Hi all- certainly is party season in the house of the Junies!
Mel- Sorry to hear about your Nan, I hope that tomorrow isnt too sad for you and your family.
Dee- Glad to hear your teaching prac went well, it always gives me a warm fuzzy when I hear some describing teaching with as much love and enthusiam as I have for it.
Well I am off for my NT scan tomorrow, I cant believe that I am 12 weeks preg already, it has just flown by, this baby is going to be hear before I know it.
I have renegotiated my hours at work so I now only have to go in 3 days instead of 4 which I think will be a lot better for me. I will now work all day monday, till 2 on tues and till 12 on Weds and have thurs, fri off. It was just all getting abit too much for me, and I felt like I never got to spend any time with Tori, because if I wasnt working I was busy trying to get at home stuff done.
We are busily organising Tori's birthday parties, she is having the first one on the 16th up at FIL's place with all DH's country relatives, her next is the 24th, this will just be a small gathering of my family and our friends for a BBQ and then Tanya and I are having a joint little morning tea for TOri and Lucas on the 29th will their little friends.
Has anyone made the picture frame cake from the WW kids birthday cook book? I am making it for Tori and Lucas' party and have a lovely photo of the 2 of them together but I dont actualley have that book, is it hard?
Anyway better go, Tori is alseep in her pram (she is a bit under the weather again, cutting 2 more teeth- hopefully the last for a while) and I should get something done while Ive got the opportunity.

Gotta be quick - my poor lamb has a cold, and right before his birthday (which is monday). Welcome Tali, hi to everyone else.....
-
Nic - I was going to spell Marley's name like that but decided that she would be spelling it for the rest of her life LOL!!
Bath - Marley is having her injections on her birthday (how awful am I!!!)
IK - bugger about the dogs!!!!! Your leftovers sound delicious and even more so after a night in the fridge. Things always taste better the next day. I made a yummy veg curry on Monday night and it was much better when I had it for lunch on Tuesday. Hope Oscar manages to get a snooze in without the dogs waking him.
Tali - welcome to the group. What a freaky birth date but so easy to remember. Hope Kailaia had a wonderful 1st birthday. All you kids have such lovely names, unusual. Where did the names come from?
Ali - thanks for you thoughts. Good luck with the NT scan tomorrow. 3 days work sounds much more manageable than 4. I made the picture frame cake for Chelseas 3rd birthday and it was soo easy. When I stuck my photo in, I used the plastic/perspex from a photo frame to go over it, that way the photo stayed in place and didn't get icing and everything on it. Make sure you load it up with lollies!!! I will email you a copy of the picture. It turned out so good and the kids enjoyed picking the lollies off.
Rory - poor Flynn! Hope it disappears before his birthday.
Funeral for my nan is tomorrow. The funeral home have been fantastic and organised everything for my dad. Nan had a special friend called Albert (his wife and my nan were best friends and met when they were in their early 20's) and when his wife died and my pa died, they started to see each other on a regular basis. He came to have dinner with her every Sat night, he is almost completely blind but caught a taxi every Sat. Very sweet! He has been in hospital after having a stroke a few weeks ago. He phoned Dad on Monday to get a lift to the funeral and asked Dad to organise a single long stemmed red rose to place on Nans coffin. Well Dad received a call from his son this morning to say that he passed away in the early hours this morning! He had a brain bleed on Tuesday and went into a coma, then passed away. Can you believe it? Well I hope they all get to meet up in heaven. My dad also sprung on me this afternoon that he would like me to speak at the funeral! A bit of notice would have been nice! I have been madly trying to right a speech down but haven't gotten far. I will try to keep it brief and maybe "wing it" on the day. I would have liked to think about it a bit more and have more time to write something. I will be glad when tomorrow is over.

