes to stop and start. Doesn't often fall asleep with a bottle, usually only with a boobie.
Nicki, my mil is on school holidays and is insisting on driving us.

Morning everyone!!
AHHH silly shots!! I still need to take Avaleigh in to get her first ones. I was going to do it last week but she was so unsettled so I let them for this week so I better go in and get them done. I am planning to go in on Friday.
Breastfeeding as been a lot better the past few days. I am not expressing my milk anymore and its make a difference - my boobs feel feel at each feed so maybe the expressing was screwing with my supply??? AF is also gone so maybe that made it different some how too?? Not sure!! But I am happy I didnt give it up. I just love it when Avaleigh smiles at me when she is feeding.
Has anyone gone up in the nappy size yet to, is it, infant?? I am planning to buy the next ones when I finish the last of my newborns. I've found Avaleigh is leaking too much the last few days and is getting red marks around her legs.
We went to Jason's mum's house yesterday for his nephew's 3rd birthday, it was fun except for my cold :( It was amazing to see how small Jason's little sister's baby was compared to Avaleigh. They are a month apart but he looks as small as what Avaleigh did when she was just born!! He did lose a heap of weight in his first 3 weeks because his mum wasnt producing enough milk so is now on formula and is gaining weight. We forgot to take our camera yesterday  wish I could show you the size difference!! Avaleigh was such a good girl yesterday too, she hadnt slept since 11am (we got there at 2pm) and I was worried she would be really unsettled, but nope, she was perfect!!
-
Veronica, glad to hear that Avaleigh has improved. Want to hear something funny, Jack has just grown out the of infant size nappies and is now is crawler, mad hey!! His is just getting so big, Dh is worried it is not normal, but he isn't that big, still on the chart in percentiles.
-
V - that's great the the b/f is working better now. Isn't it amazing the size differences in babies at this age - a week or two can make such a difference, and I reckon you forget just how small ours were until you see a younger bub. And yep - if you're using Huggies, the next size is the Infant size - it's for 4-8kg bubs.
Nicky (and anyone else who's yet to take their bub) - Obviously everyone is different, and I'm definitely not saying that some babies don't have really bad reactions, but sometimes our imaginations are worse than the actual event with regard to the pain that injections will cause. I found that the worst part of the immunisation wasn't so much the injections, because they're over & done with pretty quickly, but the sookiness/slight temp that kicked in after a few hours. I have two words for you - Baby Panadol. Oh, and lots of cuddles, although I think that Lach has those pretty well worked out :)
Nothing much to report here, just waiting for him to finish his sleep, then we'll be off to Mothers group.

Hi girls and bubbas
So much to catch up on!! We are back from Sydney and had a great but VERY busy weekend. Charlotte was such a good girl - she was dragged from one place to the next and wasnt bothered at all. She slept through the entire wedding reception which was great! We are all pretty worn out at the moment so today is a very lazy day!!
V - Glad to hear the breastfeeding it going better. I also found that when I was expressing with Jesse it definitely wreaked havoc with my supply.
Mel - sounds like you had a good weekend and yay on getting the horse saddle. How often do you ride? Wow at Jack going up a size in nappies!!
Jan - how are you enjoying your mothers group?
Sara - sounds like Kaetlyns baptism was a huge success. I am about to go and have a look at the photos of her dress!
Rebecca- sounds like Xavier is the best little sleeper ever! How lucky are you!!
Zofia - how is Diana? Did you end up taking her to the Dr and I I hope she is feeling better
Fran - we had Charlottes feet cast a few weeks ago (we had both boys done as well) and we are about to get some professionals photos done so the feet cast and the photos will both go into a frame when they are all done. They are such a nice momento to have.
Hi to everyone else I hope you are all well.
Not much else is new here. I am having a relaxing day as Oliver and jesse are in child care. Is is so quiet which is just divine!!
I am going to go and have a bit of a rest (YAY) so I will BBL to say hi again!
Take care
Jem

