Babies Born June 2006 #46

DH and I have been playing Yahtzee together in the arcade... off to bed now... looking forward to reading your birth story after playgroup and doctors tomorrow (Niall has been fine, occassional tug at ear, went to sleep easily at about 8.30pm). Oh the rain Mel!!! I had the bureau of meteorology site on and looked at all the dark red areas (really heavy rain) I hope the catchments got a lot of it! it was right on your door step maya! But geeze, we had a curtain of water overspilling our gutters at the back and a mini waterfall down the back step. Stopped just in time for Verity's walk home from school luckily. I called ParentLine today too because everything was getting on top of me and I've been looking for a MA for so long now and they had some ideas which i'll pursue. Has anyone used the online Find A BabySitter site? A few other BB members have and seem to like it but it costs nearly $50 to register and that only gives you access to their database for 3 months! Tali: it's been very humid down here too so there wouldn't be much of an escape! they say it's going to be a very humid summer (which will help keep bush fires at bay perhaps) but ugh hate feeling sticky! Also hate how everything goes moldy :( Had to throw out an unopened packet of crumpets today oh well good practice for Singapore if we ever get there. Nighty nite to all!

Oooh, I LOVE humid, Bath! My hair doesn't, though...LOL! Yep, today, in one burst of rain, we got 36mm (MIL measured it) and we lost so much of our road that it's back to bare rock - large river-type rocks that our cars must negotiate as well as the corrugation! There is debris all over our roads. Poor council men were looking for the cause of a blockage on the main street of Belgrave and I told them that police divers are trained to do what they were trying to do! It's been a beautiful thing - all the roads were steaming, as well as the long grass.
Mel - got my results and I got a pass...far better than what I could have got instead! Are you able to tell what mark I got for my exam, on the system? I think, from memory, that maybe only the course co-ordinators have that info, but I may be wrong. Whatever I got in my exam got me over the edge, phew!
Tonight at the Tupp meeting I scored in the raffle, for the first time! I took the 3.75 litre jug and I am so pleased! No more vintage jug that doesn't close properly :)
Anyway, back to my things here and my 5 or 6 boxes (I embellished just a little before!) of orders...or I may leave them till tomorrow...

Thanks guys, not that its good but it is reassuring to know other children have done similar to my neice and Nixon. You know u always hear of tradgidys on the news of children being hit by a car or wondering off but never think it will be one o yours, but now i understand just how quickly these things can happen.

Rory- your birth story is amazing i loved reading it! Im glad you got the birthyou wanted and look forward to seeing some more pics of Oliver!

Unfortunatley i made the big decision a few days ago to stop bf. The straw that broke the camels back was a feed a few days ago, i was trying desperatly for Tyron to want my boob, he screamed sooooo much and got so upset, i then got upset seeing him so upset and ust thought to myself what am i doing. I have been fighting like this with him for 7weeks now. Anyway I am still expressing but not as much (only twice a day) so he is still have all breast milk at this stage, and i think i should have enough to get him to 3months, thats my goal anyway. anything more is a bonus.
I've even given Nixon some EBM which i feel really good about being able to! He started coming down with a cold and i really think its helped him not get worse, he still has a runny nose but quiet alright in himself. Maya thank you so much for all your support, i really do appreciate it, it all helped me get as far as i did with it.
Bath- Poor Niall i wonder if the Mr potato heads arm went into his eat ouch? My dh stuck cotton balls in his ears when he was about 3, dressed in his superman outfit and thought he could fly, jumped off the stairs, fell and pushed one of the buds into his ear drum, he already was born with 20% loss and then lost a further 20-30% in the same ear. I hope Niall will be ok and doesn't have anything serious.

Wow I you guys did have a lot of rain watched it on the news looked like you had a bit of tropic weather down there atm. We have all been told that this is looking like its going to be a big year for cyclones aswell, they are perdicting about 7 will hit the east coast so I guess we will have to wait and see what happens, they do seem to say this each yr though, but the weather does seem to be all over the place atm.

Nic- Happy that you have come to a decion that you are comfortable with, like I have said before you have to do what you think is best for all the family. I do know how hard it is to be wanting and trying to have baby on the breast when they just dont want to be there it is just heart breaking I too shed alot of tears over this.

