It's great, Nic, that all this has been identified now. Like you say, it's before school starts and you can get help with supporting his developmental needs so that isn't disadvantaged by it :) Nixon is lucky to have a mummy who's got great observational skills - how many other kids' parents just think these things are normal and never realise what's behind their kids' delayed development?
Tali - poor Kai. Take it easy on her and maybe try not to verbalise your annoyance about her toileting too much. She's most likely suffered a set back because of the move and the distress about wanting to be back in QLD, where her previous life was :) She'll get there. The more you push for what you want, instead of being patient in your manner, the more they'll resist...that's what dogs and horses have taught me LOL! You're all in a strange headspace now - you've made a huge transition!
Better go do some more housework before MIL brings Oscar back home...
-
LOL Maya you scare me at how much you read me.... You are so right I know but I still find myself getting sooo very angry at my Baby.... Poor thing friday it was ok to do wee and poo's in her pants and now because I have decided it no longer OK for her to do this anymore.... It must be the most confusing time for them one day its normal the next its not.... Like my mum told me yetserday its the 1st step a baby takes into inderpendents it the 1st thing they have to take sole responsablity for.... as it is only them who knows when they need to go.... Its also the first step we take as parents of letting our child grow up....
But I did have a small break through today after I picked up may we moved the potty into the toilet and everytime May went she would take Kai with her and Kai has now gone and done 3 wee's Yippy I hope this helps her realise what she is meant to be doing....
Nic- i know heaps of kids who have this problem most of the ones I know were heaps older too... Dont be down on yourself things will work out... if he is having problems with his tonsils and adenoids hows his hearing as I think they are all conected worth a check I guess but I am sure your doctor will let you know what you have to do next...
-
Hi girls, feels like I have been gone for ages but its only been a week!!!!! Just been super busy but thought it was about time I pop in and see what's been happening.
Nic - I totally agree with what Maya said - well done on picking it up. Doesn't matter when you did, you have now and you should be commended. Many kids make it to primary school without any of it being noticed. Like the others, I know many kids who have had their tonsils/adenoids removed and have been changed kids after it. Most of them had speech/hearing issues. All boys too.
Rory - glad to hear things are getting better for DH. Good luck for his jumpstart on Wednesday.
Tali - I can imagine all these cars passing your sister with all that in the car LOL!!! Still not sure about TTC. The fact that I am still thinking about it means I probably will ;)
Maya - was up your way on Sunday and had lunch in Olinda at Immerse. Have you been there? Fantastic place, beautiful food and great staff. I am going to take DH up there for dinner one night. Definitely worth a trip.
TT is a bit haphazard in our house. If Marley asks, then I put her on the toilet. She loves sitting on it and playing, singing etc but she will spend forever in there. Chelsea actually sat in there the other day and read her some books!!!! It looked hilarious. Chelsea loves helping her get her nappy off etc. I took a couple of photos this week, so will put them on FB when I remember. I am not too fussed about it yet, I would rather wait and push it more when the weather is better. I will just let her guide me, but knickers can wait for a while.
If I do decide to have another baby, Marley will be such a mother hen. She has taken a real obsession with her baby doll and wraps it up, rocks it, puts it over her shoulder and pats it!!!! Not sure where she picked that up from as I don't have any friends with young babies. She might be a natural - its so cute to watch.
A big woo-hoo for me - I GOT TICKETS TO WICKED  I was going to get them a few weeks ago but decided to wait and I am so glad I did. They released new tickets and I got great seats. Our wedding anniversary is on 14th October and I got tickets for 15th which is a suprise for DH. He really wants to go to, hopefully he doesn't have the same idea as me LOL!!!
Lunchtime - YIPEE! Better go
-
Nic I don't know if you remember all the hassels I had about 2 and bit years ago, with Kailen's hearing and getting someone to listen to me and he paid the price of them not listen to mother's intuition. He had to get grommets and his adenoids out, and his hearing is great now, but he is behind in his english and mathematics because he couldn't always hear what was been said and for a long while he couldn't distigish between b's and v's. So I believe that you have done a great job in picking up on Nixon's problem and getting it fixed, your a wonderful mum.
Tali I wouldn't be rushing Kai, she will be ready when she's ready, I think with Wyatt, we didn't get him TT until 2-3 weeks before his 3rd birthday. Cody does tell me when his nappy is off that he needs to wee so that's a big step for us, but I don't think I will do much until after it warms a bit and after bub is born.
Mel yay for getting your tickets, I hope that you both have a wonderful night, not long now.
Hi Maya, Bath and Rory.
Sorry it's been so long between posts, but I've been feeling so over this pg and it's not how I want to feel been my last pg and all, I just want to enjoy it all, but I've got really bad hip and leg pain it's just not funny. Well only about 44 days to go, my BP has been behaving itself so far so I'm happy with that.
It was Kailen's 8th birthday yesterday and he had a great day I think, we're having a family BBQ on the weekend and will be doing a nice cake for him then. We got him a Ben 10 watch and figurine and he loved them, he got to choose what he wanted for dinner and he wanted his daddy's meatballs and spaghetti so that was great, I just made him a marble cake for dessert as well.
hugs xoxo

Hi lovely Junies
one day i will get time to get on here and do a post!
just a quick one to say all going well here - Isla is fantastic, she is feeding and sleeping really well - usually only have to get up to her only once in the night! I'm sure that will change! The bf is going great - she is such a natural and no spewing which is fab after having Will as a reflux baby! The boys love her to bits and keep kissing and trying to cuddle her - only annoying when she's asleep!
Amanda - wow only 6 weeks to go - i know what you mean about wanting to enjoy it being your last but being totally over it!
Got to go - promise to be back soon and catch up with where you are all at.
take care
Julie x
-
Hey Julie, Isla is gorgeous! And Amanda, long time so see! Hello EVERYONE, in fact :)
DH is feeling better - his heart-jump start worked well but now he is on all sorts of drugs for the time being so life isn't quite normal yet. Though I thank my lucky stars it wasn't anything more serious.
better go - very late and I am busy at work ATM
ciao bellas
-
great to hear from you Julie! thats fantastic that bf is going well and only waking once a night already!
amanda- yeah i do remember when u went through that and getting grommets, now the more i know the more i am assoc with some of his behavioural things. he so often wakes cranky and takes a good 45 to an hr to come good. Today he went to sleep at 2pm i had to wake him at 5pm. he absolutley screamed the house down for 45min and was even slapping himself in the face??? its hard not to get frustrated with him but now i know there may be reasons for some of it i am trying to accomodate.
im so physically exhaused atm had some blood tests but nothing come up. i have no motivation, i cant even pull myself to do general house work. then it comes to night and i cannot sleep. this mummy business is very draining some days!
-
Hi girls... I'm still alive. Family well. Thanks for the message Maya  and hello to everyone :grouphug:
Julie: Good to hear that Isla is doing so well :) I'll upgrade your avvy soon.
Nic: I know a little of how you are feeling darl (on the lack-of-motivation front) you're not alone. Keep debriefing in BB about it.... it might help
-
Nic  I know how you feel your right this mummy stuff isnt as easy as people sometimes think.... I have many moments of feeling down and have the cant be bothered feelings i hope you start to feeling like your normal self soon....
Julie so glad BF is going so well... Dont you just love 3rd babies they seem to just fit into the family so nicely...
Rory good to hear that DH is on the mend  still cant believe you have been so carm about it all....
Amanda I hope you start to feel a bit better coming into the home run  Its hard when all you want to do is enjoy the last PG and all you get in return is pain....
Mel you will have to let me know how wicked is I would love to go and see it.... But BHL isnt into muscial theater...
Hello to Maya Bath jaspen and jess where ever you may be....
Well things here are going along nicely, TT is going really well she is now wearing her undies all day and we have been doing really well... She even went to my parents house yesterday ( 1.5 hr drive away ) without one mistake.... So proud of my baby girl... Not that she is a baby anymore :( She even had a dry nappy last night!!!
Well BHL is tring to reneg on our agreement on having another baby seems to think the 3 we have is enough, some days I too feel like I am done ( not that I would EVER tell him this ) but other day the feeling of wanting another is just so strong I know I am not done... So hard to know what to do.... Sometime think I might write into Ann ann ( in womans day mag ) and see what she see's for us LOL not that you can live your life by what those people say....
Well there was a HUGE work place accadent at BHL's work the day before he had to fly home.... The guy got crushed by a ton of chain, lost part of his scull and broke all his ribs which went through his lung, from what we heared he was it intecive care and doing ok.... BHL was ment to be down there helping out when it happened but he was talking to the kids Thank GOD but his best mate was the 1st one there and had to hold the guys head together until the medics arrived....Just scary as it really brings it home how short life is, and how quickly it can be taken away....
-
HI all, just checking in- Things here are as hectic as ever, but doing ok. Starting to get settled into a routine of work/mummy stuff/ me time/ house work etc.
Kids are doing well, Liam is finally starting to sleep through the night (woohoo) and Tori is as much a rascal as ever, she was busy smearing Yoghurt all over the table the other day, and DH said to her if you dont stop that I will take it away, and she looked him in the eyes and said "no way man, I dont think so!" I couldn't help myself I was in fits of laughter.
Glad to see that everyone else is going well!
-
Amanda - the countdown is on! I hope you find time to enjoy your last pregnancy but I can only imagine how hard that must be. Sounds like Kailen had a lovely birthday.
Julie - great to hear things are going so well. It seems so true what lots of mum's say, the third baby just fits right in. Still not sure if I am going to test that theory out LOL!!
Rory - great news on DH. I hope the medication keeps doing its job.
Nic - chin up babe! My saying is keep smiling, always makes the day seem better. Maybe a dose of vitamins might give you the "pick me up" you need?
Tali - Kai is doing so well on the TT front, what a great achievement going all that way with no accidents. Will let you know how Wicked is and hopefully you can convince DH to go. My DH loves the theatre and is usually the one buying the tickets, this time its my turn to surprise him. We are the reverse here, DH really would love another baby and I'm still not sure. I need to make a decision by the end of the year, can't keep this lingering as it will drive me crazy! How scary for that poor worker, both the one injured and the one who stayed with him. Hope he is OK. Thankfully DH wasn't down there at the time, the kids phone call came at the right time.
Ali - good to hear from you. Sounds like things are going really well for you and the family. Great news that Liam is sleeping through, must make a big difference. Tori sounds so funny!!! I would have been laughing at that comment too!!!
