Hi everyone!!
Mum of Lewis, Ava has 2 teeth coming through (on the sides up the top, i thought they were supposed to get the bottom front first lol trust her to be different!!) She is doing ok but yesterday was a bad day she was in pain all day and its the worse feeling because you can only give so much bonjela and nurofen, so im thinking its a good thing his havent come through yet lol but some advice would be to make sure you have your pain relief ready because when they start crying they dont stop!!!
Have a great day :-)

Hi ladies
Hope all mums and bubs are doing well.
Mikayla is unfortunately still not sleeping much at night. I still havent tried to wean her off her dummy yet so I guess its MY BAD!! She's gradually putting on more weight and as of last Thursday she was up to 5.550kg - havent measured her in a while so might do that tomorrow.
We started mothers group at the local clinic last week. It goes for 2 hours, once a week over 4 weeks. I ummed and arrghed about going initially but thought it might be nice to meet some other mums in the area since we've only just moved here.
Mikayla started swimming lessons yesterday and she absolutely loved it!!! I've put up some pics on her website if anyone would like to have a look (see 12 weeks+). She's definitely a little water baby. She practically smiled the whole time and was kicking her legs around like crazy. DH is going in to the water with her till I build up the courage - I'm afraid I might accidently let go and send her straight to the bottom :D She looked sooo cute in her little swimmers - though it was hard getting a swimsuit and nappy pants in her size - even the disposable swimmer nappies start at 7kg.
Well I guess I'd better start on the 3 baskets of ironing while she's asleep - right????
Big hugs to all the bubs from Mikayla. Catch up soon xx

Hi,
Tanz-Ava,
Yes Lewis's teeth are 3rd from the middle aswell. No sign of his middle ones under his gums yet. I bought some Wedela teething powder and Panadol but so far he isn't too grumpy.
Teepee - I thought you had to wait for the 6 month injections until the bubs could go swimming. I'm dying to take Lewis. Maybe I'll look into it then. I know what you mean about letting them go in the water. Either that or holding them so tight they will have red finger marks around their waist!
Lewis is having his nap and he just woke up after 30 mins but I was cleaning so I left him. Now he's gone back to sleep. Maybe I should leave him more often as he can probably put himself to sleep again, but all this time I have been taking him out as soon as he wakes the first time, poor thing!
This morning when he woke at 4.10am, he actually went back to sleep for an hour. I'm hoping it's a new phase and not just a one off!!
I'm off to see Hairspray at the movies tonight. Woohoo, a night out, what a rare occasion!

P.S Tina just looked at the photo's, how cute! I love number 16 where her feet are sticking out of the water!! And DH would be soooo jealous if he saw your mini!

Hi everyone!
We just got back from a little holiday to QLD to visit family. Mackenzie had her first plane ride ... v.exciting. We took off and I thought she would cry .. I was allowed to b/f her and just after take off she started laughing! I think I might have a little daredevil on my hands! Visit family was lovely .. but its nice to be back home ifkwim.
Mackenzie is now well and truly into size 00 and am now telling my MIL to buy 0 as we now have about '30' 00 outfits - I am not exagerating... so so so many clothes! She is now grasping everything and putting it straight into her mouth .. toys .. blankets.. mummys hair ... anything! So i have been making sure EVERYTHING is clean! God help my when she begins crawling which wont be long. I can see when I put her on her tummy she is starting to bring her legs underneith her ... NOOO Where did my baby go ??? She is turning into a crawler :( They sure are not babies for very long.
Sarah - I can understand you biting your tongue around MIL, I do sometimes too, but my MIL lives interstate so when she sees DD I can understand the "wanting to hold her all the time". We just got back from a 4 day holiday and I think she only came to me for feeds! Your lucky Lewis went back off to sleep, if I leave Mackenzie she wimpers .. then cries ... then screams. The most I get out of her is abot 20-40 mins twice a day. Hairspray looks like a great movie, hope you have a fabulous time.
Tina - Mikayla is so so cute in the swimming pics! I love them! We just got back from QLD and DH took Mackenzie swimming but it was a little bit cold and she cried, so better luck next time at Christmas. Kenzie still isnt sleeping through the night and is about a month older that your DD, so I can't offer you any adice about that, I am still up at 10.30pm, 3-4am and then 6am.
Mel - WOW your son has 10 hour sleeps!!! You luck lucky mummy! I am glad I'm not the only one who lets their little one fall asleep at the breast, although Kenzie has just started to bite me ... so I'll have to read up on how to stop that!
Zofia - Good purchase on the playgym mat, Mackenzie just LOVES hers she is now kicking the toys with her feet and putting everything in her mouth. I'm sure Diana will love hers too what sort did you buy?
Charlyfrog - I soooo hear you with the washing, I have just got back from a 4 day holiday and feel like all the wardrobes are empty and my laundry is FULL :( Hopefully tomorrow will be a nice warm day and I'll get at least half of it done. So so depressing.
Feathertop - Nice to meet you! The stopping in the middle of a feed is cute isnt it! Mackenzie does it too .. although now she feeds for 10 seconds stops ... moves her head upwards (taking my nipple with her ouch!) ... checks to see if daddy and her big sister are still here ... then reattaches to feed ... then repeats this in another 10 seconds! It was cute for the first few days .. but now is getting quite painful!
Hope everyone is getting lots of sleep!
:heartbeat:

Thanks Sarah & Jen - its was so cute watching her kick her feet and push off DH like she wanted to swim all on her own :D
I hadn't heard that you had to wait till 6 month injections though!!! I was going to take her to Sutherland Aquatic Center but they start at 6mths so we're going to Holsworthy where they start at 3mths. I might ask at the clinic tomorrow about that one!
DH has had so many mini's over the years I've stopped counting. That's a long term one which he's had for about 10 years and he races but he would have bought and sold hundreds of them - drives me crazy!!! :D
-
Tina - DH is like that with VW Beetles. He has a 1972 one at the moment which he reckons he's keeping until Lewis is 18! I also keep catching him looking at VW Kombi campervans on ebay. He has visions of us taking road trips with Lewis 'Little Miss Sunshine' style! I have visions of us broken down on the highway.......!
Jen - Mackenzie sounds like a right little character! I don't envy your nipples when she looks around for her Dad and sister though! I know what ou mean about them growing quickly, I just cut the feet off one of Lewis's sleepsuits as his feet were curled up in the ends! He is also into 00's now, must go shopping again!

Hi everyone
Tina - wow at Mikayla swimming. She looks so cute! I too thought that there weren't any swimming lessons starting before 6 months... I want to take Diana swimming now. What kind of nappy did you end up using?
Babybella - yes Diana does like her play gym. Can't remember what kind we got... There's a photo of it up on Diana's site.
Diana was weighed and measured today. She is 5.6kg and 62cm. The nurse even made a note in her blue book that she has a beautiful smile. She is sleeping through the night (about 7:00pm - 5:00am or so, with a dream feed around 11:00pm).
Hi to everyone else. I haven't had time to read all the posts recently, so hope to catch up soon. Hope you all have a good night and that your bubs sleep well.

Hi girls!!!
Just a quick one, as I'm running late already today. I'm kinda back working, so I have to get to the office to do a loan. :(
A-n-y-w-a-y...
Sorry I haven't been around much. Up until this weekend, I was flat out trying to organise Caeleb's christening. He looked like such a little prince in his outfit. And he only cried because the Pastor accidentally tipped the water into his eyes. There is a couple photos of him on his special day in the gallery.

I started a thread on the ingredients that companies are putting in our little ones products, bath wash and shampoo etc. It's REALLY disturbing. I've now switch Caeleb over to all natural, 100% organic products. If you girls are interested, here is the link to the post.

Okay must go, love to you all!

Hi guys. The photos look great Celsie. He looks soo cute. love the little outfit.
I did read your link on the additives in the bath products. It made me think abit. I have been using bedtime bath on Aiden, and noticed his skin was always dry after using it. Brought something else for him yesterday, will see how it goes.
Anyway - girls, sorry, but, abit busy atm. Have also started work again. Its just from home, 5hrs a day, 5 days a week. But, taking abit to get into routine, and get things happening smoothly. It was all abit sudden, so, we are still trying to work things out abit.
Aiden is going well. Weighs about 7.4kg i think. Last time i measured him, he was about 66cm. He has learnt to roll on to his right side, and yesterday, i busted him on his tummy. He had gone straight over. So now, i have the anti roll cushions in his cot. Terrified he will roll over during the night. Oh, and nights.... he has gone from big 8hr sleeps, to, maxium of 5hours. Has his last feed at 6. then to bed, and then i dream feed at about 10, then again 2 or 3, and then up at 6. Driving me mental. My mum says, give the boy solids. So, i have been. the first night, he slept for 9hours, magic. But. then, back to 4 -5 hours again. He now has farex mixed with a little jar food twice a day, as well as 5-6 bottles, each at 150ml each (plus formula). I have just increased his bottle sizes to 180ml plus formula. He is eating about 1/3 of a cup of farex/jar food mix per feed as well. I generally make a bottle, use it to mix the farex, and then, once he has eaten all i have made, he finishs the bottle. What a guts!. But, he is getting very clever, very strong in the legs. Loves to stand. Has nearly sat up once on his own as well. He is just having a major growth spurt i think. I have been buying him a heap of clothes. Lots of size 1 and 2 for winter, and 0 for this summer.
Tina - loved the photos of Mikayla at the pool. So cute!
gotta scoot. I have been reading all the new posts, and, as soon as things settle down, i will catch up better...

