I hope so. I also really like the two girls.
DH leaves on the 23rd of November and gets back Christmas Eve. I don't know how I'm going to do it. I'm also not looking forward to being in the new big house all alone with the kiddies straight away. I'm hoping mum might come and stay with us for a few nights.
Ummmmm chocolate you made me think of it now, and I have a craving for a Crunchie, ummmmm crunchie, damm it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been so good lately, only 3kg to go until I'm back at Jacks pre pregnancy weight but still 6kg to go until I'm back to my original weight before kids, do you think we will ever be the same????
And I'm curious have you thought, that it was around this time after Jesse and Charlize was born that we conceived Jack and Charlotte, makes me sad in a way. I really miss being pregnant at times, especially when I read the threads from mothers who are due now. I love the excitement of lpre labour and labour itself, makes me want to be a doula or something.
-
Mmmmmmm Crunchie - thats just what I fee like!! Well done on your weight loss. I have about 4 kilos to go to get back to what I was prior to being pregnant and about 6 to go to get back to my original weight but like you wonder if I will ever get back there!! Although I am not too worried as I havent really done full on exercise yet so I really have to get my butt into gear if I want to lose these last few kilos - oh and stop eating chocolate!!
I hope your mum is able to stay with you for a while - it definitely helps to have someone else around to share the load.
OMG you are right that this is about the time we conceived Jack and Charlotte - amazing. Gee I had better hurry you and get that Mirena put in LOL!! Like you I also miss being pregnant - it is a pretty special feeling isnt it and I miss the build up to labour and meeting a new baby for the first time but there definitelywont be anymore for us. I have also thought about becoming a doula or studying midwifery but I have decided to hold off on the study for the time being as life is already so busy but it is definitely something I will look at down the track.
Mmmmmm I am still craving an crunchie.

HI MUMS:)
Hope you all had a nice beginning to your week. I nearly went crazy today as it started raining at 6.30 lastnight and is still going, not a break so far!! Its great to be getting some rain, but i had to stay indoors all day! Ethan will only catnap during the day but if i feed him and pop him in the pram and we go for a walk he will sleep for 1hr, didnt happen today! Oh and the new blue metal stones that DH had put on the drive way last time he was home are floating:D
OK before i do personals...
Jem and Mel, after reading your posts i too am now craving chocolate:doh: And crunchies are one of my favourites!!
Jem- Until i read your post i had forgotten idol was on!! So thanks cos i just missed it. I didnt want Jacob to go either.
personals..
Veronica- Sorry to hear about your dog taking himself off for a walk in the middle of the night. Hope he is back home now. Did you end up going out for some family time? if you did i hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
Bec- Hugs hun. Sorry that you have the cold, hope the soup helped you. Oh dear @ xavier deciding to have 2.30am feeds again, hopefully its just a phase and will pass soon. I cant get ethan to sleep once the suns up either, I have been trying to put him to bed a little bit later as he wakes up later then, this morning though it was still dark cos of the rainy weather so i got him back into bed for an extra hour, not that i got to go back to bed though as the phone wouldnt stop ringing!!
Alisa:)- thought i would use your name!! Its great that olivia is going well. When Ethan refused the breast and had to go to ff i was sad too and guess what...my dh gave me a bourbon too lol
Jem- hope you have a better day tomorrow. I know how you feel hun, my DH works away 2wks at a time and he went back to work when ethan was 9 days old, it was so hard and i still have some real tough ones, Considering you have 3 children to my one your doing fantastically, and your a great mum. I dont know how i will cope when we have the next bub's as DH will be in the same job for a few more years yet, but i will cross that bridge when it happens!
Mel- Glad to hear that Charlize is healthy, thats great. WOW @ jacks growth!! He's a gorgous big bub:) Hope everything goes ok with the Dr re your netball injuries, i was big on my netball too until i had a fall and did some damage to my knee and ankles, my dr told me if i want to keep playing do so at my own risk, but he strongly advised me not to as it would end up resulting in surgery, so haven't played since, except for messing around with my sisters. I too hope your mum will be able to stay with you while DH is away, it would help you out heaps.
As for things at my house, I think my little man has definately decided he likes to sleep and my thoughts on that 'Woo Hoo about time' lol, he slept for 10hrs on fri and sat night and 8.5hrs lastnight, it was great, he is an early riser though but i cant complain as atleast im getting some sleep.
I have to leave it here for now as ethan must have known i was talking about him and is trying to get my attention, so its feed time and in bed for hopefully another big sleep.
Goodnight ladies

