Tali, thanks for sharing a little bit about you and your family. I can understand about not wanting to keep moving around, you have lived in a few places havent you! I am from Sydney and moved to Melb in 2003 for DH work (the things we do hey!) we had our son down there and have just recently moved back up to Syd after 3.5yrs. currently living with MIL until our house in melb cans sell and we can buy something ourselevs. So i know ive got another move on my hands and if we decide to build again we will prob rent somewhere so could still be 2 moves away from home.......
Amanda- i think Nathan (karen) was born on the 22nd. Hope she pops up soon to say hi.
Happy Birthday Freya, Will & Annaleise!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL & ANNALEISE!!!!
Nans funeral went really well, it was a lovely service and I got to meet many people my nan spoke about but never actually met. One of the nurses from the nursing home who looked after nan on weekends came too which was lovely. Well my speech went OK. IK I should have read your post before today!!!! I decided to just say what came to me and it started off really well and even a few laughs but then I just couldn't keep going, tears started and I had to cut it short. I felt a bit silly and wish I had of been able to finish it, which I probably could of, if I had written things down. Chelsea is my little rock! When I came to sit down, she held and patted my hand and told me "its alright mum"! She is such a sweet soul. Both girls were so good, I was really proud of them. We all went back to nans house and did the final bit of packing as Dad has the removalists coming today. It has been such a hectic week for him, with moving, organising the funeral etc, I think he will be glad when he moves to his new house on Tuesday. We found lots more photo albums and some really old photos from 1912. We even found a bible that was given to my nans mother, by her mother in 1903. She had written details on the inside of it which was amazing. We also found a pair of hand made baby shoes with a leather sole and you could see all the nails in the heel part. Dad had no idea who they belonged to but they are very old. I got to take some beautiful photos of my nan & pa on their wedding day, a portrait of nan when she got engaged and one of my dad and his sister as young children. Its a shame that you tend to go through these things after someone dies. It would have been nice to find out more about the pictures and other old items we found.
Ali - glad everthing went well with you scan and you got the photo OK. If you need details/quantities on the cake, I have the book here, so just email me.
Tali - wow, you have moved alot! It must be nice to stay settled in one place for a while now. It must have been quite hard for you when DH was away all the time.
Nic - the storms in Syd looked really bad and they got heaps of rain. Hope you get to stay in and snuggle up in the nice warm house.
Quiet day here today after a hectic and draining week. The usual boring things like washing etc still needs to be done!
Have a great day everyone! :)

Hi Girls,
Well I not long got home from the Cracker night, it was pretty ordinary, but then again I had my mind and eyes set watching my 5 babies, lol. B Yorn again where the main act. It was okay. Nathan loved the fireworks, he was just in awe of them. Thought it was warmer tonight, but cold snapped at about 9pm so I packed up and we headed back to the car. Twice the girls needed to go to the toilet, so we all went, I took the nappy bag and camera and left the rest on the blanket. The secong time the peopl sitting next to us offered to watch the littlies, I thanked them but said it was fine I'll take them. It was nice of them to offer, but what if........ It was on Surfers Paradise beach....loads of people.......don't know the people...what if, what if, what if.
The kids had a ball and all slept very soundly on the way home. I spoke to Micheal tonight, he's doing great, he likes it over there. I really miss him.
Mel ..... Sorry for your loss
Ik ..... All assignments, I liike assignment better than exams too, lol.
Welcome Tali, glad you joined us
and happy birthday to all our babies.
Okay need to sleep but first just going to check that they all have the covers pulled up, it is sooooo cold.
night girls, stay snug
Bye, Dee

Hi there
Mel - so glad the funeral went well and it sounded like your speach went well even though you couldn't finish it. I'm sure people appreciated that it wasn't rehearsed as such and was totally from the heart.
I think Will had a really nice birthday today. We had the swimming lesson as normal at 9am and they all sang happy birthday in that. Then we went home and tried to prepare for he party. Usually when we have people over i end up trying to do too much and the kids get ignored in the process but i was determined not to let that happen today as it was Will's day and i think we managed it. We were totally not organised for the party but it all came together in the end and even the cake worked. Will had a ball at the party and had some lovely presents then when everyone went (big exhale) we skyped my parents in the Uk so they could sing him happy birthday. he loved his trike and has been using it to walk around with. It's only a cheap and cheerful one but it seems really nice and stable and so low to the ground he can touch it easily with both feet. The only thing i was disappointed with was the photos, the ones from this morning have turned out lovely but the party ones didn't really and the cake (Timmy from Shaun the sheep) looks really poor in the photos but shouldn't have done as i was so suprised how well it turned out. Ive put some photos on my photobucket site - see post #82 (page 5) for login details. Am off for a sit down now just before bed.
