Bath - sounds like you are having a lovely lazy weekend. Soup sounds lovely - i could just go some lentil soup. That's good that you get a replacement and extra engine with your Thomas recall.
Having a nice weekend so far. Went swimming on Saturday and no one else in Will's class turned up so we had a private lesson - he really enjoyed it and even went under twice and didn't mind so that was good. He also crawled across the mat to me twice without crying which was great. Then went home via muzzbuzz so had coffee and cake. Put them down for an early sleep so we could be at a local park for my friend's Junie triplets birthday. It was so lovely i think it was the best kids party we'd been too. The bit of food were great, my friend had done an awesome job of the 'one' cake and had also done individual cup cakes for the kiddies that she's made for the triplet's taste ie one of them likes elmo, one had a car and the little girl had a flower. Her older girl and Oscar and a couple of kids similar ages had an absolute ball and Osc ran around so much he nearlly fell asleep in the car on the way home at 5pm and we only live 5 mins away. Will loved it also as he got to crawl around the toddler bit and onto the play stuff as that bit of the park is designed for toddlers and it's perfect. The kids were on a sugar high but hopefully exercised it all off although they're both a bit sooky today so i don't know if they've got sugar 'hangovers!'. Will's woke up last night at 1.30 for a feed! He often wakes for his dummy but very rarely for a feed. He wasn't crying but stood up in his cot - threw his dummy out and started giggle oh ohhhhh which was so cute i couldn't feel grumpy so gave him a quick feed and put him back down. DH let me have a great big lie in this mornign so i didn't get up till 9.30 and now he's taken Oscar out to fetch doughnuts for coffee and cake this morning while Wills' is asleep so i get peace on here. MMM i think we need to cut down on the sugar over the weekends! Not sure what we'll do today, we were going to drive down to our block to see if they did start it on Thursday but i'm not sure now.
Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Julie - lovely Sunday! Hope the sugar hangover wears off soon!! I'm hoping to find a very low sugar cake recipe to make for Oscar's birthday so that he can have his cake and eat it too - he hasn't had much in the way of sugar thus far, and I'd rather hold off for as long as possible. Hope there's some progress on your block!
Bath - might have to look for that DVD. Another great animal movie is Cats and Dogs - hilarious, with breed-specific humour that just killed me.
I'm waiting for my mum to turn up before she drives back to the country. I was hoping she'd come earlier so that I could top up the firewood while Oscar was asleep (in case he woke up) but she didn't arrive so I took my chances a few minutes ago and have enough wood to tide me over till DP gets back from fishing. He's gone with a friend and his brother and nephew. I was going to let him take Oscar (they weren't going in a boat), but they were on the tear last night and DP didn't get home till about 3am...no way was I going to let him have Oscar! He's happy to tell me off for not studying, but he's not listening when I say it's just one more week of taking up my slack with the house and with Oscar and then I'm back on board. Nope, why should he put his socialising on hold just because I've got exams? McFly (tap on head!) - this course is for ALL OF US, it's part of our long-term plan, or I would be happier to concentrate all of my energies on Oscar and maybe even number 2!! Men!
OK, back to study while the kid is asleep and while I wait for my mum to turn up...
ETA: apologies for that pop culture reference, there's a bit of Back to the Future in all of us, isn't there?

Hi Girls...
HUGE Birthday hugs for the bubbas I have missed, extra hugs your way!
Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes for Kedon, we had a fantastic day!!
When I had Kedon last year, I had an Amniotic Fluid Embolism, which happens 1 in 40,000 births, and usually kills the Mother ..... so it was an emotional day for our family, very bittersweet. Thankfully alot of my friends from Mums Group that I started came over for the day and helped celebrate!! The hospital where I had Kedon had an AFE 12 years ago, and the Mum and Baby both died, so that played in my head alot :(
For those interested, my photobucket site username is kedon_mum and password is kedon1. Have updated a few pics, a few more to come too :)
Julie - Sounds like the birthday party was fun! I can't imagine having triplets, my hat goes off to her. Kedon was one of a twin pregnancy, unfortunately the other egg died early on, and I still wonder how I would have managed 2 babies with everything that happened. Speaking of sleeping in, I got to sleep until 11 this morning too.. and got up to a cooked brunch. Wouldn't swap my man for the world!