Mel and Jemima- funny that you both had your bubs in the same months... twice!!! I think that both of you had keep your legs crossed!!! dont want it to happen for a third time!!! boy that wold be hard work three under three.
Mel- mon nights netball is outside and thurs is inside (i have never played indoor netball so should be interesting). I didnt start playing till two years ago! My mum and dad belived that I was better off learning how to cook, sew, clean etc rather than sports. I went to girl guides and sewing school instead!!
Luckily clumsy me has only ever done one injury and that was a broken finger in three places, in the grand final (first center pass of the game). but i played on.... and we lost :(
Hope all goes well at the appointment on the foot. fingers crossed he has a solution for you that doesnt involve an operation- that would put you out of action for quite a while.
well i am off to bed, aetlyn is finally sound asleep  and have minished my reasearch on making cloth nappies:doh: i seem to have caught my sewing bug back (or for the first time in over three years I seem to have some remotly free time)!
Night all
xoxo
(although i think you are all in bed anyway!!!)

LOL at the bourbon...good to see there are some bourbon chicks here :) And yesteday I had lunch with MIL and her friends and had a nice glass of champers!! That was delicious too :)
Chocolate ARGGHH!! Defianately getting one with my shopping this arvo, as well as a latte and gingerbread man from Gosh Coffee hehehe
Mel - I probably could have another Vaginal birth, but I think its left me so traumatized I don't want another one IYKWIM? They have said that I can choose to have a C-Section so will see how we go. I am a bit worried (TMI coming) but each time I do No. 2's it hurts a little and when I had a look it looks to be what could be scar tissue....so will see how it goes but I just hope I dont have to get that burnt off too!! X fingrers. But I am slowly feeling better, still a lot of discharge though, not blood....its giving me the irrates though as I am over wearing a pad!
Olivia is sleeping the same on FF then she did with bm, so we are just lucky I think :)
So want my chocolate now!!! Have to be careful with my wait now that I am not expressing...I lost SO much expressing...I am way below my pre-pregnancy weight.
Olivia is doing well, but waiting for her to giggle, any babies giggling yet? She had a tiny one the other day. I call her silent laughing as she looks like she is laughing just nothing coming out!! She is talking SO much now and she when she is sitting on me, she looks to be using her stomach muscles to sit up? Is that right??
Lis xx

Hi girls, just a quick check in as we will soon be on our way out. I hope you are all doing fabulously...all this talk of chocolate has now made me want some too! Alessia is doing well...had a 9 hour sleep the other night but then decided to only have a 4.5 hour one last night *ugh* So I am feeling just shocking! Positive thing though is that she's very vocal at the moment, chattering and gurgling away...it's so darn cute! Take care everyone!

