I gave Anneliese some rice cereal with mashed banana in the other day, and she had the tongue reflex still - though not as bad as last time. AS you keep feeding them solids, do you think they grow out of it?? My boys never had the reflex, they just gulped their food down from day dot!!
As for more children - some days i want another (always did want more than 3 anyways...) but some days i think i've got more than i can handle anyways!! Maybe think about it in a few years...
-
CC - the girls might be the late bloomers LOL!!!
Simone - I think they do get used to it. Chelsea was a great eater and I never had hassles with her starting solids. Marley has been a different story, but she is really getting the hang of it. Gave her more pumpkin tonight and she ate another 2 cubes (about a teaspoon each cube) without spitting much out. I would just go slow and either try a bit each day or every second day. Maybe try pear or apple instead of banana as it might be more palitable (sp?).
I finally booked out flights to Noosa today YEAH!!!!!! :) Like CC said, I am so excited. I was even more excited as I got $100 off the total cost of the fares with the JetStar Mastercard deal. So total cost for 3 return flights was only $434! So we leave Sunday 25 Feb at 4.55pm and come home Thursday 15 March at 11.55am. We are now just working out what we need to take for Marley like portacot, pram etc. I have one of those portable high chairs which we will take too. We are thinking of hiring a people mover - my friend has one child (now 5 mths old) and we are staying with her for 10 days, then my other GF and her family arrive and they have 2 kids so thought it be cheaper and easier to have one car we can all fit in. Just hope I can sort out Marleys eczema problem before we leave as it will be hot up there in Feb/March.
Quiet in here today. Hope all the other Junies are having fun and look forward to hearing more goss soon!
-
Hi all!
Well will try to be quick as its nearly 11pm.
Mel: I work as an AO for Qld Police at HQ in Brisbane. ONly work Thursdays/Fridays. Am in the Drug Squad and am supposed to do intel support - long story! Ohh do enjoy Noosa - if I get the chance I might be able to drive up there and meet you its only 2 hours away! Oh and its not very hot in mid - late March so you should be okay with Marley's excema.
Work today: Wish I'd called in sick! Couldn't do anything on the crim database (again) as the idiots now have me logged on (after 2 months) but they didn't give me the correct access to work on the crim reports! So had to photocopy all day for the forensic accountant! God it was SOOO boring! And as I thought the coppers who were in the office were of course slacking off and watching cricket half the day.
Plat membership: I'm not sure I can afford $95 for life membership so I'm undecided about upgrading but I recently renewed my yearly about Sep/Oct so I think mine expires late in 07.
Aleise Update: Am a bit annoyed at Aleise's daycare as today the younger assistants (the usuals are on holidays) forgot to give her her 3.30pm/4.30pm feed and I saw on the chart when I picked her up at 5pm that her last feed was 12.30!! The "leader" who was not a day over 18 I swear, apologised and I said "That's okay just don't forget next time!" WTF??? How can they "forget" to feed a six month old when they had less than half the usual bubs and toddlers due to holidays?? Okay, she doesn't whinge much, although I noticed her eyes were red and I asked if she'd cried today (she does sometimes when she misses me) and I was told "about an hour ago" and I said "well she usually cries when she's hungry or wants attention". I thought about complaining but I don't want them to loose their jobs.. Any thoughts here??? :frown:
Its getting late so I'd better go.. chat again soon.
-
Morning girls, I agree Mel it has been quite in here, but I guess that happens over the christmas and new year period. That's great that you've booked your holiday and got the discount, will have to keep you posted about the weather up here so that you'll know what to bring.
Neeny I would have a quite word with director and say that you don't want to make a complaint, but you can't let something like this slide, just let them know that you weren't happy that she hadn't had a feed for nearly 5hrs and could they make sure that it doesn't happen again. It's your right to let the centre know how upset you were that this happened. Hope that all made sense I'm a bit sleep deprieved.
Simone Wyatt was a gagger and still is a bit now, so it may be that her gag reflex is just making her still push it out, as Mel said just take it slow.