Baths - Mmmm soup sounds good. I really need to get a good ham and pea recipe, nothing beats soup and fresh bread, you've made me drool hehe
Plonkee - Hope Wills is feeling better, birthday hugs his way with extra healthy vibes.
Mel - Happy Birthday to Marley for Tuesday xoxo
Can I ask a favour (if everyone's happy with it) could someone post the birthday list again, with the state each person lives in? Would be nice having an idea where everyone is for us newbies :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend

Bath - lentil soup sounds delicious! I hope you had a nice relaxing day yesterday, todays a good day for it too LOL!!! Had a friend over for dinner last night and we had a curry feast. He made a beef curry and I did a veg one with lentils, roasted pumpkin and cauliflower. We had all the trimmings too, nan bread, papadums, chutney and yoghurt. Even made my bread and butter pudding! Will definately look out for that DVD, Chelsea loves any with animals. She was allowed to watch the first half hour of Stuart Little last night.
IK - love Cats n Dogs!! Very funny movie, seem it many times. Lucky you got some wood, looks like you will need heaps today. I can't even see you today, it is so misty outside and bloody freezing. Good day to be studying, esp if beside the open fire!
Julie - sounds like you had a great day and nothing wrong with a good sugar hit now and then! I can imagine planning a party for triplets would take quite a bit of work. Hope they started on your block too.
Bron - what a beautiful boy you have. Was very sad seeing him with all those tubes (and you too!), but he looks so healthy now. It must have been a very traumatic time for you and your family. Love the way you have displayed the photos in the card format, do you do that yourself? Looks great.
Made Marleys birthday present last night (well part of it). I decided to make something special for her, rather than just buy. I did 3 canvases, one with spots, one with stripes and one with squares in pale pink and green. They turned out great, I am so happy with them. DH is going to hang them for me later once Marley wakes up. I will try to get my camera to work and put them on my photobucket site. Will have to make her cake tomorrow too, but I am little nervous how it will taste. It uses Nuttlex butter, which smells awful! Will have to wait and see. Went out for b'fast with some GF's today to Warrandyte and it was freezing. Got there at 9am but my poor friend who's b'day it was was feeling a bit sick. We had b'fast (mine was yum!) and about 30 mins later, she had to leave the cafe and go outside to throw up! Poor thing, she felt dreadful. The funny thing was she had a voucher to buy one breakfast, get one free. She got hers for free!!!! We left the cafe and she felt better on the way home but kept apologising. We have decided to go again on another weekend. Have been cleaning up the kids rooms and doing a general tidy up. Time to keep moving!!! Hope everyone is having a great day. :)

Hi Girls, Happy birthday kisses to our latest birthday bubs.
One more assignment and I can kick back for a few weeks, Yipppeeee. How are you going with it all IK??
I can't wait to have a little break I feel as though I have done nothing but read and type for the past 6 months. My brain hurts and needs a rest. My kids are screaming to have their mummy back. I haven't planned anything for Nathans Birthday as yet and I think we might actually do it next week when I get this nasty huge yuck maths research assignment done. He won't care and I'd rather do it properly for him then slap stick. I really just need to get uni out of the way.
I see we have a few new people joining us, hi girls and welcome to Junies 2006. :confetti:
Bronwyn, Hi, if ou look at the top right corner of each post it has our join date and our location straight under it, you can add your location to yours by visiting your user profile up the top of the page in the index. I'm on the Gold Coast, Pretty close to Amanda and we've had a meet up still like to meet up with Neeny, another Junie. We should do it again soon Amanda.
to everyone else talk soon
Ta Dee
-
Hey Bronwyn - Don't suppose you have recently changed your password for your photobucket - i know Mel's been able to go in and look but i couldn't get in - i copied and pasted both username and password so shouldn't have spelt them wrong? Hope i haven't done it too much and locked you out now
Julie x

Oooh, look at me! I passed 1500 posts!!
Better get back to it - Osci asleep and I'm looking up natural ant repellants...I'm so SICK of these little black buggers, I want them GONE!!!
-
We got our computer back on Friday arvo, they couldn't save our pics, so I lost Cody's first birthday all because the camera's stupid f**king memory card only works sometimes and I couldn't get it to work so I've lost all of them except the one of the cake on my photobucket. Wyatt and Cody had a vomiting bug bad on Friday and Cody still hasn't kept any solids down, he's keeping breast milk down, I'm just a bit worried about the solids. He's also still sooky and just wants me, which is good and bad, makes it hard to do things like go to the loo.