Hi all
Feeling much better today - could be because Oliver and Jesse are in childcare and I only have Charlotte at home LOL! No its all good and we will be fine I was just having a bit of a stress moment last night and I know we will be fine with DH away - busy but fine!!
Well I am still craving chocolate - will definitely have to have some today!!
Hi Flossie I mean Alisa!!- great to her from you. Sounds Like Olivia is doing really well and it doesnt sound like it will be long before she is giggling. Charlotte has started giggling and she seems to giggle the most when Oliver or Jesse are talking/playing with her. It is very cute to see!!
Fran - urgh at the 4.5hr sleep but I am sure Alessia will be back to her long sleeps before you know it.
Mel - have you had your chocolate fix yet? Wow at charlize swimming - she sounds like a real water baby!! We did swimming with Oliver for about a yer and I want to do it with Jesse and Charlotte but I dont know how I will manage it with DH away so much. We are getting a pool within the next couple of years so we need them to be swimming or have some idea of how to before then. Good luck with the foot specialist. Let us know how you go.
Sounds like we should have a July mummys netball team - too bad we dont all live in the same state. I used to play a lot as well but it just became too hard to keep it up with work and babies. I miss it though and will fill in for a team occassionally next winter.
Sara - I will definitely be keeping my legs crossed. Charlotte was a surprise so we dont want another surprise - three in less than three years is more than enough for me!! How did your research into cloth nappy making go? Are you using cloth nappies now? I have been usuing them occassionally with Charlotte but have to admit I am finding it all a bit daunting - so many choices and so much info out there.
Tears of joy - I am so happy fpr you that Ethan is sleeping well now. Sounds like you did it really tough for a while so a big YAY to Ethan!! I hear you on how tough it is doing the mummy thing on your own - we will all have to support each other - Mels DH is away a bit as well.
V - has your dog returned yet?
Rebecca- hope you are feeling OK and the chicken soup helped.
Well I am going to go and clean the house while Charlotte is sleeping. Will BBL to see what is going on.
take care
Jem

Morning Everyone!!!
I hope all is well and I will read back on the posts when I have a bit of time. Time is so precious these days when babies are sleeping I think!! I am trying to get all the washing done, have breakfast, wash my hair and vacuum the floors before Avaleigh wakes up! HAHA Yeh right.
To all that asked, YES our dog returned!! We got a phone call about 10am on Sunday from the ranger. Jason's dog was caught outside his old house where they lived nearly 5 years ago!! The ranger gave us a warning and said if it happens again we will get fined :( Jason thinks that he is trying to find where his brother and dog is living so we took a walk to there when he came home. We also think he had a bit of a run in with a cat!! He has scratches on his nose...
So it meant that we could have our family day!! And it felt good to be out as a family, I actually think it was our first family outing and now that the weather is nice I am going to make sure we do it more often. I think next time we will go out for a picnic so I need to get a picnic blanket!!
Anyways, breakfast is finished so better go wash my hair.
BBL to read all the posts :)

Hi all,
wow lots of posts to catch up on today
Floss, I think my local places won't let you start swimming lessons till 6 months, so that put us in Feb. I've already told DH he gets to do them. (I'm not a big swimmer) Besides it's a good father son activity I think.
Jemima, I think you are a champ to be able to cope as well as you are. I only ave one and sometimes i'm going metal by the end of the day. You are so allowed to have a vent, and if I could email chocolate you would have some by now.
Mel sleep did a wonderful thing. Now if only I can get a few days of it I think I'll be good. He did sleep through till 5 am and then went back for another 3.5 hours. Thankfully. I think he may have whatever I have though which is affecting his sleep. 'Cause he is coughing a little. I have had a sore throat on and off, so that could be causing him some discomfort too, but I don't know 'cause he can't tell me. but heaps of pooey and wet nappies, keeping feeds down and smiling, so I'm not too worried about him. I'll have to watch out for those nappies. Xavier isn't big and yet huggies crawlers fit really well.
Ladies, your starting to make me miss being pregnant again. I loved it, and in retrospect even that very long last couple of weeks. Well i'm at number one, I can look forward to the next one.
Jesikah, I can't wait until daylight savings switches over for us and we get some dark mornings again. but I'm hoping the bad sleep was just due to a slightly buggered routine, and possibly a little discomfort for Xavier.
Sara, where did you find free time? Can I have some. As soon as I get a second it is filled with eating/sleeping/cleaning or staring at the tv in a vegetated state 'cause I'm tired.
Veronica, I know what you mean about trying to get everything done while they are sleeping. But I never know if it will be 15min power nap or an hour during the day. I'm up to 45 mins at them moment but i've heard cooing coming from his room, he may just be laying there, but at least he's not crying.
Well I'm starting to feel better, thanks to all those who asked. I think Xavier may have it too, as he has been doing some coughing. this is a scratchy throat, coughing, and headache cold. not much of a sinus thing at all. He let me have a good sleep last night, unfortunately Nathan was snoring heaps and woke me up, but my lil man went back to sleep till 9am and let me sleep in, bless him, so feeling much better now.
Well my mum is bringing me a naughty meal of maccas for lunch, and will be here soon, and the man sounds like he is waking up, so I'll catch you all later
take care

