Hi everyone,
We had a very bad night last night. Mackenzie would not settle from 9pm till 12.30 am then she was up agian to feed at 2.30 and didn't go back to sleep unitl 4.00 then yes you guessed it up again at 5.30. I was so tied today. Fingers crossed we have a good night tonight.
Naomi my DH does night shift every 3 weeks and I found the first time he went hard but after that fine. DH doesn't get up to her during the night so really there was no differance. I promise you you will be fine:)
Thats great news Celsie how much Aiden has gained. Mackenzie was born 6lb 11oz and is now 8lb 13oz. It makes it all worth while those middle of the night feeds when you know how much weight the littles ones are gaining.

Hi everyone
I just thought I'd post in this thread and introduce myself. My name is Zofia and I am from Sydney. I have been posting in the July belly buddies thread, but my baby decided to come one month early and was born on 19 June (exactly one month before EDD). She is three weeks old now and all is going well, but I really miss talking to people who are at the same stage as me. Not many people from the July thread have had their babies yet...
Anyway, I look forward to talking to you in this thread. Congratulations on your June babies!

Ashley gets to meet her grandparents for the first time tomorrow! Her first visit from family.. how exciting
-
Hi Zofia! Welcome to both you and little Diana! You're both more than welcome to join this friendly bunch of girls and gorgeous bubbas.
A big woo hoo for PrincessMya and Ashley for her big sleep! I'm really happy for you both.
Caeleb had his first professional photo shoot today. A friend of Lea_13's does it as a hobby, so was kind enough to offer to take shots of my little man. She's emailing the proofs to me soon, so when I get them, I'll post some on his website!

Oh celsie!
Ill be interested to see how they turn out!
Very exciting
-
ooo Sarah, cant wait to see them!
Well Rick isnt working nights anymore, the shopping center which he was painting has refused them to work at night, so woohoo for me lol
Monday night was a exhausting night, Lachlan played up! I ended up only having 3 hrs sleep (a bit here and a bit there), last night was a better, even though i got sleep between his feeds it still felt like i handt slept at all.
Today, i was just so exhausted that i ended up having a sleep after the nurse came to repack my wound until his next feed, so had a 2hrs sleep, although i did keep waking up to check on him lol.
Hopefully tonight is better!
We have half planned our first night out without him, this friday mum and the kids are coming up, and if we feel like it we will go out, prob to movies or just out for tea. Shall be interesting.
Hi Zofia and Diana, you are more then welcome to stay with us!
Princessmya: congrats on the long sleep, Lachlan normally has a longer sleep at night but the last few he has only slept what he has to bascially waking every 3-4hrs for his feed.
Danielle: i hope mackenzie slept better for you last night and again tonight. I know i would have copped with rick doing nights, i wouldnt of really had a choice but the thought of it just made we worry. iykwim
My little man hardly fits into any of his 0000 clothes anymore, have had to start putting him in 000 clothes, i cant believe how much he has grown so quickly.
We had our first proper smile to the other night, I was holding him and rick blew a raspberry on his hand and his whole face lit up and stayed like it for a while, we've gotten him to smile twice since then, the rest have been wind related smiles.
He has the biggest smile, and looks so gorgoeus when he does it, it makes my heart melt. I love my little man!!
Well take care and talk to you all soon, hoe you all get a good nights rest and your little bubbas dont play up to much!

Good morning everyone.
I have great news Mackenzie slept throug the night last night for the 1st time. I did her last feed at 9.30pm and she didn't wake till 5.30am. I however woke 3 times and each time I was a nervous reck. I feel great today. I dont know what I did but god I hope this is a sign of things to come. Adam was on night shift last night so he missed the sleep LOL. I rang him at 3.30am and said she is still asleep do you think I should wake her to feed. He said dont you dare just leave her. When she woke this morning I was so happy to see her.
Princessmya I think Mackenzie has taken a leaf out of Ashley's book.
I hope you all had good sleeps as well.
-
Oh Danielle, that's such fantastic news!!! Congratulations!!! :confetti:

Hi everyone
Thanks for welcoming me. I have briefly skimmed through this thread, trying to catch up on all your news. I saw that many of you posted your birth stories. Here is mine.
On Monday 18 June I went to bed thinking - wow - tomorrow it will be one month until my baby is due (her EDD was 19the July). SuperBub had other ideas though.
At 1:30am on Tuesday morning (19 June) I woke up with a cramp and a need to go to the toilet. I barely made it to the bathroom before a whole lot of liquid gushed out of me. I thought nothing of this at first, but it just wouldn't stop. I started to panic and quickly read all my labour info to see if I could find out what was going on. It seemed that perhaps my membranes had ruptured, so I rang the hospital, described my symptoms and asked what to do. The midwife I spoke said that it was possible that I had ruptured my membranes and to call her back in twenty minutes. If I was still "leaking" I would have to come in to the hospital.
I got off the phone and quickly started to pack my bag, thinking that even if I didn't have to go in today, I would be going in some time soon, so I should be prepared (I hadn't packed anything before then as I thought I'd have plenty of time later...). Twenty minutes later I was all packed - dressing gown, nightie, slippers, underpants, maternity bra, as well as a water bottle, book, etc. I also packed all my paperwork, some nappies and the baby clothes. I was still leaking so I rang the hospital and they told me to come in straight away. I woke up poor DF, who had gone to bed early the previous evening with a horrible flu and fever, saying that I needed to go to the hospital NOW and was he able to take me. He got up, we got dressed and were on our way.
On arrival at the labour ward, I was ushered into an examination room. DF dropped off my bags and told me to ring him when I was ready to be picked up. We both thought that they would observe me for an hour or so, then let me go home. But it turned out that my membranes had indeed ruptured, but because I was under 36 weeks (35 weeks, 4 days), they were going to admit me and I would have to stay in hospital until the baby was born! What's more, I had been getting more cramps and it turned out that they were contractions. I was in labour! Eeek!
I was asked if I wanted to take part in a trial for women whose membranes rupture early. They would assign me randomly to either a) wait and see what happens, or b) to induce labour. As I had no birth plan, other than trying to do it as naturally as possible, but going with the flow if need be, I agreed to take part, and was assigned to be induced.
I was having contractions about 5 mins apart at this stage. They were uncomfortable, but I was breathing through them. At about 5:30am, they then put in an oxytocin drip to induce the labour further and left me to it. I called DF and told him that we were having a baby today and to come back now. By the time he arrived, the contractions were getting really painful. I tried to breathe through them with gas, but it wasn’t really working. Still, I didn’t want either pethidine or an epidural, so I persevered. By about 9:00am or so, I couldn’t handle it anymore. I was 3-4cm dilated and they estimated that it would take another 4 hours or so for me to dilate fully. So asked for an epidural. It didn’t hurt going in at all and the relief was fantastic. I could still feel the peaks of the contractions, but they didn’t hurt. I could also still move and feel my legs, which was something that I had been afraid I wouldn’t be able to do, so that was good. (I later found out that oxytocin is known to make contractions more severe and more painful – if I had known that earlier I wouldn’t have waited so long for the epidural.)
By 10:00am, I was fully dilated. They turned the epidural off and I started to push. This was the most difficult part so far, as even though I felt the urge, because of the epidural I felt that I couldn’t do it. Gradually the feeling started coming back, but despite the midwives telling me that I was doing well, I still felt that I wasn’t able to push hard enough. On inspection, it turned out that SuperBub’s head was turned the wrong way, which is what was making it so difficult. By 11:30am, I was still pushing but getting tired. SuperBub was getting tired too so I was asked if I wanted some help getting the baby out (meaning suction or forceps). I agreed and they decided to pull her out with forceps. I needed an episiotomy (one of the things I had really been hoping to avoid), but by this point I didn’t care. After some more pushing from me and some serious pulling from two doctors, SuperBub (aka Diana Lidia) was born at 11:49am on June 19, exactly one month before her estimated due date.
They let me hold her and have some skin to skin to contact while DF cut the cord. It was the most unreal moment of my life. After a while they weighed and measured her (2485g, 47.5cm), then gave her back to me. I was then told to put her on the breast. I was a bit worried that she wouldn’t suck, as she was premature and apparently some premmies find this difficult. I needn’t have worried, as she latched on almost straight away. I couldn’t get over how beautiful she was (I mean I knew she’d be cute, but she is so much prettier that even I imagined).
I spent the next 6 days in hospital as they wanted to keep an extra eye on Diana as she was premature and a bit jaundiced. The stay was a bit of a nightmare as I found that the different midwives would give me conflicting advice and that no one would tell me from day to day what was going on. Also, the hospital has a policy that the babies can’t sleep in bed with you, but have to sleep in their bassinets and you’re not supposed to carry them around the ward, but to wheel them around in their bassinets. This was a bit annoying as I just wanted to hold her all the time.
We have been home for almost three weeks now and are settling into a routine. I have learnt to express breast milk and have gone back to work part time this week. DF works part time too, different hours to me, so we share care of Diana.
I look forward to sharing our journey with you. Will post more later. Take care and hope you all have a good night and that you and your babies get some sleep. Diana is somewhat nocturnal and sleeps for a decent length of time about once a week. Hoping tonight will be one of those nights and that we both manage to get some rest as we are helping my sister move in the weekend. :)
P.S. Sorry for the long post.