Have a great rest of weekend

Hi Everyone,
Happy Birthday to all the Junie Babies that i have missed and for Flynn for tomorrow!!!
WELCOME TALI!
Julie - What a shame about the photos, did you have a video recorder for the party?? They work wonders sometimes when still cameras dont work. Anyway, im sure the cake was wonderful (judging by your train cake!!) Im glad the day went well!!
Dee - Good to hear from you again, Wise move about not leaving the kids with strangers. What has the world come to. Years ago it would have been fine and im sure that those people had the best of intentions but still, its sad that you just cant trust anyone these days!!
Mel - Glad the funeral went ok (as well as it could) i had a tear in my eye while i was reading about your nans friend and i agree with IK i think he died of a broken heart. Its a bit romantic though!
Hope you and the family are ok.
Nic - Are you in Engadine already??? Im heading up toward the end of June, i would love to catch up!!!!
Ali - Great news that the scan went well, are you going to find out what you are having this time around??
CeeCee - Great to hear from you, We will have to organise another meet up, maybe now that Nic is up we might all get together??
Not much happening with me. Lachlan slept from 7pm until 6.30am on Tuesday night, without even stirring (Tali, Lachlan has been a terrible sleeper from birth so while you are thinking that this is normal, its a major breakthrough for me!!)
Since then, he is back to the up twice per night routine! At least i know that he can do it. We have the party on Saturday, lucky it wasnt this saturday, terrible weather.
Still not walking yet, not that it bothers me, but MIL looks at him and says "it must just be a lazy generation". Oh she is so annoying. "Mine were walking from 8 months" Yeh right. It was 9 months the last time i spoke to her!!!
Anyway, i guess i should get back to work. not that there is much to do.
Hope you are all having a great weekend!!!
Hello to IK and Bath and anyone else that i have missed!!
-
Hi All,
Glad to see Kai isn't the only one not walking my other two were quick to walk but she is too fast on her knees so she doesnt try to walk she actully seems a bit scared as when i have tried to stand her on her feet and let go she sits down and then will eaither cry or give me the look of death which has a good one for someone so small. She is know at the playgroup that i go to for the look or the fact that she has small person syndrom as she picks on all the other kids i just tell everyone its the six's comming out in her. But she is a joy to have around but been number three has learned to scream when she wants somthing or if the other 2 are hurting her.
Amanda I will let you know when we move it would be great to catch up. would your mum and dad know which suburbs are the best one to buy and which to stay away from as i know every place has the bad places but the real estates wont tell you that. i know up here its stay away from the sububs starting with M sounds strange I know but thats the way it is up here..
hope everyone is dealing with the cold and those of you is sydney are safe.
Its been very cold up here for us at the moment but it does mean we get to put on some pants for awhile but like someone once asked me " why is it queenslander complain about the cold when they still have bear feet " because as i sit her i have nothing on my feet but i do have my jeans and jumper oh i will nerver learn.
for those of you with more than 3 children how much harder is it as i always said three and no more but now as i look at my growing baby i think maybe i could do it again in a few years .
have a great monday
ps could someone tell me how to put the stuff that you all have at the bottom of your page im not to good with computers thanks

Happy First Birthday Flynn & Ryan!
Bronwyn- welcome tot he group! Happy birthday to Kedon for Thursday!
Mel- glad to hear the funeral went well, i like having a speach written down but sometimes the best speaches are the ones on the spot and from the heart, im sure it was beautiful.
Well Sat night i was at my gf and got a phone call from my sister to say my Nan was taken to hospital.
My nan has been in a home for the past 5 yrs and we really did not think she would still be here 5 years later. She is a skeleton of her former self. She has a broken leg (for over a yr which cannot be mended) cannot see, sometimes is with it other days is not, barely eats & her skin is going all aweful just about everything in her has shut down. But something keeps her going. Anyway that day while driving to my gf i thought i need to go see Nan as i havent been to see her since ive been back in syd and havent seen her since xmas.
then i got the phone call. I couldnt bare the thought of her passing through the night and i had not seen her, so i left Nixon at my friends and went to the hosp (was only 15min from where i was) She had a heart attack or so they thought. But there wasnt much that can be done so over night she was transfered back to the home.
Then less then 24hrs later she was taken back to hosp (last night) with a very bloated stomach. She is still there, they took x rays today but dont have results back yet.
so anyway now we just wait and see.
