Hmmm, does DD1 have contact with her Bio aunt? If she's nice I'd start there... where does she live? and where does your ex live? people do change... maybe run it past your ex and see where he is at in life. It would be so tricky, follow you heart Jess.
ATM she is in Melbourne and the only contact she has is either through the internet( MSN) or by me talking to her.
I'm actually terrified of talking to my ex,because when we split we didn't really leave on the best terms (how would you feel if you found your fiance in bed with one of your so called best friends????)He is about 45 mins away from me.

Its a very hard situation for you. Does DD1 ask about her dad? Was she young when you two split? I would say it depends on ex DH's attitude about it and whether you think both of them can handle it. I totally agree with Bath, follow your heart and I'm sure it will guide you in the right direction.

DD1 knows about L***(his first name) as she calls him, I have never hidden anything from any of my kids. She also knows that she has 2 little sisters that live with him.
Mel- I had just found out i was pg with DD1 when we broke up so no she doesn't remember him. She met him once but she was only 1.
It might be good if she got to know her dad Jess. As long as he doesn't go breaking her heart like he did to you.... but even then if you are there for her through thick and thin it won't be too risky. It helps to know where you've come from and even if it's not the perfect scenario then that can teach us stuff too. I was kept away from my dad for a few years after my parents split and it took a long time to heal the rift. Infact it wasn't until I was an adult that i got to see the full story and make sense of everything. On a practical level it's often good to know your parents for health reasons. She has his genes and if your DH has health problems then it could be a clue for you and her when she gets older. Anyhow, as you know you don't need to rush into anything. Keep up the contact with Bio aunt and see what information she is able to provide.

Mel – sounds like Chelsea had a ball at her concert and great that your were all so proud. Shame about it taking a year for your to get out of the concert hall! Bless her for being so tired and falling asleep on the sofa. Yummy at the white choc chip cookies – are there any left now????

Jess – yay for your 1000th post. Pat sounds lik ehe’s going through it abit with his wheeze poor chappy. Hehe at you feeling old at 32 – wish I was there again! Good luck with your DD1 meeting her bio dad situ – no advice for you on that one as haven’t been there but I’m sure you’ll know what’s best for your dd.
Had quite a nice week here. Spent Wednesday and Thursday mornings with friends and their kids then Friday morning at playgroup so busy busy this week. Took the boys swimming this morning which they both loved then had a friend’s 3rd birthday party to go to this arvo so tested out my new camera that arrived on Thursday – bought it off the net which I have never done before and was so scared as I got an amazing deal but all seems ok so yay I have a new toy! Off to the red bull air races tomorrow which the boys are looking forward to – everytime it’s on the news they are glues to the TV. We went last year and it was great lthough we ended up getting sunburnt as it was such a hot day and very little shade so even with hats and sunscreen you still get cooked – supposed to be 30 degrees tomorrow which will be sizzling weather again – hopefully not as bad as last year though.
Anyway, better go off to bed now. Take care and have a nice rest of weekend

Julie - the melways is just the melbourne street maps you would just call a different name in WA, They call them something else up here as everytime I asked for one at the shop they looked at me like I was from Mars.
I hope it not to hot for you today. it would be great to watch the air races I hope your new toy gets some good shots.
Jess- you avvy bath did a great job. sorry dont know what I would do in the same situation, maybe use the bio aunt as a sounding board to see what your ex things as he may not feel ready to meet DD yet. Good luck.
Mel - how funny with BHG zayden stayed up once again to watch it bringing out his mag and ficking through the pages until he could read and watch what was on the TV, and saying everytime that they told us about the mag " I got it already" dont know who he thought he was talking too, he now wants to make the girls the rocking horse!! how hard did that look!
Nic - sorry about the feed problems I too know how you feel always remember that you are doing all that you can do. sounds like you have plenty of milk, hope it improves for you soon.
haven't done much here I might take the kids to bunnings today to do some craft, just brought the book 19 mins for the book club it quite good never been in a book club before so I will see how I go.
Kai is now talking all the time now with real words but she thinks they are so if you talk back to her she get really excited and "talks" real loud and fast.

Hi girls - Flynn is snoozing so time for a nice long post!
Jess your av is fantastic (well done Bath - you better start working on mine soon LOL!!). As for DD1 meeting her dad I think it is a good idea - if he has changed and makes her feel welcome then all the better but if he is a $hit it is better (IMO) that she finds this out for herself, as hard as that may be, than imagine in her head that he is some lovely guy and her mean mother kept him from her. I think it would be better to grow up knowing (or at least having a child's inkling) about your parents than to turn 18 and have a whole fantasy world come crashing down. I am actually thinking of a friend's nephew - her brother was 16 when the boy was born and pretty well since the kid was 2 he has had sole custody cause his ex-GF/son's mum is a complete train wreck who doesn't care about any of her kids. Now my friend's brother is a great dad (the boy is now 12) who lets him see his mum whenever he can and regularly drives him to Sale to see her - the family even bought a house down that way so they had somewhere to stay while the boy was with his mum. But the mum keeps making promises she doesn't keep and breaking the boy's heart, but like I said it is better that the boy have the love and support of his dad who tries to let him see his mum than for him to create a fantasy picture of her.