Julie and Bron can you send me your email addresses if you like so that I can add you to our Junie list.
Dee it would be good to do a catch up again.
Hi everyone else.
Yay for passing 1500 posts IK.
hugs xoxo

Well, I'm here!
Pat has been really sooky over the past couple of days and I have lurked but as I go to post he has started throwing himself backward in a tantrum so the computer goes off!
Not sure if I told you ladies but we have finally got a house! 4BR and its only 500m from town,500m from my mums and 200m from the school! We now live in Rutherglen so if anyone is near the area feel free to drop in.
We moved in a couple of weeks ago but haven't really have had time to let you all know!
Mum and Dad are heading up to Queensland in 2 weeks so its very busy here trying to get things together for them and as School Hols are coming up, mum won't be around to look after the kids like she usually does! I'm in the midst of organizing school hol activities and heading up to the snow seems really popular!
Still b/f Pat but have decided to try and wean him now as he is only using me as a dummy....any ideas?
better go and put Bella to bed as the others went to bed half an hour ago!
Hello to all the newbies we have, quick intro!
Name is Jess and I'm a seasoned mum of 6! Jack is 11,Kate is 8, Tim is 6, Elizabeth is 4, Isabella is 2 and baby Patrick is 1. Patrick was due in June but as with a couple of other junies(Racs,Nic and Misskel) decided to come early at 35+5 weeks! He is a little devil, who has decided that walking is far too hard and crawling is a lot of fun!
Bye for now
Love to all the junie babies who are or have experienced their very important first birthdays!
-
Fantastic Jess!!! How long has this house been coming to you guys? Only since we started together here as Preggy buddies! And so awesome that you are so close to your mum, even if she'll be gone over the school holidays. I also admire your preparation (although it would be fraught with danger if you didn't prepare) for the holidays - it seems like such a long way off with Oscar, but I guess the time will come when I will have to organise activities for him when he's not at school...maybe ship him off to my parents in the country (I'm sure he'd hate the sea air...not!). By mentioning that in your post, you have flagged a mental note to myself for a few years ahead...!
Really, I am stoked that you have a house for you and the kids - I hope one day they realise what a great mummy you've been to them, but I'm sure they will - you're raising them so well (and I don't just mean in the 'considering you have 6, have had trouble with rental accomodation, the dropkick partners you've had etc', I mean, you are raising them well by any standard and I am always touched by how you speak of them and how driven you are for them. Geez, that sounds really soppy, but with all the stuff I'm reading for my course, and all the non-parenting that is going on out there in the world, great parenting seems to stick out like a sore thumb, doesn't it? And I'm a bit sentimental, anyway ;)
Amanda - how thoroughly annoying about your computer! For what it's worth, you may not have the photos, but there's a lot to be said for etching those kinds of memories into your brain, into the photo album of your heart. Some of my favourite moments can't be found on my computer or in a negative :)
Sorry, that's all that stuck out for me just now, and now that Oscar is asleep I have to get back to study (and eating some sago pudding)...
Have a great week all - 3 birthdays next week!
-
appologies i couldnt get on here yesterday was out all day. we went and looked at a house yesterday (cannot get serious about it though until our house sells) then dropped into SIL breifly to see bub again then had to follow DH to his work so he could drop his car off and then take him to the airport. He flew to LA yesterday, spends 4 days there and then 4 days in Miami for a work confrence. His sister works for Qantas 9although on maternity leave) and got him upgraded to business class so he was pretty happy bout that! anyway getting Nixon in and out of the car in pouring rain, howling wind was a lovely task!
Then went to my sisters for a bit, left Nix there and his uncle (my BIL) minded him and his 2 girls while i went and did a tupperware party!
by the time we got home it was 7.30pm and straight to bed for Nix.
Pretty certain Nixon haS "hand and foot in mouth" atm.
i had my suspicion it was that but rang nurses on call tonight and he has most of the symptoms
fever
pink spots over hands/ feet/ genitals/ legs but not on torso
some spots are more like blisters but not pusey
slight cough
turned off his food somewhat
he does not yet have any ulcers in his mouth but may still get them.
apparently its contagious and we think my 2 neices also have it (the elder one may have had it first and gave it to Nixon and Alyssa) they are contagious for 3-6days and not much u can give them other then panadol for the temp and bonjela for a sore mouth.