Jess- I am soooooo sorry I was meaning to say Happy birthday yesterday but it was on the other page and forgot to write it, I knew I had forgotten something and that was it so a big

Nic - great work, chicky :) No beating yourself up over it, there's no point - onwards and upwards! Remember there's a forum on the ABA site for mothers who have had to switch to the bottle, if you want to share with similar people. And then there's us (I sound like a broken record!).
Gotta save the house from Oscar, whilst cleaning it at the same time...mission impossible...

LOL Maya... our house has already been totally 'captured' by the boys in the short time we've been home. Very low motivation to even try and regain the lost territory today.... even waving a white flag doesn't help... but offers of food does sometimes wins over the attackers for a brief time! Welcome to the war zone!!!

My biggest problem is the adult kid who wouldn't deign to pick up anything he left around the house, let alone what Oscar drags around and leaves wherever! Oscar doesn't necessarily make things messy, he just gets up to hijinks whilst I am tidying up, so nothing gets done properly :( Then DP has the gall to tell me I'm not managing my time properly! I left him here last night with Oscar and do you think anything got picked up in my absence? My plan is to disconnect his computer and hide the power cord where he'll have to tidy up to find it...

Yep... been there done that with hiding computer parts LOL with us it just resulted in a big fight and nothing changed. The only thing that helps the big kids to understand is when they finally link home harmony/mood to tidiness. Eventually my DH decided that a bit of effort was worth it if it meant my mood was good. Also, once Oscar actually starts to break a few of your Dp's precious items then he might have a change of mind. My Dh knows that his things stay intact at my mercy. If I get p!ssed of with him and his stuff lying around I just let the toddler have free reign. Everything of mine's that precious is already broken or put away or hanging on a wall well out of reach. I'm resigned to not having anything nice out for the next 5 years. Also Verity does just as much damage herself somedays.... so really after they have all left home might be a more realistic timeframe. Maybe this is why my dream is to pack everything up and live out of motels for the next 2 years.... everything would be safe then!

*sigh* it wasn't so bad a month ago when he'd come home and work on the stumps under the house. Now he's not even doing that and I still do everything when he gets home...
Oscar is asleep, so I'd better pack my Tupperware!

Thanks girls, at least I can count on you for my birthday wishes. DH made me "subway" for dinner last night ( Chicken fillets in a roll like subway!) and then we had a pavlova for dessert. Went fishing with Dad this morning, unfortunately the fish weren't biting.

Hi to mel, Jaspen, Ali, Gabysmum and everyone else

All good here. Oscar had his birthday on Friday and loved his pressies. We got him one of those garages where the cars whizz downs and rounds and round and both the boys are so addicted to it - it keeps them quiet for hours - bliss! i made Cailin's recipe banana muffins and took them to playgroup and stuck a candle on top so he got sung to. We had a little party on Sunday for 10 kids and as the theme for his invites and card was tractors - i made him a tractor cake! - will put it in the gallery in a few minutes as i was proud of it myself! did some little boxes instead of lolly bags which ill also put in the gallery too - i love spotlight for their supplies!

oscar chipped his other tooth at swimming on saturday - ahhhh will it ever end?? enough said about that. Went to the dentist on monday morning as a follow up for Will's tooth accident a few weeks back and his front one has mainly moved back into its correct position so that was good news. he looked at oscar while we were there and said he thought it was ok.

House is allegedly finished on Friday! watch this space though as i should find out tomorrow from the foreman - painter going in on Monday whatever happens though! ive booked the removal van for 17th dec so it finally feels real - better get packing then!

Glad you got my card I really do enjoy making them just hard to come up with new ideas for different cards.

bath and Maya- if you ever came over to my house you would see a true War zone here unfortunely for DH I wasn't born with the cleaning bug like he was, but after 10 yrs of going away he has learnd a few thing.
1. if he thinks he's going to "get " any that night then dont complain about the state of the house lol
2. if he doesnt like it he will re-clean it himself
3. after been home a few days he realises what a loseing battle it really is with 3 kids running around.

