Neeny - great to see you back. Hope dentist goes well. I went last week for my usual clean and check up and thankfully no work needed! Its only just over 3 weeks until our Noosa trip. Will remind you closer to the time and hopefully if you are planning on heading up the coast, we could catch up?
Rory - PML regarding hows the weather!! Did you get to have some Flynn time today?
IK - Oscar with teeth, he will look even cuter! Still no action on the teeth side of things with Marley, which is much later than Chelsea. She will probably start teeting when or while we are away. Hope DP enjoys bringing in the washing!!!!
Dee - CONGRATULATIONS!!! How exciting for you. I'm sure you'll be able to get it done. Can't wait to hear how your plans are going over the next 6 weeks. You must be exhausted with all the family around. It does get tiring at times. Re teeth, Marley still doesn't have any so I think Lachlan and her are the last ones. Working one day a week sounds good if it doesn't impact too much on your "family time'. Like you said, if it gets too much you can always give it up. Nice of them to think though.
Nic - glad you enjoyed yourself. Its so fun to have a nice night out. Great news about getting a babysitter. Have fun Sat night too!
Bath - your poor boobs!!! Hopefully this one isn't as painful as the last one.
Went looking for tiles today and found some beautiful sandstone imitations reduced from $39 m2 to $12.50 m2 (clearance stock) and they have enough. It will save us over $700 if we go with them. Just waiting on tiler to come back with a price for laying them. Enjoyed a nice quiet night watching Heroes and Prison Break. Both were fantastic. Catch you all tomorrow.

Just letting you know that Simone has been banned from BellyBelly for forwarding at least one of my emails to an ex-member (I received an email which was destined for this person but she accidentally sent it to me). Please contact her offline. Please rest assured that this was not an easy or quick decision, it's been drawn out over days for which I have been trying to get REAL proof of problems before I actioned people's complaints. I only have the members and BB interests at heart.
ETA: Please read THIS announcement
-
Good Morning :) Looking forward to a day of domestic duties today... Niall is here beside me enjoying his baby Mueslie and banana... putting those new teeth to good use. The bite (same long-suffering boob!) is not as bad as last time so at least I don't have to resort to expressing or formula. However it's sore enough to feel stinging even when I'm not feeding... I can feel it now :(
Kel: My thoughts on the situation is that, like Nickers, I'm grateful for the huge efforts you and the mods put in keeping BellyBelly together. Even though I often can't see a problem from all angles I trust that you have the best interest of all members in mind. I don't think that you and the Mods are power hungry women who just throw their weight around for no reason. As you know a Junie splinter group has formed and I believe that members who are not happy with how BB is moderated can hang out there. I know from briefly visiting other sites that personal issues can get way out of hand and some women consistently fail to exercise tact. I don't envy your job. I will share my thoughts with Simone via email.
Mel: You will appreciate this recent event: For ages Verity has nagged me to buy yet another lip balm. She has hundreds of the blessed things all colours and flavours so I ignored her requests. A few weeks ago she developed a small patch of eczema on her face... so I applied the creams that I had on hand from when she had the last small bout of it. then she developed chaffed lips that we so bad that she got this clown-like look of redness around them... looked like Pamela Anderson with the way she applies lip liner around her lips than on them etc. I kept telling Verity to use one of the hundreds of balms that she had but she told me that because they taste nice they dont work! She kept licking them off. her friends told her to buy this particular brand which she couldn't remember the name of.... but "it comes in a red tube with black writing". So with her lips getting worse and worse I caved in... I asked the chemist for a balm fitting that description, feeling a bit stupid. the chemist said "Oh! That'll be PawPaw cream" !!! She fetched some and verity said "Yes! That's it!" I thought PawPaw cream only came in a tub... never put 2 and 2 together... anyhow I bought it for her and have also applied it to her ezcema... it worked!!! Within about 2 days it was gone. Amazing stuff hey? Also: hey amazing deal with those tiles! I jope they are the ones :)
back later... Niall unsettled now that he has finished his brekkie...

Hello All.