Mel - sound to me like your nan's friend died of a broken heart :( One of my great uncles passed away shortly after one of my other great uncles died, and they were close, so we say he died of a broken heart, too. At least it adds a bit of symmetry to an event. About this eulogy. I don't know if this will help, but here goes. Our last few funerals for elderly family members have had people speak about their own memories of their young days with the person, any outings or special occasions that were memorable, funny things they used to do or were known for, and things that will always remind the speaker of that person. For example, DP joked about when his aunt was near the end of her driving career and how he was relieved when she stopped driving because she was driving the Beetle but couldn't see above the steering wheel...and asking him to look for things on the road! He and his brother also mentioned her famous scrambled eggs and some other culinary specialties. Making fond jest of the ability to hoard is another nice touch, oddly enough- sounds like she did that all right! Favourite songs that you remember (DP sang a rendition of one of his dad's drunk camping songs), etc. Don't know if that will help at all, but it gave mileage to the eulogies at our funerals. I would advise against leaving too much to 'winging it', because you don't want it to look like you don't care what you're saying. Point form is good, and if you feel confident when you're up there you can expand on those things a bit more. Having a good natured laugh at your nan's expense is perfectly acceptable and really eases everyone there and it becomes a celebration of a life, rather than merely a marking of a passing :)
Oscar did get back to sleep...three hours later! but he's asleep again and we're off to bed now.
Ali - so glad you're workload has eased! Have fun with Tanya, sounds like a good plan. Good one for organising more than one party, too. We're doing one, and it's turned out bigger than originally planned, but by inviting our closest brigade friends (and they're around us more than extended family is, so they have to be here) it's become a bit more of an event. Still, not too many people, but it will be if it rains and it's freezing cold. I'm hoping we get RSVP's from people who have to decline! The invite turned out nicely, I might stick it up on Photobucket, but a copy has gone into Oscar's record book.
Needles - Oscar's having his the week after his birthday, I'm pretty sure. I hope it's not the same week - I'll have enough pain to worry about with my exams! Given the injuries he has done to himself of late, it shouldn't be as huge a drama as it was the first time (that was the worst, by far).
Ok, well and truly due for bed time!

hi girls,
just a quick check in to say hi... Mel, sorry to hear about your Nan - HUGS...
12 month injections: my doctor told that that unlike the previous neddles these will be "live" viruses (or whatever he called them), so they ARE likely to cause a reaction, so he told me to wait until after her birthday parties / visitors ect.. to get them (MMR)...poor little bubs..
going to go back and read old posts to see what eveyone has been up too..
Cheers!

As i have some time today thought i would tell you a bit about my family. i ment my husband when i was 16, we got married when we were 18, and have now been married for 10 happy years ,for the last 11 year he has been in the Navy so has been away a lot. now he is working in the mines and flys in and out 2 weeks working and 1 week home which believe it or not is heaps better than what we were doing last year. 6weeks after i had kai he had to move to sydney while we had to stay in cairns, as mayleaka has raynards and cant deal with cold he was ment to come home every 2 mths but we only got to see for two week in 9mths so we are happy he got out. We are hoping to move down to hervey bay next year. we have lived in sydney which is where i had my 1st child Zayden 6 weeks after he was born we moved to darwin, we were there for 9mth then moved to cairns for 3 yrs which is where i had my 2nd child mayleaka 3 weeks after she was born we were moved back to darwin we stayed there for 14mth when we were moved to melbourne which is how we worked out may couldn't live down there due to the cold so 9 mths later we moved back to darwin we were only in dawin for 9mths before i came back to cairns when i was 35 weeks pregnant with kai so now i am hoping i will feel settled in hervey bay when we move as i really dont want to move again. as it is poor zayden has been to 4 schools in 3yrs. so thats my life so far hope everyone has a great weekend
-
Tali my mum and dad live in Hervey Bay, it's really nice there and we visit a few times a year, so once you move we can have a meet up if you like when I'm up that way.
hugs xoxo

