Last time we had a meet, it was a melbourne central, as we all caught the train in, and you can just get off at the station downstairs. That way we wouldnt even have to go into the city. Thats if we want to go to Melb Central again... we have a whole city of options...

Back from the party (it was just around the corner)... both boys tired and needy but I have just enough time to say: Great to see you again Dee (Heaven) I actually used that phrase twice yesterday in two different posts... the other one was "Why did you become a Platinum member?" thread... same reason... I wanted the full BB experience and didn't want the site to fold due to financial reasons... can you guys imagine not having BB anymore???? OMG I think the withdrawal would be almost physical! LOL I certainly wouldn't be as content on a daily basis as i have been since I joined up... knowing that you are all here to debrief about all issues, large and small.
Mel: I live in Eaglemont (near Ivanhoe) and I don't drive but live about 1.5 blocks away from a train station. I go into the CBD most Fridays (didn't today because of the party)... so Melbourne Central or even the Gardens would be ok (I'd get off at Jolimont.
Ok... BRB... boys need me now...
ETA: mmmm thought I would share what I'm snacking on now (WISON): a sesame Ryvita with chunky pesto dip (I think the chunks are pine and macadamia nuts) very delicious and probably quite healthy... I had nibblies at the party but no breakie and this snack should tide me over so that I don't need a "lunch"... will probably have a cuppa soon... might have an orange...getting quite warm outside... almost wish I had some nappies to wash! LOL but I'm all up to date.

OMG - I'm such an idiot - I drove all the way to Westfeilds Maurbra thinking that is were I was meeting Donna today for lunch, but she had said Westfeilds Miranda - ... I'm sooo sorry Doona! I just run on auto pilot some times and just don't listen.. I feel like such an idiot...I was calling her saying "I'm outside DJ's..were are you? and see is saying ...I'm outside DJ's? What are you wearing ? etc. etc.. It took me 15 mins to realise I was an idiot and got the places mixed up...
in other news...the builder went surprisingly well...but Ally was awake the whole time, so by the end she was completely over it, but the builder was great about it all..
Simone - HUGS honey.. I know what it is like to have to make yourself happy each day - but you can do it, we are here to help you and you know that you are loved!
Mel - get your ticker happening girl so we can see your beautiful baby! the others will help you at your meet up (so jealous I can't go - but would probably get the date wrong or something!!!)
Baths - thanks for your advice (as always) you are a mother to us all sometimes! *Kiss*
IK- hope your having a better day..
luv you guys
CC