Havent been in for a while to say the least! It seems like all your babies are growing up healthy and strong which is good to hear. Alex is also going great guns, he has been crawling for the past week and a half and has 2 (very sharp!) little teeth. He is generaly a happy contented boy but can also be a hell of a whinger when he feels the need to be!
Anyway I just felt the need to interject here after reading Bath's last post and wanted to clarify something - most of us in the "splinter Junies group" loved posting here and hearing about one anothers babies and lives. It was not as you stated due to how the moderaters moderated BB that we left - it was because we were not comfortable with comments by different members.
I myself am more then happy with the way that BB is moderated and think they all do a wonderful job.
So anyway just wanted to clarify that up. Take care and look after your gorgeous bubs.
-
Hello Gabysmum, try using the "ignore" function which is provided for that situation.
-
Well Rory the weather here is very cloudy.
Dee - Congrats and good for you re wedding. how is Lachlan sleeping now? Enjoy Lachlan not having teeth, less time to worry about looking after them. My ds1 was 1 before he got his 1st tooth.
Nathan got his 1st tooth in the last week, so scared about him biting me and I started getting mastitis again when his tooth was coming thru, not happy.
well I'm lost for words now. Hope everyone is well.
-
Well, Bath, I haven't been treated badly by this erupting tooth...yet...! Oscar does spend more time with his fingers in his mouth, and I've noticed that he uses them to rub his lower gumline...it all makes sense now!
Marley and Lochie - your time will come! Dee and Mel, I thought Oscar would be the last, so now one of you takes the honours LOL!
DP has gone fishing, so he had better come home with something, to take the edge off having left yesterday's dishes piled up on the sink...
I got home late last night from brigade and to bed even later. However, I woke up and was pleasantly reminded that the house is not as messy as it was when I woke up yesterday - with suitcases in the shed, the floor mopped and the table a little tidier. Aside from the sink situation...
I hope I'm allowed to say "Farewell to Simone and the input she had in our thread"(well, I speak for myself at least). Best wishes and hugs to those beautiful children
Did I relate my story about the thrush suspicion? DP thought Oscar had thrush because he noticed red spots on his bum while changing him the other day. I educated him as to the highly likely effect of a gutful of sand passing through said nether regions...he appreciates the function of exfoliation a bit more now, and is using lanolin and sudocrem instead of anti-fungal cream! Kids will eat sand when on a sandy beach...
ETA: Oooh, I feel so rude...yay, Dee, on sorting out the wedding situation!!! You'll have to get a photo page up on the web so we can see piccies of you all!
Karen - you, too, have joined the tooth club!
-
Yes! Dee! I loved your "invitation" to your DF :) I'll be taking notes as my DH and I haven't had a marriage ceremony yet either.... we want to do it properly so are waiting for the the time when it's a financial priority. Fill us in on all the details! :)
-
Wow Dee congrats on the wedding, how exciting, I just love weddings. I have to say that you have set yourself a pretty tough task of organising it in 6 weeks but I am sure that yo will do a wonderful job, the main purpose of the day is your and your DF declaring your love for each, anything else is just icing on the cake. Make sure you get lots of pictures because we would love to see them.
Mel- You gotta love finding a bargain. My DH says something is never a bargain unless it is what you were looking for in the first place, he thinks that if you by soemthing just because it is on special you are actualley spending money and not saving it......pretty good logic (even though I dont tell him that)
It was DH birthday yesterday, we didnt do anything special, just had a quite chinese takeaway for dinner, I bought him the new Dr. Karl book, he just loves reading them and it has become a bit of tradition that I get him one every year for his Bday or Christmas. My BIL and his GF are coming down from the country for the weekend, and we are going out to dinner on Friday night with them and SIL- we do this each year in Jan instead of buying christmas pressies and to celebrate DH, BIL and My birthday which all fall in Jan. My best friend is coming over to baby sit (my friends have all been asking when we are going out so they can have a turn babysitting).
Tori and I are off to our first playgroup session today which I am quite looking forward to, and then I am workign for a few hours this arvo. Got my job application finished and sent off last night, so now it will just be a case of waiting to see if I have the relevant skills and experience to get an interview.......keep your fingers crossed for me!
