Bugger, Amanda!
We walked down to the park on the nearby corner and had a great time. Just Oscar and I. He did heaps of climbing, I stuck him on my back and we did the flying fox (my pecs are gonna hurt tomorrow!), then I let him climb up by himself, make his way through the tunnel, decide to go up the stairs instead of choosing the lower, shorter slide, then called out 'safe safe' (swimming technique that works everywhere else for getting him to go down feet first off anything) and he slid down the big, twisty slide on his belly. He did that twice and was so chuffed! Pity it was just me, I couldn't take photos - when he's climbing I have to be there as his spotter! It did the trick, though, got back, he whinged, I stuck a booby in his mouth and now he's asleep.
Got dishes to do now and a study to tidy up, a TV to move into Oscar's room (it just doesn't get watched enough to deserve to be in the loungeroom! A friend yesterday asked if we even had a TV (she had been at my place the day before for the whole arvo) and was impressed that it wasn't a focal point of our house. Unintended, but now it's gonna be even further away. I tend to subscribe to Bath's thoughts on screens from TV and computer and that it has a negative effect on brainwaves.
That said, I'm going to get away from this screen and get some dishes done and lunch eaten!

Julie: Made the alterations as requested to avatar :) have sent it off to AstroLady so she can upload... hopefully very soon!
Amanda: Yay! (Avatar) Boo! (car)
-
Your so clever Bath, are you making Ik's one too?
-
Can't wait - thanks so much Bath. Amanda's is great too (sorry to here about your car Amanda, what a pita).
IK - like the 'safe, safe' idea - that sounds good - might have to try that with Will. That hasn't been mentioned in our swimming lessons. Can't say i watch much tv now since i discovered BB!!!! (apart from Sunday night - gotta have my trashy girly night with ugly betty and Grey's).
Boys are being pleasant today - went to the library for story time and they were both well behaved and Oscar really enjoyed the singing and craft bit. Will finally started clapping on Saturday and now he gives himself a round of applause for anything and everything - so funny!

Rory - sorry babe, I must have missed the part about DH passing his first tests for MFB. Well done to him. He'll shoe in the others.
Amanda - avatar looks awesome! Bath, brilliant job. Love the lovehearts behind you, they look so cute. Bugger about car not working, hope it gets fixed soon.
Dee - I managed to get it right! No offence taken and I will make sure I use Dee from now on. How has your day turned out after a sleep deprived night?
IK - you did well getting out of the house today, looks so blowy and cold outside!
I tend to subscribe to Bath's thoughts on screens from TV and computer and that it has a negative effect on brainwaves - I must be so totally braindead by now with all the TV is watch LOL!!!!
Julie - love the clapping! Marley is right into it and claps at anyone and anything. People say hello to her and she starts clapping!!! They look so cute doing it. You won't be able to stop Will doing it now. Can't wait to see your av.
Well a quick post while I am at work, I feel so naughty doing it LOL!!! Another good day, got lots of cleaning done today. My replacement has been finalising some work and I am happy to let her finish up stuff, then hand over to me. I have decided to clean up everything and anything I can find so when I do take over, I have a lovely clean start. Only took me 35 mins to get to work this morning so I was very pleased, hope its a nice quick one home too. Must go, nearly time to go home!!!
-
Ah, Mel - your brain seems fine to me! I subscribe to it because I have seen the difference it has made to the vibe here since we just dropped off programs, bit by bit till nothing was watched at all. For us, it works really well and it wasn't even a conscious decision, and that's why we don't miss it. When we spend too much time in front of the computer I notice the difference, though - it seems to suck our life force!
-
Dee- oh u missed a cracker of a game last night! was the best of the series and not just cause NSW won! well partly cause they won but it was just a great game.
Toy sale- i got it good this yr, my sister and her gf went to kmart at midnight last night, i had circled what i wanted and just said whatever u get u get, she end up getting all but one of the things i circled and put it all on layby. She didnt get home till 4am thismorning...... i had no intentions of going so was pretty lucky she went and got all the stuff for me!
amanda- love your avater looks awesome! hope your car is fixed soon too
-
Can't talk long, my computer's hard drive has gone bang so can only talk very quickly.
Pat now weighs 9.240kg.
-
Hiya Jess :)
Have been busy working on another avatar...
Leaving for Castlemaine tomorrow morning for the weekend. See y'all Monday :)
-
Have a great weekend away Bath
Hi Jess - hope your computers fixed soon
Nic - yay on getting all the toys you wanted in the sales.