My SIl is Finally going to have her baby tomorrow! she is almost 2 weeks overdue so going in to be induced tomorrow morning!
i hope everyone had a great long weekend
-
Hi Bronwyn - hows it going? sorry - i dont use msn - just chat in here!
Nickers - sorry to here about your nan - hope she is comfortable. Goodluck to your SIL tomorrow
:confetti:Happy Birthday Flynn & Ryan :confetti:
Kids being super cling-ons today, can't get anything done. Also they are sleeping in shifts which is abit of a bugger as desperately need to go shopping - absolutely no food in the house. Hoping they both wake at 4pm so i can go then.

Mel- Iam glad the funeral went well, I hope you, your family and your Nan have all found some peace.
Nic- Sorry to hear about your Nan, it is just not fair when they start to fade away and yet their body refuses to give up.
Well our big news of the weekend is Tori has started to walk, she hasnt chosen it as her main form of transport yet but she has walked across rooms several tiems over the weekend and can walk and stop without falling over and take off again.
I also wanted to send out birthday hugs and kisses for all those I have missed, I have been lax at getting in here to wish happy birthday but I have been thinking of you all as the month ticks on.
-
Happy Birthday Flynn!!!!!
Rory - I hope Flynn had a wonderful 1st birthday and that he wasn't unwell with his cold. Hope you got some pics!
Nic - I can totally understand how you are feeling. It was good that you got to see her even though she probably didn't look so good. I am sure she knew you were there though. My thoughts are with you and hope she finds some peace soon. Have you had much rain, looks pretty bad in some parts but I'm not sure where you are in relation to the floods etc. Wishing your SIL a quick labour tomorrow!
Julie - Will looks like her really loves his trike! Looks like he had a good birthday and the cake looked wonderful. Hope you managed to get some shopping done, this house is nearly out of food too!!!
Tali - Marley is not walking yet either, but she can navigate very quickly around the furniture and scream out very loudly if Chelsea has taken something off her or is trying to hurt her. I'm sure she will learn to fight back quite well as she gets older. To get a ticker, you just google "Tickers" and you have a big choice. Just follow the prompts and you will have one. There is a thread somewhere about them too, not sure where though?
Bronwyn - hi and welcome to the group. Tell us a bit more about you and your family? I don't get too much time on messenger, mainly just get to chat in here like Julie!
Ali - well done to Tori on starting to walk! It doesn't take them long to get the hang of it and then there is no stopping them.
Dee - the family are doing well after nans funeral. We are going to the funeral of nans friend on Wednesday as I am sure she would have wanted us to go. Bet you had a wonderful sleep when Lachlan slept through, hope he can do it again for you. LOL about your MIL and the "lazy generation"! They say the most ridiculous things sometimes. All kids walk when they are ready, not point rushing it.
Had my nieces party yesterday at a play centre. The kids had a ball, they had a huge slide which kept them occupied for ages. They had booths were each party would sit and have their food. Chelsea sat up with her cousin and her friends, ate lots then they all ran off to play. I was watching her for a while then started chatting to some people and noticed I couldn't see her. I started to panic and went looking for her. Couldn't find her in the play area and was walking back when I found her. She had decided to join another party and was sitting up in another booth eating some more food with a whole heap of other kids she didn't know!!!! I was PML!!!! She was having a great time, not bothered by the fact that she knew no one. Someone was even taking photos of all the kids eating and Chelsea put down her food and smiled for the camera. They are probably going to get their photos and think who the hell is this kid???? I couldn't go and get her, I was laughing too much so my SIL got her. When she came back, I explained that she couldn't go back and she started to cry and told me she just wanted to go back and finish her food!!! God love her! I then had to explain again that she didn't know them and couldn't go back. Finally she understood!

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY FLYNN AND RYAN
Hope you both had a wonderful birthday.
Welcome Bronwyn.
Well we spent 3 hrs at the emergency department today, Lockie threw a brick and it got Kailen on the top of his head, so 3 hrs later and 3 stiches later we got home. There was lots of blood and he got to suck on the happy gas and he was still fidgeting while the Dr was trying to stiched up.
Will do better personals tomorrow ladies, hope you all have a great night.
hugs xoxo
-
Good morning Junies... just feeding Niall his brekkie...OOoh Amanda! I hope Kailen is feeling more comfortable now poor boy! Will the scar show or is it under hair? (gotta get Wade a crumpet)... Is he on painkillers still? Must have been so worrying for you... are they going to do x-rays?
