Oh this boy is wearing me down today, he just won't settle and if he does sleep it is for 10 mins at a time! The good thing is tho for the past few nights we are getting around a 6 hour stint from approx 8pm to 2am - what a good boy!! I can hear him now thru the monitor, he has the hiccups - only a matter of time before he cries out for me.
Ceecee I bled for around 4 straight weeks and then the 5th week was just light spotting, it was the same first time around as well.
Jess hope things work out for you.
What did I say, there he goes crying again...
-
Jess - OMG, you have had an unfair time - poor Patrick - I bet he grows to be the strongest kid given his rough start. I'm so glad he is home - I was thinking of him all last night.
Was up all night with Baby girl, ahhh... so tired, she is now finally alseep so going to sleep myslef - luckily I'm still in my PJ.
thanks for answering my questions, much appreciated
hope all else is well...
luv
CC
PS Alexandra has her ultrasound on her kidney on the 28th of July... I really think it is going to be OK.. I really hope so
-
CeeCee- Patrick is 8 weeks old now and I stopped bleeding around week 6.
Well, I went out house hunting again today, yeah I know I'm supposed to be putting a flat up in my aunts backyard! Went to the main real estate in town and they have on the blackboard out the front 3 bedroom house for rent $145 per week! So, I go in and ask if there were any houses for rent and they said no!Apparently , that one went on Friday!!!!
Went to another real estate agent and they haven't had any for months!
On another note, took Pat to be weighed today( as per DHS's orders) and Pat is now up to 3.34kg, which is weird because he was only 3.1kg on Thursday and he has never put on that much weight!
Jack is supposed to be going on camp on Wednesday but last Saturday when he went to the Collingwood match with my aunt and his brother, he decided to wander off away from my aunt a couple of times and then started talking to strangers. I don't feel like sending him to camp just for them to say we are sorry but he wandered off. Now I know I sound neurotic but even if we ar ewalking into town he wanders off, something just has to catch his eye and he will go and check it out! Yeah, there will be teachers there but only two teachers for 20 students, Jack needs constant supervision! Now I'm rambling so I'll leave it here!
-
Ryan has a doctors appointment tonight at 6:50. His eye has gotten worse today and He's just not himself. Clingy and lethargic. He's only been awake for 20 minutes this morning while I showered and then only for his feeds going straight back to sleep after :(
-
Gabysmum- I hear ya on unsettled babies. Tori is having a similr sort of day, and was the same yesterday. Every time she falls alseep I put her down and as soon as she is in her bassinet her eyes open again- so frustrating.
I have ordered the book No Cry Sleep Solutions from the library, I will see if that has any tips in it, to try andget her to sleep longer during the day.
She maybe going through a growing spurt because she has been feeding more than usual the last couple of days, and I seem to be making more milk.....who knows. I have a MCHN appointment tomorrow, maybe she can shed a bit more light!
-
ali - everyone says that pinky mackays book is great. some of the tips are on the main page if you haven't found them already?
-
just added a couple of pics on the website if u wanna see.
ive got nixon in a yellow bonds jumpsuit today, he looks like a different baby! haven't put him in yellow b4!
let us know how you get on @ the docs Candy. i hope poor Ryan get get back to his bubbly self soon.
gabbysmum- sorry to hear Alex is so unsettled in the day, atleast your getting a good sleep @ night with him is one thing. have u tried putting him in diff places say on floor/rocker/pram or anything in the day? i find Nixon is most settled during the day when we r out, its at home when he seems to b more restless. im sure its the constant moving/motions in the pram/carrier/car.
Poor Wade.... hope his teeth can cut through soon so he can feel himself again
-
Happy Bday Tanya ! ! !
Im sure your doing a great job alone with Lucas :) .. no one could have prepared us for how hard it is with a new baby...im still getting over the shock !
Nickers Nixon is such a cutie.. seems like a really happy baby - makes me so impatient for Aneta to start smiling and giggling
@*&#*%# ! i JUST managed to settle Aneta and DH comes home from the shops and rings the doorbell ( I told him the door will be left open ).... somebody give me the strength to not get hormonal again... gotta run!
-
Hi ladies!!
I can't be online long as Aleise is in her baby rocker and amusing herself with 10 news atm.
Bleeding: I had a c/s but had bleeding for 4 weeks and the 5th was light spotting too. I didn't bleed much at all though. I read that you can have up to 6 weeks of bleeding even after a natural birth. If you have too many clots or any that are larger than 50c then ring your doc!
Jess: Great to hear Patrick is home now. Good luck with house hunting and hope all goes well for you - Lord knows you need some luck darls!
Candy: Thanks for your "knitting vibes" I've started a beanie now. Poncho is finished just gotta stitch up the 2nd side although I think it may be too small!
Didn't you post a message that Ryan was sick? Hope he picks up soon if that is the case.
Bath: Thanks for your "welcome back" seems I have lots on atm so its a real achievement when I get online these days.
Tanya: HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Sorry I missed it.
Well I'd better go feed the furbaby, have a shower and get dinner started before Matt comes home at 7.30.
Take care all and will pop in here soon!
-
Well somehow I managed to get all 3 of us down for a nap - yippee! Even tho it meant that for an hour and a half Alex was asleep in the crook of my arm on the bed and now it feels dead, at least we all slept!
Nickers, yeah Alex likes the pram too and the car most of the times. He's not too keen on his bouncer tho and has only just started to laugh and enjoy his play mobiles. His smiles are the sweetest things! Just gotta try and get those grins on camera now.
Sympathise totally Enigma, it is soooo frustrating when you ahve just settled them and someone makes an unexpected noise to wake them. It is also very frustrating when DH's just don't listen! Alex is fine with constant noise, it is the unexpected that unnerves him.
DH is off to Perth tomorrow for work for a few days and I am not looking forward to that at all. I know I will be fine but I just really look forward to him walking in the door at the end of the day and giving me a bit of a break, and also for the adult contact factor too. Its going to be happening every month till Nov so I suppose I will have to get used to it.
Happy Birthday Tanya! It is amazing how much you get to rely on your partner when they are there. Am sure that after a few days you will be an old hand at it, once you have worked out your own way of doing things etc.
-
Thanks for reminding me Gabysmum - I was going to ask , when do babies start smiling / laughing ?? Aneta is 6 weeks old tommorow and her smiles right now are when she is asleep ( probably gas though )... and when she's squeezing out a poo ( definatly gas ) ... I cant wait to start acting like a clown just to make her laugh :)
-
hi everyone can't stop
happy belated birthday Tanya!!!!
glad to hear Patrick's home Jess!!!! Let's hope things start going your way
having trouble finding time to write at the moment - getting time to read though - as I try and get us organised to move in four weeks.
better run and check the 2yr old isn't suffocating Samuel with love and attention.
Big hugs to all and three cheers for us mums and the great jobs we're doing!!!
(Just thought everyone might need a bit of a pick me up)
Candy - hopefully the doc will be able to help with Ryan's conjunctivitis (and anything else that's making him off colour)
-
Enigma- you'll prob start seeing Aneta doing some smiles any day now. I think Nixon took longer than normal but was to be expected. I think he was 8 weeks when i first saw him smile (other then wind) but each week he gets more and more smily. then with smiles comes the gooh and gahs like they are chatting to you and then last week he has started sort of giggling. I was so relieved when i start to see smiles etc its like your reward for all the hard work and effort u put in! if she is not yet you know those precious smiles are just around the corner!Tanya- so did DH forget your bday or remember but not get you anything? I know he's been just as busy but no excuse not to get you something, even if only very small, he could have said this is from Lucas and we'll go and get u something when we have more time. Im a real kid when it comes to bday/xmas its all about YOU and presents and celebrating! tell him he can still make up for it by doing something extra special in the next few days!