I have just partly satified my chocolate craving. I just ate a chocolate mint pattie - you know the ones in the green wrappers. I wanted to get a crunchie but thought I had better go the low fat option and although it tasted great I am still wanting more!!!
-
Hi everyone,
Jem, that must suck re: DH being away! feel free to vent we are here to listen (or read)
V, Glad your dog came home, it's amazing how dogs find their way to old houses!
about swimming lessons, I wolujld love to do this and have had it in mind but I haven't actually made any calls or anything.
Jem & Mel, Just wondering what your experienced have been having kids so close together. Dh and I were planning on having our kids 2 years apart but we are both kind of entertaining the idea of trying for another one a lot sooner than that, we keep going back and forth..and as i settle into motherhood and forget about missing pregnancy I start to think I could wait longer but basically just wondering what you guys think are the good and/or bad things about having kids so close together?!
-
Hi Jas
I think there are pros and cons for having children close together.
There is a month under three years between Oliver, Jesse and Charlotte. I like the idea of them growing up together and playing together and as they get older having similar friends and being able to take the two boys for instance to the same sports eg they might be in the same teams. It also means that within a very short space of time each of them will start school. This means that I can focus a little more on me and get back into career mode (of course while still keeping the kids as a priority) within a short space of time rather than having big gaps between the kids starting school.
DH has four siblings and he was four years old when his mum had number four and five (twins) so there were five children four years and under!! AHHHH - now thats scary. Anyway he is really close to all his siblings and as I said they are all close in age and are now all having children themselves which means our kids have lots of cousins of a similar age to them. Lots of people to play with.
What I can tell you is that it is bl@@dy hard work having them so close together in age and I worry that I am not giving each of them enough quality time. It means minimal me time (like non existent at the moment) but thats OK.
I love them all desperately and am glad they are close in age and Oliver and Jesse are starting to play together and it is so cute to watch them start to interact. I am sure they will have some doozy fights over the years but it is so nice watching them together.
I am sure Mel will have more to add. Good luck with your decision. Hehehehe - have an accident like I did with Charlotte and the decision will be taken out of your hands LOL!!!
take care

Jas,
Jem pretty much has said it all. I agree with the pros and cons she has mentioned. I also have another pro though, even though it might sound selfish. But now that we have the family we wanted, I can look forward to getting my body back into shape and know it's not going to be stretched and swollen again, well not from babies anyway.
But my biggest concern is like Jem said, that I'm not going to be able to spend enough quality time with each of them. But then I stop to think, it wouldn't be much different unless there is a big age gap, when the oldest is at school, then you would have enough time with each one. But then they wouldn't be as close, and grow up together. So either way there are pros and cons.
We tried to have ours so close and I woudn't change it for the world. Charlee is just starting to play with Jack, even if he doesn't like it, but it is so cute to watch. We are planning to have them is the same room when they are a little older too, to try and encourage their bond.
My DH is also 1 of 5, with only 5 years between him and his younger brother. And he has great relationships with all of his brothers and sister. So, I'm a lover of small age gaps. But good luck with your decision. I can't wait to one of you to get pregnant again, I miss the excitement of it.
-
BTW Jem, has Charlotte exploded yet? Jack had a doosy this morning. Had to bath him, it was everywhere. But it was so cute afterwards, Charlize helped me dress him, she loved it.
-
Oh, and I still haven't fulfilled my choc craving. I'm hanging out for a crunchie, ummmmmm crunchie.
-
Charlotte has exploded and it was so gross!! But she was much more settled after ridding herself of it!! How cute that Charlize was helping you dress Jack.
Ditto on still craving chocolate. I knew I should have gotten some more today (the mint pattie I had just didnt cut it) - oh well at least the waist line will be thanking me for not over indulging!!

Quick 'Hi'
Just wanted to say a quick hello and introduce myself. My daughter was born 6th July by emergency CS. I must admit to lurking for a while - you all seem to have been members a long time, so I hope you don't mind if I drop in for a chat now and then. :hello:
