Happy Birthday to all the beautiful Junie babies that I have missed- 2 Years I can't believe it.
Tali- WA isnt that bad ;) which mine is he working on? My BIL is working out of Newman doing drilling and my Dad has worked on a few of the mines over the years servcing their water treatment plants. I also wanted to say good luck with Zay, make sure the school does follow it up if they think there is a prob, schools have access to lots of great resources/ people etc. Try not to worry to much it might be something quite simple.
Amanda- Congrats on having a healthy baby boy in there, sorry to hear that you are a bit disapointed but I truly believe that everything happens for a reason and there must be a reason you are meant to be a mum to all boys.
Mel- I think that it is rude of your MIL to cut Marley's hair without your permission. I think being polite about it is the best way to go, there may be a reason behind it- why she wouldnt tell you though Im not sure.
Rory- I hope that Flynn is feeling better. Good luck with the new job.
Nic- OMG at your DH trying to be mugged that is really scary. I hope that Nixon gets over whatever is ailing him quickly, nothing worse than a sick grumpy toddler.
Dee- Good to hear from you, sounds like you are settling in well to your new life. Where abouts in Indonesia are you? Enjoy your sightseeing and getting to know your new habitat.
Ang- Great to hear from you too, glad things are going well. Tori doesnt get sharing either, she gives something to Liam and then snatches back off him 5 secons later.
Julie- Wow I cant believe you are nearly 30 weeks, OMG. How have you settled in your new area, is your carport all fixed now?
Things here are great, life is somewhat normal again and I looking forward to getting back into work a couple of days a week when a suitable position comes up. Tori is as talkative as ever, and really enjoying going to Playgroup since we started this term- she loves other kids so much. I
Liam will be 6 months on Tori's bday and is already mobile, rolling and wiggling his way around the room, he is also getting up on his hands and knees so I dont think he will be far off crawling- not a little baby anymore.
A big hello to all, I should try and get in here more often but I seem to blink and the day is gone.
-
oh yeah thats amazing they are born on the same day of the month Ali!
thats like Bath with her kids and 3's!
my kid link is that Nixon and his cousin are born 4 days apart (17th & 21st april)
Tyron and his other cousin are born 4 days apart but diff year (14th & 18th Oct)
both my boys and my sisters girls are 18months apart, couldnt have picked the dates if u tried!
Today is Lachlan's birthday (Dee78) Donna and i still havent caught up but i see her sister fairly regularly as she is with a good friend of our's. She said she is going well with the two boys too
-
Ali - If he get the job he will be working at Mt Keith but like I said we will have to pay for him to fly to Perth, Its funny I have always had a thing about going west even when he was in the defence it was the one place I didnt want to get a posting to, even though I know its not that bad I think it because it just so far from Melb, but I am hoping for now that we will be happy enough here and keep still for awhile...
for werid birth dates I am born in March Zayden is April Mayleaka is May Kailaia in June and BHL is Aug so all we need now is a July baby...
We the worst thing ever just happened to us like I had said the computer has been stuffing around sence we got here with the new wireless so BHL was on the phone to them again last night until 9pm tring to work it all out when he said he was just doing some re-booting, so when we got up this morning the whole computer had re-booted itself and had wiped the whole computer so we have lost all our photos :( I know that we had some on disk but none over the last yr so we have now just lost a whole year of photos!!!! I am so sad and cranky... I know I have a few on facebook does anyone know how I could get them off there and back on my computer?
anyway have to go food shopping...
-
Tali - SATC is definately a movie to go see with your sisters. Glad you are enjoying playgroup, they sound like a nice, welcoming group. You can always go out with them another time. At least they asked you which is good. Lets hope you can stay put in Melb for a while. That sucks about the computer. You could take it to a computer repair shop as the photos may still be on the hard drive somewhere? It's worth a try. I might need to back up mine again as I have about 6 years worth. Fingers crossed you haven't lost them.
Nic - love the FB pics. Tyron is such a chubber, love those cheeks! How freaky with the dates.
Ali - great to hear things are going well for you. Would love to see some updated pics of Liam and Tori. The haircut thing is still annoying me but I have to suck it up a bit as MIL does alot for us and I feel bad telling her off.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LACHLAN! Come and say hi soon Dee.
Well MIL did finally confess about cutting Marley's hair. She said a piece kept falling in her eyes and she banged her head. She said it was dangerous!!!! I told her I wasn't too happy about it and wish she had of at least asked me. She said she only meant to cut a small piece off and of course Marley moved and she cut too much. I just asked that next time she wants to do something like that to please ask. Had to be polite about it, she does lots for us and I didn't want her to think we aren't grateful.
We are going out for a friends birthday tonight. First dinner, then karaoke! I haven't been to karaoke for years. Will need to make sure I have some drinks before I venture up to sing. The best part is the kids are staying out tonight. Marley is going to MIL and Chelsea is going to stay with my brother and Dad. She is very excited and has already packed her little suitcase. She has included some DVD's - Pollyworld, Barbie's Princess and the Pauper and Shrek the Third. My brother is in for some interesting viewing!!! So looking forward to a sleep in tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend girls! :)
-
Mel there are some more recent pics of the kids on my face book page.
-
Good evening :) Thanks for all the birthday wishes for Niall.... and Happy Birthday for yesterday too Amanda!. We went into the city and bought some wooden Thomas The Tank Engine sets for Niall (managed to hide them under the pram until we got home with Wade's help! He took them up to the sales assistant etc). Had a little family party today because last night the boys were too tired after the city and just needed to get to bed... so the sugar fix from the cake didn't stir them up before bed too. It provided a nice focus for the day too given that we all staying indoors with colds (DH and I) and the cold wet weather. The train tracks kept the boys very occupied while we watched our beloved Doggies win (AFL). How clever of you to remember that all my kids have a 3 in their birthday Nic! You are a wizz at dates... i'm a shocker.
Happy Birthday Lachlan! :happybirthday: We miss you Dee!
Tali: I really hope you are able to retrieve those piccys! Usually when people say that that kind of thing happens to them some computer repair guy is able to find the lost files and copy them onto disk. :crossfinger: for you!
Mel: Hope you are having fun at your dinner and karaoke night!!! :D Go on! Be brave! knock 'em dead! ;)
Niall has become even more verbal lately... just in the last week... he's saying, or attempting to say sooo many new words. On the trip into the city he would say the word for everything he knew: "window" "train" "trees" "man" "lady" and he'd mimic the recorded announcement for each station... "the next station is Jolimont" = "Oh-ee-mon!" And if I didn't say it too he would say it over and over and over until I did! The other passengers probably thought I was nuts. I really felt like standing up and announcing: "If I don't repeat what he says he'll keep saying it over and over like a broken record which is guaranteed to be more annoying than me repeating the word once!!!"
Ugh... nose running like a tap... (sorry TMI) better go find a Sudafed.
-
Tali that is AWFUL about your pics - I will get my BHL to find the email address of a mob who can recover data if you like.
Gotta be real quick cause I am using DH's $hitty keyboard and I am starting work tomorrow - YAY!!! I am really looking forward to it but had lots to organise :)
Flynnie is still a bit sad and clingy but no longer coughing or super-snotty. Ollie has bronchialitis and an ear infection (typical second time mum - I didn't even notice and thought he was ok when I took him to the docs  ) but both are feeling better now. My doc was great, he didn't even prescribe antibiotics, which is unusual for a GP, I reckon.
Anyway, best go - will post about job later in week
ciao bellas :)
-
Well after yesterday not been able to get on this site at all I am glad to see it seems to working today...
Rory that would be great if you could get me that email address, I am so glad the boys are getting better... How's work ?
well not too much to talk about todays BHL has his medical today so if he passes that then hopeful he will get the job.. but it will mean that he will have to start fly in and out again but right now with him coming home only an hour before the kids go to bed and has to work on the weekends he will see them more when he has the weeks off....
-
HEY A BIG Happy Birthday to Marley, Oscar and Nathan, Yippee for you, you are now two.
Lol Bath Nathan is the same, but I get the tapping and mum, duck, mum...Duck, yes Nathan ...Duck. Lol I love this age they are so funny. Happy Buirthday for the other day Niall.
Ohhh Tali finger's crossed for you and those photos. I think that is the reason I have so many online photo album places and I love my external hard drive.....although I haven't backed up in a while....hmmmmm I think I'll do that tonight.
Hello Ali, great to here from you
Hugs and kisses to everyone
Cheers
Dee
EDIT: Yay it worked. I've been trying to write a reply for a couple of days but haven't been able to post.
Glad everyone is well, I'm on my way out for my Ladies Morning with a few girls, it's really fun. I'm loving having Sara in our home, the kids love her and she is a huge help. I still feel guilty sitting here while she cleans and looks after the younger three but I have to remember that I am paying her to do that and when I step in it is telling her I don't trust her to do it right. So I try to hold back, unless it is something that I don't like. Better go,
Happy Birthday to the Junie babies I have missed these past few days. Nathan got a tool kit, bowling ball set and a cute dump truck with big balls in it and tonight we will have a Black Forest Cake for desert.
Weather today is cold and foggy. I'll add pics to facebook later today.
-
Happy Birthday Nathan, Oscar and Marley I hope that you all have a wonderful birthday, and lots of cake ;).
Well I've just got over a stomach bug that last 3 days and had me vomitting, DH didn't really remember my birthday he thought it was the next day so I wasn't to happy, I told him next year he better make up for this year. Dinner with friends was nice tho as was the bbq the next day so that kind of made up for it.
Better go put on a load of washing.
hugs xoo

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARLEY,NATHAN,AND OSCAR:happybirthday:
I hope you all have a great day!!!!
-
Happy Birthday the 19'ers, Nathan, Marley and Oscar!!
Happy Birthday, too, to Niall, Flynn and the other birthdays I've missed for keeping my head down, bum up!
There has been a lot going on IRL and I've been very scarce on BB.
Today, Oscar is in childcare for only half the day (don't care that I have to pay the full day!) and then we'll go shopping for a drill. His trike is on its way from Sydney (eBay seller) and he got my sister's present this morning of a wooden digger (yay!) and a set of Spanish flash cards (he couldn't care less yet!). We have swimming tonight, then home for a cake of some sort. Tomorrow night dinner with my parents when they come from the country, then Sunday a very small BBQ affair (not even brigade people!!).
Today, the day he turned two, we also switched on his 'fart' humour - he now says fart in Spanish and giggles when I make a fart sound with my mouth - bliss...I think...
Gotta go again, I'm at uni. Special thoughts to those of us who have been parents for two years today (not to discriminate against those with older kids ;) ) - we've done all right, huh? Survived and everything!
-
Happy 2nd Birthday my little muchkin!!!
Happy birthday also to Oscar and Nathan - LOL Maya, the 19ers!!!
Marley is at day care today, DH dropped her off with a yummy freddo frog icecream cake!!! DH is working tonight, so Chelsea and I will be singing Happy birthday with donuts and candles!!!! Proper family party on Saturday night. Two years has certainly gone very fast.
Dee - enjoy your black forest cake, yum! Hopefully Sara understands that you haven't had to do this before and this is new to you. I'm sure you will enjoy it more as you get to know each other better. Put those feet up!!!
Amanda - DH owes you big time next and don't you let him forget it. A stomach bug, you poor thing. Glad to hear you are feeling better.
Maya - PML about the fart sounds!!! Typical male LOL!!!! Sounds like Oscar got some good pressies.
Thanks for Marley's birthday wishes. This time 2 years ago, she would have been just over 12 hours old. Boy time flies but what a wonderful time it has been. I hope she enjoys her icecream cake today at day care. DH bought some donuts for the girls tonight so we can put candles in those. I am making her a cake for Saturday but still have no idea what I am making yet??? I am just having family and one friend over for a late atea and any one who wants to stay for dinner is welcome (Thai takeaway is looking good for dinner!!). I still haven't bought anything for her birthday either, another thing that is stumping me, is that awful? Leaving early today, so better get moving.
BTW - Rory, how is the first week going?
-
Maya, my word you guys have survived and thrived!!!!! 2 years has gone by in a flash hasn't it. I look at my babies and can't believe Brianna is a young woman and I now have no babies in the house. I mean 2 is the graduation point into todlerhood isn't it!!?! It makes me feel alittle sad that Time has wooshed by so fast but I am sooooo glad that I have been lucky enough to have been home with my babies. Michael is really pushing me to have another baby, I just know that I am done, I really don't and can't go through with all of that again.
Speaking of going through it again although you are much younger then me and this is your equaliser, I can't believe you are already 23 weeks Amanda!!! Sorry to hear you have been sick, you poor bugger and your DH better pay up big next year, lol.
ohhhhhh Motherhood is calling me so I'll come back later.
I hope the 19er's (lol) had a great day.
Edit lol Mel no that's not aweful, hehehehe we only went out the night before and got the pressy's.
-
Where are we all< are we all too busy with our now 2 yr olds to chat up a storm with our buddies?
I'm sorry I have been absent my loves, but honestly I have been busy.
Up till three months ago I was President of our local P&F Association but after the election of the new office bearers everything seemed to go haywire. I was elected (unopposed) as Vice President but after a dealing that went sour with the new presidents wife I handed in my resignation.
I am busy, busy, busy with the kids and have been visiting my second client and now it looks like I may have my third client. My second client is due on the 26th July (not long to go, bub is head down and next visit the OB will confirm this by the dreaded internal!) I then think I might have a month off before the third client goes, but uncertain about her yet as even though I have known her for years, she still hasn't contacted me.
Pat is now a little man! He is still being boobyfed (only of a night time), but I have managed to try MCN's and now I'm a consultant for a major brand. He has such a sense of humour and squeals with delight if the older kids chase him round the house. He sleeps in his big boys bed that Dad made him and he absolutely loves it, sits on it as the bigger boys go in their room and chats constantly.
I think that is all for now, talk to you soon darlings and give big hugs to all our junies!
-
Just dropping in quickly, I have put some pics of Tori's Dorothy cake up in the gallery, I will be back to catch up properly later in the week.
-
Good afternoon :) just quickly too: I've been spending too much time in other threads, one of which has overwhelmed many here in our BB community (twins tragedy thread) ... and by the time I'm done there my boys are almost frantic to drag me away from here! However more than ever i'm so comforted to know that so many of us have stayed in touch over the past 2+ years. It's so good to hear even a snippet about all the June babies because we all have been reminded how badly things can go when become isolated mums :( great to hear from you again Jess! it doesn't matter how much or little we all post... even just "Hi, very busy, everythings fine, thinking of you all, been reading, can't post"
DH home... place a disaster area! better go!
-
Well it's been a long boring and testing weekend, as its been cold we haven't done much and we are paying for it the kids are climbing the walls and so are we!!! I soooo cant wait for bed time tonight!!!!
I started baking for the 1st time ever today I made some jam drops which must have been ok as there arent many left, and I have tried to make a lemon merang (sp?) pie which we will see if its any good tonight the lemon part tasted ok ( even if I did have to make it twice 1st time I used normal flour instead of corn didnt realise it would make a difference Opps) but the pastery didnt look quite right so that might be a bit yuk....
Melbourne girls are any of you going to the meet-up's that are happening there's a Melb one on the 30th at 10:30 am at the BB centre and a Berwick one on the 4th at 12pm I would love to put a link in for you but have been tring all day and just cant get it :wall:
I am hoping to go to both the Melb one I am a little afraid of as I hate to drive and park in melb ( I know its iner city burbs but still scary for me ) but was thinking of maybe catching a train if thats not to hard with all my winkys... ( just hoping I dont back out at the last min due to nerves like I normally do, would feel so much better if I knew one of the Junies were going to be there ;)
-
Ditto, Bath, about your sentiments on our little group with its changing dynamics, and also our care factor.
I do sense that as our kids get older we are spending more time with them IRL than on here, and that's a good thing! Cee Cee was exemplary in just calling it quits and making a conscious decision to eschew online life for her daughter. As much as I really admire her for it, I find I can really flesh out my ever-evolving and expanding ideas on parenthood with the girls here and that's why I can't do a cold-turkey. Not only that, I have become attached to my Junies, especially, and love the sharing we have all done.
Oscar had a marvellous birthday weekend, sans birthday party as such. We had our closest family friend family over, my parents, my BIL&SIL's family, and MIL over at various parts of yesterday and much BBQ was cooked! We had a dinner for him on Friday night with my parents, so since Thursday night he has been quite a spoilt little boy. He got TWO trikes, because my mum wanted him to have one he can actually ride before he grows into the massive one she initially gave him. We also had an issue with a chainsaw. I got him his beloved drill and he was so happy about it...until my GF came to visit on Fri with her little boy...who brought over his new toy chainsaw - WHAT drill? He only picked it up again with any affection this morning :( I foolishly told my mum about what happened to his long-awaited drill and what did she do? Went out and bought him a friggin chainsaw! I will be reiterating, at some point, that the chainsaw came from his grandma and not me! He got two Bob the Builder characters (Scoop and Roly) and a Gordon train and tender. For people who didn't have a party, he sure did get spoilt. It was just the right amount of people, so he didn't get overwhelmed by faces and presents.
He has taken to climbing into the kitchen sink when it's got dishwater in it. Luckily, I make up my own dishwashing liquid from a base shampoo (add my own essential oils like lemon and thyme), so it's not been bad for his skin! He's just so odd! His words are coming along a lot more in the last couple of weeks.
Jess - geez, you are busy! I think you're officially worse than me at taking on things! How wonderful that you have clients lined up, too :) It's a great testament to you as a person that people want you as part of their special event.
Tali - if we're not away that week, I'll be heading to the Berwick meet-up, so you'll know me there! I won't advertise my planned attendance in the thread, not only because I may not be here for it, but also because there's a couple of people going who may freak out and bail if they know I'm coming (ummm, I guess I have a strong online personality for some!), though they've never met me IRL.
I might try to get to the BB centre one, too, not sure yet what's happening during that week.
Dee - this must be a watershed time for you with Nate emerging from babyhood and your other babies emerging from childhood! Oh, and here's to guilt-free home help!
Better go and get some study done (honestly, the only time I get to write a proper message here is when I'm at uni...when I'm supposed to be studying!).
Have a great week girlies and thinking of the preggies amongst us :)
-
Just on my way to go get Wade from Kinder... incase I don't get back in here: Tali and Maya: I'm going to try to make the Melb Birth centre meetup... tali if you want to meet in the city we could trian it over together if you want... better scram!
-
Happy Birthday Tori :happybirthday:
Maya - It would be great if you do make it as I dont know any of the girls going so I am a wee bit scard As for the melb one I and craping myself over than one but like I said hoping I wont back out... But I have decided to catch the train as I know if I drove I would get to worked up before I even got there...
Maybe we could have our own Melb Junie meet up as I ahve been here over a month now and I am getting very board at home just depends if you want it in the school break or not...
well better go as I can smell a nappy Hurry up spring so I can train my lazy big girl !!!!
-
Happy Birthday Tori!!! I knew I'd forgotten an important date! Is Tori the last one for June? I hope you have a fantastic day of being very, very spoilt!!
-
Bath- That would be great I am such a wimp when it comes to theses things at least i would know someone ( even if we havent actully meet yet either )
Just let me know what time and where and me and the kidlets will be there....
-
Happy Birthday Tori! And all the other Junie babies.:)
Moved Alex to his new big bed on Friday and are having trouble keeping him in it. He just wants "mama and daddys bed". His cot has had the sides down for the past 6 months so he was able to come and go as he pleased. Now I think we have a real battle ahead to keep him in his bed. We have tried to make it fun and big emphasis that he is a big boy now, and am also lying down next to him to get him off to sleep to reassure him but its not working.
Any advice please?
-
Happy Birthday Tori!!! Hope you had a special day! :D
Ang: Have you tried one of those moving night lamps... the ones that project shadowy images onto the walls and ceiling? Little ones who are prone to getting out of bed sometimes fall asleep watching them... or even just a plug in night lite (into the socket).
Niall has forgotten that he was once able to get out of his cot! :) Maybe he was hurt too many times as he let himself drop over the side? I'm still mainly BFing him to sleep... but at night that process takes only about 5 minutes. Sometimes he only has to see "bit more" (that's what he calls BFing) for it to make him close his eyes, sigh, and fall asleep... afterwhich i just carry him into his cot.
One of Niall's annoying habits is that he constantly throws the tv remote. About 5 minutes ago he hurled it in my direction and it knocked my (luke warm) coffee mug over :( So still a fair bit of destructiveness going on here.
-
Happy Birthday Tori I hope your birthday was great and that your Dorathy cake was delish.
Got my first Ob appt tomorrow at the hospital so that will be interesting, not much else going on.
hugs xoxo
-
Happy birthday Tori and all the other Junie Babies I have missed!
I have to be quick because I am working full time now (which I am loving - I enjoy the kids more because when I see them all I do is cuddle them and read stories, and the work is great. Plus I have no guilt about the state of the house because it is "not my job" LOL!
Only bummer is I have less time for BB! But I still love reading your posts :)
ciao for now
-
Well I just had to come in here and tell you guys that BHL got a JOB
yippy it means of course that he is back to been away but as I have explained in other post thats what suits us lol
But of course is it rains it poors just when he found out that he got the WA job he also got a call from another job he went for in Qld asking him to do a medical as if he pass's they want him to work for them... Its always the way isn't he said he will go for the medical and see what happens from there... I guess it will come down to how will pay more as with both jobs he has to pay his own way to WA of Townsville ( but they are soon bring in Brisbane flights )
just had to let someone know at least it will mean we can start to save again!!!
-
That sounds like great news for you Tali :) Does this mean you won't be with us in Melbourne for long? Sorry I missed the full story...
Well my June Baby has been up to no good. This afternoon he found and ATE my chocolate!!!! There is a photo HERE. I had to laugh or else I would have cried... I've been looking forward to it all day... it was ear-marked for about 9pm tonight after the boys were in bed :( Note the flavour... no wonder it was his coughing that alerted me!
-
Happy birthday Tori (for yesterday!) Awesome job of the cake too Ali.
Jess - good to hear from you. Fantastic news about your clients, hope you continue to get many more. I don't know where you find the time.
Bath - can't see your picture, says you need password. Its intriguing me what flavour it was now!!!
Tali - how did your lemon meringue pie go? Fantastic news about the job. Nice to have a choice of two. I'm sure he'll choose the right one. I can't make it to either meet up unfortunately. I am going down to my GF's holiday house on Sunday and staying overnight and I work on Friday's. Sounds like they will be fun and hopefully you will have some Junie back up!
Amanda - good luck tomorrow, let us know it all goes.
Rory - glad you are enjoying your new job. Love the no guilt policy!!! Well done and I bet DH is doing a great job.
Ang - sorry I don't have any advice for you (wish I did!!!). I was very lazy when moving Chelsea to a bed, I left it until she was over 2 1/2 and didn't have any issues with her getting out. I think she understood a bit better. I plan to do the same thing with Marley and wait until Christmas time. Good luck with it though.
Maya - sounds like Oscar had a great birthday. Love the FB pics of him with his big trike!!! Grandparents are allowed to go overboard in the present stakes, it's their job to spoil their grandkids lol!!! The sink photos are priceless, how does he get in there?
Marley had a fun night on Saturday, we only had family over and one friend. The kids had plenty of fun and they really enjoyed my icecream echidna cake. I've put some birthday snaps on Facebook.
-
Whoops! Sorry Mel... fixed the "private" setting to "public". It should be ok now. I just saw your photo of Chelsea and Marley entitled "sisterly love!" adorable! I'll have to go back and check out more!
-
Bath- hows his Bum this morning hope it doesnt burn to much come out the other end lol but if it does maybe it will be the last time he takes mum's chocolate LOL
Nope I wont move with BHL's job he will just fly in and out of Melb the funny thing is when he got home last night he got a phone call from a guy he used to work with telling him of another job that is going in Mackay 4 days on 4 days off so he is going to go for that one too and see what happens as this one is better pay than the other two and you only work 6 mths of a year as its even time...
I feel so slack now after hearing about all the birthday partys poor little Kai didnt really get one maybe next year when she will remember it... That and I hope to know more people for her to actully have one....
Well we got a "report " for Zayden in form of a letter as he hasnt been at this school long enough and it was reallly bad!!!! I know it shouldnt come as a shock as the teacher does want him tested for ADD but he makes out Zayden is a little ***** well maybe he is in class I know he's not that bad at home or maybe he is a " Bad " kid and I just dont see it...here is a little of what the teacher has said...
Zayden has also demonstrated a tendency to disregard or challenge aurthority. He regularly breaks classroom rules and when a consequence is given he responds negatively by continuing to push boundaries, by refusing to do what he is told or by saying ' No'
Arrrrr I so dont know what to do ....
-
Tali, as frustrating as it must be for a teacher, Zayden is doing what we want him to do as an adult, and that is, not doing what other people want us to do just because they say to do it. By saying 'no', he is trying out a little power assertion of his own! I know, not helpful when you want him to go to school and be taught. There must be a way to harness his little independent spirit? I'm convinced that 'traditional' schooling techniques don't suit some kids and those kids are probably ones that would otherwise be classified as having ADD or ADHD. Montessori and Steiner systems may be better suited to him? They're not so big on having children comply with orders and teachers are more flexible with independent learning styles. Just my own thoughts on it.
It's funny, we all want our kids to grow up as adults who take sh*t from no-one, to question 'authority' and have their own opinions, yet we train them as youngsters for exactly the opposite! I often wonder if Oscar will be receiving this type of report card when he's in school...unless I can find a Montessori school for him (common as muck in Ireland and rare as hens teeth in Victoria!).
I guess a lot of us are starting to think about kinder? I haven't really been, but everyone keeps asking and I just shrug my shoulders! I mean, if I have to repeat any units then Oscar will be in uni childcare for a bit longer and they have a pre-school room there, so he can come in with me. Bit more expensive than normal kinder (though, not the kinder I would prefer to send him to), but it would suit him and save me on driving around on top of uni. There's a Montessori pre-school in Mt Evelyn and one in ****atoo, and I'm weighing up the travel costs (time, fuel and money) for both. It's too hard! Shrugging shoulders again...

Thanks Maya I know it must be hard for him always having to move so I am guess he is just trying to see how far he can push.... But like you said thats just not aloud in school they all are ment to be the same and the minute that arent doing what everyone else is they want them on meds....I always thought he was such a little follower that I am quite surprised he has some inderpendent thoughts...
As for Kindy I have filled out all Kai's paper work for Casey so I am hoping she gets the same kindy that May is at as its nice and handy for us as we get to walk there and its next to the school.. If I was you I would enrole anyway as you can always tell them no if you dont need it, but to get spots at last min is really hard... So put his name to all the kindys you are even thinking about maybe putting him in that way YOU get to chose which Kindy he goes to and not the system iykwim...

Happt beldated birthday Tori!
sorry i have been MIA the days just flash by me and i dont ever seem to get through half of what i want to.
Amanda- how did your check up go?
Bath- LOL cheeky Niall, cheeky boy
birthdays, ok get out my trusty bday book lets see!!...... Alexandra (CeeCee) i think her bday was the end of the month but not sure on dates (maybe 29th) and Lucas (Tanya) last June bub was born on the 4th of July!
About 5 nights ago i took Nixon's dummy away. he's had mixed emotions about it! we seem to have a good night, and then a not so good night. i kind of feel like a slack mum, i found them all, showed him they were going away and he kissed them bye bye. he tells ppl his "ummys went bye bye"
It helps that Ty doesnt have one so he is no longer seeing them around the house.
Got about 3 more weeks till we move and have SOOOOO much to pack..... dh hasnt packed a thing as yet, to his defence he has been doing heaps at the house there after work and on w/e's but i just cannot wait to get in i feel like i am a single mum atm.
Tali- i wish the school would just let him settle in a bit, it must be very hard for him to adjust, other kids already have their friends, their routines and Zayden is still trying to find his spot.....
kinder.... In Sydney we call it pre-school and they start when they are 3yrs. i went to one at our new local area last week and had a look and put his name down. Nixon already felt right at home and went and sat in the circle with the other kids and started singing lol!
boys are quiet, that could be anything!! better go

Thanks for the birthday wishes for Tori, she had a nice family BBQ on the weekend, but has been sick since she woke up Sunday morning- so not had such a great week. She is starting to refuse her day sleeps, but it sooooooo over tired by about 4pm that I just dont know what to do with her.
Liam is sick too with a runny nose, and I think he might have more teeth coming so not such a happy household atm.
My nephew who is 3 weeks younger than Liam got admitted to the children's hospital last night with a Staph infection, poor little man is quite sick covered in rashes and all his skin is peeling off. He will be in there untill at least the weekend and is on some pretty strong meds.
Tali- I would strongly suggest making an appointment with the schooling and going in and asking what strategies they are going to use with your DS, it is not good enough for them just to say that he is disruptive etc, without offering some ways to support him- ask if there are some skills/ strategies that you can use at home that might help him with his behaviour at school.
Kids in WA can't start kindy untill they are 4, so Tori wont be going untill 2010, which is a bit of a bummer because I think she will be more than ready to go, there are some private 3 yo kindies but she wont be able to start untill June and it is only once a week for couple of hours. I am contemplating putting her in Daycare one day a week next year because she really craves that socialisation and stimulation.
I hope everyone is keeping well, I am heading off to bed as I am totally exhausted!

Thanks Bath and Mel for the advice. So far at least he is starting the night off in his bed so that is a good sign. Half the time he climbs into our bed, in between both of us and under the sheets without us even realising until we wake up the next morning with this warm, snoring little man next to us!
Ali, hope your nephew gets better poor thing. I was also thinking about 3 yr old kindy for Alex but wonder if I can be bothered with it for only half a year. May consider daycare instead for one day next year, will see how I go.

Regarding kindy etc for our June kiddies: I have Niall on a list for our local co-op children's centre for 2009. It has daycare and pre-school options should I feel that Niall would benefit. He probably will... even just for a day each week. Hopefully by the time he is 3.5 (2010) we'll be able to afford to put him into an Early Learning Centre that offers fulltime (9am - 3pm Mon - Fri) classes for 3 - 4 year olds like Verity used to attend. THEN I might be able to consider either returning to study or work.

Kai wont start kindy until 2011 ( now doesnt that sound just so far away!!! )
Thanks all for you kind word about Zayden I know I should even be bothering you all with stuff about him as this about our junies after all and not ment to be about my "oldies"
My sister came over today for a school sports day and Kai started to call her " dumb dumb" lol as she was playing a game with kai and singing a silly tune with kind of sounded like dumb dumb so now that what kai was calling her all day I wounder if Kai will remember when we see her next...