I just had a shower with Nixon. done lots of baths but first shower with my boy. I think i prefered the bath, he's a bit hard to hold and slippery! i was worried if he swallowed a gulp of water he could choke? could he?
-
Tulip - we've also had more unsettledness at night, he seems windier at night and I'm not sure if it was some cabbage I ate the other day and for how long that is supposed to have some sort of effect. DP tried to sleep on the couch last night, but cos he wasn't working today I got him back into our bed to help me comfort Oscar - after all, I'm trying to get over a cold and I'm feeling a little wrecked of a night. Funny, in the morning once I'm up I feel perky again and probably do too much as a result.
I've had to make the trip out to my horse again, and will do so daily this week, weather permitting, to check on his sore. Bad news is that if it takes too long to heal I'm going to be looking at stabling him at night...and either spending more money on having that mucked out by someone, or finding the energy to muck it out myself to save some money, grrr! DP had better not whinge about cost if I have to go with the former, cos if he had come to the party weeks ago, my horse wouldn't have had such a severe wither rub!!!
I'm having such a great time using my loaned Hug a Bub! It saves me hauling the pram out at the equestrian centre and I can take Oscar with me out to the paddock to get my horse. Some of the mums there like to hold him, so I do avail when they offer! I might even head out to my work by train tomorrow (have an appt near there on Wednesday and using petrol to drive to the same area two days in a row seems a bit extravagant) with the HAB and my Shop'n'Go trolley. Otherwise, I'll be facing a Wednesday packed with too much - visiting work people, going to Pumpkin Patch for an exchange, a myotherapy appt and heading to some baby supply places looking for some stuff we need...I might prefer to spread it out!
OK, going to get a drink and sort some laundry - need more nappies folded!
-
Enigma - Samuel is 7 weeks tomorrow and he doesn't smile at me either - I have caught him smiling at his toys and his brother occassionally but all I am to him is comforter and feeder - neither of which are worth a smile yet apparently!!! LOL
-
Likewise with Niall and smiling at DH who seems to get lots... maybe our definition of a smile is different: maybe I interpret more "smiles" as wind etc. Oh well I'm in no hurry for Niall to leave his 'newborn' status behind... because he'll be my last *sniff* so I'm savouring all the things that he does like those strange Tai Chi arm movements LOL and his newborn sounds like that final little "quack" sound he makes after he's been crying and I pick him up... like he's telling me off for taking too long LOL. Newborn cries are so little compared to older babies... soon our entire neighbourhood will know when Niall's outraged about this or that... especially over summer when the windows are open... though who knows, he might be different, he's very easy going. Due to wake up any minute then it's bath time. Nic: I don't think he'd choke if he accidentally inhaled/swallowed a bit of water while in the shower... I've read that babies are very good at getting liquid eg milk out of their airways. He'd probably have to be under water totally to be at risk. This is what happened when i was bathing verity when she was a newborn: she turned her head to the side really quickly and took a mouthful... I had to put her over my knee and pat her back to get her to cough it up! OMG I was trembling for the rest of the day... that's why I have showers with my newborns, or lie them on my chest when i'm in the big bath with them. When in the shower i don't use soap... infact i never use soap on them, not just to stop them from being slippery, because I've read so many times that it's not good, not even the Johnson and Johnson baby bath products. Maybe when they are about 5/6 months old and start getting really dirty... but not at this age. Instead i add a few drops of lavendar oil to the bath which is antibacterial and a great relaxant. Mmm, feel like a bath now!
Good to see you again Jaspen :)
-
Almost forgot: regarding having your avatar changed: go to the Platinum thread and you'll find Astrolady's (Kathryn's) email adress. You have to send her an email to ask her... she's pregnant now too so apologetic when she forgets... but you have to ask her anyhow.
-
Ryan does not have conjunctivitis. His tear ducts are blocked and he has some drops for them. It's been a terrible night by Ryan's standards.