So now we never really fight about cleaning yippy and we much happier for it lol

but seriously it's next to impossable to keep my house clean it always looks mess I really do try to keep it clean but it never does, one of my GF always know when DH has been home as its always just that little bit cleaner than I could ever get it. Dont know how he does it but atleast one of us can make it clean for all of a second until the 3 of them wake for the next stange of distruction.

So I'm telling you all now when I move down to melbourne if you ever just want to pop in please do but please excuse all the MESS...

Almost forgot when I got up this morning Kai had drawn all over our cream couch with red pen its that micro fiber stuff I have tried to get it of using baby wipes as that normally works but so far it has just faded the red a little bit do any of you have any ideas? I need HELP !!!!

Tali: try Aeroguard if you think you could handle the lingering smell! It shifts the strangest things and once i got it to shift biro ink off a white leather lounge perfectly when everything else failed. You could also try a tiny bit of citrus turps (not mineral turps) just test a small area with a cotton bud and see how it goes.... it's also a very powerful solvent so use sparingly if you decide to give it a go...Goodluck! :) I soooo feel your pain... as you can see from my frequent posts on "destruction" I am very demoralised by it all.

Housework- Not something I like to do and i feel like it is a loosing battle in this house as I have said before I have white tiles through 3/4 of my house and I just get them mopped and they look filthy again.......grrrrr

Rory- I read your birth story, what beautiful memories you are going to have of Oliver's arrival (I love the name to btw).

I had a Hossy appointment yesterday and the ob told me I am having a boringly normal pregnancy which is great, everything is set to go, baby is engaged, BP fine, weight stable, no protein etc I dont have to go back for a fortnight because she said she was sure I had better things to do with my time than sit in the clinic to be told what I already know.

I am cross at my MIL again, as you might remember we had to pay to get the hot water system replaced, and she told us not to pay rent untill it was paid off. Last night she was talking to DH (on the net) and she said, you better start payin rent again soon otherwise the bank might forclose on the morgate. I was like WTF? she made it sound like we were not paying rent because we didnt want to/ couldnt not because we were helping her out by paying off her bill...........grrrrrrrrrrrr. It is her bloody morgagte not ours, and if she cant afford to own investment properties then she shouldnt, not make us feel guilty for something that ISNT OUR PROBLEM............ ok vent over, so glad she lives o/s!

Oh NO Ali! :angry: I remember your sitch clearly and have been wondering how that arrangement was going. How many rent payments did/do you have to skip so that you can pay for that water heater (which I don't think you should have to pay for either!) That is why people RENT so they can be content in the knowledge that if anything goes wrong they won't have to foot the bill. And like I said before SHE can probably claim the expense, given that it's an investment property, on tax but YOU can't! Hmmm, anyhow :hug: let us know how you get along. ETA: great to hear that your pregnancy is going "boringly" well :D

By the time we have paid back to debt to ourselves we would have missed 7 rent payments (we pay fornightly) so for 3 months I dont think there has been any money going onto the morgagte. I wouldnt be so annoyed if her Partner hadnt flown to Australia once if not twice in that time. What i dont think she understands is that it has been quite a pain in our bum to do it, we have had to do some major work on the car etc, and we should have had the money in the bank to pay for it, but instead had to use the credit card! Anyway enough complaining, I love my DH too much to let it cause too much drama.

sorry everyone if you havent guess by now I am hopeless when it comes to spelling, Its really hard for me to write on this forum but I am been a big girl and tring to branch out of my comfort words so sorry if you are having heaps of truble trying to guess what I'm saying. Sadly even DS who is 7 has worked out his mum cant spell and now knows that he need to ask dad.

Tali- I wouldnt worry about the spelling to much at least you having a go. I am not the best speller in the world and I am a teacher, I always have a dictionary on hand in my classroom and never pretend to the kids that I know how to spell every word, it is good for them to see adults using dictionaries.

At school they thought I may have been dislexic but I past those test, in the end the doctor came up with that I was ment to be a left handed child but for some reason I swaped hands and therefore have confuesd my brain as to which I should be iykwim as left and right sides do different things, the only good thing is I can put my make-up on the right side of my face with the right hand and the left side with the left strange I know lol

Tali - don't worry about it, I'm glad you can still communicate with us!!

