It's very exciting when your baby learns to roll over, way to go Cammi! Zeke's working on mastering that now, he rolls back to side, and tummy to back, but hasn't linked the two just yet. He also shoves everything in his mouth!

I thought I might have a sneak peak at what my ol belly buddies were doing and it seems pretty quiet on the June 1st-15th front except for a couple of newbies! Hi Skye and Mirandabelle, I had to make the jump to the 15th-30th thread after my DS decided to be fashionably late! I love both bubs' names! May just add Cammi to the list for bub #2 hehehe!
Cooper (my DS) has rolled over 4 times and I am yet to actually see it! I walk back into the room and there he is on his back when I left him on his tummy! My DP works away (28 on 9 off) so I try to capture as many milestones as possible for him to see when he gets home. Thing is Cooper doesn't like doing it while I have the camera on, lil bugger! Like Zeke he puts everything in his mouth including both fists at the same time, triggering his gag reflex which inturn results in him vomiting - i joke that because i constantly call him a Fatty Boom Baa Baby he has developed bulemia (sp?) And apparently the apple doesn't fall far from the tree cause he has two teeth already - I had 4@4 months, 8@8 months, etc.. Overall he is a pretty cruisey bub - I honestly think he is going easy on me seeing as DP is away so often. He sleeps through from 8-6 and although he isn't keen on huge sleeps during the day he is rarely cranky (expect for when those darn teeth were giving him curry) just content on having tummy time, hanging out in his rocker or getting round with me in our hug-a-bug!
Love talking about him - can you tell HAHAHA
May drop by from time to time - take care mummas!!
Tan :)
Hi there Tan! Cooper sounds gorgeous, like he has a lot of personality, and sleeps wonderfully at night - lucky you! Fortunately Zeke hasn't made himself gag so much he's vomited everywhere yet, just coughed and spluttered a bit. If only it was as simple as explaining to them that shoving both fists down their throat doesn't help!
Zeke's doing great lately - he slept nearly 6 hours in his bassinette alone last night, I hope he keeps it up, and I can replicate whatever it was that got him to do that tonight! Fingers crossed...
hello tan,
pop in say hello cooper was born close enough anyway, more the merrier...
i finally seen cammi roll over now she is doing it all the time, she just wont do it when i get the camera out (rat bag)..i think cammi might be teething she has been crying all the time and has been chewing on her hands alot too and has had rosey cheeks it has been a nightmare the past week, she hasn't made herself gag and vomit yet... thankfully well have to go cause cammi just started sceaming again be back later...
Oh CJ is a good one or sticking his fingers down his throat and chucking up! Good to know I am not alone in going through 6 outfits (for both him and me) every day!!!
It is so hard now that they are starting to want to move... I cant take my hand of his tummy on the change mat, as he wants to roll over or move!
Miranda - Hope you get more good sleep tonight :crossfingers:
Skye - Poor cammi... hope she is doing ok... I am NOT looking forward to teething....
Skye... sounds like teething to me, but from what I've heard babies can 'teethe' for quite some time before the tooth actually shows. Fingers crossed she'll have them sooner rather than later. Hoping you get some of those rolls on camera soon - babies seem to know just when you want to take a pic and stop whatever they're doing right away.
Ruf - I just change Zeke on the floor now, so that he can kick and roll around as much as he wants. Makes me feel safer, and means he has a bit of fun too.
We stayed at a friend's house last night, and as usual, my performance baby was brilliant - went down after a feed at 9, woke for business-only feeds then straight back to sleep at 1, 4, 6 and up for the day at 8. Think I need to stay at other people's houses more often!
Hello Ladies
Lovely to read all the posts and see where everyone is and what your babes are doing. Aren't we all lucky to have such bright little characters in our lives??
Nate is also rolling, dribbling lots, still trying to figure out how to get a fist in his mouth and sleeping very well.