-
hi everyone, typing one handed, just wanted to drop in quick and say hi, i read the thread but will do personals later if i get time.
Dee

Ok, time to do a normal reply.
Nic – Nixon is such a cutie!!
Tanya – I agree with Nic that Richard should be able to at least do something small. I remember when Matt went back to work I was terrified of doing everything myself but trust me, you find a way. And then you will find yourself getting frustrated when he gets in your way cause you’re used to doing it all!
Enigma – punch your DH ;) Ryan started smiling at 3 weeks and the big grins & giggles started at about 4.5 weeks. He doesn’t smile while pooing but he smiles when I open the gross nappies & laughs when his daddy does cause Matt gags
Neeny – you’re going great guns. I’ve been SO slack! I really should do more!!
Gabysmum – yay for the nap!!! Any sleep is better than no sleep!!! I have faith in you coping while DH is away. Al the Junies sound like very strong women to me!
IK – your poor pony!! I used to have satin “bibs” for on my ponies to stop wither / shoulder rubs. Do you have one?? They’re GREAT. I agree though, space your appointments out if you can!
Jaspen – are you looking forward to the move? At least it will be warmer!
Bath – I hope Wade’s teeth are coming through ok. Sounds like you have everything under control there!!
Heaven – hope you’re travelling smoothly way up north?
*hugs* to anyone I've missed.
-
Jaspen - good to hear im not the only one who is being " used " for feeding , comfort and nappy changes...
Aneta smiles at something.. im sure its a real smile that one , but its not DH or me or anyone but something above our heads somewhere on the ceiling... I read this really random article once that babies see spirits.. so I told my DH she is seeing someone who passed away maybe my grandma , grandad etc. .. now he thinks im insane
Candy - I hope Ryan's eyes clear up quickly - Aneta had it for ages.. she used to wake up with her eye lids stuck together.. couldnt even open it until we washed it :( .. as for punching DH.. you got urself a deal! I'll give him a good hit when I go to wake him up :)
Gabysmum - yep , its exactly that way here.. she sleeps through the loudest noise.. as long as its not sudden..
Aneta has her 6 week check up and Hep B shot today.. cant wait to see how much she weighs..
Does anyone elses baby fake their cries? hehehe its sooo funny. Aneta does this thing when she is fed , changed and bored.. she forces cries out of herself , but they dont work so it just comes out like a quiet scream.. then she waits.. no one reacts so she tries again.. you can tell she is desperatly trying to get a real cry to happen but it wont work for her.... if you leave her a bit longer though , the real cry eventually comes ( and disappears as soon as she is picked up )
I could watch her all day long ;)
alright , im off to give DH that punch... Have a good day everyone!
-
Hi again Mummies! :hello:
Aleise is starting to stir in her baby swing so I can't write much this time.
I had my tax done this morning and I'm going to get a good amount so I guess I should start thinking on what part of the house needs to be fixed first! haha! I hope this year I get to buy myself something 'cause last year I didn't! :crying: Anyway will have to wait and see how much Matt is going to get back. Accountant told me its best to claim my medical expenses on his return as it doesn't affect how much I'm getting back 'cause I'm on a lower threshold. Don't you love tax time???
Candy: What do you mean you've been slack? About your craft projects? I didn't realise you had horses - are they close to where you live? I used to go to a riding school when I was in upper primary and high school. My parents could never afford a horse and I wish I could ride again *sigh*.
Tanya: Sorry to hear your DH didn't get you a birthday gift, If you email me your address I can send you a "Qld" gift!
Well I'd better go - got to get to Kmart and buy a zip for this 1920s flapper dress I'm making for the ball on Saturday. I'd better start sewing it today too! Take care all.
Hugs all round.
Neeny xoxo:p
-
Enigma - I think Ryan sees "people" too. He always looks past us, over our shoulder and coo's away!