Hello to CC, Bath and Jess and all the other girls, hope everyone has a good day.
hugs xoxo
-
Neeny- -i would be talking to the director. That disgusting!! If they cant handle feeding a baby they shoudnt be working in childcare... GL
Mel - enjoy your holiday!! DH said i could go to bali next year if i wanted, but im already going to perth around march (hopefully) and we're talking about hiring a caravan in a caravan park and completely avoiding next chrissy with the IL's... thinking QLD might be nice!!
Come on everyone, lets get chatting again!! Miss you all ;)
-
OMG - NEENY - I would be furious... I would not care if they lost their jobs, they are obviously not doing them anyway. There would have been so much steam coming out of my ears that you would have seen me from space. How could they not remember to feed your baby? I would be writing a letter and sending a copy to the relevant Government Department - they will need to be re-audited or re-accredited if it happens on more than one account.
have to go, Ally is crying BRB
-
Neeny - really honey, they maybe doing this to all the babies? Unless it is reported how will the Director even know what is happening? Anyway, your choice darling, but if it was me, I would be going to the highest authorities about it.
Mel - yeah, hoildiays... I'm so excited for you. I'm currently on the Gold Coast and my eczema is pretty bad...
must run, in laws back....
-
Morning girls :) DH, FIL and Wade have just nipped out to Bunnings so I have about 10 minutes... then it just gets too chaotic to post... FIL is half deaf so speaks very loudly and everyone has to speak loudly so that he hears them so as a consequence the noise here is incredible... however gotta take the good with the bad... he is great at entertaining the kids and keeping them out of my hair so I'm actually getting a lot of housework and extra tidying done.
Childcare issue: Hmm, tricky one Neeny... I agree to let the director know. You said they were temporary replacements for the permanent staff? Were they agency? Many centres are having to recruite staff of a lower standard these days because childcare staff are so incredibly hard to get... there is a huge shortfall, and no wonder when they are being paid less than a department store sales assistant. I was paid $12.75 per hour when I worked as a carers assistant. You pay peanuts you get monkeys. Still this isn't of much help... you MUST say something. But don't blow your top because at the end of the day Aleise is under their care and you don't want to risk them resenting her... now I KNOW this sounds absolutely crazy... but I've seen young agency staff kinda withdraw from children who parent's have abused them... they go on to provide a "service" but there's no warmth with it. I know this is wrong, it's just what I've seen. However go to the director and have a quiet word like Amanda said... if she is a good director she will pass on the message in a way that achieves the desired result ie making sure the "leader" sharpens up her act without making her feel bitter.... or if she is an agency staff member the director will know not to ask for her again. Good luck Neeny. I know how hard it is to find any kind of care let alone a place that is good and treats the children with respect and warmth... I don't want to see you burn any bridges but you do need to have open and honest communication and feedback with the director.
Amanda: Congratulations on becoming a Plat. member! Looking forward to seeing you 'round in the new areas you will have access to and if you need help with your av I'd love to give it a go! Let me know if you'd like an av done based on any particular piccy of you and the boys. But if you prefer to get Kathryn to do it that's ok... I won't be offended :) Which reminds me I've got to design a few boys for Kath as there really isn't much to choose from at the sites we go to to get the Unique (the style of av that is used here) images.
Uh oh... I think I can hear them returning... I'll pop back on a bit later.... maybe tonight.
-
Howdy girls - quick one from me but no time to post many personals cause I want to limit my PC time to half and hour a day (gotta get used to using PC as a reward rather than an excuse to not clean or do "work" work.
Neeny, tough one, I would speak to the director. :(
better go - wanna get lunch started before the boy wakes
(ps: been super clean again today - cleaned the laundry and even washed the vacuum cleaner - yes! washed it - the casing was grotty!)
-
Hi Ladies,
I hope that everyone had a wonderful christmas. Ours was hot (went to FIL in the country Boxing day and he has no AC), butother than that was really plesant. Poor Tori wasnt a happy cmaper though, she is teething again, and has every single teething symptom known to man- runny bum, runny nose, low grade fever etc, she is a bit better today so hopefully there will be a nother tooth soon as result of all these symptoms.
Mel- Your holiday in Noosa sounds just devine, we are going away in a couple of weeks for a short stay by the beach, I am really looking forward to just kicking back and relaxing- My mum and dad are going as well so it will be nice for them to have some time with Tori.