Have a lovely time up there, Bath! I still have never been - one of these days I'll get us up there for a couple of nights. A break will do you good! No computers, no avatars, your eyes will thank you...
Jess - I wish Oscar weighed more like Pat!
Mel - How is it that on the day there's a major accident on the freeway, you get a dream run, and on a normal weekday morning, it takes you forever? Murphy's Law, I suppose! It wasn't that blowy when I went out - it was cold, but I had on a new op-shop jumper and a neckwarmer (actually I wore it as a headscarf!), so I was ok. The little valley we are in is also a bit more protected, unless it's a northerly...they come straight down off the mountain at Ferny Creek!
Julie - Oscar just started clapping recently, too - I thought he'd never do it. Library time thing is good, though I've only been to two (just keep forgetting), and Oscar doesn't sit still. Can't wait to see your avatar!
Speaking of which, sorry I didn't answer your question, Dee - when you posted about me getting an av, I was still trying to sort out the 'glitch' and didn't want to post back saying "it's a mistake, I haven't got Platinum yet and won't be getting an av". So, yes, I'm getting an av. And it's a surprise :P
SAHM question - forget now who asked this. I'm at home, not working, studying from home, too. I'm due to go back to my casual job at the end of the month and have forgotten to send my resignation letter this week! It's not worth going back on many levels, mostly to do with the changed and battered morale there since new owners took over last year. It's a shame, they used to be such a good employer, was a joy to work for them in the past.
I'm getting together with my guitarist friend next week, for the first time in ages. Who knows, maybe I make a buck from doing that again later this year. I know my voice is rocking out, but only Oscar and the neighbours get to hear it! I think it's all this baby talk, it's got some brand new registers, and strengthened others that used to be weak! Sounds like I'm full of myself, but I took to the singing a bit later in life and spent a lot of the time before that thinking "I know I can sing, but I musn't be very good", just out of habit of playing myself down. I also got sick of saying "yeah, but I'm not that great' when people found out I sang...it's a downer for everyone around the conversation to hear that, so now I just say "Yeah, I'm all right!". Someone's gotta be positive!
OK, take two of going to bed...

Woo Hoo!! New username!
I have had a bittersweet day with my sister and my mum...too long to go into, suffice to say that had they taken my recommendation to take the train and tram into Brunswick St we would have avoided a parking ticket (ouch!) and my unsettled niece who had to wait till we were off the freeway to settle. Especially after my exhortations to use public transport, the fine will not be paid by myself. But the two princesses had to be driven in. Don't worry about carbon emissions, as long as the two of them didnt have to share space with commuters, all is well. Vent over.
Oscar was really good and even had a sleep. He's getting better and isn't as snotty anymore.
Mel - how does it feel to be at the end of your first week back at work?
Amanda - is your car fixed?
Dee - how are the kids going on their holidays? Climbing walls yet?
Emishka - sorry, I meant to say hi when you dropped in last time!
Nic - how's the rental search going? I know it's a lot of moving, and one of those moves to save peace of mind could be a real saver for your wellbeing!
Heading down to the Peninsula tomorrow for an overnight at a friend's, very much looking forward to catching up with her. She's an ace cook, too, and they are into wines, so I think we'll be looked after ;)
Terrible news from today's foray into Brunswick St...I lost one of my Lancome Juicy Tubes down the toilet! I was devastated, I take them everywhere with me and each one is like a little child to me...ok, so that's taking it a bit further, but I could have cried as it was my favourite one. The only consolation is that I was having to squeeze it a bit extra to get gloss out of it, so it was near the end of its dutiful service to me. My sister thinks it's funny. How cruel!
Better go think about what to eat for dinner...
ETA: the new username came about from a conversation I had with someone whose opinion I value highly, when talking about my heritage and wanting to incorporate my 'Mayanness' (Maya from Honduras in Central America) into my life, at least for Oscar's benefit. She liked the sound of it and a new username was born. So, it was accidental, but there it is!
-
Mayaness - feels weird using this name, but I'm sure it wont take long to get used to, its lovely by the way! Fantastic news about the singing and I bet you do have a great voice. I can imagine you belting out some tunes at Rubys! I can understand why you were so upset about your juicy tube! They are so good and expensive, but the consolation is that it was nearly empty, imagine if it was a newy! No good about the parking ticket. I must admit, I very rarely use the train (as you can remember me freaking out when you weren't on the train one day LOL!!!) and much prefer to drive everywhere. I know its not good for the environment - naughty me! First week back went really well. I can't believe the run I had on Thursday as DH told me about the accident but I didn't notice it. I go down Blackburn Rd and go over the freeway, maybe the accident happened just after I went throught that way. Hope I get a good run like that every week (not likely!). Next week I have to take both kids and drop off at 2 locations so that will be a good test at how organised I am. Have a wonderful time down the peninsula - good food, good company and yes, good wine!
Nic - I circled stuff in the catalogue too! But haven't gone in yet, most of the stuff I want is prob gone. Each year I tend to alternate b/w Target and Kmart. I'm going to check out the Target catalogue online, hopefully they have some good stuff too. Your sister did a damn good job getting most of your stuff and lasting till 4am!
Very quiet day today. Woke up with a really sore back, must have slept really bad as I felt like I didn't have a good sleep and then felt lousy all day. Must be the weather too! Needless to say I didn't get much done. DH took Chelsea to the shops to pick up some stuff so Marley and I hung out together and had lots of fun. Think I might soak in a nice hot bath tonight to see if that does the trick.
I hope you all have a good weekend! :)
-
I guess you could just shorten it to Maya and it would serve the same purpose!
Have a soak for me, please! I'm getting my aromatherapy bath salts soon, along with some new oils, so I'll concoct a nice blend to soak in according to my moods, one of these nights. Can't wait to get my aromatherapy book, too, which has recipes for blends that serve different purposes...my aim is to engineer the moods around here by surreptitiously spraying blends made specifically for DP and Oscar. An anti-grumpy one for DP and a sleepy-head one for Oscar! hee hee, using my powers for evil, instead of good!
Toys - gonna do my Christmas toy shopping in October at the local markets! I'm so over commercial shopping, it's not funny. Once that resignation letter is posted, I'll have even less reason to go to shopping centres! (my bad, I still haven't posted it, so I may have to fill in some 'unavailability' forms to cover the time I don't want to be there but was due back for...IYKWIM).
Driving - Some trips are just too easy to take by public transport and this was one of them. It was a bugger to find parking, cost then to pay for it, then to go back to make our ticket current again, then to get a fine because my mum didn't tell us what time the new ticket expired at (she'd gone back to the car to top it up) and we didn't get back to the car in time, then to get stuck in peak hour traffic after getting my niece booby fed to settle her for the car trip...and then...to lose my Juicy Tube!!!! It wasn't worth it! I also dropped of the piece for the printer I sold and the guy's practice was just near the Eye and Ear hospital...so it was even less of a side trip than I thought it would be (and I said to them that dropping it off and getting the rest of my money would take no time and would be too easy...I was right). I left the message with his receptionist that this sort of 'goodwill' couldn't be expected from other eBayers and that even though it wasn't too out of the way for me, it wasn't the eBay way. She understood. It's all good.
I bought Oscar a cute pair of Kathmandu mittens, though - he'll be so toasty!
Better go, my sister is here for the evening, just arrived...
-
HI girls, just popping through as we have only just gotten back on the internet tonight! The move went well, but we are still surrounded by sea of boxes.
I am a bit run down after all the hecticness of the past few weeks! But on school holidays now which is wonderful- 2 whole weeks of rest. My GP has said that if I want to start maternity leave early she will write me a letter saying it is under medical advice so I can start @ 30 weeks (which will actually be 28 weeks) because I will finish up at the end of next term.
Julie- It was great to meet you last week, you were right it was quite a bit of madness but fun all the same. Your boys are absolutley adorable!
Anyway I better run I promise to come back and catch up properly over the next week!