I too am dreading moving him from his bassinet into his cot. He doesn't sleep with us but having had him next to me for three and a half months makes it hard to put him in his own room. I also think I'm a sook for my pretty boy. I love how even when he's in someone else's arms he gazes at me like he's in love....:heartbeat:
Kim, I couldn't agree more! I don't think there's a day where I don't think how lucky I am to have such a beautiful, happy, smart little boy!
We're making do with the bassinette for now... still too chicken to try the portable cot. (We haven't got our big cot from my aunty yet) but another few weeks and we can't use it anymore. He's starting to try and sit himself up, not to mention rapidly getting too tall!
We tried our first taste of solids this evening too - was an interesting and messy procedure! My little boy is growing up too quickly!
isnt it exciting giving them their first solid foods!!ive been giving cammi solids for nearly 2 weeks now she just seemed like she was hungry all the time, she loves it makes a mess thou..i was wondering should i be giving her water now that she is on solids she doesn't eat heaps but is still always on the boob of a day the doc didn't mention it????im hoping she gets some teeth soon and doesn't take ages for them to come through!!!
i can't believe how quick they grow its amazing..
i couldn't imagine putting cammi in her own room its good to have her close pitty she wouldn't sleep in her bassinette thou its so easy of a night i dont have to get up..good luck on that one ladies..
I would imagine that breast milk would be enough to satisfy Cammi's thirst, Skye. Unless you want her off the breast, giving her water would decrease your supply.
Well, I took the plunge today and am currently moving the bassinet OUT and the cot IN. Nate is too tall for the bassinet and it rocks so much if he gets too upset that he's obviously too big for it. I'm brining the cot in as he still wakes overnight. (Yeah right, I just can't bear to leave him alone in that big room!!)
It's my eldests birthday today too so Nate had better get ready for lots of hugs from visitors!!!
Better go, he's giving me that look again...:heartbeat:
Wow lots happened since i was last here.
I think it was Taegan and Skye, we all have June 15th baby's YAY:dance:
Well we've had a few issues weight wise with Lilli. Bascially she was really good then just stoped gaining weight for a whole month, however, after changing bottles and formula we are back on:clap: I had her weighed teh other day, and shes finally 5.5kg:lol: Oh im so happy now. Oh the whole teething thing, i forgot all about that. That was until the other wk of course. She has two teeth sitting on her bottom gums that flare right up, then they go. Poor little thing, it must be so painful for her.
Well will be back more regular from now on,
RACH
hi ladies
sorry havent posted been really busy it was dp birthday and cammi has been sick, she is getting better now.i finally got cammi on camera rolling over yay!!!:clap:so hows everyones babes going?its my 20th birthday on tuesday yay no-one can call me a teenager anymore....
rach-yes cammi was born on the 15th..lol lilli is gorgeous, hope that lilli keeps putting on weight, cammi put on weight from day dot she now weighs 6.5kgs..
:happybirthday: Skye!! Hope you have a great day.
Nate has taken a few days to settle into his cot but is slowly getting there, sleeping more and more. I tried him on baby rice yesterday and he loved it. Then I panicked thinking that my milk supply will decrease if I start him on food so I'm not doing it again for a while. Nate is the first of my children that I've actually loved b/fing so I'm not in a hurry for it to end.
Hope all the mums and babes are well.
thanks hotkim,i give cammi solids and she loves it but much prefers the boob i was worried about the same thing but she still feeds all the time i am dreading when she fully starts solids i love b/f....
yay for nate being in his cot...
Rach, very glad to hear Lilli is growing again, it's always worrying when they don't put on much/any weight! Zeke's a slow grower and I'm always trying to make sure he has an extra feed to help him stack on the kilos!
Skye - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a fantastic day, and that dp spoils you rotten!
Kim, awesome that Nate is starting to sleep well on his own, we are still some ways away from that with Zeke.
thanks miranda, had a really good day..
cammi has been sick the past week so i haven't posted for awhile, but she is better now.
i got cammi weighed yesterday and she is 7.5kg and 64cm she put on 1kg in 4 weeks and grew 7cm..
hope everyone is going well....