Neeny- I agree with what they others say, you do not neccessarily need to make an offical complaint but you do need to say something, otherwise nothing gets done. Just think if it was her 12oclock feed that got missed or forgotten- it is not like oyu would be there soon to pick her up.
Cee-Cee: How cute of Ally to make coughing sounds so you cough back at her, Tori has just started to click her tongue and make kiising kinda noises with her lips, she thinks she is awfully clver because she does them and then looks up and grins.
Rory- I see in your ticker that you are TTC again, good luck with that. Wre have deicded that we will start trying from June onwards. I would really like to have no2 before july 2008 so that they babies are only 2 years apart at school.
I hit the After christmas sales yesterday to buy myself some clothes and new underwear as an early birthday present. It was great I got 4 tops, a pair of 3/4 pants and 2 new bras for $130. I also got a toaster for my cousin for her engagement party (it is what she wanted) for $30 reduced from $60- all up I saved over $70 on the things I bought which I think is a great bargin.
Anyway I better go, gotta give the house a quick tidy- my electric stove stop keeps banging and arking so I am waiting for a the realeastate agent to call me back and get someone out to fix it.
-
Rory - yesterday iactually cleaned out every bit of my washing machine!! It feel nice when all the little things get done :)
Ali - you bargain hunter you ;) Anneliese is a lazy buggar, if you smile at her, she smiles back at you :) She's just started pulling her dummy out and keeping it just out of reach of her mouth and then gets all grumpy... its so funny :D
-
Hi everyone.
Neeny - as all the other girls have suggested, I would be having a polite chat to the director. If nothing is said, then nothing will be done and I would be concerned that they may forget another child. It's not just a small thing but play nice and see what they say. Work is always crappy at this time of year, I remember last year, we were so quiet as most people take time off. My best friend lives in East Brisbane and her and her DH own a bar at Southbank on Little Stanley Street, so if you are ever around that way, pop in and say Mel sent you. It's called Greystone (next door to Egg Maternity if that helps!) and is a very funky, relaxed bar. Re Noosa, would be fantastic to meet up. I will be there for 18 days, so I am sure we could arrange something. So glad to hear it wont be too hot.
CC - what do you do for your eczema that works?
Bath - how was your christmas and in particular your pudding? You must be busier than usual with FIL staying. I am sure the kids love having him there - someone new to play with LOL!
Amanda - you can be my BOM! The updates would be great.
Rory - half hour a day! You are a good girl, I couldn't do it LOL!! I get on alot at night when kids in bed. Its my relax time - esp when DH is at work. You are going gangbusters with the cleaning, I have been too - it's the perfect time. How the menu plan going???
Ali - nothing bets a beach holiday. Great your mum and dad can go too - means you and pete can have some "couple" time together and maybe go out for dinner. As we are going with another family, we have decided to take a night each and go out for dinner while the other looks after the 4 kids! Poor Tori with her teething, so far Marley hasn't go much happening in that department. Go girl with the bargains - where did you go? I have got vouchers to use and was planning on going tonight. I need new bras too, since stopping BF, I need to be refitted I think. I love getting a bargain!
Simone - what are you cleaning today LOL!!! Qld is the best place for a holiday. There are so many areas to go. We have been going since 1995 almost each year. As my best friend lives there, it gives us an excuse!!! Bali would be nice too - but couldn't stand getting bali belly!!!!
Cleaned out Chelsea's lounge area today and tried to find homes for new things. I need a bigger room! Finished all my washing - I can't believe it, nothing else to wash (YET). Might hit the shops tonight.
What is everyone doing for New Years Eve???
-
Mel - mum and dad just take red cordial (cant remember why) but mum goes at leat twice a year, and apart from the first time she went in 1998 she hasnt ever gotten bali belly again!! Maybe we should have a girlies holiday :D Today im still doing more washing, want to really get in and scrub the bathrooms, and i have piles of washing to fold and put away. Not to mention the kitchen... have been putting that off (cant do the dishes anyway, i will wet my cast!!) Hoping witholding from DH will make him want to clean just to get some... i've tried everything else!! Thinking about heading into crown tonight, i need a night out! I havent had any me time, i went to no christmas parties and it doesnt look like i will be doing anything on NYE, so i would like to go out and have some fun!! Was thinking about trying to find a kareoke bar in the city, i reckon that would be fun!!