He seems pretty well in himself though most of the time. and once they get it they cannot get it again. Apparently 95% of us have had it at one time during out lives, we may have had it so midley and not even known it. I think the name of it sounds a lot worse then what it actually is.
Today i left the house just after lunch and been at my parents all arvo, staying the night, will go back to MIL tomorrow arvo and prob stay at mums again tues night as she minds Nix wed's. Figure the more i can get out of the house the better.
OK dog situation: that is a good idea IK about videoing but i dont know how i'd approach it as MIL would always be right there, cause her dogs are wherever she is so to get footage of Nixon with the dogs she will be 2 feet away.
Thismorning she gives both dogs a dog treat INFRONT OF NIXON to eat on the lounge room floow on the mat. Ofcourse Nixon wants it and i was in the other room i hear her saying "no thats the puppys biscuts" in a very blazae manner. So i went and got him and removed him from the situation.
Your right Ik i am a dog lover so its not like a have a vendetter (sp) out against these dogs but common..... if everyone else i have spokend to thinks its an issue whats wrong with her?
Jess- so happy for you guys getting a house! LOL at your seasonal mum comment. Anyway it must feel great being in a house again after so long in the van and at your aunties.
ETA: Bronwyn i just added everyones State to the list for you, hope i got them right!

Happy First Birthday Ruby!

OMG OMG OMG OMG....I am stressing big time, I hate Maths, I've been sitting here on and off since 6am except to pile all of the kids in the car drive the girls to school 860m away, won't let them walk anymore due to escalating thuggery in the area and I'm scared for the girls after we witnessed a young boy (14ish??) get jumped by these two low lifes who stopped and jumped out of the car, we saw it as we came over the ill, they saw us laughed at the scared boy and drove of, we asked him if he was okay, did he know them did he want a lift home, He said yes, no and no to my questions. Unbelievable they didn't even know the kid, mob of &^^$&(*&%. So we decided right then and there that the girls would no longer walk to and from school, that was until I had my Nephew babysit for me while I did my last couple of days of prac and had to be gone by 7.15am so against my better judgement I let them walk with their friends. Only to have the girls bullied by a group of school children their own age (throwing rocks, racial slurs, swearing) whom got into big trouble at school as I had the girls tell on them. It is ridiculus that my children can't walk 860m to school without being assualted. So well I'm way off the track for this conversation .....anyway I get home then I have to change a very pooey bum, He has grown out of his cloth nappies I need to make more but WHEN??? anyway never again will I buy cheap Coles nappies they are disgusting and they fill quickly and stink, I changed him at 3.00am when he woke screaming at me and then I woke him to drive the girls to school quick, when I changed him he has the reddest area I have ever seen and the nappy was oozing, disgusting (I gave him a bath and the poor bubba just screamed at first, I'm such a bad mother at the moment, my poor baby, but never again I will use more petrol to go to ALDI and buy their cheap nappies cause I've never had a problem with them. I used sudacrem on the area so hopefully it will clear up soon. No he's happily playing on the floor next to me taking my office apart, lol. He's occupied, the girls are in watching playschool, they are occupied, now I sit here starring at the screen ...blank, I have nothing, I just don't know what to write....Where to start. I have no excuse for not doing it but I just feel that I can't do it, so I ditched it to see what's happening in BellyBelly world.
Happy Birthday Junie babes.
Thanks for listening to my ramble. I'm just soooo stressed, 8 and a half weeks till DH is home, Who was I kidding I can't do this on my own......... I just want to hide under my doona and cry at the moment. It's stupid it's one more assignment and my semester is done and I will have a few weeks to devote wholely to my children and the house and well I might even wax my eyebrows, dye my hair and shave my legs.....oh the luxery of time...okay I feel a little better, going to make a cappacchino (sp?) and get back to it.
bye for now
Dee
-
Heaven - the only thing getting me through my own stress right now (granted, it's not as stressful as your situation), is placing myself in the moments after my exam, and with my assignments, I placed myself in the hours and day after I had submitted. Have you tried applying for an extension? Or even a special consideration? You'd definitely have grounds - you would probably have to see a uni counsellor to have them vouch for you on the form, but it's worth it if you realistically need extra time. I have definitely been thinking about you, knowing you've had your head down, bum up and up to armpits in kids
Better go, MIL is here to collect Oscar and I need to say bye to him before getting stuck into my impossible schedule to get reading done in time for exams...