Tali, thanks for sharing a little bit about you and your family. I can understand about not wanting to keep moving around, you have lived in a few places havent you! I am from Sydney and moved to Melb in 2003 for DH work (the things we do hey!) we had our son down there and have just recently moved back up to Syd after 3.5yrs. currently living with MIL until our house in melb cans sell and we can buy something ourselevs. So i know ive got another move on my hands and if we decide to build again we will prob rent somewhere so could still be 2 moves away from home.......
Amanda- i think Nathan (karen) was born on the 22nd. Hope she pops up soon to say hi.
Happy Birthday Freya, Will & Annaleise!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILL & ANNALEISE!!!!
Nans funeral went really well, it was a lovely service and I got to meet many people my nan spoke about but never actually met. One of the nurses from the nursing home who looked after nan on weekends came too which was lovely. Well my speech went OK. IK I should have read your post before today!!!! I decided to just say what came to me and it started off really well and even a few laughs but then I just couldn't keep going, tears started and I had to cut it short. I felt a bit silly and wish I had of been able to finish it, which I probably could of, if I had written things down. Chelsea is my little rock! When I came to sit down, she held and patted my hand and told me "its alright mum"! She is such a sweet soul. Both girls were so good, I was really proud of them. We all went back to nans house and did the final bit of packing as Dad has the removalists coming today. It has been such a hectic week for him, with moving, organising the funeral etc, I think he will be glad when he moves to his new house on Tuesday. We found lots more photo albums and some really old photos from 1912. We even found a bible that was given to my nans mother, by her mother in 1903. She had written details on the inside of it which was amazing. We also found a pair of hand made baby shoes with a leather sole and you could see all the nails in the heel part. Dad had no idea who they belonged to but they are very old. I got to take some beautiful photos of my nan & pa on their wedding day, a portrait of nan when she got engaged and one of my dad and his sister as young children. Its a shame that you tend to go through these things after someone dies. It would have been nice to find out more about the pictures and other old items we found.
Ali - glad everthing went well with you scan and you got the photo OK. If you need details/quantities on the cake, I have the book here, so just email me.
Tali - wow, you have moved alot! It must be nice to stay settled in one place for a while now. It must have been quite hard for you when DH was away all the time.
Nic - the storms in Syd looked really bad and they got heaps of rain. Hope you get to stay in and snuggle up in the nice warm house.
Quiet day here today after a hectic and draining week. The usual boring things like washing etc still needs to be done!
Have a great day everyone! :)

Hi Girls,
Well I not long got home from the Cracker night, it was pretty ordinary, but then again I had my mind and eyes set watching my 5 babies, lol. B Yorn again where the main act. It was okay. Nathan loved the fireworks, he was just in awe of them. Thought it was warmer tonight, but cold snapped at about 9pm so I packed up and we headed back to the car. Twice the girls needed to go to the toilet, so we all went, I took the nappy bag and camera and left the rest on the blanket. The secong time the peopl sitting next to us offered to watch the littlies, I thanked them but said it was fine I'll take them. It was nice of them to offer, but what if........ It was on Surfers Paradise beach....loads of people.......don't know the people...what if, what if, what if.
The kids had a ball and all slept very soundly on the way home. I spoke to Micheal tonight, he's doing great, he likes it over there. I really miss him.
Mel ..... Sorry for your loss
Ik ..... All assignments, I liike assignment better than exams too, lol.
Welcome Tali, glad you joined us
and happy birthday to all our babies.
Okay need to sleep but first just going to check that they all have the covers pulled up, it is sooooo cold.
night girls, stay snug
Bye, Dee