Bath I am like you - a big fan of the rain. Bummer is DH wanted to finish our side fence today (it looks fantastic - we haven't had a side fence for about 5 years!!) We are having salmon tonight (was going to be last night but ended up going to an Indian restaurant with friends and their 2yo girl - lots of fun!!)

I have been really taking it easy since I have been on leave - its been 2 whole days and I feel much more relaxed. I am not stressing about cleaning everything in one day and have spent my days pottering through my list of jobs and napping when Flynn does.
That said he is asleep now and I should be napping, but DH insisted that I check out the maternity bras he googled - he "made" me buy 3 new ones and a matching set of undies and has insisted I visit DFO and buy another 2!! I gotta admit I am sick of the 4 I have - I have worn nothing else since I was pg with Flynn, so that would make it almost 2 years. And to think I have 3 enviro shopping bags filled with lacy bras and undies that I can no longer wear, stashed away for that long-off post baby-and-BF time (circa 2010 at this rate LOL!!!)
My mum and stepdad are going to take Flynn for the day - they were planning on going to the Whittlesea Show but have decided against it because of the rain. So I think they will take him to Highpoint Shopping Centre instead.
Better go - I stocked up on mince at the market yesterday so I better cook it or freeze it.

Thanks guys, i dont like to keep on going on about the feeding, i dont want a medal for my effort i just want to be able to feed my baby the way nature intended but he doesnt want to jump on the band wagon with me. I expressed a lot of emotions i didnt know i had with myself last night as i was just with Ty, parents had Nixon while dh was at a wedding.
ive talking through some of them with DH thismorning but think i might talk to someone if my feelings keep getting the better of me.
sorry for my lack of personals atm and of recent i've been a bit wrapped up in my own world so appologies for that.

DD1 as I have already told you, has known about her "other" family since she was old enough. She knows that L*** got married and had two little girls, one is only 3 months younger than her! She also knows that her Ex-Step-mum is a very unstable person.
I was talking to DD1's aunt the other day and she was telling me that they have spoken about her in the past but have never told her who they have been talking about,if that makes sense? My ex's expartner is the person that I am really worried about as she is very malicious and IMO very dangerous. So you can see why I don't want her to be involved.

Jess - like I said, don't apologise. Thats why we are all here as a sounding board for times like this. I can understand why you would be wary, esp if ex's ex-partner is not a very stable person. Hopefully you can keep her out of the picture. I know you will do whats right for your kids, you always have.
Bath - the rain was fantastic last night. It bucketed down for ages and I had the most devine sleep in ages. When I woke up, it was still raining and we have a tin roof, I love the sound of rain on the roof and better still, the kids slept until 9am! It hasn't stopped raining here all day and its only 13 degrees outside.
Julie - not many bikkies left, I have been eating far too many! The Red Bull race looks fantastic. I am sure you'll have a great day and remember to slip, slop, slap. What camera did you get, I am looking at buying a new one too and have no idea what I want?
Tali - my DH is not a very handy person and we laughed when watching how easy he made the rocking horse look. It was so cute, wish he could make it. Have fun at Bunnings.
Rory - glad to hear you are getting some time to relax. There is nothing better than having nice underwear, whether it be maternity bras or not. And there are so many pretty, feminine ones around now. Pity about Flynn missing out on the show but it wouldn't be much fun in this rain. The Dandenong one is on next week I think?
Nic - hang in there and you do deserve recognition for your effort! Keep talking about your feelings, don't let them get the better of you. Talk to whoever you feel comfortable with, it all seems better if you can get it out. We are all here for you. Don't apologise, you have every right to be wrapped up your own world right now. Only quickly left the house this morning to get the paper and milk, and it was freezing!!!! Having a quiet one inside today, feels like a real winters day but my garden and lawn are loving it!

Mel - thanks for the tip on the Dandy Show - no doubt the grandparents will take Flynn! Today they took him to Highpoint and tired him out - I had a nice 2-hour nap and pottered around while DH tried to finish the fence between showers - he is like a man obsessed at the moment!!

Well, I was talking to the bio aunt last night and she told me that her and her other brother were coming up last night. So, we decided to meet them on the side of the road in Corowa. We clicked again straight away and have decided to keep the meetings going.
This morning though, she asked L*** if she could get a lift into Corowa so she could see some friends, and he asked if she was seeing me....she thought quickly and said no, but I think the games up, he knows that we have been talking and i don't think it will be long until he wants to see his daughter.