-
hi again..
can't beleive 2006 is almost at an end where has the year gone???
Daycare dramas: Well thanks to all who gave advice. I spoke to my friend (who's Aleise's Godmum and has 14 yrs daycare experience) about the drama and she thinks I should talk to the regular girls when they return from holidays about it and not make a big deal out of it 'cause it could backfire. She agreed that an 18 yr old should not be in charge of another trainee and 5 kids!! I don't know if someone more senior was there before I got there at 5pm and just left earlier than usual. Anyway Since the daycare across the road from ours recently closed (1 week's notice) ours have been inundated with desperate parents so I'm not going to give them an opportunity to shove us out! Anyway the reg nursery ladies are really lovely so I don't want to go looking for another centre nor making a mountain out of a mole hill.. will just ride it out and have a quiet word to the nursery leader next week.
Work: Well it was ghost town at HQ today - cricket over so the coppers actually worked (shock horror! ) and luckily a shortage of p/c paper so I didn't have to p/c all day ! yay!
Better go Aleise just woke up - will post again soon.
Sorry no personals been rushed this week will be more delligent next time!
Neeny xoxo
-
neeny- i would have been upset that they forgot to feed Aleise so i beleive you have every right to speak up, true that it could back fire in a way so telling the regular girls might be a more viable choice.
our house looks like a bomb has hit it. We got all nixon's xmas presents today (dh shipped them down through work and picked them up from his office) so unpacked them all and oh my god!! this kid isnt even 1.....(thank god i didnt let dh go and buy more before xmas like he wanted to he got so much from all the families) then we went and bought OUR xmas present today a coffee machine, so been trialling that.
Also dh was rewarded with a plasma screen from a client of his he helped save lots of dosh over the past 12monts so is currently trying to set it up in the lounge room... boxes everywhere, appliances everywhere, toys everwhere!! But now Nixon can sit it is much more fun he can play with so much more stuff, teaching him how some of his new toys work.
what is everyone doing for new years? we have had 3 offers so far but still dont know which we are doing.... one was a party at a neighbours across te rd so thinking we may go to that its the easiest and can just walk 10 steps to get home when we are done!
-
Nickers - lucky DH, mine would be very envious. He has been harping about getting one for ages! May get one in the new year, if he behaves himself LOL!! Love the coffee machine, I got one for a birthday present and it is awesome. I love the smell of fresh coffee in the house. How did you go house hunting? It so good Nixon can sit up know, it does make it easier for them to play with things. New Years Eve we are going to Jells Park with 2 other families for a picnic dinner and the kids can have a runaround at the huge playground (wear themselves out!!!), then back to my GF house for drinks. They have a big spa so no doubt the men will be in there with their beers. Going over the road sounds fantastic, only a quick stagger home LOL!!!
-
Hey nic - nothing going on here NYE, we generally didnt get invited to things in Perth (We were the only ones with Kids) and we dont know very many people over here as a couple, so we're prolly just going to stay home and put the kids to bed early!! Last year on NYE i was nearly 8 weeks pregnant, and in the really tired part of pg... in bed by 7pm every night. DH has offered to let me go out on my own, but i know he will hold that against me later... so will just stay home, even if to only avoid fights!!
Is it nice to be home?
-
Hi again... everything settled down now.... bit more peaceful... crickets the loudest sound... lovely outside hey?