Neeny - Personally I hated tax time this year. last time I got over $1k back. this year, half that!!!! Hopefully Matt will get something better! I have been REALLY slack with my craft :) I haven't stated or finished anything since Ryan's arrived. I do have horses but they live with my mum at the moment because agistment in the ACT is impossible for us at the moment :( I miss competing heaps!
-
Patrick did the cutest thing yesterday afternoon. I had him laying on the pillow behind me while I was helping Jack with his homework and I turned to check him, well he was laying there laughing and smiling at the curtain! Gee, babies have good sense of humours!
Well, tomorrow morning at 8am Jack goes away to his very first camp!
He made the decision to go because I still had reservations about his wandering and talking to strangers.
-
Hi gals, I am going to speed post now while I have a quiet baby!
Both kids have a cold atm, they have caught it off DH who caught it from work. Luckily I have avoided it so far, but it is so horrible to see Freya, she is very blocked up and has trouble feeding. She has been so snuffly, I slept with her for a couple of nights because I was so paranoid about her breathing, but last night she was good, she did a 4 hour stretch in her cot, was utter bliss for me!
Had to go to a funeral yesterday (my friend's father) and MIL had to look after the kids for an hour or so. After explaining to her about Freya needing constant attention, being held etc., she announced she was going to cure her of it by ...putting her down! As if it's that simple! I was so offended, did not want to leave after that!
It is so lovely to see everyone's babies in their tickers, what a gorgeous lot of children we have here in the Junies!
OK, she's off again, better go!
-
Candy - im so glad your baby sees " them " too... hehe... bottlefeeding , blocked tear ducts , seeing things... whats up with Ryan & Aneta?? we should introduce them one day - tell them how much they had in common ;)
Jess - omg! only NOW can i understand how scary it must be sending your child on their first camp... hope the time flies for you and he is home asap!
cant write much , Aneta needs me to hold her and bounce on the fitness ball until I need painkillers ;)... BUT we just got back from her 6 week checkup and she weighs 4.8kg now... that explains sooooo much .. she's grown 6cm too.. phew! before I know it she'll be too tall to get through doorways heheh..
ok , over and out Junies... i'll try and be back later
-
Jess - I'll be here if you need to fret while Jack's away. I understand your fears and you know you can always vent away!
Enigma - Maybe Ryan and Aneta are destined to be mates lol! If anything when we introduce them we will freak them out!! Ryan's check up is meant to be monday but we won't be back from my sisters til that afternoon so it will now be on wednesday. (here in the ACT it's called the 6-8 week check)
On a good note, I just won $200 on the radio so I can get my "Ryan" tattoo now!!!
-
Candy- Congrats on the win!! how did u win it?
could Ryan & Aneta be smiling at the lights in the house? Nixon quiet often stares up at them & loves the big red ones we have in our kitchen. sorry dont want to put a dampner on seeing other people they very well could be!
Jess- How many days is the camp? did u give Jack a big talking to about wandering.
cot my porta cot thismorning from Target. havent had a chance to get it out cause i come back fed Nixon and off to mothers group, just got back and feeding again. the house is a mess! Im leaving DH to unpack his own bag which we'll see how long that takes... I unpacked my stuff and Nixons when we got home on sunday and told dh to get out dirty clothes for me to wash. his bag is still sitting in the middle of the floor and Im not moving it!
Nixon keeps wetting through his clothes lately, finally i think its time to move on from newborn nappies! I was planning to anyway once i finish what i have, then might try a few different brands and see whats good on him.
Jo- i hope the kids recover quickly and hopefully you dont catch the cold
-
Nah Nic, he's always looking up into a corner away from the middle of the room.
jo - hope your littlies feel better soon!!
-
Nic.. shhh! its people ;) ... sounds more interesting that way
Candy - where are you getting the Ryan tattoo?? I wanted a Aneta one , but ive already got 2 tattoos.. promised myself id stop at that
i hear the poetic sound of a baby crying...ciao!