I do like to spell how it sounds so alot of words in the english languge look very wrong to me so even if I have them right it can take me a few time with the delete button before I am well still unhappy with the word, but keep it there anyway, while others I will just never get so I just give up and hope you all can do your best in understanding it.

Bath - so glad to hear Niall is doing OK, you must be relieved. Sorry to hear things have been getting on top of you, I wish there was something I could do to help you out, if there is, just let me know. Pity we don't live closer. Some days I just let the kids mess the house (I am a bit anal about having a clean house, thanks to my crazy mother!) and leave it until they go to bed. Picking things up once is better than 10 times!!!! My GF has a permanent babysitter, she is the sister of their next door neighbour, 50ish, no kids and such a lovely lady. My GF's kids just love her and she comes every Thursday (my GF has 3 kids 6, 4, 2) to give my GF a break. Not sure how much she pays, but that might be a good idea to give you a bit of "you" time. The rain was unbelievable. BTW, crumpet tip - keep them in the fridge they last alot longer.

Maya - excellent news that you passed, well done! Usually the exam mark on its own is not on the database, only your unit results which can be from essays, exams etc. I am sure Susan could tell you? Good score on the raffle.

Nic - well done on making the decision. At least you know what you are doing know and you can get on with just enjoying your family.

Julie - cake is amazing (and Will is so cute in his builder hat). You are very clever. I am sure they all had a great time, and cool lollie bags too! Donna Hay magazine (Kids edition) has some great party ideas etc for boys and girls. I am a Spotlight fan too LOL!!! Glad to hear both boys teeth are OK, you might have to get used to this worry! Oh getting closer to moving, not long now.

Tali - a clean house is not the be all and end all (this coming from a neat freak LOL!), so long as everyone is happy. I know my house won't fall apart if its not cleaned, so I am getting better. Don't worry about the spelling, we know what you mean and I am glad you are starting to worry less about it.

Ali - you must love having such a "boring" pregnancy LOL! Thats great though, nothing to worry about. I can understand your frustration about MIL, like Bath said, if she had an actual tenant in the house she would have to pay and it would be tax deductible. I think its very sweet what you said about your DH and not wanting to make it a drama. Many women wouldn't do that, so your DH should be very proud of you.

Had a crazy busy day at work today. Got in at 8.15 this morning to get a jump on things. Also have to work tomorrow, then have a meeting in the city that finishes at 5.15pm - right on peak hour! Thats going to be a fun drive home - NOT! Thankfully DH is on holidays so he can spend time being Mr Mum this week. He is not a very good housekeeper but he gives it a go. He made dinner tonight which was very sweet of him but it was awful! I didn't eat too much, he bought frozen vegies (I hate frozen vegies) and they were really undercooked and he did pork schnitzel which he cooked the hell out of. I don't want to make him feel bad, so didn't really say much, just said I wasn't that hungry. He said he will cook tomorrow night too - wonder what he will do? I might suggest spag bol, a safer option.

Better go get my stuff ready for tomorrow.

Thanks all for the congratulations on Oliver's birth! For those who have had more than one did you have the same calm rather than elated feeling that I did? I though maybe I was a bit odd at first but decided to go with it.

Jaspen - I HATE losing posts - if I do a long one I always save in word as I go. AND CONGRATS ON THE PREGNANCY!!!!

Mel - work seems so far away for me ATM, but I am already starting to look forward to going back. How wierd is that! I guess once the pg hormones are gone you feel a bit more normal.

Tali - don't worry bout the spelling :) I am like that with numbers, seriously. I often have to dial numbers over to get them right and swear I am dislexic with numbers like some people are with words.

Ali - ditto on congrats on things being boring - just what you want :) And that so sucks about the HWS!!

Julie - your tooth stories make me shudder about having 2 boys!!! I can just imagine how they can egg eachother on, too. I have all these visions of Flynn convincing Ollie to do dangerous/naughty stuff LOL!