Niall has a bit of a temp tonight :( 38.5'C Not sure why... maybe teething... he was a bit grisely. He ate well earlier today, rice cereal, EBM, then later some mashed banana and a rusk. Also I'm having trouble with my right nipple. Niall bit me real hard recently (maybe it's a clue also that he's teething) and it actually drew blood and now there's a small wound that's taking a long time to heal. It's quite excruciating actually... never had this issue before... I'm almost about to call the ABA. Trouble is I've gotten a bit lop sided recently and this was the bigger boob and now I'm getting engorged a lot and that really makes the wound sore. Lucky I have a pump which is helping me express gently. Anyway... it'll sort itself out... at least it's focussing me on getting Niall to take the left side (smaller side) more frequently... hopefully the upshot will be that they even out. I'm just hoping Niall is just teething... and that he hasn't picked up a bug. We were over at relative's on Boxing day and when i left the room with SIL minding Niall who was on the floor she allowed her dog to lick Niall on the face! :( Not happy about that at all but of course I didn't want to make a fuss. Anything can happen when you introduce a new strange baby into a dog's environment. I don't want to offend dog lovers but it's just my opinion that the risk (of allowing them to lick a baby's face) outweighs the benefits of which i actually can't think of any except that it gave my SIL a few laughs grrrrrr
Neeny: yep, i agree with your friend... it could back fire... but definately mention it. It's good that you trust her main carers though. I can't help thinking that paying childcare workers a decent wage would attract more people to the profession who are currently going where the money is. It's amazing how many people think that childcare workers should simply accept a low wage simply because they "love working with kids".... you can't live on warm fuzzies! And while I too enjoyed working with children 90% of the time it's hard slog, physically demanding, emotionally exhausting, chaotic, filthy and unappreciated.
Mel: My pudding was brilliant! LOL it's the most fascinating recipe... who would have thought that a concoction of bread crumbs fruit and beer (amongst other ingedients) could turn out to be so delicious! Has me stumped. I'll use the same recipe next year though... it's Delia Smith's Traditional Christmas Pudding. Can be made up to 3 months ahead of Christmas Day. Hope you're having fun at the shops! Let us know what bargains you score!
Simone: Hey I was going to recommend a girls' night out at this little pub in North Fitzroy that has (or used to have) this music quiz night with free c0cktails for the winning table. What they do is play 10 songs (from all eras) and the first table to go up to the barman with a correct list of songs/artists gets free ****tails! I can't recall the name of this place but it'll come to me LOL I know it might be a bit much for all us Melbourne Junies to get to (and home from) but it's a fun thing to do... there might be other places that do something like that... I had a great girls' night out with women in my street (we all shared a taxi van there and back)... did that about 6 months after Wade was born...oh, and we won a round! They do it about 3 times... and you're only allowed to win once... but it's pretty easy... i've also done it with another group of friends and we won a round then too.... and most importantly the c0cktails were yummy and not watered down! LOL
hot choccy time... back in a tic...
-
Bath - hope your boobs sort themselves out soon, it might be mighty painful where you were bitten OUCH! So glad to hear the pudding worked well - I knew it would, you are a wonder in the kitchen.
Got to the shops at 7.50pm, not long enough to shop much but went straight to bra section after Ali told me of her bargains. Scored 2 Berlie Barely There bras for $37 each (one pale pink, the other black). They are so super comfortable (like the tshirt ones) I had to buy 2! That took me nearly an hour to try on 8 bras!!!! Raced over to kids wear and just got Marley a Sprout romper for $10. The Sprout range is fantastic and not very expensive. It's one of the new brands introduced after the selling of Myer. Will have to go back again soon as I still have money left on my gift cards!
I absolutely love music trivia. We have a game hear called "Name that Tune" which has all 80's music and its fantastic. Bath, the place sounds unreal and I would love to go and hopefully win free ****tails! Don't care about the distance in, a good night out with the Junies is worth it. :)
-
That sounds great Bath!! I'd be in for that... MMM c0cktails!! (hold on, you didnt get censored!!) and Fitzroy isnt too far away (especially for me!!) Are we still on for our ****tail party??
-
Mel - isnt it great when you score a bargain?? Im not allowed to buy Anneliese anything for a little while, i've been going a little crazy on ebay lately (but i got lots more shopping on their than if i went to a retail store!!)
I should ead off to bed, im so awake and want to go out, but i hate going out alone, so i figure i should get a good nights sleep.... maybe go out tomorrow. There's no daycare this week and DH hasnt been much of a help... i just need some time out!!
-
Hey nevermind Sim... we'll just be here at home too... I'll prolly be online around midnight... let's have our own lil' party here :) Also I've been thinking maybe we could all venture over to Pirch (or somewhere similar) and have a real time music quiz... I could type in lines (lyrics) from songs and the first person to guess gets a point... like:
"Satin sheets and luxuries so fine...All your suits are custom made in London"
who can guess that? (song/artist)
-
Dress you up - Madonna.
This is fun. We should set this up somewhere, where did you suggest Bath?