Anyway best go, I have to go out in 20 mins and I have wet hair, and the brekky dishes need doing.
-
Hiya Ali :) Your DH is, excuse the pun, "right on the money" with that message about "bargains". He must have read Rich Dad Poor Dad... or one of those financial self help books... because i've read the same thing somewhere and it's so true. That's why I keep a constant list of priorities and only buy stuff from that list. Enjoy your first playgroup session... I find they are a bit more easy going than Mother's groups... let us know how you get along :)
I'm feeling dizzy with how much work i'm doing around here AT THE SAME TIME! LOL laundry, beds, kitchen, decluttering all happening at the same time.... whereever Wade needs supervision.
-
Bath - PML about the paw paw cream! It didn't know it came in a tube either. How good is it! So glad to hear it cleared up Veritys eczema - the Pamela Anderson look might look a bit much after a while LOL!!! Chelsea has a bad habit of licking her lips if they get dry and she looks like she has eaten a red icypole. Might put a bit of that on it tonight. Glad to hear your boob situation is not as bad as previous.
Karen - well done Nathan on his first tooth!
IK - hope DP comes home with a big fish for dinner. Would be nice on the barbie! Well done to DP for at least noticing something was wrong - even if he was a bit off the money!!!! Sand in your pants will have that effect
Got to go, Marley awake and very hungry. Will come back later to finish my personals.
-
In the middle of putting a piece of flooring down but just had a minute to say we found the leak and its all fixed...however there is a huge hole in the kitchen!
-
Hi Gabysmum! Alex must be keeping you on his toes now!
Ali- got my fingers and toes crossed for you! How did u find the playgroup? I will be looking for one when i get back up to Sydney i think.
Jess- glad the leaki was fixed, exept for the hole u now have
Karen- WTG Nathan on his first tooth!
Nixon & I went to mums and bubs movie thismorning with 2 others from MG. We saw dreamgirls. however taking Nix to the movies is not as easy as it used to be! he was due for a sleep but didnt want to, was very agitated and wriggly, did get him to nap for about 30min in my arms, the movie just seemed to keep going and going and going, bit long when u have a baby.
-
Now I can get back and finish my personals!
Ali - your DH is very wise! I feel exactly the same way, but my DH and I sometimes differ on that one. The tiles were on a display board when we walked in and I commented on them to DH, we actually agreed straight away - very strange. Then sales guy said they are on special and told us the bargain price. Only downside is if we have any left overs, we can't return them like you normally can with regular prices tiles. No big deal really! I hope you get called back regarding the job - fingers crossed for you. Hope DH has a lovely birthday and you enjoy your weekend and dinner out Friday, sounds like a great weekend.
Jess - at least the leak is fixed. We got told by our water company that we may be eligible for a leakage allowance for our hot water service. We needed a report from our plumber and a meter reading and they average out your water usage over 12 months to determine how much was leakage. Our normal bills during the period were usually on $100 so we might get a bit back from the $422 they have charged! I hope so! Hope you get the hole in the floor fixed soon.
Nic - I wanted to see Dreamgirls too. I used to go to mums and bubs movies with Cheslea and it did get harder the older she got. Did you like the movie or was it just too long?
Just spoke to the wardrobe man to see if he could give me a discount on what he quoted this morning - he is reducing the cost by $57 which is not that much but better than nothing. I wasn't going to ask but thought why not? They are going to install them Tuesday so will need to clear out both girls wardrobes over the weekend in the stinking heat! Great. At least they will have nice wardrobes by next week. I might need to clear them out myself or DH will notice how many clothes I buy for them LOL!!!!
-
LOL Mel: our wardrobes are overflowing with clothes too... mainly kids' clothes of every imaginable size and season. Hey with the floor tiles it's always good to have some left over incase one cracks over time. They are easily stashed away under the house for example. Also they often come in handy for other things like building outside entertainment areas (weather resistence bench tops etc) and sandstone is a very versatile colour.
Just got home from shops... warming up... might make an iced coffee instead of my usual cuppa today.