ETA: I was just thinking, Heaven - for your essay, start writing out sentences for your introduction that tell YOU more than anyone else what the essay is about. What is the essay topic? What comes to mind first off? What angle will you use? When I get a blank (and it happens often!), I start of really, really simple. Short sentences about what I'm doing. Then my thoughts start to take off from there. Then you can get rid of your short sentences in an edit...or if they ar good, leave them in! The hardest part is actually starting - have you found that? It really is. Once I force myself to make even the lamest start on an intro, it gets the ball rolling for more intellectual nuggets that have been itching to get out. I hope this helps - I know exactly where you are in regards to that! How about, when you've got it done, you have a drink for me, and when I finish up on Friday, I'll have a drink for you? (But just one cos we're still BFing!
-
OK guys, here is some news that im sure you werent expecting to hear from me for a while........
i got a :bfp: this morning!!!
DH and i only decided a few weeks ago that we would start trying in the next couple of months!
Im so excited but scared at the same time, i keep thinking of what Lachlan was like and he STILL isnt sleeping through the night!!
Anyway, im 4 weeks today and ill be due on the 25th Feb.
Im going to go and catch up on some personals.
Oh, we had lachlans 1st birthday party on the weekend and it was a success, we ended up hiring the local community hall and having it there rather than home (the weather was horrible) It worked out well!
-
OMG congratulations Donna, wow, oooohh........ a honeymoon baby.... lovely
Yahooooo :confetti:
IK thank you sooooo much for your words of widom and strength. I have done considerable work today and am happy with the direction of my assignment. It is a research Project, I decided to look at how children begin to make connections with partitioning and fair share using virtual manipulatives. My actual subject is - The effect of virtual manipulatives for teaching pre preparatory children about fair share as a basis for fraction knowledge. (big words which just mean using the computer to learn maths) I really like my title, it sounds good, I just have to back it up with a great report. I have collated my results and have written my findings but I have to tie it in with recent research and theoretical practice. I have to Friday to finish and I am on target, I'll be fine I just had a moment of weakness this morning but I'm fine now, lol, opps better go get the girls. BBL
-
Congratulations Dee!!!! *Hugs* So happy for you! How exciting! How many Junies are expecting another bub now? Nic? You're the stats queen! Is Dee about the 5th?
(trying desperately to get ready to go down to the village... sooo cold outside.... but I've been indoors for 3 days in a row,,, gotta get out... at least to buy some more dishwashing powder!)
-
Dee - OMG CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! How exciting. I'm so very happy for you and DH. Sounds like Lachlan had a lovely birthday party.
Nickel - Happy birthday to Ruby for the 16th! I must have missed that one on the list!
Jess - great news on the house, you must have so much more room now. I'm sure the kids love it too. Good luck with school holiday planning. I might be asking you for advice next year when Chelsea starts school.
Amanda - how awful about losing the photos! But IK is right, nothing can take away whats in your head and heart. Did anyone else take any that you can have? I always get my SIL to take extra photos as she has a better camera than me! Hope Cody and Wyatt are doing better.
7th - that poor little boy! Some kids can be such ar$eholes! I hope your girls learn to turn the other cheek and ignore the rude comments. Sounds like you are making good progress on your work. You are doing a great job, and look for the big bright light at the end of the tunnel, not long to go!
IK - sounds like you are in full on study mode! It must be a huge relief to have MIL take Oscar and get some proper study done. Not long for you either.
Bath - we have had a mostly sunny day here today, not the horrible 11 they forecast (thank god!). Still very crisp outside though, hope you manage to venture out.
Had a GF over for lunch today with her DS so Chelsea was very happy. She bought Marley a gorgeous set of baby maracas and a miniature tamborine from Gippettos (I thought of you straight away IK!) in the Dandenongs. They are so divine and Marley loves them, she is banging them with the hugest smile on her face!!! Kids got to play outside for a while as the sun was shining. They did some gardening, shovelling dirt from one side of the garden to the other.
My GF has a dilema that I thought you guys could help with. She is currently pregnant with #2, due start of August. Her DS is called Oskar and her and her DH like the name Felix for this bub (it is a boy), but she is worried about the whole "Odd Couple" comparisons, Felix and Oscar. For me, when she asked me if I liked Felix (which I do love), the first thing I though of was the Odd Couple TV show. She laughed as thats what she thought too. What do you all think?