Changes, changes everywhere but if you just sit and stare.........
Hi Girls.
Sorry, I haven't checked in today. What a day!! I met Amanda on the train platform, her train arrived a couple of minutes before mine, I also met her lovely friend Karen. The Baby Expo was excellent, got heaps of samples and goodies and I bought a trolley seat thingy. I don't know what happened to my old one, but it was pink and purple anyway. Lol. It was terrific to breifly meet Christy, Sheree, and Nixonsmumma, Lea. The kids had fun and it wasn't all about us ladies, the kids enjoyed the petting zoo, although Melissa was scarred of the baby lamby, crack me up, lol. They also sat down to draw any chance they got and the play area was a great recharge event. Although we really knew it was time to go at trantrum O Clock.
Nic... Lol about the footy.
Mel...I'm glad your first week back was a great one. It'll be nice come payday, lol.
Hi Ali glad the move went well, hope to see more of you once you settle in.
Amanda thanks for a wonderful day, can't believe we both forgot about camera's, lol
Bath Hope you're relaxing and not thinking about avatars and posting, lol.
Mayaness, Membership upgrade.... wow what a suprise for you, well you do deserve it, Have you deduced who the person is yet. Love the name change, suits you perfectly and when I read it It immediately reminded me ofyour heritage. So lovely and exotic. I've always had a thing for al things Mayan. Michael said he want to take me on a cruise next year, we may be doing a Carribean cruise and I'm so excited to go to a few Mayan ruins.
Hmmmm really late this boys gone back to sleep so I'm going to get some shut eye. And I've forgotten what elseI was going to post to who. Not much sleep lately, Really frizzling my brain.
Talk tomorrow sometime.
Bye
Dee

Bath thanks a million, my Av looks great. I hope you have a wonderfully relaxing time away this weekend.
Ali enjoy your hols and relax, just unpack slowly you and your bubba need you to be feeling better so take your time.
Mel did your lovely soak in the bath help your back any? I know some mornings when I wake up my back is sore and it does put a dampener on your day, hope it's better today.
Jess yay for broadband, boo for broken computer, hope it gets fixed soon.
Nic that's great that your sis got the stuff for you, I know we went yesterday and there was hardly anything left, but we made do with what was there and put it on layby, so we're set, lol.
Well as Dee said we went to the baby expo yesterday and it was great, I ended up only having Cody because DH had the day off to fix the car so I left the older boys at home with daddy and had a peaceful day as a mum of one. My friend Karen and I caught the train into the convention centre and just as we were about to get the lift downstairs Dee's train turn up. The food at the expo was really expensive, but over all was a great day.
Got home and the car was all fixed and DH got a taste of what it is like to be me for a day, he picked, me up from the train station and we went to the toy sale and then we went to a diner for dinner with friends and all the hot rod cars were there got home by 10pm and was knackered so went to bed.
Ok better go.
hugs xoxo