Oh and Nic: thanks for the heads-up regarding the Snugglers nappies 72 for $12.99 !!! A saving of $13.00. They have changed a bit since I last used them with Wade, hopefully for the better.
-
Bath just a quick one before I go to get the boys, have you done IK's slice with the philly as the iciing yet? If you have how'd it go? And how do you do it cause I'm going to try and do it tonight with the philly on top. I'll be back later.
hugs xoxo
-
Hi Amanda, regarding the slice icing. No I haven't done it for IK's slice yet but I plan to give it a go. What I'd do is try substituting Philly instead of the tablespoon of butter (or whatever) that's required for standard lemon icing. After beating the icing sugar and Philly together add the fresh lemon juice a few drops at a time until you get the right consistency, probably about half a tablespoon. Add some extra lemon zest too. The ingredients aren't terribly expensive so have a bit of a play... experiment and if you get it right then jot down the quantities. If you do a substitution of Philly for butter then it would also have the added bonus of being lower in calories! :)
ETA: after giving it a little more thought you might want to try adding a drop of vanilla essence for more of a cheesecake flavour... oh and don't be frightened of making it a bit thicker than the standard lemon icing that's on the recipe as that's quite a thin, glaze style icing. You might need to use more icing sugar and substitute more Philly for butter than what that recipe states. LOL I really should just do it myself and post the results!
-
It's a teaspoon of butter...which seems too inconsequential for my liking...bring on the calories ;) I might try the philly thingy too...
I just spent the loveliest afternoon meeting up with some of my mothers group at one of the houses. First of all, GREAT house - nice and old, with a huge verandah area and lovely old windows and shaded with creeping vines...reminded me of a Southern USA house (never been, but you know, movies and all!). We had a lovely spread put out for us (I brought mince pies cos ran out of time to bake cookies, and another mummy brought chicken and yet another brought cake - host mummy made such yummy salads for us)...we feel it's raised the bar before the bar was even up, so a little no fair! Anyway, I had been really looking forward to making this appointment (I'm sure they thought I was fobbing them off the past few weeks) and I'm really fond of our final group now :) I was resistant to the idea of catching up afterwards and thought I might just factor it out of my life, but I think I was being some kind of a snob, based on very little. I've copped onto myself now, for the better.
Mel - if you have left over tiles I could offer you a price for them so that I can smash them up and do a token mosaic for the pizza oven/bbq brickwork? DP thinks it's a pipe dream cos I have so many craft projects in mind or half-started (I won't even say half-finished!), but I think I'll start buying single tiles at a time to gather a stash...and then start smashing and grouting!
Oscar has just exploded in his nappy, so I'd better see to it and then tend to laundry and play with the dog. Catch you all later, hopefully...
-
Hello all! Finally I have a moment's peace and time to post!!
My FIL is staying with us this week and next (and last week too - he lives in Warragul but is working in Melbourne ATM) so every day I am having fun socialising with him, and MIL stayed over last night. Went to Poyntons (fancy-pants "garden centre" in Essendon - posh but very friendly) with her and her GF for a walk and lunch and only just got home and settled. She has left now, DH is at uni, FIL is at work and boy is asleep. Ahhh peace!!
Amanda - I sent the vids off yesterday - you should get 'em soon.
Bath - OUCH on the boob front! How is Verity going in preparation for school tomorrow? I remember I was soooo nervous....
Mel - it makes such a difference having decent wardrobes - I love our big built-in in our bedroom - I can have all my clothes (summer and winter) in it without having to resort to storage....(And I did get my Flynn time, thanks!)
Nickers - was Dreamgirls good? I would like to see it (I think I have missed our local M&B session) but my chances of seeing it on DVD are about zero cause DH hates musicals.
Jess - great stuff on the leak! Have you heard anything more about the alpacas? When are all your littlies off to school - this week or next?
Ali - here's hoping that the job goes well! DH is thinking of doing teaching but will be a maths/science teacher, so hopefully his job prospects will be ok.
IK - LOL about the dishes! We have a dishwasher but still they get left in the sink!!