Mel - just google baby tickers, a few different places will come up. Just pick one!! then follow the directions and copy and paste the text into your signature. all done!! i dont know which text to paste in though...
-
Dee (Heaven) - yeah, it's behind us now - onwards and upwards :)
Meet up - sounds like we need one and if we can't do it outdoors, then a cafe somewhere sounds good. What about that QV thing up on Lonsdale Street? Or are we avoiding the city? I can do Friday, but every other day is booked up for me, unless we wind up on Monday by 3 (gotta be back for a dentist appt at 5.30). I don't know any kid friendly places away from the CBD, unless we do a McDonalds (urghhhh, but I can get over myself and have a big mac!) somewhere close to a tram line from the CBD?
Oscar is finally nodding off - he's been awake for hours again, so not much has been done around here again.
Feeling heaps better today. I had dinner cooked for me and my plate even got collected as soon as I finished (what the?) and dishes washed (ok, so he may have wanted to avoid my commentary seeing as the sink was full of empty beer bottles to be washed for bottling). I think I know that I'm never going to be fussed over like some other partners we know, and for the most part I'm fine with it (one of the couples we know is very attentive to one another, but he is almost nauseating...I couldn't handle that), but every once in a while, when DP gets particularly selfish, it gets me down. I'm responsible for my own feelings, however we are both responsible for this relationship and we need to look out for one another, and ensure that we're not causing the other inconvenience or extra, unnecessary work. And that's just the minimum, on top of that there is showing the other you care in various little ways. Am I rambling? Yes, I'm rambling.
Oscar woke up so damn happy this morning that I was brimming with love for my little unit, all huddled on the bed.
I had photos taken of my nose for the op, and the photographer lady was so taken with Oscar that she even took a few pics of me with Oscar, after she'd done the medical shots! He is such a floozy. I'll be surprised if he gets separation anxiety of any degree!
Simone - did you get the email I sent around the other day about the 20 second brainstorming? If you didn't, then you need it. If you did, then set aside a few minutes today and do it. You have 3 beautiful kids, and whilst they do not define you they DID come from you, so you're not that bad, are you? You're pretty ok from where we're looking! And that's just the start of it. Good luck with the RAAF thing! DP's applying for the Mets (MFB)...the dark side (CFA has better conditions, but the mets aren't too bad either!).
I'm going to put this boy to bed finally, get some washing out, clean the bathroom, clean the rug, clear this table and get sewing some time in 2009...
-
Meetup: ok... well next Friday the 17th should be ok for me... when was that protest? Surely we'd be ok if we all got off at Melbourne Central and snuck into Borders? Especially if the weather is going to be wet (i don't say "foul" anymore because we need the rain!). If the crowds aren't too bad we could wander over to Myer seeing as though we all know the way now... I need to buy my BB Secret Santa Gift too! Oooh who else is doing that???
oh and WISON: strawberries. Whipping up a flan using the left over sheets of short crust pastry from the mini quiches I made for DH's party (they turned out great... was able to make heaps... probably about 2 dozen at least and they were devoured... not too expensive either.... anyhow the pantry is getting pretty empty and I'm in "using up" mode. There was a punnet of strawberries left over which is still in surprisingly good condition... oh and I'm also nibbling on some rocket leaves.... just because they are there and need eating.
I'm also finding that Niall is awake a lot more during the day these days... but he sleeps well at night so it's ok... he's establishing a good rhythm. Must take a new piccy for his 5 month mark coming up soon.. IK, maybe it's just my 'pute but your ticker piccy is a tad dark... what do you reckon girls? Our monitor is already at 90% brightness and looks washed out if I lighten it anymore.
ETA: oh and thankyou CeeCee for that affectionate little peck ROFL you're a sweetie! I had a bit of a giggle at your attempt at a meetup... you must have been beside yourself with mortification! LOL Still you need to get yourself down here and join one of ours... we'll guide you the whole way via sms... don't worry ;)