-
Well I am very excited because Tori has started to smile, she even smiled for the MCHN when we went today.
She had another weigh in today and has put on 450gm in 2 weeks, so she is now 4605-900gm above birth weight.
I amstill really struggling to settle Tori during the day, she will go to sleep but after iput her down will only sleep for about 30 mins and then wake up. I have tried leaving her in her bassinet to see if she will self settle but it doesnt seem to be working. The MCHN told me at this age they should only be awake for about an hour and a half at a time, but Tori goes from about 8-4 ish with only a couple of cat naps, I am wondering if she is just getting thoroughly over tired and that is making it harder to get her to sleep?
have been trying all afternoon to have a nap, but only managing half hour at a time. Finally DH got home from work and offered to take her so I could have a sleep, andjust as i laid down the neighbour starting cutting their lawn with the whipper snipper...... so there goes that idea! I willhopefully just have to have an early night- if little miss is easy to get to bed.
Anyway better go, DH has gotten the baby to sleep, got a few things i need to get done!
-
hi girls,
well its 1am ... Aneta is sleeping but she had her first immunizations yesterday - and she had a bit of a temperature ( 37.8 degrees ) at 9 pm so im too worried to sleep.
I cant wait for her to wake up for her feed so i can make sure she's not lethargic or anything...*sigh*....stress stress stress
the immunization was meant to be given at 8 wks but we were there for the hep b shot. The lady said she cant do just hep b but we can give her the 8 wk immunization - after she reassured me a million times it wont effect Aneta if its 6 or 8 wks we decided to get it today..
hmmmm god, i hope she will be ok..
now im stressing for no reason again ...grrrrr
-
Enigma - I hope Aneta's temp has gone down & she's feeling good. Ryan has his shots on the 11th :( I want daddy to take him! Did you end up getting some rest? I'm getting my ryan tattoo inside my left wrist. It will be my second tattoo. I think an aneta tattoo is a good enough reason to get a third!
Ali - yay for smiles. they're heart melting aren't they? ryan is also a cat napper during the day but sleeps well at night.
Tanya - hope Lucas' eye is just a blocked duct. it's so easy to treat. let us know how you go! maybe once that clears up he'll settle down!
-
Good morning boys and girls :) , reason I am so happy is that I got a FANTASTIC nights sleep last night! Don't want to brag as I know there are a lot of you out there having sleepless nights but it is amazing how upbeat I feel this morning. Alex went down at 8.30 last night (after a bit of struggling mind you) and slept through till 3.30!!! Had a half an hour feed and is now still sleeping at 7am!!! What a good boy he is!!
I definitely hear you tho Tulip and Ali about the small catnaps. Alex is just not interested in anything longer then 20 mins during the day. There have been the very rare times where he has had a longer nap but that is mainly because he has been crying for half the morning that he tires himself out. Sigh, at least I am getting an ok night sleep so can't complain too much.
How exciting for you Ali that Tori is starting to smile! It really is the sweetest thing, bet you were so proud when she smiled for the nurse!!
Nickers we were having that problem of wetting through the nappies for quite some time and I couldnt woirk out why - still can't! The funny thing is that Alex will wet up his back not his front and more often then not his nappy will actually be dry. My aunt suggested he must have a hose down there to be able to do that, you know like when you turn one on but leave it on the ground and it goes everywhere??!!! :D
Gaby has her first day of daycare today and I thought I was looking forward to the break but now I am not. I think I am going to cry, am getting worried about all sorts of little things like will she remember to say that she needs to go to the toilet, will she be able to nap with the other kids etc. Am sure she will just wave to me and wont have a second thought either!!:crying:
Spoke to soon, can hear Alex waking up now. Have a great day everyone.
-
Morning Junies !
All is well with Aneta , temp has gone down - she was hungry and let out a VERY healthy cry so all is ok :) .. phew! 1st immunization behind us!..