Karen - Flynn has two teeth and I am living in fear of the nip also (shudder) he has tried it once or twice mbut I yelled so loud I think he is scared to now
Gabysmum - another crawler!! My little lump still isn't crawling, but starting to move around on his tummy instead of rolling everywhere (not that I am in a hurry to have him mobile, mind you!!)
Neeny - did you end up going with that agency? As for dentist - I need a check up soon but I think I will wait till next month in terms of $$ cause DH needs to go too and our dentist is in the country (Kilmore). We both might as well make the trip together soon.
KL - you can't pop in and the go AWOL again!! How is little T going?
Well Flynn is teething again - either that or is sick AGAIN! So much for BF babies being resistant to bugs! I think he has a sore throat or really sore gums or something, because he is really clingy and his cry is really sad-sounding, and he is off his food a bit (ie: he doesn't hyperventilate when shown his food bowl anymore). He was up from 3 to 5am last night (or should i say this morning) and although he is tired is having a real hard time getting to sleep for his naps.
Better go and make hay while the boy sleeps and finish cleaning. Haven't managed to do any real work work this week so gotta get on top of that too.....
ciao bellas
ETA : IK, would you like DH to put some pics of his pizza oven during construction on our website - your DH could get some ideas maybe?
-
Rory - that would be great! I hope Flynn's just being Velcro Baby cos he's teething :(
-
Hiya Rory :) Nah, Verity doesn't SEEM nervous... but sometimes she hides it well.
Yep, Niall is the same, trickier to get down for a nap these days... but that's how all mine went at about 7 months so i kinda expected it. I hope Flynn isn't sick and that it's just teething... poor little mite.
I just tried on one of those new Snugglers (crawler size) they are smaller than the equivalent Aldi nappy and look a lot more like Huggies than before, less plasticy, but very light weight. Niall almost immediately did a poo, but it wasn't a blast poo (good onya Oscar!) so it was hard to tell if it would cope with a bigger one. So even though i have half a packet of Aldi's left I might go ahead and use these up first because they are definately smaller.
-
Hi Girlz,
Well we are in our new house, the move went very smoothly with nothing at all broken, very happy about that. I love my tiles, so easy to clean. Nathan doesn't mind crawling on them, which I was afraid he might get sore knees. It's been a week without T.V and kids haven't even asked for it. There are a few girls in the street about the same age as my two older ones and they have been over playing nearly every day. It is so good. My girls love their new school, they were a bit scared on Monday, but they said it went great and they both made friends easily. Hello to everyone, I'm going to pop back through and check out the forum, wow # 31 I think I have missed a couple of threads, lol. You girls talk too much, lol.
Dee
-
Bath- I like the aldi nappies but snugglers were such a good price i had to get some. Ive put Nixon in them before, at first i didnt like them but they have been holding everything in them well so they get a tick from me.
Dee-glad your move went smoothly and your family is setteling in well. Thats great there are some kiddies to play with in the street.
Dreamgirls- i liked it, but as i said i was a bit distracted by Nixon being over tired at first, then wriggly, wanting to get to the lights on the stairs etc the hungry! the signing in it was amazing, good outfits etc i just think they dragged it on a bit. Good cast though
-
Well the hole is fixed...I'll try to take some pics tomorrow!
James ran into our friend who manages the Big Alpaca farm here and he is putting in a good word for James, so on Saturday we are going to ring her and see if we can go up and have a chat to her.
I forgot to tell you(with all the upset yesterday!), yesterday after school we were on our way into town because we needed something at the supermarket, when one of the little 15 yr old brats, decided to be a smart mouth little so and so. As we were going through the round-a-bout he yelled out that James was a "c*cksucker!". Well that was it,this has been going on for 13 months, I yelled at James to pull over and I basically flew out of the car at this little *****. I asked him what we had ever done to him and he replied with the answer, "you got us kicked out of this house(they were living in there illegally!) because you wanted to live there!". I replied with"Do you see us in there? I don't think so!" He then told me to "go back to school you useless bum!" I tend to stammer when I get angry.