I've got to get ready for PlayGroup soon but I just wanted to say that I had tears of laughter streaming down my face at Chelsea's party fun Mel!!! I can't wait to meet her!
And Happy Birthday for yesterday Flynnie!!!! How good that it fell on a public holiday! The Queen's Birthday will probably define the date for him... like Guy Fawke's Night (if anyone can remeber fire-cracker night LOL showing my age here!) define's my DHs birthday. His mum was listening to them go off as she was pushing him out into the world in the country hospital where he was born.
Ok... back after playgroup!
-
Amanda - Hope Kailen is feeling better!
Nickers - Thank you for the birthday wishes for Kedon. Scary thought that my baby is growing up! Hope your Nan is comfortable and they find some answers healthwise.
LoveMyGirls - Chelsea sounds gorgeous , so cute about joining the other party
Ali25 - Congrats on Tory walking. I was hoping Kedon might get to it before his birthday, but he's happy cruising along furniture still.
PlonkeeMumma - Hi!
Us - A bit more about me/us! I'm 33, and living in Adelaide with my DP, and we have Sarah, 16, Cameron, 12, Matthew 12 .. and of course Kedon. I have a huge range of interests which include, scrapbooking, dining out, travel, music... and I love having a BBQ get together, or a coffee & chat!
Will make an effort to get in here reguarly and post, and hopefully get to know everyone better. Where is everyone from??
-
Hi all,
well not much update on my nan, she is still in hosp and they wont even say much as in what is up with her. She still has a bloated stomach and havent got the xray results back (prob today)
SIL has been induced, have a feeling it may be a long day for her though. I have to drop nix off at my sisters this arvo and usually stay out at mums as i work tomorrow and she mincds him but depending on when bub is coming i will work around that. Its National Premmie day today and there is a gathering out at penrith this arvo. again i was going to go but will all depend on my little nephews arrival.
penrith is a long way out for me but only 30min from my parents.
Mel- we got a tonne of rain where i am but nothin like up Newcastle, no flooding or anything
Bronwyn- you have a big gap between your children and kedon, how do u find it? Are Cameron & Matthew twins?
Way to go Tori on walking!
-
Back again... Hiya Bronwyn, lovely to meet you :) I live about 12kms NE of Melbourne's CBD and also have 3 children (as you can see from my avatar: A daughter 12yo, son 3.5yo and of course a June baby who is turning 1 yo tomorrow. I've just finished cooking his cake (rainbow marble) and waiting for it to cool so that I can ice it with lots of miniature marshmallows. Keeping it simple this year... our neighbours with children approximately the same age as our boys are going to come over after dinner at about 7pm tomorrow night to help celebrate if I can organise myself! Niall is into absolutely everything and I can barely type this without jumping up every minute...
Nic: Hope is all progressing well with your SIL... make sure you let us know what she has (sorry if you know and already posted it) I've been having a hard time giving my full attention to BB these days... kinda just read/post what I can and where-ever I find myself... not able to be as 'systematic' as I used to ie first read my Junie's thread, reply, then browse other threads, reply etc...
infact now I have to stop and deal with Niall who will not leave Wade alone... keeps reaching up and grabbing at jig-saw pieces which is driving Wade nuts...
-
Amanda - poor Kailen! Hope his head feels a bit better today. I'm sure he'll love telling that story to his mates at school. Did Lockie get a fright?
Bath - don't worry, I remember Guy Fawkes night too!!!! We used to live in Rowville in the late 70's and there were paddocks all around us. Cracker night was the best fun and we used to sit in the paddocks and watch them. I'm suprised none of us got injured as they were pretty dangerous! Had to PML about your MIL giving birth to the sound of fireworks, wonder if it was a hindrance or a help? Cake sounds beautiful, don't forget to take pics as your cakes are always a work of art. I have finally found an egg-free/dairy-free cake for Marleys b'day, it was hard and I have only found one decent one! I'm sure Niall will love his cake.
Nic - glad to hear you weren't flooded out, it looks terrible in some areas. Hope things are progressing well for your SIL.
Bronwyn - I am another Melb girl living in the south eastern suburbs. Currently on maternity leave, due to go back to work in 3 weeks. I have 2 girls, Chelsea is 4.5 and Marley is 1 next week. Coffee and a chat is my ideal way to spend an afternoon! Oh and also going out for dinner without children. How do you find the bigger age gap between the kids?