Well, that's all the convincing I needed to change my ticker photo to another one that I was tossing up with. I liked the current one cos it has the HAB and is one of the only ones I have taken by someone else of me and Oscar! Anyway, the one I'll change it to has a very cute camping Oscar in it...BRB
-
Awww that's a shame... can't you lighten it instead?
-
The photo was taken with the shadows of the trees falling over us, so whilst it doesn't look dark when I look at it on my screen, it may just not work as a small pic in a ticker :( Oh, well, here's the new one...did it work?
-
hey girlies. im going to have to do the 20sec brainstorming thing, things got a little worse this arvo...
I like the pic IK, as i alreaydy know what you look like, its not too bad :P
-
IK - can't see new photo but the old one is sweet.
I finally worked out thanks to Simone, how to do my ticker!!! YAH. I also tried to put photo there but it didn't work, not sure what I am doing wrong!!!!! I have started my homepage, so you will see some old and new photos of my little cherub. I will put some of Chelsea on there when I get more time. She has been out all day with her nana, so I am enjoying the sunshine. Took Marley out in the back garden and she felt grass for the first time - not sure she liked it though. The dog and the trees were more interesting!!!
I think Friday is the big day of the G20 protest (I think), the paper mentioned certain streets and areas will be blocked off for the duration. The Hi-5 concert is also on, which DH is taking Chelsea to. She is so excited, she keeps asking each day if it is time to go to Hi-5! I haven't been to the city in ages - I would probably drive in as I would have no idea how to catch public transport (haven't done it since I left school LOL!!). Maybe by Friday, the weather might improve and we can meet outdoors - lets all keep our fingers crossed XXXXX
The house is clean and still clean (thanks to Chelsea being out for the day) and will stay that way until Chelsea comes back around 7.30pm. Every second Friday she goes to my MIL for the day and she gives her dinner and bath, then brings her home. It is a great arrangement as she gets to spend a good day with her Nan & Pa and I get to spend some one on one time with Marley. And get the housework done. All my washing is done, dry and put away - until more piles up tomorrow LOL!!!!!
-
IK: yeah but don't you have a program like Irfan View that can modify the piccy... make it lighter? (It's downloadable for free when you sign up with Babies Online BTW)
Simone: Wassup darl...
-
Mel, where do you live again? Sorry if you've told us, I've forgotten!
Simone - get thee brainstorming, girly! You know you can post here freely if there's anything you'd like to get off your chest, or you have our emails if posting isn't possible...
Sheesh, Oscar's awake again...that'd be right, I just made a cuppa!
-
bath, pm'ed you, ik, emailed you. sorry guys, ill come back in later... sorry to be a dampner in here today.
-
IK - I live in Wantirna. Marley usually wakes just as I am having lunch or starting to make dinner!!! They must know.
Simone - hope all is OK.
What is PM????
-
Simone: Got it darl... the kids have gone berzerk but I shot you a quick reply... take your time...
-
thanks bath.
Mel - just having a couple of probs. typical me, somethings always going wrong!
-
Simone - something goes wrong for many of us - how else do you recognise the good bits if there's nothing to measure it against? Please don't tell yourself that it typifies your life - you have so much more going for you than your disappointments  You are made of strong stuff, I know that much :)
ETA: Bath - I've got iPhoto, I'll see about lightening the HAB picture, but meanwhile I've lightened and cropped the one of Oscar eyeing off my beer whilst lounging on my chair. I think it's one of the cutest pics I've taken of him, but if you prefer the other one I suppose I can bend to peer pressure!
Mel - I'm near you, I could meet you at Boronia or Ringwood train station and we can travel in together? It is far less hassle for us to take a train in from where we are than it is to drive. I can walk to my train station and get off and wait for you and then we go in and I show you our world class public transport ticketing system (not). Hey, if you live in Wantirna, where did you have Marley? We could meet up somewhere like Knox, if you want, some time this week, like Thursday (I have an ABA morning coffee in FTG and could just continue from there - travelling to town would cut it fine, timewise, to get back to organise dinner before brigade...remember, I'm going to be the one training next week as DP will look after Oscar instead!). That way, you'd know me a bit better to decide if you want to spend an hour on a train (with no escape) with me on Friday! I need to find a present for my cousin's birthday, so I could do that whilst at Knox (I avoid shopping centres at the best of times, but if I gotta go, I gotta go...), to get me off the mountain ;)
ETA again - Mel, I mean Wednesday!
-
IK- Check your ticker, I don't honestly think Oscar is 10 months old!!!!!!!
-
thanks IK. you girls are my saviours, you keep me sane each day
-
eek! Thanks, Jess! BRB LOL!
ETA: Simone - you've got what you need inside yourself, we're just helping you find it :) Pat yourself on the back in advance, just for the lark, and picture yourself on the other side...
-
thats better IK :P
I think im going to go out and do SOMETHING tonight, might go shopping... good 'ole retail therapy.
-
i wonder when these stupid lilypie tickers "maintenence" is going to be finished. Anneliese is 5 months and 1 day old BTW :)
-
I made the switch to Ticker Central cos I couldn't upload my pics for love or money - Happy 5 months, Anneliese! Next Sunday is Oscar's turn...
I'm going to try not to be so 'edit' happy, cos by the time I edit to add there are more posts and I may as well have written in a new post!
Although, if I had done that we'd well and truly be in a new thread by now...
-
OMG Mel - Marley is beautiful! you must be pretty happy with yourself!
Simone - oh honey, everyone has bad days... how was my day, I had arranged to meet Donna and got the place wrong (I feel like SUCH a loser and an idiot)...but I know there is a difference btw feeling down and depression, so it is great that you know your feeling a tad down and are doing something positive to combat it (eg: shopping). I hope it kick buts you out of your funky mood darl. PS don't be sorry we all confind in here!
:-)
IK - think I liked your old ticker better - you are so all about your HAB!
:-)
I tried to post one of me BF with my dog at my feet, but it was too small....but it just seemed to sum up my life right now...
Hope the kids settle a bit for your Baths - still don't know how I would handel more than 1!
-
i want to change over, but i have no pics on this computer, and like pics on my ticker. so it will have to wait... Plus i like the pic on my sister Kellie, and the two boys. That was the weekend Anneliese was born.
-
Happy 4 months, Ally! Nearly missed that...well, I did, but better late than never!
Now I'm conflicted - HAB or Beer Oscar?
Gonna check out Marley now...then get ready to go to my dad's for a BBQ - my mum's coming down today and DP has agreed to come with me...wonders will never cease!
-
Simone - maybe the girls can take a photo of your kids at the next meet up and email it to you to put on your ticker?
IK - he he.. beer baby or HAB baby - decisions decisions... he hee
DH is home, should go.
bye

Time for a new thread found HERE.