I then told James to get back into the car and went to see the police about the abuse and harrassment we have been receiving. After I finished explaining to them what had been happening. They turned around and said to me(you are not going to believe this) 'ignore them and it will stop! WTF!!! I said you expect me to ignore all the abuse and harrassment we receive even when they do it in front of children, I thought the police were there to protect us not tell us to deal with it and not to involve them!
I stormed out of there only after they said they would go and talk to this 15 yr old.
I just can't believe it. Apparently 15 yr old's are allowed to verbally abuse ppl in front of children now!
-
Well I've just spent about an hour catching up on all the posts (and dramas) so to speak.
SO most of my personals probably won't make sense to anyone but you WILL read them anway won't you??!!??
MILESTONES - Ruby doesn't have teeth, can't crawl or sit up yet. but she's very cute!!
MEL - Gosh Chelsea sounds like my Giorgia! G loves to sit and colour in too! In fact I have to keep some special textas and colouring in books for the shops in case I have to bfeed Ruby, and need to give G something to do! Sorry must have missed something - what are the tiles for?
BTW - I went back to work (only p-time) when Ruby was 8 weeks, but I feel great when I'm at work. It's just the drop off and pick up that sux. usually because I am running late and resenting myself for resenting my kids! I find that until I pick them up after work, I feel energised and happy, and once I pick them up I suddenly feel very tired! (not always...!)
LOL at men's only cooking schools - they DO exist. I'm good, my husband is a chef already!! and BATHSHEBA - he's a pastry chef too! Not so good for my muffin top, but usually he is (just) cooking me dinner at home. We had convenience food tonight too, called pasta and tuna(from a can). Fortunately it is the only other food apart from sausages that my daughter will eat.
ALI25- why are you out of work?? I thought you got a full 12 months maternity leave? Good luck with the council thing, teaching should open up a LOT of other positions for you if you can't get back into schools. how did playgroup go? Were the mums nice and inclusive? Did you get to talk to anyone or is Tori crawling all the time? Was playgroup set up to accomodate crawlers? My first one wasn't.
KRISTEE! - hi there! Welcome back, I'm sorry I don't remember you from before, I may not have met you? Anyway, come on in! Everyone here is really lovely and supportive etc.
IK you bloody hippie! you make me feel so guilty walking off to the the servo for environmental reasons! BTW I tried to check out your website but you need a password? (yes?) and you know why I'm civil in here, cause I have no F_ing idea what's going on ever! I'm so blissfully oblivious, of course I'd have a strong opinion if I knew but I never do! Do you do MSN messenger? or have an email addy cause I see you in here but can't contact you (PM) etc.
BATH - can I get your email too? Mine is nixthings@hotmail.com
Hey I just found out there WAS a splinter junies group. I am SOOO dumb! LMAO at myself.
No I'd be civil anyway cause I don't give a rats *ss about what other people think of me, but don't want to hurt others unneccessarily.
also LMAO off at your DH's thrush suspicion. that's so cute! and so male...
Hey Gabysmum - I was just thinking of you this morning and wondering how you were. Is Alex getting into everything? and are you finding it hard to maintain a conversation now as you need to keep running after him?
AMANDA3 - that's cool your schools and childcares are so close, although TBH I'd still drive even if mine were close, I'm so bloody lazy. (you posted a million threads ago that you walked them to school and childcare, you probably don't remember I'm so behind because everyone here POSTS SO MUCH! (good on us)
DEE78 - CONGRATULATIONS! (about the wedding) just make sure you look gorgeous ok! it's all about you babe! I was engaged for 12 weeks, its easy to organise if your not to precious about things like bonbonierres (sp?) or whatever.
BATHSHEBA - pawpaw is amazing for nappy rash too!
Ok. Keep the nice atmosphere going girls, we are all great aren't we! I think we are anyway. but WTF would I know LOL at myself!!
-
Nickel, you are too funny. I am kicking you off the island:D We've NEEDED you this whole time! Please don't go away again!
Jess - the police can be so hand-tied, can't they? Sometimes I wonder what they CAN do! LOL!