Chelsea is at kinder today so the house in clean and quiet LOL!! Marley has been in such a funny mood today, she hasn't stopped giggling and smiling. She makes me laugh so much sometimes. She has taken to dancing when she hears music on TV, then usually falls over as she tends to go at it a bit hard! My dad moved into his new house today so he was very excited when he rang this morning to say he was in. Now the horrible task of unpacking everything.
Hope everyone is having a good day, time for a cuppa! :)
-
Hiya Mel... just about to join you in that cuppa... finished icing Niall's cake and it's on my PhotoBucket site (not Niall's website) under "creations". As I said it's a very simple one... cost me $3.75! to make.... hope the marbling effect worked inside.
ok... now to clean up the mess... not just in the kitchen! The boys had too much free reign when i was focused on the cake! uh oh...
Oh and good news is that my dried up left side now seems to be functioning again! (thanks to lactation tablets) yay! I just want to get through winter.
-
Hi all - have been very lax with posting lately - busy with work, preparations for Flynn's birthday party, and now DH and I are both sick! At least yesterday was a "day off" and I am having a sickie today, and tomorrow is also my "day off" but I think I will call in sick cause I am supoosed to work at home - I slept 12 hours last night, not straight of course, but DH got up for Flynn each time (F is also sick :( )
Flynnie's party was a hit, even with all of us being unwell - we were really careful to not cough on food and wash our hands millions of times when making the cake (a big dinosaur!) so hopefully one one will catch anything from us. I can't believe it was a year ago! All weekend I kept playing through my mind what I was going thru this time last year - birthdays take on such a bigger meaning once you have your own children, don't they?
Better go - I feel like I am neglecting Little One by not posting in my pg journal - I have just been so stuffed lately with this damn cold/flu!!
finally, Hi to all, esp Bron, our newbie!
-
Rory - Hope Flynn had a good birthday and that your all feeling better soon.
Ali - Yay on Tori walking - can she come and give Will some lessons?? I meant to say earlier good news on your NT scan being good - even popped in on Friday night specially to check then forgot to post - so stupid sometimes!
Mel - Cheers re Wills' cake. Shopping got started at 5pm with DH then we ended up getting takeaway noodles as it was so late when we finished. They do a kids rice dish which doesn't have much salt and stuff in it so i gave some to Will (very slack giving a 1 year old take out i know) then had abit of a panic half way through when i realised it had egg in it and he hadn't had it before. he seems fine though so i guess it was ok. I just didn't think but of course it would have been egg frried rice - derrr! PMSL re Chelsea joining another party to ge the food - so funny bless her. Will is dancing to any music too - so cute. Envious of your clean and quiet house! Mine is quiet as both asleep but stil messy as i am here instead of tidying!
Bath - I'm a brit so we still have bonfire night (aka guy fawkes night) there - so it used to happen here also? i do miss it but i don't miss dodging the scary kids who throw fireworks for a month either side while the shops can still sell them. Nialls cake looks great btw.
Bronwyn - I'm into scrapbooking too but am a newbie so haven't done much yet - just afew layout but i make alot of my own cards. So do your older one babysit Kedon so you can go out? How cool if they do! i'm in Perth, have been here since last Sept and was in Townsville for 4 years before that - UK before then. I'm a SAHM and we are hoping for #3 sometime soon.
Nic - Hope your nan is ok and that your sil bub arrives quickly for her. Glad you didn't get flooded out - looks scary on the news.
Amanda - Ouchie for Kailen, hope he's ok. He's now got some serious guilt ammunition to use on Lockie for the rest of time!
having a nice day so far - went to walking group and its lovely and sunny and abit nippy. Will slept the whole time and oscar played well with the other kids so was quite peaceful compared to normal. The kids are still snotty but i guess they are actually feeling better as they are not so clingy and whingey. Hi to everyone else - IK hows it going? are you still cramming for exams? Hope you are all having a nice day.
Julie x
-
oh i meant to add last time Bronwyn (and Julie) i am into scrapbooking aswell! there is a thread somewhere here on BB which u might get good hints & tips from! I have some of my earlier scrapbooking pages on Nixon's website. I did a whole day of it about 2 weeks ago but then never get a chance to keep it going.
Amanda- i hope Kailen is ok poor thing ouch. i bet poor Lauchlan felt pretty horrible for what he did to his bro too.
well MIL has just made her way into the hosp with my nephew. no one has heard anything from SIL all day, dunno if just going in with a 2.5yr old though was the best move. I told her i would be back to mind him (i dropped Nix to my mums) but she didnt wait. So still no news she did have a very long labour with her first so looks like a long one this time too
-
Time for a new thread ladies :D