-
Mel - how funny!! I LOVE the name Felix, but thought later that having the two names in one family could be a bit kitsch...but later thought, what the hell? People can say what they want! The two are lovely names (just realised how biased that sounds!), and Felix was on my boys name list :) I'd say to go for it, and then it would rule it out as a possibility for me and make my choice easier!
Heaven - I HATE those moments of crisis! Glad it wasn't as bad as you thought this morning...deep breaths! The absolute worst that can happen is that we have to repeat a unit...but our families will still be there and our kids will love us regardless! The topic sounds really interesting for a research topic.
Bath - a good natural alternative to dishwashin powder (and a hell of a lot cheaper) is bicarb in the dispenser and two (no more than two will do it) drops of eucalyptus oil. Also, for a rinse aid, vinegar is said to work wonders :)
Now, last but not least...
Congratulations Donna!!!! That's great news! I had a Booby Club friend over just before (to drop in a card and pressie for Oscar) and she says that the first is supposed to be the handful, the second calmer, the third calmer still, then you start all over again with the fourth! So, fingers crossed, this one will be a sleeper!! You still love them though, regardless of what they sleep like...next thing you know they are off to high school!
Better go again...
-
WHOO HOO Congratulations Donna! yep honeymoon bub how cool
i dont actually know the odd couple show Mel so it would have never have occured to me and i heard two kids called Oskar and Felix!

Dee that is wonderful news!!! and congrats on the house Jess
Nickers try SM33 for Nix's ulcers - much better than bonjella - poor lamb!!
-
You girls make me cold... Mel was 11C your top for today. A cold chill just crept down my back, Brrrrrrr I love Queensland in the winter, lol. I love that I am sitting here with my windows open in shorts and a shirt and only now I'm thinking it's a bit chilly, lol.
IK lol my third is my worst (if I can scale my children) she is high maintenance, moody, loud, demanding, and absolutely adorable. I truely feel sorry for the poor fella who ends up with her, lol. God love her. She drives me crazy. Her birth was my best, virtually pain free bar 1/2 an hour. I wish I had all of them like that.
Nicker, hope Nix is better real soon, poor baby.
Okay I better go do dinner and bath my babes, I feel a late night coming on.
See you later
Ta Dee
-
Ahh, cold is good! Today I bought a nice purple top to go with my fabulous purple cardigan for Oscar's birthday party on Sunday - I wouldn't be able to wear fabulous knits in warmer weather! I LOVE to rug up! I've just topped up my woodheater and the dogs are curled up in the loungeroom, and I have a lovely veggie and bacon soup on the simmer (splashed with red wine) and I intend to wrap my hands around a hot mug shortly, before the boy gets home. But for now, back to neuroscience...at least this book is far easier to read. The author has described the function of part of the hypothalamus and says that med students use the Four F's to remember it - Fight, Flight, Fright and Sex...now that's got my attention!!
-
My third, fourth and final OMG of the day, My body is sooo deadly!!!! TMI to follow.... My "girlie visitors" arrived tonight for the first time since having Nathan. I can't believe it, It's really not much and I had no idea I was getting them but still. Iam still breast feeding Nathan but it is down to twice a day in the past week or so, he likes his sippy cup. So I guess it was bound to happen sometime soon but not a year to the day, lol.
Nathan has been playing the squat and stand game over the last month and has been walking around furniture but tonight he took his first two steps and then squatted down and he had the funniest look on his face.
This really is a cornerstone in our lives, I have birthed my last baby and I'm okay with that. He's becoming such a little boy now. It all happened so quickly.....
-
IK - funny how you like the same names! I had Felix on my list of boys names too, its such a cute name. Soup sounds delicious, what a day for it. Enjoy neuroscience!
Nic - poor Nixon! Hope his mouth clears up soon, I bet he is loving the jelly! You must be too young to remember The Odd Couple, I feel so old LOL!!!!
7th - it was bloody freezing today and tonight it feels like I live at the snow!!! I hate the cold, give me your qld weather anyday! How freaky getting AF back at this time. It has all happened too quickly, our little babies are growing up.