-
BellyBelly used to have a quiz night each Tuesday on Pirch but i think it's a bit tricky to set up... I joined in once but now that I think about it it's also tricky with being interrupted at home... hmmm... maybe ICQ? Anyone else have any suggestions? Maybe Pirch would be ok... anyone else familiar with it? There also used to be a very user friendly site called TalkCity...
Here's another one:
"This is the noise that keeps me awake...My head explodes and my body aches"
I'd better not do too many more... might not be the right thing to do in here....
-
Good job with the shopping Mel- gotta love a bargin. I also love the sprout clothes in Myer, Tori got some Pj's by them for christmas.
Well for the first time since Tori was born I have the house to myself. I got up early and went to the Gym, and I just got back and Pete has taken Tori on a 'secret' shopping mission- I have been hanging to have a little bit of on my own time, there is so much I want to get done. I am just going to finish of my breakfast of poached eggs and christmas ham on toast and then I am off to do jobs.
Then I am going to pamper myself, do my nails, and hair because we are going to a Bday party at a winery this arvo- all laid on, I am very excited!
-
Ali- sounds like you are enjoying yourself good on you! I got some of my own time today however it was going to do the shopping whilst dh took Nixon to use his JB-hi fi voucher... then it took us over an hour to get the little devil asleep this arvo, he was clearly tired but just kept fighting it. wanted to play when we were with him but i gave in and nursed him to sleep in the end.
Bath- Ouch on the boob and i know exactly how it feels. I have been getting bitten a bit lately now Nix has 4 teeth he really munches down... today for the first time he bit me harder then ever and drew blood, it was still hurting an hr later. have u put some boob milk over it might help heal it also? I am only feeding once a day so bit easier for me to heal i suppose.
i have a feeling i know that song but just cant get it!! what is it?
i love trivia nights even though i am not that good at them!
house still messy, dh still fiddling with the tv ofcourse..
-
Well my good morning was short lived,Pete brang Tori home from the shops because she was really cranky- when she got home i noticed a rash on her back, tummy, back of her head etc......we think she has german measles. I couldnt get in to see any GP's today, but rang the health direct number and the nurse said that is quite likely what it is and to just keep an eye on her temperature.
-
Oh Ali! German Measles! Poor Tori! Keep us updated.
Nic: Yeah, I let my milk on the cut but the WORST aspect about it (besides trying to feed him) is when the cut sticks to my bra and I have to rip it off! Any suggestions? I don't want to go putting creams on it incase its not good for Niall to have. At least my smaller boob is filling up a bit better now... so I haven't called ABA yet... but if he bites that one (and breaks the skin) I will. Oh and regarding that last lyric, hehe, you have definately heard the song... era: 90's. I'll let you mull over it a little longer ;)
gotta go... back later tonight
-
Ali it could also be what Cody had its called Rosela it looks like measles but the rash usually disappears after 24-48hrs.
Bath thanks for the offer on doing my avatar that would be great. Irang and left a message on Thursday and still haven't heard back yet, so if I don't get a call back by tomorrow then it may have to wait another few weeks , but I will get there lol.
Mel lol at been your BOM, well today was quite warm, we had the air-con on was nice.
Nic NYE for us will be camping and 4wding tomorrow arvo and night, the first time in nearly 6 yrs that we have done something with other people. Love the new pic in your ticker, he's growing up so quick and sitting all by himself now thats great.
As for us I'm trying to introduce a second meal for Cody now but he doesn't seem to like the pumkin and sweetcorn or sweetcorn and chicken so far. He will eat rice cereal and apples and pears but nothing else, does anyone have any suggestions?
hugs xoxo
-
Amanda: hey send (email) me a pic of yourself... or a description....I can see what all your boys look like from the Santa pic on your site. ETA: Ok, done your boys :)
-
Happy New Year Junies
Well not much time at the moment will pop in later and do personals
-
oh i think i have it, is it a garbage song??
Bath- can u use a soft breast pad inside your bra that will help?? maybe u already are?
that new pic on Nixon's ticker is a professional photo that along with 2 others (just uploaded them on website) were Nixon's gift to dh for xmas. he didnt even know we had them done and he loves them! i just took a photo of them.
Hey jess- hope u and the fam are well.
Al i-poor tori, i hope she doesnt have german measels, what can u give for it?