Just been out for lunch with some GF's and Marley had a great time playing, mainly on her own. She is happy to amuse herself which is good. She is becoming obsessed with The Wiggles. She has never been a child who watches much TV, ABC kids is always on in the morning but she isn't keen to watch it. All of a sudden, she keeps asking for Wiggles and I have a few old DVD's that Chelsea used to watch and she will happily watch all of that then get upset when its finished. I have no idea what has sparked her fascination.
Hi to everyone and hope your all happy and well. :)
-
I'm going to add to the flurry of posts today!
Tali - good one for Kai and keeping her undies dry! Oscar had about 3 accidents yesterday - all at home, which was unusual, but that's ok. Today he's been really good with it, so it all balances out. Glad BHL was talking to the kids and being an attentive family man!
Mel - Oscar is loving the Wiggles, too! Not as much as Bob and Choo Choo (Thomas), but he hears music and calls it 'Wiggles', runs around in circles yelling out 'Wiggles'. From a boy who went from no interest in TV, to wanting to watch Bob (all the time!), he's now a bit happier to diversify and gets very excited about Wiggles. I also borrowed a few Skippy DVD's a little while back from the local library, which he loved, so that's entered the vocab, too!
Bath - I've been thinking of you, was great talking to you. Verity's boyfriend sounds like a nice introduction to the world of romance! And to think that I wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend till I was in uni (and by then I had no idea how to flirt so never had one till I was in my 20's anyway!), cos my parents thought if they let me off 'the chain' I'd turn into a teenage sex machine...I propose that there was a bit of projection going on there. Not only that, being so strict on such things, espousing abstinence and withholding information about sex is very counterproductive...I'm a perfect example of that! You are handling the situation nicely - no wonder Verity has a good head on her shoulders, despite her teenager moments :)
Ali - great that things are settling down for you. I can't help thinking "Kids say the darndest things" when it comes to these kidlets. Very funny response to being told what to do! The other day in Aldi, Oscar was in the trolley and a man walked past us, coughing. When I was sick and coughing my guts up, he'd come into the bathroom, or poke his head around the corner with his head ****ed to one side and ask "you ok, mummy?"...it just about killed me every time he did it, and I'd say "yep, mummy ok, thanks Oscar". So, at Aldi, the man walks past coughing and Oscar turns around, ****s his head to one side and (you guessed it), asks "are you ok...hombre?" I fell over laughing and praising him because not only did he extend his concern to a total stranger, but he used the Spanish word for 'man' for good measure! The man didn't even notice, but it made my day, it was the sweetest thing. Anyway, the things they come out with as they are consolidating language skills will forever have me mystified!
Nic - I hope you are closer to finding your mojo. Perhaps Chinese medicine or acupuncture could help if traditional avenues give no joy?
I spent the morning with Oscar today and we got out the door really late to get to Spanish speaking playgroup. So, we missed the train, waited for the next one, caught it to the suburb it's in, walked about 10 mins to get there, stayed for about 40 mins (too late to catch the treasurer who takes the membership monies, as I'd already had my first free session about 4 weeks ago), walked back to the station, missed the train, bought a coffee, caught the next train back and dropped him off at MIL's. Kid loves his trains!! He was chatting the whole time and then wanted to play on the train tracks...ummm, no. We waved the drivers goodbye and they waved back - I guess they don't see a lot of appreciation day to day!
Anyway, I think I really need to start journalling Oscar's days so that I don't forget the cute and clever things he does, for posterity.
Gotta go, DP's back and I must be seen to be productive!
-
Hi all, I'm getting there, not long to go and I'm counting the days, lol that's when you know that you've had enough.
Kailen's birthday cake is in my photo gallery as well as a newer pic of my belly, which has dropped heaps, I've started get some of the mothers from mother's group taking a poll on how early I'll go, but I really don't think that I'm going to go early, I haven't yet.
Cody's got really bad excema on his chest and I've been using the cortisone cream, but it's not really going so might go back and see what they say.
hugs xoxo
-
Hey Amanda, how you doing? your at about the gest when u started getting PE with Cody are you? is it staying at this time, hope so.
Had Nixon's specialist appoint thismorning and he definatley has sleep apnea. We have booked in for his surgery to have tonsils and adenoids out on the 15th October.
we need to do a hearing test on the 25th sept and this will determine whether grommets get put in at the same time.
hope everyone is well.
BTW for those who know Rac's she is currently still baking at 31weeks! (thats already 4 weeks further than when Ronan was born) so she is doing really well.
-
I didn't realise how long it had been since I last posted - bit slack of me!!!
Maya - Skippy LOL!!!! I bet watching it now you can laugh at how badly they positioned Skippy's paws. I used to love watching it and wanted to grow up in a national park. Maybe Marley and Oscar need a Wiggles day!!!
Amanda - how is Cody's ezcema? Are you using Elecon? I am now getting the generic version which is so much cheaper. Hope it clears up for him, maybe the strength isn't enough to clear it? The cake looks fantastic but then again all your cakes look good. You belly looks so nice and neat!!
Nic - at least you know whats going on with Nixon now and the surgery will fix it all up and he can catch up on getting some better nights sleep. You'll probably notice a big difference in him afterwards.
Had lots of birthday parties on with Chelsea's school friends which have been taking up lots of the weekend. I have been starting to investigate ideas for her birthday in January and found this place that does circus parties where the kids learn trapeze, tightrope and other circus tricks. Sounds really good and you can go down and have a look and see them in action. They also run the program at schools.