Bath - hugs to you on feeling so down the other day :( I actually acted for the woman who started Find a Babysitter when it first started - she is lovely! Her site is top notch and she really takes it seriously. She is a mum with 2 kids and started it cause she had probs finding reliable sitters. I think you would find someone suitable - most of em are uni students doing teaching or childcare.

Jess - your DH is a hun to make you dinner :)

Well life with 2 is pretty good so far. I am actually starting to believe that lightning can strike twice, as Oliver is extremely placid. I know he is only a week old but so far he pretty well eats and sleeps, isn't a spewy baby and burps really well so fingers crossed he isn't colicky. Flynn is doing well - he alternates between ignoring Oliver and patting him gently then whacking him with excitement, and even touches Ollie's forehead with his own - his sign for "I like you". I completely know it is going to be up and down from here on it, though, but it seems the close gap is working well.

Olilver is feeding 2-4 hourly and at night is doing 11pm, 3pm, and 6-7am feeds, so I am getting a bit of Seaon One of "ER" watched in the wee hours. A friend is coming over today who promised to lend me the complete box set of "Sex and the City" so that should be great.

And this morning I am off to get photos taken of the boys at our local chemist - for $5 they do posed dress-up photos - last year I had Flynn in a basket dressed as an elf. It was a complete crack up LOL!!

jaspen- bugger u lost ur post. how are you feeling? have u had a doc appoint or aything as yet? i know itsearly on but do you think when thetime comes u will find out the sex?
Julie- TBH i havent noticed the spellin from you, i know how many mistakes i make and i quiet often think did that even make sence lol! Ive already told DH when the kids are at school he is the homework parent, i cannot remember much that i learnt in regards to maths etc and i was and still am HOPELESS at Geography. My dad is L handed but plays sports etc with his R hand, i'd love to be able to do both!
Rory- sound liks things are going extremley well atm thats great to hear!Nixon does the same thing to Ty and kisses his little head or gently touches his head against Ty's. However trying to keep them seerated atm as Nixon has a viral infection. Green boogies it was lke a tap and now its gone real thick and gunky. Took hi to the doc thismorning.

Maya- meant to say b4, i didnt do a lot for Record breaker cause im not up o geting straight back into doing parties just yet, but i did 2 mystery hosts at my place and about $1200. all the guests won some fab stuff so everyoe was very happy with it! How did u do?

Update on doula- DH had tried to ring her several times and left msgs but she hasnt rung back. i did send her a very breif email asking for a re-imbursement which took her 2 weeks to respond, i forward it again and she wrote back that she had deposited $250 back ito my acct. Given that i paid her $700 for one visit i am still trying to ge a further $250 like she advised us e would get back if she wasnt at the birth. Her email was as if nothing odd has happened and i was like WTF?
so who knows what will happen from here i am still very dissapointed with it all, it wsnt meant to be like this, i feel so dupped (sp?) with it all, i wanted a Vbac i had a c/s,i wanted to bf, i cant, i wanted the doula for support in all of this and she left me high and dry.
I'll get over it but it's still pretty raw atm so still upset and annoyed with it all.

Spelling, well I try my best, but occasionally wrongly spelt words slip in. Its funny because I had an email come in saying that it doesn't matter how words are spelt as long as the first and last letter are correct.

Good afternoon girls :) Just back from collecting Wade from Kinder....had a great morning! But first:

Jess: That's a very interesting email isn't it?! I've read it before and was amazed to see that I could read it so easily!

Tali: don't worry about your spelling... it's so common with left handed people... my Dad and Sis (rosehannah) are both left handed and have trouble spelling but they aren't stupid! I'm not perfect myself but ever since I downloaded Mozilla's FireFox browser (which has an inbuilt spell checker that even corrects what I type here in BB) I don't have to worry too much. Maybe try to get a hold of that... but it doesn't really matter that much... i understand your posts perfectly :)

Nic: Good to hear you have followed up with your doula, I'm sure you will receive that second lot of money too. What a shame she let you down... she doesn't seem to think that by treating you so unprofessionally that she is letting down her whole profession :angry: News of bad service spreads like wildfire! I'm so sorry you had a bad experience but try not to be too jaded, I guess there are good and bad in all professions but we always get hurt most when it's people who work in the "caring" professions that let us down hey? Hope lil Ty doesn't catch Nixon's bug!