Candy - I usually dont care about needles etc. But I had to look away when they stuck it into Aneta's leg.. my poor baby :(
Well , its been a ***** morning for me :( Woke up to a VERY angry mother who decided to let out all her stress on me. She went crazy , shouted at me for about 45 minutes straight... about absolutly everything. That ive never accomplished anything in life. That i have ruined Aneta's life and im a bad mother - that im a ridiculous wife .. the list goes on.... I hardly ever cry , but it was so hard to hold it back ( did manage tho - cant let her see she's affected me )...... at the end of this nice " conversation " she told me to move out - because she is sick of seeing me go to sleep and " pretend im tired " while she has to cook dinner for my husband. Yep, thats all it was over - she had to cook dinner for DH because I hadnt made him anything to eat.
So now , DH , Aneta and I are going to need to find a place to live. I dont have any idea how we are going to manage this... the 1st time in my life that im not working and living off centrelink payments - and something like this comes along grrr.. DH cant work either because he is here on a tourist visa... *sigh*.... keep your fingers crossed for me girls! Hopefully I will find a cheap place to rent , and someone who will actually trust to rent it to an unemployed young couple with a baby :(
Sorry... needed to vent
-
Oh Enigma! (((Hugs))) What a witch! How could a woman be so heartless as to throw a new mum and baby out like that??? What does your DH have to say about it? Good grief, some of our mothers are just beyond belief! What's wrong with them? How soon they've forgotten how tiring and demanding having a new baby can be! Are they jealous??? My blood's boiling about this... don't they realise that they are setting themselves up to be lonely old women? Soon she'll be the one needing the support of a family. Maybe you can turn a negative into a positive and actually find yourself a unit to rent... it'll only be for a short time won't it? When do you go back to Poland?
Me: DS has a slight cold... coughing keeping him awake... he said he wanted to go to bed but is up and down like a yoyo... he's tired and needs the sleep (rubbing his eyes) but just won't relax and lie down. Thankfully Niall is sleeping.
-
Bath thanks for understanding :) ... my mum has these mood swings , she is my best friend one moment and then like this the next.
Deep down i know she doesnt want us to leave but she never ever thinks before she speaks in situations like these... why am i making excuses for her?? I dont know. Maybe because i cant imagine saying something like that to Aneta when she is my age and needs my help... ahh well
DH and I are going back to Poland in January , might actually go back sooner - when Aneta is 3 months old... OMG a 30 hour flight / connection time with a 3 month old... we'll see how the saga unfolds..
Sorry to hear Wade isnt feeling his best... poor little guy if its not his teeth its a cold.. is it hard giving your attention to 3 kids at once??? Im not sure if I could do it... well done ;)

Hi all,
Nixon & I both had grumpy nights last night. i dont know if he gave it to me or i did to him. But he just wanted to be held, he would scream tears, coughing, red face and as soon as he was picked up stop immediately. Cried whilst trying to eat dinner, eventually i had to put him down whilst i finished something and he went silly. DH end up picking him up and got frustrated when he didnt settle for him. He wanted me to settle him but i refused saying if i am the only one that can settle him now we might have a problem later...... DH is really good with him but i still feel i dont get any "me time" even if he has him im always doing things for him, getting his clothes out for his bath, washing or putting out his clothes, getting his night bottle ready. DH thinks this is my time but i don't think it is..anyone else ever feel like this?
so anyway after arguing bout that i fell asleep on the lounge @ 9.30pm. Dh managed to get his bottle ready himself (amazing he can actually do it!) feed Nixon and wrap him and put him to bed, he woke me at 11pm so go to bed. So he didnt get his "top up" i usually give him but still lasted till 5.45am.
Today we went to mums and bubs aerobics and he was getting a little grump toward the end, got home and he slept in the car for 1 1/2hrs!