Marley is still being her mischevious self (but I wouldn't want it any other way!). She is one funny, crazy child and is always making me laugh. She is now giving me "squeezes" where she wraps her arms so tight around my neck she almost chokes me, then kisses me and say "ruv you" :) She is such a dag. She is loving Mini Maestros with all that singing and dancing, her favourite things.
Hope everyone else and their beautiful bubba's are well. Better get back to work
-
Good afternoon girls... witching hour here now so just another quickie:
Maya: That is so cute Oscar speaking Spanish to that fellow!!! I can just imagine it! Well done on giving him the opportunity to learn another language at what many people would consider a very early age... it really does stick! Niall occassionally breaks into French and sings a few songs in French. I have a CD player set up near his change table and every morning after his shower he demands to hear this French CD... if I don't turn it on he yells at me: "TEACH YOUR BABY FRENCH!!!" (The name of the CD). It is sooo funny... makes me cave in every time  Also thanks for the much needed chat last week. Yes Verity has made a good choice boyfriend-wise. I'm so protective of him too. He was basically abandoned by his parents when he was 3 months old... his paternal grandparents have raised him (he is 13, same age as Verity). DH and I got wind that he was being cyber-bullied a few months ago and we leapt to his defence... his grandparents are in their 70's and don't have a clue about the internet.
Niall has gotten into the fridge and is sucking soya sauce fishes... yucko! betta go! Back soon.
-
Any time, Bath - was particularly thinking of you in the last week and a bit. Well, you're not going to forget to get into French mode as long as Niall knows what he wants!! How funny and cute! I caught up with my long-lost friend today and we got talking about our second languages, saying what a shame it is in the people we know who weren't taught their parents' languages - it's this great, invaluable resource that doesn't get shared. I can see how it would happen to people my age and their parents - assimilation pressue meant that a lot of migrants thought they'd disadvantage their children by 'hanging onto' the originating culture and language. Oh, how that's not so!!
Mel - your post reminded me of the new fairy shop up here, and I only had time to PM you quickly and without full sentences, sorry! I can just see Miss M getting away with murder for being cute when she's being treacherous!
Took Oscar to the city today by train to catch up with my great friend from the past (don't want to let go of her ever again!) and he wasn't 100%, so he fell asleep in the end and was asleep for about 2 and a half hours. On the way back he wanted to get off at every station, saying "Oscar's turn"!! As well as saying "Chao, hombre" when people got off the train. I can't believe how chatty he has become, it's such a burst of language expression that I'm thinking my reading him poetry as a newborn may be paying dividends!
Have to rush away again, going to visit a new baby :) Does anyone remember my experience over New Years' where DP left me in the lurch to pick up my own pieces after being told to leave by our friends' wife who became paranoid? Well, it's her and her baby. Here's me doing my usual thing of hoping the friendship is still salvagable...and hoping in our case babies really can be healing...I'm such a pathetic optimist sometimes...
-
yes i do remember that incident Maya, hope its not another repeat performance of that day!let us know, maybe she will change her ways after having a bub of her own.........here's hoping!
your being super nice though to still go visit her, a lot of other ppl wouldnt bother so good on you
-
Hi girls, I can't believe how long its been since the last post! I remember when it used to fly thick and fast. We all must be alot busier now.
Chelsea lost her first tooth yesterday. It was all very exciting. It has been lose for a while but very wobbly yesterday and I think she swallowed it while eating strawberries!!! She came over to talk to me and I noticed it gone. She was worried that the tooth fairy might not come if there was no tooth...thankfully the tooth fairy was clever enough to know and leave her $1 under her pillow ;)
Marley had photos taken at creche a few weeks ago and we got the proofs back last week. They are fantastic, he really did a great job of capturing her personality.
We are off the Melbourne Show on Saturday. Hoping it might be a little quieter being grand final day (fingers crossed!!!). Weather is not looking too good but I hear there is plenty to see and do undercover.
On a BOO HOO front. I opened the mail yesterday to discover not one but TWO speeding fines! Both for me and on the same day making me $282 poorer. I have been driving for 16 years and never had one fine, but this certainly makes up for it. Both were only a little over (5-6 kms) but speeding all the same.
Maya - thanks for the details on the fairy shop, will definitely head up and have a look. How did the visit with your friend go?
-
oh no Mel @ fines on the same day thats unlucky!! do you think you could write a letter, maybe get out of one?????
i got a fine in melb and had never had a fine before (not in VIC anyway!!) and got off it, but any after the first they wouldnt.
AMANDA- how are you??? where are you???? only a few weeks left!!
friends of ours (my boys godfather) had a little baby boy yesterday, named him Chase! cant wait to meet him and we have Nixon's hearing test at the same hospital tomorrow so might get to pop in.
Our BOO HOO- seen accountant today re 07/08 tax and have to pay back family assistance plus interest from the deposit money we had when we sold our house in melb...not happy cause numerous times i questioned the payments we were getting but they just kept saying we were entitled,
-
Good afternoon girls... got a headcold here (the boys have as well) but otherwise all is fine. Lovely day for drying nappies! I've started to use fabric ones again now that there seems to be enough of a chance of getting them dry without the house looking like a Chinese laundry.