-
Awwww What a little man! Nixon's ticker piccy is gorgeous... going to check out his website soon...
Nipple wounds: I haven't tried wearing a sheild/pad in my bra because I think it would stick to it too. Maybe just a tiny dab of Vaseline? just something to stop it sticking until it stops weeping. It's only small... smaller than a centimeter long... but geeze it hurts! And the whole underside of my nipple feels grazed and really stings when he sucks... however if i feed him in a slightly different position it does kinda help, or if I kinda rotate my boob around a bit whilst he feeds if that makes any sense.
Hiya Jess... staying home for NYE? or still up at your mum's? Hope all's well :)
Oh! And yes LOL it's Garbage's Push It.
-
Nope not at mum's...My parents changed their plans last night which meant that we didn't have to look after their dogs. BRB Liz has just been sick
-
Ali - hope Tori is OK. Don't know much about German Measles, can you guys catch it too? Didn't you say you were going to a wedding or something out tonight?
Nickers - Nixon's photo is just beautiful, I can understand why DH loved it! I just want to kiss his chubby little cheeks (or squeeze them LOL!!). Has DH got his TV set up yet? Men and their toys.
Bath - you can use the pawpaw cream or lansinoh (sp?) nipple cream (the hospital told me I could use either for cracked nipples) and both are safe for baby. The lansinoh is a special nipple cream. You poor thing, it must hurt!
Amanda - have fun camping for NYE. Not sure what else to try Cody with, I am still just happy Marley will eat one cube of pumpkin each night LOL!! Have you tried broccoli? Its something they either love or hate. Sweet potato/zucchini?
Jess - have a great NYE, wherever you will be. Is Liz OK?
Just had a friend over for dinner, he has just left. Chelsea was hyper tonight, don't know why but she is normally not like that. My brother and his girlfriend took her to the movies today to see Happy Feet - she loved it! Marleys eczema has flared up again. It has been so good this week, but the weather has been cooler. Soon as it starts to warm up it gets worse. Think I will take her to GP next week and get the referral to the paed skin specialist. I want to get it sorted out before we go to Noosa.
Must go to bed as it will be a late one tomorrow.
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL JUNIES AND THEIR FAMILIES. Have lots of fun and don't drink too much

Thanks Mel, I think I'll get some pawpaw cream...I've heard so many good things about it and verity has also developed a small patch of eczema on her face too. I hope you find something that helps Marley too. Verity used to get small patches on her thighs but they haven't come back since I told her to stop sitting in soapy water in the bath. I've told her to stop using soap on her face too but I think I need to try the pawpaw. I've put lip balm on Niall's bite.
Rang Nurse On Call last night because Niall's temp was getting close to 40'C and he's had it since Thursday. He still has no other symptoms and isn't particularly irritable either. She recommended going to a doctor today but he has woken up much cooler... it's always the way. Still she put my mind at ease as she ran down a list of things to look out for. Such a good service.
DH is taking FIL and the kids to the Diamond valley railway soon... so it will be just Niall and I :) Going to check out the FlyLady site for some cleaning tips... going to do a big tidy up before I relax tonight.

nurses on call is a great network, we rang it once when we only had Nixon home a few weeks and being new parents had no idea what was wrong with him (think it was the beginging of his reflux) i dont know that they have this in all states but definatley think they should.
oh is that the little railway bath in eltham? i was going to take nixon to it today only cause the neighbour gave us a couple of vouchers that expire after today! ive just gotta shoot off and get this slushy stuff from campberwell so i have time to freeze it for tonight then if its not raining was going to take him.

Nic: Yep... they should be there by now... it's fantastic.
I'm sooo tired but there's so much i want to get done while they are away.... and Niall has just dropped off to sleep... I know I should have a nap... I just don't want to see the New year in with a filthy bathroom! LOL
The kids were up at 6am this morning because Wade fell out of Verity's bed and then for God-knows-what reason Verity managed to staple her fingers! (at about 6.30am) I had to pull it out whilst still trying to wake up after just dosing off ... good grief, kids! you can never predict what's around the corner with 'em! Anyhow, they should be tired enough to have an early night tonight at least.
oh well... kettle's boiled... cuppa time... then I probably should rest.