Wow! Cammi is growing well! I don't think Zeke is quite that big yet, but he should be weighed next week. Have any teeth shown up yet?
The warmer weather is starting to be a problem already. Zeke gets too hot when he is swaddled, but can't sleep without it. It was 1am before he went to sleep, and 5am before he really slept well... blah! Tired Miranda today.
i didnt think she was so big!no teeth yet but has little white lumps hopefully soon..
i know what you mean about the weather cammi practicly sleeps on me and sweats alot we get a good sleep around 5am till 9am,we are considering air cond this year
cammi has her needles tomorrow i hate doing it,poor thing
Skye - if we weren't renting we would have had air-con by now! Last summer and being pregnant was too much to bear! I'm planning any future kids so I'm not 2nd or 3rd trimester in the heat of summer again! It's cooler here tonight, and Zeke is out to it... I hope the same can be said for you & Cammi.
Good luck with the shots, it's never easy... but a bit of TLC goes a long way when it comes to helping your little one feel ok again. Zeke had his this week and was an absolute trooper, he only yelled when the first one went in, then nothing... the second one didn't even make him wince! I hope it goes as smoothly for you too.
hello all
Nate has started on solids, a decision brought about by my starting to exercise and watch my weight more carefully. When I did that with number three (the weight gets harder to lose with each one) my milk dried up and I was forced to stop b/f'ing. :( He has taken to baby rice really well eating a plate full at dinner time. I thought it may help him sleep longer but nothing definitive yet. I had him weighed the other day, after his jabs, and he is 7kg or about 15 lb 7 oz. He's still a little poppet!
The heat hasn't quite started in Queensland yet though so we'll have to wait and see how that affects him. We don't have air-con, though the house is insulated.
Hi everyone! I just found this group and thought I would join in! It's interesting to hear how the babies are developing and what milestones they are reaching at around the same time!!
My little boy Taj was born on June 11th weighing 3.69kg. He is now 6kg exactly (at his 4 month check up) He is breast feed and I thought he would weigh more than that by now but apparently he is average!
He was born with a cleft lip(we found out at our 20 week scan) and will require surgery probably at around 6 months....Do you think I should be starting him on solids soon to chub him up a bit cos I think he will loose some weight once he is operated on!
My DH and I aren't sure as we get conflicting advice..he is too young etc....
How many of you guys have started solids? I'm very confused!!!
Hi everyone!
I'm new to the site and Australia and my gorgeous little bub was born on 9th June. Her name is Freyja and we're currently going through the process of getting used to her first solids (she loves them!), the mystery of where he dummy could possibly have gone (in my bedside drawer) and attempting to get her to enjoy tummy time (god does she scream!).
Anyone had any luck with the tummy time yet? Freyja loves to sit up and also stand (we only need to let her hold our fingers and she does the rest), but I cannot get her to play on her tummy. I would love to have her crawling, although I might regret that once she does, and I would also love for her not to have a flat baby head with a bald patch.
She had such lovely thick hair and now it's all wearing thin :(
:hello: Leesha and :welcome:! Starting solids can be exciting. I think it's best to be guided by your baby. So if Taj is staring at you intently when you eat, maybe if he seems dissatisfied after a full breastfeed, you could try him on some baby rice or mashed veg. Just try and gauge how much he's interested and go by what you think he wants. Good luck with solids and I hope everything goes well for his op. Has b/f'ing been difficult for you with Taj's cleft lip?
:hello: and :welcome: to littlepig too! So where have you travelled from? I have a sister named Fraya, I love the name.