Mel: Oh poor Chelsea losing her tooth! My boys have been into the strawberries too lately... no chance of using them for cooking (I wanted to make a flan) they are gone before I can blink. Eeek at the speeding fines!!! DH copped two in a row once... up in Brisbane... we were on holidays and borrowing my mother's car (she was very unimpressed) but they were all around 5-6km over too.... and it seemed like up there they actually "trick" you by having about 20 speed zone changes within about 20kms! It was ridiculous!!! DH didn't bother appealing ... he acknowledged that he probably was actually speeding and we didn't want to complicate things for mum. But you have my sympathies!
Nic: I just re-sent Astrolady your avvy.... I didn't hear from her but she has it now... hopefully she will upload it soon!
Hello to everyone :hello: my boys are constantly in the 'fridge... better get them out... they eat allll day... doesn't matter if I give them a big breakie.... they just keep asking for snacks all day... driving me nuts but I guess i can't complain... i'm a grazer too.
-
I'm still here, still plodding along. My BP is behaving itself this time around and I've started taking RLT this time to hopefully tone my uterus a bit as it always needs the midwife to push on it to help stem the bleeding. Also very tired and boys started school holidays this week so even more tired as I can't have as much rest. But on the upside my mum has come down for a week to help with the boys, so they are enjoying having her here.
Mel wow Chelsea is getting big, it's always a sign when they start to lose their teeth.
Nic I hope that Nixon's hearing test goes well tomorrow and yay on the arrival of your friends baby boy.
hugs xoxo
-
Amanda - school holidays must be a nightmare for you at the moment. Definitely no rest you poor thing. Great news with your BP. Enjoy having your mum to help out, maybe take yourself off and do something nice for you?
Bath - strawberries never last long in my house and thankfully they have been cheap and I've been stocking up! I go through a punnet or more a day. I go to the cupboards more than the fridge (no chocolate in the fridge LOL!) and Marley cannot open the fridge, yet. I can't believe how much food I have been going through since Chelsea has been on holidays. She wants to eat all the time. Thanks for the speeding sympathy, still getting over how much I have to pay ARGGGGHHH!
Nic - I thought about trying to get off but the chances might be slim with 2 of them :(
You can usually get off if you haven't had one before. Maybe I should ask DH to take one, and I write to get off the other? How did Nixon's hearing test go? Congrats to your friend on baby Chase (cute name). That does suck about having to pay back money, they always seem to stuff things up. They gave my GF over $7,000 in payments and she earns too much to get any payments. She rang them and they said, oh well just wait and see if we chase it up????? They are such twits sometimes.
How is everyone else?
I am a bit disappointed with the weather today, where is the sunshine and 25? Was hanging my washing out at 6am this morning and it better not rain later today.
DH has been away with work since Wednesday and I must say that I have actually enjoyed the quietness and how clean my house has stayed. He comes back tonight so no doubt the mess will follow. Chelsea can't wait for him to come back.
School holidays are going well so far, with one week down already. Chelsea is at my GF's today so I am sure she is having fun. Marley is still cheeky but her carers at day care just adore her nature and so do I.
We go down to an Indian restaurant every second Friday for lunch, and its time to go - YUM!
Have a good weekend everyone.
-
Oh I'm just posting for a bit of a whinge... as well as constantly being in the 'fridge my boys are constantly trying to escape!!! No matter how many times i try to tell Wade not to open the front door he still does... and then sure enough i find both him and Niall flying down the street on their scooter cars or running :wall: It's getting beyond a joke!!! And when they aren't out the front they are squeezing through the old decrepit fence palings... I am constantly finding Niall NEXT DOOR!!!! Good grief. I reckon it's because there's two of them!!! They are egging each other on to be naughty and naughtier!!! Either they are committing crime together or they are fighting these days.... one or the other! I swear a single child doesn't get up tp this much mischief!
So I have booked them BOTH into childcare!!!
Well... for half a day.... next Monday. I can't wait!
"where are they now???"
Amanda:  rest up as much as you can darl.
-
well nixon's appoint went well yest all up we were there for 2hrs so i had plenty of toys to keep him entertained and he PASSED his hearing test! but doc hasnt ruled out grommets as he still has fluid on his ears. he will look in his ears on op day, if there is fluid he will make a small incision, if its watery he will just drain. if its thick and gluey he will drain and then insert grommets so wont know till he comes out of it on the day.
oh no Bath is this what i have coming up my boys doing the escaping.... i have just recently started locking the front door cause if Nixon wants to he can open it now, also to my dissapointment my almost 4yr old neice showed me how she can open the bathroom door if she needs to go to the toilet(only have it shut cause Tyron is obsessed with the bathroom) but the handles are really high so thought its great for kids not to open and shut things!
yay on hitting 37weeks Amanda! it would be very exhausing with all the boys home, hope your mum helps heaps so u can get some rest
-
Well as its school hols have been at my parents place for awhile which was great to be able to take the kids to the beach every day the loved it.... Takes a bit of :juggling: to be able to get on here ATM...
Well we went to the show and had a great time we went with my Brother and his Girls it was so good to see the cousin all get along so well and keep each other entertained... we were there for 6 hours and all but an hour Kai walked dont know how her poor little legs did it, but she just wouldnt sit in her pram, has to be a big girl just like the others... I have put some photos on FB...
Well Kai is no longer a baby :( as she is in Knickers all the time now... Only has Nappies at night and most the time they are dry in the morning aswell.... Even at the show she told me she wanted to wee... I am so proud of her but all so a bit sad to know that my baby is growing into a young girl so fast....