Ok, I'm gonna email you, Nickel, so that you can't jump out of the loop...you will henceforth be privy to all the dramas and consternation that the rest of us experience, with no excuse for ignorance... No, bite thy tongue, we are onwards and upwards once again :)
-
D'oh Dee, I forgot to say congrats!! Of all the people to miss in personals (hanging head in shame!)
and to our other dee - congrats on the successful move!
-
IK - sounds like you had a great time. Glad they put on a great spread - now you all have to keep it up. I have been wanting to do mosaic for ages so I have a little collection of tiles under the house. If I have any spare ones, you can have them. You can also ask the tile places if you can purchase or get their cracked or broken ones (you used to be able to anyway) or buy plates, crockery etc from an op shop. My GF's sister did one and she is very arty and it was amazing. I don't think mine will look as good. I have a mosaic table on our decking which inspires me all the time - now just need to get finger out!!!
Rory - great catch up on the personals. I have heard great things about Poyntons. Did you buy anything? Poor Flynn and you must be tired too. Being up at that time would be reminiscent of the early days of having a new baby in house. Marley has had her cranky pants on today too, not sure if teething or just *****ty! I went to the shops to buy my younger brother a birthday present, left at 7pm home by 9pm and she was still up. DH said she was really cranky and every time he put her to bed she screamed. I get home and she is happy and smiling and went straight to bed - he wasn't happy LOL!!! I hope it is just teething and no sickness involved.
Bath - wish Verity luck on her first day at high school. I bet she has a great day. Never tried Snugglers, might have to give them a go. They are definately cheaper than huggies.
7th Heaven - Dee, great to hear you settled in OK and no broken things! Must be a record. Its great to hear the girls love their new school and have found some friends in the street. When do you start uni - you must be getting excited? I get worried about Marley rolling over and hitting her head which she has done a few times (we already have tiles in our family room, we are just updating them), maybe she will work it out and be a bit more careful. Didn't even think about the knee issue but glad to hear it doesn't worry Nathan.
Nic - will have to make sure I go and see the movie without kids, maybe a chick flick movie to go to with girlfriends.
Jess - good luck with alpaca woman. The 15 yo kid sounds like a right pr!ck - great to see how much respect he has for people!
Nickel - we have tiles in our family room which were put down incorrectly and lots of them are cracking and are broken so we are updating them and replacing the whole lot which is a big job. 60m2 of tiles that go in our family room, laundry, hallway and toilet. I totally agree about the pick up and how you feel when you get home!! You are so lucky having a DH that can cook! I get sick of cooking everynight, maybe after cooking school, DH can create somthing that tastes edible. PML about the muffin top!!! I love pastries and anything sweet.
Night all and have a lovely day tomorrow.
-
LOL Mel! I didn't mean to cast nasturtiums on your DH's occupation! OK, maybe I did...a little ;) nite!
-
Night IK!
Good positive feelings happening in here atm....
Pat is asleep, James is asleep, Bella is asleep and I'm on here chatting!
-
quick, go to bed, Jess! I am...hope I dont' wake the boy in the process...
-

Good afternoon Junies... Verity will be home soon from her first day in high school, just a half day, no lessons. School photos were on the agenda... I also took a piccy of her before she set off this morning (she got a lift with our neighbour who also sends her DD to the school.
Jess: any news on Ryn? I can't go searching BB for news... just too busy here... would love an update though.
Mel: I'm thinking of you and your wardrobe installations today LOL are you getting one in your bedroom or is it just the girls? I really miss the walk-in wardrobe we had in our last house... but we've got lots of standard built-in space here I guess.
Niall has crawled into Wade's room.... better go check the floor... back later...

hello girls
well, instead of having a shower I've jumped on BB to see how you are all doing! He he
Baths - wow, I hope Verity's first day was good, she is a pretty and what sounds like clever little girl so I'm sure she had no troubles fitting in and making friends.
All things good here, Ally is not yet sitting or crawling, but she loves to roll all over the house. I've had to put the dog outside as she rolled over towards him and he growled and walked outside... So that was a HUGE warning sign that he is not happy for her to invade his personal space, so I'm not going to risk it. When I'm in the room I build a "huggies" barrier half way down the floor (with Huggies boxes) so Ally can have half the floor and Buddy can have half, that is working for now.