Arrggggh! in the space of typing the above I have had to get up 4 times and close the bloody side gate that Wade keeps leaving OPEN! I'm gonna bolt the thing SHUT if he does it again! He...just....doesn't...get ...it! he has also broken the front gate by standing on it so I can't rely on that to keep Niall in either.... oh this place is falling to bits! *deep breaths* But there is light at the end of the tunnel because as of next Wednesday I HAVE A MOTHER'S ASSISTANT!!! :dance: Finally, this morning Dial-An-Angel rang and said that one of their girls has just become available but only on Wednesdays at this stage (which is ok, just want 1 day a week at this stage until I suss out if she's good. She has been a fulltime nanny but wants to return to study (nursing) and she also rang this morning and we had a chat... she sounds nice and very sensible :) Oh and she lives really close and is happy to do evening babysits as well. She has been police checked too and is one of 7 children herself so our chaos won't phase her she said. She'll be staying until 6pm when DH gets home too so that's the witching hour covered. I really hope this works out... I get a good vibe from her on the phone anyhow. Here's finger's crossed she fits in here well! :crossfingers:

Its just I have never heard of them before and after been a sahm for 7 yrs with a DH who is always away I thought she would have been useful to late now though thats why I want to move to melb so I can ring up mum and dad when I need a break.

It only accourd to me the other day DH and I havent been out with out the kids in 7 yrs and I have never been apart form them unless they are at school which at this stange is only DS, no wonder I am so tired all the time, and feeling very nevess about may going to school.

Tali: A Mothers' Assistant is like an Au pair, helps you at home and/or when you are on holidays etc. Like a babysitter but with you still there (although it sounds like I will be able to trust this woman with collecting Wade from Kinder for me etc) she might also take the kids to the park nearby while I am at home cooking dinner etc. It is a through a private agency but I'll make enquiries about governments rebates. I *think* private nannies are going to be able to be covered by the childcare allowance system now that the Rudd government is in... i think it was one of their policies but don't quote me on that one. I'll be paying her $16 per hour which is good considering her experience and nursing training even though incomplete (I think she has 2/3 years). If she is really good i might consider asking her become a nanny and think about returning to uni myself or maybe getting a job that only demands 1 or 2 days a week. DH is on annual leave as of next Thursday until just after Xmas so she will be returning (if she's suitable) every Wednesday from next January. And girls, i must NOT use her time here to be on BB!!!! LOL

oh bath - half my post that I lost was giving you hugs and some ideas (that you'd probably thought of anyway) but it seems it might be all falling into place with your MA which is great news and hopefully give you the extra time you need whether for family stuff or you time. Wade and Benjamin are sounding very similar at the moment - I sometimes wonder where my sensible thinking little boy has gone cause there are some days I could just throttle him.

Bath- thats great news you for the MA!! Hope she is nice and works well for you. That seems like a pretty reasonable price to pay also.
yep well i have already informed Kelly about the doula and if anyone were to ever talk to me about doula's i would be telling them one to steer clear of. Wordofmouth is such a pwerful tool, it shouldnt be taken for granted.

Bath - thats awesome news about the MA and she sounds perfect. I'm sure she'll enjoying helping out with the kids and giving you some to do other things. Seriously, I think work is my sanity saver. With the side gate, can you put something in front of it that the kids can't move or knock over? Then hopefully Wade won't be able to climb it.

Rory - the calm verses elated feeling I could so relate to when you described it in your birth story. At the time, I couldn't understand what felt different but having you describe it that way made perfect sense. It is a very different feeling, but still wonderful. Thats fantastic news that all is going well so far, and I think if you a calm about things, then everything will just fall into place. Oliver probably picks up on how relaxed your are about things. Flynn sounds like he is taking to his brotherly duties very well. LOL about you thinking about work! Your pregnancy hormones must have disappeared. Good idea having something to watch during the night, hope you don't get too addicted to ER, its one of my favourite shows and the early seasons were the best (love Sex in the City too!). Can't wait to see your xmas pics.

Jess - I write left handed but use my right hand for most other things (weirdo, I know!!!!). I saw that text on Facebook and its so weird how easy it is to read.