Tali - was wondering where you got to!!! Glad you are having fun down the beach, nice weather today for the beach. You did so well at the show..6hrs! We went on Grand Final day and it was great, not too busy. We did 3 hours and that was plenty. It was pretty hot that day and I think the kids were stuffed after walking around. How good was the animal nursery? The old one was awful and really packed, you could never get near anything. Marley stayed in her pram for most of it, only got out for a ride on the gorgeous old carousel, which I loved going on too!! I saw your pics, they looked so good, esp the ones from the big ferris wheel. Chelsea was too scared to go on it. We stuck to our limit of 2 showbags and she was extremely happy with her Barbie Diamond Castle one! You are doing an awesome job with the TT for Kai. She has obviously picked it up well and understands it. Marley still sits on the toilet but no action yet. I have no doubt you will look gorgeous in anything for the wedding, you have such a great figure.
Bath - haven't had any experience with escaping kids. Could you ask the landlord about getting a new fence? I usually lock the front door and take the key out, just in case. Marley definitely can't reach it but Chelsea could. Must be a mad panic when they get out. How did childcare go for them on Monday? Hope you made the most of the some relaxing "me" time and didn't touch any housework.
Nic - thats great news about the hearing test. When is his op, soon isn't it?
How is everyone else going?
Finally the sun looks like it is making an appearance, hope it stays out for the rest of the day.
I had a gushing proud mummy moment this morning - I dropped Marley off at day care and when I was ready to leave I gave her a kiss and cuddle then the carer took her. The carer said "what do you say to Mummy" meaning say goodbye and Marley says "love you"! It sounded so gorgeous and she had the biggest smile on her face. I got in the car and drove to work with the biggest smile on MY face! :loveshower:
Have a great day.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE the 'I love you'! Does it get any better than that? Oscar's starting to say 'delicious' because I ask for kisses then I'll say 'I love you', then he'll say 'I love you more' (copying something I said to him ages ago!) and I gush about how delicious he is. Marley is delicious too!
I went in to check on the enchanted Waterfall Garden, Mel and it's so awesome that I just want to be a kid again to have a party in there for ME! Worth checking it out because it's a great potential party venue. Average cost, apparently, is just under $300 for up to 12 kids (I think), with loot bags, fairy bread (what else?) and a bit of party food, pressie for birthday child, cake, prizes for each child, invites stationery, and the actor who plays the fairy for an hour and a half. I think that's pretty reasonable, myself, but I've not got any other exposure to party costs for kids!
Tali - well done on making it to the show! My sister and I decided not to go because of the cost involved to have two very young children last a couple of hours before crashing! Next year Oscar might have better stamina. We went to the Doveton show instead and he lasted two hours and fell asleep by the time we left the carpark. Also, we'll be doing the Lilydale agi show for the animals - I'll know at least one exhibitor, so that's far more reasonable for Osc to endure. Still, can't wait to take him to the show! Kai IS a big girl for being in undies now! And at night, too, that's awesome!
Oscar is pretty much in undies except for night, because he's still feeding at night. He now has his own bed. We bought a futon mattress for him and he took to it quite well. So now he invites me in at bedtime to snuggle and feed to sleep and we can leave him there. Then, he was getting out at about 1-2am and coming in with me. Except last night he finally woke at 4.20am and just as well because my left boob was getting to the firm stage of things! I really don't want him to sleep the whole night in his room (which till now was just his play room), but if it's what he's happy to do, then so be it. I wish I had longer to snuggle to him overnight, he seems determined to march on ahead into childhood without me!!
Bath - how frustrating about the kids getting out!! I agree, it must be the partnership between the two. Oscar will get out of the side gate if he really wants to (bugger climbs up the bit beside the gate to unlatch it!) but mostly is happy to potter in the backyard. We have had no more episodes of finding him going up the road since last year. He doesn't like to be far away from us now, too, so that's helping keep him close by! I, too, would love to know how you went with childcare :)
Better go, have to get some semblance of study done before I collect Oscar and see my sister and niece. Today is our last day with them before she heads off early tomorrow morning. They have been the best ever together - they're both old enough to enjoy playing together, even though they are both getting possessive over toys, and they are fixtures in each others' minds (keep asking for the other when separated etc). It will be even harder to tell him that she's gone this time, and it was only about 8 weeks since the last visit! I'm getting keener than ever to make it over there for about 10 days in November after exams...

Well it's decide we are on the move again back to QLD this time mooloolaba area ( the sunshine coast ) we will be moving back in Jan as BHL job is going even time so a week away a week home which is great that we will get to have hime home with us more.... But a sad to be leaving Family the soul reason for moving here is the 1st place....
We will head off after my sister wedding and will have to fly down for my other sisters wedding in March.... Mum and Dad are not happy but understand its what we have to do for our family and will try to come up each year, but we will still try to come down each yr for summer...
I have put some photos of me in the bridesmaids dress I will be wearing to my sisters wedding on FB and one in the gallery, I was very brave and managed to drive all the way to her house with out freaking out even when out of nowhere near stud rd on ramp the traffic came to a holt and was bumper to bumper for 10 mins and then disapeared again so werid its like it apears out of nowhere and goes just as quickly...