I must admit, I have been reminising (sp?) tonight. DH and I have been talking about what we were doing this time last year. Well about this time, I was getting ready to head off to bed after only having 2 contractions in 5 hours! We had just finished watching The Society Murders, about the wealthy Melb couple that was murdered by their son. Thought it might be false alarm but got MIL to pick up Chelsea just in case. How wrong I was!!!! I hope I don't wake up at the time she was born, far too early (3.35am!). I found a better recipe for chocolate egg-free cupcakes. I have made them and they are delicious, you wouldn't even know there is no egg in them. Will decorate them tomorrow. Can't believe my little Miss Marley will be 1 tomorrow!

Heaven - get back to your essay! I've just noticed your ticker changed, tsk, tsk!
Mel - I am really getting through this book by Bear et all very quickly purely because of the writing style! Soup was a winner - I am so getting good at this!
Well, the three of us have a big day of reminiscing tomorrow! Except Dee and I will be pretending it sort of isn't happening so that we can make it through the week and still call ourselves students...
My cutie pie must have had a huge day of gardening at his grandma's today, cos he is still in bed after going down at about 7 (couple of wakes, but being a human pacifier has its advantages).
Back to the books...

Mel – Can’t wait to see the pressy you made Marley – it sounds lovely – such a nice idea – wish I’d get inspired to do something like that! How did the Nuttlex butter go?
IK – A friend of mine recommended talc for getting rid of ants, I haven’t tried ti though so not sure if it works. I use cornstarch on Will and oscar so not sure if that does the same iro getting rid of ants.
Amanda – Sorry you lost Cody’s birthday pic’s, that’s pretty sad but like the girls said I guess the ones in your mind are indelible. I sent you an email – hope you received it.
Jess – Yay on getting the house.
Nic – Nixon sounds like he has a nasty dose of H,F and M disease. Will and Oscar had it around 6 months ago but not that bad at all – just some blisters on their fingers and toes and where their nappies touched their legs but fortunately nothing in their mouths. Hope it goes for him soon, I think it only lasted a couple of days with my boys.
Heaven – ‘hug’s luv, you sound so stressed. I hope things calm down for you soon (and before DH gets back – 8 ½ weeks Is such a long time – I’m grumpy im home alone 4 days this week and 5 days next!). Hope you manage to finish your assignment soon. Yay for Nathan taking his first steps.
Donna – CONGRATULATIONS! That’s such great news.
Mel – That’s so funny about your friend and her boy Oscar – Will was going to be either Felix or Isaac then i chickened out on the way to the hospital and changed it to William. I’ve never heard of the odd couple show so it’s doesn’t mean anything to me. I say go for it to your friend – Oscar and Felix are a great name combination.
Now I don’t know if this is how it works but it’s 10.25 here so that makes it 12.25 on the east coast and so the 19th so hopefully my post will show that date at the top so I can be first to say
:confetti:Happy Birthday Oscar:confetti: Happy Birthday Nathan :confetti:Happy Birthday Marley:confetti:
Hope you all enjoy your special days and that mum (and dads enjoys thinking about this time last year)
James flew to brissy this morning so I’m home alone til late Thursday night, then he’s off again late Sunday night till the Friday so I’m getting back into doing everything again. We took him to the airport this morning (big mistake as I always blub which is so stupid – he usually goes away at least twice a month for the last 4 or 5 years so you’d think id would be used to it by now) then went to a friends place for the kids to play. Got back and the kidlets crashed then as soon as they woke up they were fed and we had to go shopping – so WHY was the house like an utter bombsite – 10 times worse than normal – it was 8.30pm before I’d finished tidying tonight – grrrrr. Had a good day though so can’t complain. My friend got a mobile hairdresser over so we could have a haircut as it’s so difficult for us to get to a salon (she is the friend with triplets so even harder for her). I was very happy with my do – first in around 8 or 9 months but had no one to show it off too except fellow supermarket shoppers and no one seemed impressed!
Nighty night everyone

A Big Happy Birthday to Oscar and Marley and of course to my little man Nathan.
I hope you all have a wonderful day. I can't believe how fast this year has gone.:clap: :confetti:
Lol IK....Busted, hehehe, didn't see this til this morning, I'm getting back at it right now.....I promise, I can't wait for this weekend, our brains can rest, Ik your book sounds interesting, love the 4 F's, lol.