She is mostly sleeping through which is AMAZING, I still wake every few hours though - it is hard to break a six month habbit!
Well, should really go shower now...big hello to everyone
luv

Nic yay for Nixon, I'm glad that he finally likes been on his tummy, I know that all my boys when they sleep on their tummys always have their bums in the air, it's soo cute, I've got a pic of them doing it too.
Rory thanks for that, I'll let you know when I get them, I hope that Flynn is just teething and not sick.
7th Heaven glad to see you got down here safe and sound, once your properly settled we should organise with Neeny to do a meet up, will be great to finally meet you.
Dee what a great idea about the wedding, I hope you really enjoy yourself.
Nickel I remember posting that, I have to walk as we only have the one car and DH uses it to go to work, I'm looking at it as a way to lose some weight as well as having some time with the younger boys too.
Hello to Bath, IK and Jess and anyone else I forgot, it's a bit quite today so I'm off to have a look around.
ETA In the time it's taken to write this and get the boys lunch I've missed two post hello CC and Bath, lol.
hugs xoxo

Well, just heard on the radio that yes, climate change is real and that at the current rate our babies will be 15 when the arctic cap has finally melted away totally. Good on you John Howard and all the other Baby Boomer Generation decision makers who all thought it was just Greenies making up myths :( Good on you Amanda for not buying a second car... the excercise you get from walking everywhere will do wonders for your health and the fitness of your boys... as well as the excellent opportunity to chat properly to them as you walk... AND teach them road safety!
Verity walked home from school... proably about the only girl that did... and she's off to another Little Athletics twilight session tonight... I think I might go along too... she's been breaking a lot of her personal bests lately in her drive to be club champion again this year... it's her last opportunity... next year she will be too old.
Heaven: How are you guys settling in? Getting wet?! Heard also on the news that QLD has had the heaviest rain since 1998... when I was living in Lismore and living in a pub in which all us residents were able to swim through the bar! And we had all the stuff from downstairs in our rooms! hehe ;)

Nic - they look so sweet sleeping on their tum! Marley does it almost every sleep, but sometimes she cracks it when her dummy slips under her and she can't get it. The one downside of having a dummy! Glad to hear Nixon has worked out that sleeping on his tummy is actually pretty good LOL!!
Bath - wardrobes go in on Tuesday. They are just going in the girls rooms, our just needs doors which we will wait until later as it is behind a wall and can't be seen! I am not looking forward to emptying them over the hot weekend but gives me a good excuse to cull what they have. Glad to hear Verity had a good day. I am sure she would have looked great for her photos. Hope Verity does well tonight at Aths- its going to be a warm one tonight too.
CC - great to hear from you. Ally sounds like she is doing very well sleeping through, now to get you to sleep through too! LOL about the huggies barrier, its good to see the boxes get put to good use. It was good that Buddy gave you a warning, sometimes they get a bit frightened of this "thing" rolling towards them - it must look pretty weird for them.
Hi to everyone else! :D
Quiet day here today, just did some shopping at Aldi and a bit of cleaning. DH got home early from work and has taken Chelsea swimming at his mums place. We might go back after dinner if its still hot - I love swimming at night!

JEALOUS!!! I love swimming at night, Mel, but haven't done it since I lived with my parents, and on nights like the ones we've got coming this weekend, I'd nick down at about 1am in the nuddie!
I've just been to Aldi, too. Had to dip into Maxi's in FTG for my biodegradeable washing liquid, organic pasta and some things for a bbq tonight. Oscar is still asleep in the car, windows open, breeze blowing through :)
I'm not going to post a rant here about little Johnnie and his ugly head in the sand, suffice to say that, Bath, your thoughts echo mine.
Dee - glad the move went well! I keep forgetting to write that - I've been hitting and running lately!
Cee Cee - like Mel said, at least you had a warning - some dogs just act out first. My dog just yelps and runs...don't need warning for that!
Ok, gonna go again...