Anyway I hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed yesterdays sunshine as we have lost uit again today in Melb cant believe it was hailing here today, talk about a wintery day in spring time but the rain has been very need down here so cant complain...
-
Maya - the Waterfall Garden sounds perfect. I am definitely going to check it out and I will let you know when I go up. I think $300 is very good for all that. How gorgeous that you get invited to share the bed with Oscar..so cute! But at least he knows he can sneak back into your bed.
Tali - wow on the move again. Your mum and dad must be a bit sad but will understand why you are doing it. I am sure the kids will enjoy being back up in the sunshine. No more hail!!! The Monash freeway is a nightmare due to the road works to widen it. You did an awesome job driving to Glen Iris as the roads leading there are pretty chaotic. The hail yesterday was awful and the cold. I might pack my bags and follow you ;)
I am so looking forward to this weekend, lots of sunshine  Well I hope so anyway.
Chelsea went back to school yesterday and couldn't wait. I think its great that she is so excited to be going to school (give her another 10 years and she will probably change her mind). Marley has started to become the climbing dare devil. We went to the local school playground on Sunday and they have lots of climbing things around. I was helping Chelsea onto the equipment and heard "hello mummy", looked around and Marley was probably about 5 foot off the ground at the top of this thing!!!! And she got up there so quickly. It wasn't an easy thing to climb with irregular footholds but she managed. She was waving when I looked around and I was trying not to look too freaked out. Chelsea looked over and told me that she would never climb up that, "its too high"!!!
My best friend from Brisbane is coming down in late October which I am very excited about. I am taking the week off work and have to start planning some activities to do. She has a DD 6 weeks younger than Marley so they will have plenty of fun.
Hi to everyone else, hope you and your bubba's are happy and well.

Nic: Good to see your new avvy finally up! I've been scarce in BB lately (mainly just flying visits) and need to catch up on a few avvy updates too... Jules: I haven't forgotten you!!! Mel: thanks for your comment in my gallery... that rainbow vest of Niall's has been worn by all my kids now... an old favourite that I will be sad to pack away... some clothes are like that aren't they? Rory: I've been thinking of your DH and his condition, hope everything has eased for him now. Maya: I think of your sig quote "procrastinating lactivist" daily LOL my weaning process with Niall is going veeeeery slowly. Posted a piccy of him having a feed last night in my gallery... everytime I feed him now (I only feed if he asks in a very definite manner!) I wonder if it's going to be the last time I ever BF... *wimper*. Tali: I thought of you during our 30'C Sunday! LOL hope you were a bit more comfy! Don't worry about the World Financial Crisis darl ;) Everything will be fine... everything for a reason I guess.
Is any other Junie coming along to the Pregnancy, Baby and Child Expo this weekend??? (I am!) Free tickets seem to be available (I got mine from PlayGroup)... there's an Expo thread in the Meetup section of BB. I've been the last 2 years and it's been worthwhile.
ETA: just sent in your updated avvy Julie... bye bye preggy bump... hello Isla!

How fast has the year gone cant believe he is 1 already.....
Best of luck :goodluck: tomorrow with the Op I will have you all in my thoughts
Hello to everyone else
Well same old same old here I am starting to feel like this is all I every write...
BHL got the cranks with his boss last night and asked a pay rise LOL want have much chance of that with current price for zinc but you never know, he has just gotten sick of everyone asking him for help all the time as he is the only one how knows what he is doing ( as he is a perfectionest so has to know how everything works ) but they are all getting $15000 more than he is getting but they dont know what they are doing and ask him all the time, as they all know that he cant stand it been done wrong...LOL he would truly be a horid person to work with.... But the boss did say he would talk to the people higher up and see what they can do as they know he works bloody hard, and meny of them dont....
I am still worried about whats happening around the world mainly as I worry about BHL job as they start to cut back on people... Plus we have to move again so it will mean what little we have managed to save ( which is next to nothing ) will once again be taken away with the move.... I am starting to think we will never buy a house of our own and that we are desended to rent for the rest of our lives... I just hope the next house we rent the owners arnt having any money worries and wont have to sell... as I am sooooo over moving.... would like to stay in the house until we can buy our own when ever that may be...

Happy 1st Birthday Tyron!! :happybirthday:
Nic - Good luck with Nixon's op tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you and I'm sure it will all go well. You did an awesome job of the cake, I bet that icing stained lots of things!!! Of forgot to say your new av looks fantastic.
Bath - sorry to hear about your loss but what a lovely necklace Hoobley made for you. Extremely thoughtful. BB has such lovely people on it. Bugger about the childcare, I'm sure you'll get there soon and with no snotty noses. The vest is so cool - I can't believe it has lasted through all your kids and still looks good. I hate packing things away, esp the kids things. Frame it with a picture of each child with it on!!! Love Nic's av, great work! Can't make the expo, I've never been but always wanted to. Kids parties are ruling my weekends at the moment.
Tali - glad I am not the only one with a dare devil!!! I think we should get them together again before you leave. Could be chaos!!! That's not really fair that DH does the same work, if not more and doesn't get paid for it. How does that work??? Hope he gets the extra money as it seems he deserves it. Don't worry hun, I'm sure your dream house is not far away. You've got a dream to work towards and I'm sure you guys will get it. Good things happen to good people.
I got a lovely surprise at work today - flowers from my DH!!!