Nate has slept on his tummy since he was about 5 weeks old. I know it's 'naughty' but all my kids have slept on their tummy although I did start each of them on their backs or sides. So, he's used to tummy time. To make it interesting you could lay different toys on the ground for her to look at and reach for. For a physio exercise I used to lay my other son on a pillow sham (the cylinder type) and roll him back and forth to help strengthen his muscles. You could try that too or just lay on your tummy infront of her and talk to her and show her it's ok. Have you put her on her tummy in the bath? I use my hand to hold Nate by the chin (fingers open so water doesn't pool) and keep another hand under his belly just in case. My eldest and my second eldest loved it.
I think the recommendation for flattening heads is to alternate the sides they sllep on. You can encourage Freyja to sleep on the side of her head by putting interesting toys even a mirror on the sides on the cot (securely) and alternating the sides you put them on. Or just switch her to either end of the mattress if she enjoys looking out of one side.
Nate, like all of his siblings, will also be a baldy baby. Nothing much to do about it as it falls out even on the cots sheets. :babyboy:
Look forward to hearing more from you both!!
miranda-the needles went ok..she is just sleeping and feeding alot and wants lots of cuddles...the heat is horrible when your pg..cammi has just learnt how to suck her thumb properly she has her dummy but is starting to like her thumb more and more...
we have had a few cooler nights thankfully last night we went to bed around 10 and we got up at 5:30 yay...
hotkim-i have cammi on solids she is eating heaps but still b/f alot,i think she just loves the boob to much...ive been really slack on exercizing i walk alot thou i lost alot of weight pretty quick which was lucky....
leesha-hello and welcome,i started cammi on solids at around 3 1/2 months she kept trying to grab at my food and would watch me when i ate and would put fingers in her mouth i asked the doctor and he said it would be fine...hope the op goes well and goodluck..
littlepig-hello and welcome, cammi is ok with tummy time at first i put her on my chest and she loved it when she rolls over to her tummy she will only stay there a short time before she gets cranky..her hair is starting to grow really fast on the back of herhead its justshorter than the rest of her hair.....
Welcome to our two new members, great to 'see' some new mums here!
leesha - Zeke may need surgery to correct his skull plates when he is around 12-15mo, and they told me the heavier and stronger he is if/when the op goes ahead, the better, so solids may be an option for Taj around now. He's just old enough to start eating, but may not be interested yet... the signs Kim mentioned are great indications.
littlepig - Tummy time can take getting used to... putting Zeke on his tummy on my chest was the only thing that worked for some weeks. Getting down on your babies level and chatting to them really helps!
Hot kim- I can't breatsfeed so I express every 6 hours...lots of milk there!! I have been expressing for 19 weeks now! He can suck great but can't quite get a seal round the nipple properly!
He feeds from a bottle but it's breast milk so thats the best thing I can do for him! This week I started putting farax in his night bottle?(6pm) not to make him sleep longer but to fill him up a bit more but I havn't noticed anything different!
He is 5months old next week so i think I might start him on solids then and see how he goes!!!
skye - Nate has also started to suck his thumb...or anything else that gets within range! He's been trying for weeks and seems to have worked out his thumb finally! He loves putting both thumbs in and having agood chew! He was really good with his needles, a few tears then eat and sleep. He seems to enjoy solids but I can't be sure if it's the food he likes having in his mouth or the spoon! He breastfeeds before and after eating but sleeps pretty good.
leesha - you're doing a great job expressing for so long. I've tried it once and hated it so I can't imagine doing it for 19 weeks. Well done!
Thank you for the welcome everyone :D
Kim - we've moved here from the UK and love it. Freyja was the only girls name I really liked and we went with the norse spelling just to confuse everyone - it's worked so far! ;)
We always place toys just within her reach to distract her and she usually plays with them for about 5 mins before screaming. We do have a windup merry-go-round toy in her cot with her, which she turns her head to look at, and her music/night light on the bars. She does sleep with her head to the side, but you'[re right about hair on the sheets!
Never tried it in the bath though, so might give it ago as she does love the water.