Nic - it is so hard to keep germs away from a new baby, I hope Ty stays "germ free". It makes me so mad about that doula! Once you have your money back, it might be quite helpful for you to put your feelings on paper and send them to her. I think she needs to understand how much she let you down and how upset you feel about the whole experience. Hopefully that will help you feel better about the situation and realise that you didn't make the mistake - she did.

Jaspen - losing posts is the pits, esp if its a long one. Catalogues around here are prized possessions!! Esp the toy ones, Chelsea cuts them up and pastes them and chooses which things she wants until I explain that she can't have everything. Marley just loves scrunching them up.

Tali - just another reason why you need to move to Melb LOL!

Worked today and it was another super busy day. Left at 2.30 to head to my meeting in town which finished about 5.30. I got home at about 7.15! I had to drop a work colleague back at work to pick up her car but the traffic was pretty bad. I was so glad the kids were still up as I hadn't seen them at all today. One downside to working. The upside was they were so happy to see me, Chelsea ran outside and nearly jumped on me, Marley just ran up to me smiling with her arms out - I just love that part. One more work day tomorrow. Chelsea has her kinder xmas party tomorrow where all the families bring a picnic for dinner and we just sit outside on our blankets, while the kids run around and have lots of fun. Santa makes an appearance and hands out a present. Its going to be a very balmy night, so should be lots of fun.

I have the whole series of both Sex & the City(season 1-6) and Friends (season 1-10) on dvd!

actually Freinds is doing the rounds atm. (b4 it just started back on telli) i start from the start (season 1) and watch an episode when i go to bed, or when i am feeding Tyron through the night (beats The mint & dam pro active crap!)

how nice is that seeing your kids get all excited when you get home! Actually mum took Nixon for me this arvo for the night and he cried when he was in the car and i waved bye bye to him :o(

Nic - how sad (but cute too!). Thats great that your mum can have him overnight, must give you a bit of a break. Babies are so much easier to look after than toddlers!

well it seems this pregnancy is not off to the breezy start I could have hoped for so am a bit emotional at the moment.

I went to docs for results this morning which started out as yeh good but then when I asked about the numbers he said well actually the HCG is nothing to worry about its all normal and won't tell us much more but the progesterone is a bit low - he then started to ask me am I feeling pregnant which I replied well nothing like my first two so now he is concerned that there is every chance I have or will miscarry as that is what low progesterone can indicate. in his words if I haven't miscarried before then he wants to do an ultrasound in 3 weeks to check for a heartbeat - doesn't want to do it any earlier cause it can still be so much touch and go as to whether you'll see anything - in case I have a missed m/c. You know how you just know when somethings not quite right well it seems I might have been right.

my hcg was 750 and progesterone 29 - I think - I was reading from a distance and over his shoulder. I'm sure it had on the form that progesterone in 1st trimester should be 30-100 but I've sinced searched on web and they have anything from 9 -90 depending on the website and some would suggest that the hcg may even be a bit low - I so don't know what to think

I'm so sad now and don't know how I"m going to wait the three weeks (especially with xmas jsut before hand) without going insane. I have so much to do and now don't want to do any of it.

Of course it's all about you, Jas - it's so allowed to be! It's pretty cruel to have you waiting all that time, particularly at this time of year. Is there just no way to check sooner? :hug:
I got a kid who refuses to go to sleep - he didn't sleep for long enough in the car and I didn't want to leave him there...so he woke up when I brought him in...

Jaspen- oh im sorry your doctors visit didnt deliver all the happy news it should. It certainly will be a hard few weeks, as Maya said can it not be sooner? I think the first scan ive seen with both Nixon & Tyron was from about 6weeks when the heart starts beating? In another week your bubs heart should start beating (i think) and maybe they could do a quick scan if he has one in his office?
Thinking of you, i really hope its all precaution but nothing to worry about.
the levels are pretty random i was worried wth Tyron that my hcg were not high enough when i first got them my gp told me they were sitting at about 3-4 weeks when i was 5-6weeks. then i did the same thing and sarched the net to find out the numbers varied so much it was inconclusive.