Enigma, you poor thing, Im too really upset that your mum said some nasty things to you. How quickly they forget sometimes. She will regret it later when you do move out and eventually go back to Poland because she wont see either of you...one of the girls in Mothers group was flying to England for 2 weeks today with her 11week old.... i wonder how he goes, i'll let u know when she gets back if she found any handy hints whilst flying.....
Gabysmum- Thats excellent sleep from Alex good boy! hopefully he can keep doing similar routines! How did Gaby go at daycare? Must have been hard leaving her, im sure she had heaps of fun though!

Enigma - good one, look for a place for 6 months and do your little family a favour :) I hear you on the hot and cold thing with your mother, but right now you don't need Aneta exposed to that cr@p. It's bad enough at any time, but it can't be healthy to have an infant seeing outbursts as hideous as this coming from someone who at other times is very sweet - very confusing for anyone, let alone a baby who's just getting to know who it can trust for comfort. Maybe try public housing as well? It's hard to get a rental if you are unemployed, unfortunately, but I'm sending positive thoughts to you!
Tulip - ha, the comment about keeping him awake during the day...DP gave me this one! Only yesterday! And here's the thing...we'd been out of the house most of the day with him in my Hug a Bub, so it's not like he could have been in a deep sleep, even though he was 'asleep' in the sling. He was in and out of the car about 4 times etc. So I just gave DP the 'look'. Anyway, last night was not bad. DP said he was going to give Oscar a bath and I asked him to do it by 9.30 (he usually gets round to it at about 10.30!) so that I could feed him and put him down, and myself down. Well! It seemed to do the trick. DP put Oscar into the bassinet (cos it's tilted and we're trying the theory that a tilt will alleviate wind) and I went to bed, DP following about an hour later. Oscar didn't wake till 3.45am, so that was nice, even though my boobs were full as two googs! I know that this unsettledness doesn't last forever, so that keeps me going. It was harder when I had my cold, but it doesn't last long, in the scheme of a child's life.
DP copped on to himself and was nice to me when he came to bed last night...and we DTD. I had been trying to tell him that if he had pulled himself away from the computer and not been so surly looking in the last couple of weeks, he would have got some two weeks ago! Anyway, some boy talk yesterday revealed that some friends of ours had DTD 4 times on Sunday - I think that jolted him into realising that we hadn't DTD since the night we brought on labour...5 weeks ago!! Being that I didn't have any trauma to my bits from the birth, I was able for it sooner than many new mummies - stupid DP!!
OK, got to get to my pony with this boy and I've managed to make myself a nice lunch...a first.
BTW, Candy - I had on my horse a cotton combo under the canvas and it has a satin lining, but the canvas is too heavy on his unmuscled frame - he really is quite out of condition and I'll need to keep a synthetic on him when he's being spelled from now on. I have a bib but it wouldn't have made a huge difference - he was left unattended cos DP wouldn't take me out there to get the rugs off for me :(

Well I am feeling pretty exhausted today, Tori was really unsettled last night, and still wont sleep much during the day. As i posted in one of the other threads I am beginning to wonder if she has reflux of silent reflux. I might take her to the Dr. and see what they can tell me.
Enigma Sorry to hear that things with your mum are tense. I hope they get better soon.
Nickers DH and I had a similar 'discussion' last night, while he really does try to help, when he gets home from work he just wants some down time, but what he doesnt realise is that I want some adult company...... and I want him to take Tori for just a little while, especially these days when she is not sleeping so well. He gets frustrated trying to settle her, and hands her back to me, but as I pointed out to him last night, if I cant settle her its just tough luck for me, there is noone for me to hand her too.
IK We tilted Tori's bassinet as well, in hopes that it helps her to sleep, I am willing to try anything to get her back into a somewhat reasonable sleeping pattern.
Bath Sorry to hear that Wade is not well, hopefully it wont last too long.
Well I just happened to walk past Pumpkin Patch today and say that they had a sale so I went in to check it out, I came out witha couple of outfits for Tori, I just couldnt help myself they were so cute.
Anyway better go and start organising dinner