Celsie - Love the christening photos, you must be so proud of him :heartbeat:
I only buy organic or natural toiletries for Lewis as there are alot of chemicals etc in normal products. Johnsons are one of the worst too! Even their Naturals range has chemicals in. And as you only have to use such a small amount of product anyway they last for months so the cost doesn't really make a difference. I plan to only feed him organically aswell for the first 12 months. As it is mainly pureed veg etc at first it shouldn't be too expensive.
Well Lewis was a little gem last night. He slept from 7pm-3.50am and then 4.30am-8am! I culdn't believe it. I had to go and check on him a few times and wake DH up to tell him the good news!! I'm not sure why but he has been having longer day sleeps aswell so maybe something is changing.
I have also been doing some work from home, but I have been doing it in the evenings when Lewis is in bed so it's been okay. Bloody money hey, it rules our lives!!
Does anyone know anything about kids not watching TV until 2 years old? I have the baby Einstein DVD for Lewis and thought it was good for his cognitive development, but have read that it's really bad for them. I understand general TV is bad for them but stuff like Baby Einstein I thought would be okay.

Hi all
Celsie the photos of Caeleb are gorgeous. Glad you had a great day and finally found an outfit in the right size!!
Sarah I spoke to the HC nurse today about the swimming and she said she's never heard of having to wait until bubs has had their 6 month injections. She said that the illnesses that they're being immunised against aren't water-born & that they wouldnt have any more chance of catching anything from the swimming pool as they would in a shopping center. So if your thinking about taking Lewis swimming its fine as long as the pool is heated - the shock of cold water can apparently be a problem.
Well I'd better go - DH has cooked me a delicious smelling steak :D
Take care xx
-
Oh great, thanks for that.
-
hi everyone
just read the thread about baby products - my MIL sent me a natural organic range from NZ which has been brilliant for Jackson's skin - which was really dry from using Johnsons - I also have the Gaia stuff which seems ok as well
Jackson is doing well, he still hasn't rolled over but spends so much time rolled onto one side that I'm sure it won't be too long before he flips himself over
I spoke to both the sydney olympic pool and another pool in lidcombe and they both said that the swimming lessons start at 6 months - they didn't give me a reason why so maybe I'll call back and ask why
exciting news is that I have lost 5 kg woohooooooo - all that walking with the stroller must be helping!!!
I'm going back to work in January - I'm only going back 2 days a week but I'm freaking out about leaving my little man for 8 hours
hope everyone is having a great week
Mel

Morning girls!
Glad to hear you're all doing well. :)
I thought swimming lessons were at 6 months too, but if I'm allowed to do it earlier, I will! I think Caeleb would LOVE swimming lessons. And it's another thing that he can do with his Daddy!
Caeleb rolled over for the first time on Monday. I was SO proud of him. I was cheering, but laughing so much because he had such a surprised look on his face! Kinda like... What the?!? ROFL
We've got out mother's group again today and can't wait. Caeleb has a little girlfriend. Her name is Isla and she's 3 months OLDER than him! LOL - He's so funny with her. He gives her these shy little smiles... Aww...
Has anyone tried that Organic Baby Formula they sell in Coles? I'm thinking about switching Caeleb over to it for his top up bottles. Although, after this morning's effort, he may be switched over totally. He had both boobs and then another 100ml. OMG!!! I know he's having a growth spurt this week, because he's been hard work, feeding every two hours and not sleeping much at all during the day! Poor Mummy! Lucky I love him!!! ;)
Anyway, must get moving! Will BBL.