Skye & Miranda, we've tried laying with her and talking to her to distract her, or placing her on our chests, but she still only gets to 5 mins. Also tried her in front of the picture window and with the tv on (bad I know!), but nothing works.
I got worried the other day when I got a slight telling off by the MCHN for not putting her on her tummy. Especially when she told me she would need to learn to crawl before she could sit up.
But she already can sit almost and loves to stand with just holding our fingers, we don't support her, so maybe she will skip crawling?
Hi Leesha - Freyja has tried solids at 4 1/2 months and loves them. She was watching us eat for ages and today had some of my ice lolly because she couldn't stand to see me having it all myself! I've stopped her solid intake for the mo as I'm trying to get her fully back on the boob again, but will definitely let her have more in a couple of weeks :D
littlepig, it sounds to me like Frejya is on her own schedule with tummy-time, and there's not much you can do about it! LOL, give her what time she enjoys, she'll gradually increase it when she's ready, don't stress or force the issue. I'm not sure about the sitting/crawling link, most of the babies I know sat before they crawled, but I'm not a professional, and every baby is individual, so if you're worried, obviously speak to another dr/nurse.
leesha - way to go on the pumping! My boobs refuse to pump when I'm using the hand one, I know it works and everything, but I just will not let down, no matter how many milky thoughts I think. I have to hand-express (I don't have an electric, which works like a charm, but v.expensive to hire/buy given how infrequently I would use it) if I want to leave milk for Zeke.
The heat is killing us already! Zeke struggles to sleep w/out a swaddle, but gets overheated in even the lightest wrap we have an only a nappy underneath... I am v. sleep deprived at present... off to bed now!
Yeah, I always thought that babies would sit first and then crawl, but my nephew is 10 months now and still refusing to sit. He crawls and pulls himself up on things though. I think it's because he spent more time playing on his own on the floor than Feyja has, as we've also tended to play with her and dance, have her stand so she can wiggle or sit and bounce on our knees so we could sing to her :D
Leesha - I hadn't noticed that you've been expressing for so long! well done!! I can hand express and use a manual pump, but the pump is to much more powerful and painful so I don't use it. Not sure I would have been as dedicated as you! Freyja had formula for a month as I all but lost my milk after having a cold and is just now back fully on the boob again. She had been having solids, but I stopped them for the past week until I got my milk up fully - she'll get back on them next week as she was ready for a long time before I let her try it.
In the UK as well, they say baby doesn't need anything but milk for 6 months however they tell you to look out for the signs that they are ready to have solids as all babies are different. Also, I got a leaflet from the MCHN when I took Freyja for her first appointment and it says if you miss the signs that they are ready to start solids, then you could have probs with them once you do try! You're right, very, very confusing so best to do what you are happy with.
Oh, as for putting feed in their bottles, I'm sure my mum used to do it but when you read the litreature re: b/f and introducing solids etc, they say that you shouldn't put stuff in their milk. If they need more milk, they'll take more, but putting stuff in their bottles is bad for their teeth. That's also why you should get them off bottles by 12 months and onto cups because even water from a bottle can be bad for their teeth apparently.
I'm not a dentist, but it kinda makes sense and I don't want to take the risk. Teething is bad enough, not sure I can cope with toothache in a child!!
So, I'd suggest that you just put a little rice on a spoon for him and try that. Get a soft, shallow baby spoon to protect his little gums and just try tiny little bits at first until he works out how to swallow. Freyja took ages as she wanted to suck everything that went in her mouth or tried to use her tongue to make it go stiff (she doesn't understand it's not my boob!), which meant she pushed more out than she ate. Very messy, but fun.
MCHN told me 2-3 tablespoons of solids per day at 4 months is enough because she should still be feeding on milk mainly, however I think what Miranda said about Zeke is right to a degree - the bigger and healthier babies are the better they cope with recovery from ops. Though as long as your little Taj isn't underweight, he will be fine.
When does he have his op?