Today is our 13th wedding anniversary and it has been so long since DH has sent me flowers. And not just any flowers, a HUGE pink basket filled with pink and purple flowers. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME :loveshower:
Tomorrow we are seeing Wicked which I am so excited about. I bought the tickets as a present for DH. We are also going into the city early for dinner so should be a fantastic night.
Hi to you all - wonder how Amanda is going. Not long to go now.
-
Good afternoon Junies :) happy anniversary Mel! :cheer:
Well DH and I are in a bit of a snoot with each other. He's getting all jittery about finances (macro and micro) and he said we may have to enroll Verity in a public school... I said "Noooo", we've only got 4 more years to go (out of 14 years in her school life, including the fees we paid for her pre-school) and I'll be damned if we are going to start compromising now! The public highschool here is awful. The kids that go there harass the Girls' school students and verity gets taunted and yelled at at the train station by disgusting youth who have a fag in one hand and grafitti paint stains on the other (they are the ones defacing the station... Verity actually called CrimeStoppers on them once and now she has a reputation as a snitch.... they call her "Snitch B!tch" when ever they walk past our house and at the train station. She pretends not to seem phased... she "doesn't want to appear weak" and refuses to change anything because of this harassment... she refuses to avoid the train station for example. Imagine sending her to the school that these kids go too! No way! Not going to happen! I think all this is reinforcing her interest in becoming a police officer! Aaaaanyhow Dh and rarely argue over money... but Dh is also demoralised by a very similar issue to yours Tali: My Dh is the most experienced banker in his department now... but because he's been there the longest he is paid the least... the bank has had to lure the newer bankers there with higher wages. He also has asked for a pay rise... but of course with all the uncertainty with the World Financial Crisis his boss can't make any guarantees. So frustrating... and I totally empathsise Tali!!! Mel: is right... every dog has his day (good things eventually happen to good people). The thing is we have invested so much into Verity's education and to pull out now just seems crazy. If Dh was paid what the other bankers are being paid we'd be alright.... and YES he spends a good percentage of his day sorting out other bankers messes... calming client complaints that other bankers have incurred etc. because he too is a perfectionist and actually likes things done properly ie so that no one gets shafted and that deals aren't dodgy. Enough of my venting LOL
Thanks for the compliments on my avvys too .... I can't wait to do yours Tali :) I'm getting more particular on who i do them for LOL (the upkeep is getting unweildly) but I would definitely help out all my Junies :)
Happy Birthday Tyron!!! :happybirthday: and I also hope Nixon has a smooth and successful Op!
Arrrrgghhhh..... only just mopped the floor and Niall has just dumped a spadeful of DIRT on the floor here beside me! I guess that is the natural law of things :wall: Better clean it up before it's spread any further!
-
 Bath
As for school fee's have you thought about talking to the school about seeing as you have been going for so long, I know that when I went to school ( moldy twisty ) by the time I was going ( the 4th DD ) it was the 90's and dad was having a hard time making the payments for all of us and know that he just did some type of payment plan, which both he and the school was happy with.... But this of course ment he was still paying of school fee and while after the youngest was finish but still he did pay it off... You dont know unless you dont ask...
:partysmiley: Happy Anniversary Mel :confetti:
Mel as to BHL getting less money there are different companies who are meant to be looking after there own stuff and so the mining company pays them more as they are meant to be the one who know what they are doing ( but dont ) and the others have just been there longer so once again they expect them to know more and be the ones helping everyone else ...

Hello all. Just in case you dont read the birth announcements, fellow Junie Amanda had her 5th boy today! Name as yet unknown. :)
-
Thanks Ang, better go check it out - how exciting.
Nic - hope Nixon's operation went well yesterday. Let us know how both of you are going.
Bath - I hope you can convince DH to keep her where she is, as you said only 4 more years. The girls from the other school sound like right SKANKS!! Lovely behaviour, I would be mortified if any of my girls behaved like that. Verity is such a well grounded and sensible girl (thanks to you being such a good mum!) who can see those girls for what they are.
Thanks for your anniversary wishes. We had the best couple of days. On Tuesday which was our anniversay, I got home to this huge box on the kitchen bench. Opened it up for find my new KENWOOD PATISSIERE MIX MASTER :leap: I have been wanted one for so long but they are frightfully expensive but DH has had it laybyed for a while. I can't wait to start making pastries etc on the weekend. He is such a wonderful DH. Last night we went to see Wicked, and wow, what an amazing show. I absolutely loved every second of it. We went for dinner at a beautiful restaurant across the road, had a great meal and then the show topped off a fantastic anniversary. How will we top that next year? I highly recommend anyone who gets the chance to go and see Wicked. I am still thinking about it today. MIL was great looking after the kids for us as we left early and didn't get home until nearly midnight.
Hi to everyone else and hope you all get to enjoy the sunshine today.
-
Thanks for the 'heads up' on Amanda's birth Ang :) HERE's a direct link for everyone to her announcement thread.
Mel: oooooh a mixer!!! I would looove one myself... i'm keen on a kitchenaid... but it's going to be while coming I'm afraid... I just know you're going to make the most delicious things!!! Enjoy! :D
Yes, DH has calmed down a bit about verity's schooling. BTW the harassers were mainly boys. They are scary individuals... lord help us if my boys end up hanging around people like them! Actually... that won't be happening... I will put my foot down and insist we move if that's the case.