Hi there
Mel - so glad the funeral went well and it sounded like your speach went well even though you couldn't finish it. I'm sure people appreciated that it wasn't rehearsed as such and was totally from the heart.
I think Will had a really nice birthday today. We had the swimming lesson as normal at 9am and they all sang happy birthday in that. Then we went home and tried to prepare for he party. Usually when we have people over i end up trying to do too much and the kids get ignored in the process but i was determined not to let that happen today as it was Will's day and i think we managed it. We were totally not organised for the party but it all came together in the end and even the cake worked. Will had a ball at the party and had some lovely presents then when everyone went (big exhale) we skyped my parents in the Uk so they could sing him happy birthday. he loved his trike and has been using it to walk around with. It's only a cheap and cheerful one but it seems really nice and stable and so low to the ground he can touch it easily with both feet. The only thing i was disappointed with was the photos, the ones from this morning have turned out lovely but the party ones didn't really and the cake (Timmy from Shaun the sheep) looks really poor in the photos but shouldn't have done as i was so suprised how well it turned out. Ive put some photos on my photobucket site - see post #82 (page 5) for login details. Am off for a sit down now just before bed.
Have a great rest of weekend

Hi Everyone,
Happy Birthday to all the Junie Babies that i have missed and for Flynn for tomorrow!!!
WELCOME TALI!
Julie - What a shame about the photos, did you have a video recorder for the party?? They work wonders sometimes when still cameras dont work. Anyway, im sure the cake was wonderful (judging by your train cake!!) Im glad the day went well!!
Dee - Good to hear from you again, Wise move about not leaving the kids with strangers. What has the world come to. Years ago it would have been fine and im sure that those people had the best of intentions but still, its sad that you just cant trust anyone these days!!
Mel - Glad the funeral went ok (as well as it could) i had a tear in my eye while i was reading about your nans friend and i agree with IK i think he died of a broken heart. Its a bit romantic though!
Hope you and the family are ok.
Nic - Are you in Engadine already??? Im heading up toward the end of June, i would love to catch up!!!!
Ali - Great news that the scan went well, are you going to find out what you are having this time around??
CeeCee - Great to hear from you, We will have to organise another meet up, maybe now that Nic is up we might all get together??
Not much happening with me. Lachlan slept from 7pm until 6.30am on Tuesday night, without even stirring (Tali, Lachlan has been a terrible sleeper from birth so while you are thinking that this is normal, its a major breakthrough for me!!)
Since then, he is back to the up twice per night routine! At least i know that he can do it. We have the party on Saturday, lucky it wasnt this saturday, terrible weather.
Still not walking yet, not that it bothers me, but MIL looks at him and says "it must just be a lazy generation". Oh she is so annoying. "Mine were walking from 8 months" Yeh right. It was 9 months the last time i spoke to her!!!
Anyway, i guess i should get back to work. not that there is much to do.
Hope you are all having a great weekend!!!
Hello to IK and Bath and anyone else that i have missed!!
-
Hi All,
Glad to see Kai isn't the only one not walking my other two were quick to walk but she is too fast on her knees so she doesnt try to walk she actully seems a bit scared as when i have tried to stand her on her feet and let go she sits down and then will eaither cry or give me the look of death which has a good one for someone so small. She is know at the playgroup that i go to for the look or the fact that she has small person syndrom as she picks on all the other kids i just tell everyone its the six's comming out in her. But she is a joy to have around but been number three has learned to scream when she wants somthing or if the other 2 are hurting her.
Amanda I will let you know when we move it would be great to catch up. would your mum and dad know which suburbs are the best one to buy and which to stay away from as i know every place has the bad places but the real estates wont tell you that. i know up here its stay away from the sububs starting with M sounds strange I know but thats the way it is up here..
hope everyone is dealing with the cold and those of you is sydney are safe.
Its been very cold up here for us at the moment but it does mean we get to put on some pants for awhile but like someone once asked me " why is it queenslander complain about the cold when they still have bear feet " because as i sit her i have nothing on my feet but i do have my jeans and jumper oh i will nerver learn.
for those of you with more than 3 children how much harder is it as i always said three and no more but now as i look at my growing baby i think maybe i could do it again in a few years .
have a great monday
ps could someone tell me how to put the stuff that you all have at the bottom of your page im not to good with computers thanks