Just wanted to let you all know that Freyja is now a bit happier on her front. She's had lots of tummy time and can stay there for about 10 mins now without getting too grumpy - possibly because I distract her by going 'Wooo! Yeah!! Well done Freyja!' and clapping every couple of minutes. Seems to be working though. :D
She's also sleeping better at night and during the day than she did up to Monday, which is great news for me!! Lets hope it continues
Hope you're all doing okay and thanks for the encouragement to keep trying her on her tummy - she def does have her own agenda :)
hello everyone,
sorry i have been slack at posting cammi has just been cranky after her needles and now she has a rash all over her hoping its just a sweat rash.
leesha-congrats on expressing for so long your very brave..have you tried to give taj solids yet?
littlepig-yay for frayja..i clap and sing when she starts to get cranky it distracts her for a little bit..cammi also stands holding our fingers she gets cranky if we dont do it..
everytime i put cammi on her back she always rolls over and throws up everytime when on her belly has anyone else had this prob?
miranda-is zeke sleeping any better for you?i am dreading when its full on hot day after day..
hotkim-cammi loves solids she gets upset when i take it away..she hasthe hang of it now its not as messy as before...how is nate?
littlepig - way to go Frejya! I'm glad she's giving you more sleep and spending more time on her tummy. Once she realises how strong she can get there'll be no stopping here!
Skye - Zeke sometimes throws up if I put him on his tummy too soon after a feed, maybe increasing the time between a feed and tummy-time will help Cammi? Probably harder to do if she can roll herself though!
Sleeping is still hit and miss... I think he's making up for being such a wonderful newborn who'd sleep 6 hours stretches every other night!
Hi all!!!
No I havn't started the solids yet but I am seriously thinking about it over the next few weeks!!
Hopefully tomorrows appointment with his surgeon might shed some light onto when we will get a surgery date and work towards fattening him up!!!
5 months tomorrow since I have been expressing which is a milesone I am very proud to have reached!! See if I can get to 6 months which was my ultimate goal!!!
Tummy time was a struggle for me aswell but I have noticed and did read somewhere that the more tummy time you can give them the better they will sleep and it is so true with my DS! Just give them about a 20min to half hour break from feed to tummy as they will usually throw up!!!!
Has anyone got a tooth yet? I think we are not far off getting our first tooth as he is showing all the classic signs!!!!!
hi ladies,
when she is on her belly sometimes there will be 2hrs after her feed but will still throw up it doesnt bother her its just sometimes i will look down and she has her face in spew:doh: and she always rolls over everytime i put her down..
no teeth yet but it looks like cammi's gums are starting to swell up now so hopefully we get some soon..
Skye - if it doesn't bother her, and she's not losing weight or fluid, I wouldn't be too worried. She'll probably outgrow it as the muscles at the top of her stomach get stronger I guess.
Leesha - congrats on making 5 months! I'm sure you can get that last month under your belt easily.
No teeth yet, the odd screaming session and lots of drool though. I don't think Zeke's gums have changed any, but he's always had really clear bumps where his teeth will be since he was born.
Hi Miranda - Freyja also used to sleep really, really well for the first 3 months. Most nights she slept at least 6 hours before waking and then would give me another few hours after she'd had a feed and her dummy popped back in. Now though, it's 4 hours max :(
Hi Skye :) I think Miranda and Leesha are right about the waiting period between feeding and tummy time. I do know some mums who stick their bubs straight on their tums after a feed, but in my exerience it's the worst time to try it with Freyja. Oh, and Miranda's right about their tummies - they're so tiny at this stage that when they're full and you lay them down (or jiggle them too much!), the food has to go somewhere. Usually up!
5 months!? Way to go Leesha!! You are doing such a fantastic job expressing for so long when so many mums would have given up as soon as the baby had feeding probs. You are obviously a very strong-willed lady! :D
And good luck with the solids - might even get more sleep!
Freyja was bad for a while with feeds at 8pm before bed, 11.30ish, 1.30ish, 4.30ish and then up at 6am for more and just not settling to sleep during the day unless I was with her (velcro baby)!