Hi all,
Veronica we switched to infant sized nappies about 2 weeks ago and they are starting to get a bit tight for Xav so I have him in crawlers now. they look big, but nothing leaks out and I find huggies are a bit tighter than the other brands. We tried Woolworth's select brand ones, we have now taken to calling them crappies. But in Aldi brand he is still an infant.
Jemima, glad to hear you had such a good trip.
Well we had our vaccinations done this morning. MIL came with me. But I didn't cry I was a strong mum. Xavier did not like the needles but he stopped crying as soon as I whipped out a boob. Oh the stuff that goes in their mouth is a new one, it's for the rotovirus (sp) Xavier happily swallowed it all. Apparently some babies spit some out etc, but Xavier was sooo hungry when he had his that he was only too willing for something in his mouth.
It has been about 4 hours since he had them and so far no temp. Just checked him. nasty bump on his leg from the needles so I've given him a dose of panadol in case he's in any pain.
I think our huge sleeps are over. We'll see over the next week anyway. Last night he woke at 3.30 for a feed (i shouldn't complain still 7.5 hours strait. I think he was sleeping for a long time to help his tummy. he had green poo for about 5 days (naughty mummy's diet) I had to go cold turkey off milk and all forms of caffeine to get rid of it. We are back to mustard colour. I think the long sleeps was his body's way of trying to fix the problem.
Well Got a little person talking to the telly or something, I should probably go chat seeing as we don't want to sleep this arvo.

Well wasnt as bad as I thought!!
I didnt cry either!! hehe
Lach cried a little. But once we got home afterwards, he was happy and smiling. He had a fantastic feed at about 1pm, where he fell asleep... very unusual!
Had my mothers group from 130 till 330.. and lach slept up until 315 when he started crying in agony.
I wacked him in his sling, and he wasnt too bad after that... Had a snooze with him till 630, and then he had another really good feed... he was vrey fussy though and a little aggressive.
His head was a bit hot, but he didnt register a temp. He sounded in pain, so I gave him some baby panadol, which I think worled a treat. Hes a little unsetteled now, but hopefully he will sleep well.
He also got the red lump only on teh leg that had the 2 injections though.
Well, theres something else over with! lol
Lachs growth has slowed down.. I think... ALthough he seems to be getting longer and longer.. at this rate, the 00 body suts ill be grown out of at 4 months at the latest.. eek!!
lol
Hes still very fussy, and sleep is not his strength, but when he starts giggling at me... oh I get teary! He has also started to just smile on his own, rather than if someone is smiling at him adn him copying. He was looking around the room this morning, smiling.
I still have 10 days till I get my portraits back and I can't wait! The pics are absolutely gorgeous! hehe.. they would want to be for the amount I spent!!
Rebecca - I think I saw you today.... Green top?? hehe I sound like a stalker!
lol
well hi to everyone. I have been very lazy, and still havent really read the last few posts.
Hope you and your bubbas are all going really really well!!
hugs

Well I think Avaleigh has gotten my cold :( She was a little snuffley this morning after our morning walk so we went out and got some baby panadol and some dinatapp that is meant to be good for nasal congestion. It cleared away but then she woke up balling her eyes out at about 8pm and she couldnt breath through her nose :( She gave the biggest sneeze and all snot came out - nice huh! LOL So I gave her some dinatapp and cuddled her for a little while and now she is in her bed. I've put her monitor in her bed so I can here if her snuffling gets too bad. I am prepared to be up all night but I hope not!!
So I guess Avaleigh injections will be put on hold for another week.
Oh and I've decided to stop the mini pill tomorrow and see if Avaleigh gets better at feeding. She's been throwing up a lot of milk since starting it so I am guessing the taste has changed. I was saying to Jason that when we DTD we will just use condoms.
Anyway, might try and get some sleep. I hope Avaleigh wakes up better in the morning.