Julie...Thanks and lol, you could have had the checkout chicks make an announcement, "Welcome to shopping at .... Ladies and Gentleman today we have a very special person in the store, could you all please praise her do in aisle 3, and thank you for shopping at..., lol. That would have been great, one of my friend's is a hairdesser, that saves me alot of money and time cause I'd just go to her place for a cuppa ans a cut, but she moved to Rocky and I moved here, she said to drop in for a cuppa and a cut on theway through, she's a champion, she also has 5 babies 4 living one sleeping. My neice has been doing a nail techician course and needs to practice so on the weekend my SIL an CIL and their friend and I all got our nails done for free , I got gel overlays, no tips as I have a nice mother of five length nails, she did a great job, we were all happy with the results
Mel, Marley is the oldest of our three then, I think Nathan is the youngest, lol. Those cup cakes sound yummy.
The girls were so excited about Nathan's birthday so I went and I bought a little wiggles cake and some junky food so this afternoon the kids and I are having a little party for Nathan. I usually make the first birthday cake but I've been a tad busy and distracted this year. He won't care, I've sung happy birthday to him a couple of times this morning, he is a big boy now, sniff sniff.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY OSCAR, MARLEY AND NATHAN.
BBL.
hugs xoxo

I'll join in the happy birthdays to Oscar, Marley and Nathan - what a special little trio!!
We hit a milestone last night - Flynn slept RIGHT THROUGH!! We put him to bed at 8.30pm, he woke screaming at 11.30 so I put a night light on for him, and he SLEPT TILL 7AM!! I have been suspecting for a while he is "waking in fright" in the middle of the night in his pitch dark room, but it wasn't till I realised he seemed really "scared" that it twigged. Funny - I suppose he is now actually old enough to imagine "fear" rather than just discomfort or hunger or whatever.
And 7th and IK - get back to work :)
-
Happy Birthday Oscar, Marley & Nathan!!!!
And Yay Flynnie for sleeping through! Must have been the night for it... Niall slept from 9 - 5am then 5am - 8am!
I'll be back later... haven't been up long... all bedragled... had a chuckle at your checkout scenario Dee and your typo Julie (4 or 5 years) LOL I know it must seem that long... BBL :)

Happy Birthday Nathan, Marley and Oscar!!! Oscar will properly be one year old at about 4.50pm. He is already dressed in the cute outfit my mum got for him to wear today and he woke up gurgling with cheeriness. He, too, went down at about 7, woke at about 10.30 with a start but went back down again till about 8am. It really has been the night for it!
Ok, gotta fly - have brekky, take Oscar to Gepetto's before MIL comes for him...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL!!!
Happy Birthday to Oscar and Nathan!
Thanks for all the lovely birthday wishes, I can't believe Marley is the oldest of the 3! Had her health centre app today and she is still my little baby!!! She is only 8.3kg, 73cms long. Health nurse said that babies with allergies tend to be smaller and her height is fine, just her weight is in the 10th percentile. She said to follow up with paed at my next app in July, but she wasn't concerned. She suggested to increase her carbs and some more red meat. She had a terrible fever last night (39) but was much better this morning, still has a bit of a cough. I have been singing Happy Birthday to her all day, she thinks its pretty funny! Her cupcakes turned out yum and she had some at lunchtime, she wasn't overly keen but enjoyed making a mess. We are having an intimate family party tonight, just DH, me and Chelsea!!!! We get to sing happy birthday properly and eat more cupcakes (better go ice them!)
Julie - hope the fellow shoppers enjoyed your new haircut!!! My camera is now working so I will take a photo of the canvases and put them on my site. It was heaps of fun to do. Hope the next few days go quickly for you and your DH will be home soon.
7th - hope the girls enjoy putting on a party for Nathan. I think its more fun for the siblings LOL!! Chelsea is dying to get home this afternoon for cake!!!
Rory - another mystery of parenthood solved LOL!!! Well done on Flynn sleeping through, looks like that light might be staying on.
IK - I'm sure Oscar will look cool in his new clothes! Going to Gepettos over the weekend, where exactly is it? Want to get the same maracas and tamborine that Marley got for a friends baby - they are so cute!
Bath - can't imagine you ever looking bedragled!
-
Broody?! *twitch* noooo *wistful sigh* ;)
Just checked out PowPow's site Nic... you're lookin' like Jennifer Anniston there chicky (in the family portrait holding Nixon). :)
LOL Mel: Ah don't you worry... i do "bedragled" really reeeally well! ROFL can't wait to check out your canvasses!