I think I've cracked the problem now though - growing and needing more nutrients. She'd been obsessed with us eating since she was 3-months, but we'd only given her a little bit once a day from about 4 1/2mths. My milk has never returned to full capacity, so she has smaller bb feeds than before, hence the reason there's so many and also why I think she was waking through the night, so she's on solids properly now with 3 meals a day and still has 5-6 b/f a day.
When you do give Cammi solids Skye, make sure you fill her up with her milk first and then offer her the food afterwards. Milk is still the most important food until they're 12 months old (will you manage to express for that long?!) and you might find that she's more willing to try solids when she's not hungry.
As for the teething, Freyja has had bouts of it with all the symptoms, but as yet no teeth through. Last one was a 2-week nightmare that coincided with everything above, so she's had a bad time of it poor thing. Her gums were flat when born, now bumpy on top, hard, hot and can see the white - especially where her molars are (sorry, will be!). Hylands teething tabs have been a godsend!
PS - just noticed that my username was changed as requested and also it affects my previous posts. Hope that's not too confusing! :D
Wowie... Freyja is growing so fast! My milk supply increased when Zeke started solids, he loves them, but he started to nurse more too, he made it all too clear he wasn't going to settle for any less boob time!
He has a solid breakfast every day, and dinner if he seems hungry, originally it was only 2 or 3 nights a week, but now he will skip dinner maybe once per week.
I'm teething now though... my final wisdom tooth is making a slow and agonising appearance... I feel like I've been punched in the face!
Hi Miranda :)
What makes you say Freyja is growing really fast? She's little for her age (we're not tall - although she def has her mummies thighs!) and has always been on the 25th percentile. When we went to our first mother's group the other week, I was amazed at how big all the other babies were and the oldest one was only 3 weeks older. They were all huge in comparison!
I hadn't thought that babies might want to nurse more when they get solids, but am glad they do! Hopefully my milk might even get to a decent level again. Reason we actually gave Freyja solids properly was that she was feeding so often, we thought she must need more.
So, you give brekkie and then dinner IF Zeke's hungry? How much and what do you give at these meals?
Freyja is currently having brekkie, dinner and supper before bed, as well as booby at each of these times and at least 2 other times during the day. She now has the equivalent of a jar of food each time. We'd started her off with only 3 teaspoons (an ice-cube size) once a day. She always wanted more and was still waking every hour at night for food, so we upped it to twice a day and then had to keep upping the amounts as she wanted more and more. There's no need to persuade her to take the food as she has her mouth open and is leaning forward for the next mouthful before we've even loaded the spoon!
According to the MCHN, 3 tablespoons is the max she should be having. That's only the equivalent to one jar of food I think...?
I do feel sorry for you with the wisdom teeth coming through! Bad huh? I didn't feel them come through really, well, not that I remember, but I do remember getting 3 out at once because they were impacted and every single one getting infected. Now that was painful! :o
You should try using the baby teething products and see how effective they are! :D
The three meals a day thing... Zeke's only on two and is about a week older than Frejya... but every baby is different LOL! He's a lightweight too... usually around 25th percentile for weight, sometimes a bit bigger for height... he seems to have my metabolisim!
At the moment he has 1 tablespoon of fruit mixed w/1 of cereal or 2tbs of veggies. He won't eat veggies with cereal! I think a jar is about 3tbs... I don't have an exact tablespoon measure, so I'm kind of guessing from my normal sized spoons! He has dinner every night now. We started with breakfast only, and went by his cues in the evening as to whether he was really hungry, and fed him if he seemed unsatisfied with nursing alone. He normally has breakfast around 9am and dinner about 6.30-7ish.
I just made my own baby food for him so we'll see how he likes it tonight!
The tooth is being slow and painful still... it's not impacted or infected - that sounds horrible! But it sure is taking it's own sweet time!