We got kicked out of our thread lol, i went to go post and it said this post is closed, went to go find the new one to find they wont give us a new one and are telling us to come post here!! how dare they make us come post in babies born june and not babies due in june LMAO
so i have just copied and pasted what i was in the other thread
even though its written in my signature, i thought i would announce it here (and only here)
We are officially TTC#2 next year, hopefully Lachlan will be around a year old before we start trying and be close to 2 before we have it, only my mum knows and you lovely ladies. If we told anyone else they would think we are crazy, planning so soon after having Lachlan.
We want our bubs to be close in age, and who is to say it takes us a while to concieve anyway, it took a while to concieve Lachlan so who knows he could be 3 by the time we hav our next bub, so we thought we would start trying basically asap and hope for the best.
We arnt crazy for planning so soon are we??
-
Naomi - very quickly, cause i have to go feed Aiden.
Yes - very rude beingkicked out of our other thread :) but, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
We are going to start TTC at christmas! Well, technically, i/we will not be using any form of contraception, but about xmas time will start thinking more seriously about it, it took 14months of ttc for Aiden
be back soon he getting very frustrated!!
-
ooooo thats cool Deb, im glad we arnt alone with ttc#2 so quickly.
With everything we have been through, im willing to go through it all again.
What a journey it was with a little miracle at the end!!
Lachie not due for another hr to be fed!!
Have fun

Hi Girls,
Yes I know Lewis is a July baby but I didnt want to leave you all so I'm sticking in the June babies thread! (Hi to those I haven't met before:D)
Lewis slept much better last night, he went until 4am, fed and back down at 5am until 8am and fed and asleep again at 10am. So hopefully his unsettled few days were a growth spurt and not a sign of things to come!
Today is the first day that DH is back at work. I'm quite enjoying pottering around doing my own thing. I'm sure I'll miss him by tonight though, he won't get home until 10pm as he's a chef.
Anyway must go and try and express some milk for greedy guts before he wakes up!!
-
well, he wasnt due for a feed for another hr at least either. Hasnt been asleep yet this morning, and still not looking like he will yet.
We did have a pretty good night last night thou. He feed at 5pm, and then slept till 9.30, then feed again, back to sleep at 10.30, awake at 2, back to sleep by 3, and awake at 5.30. Been awake pretty much since then. Had a 5.30 feed, a 7.30 feed, and just had a 10.30feed. Fingers crossed, he gets some sleep.
After his 7.30feed thou, i put him back down, and left him. He gurgled for about an 30min, not unhappy thou, so i left him, but when i went it to check on him, he had done big milk spews. Had to do a complete change of clothes and bedding. I felt so bad that i had left him like that, but, i didnt know, and he didnt sound like he was sick or anthing.
I think his big prob at the moment, is us having the 1 car. Having to wake him when he is not ready etc, to go pick up Darren from work is throwing any sorta of routine out the window. But, thankfully, today is the last day.
Naomi - i never got back to you re: msn. I havent been on it for ages. But, will get back on board soon.
And yeah, i dont like to tell people that we are TTC so soon. I remember Darren saying to someone that we would be wanting another baby nearly straight away. The other person said "oh no, you cant do that to her!" like, it was none of my decision, and Darren was going to just 'do it' while i was asleep or something. So, i figure, like alot of other things we have decided to do with pregnancy, if its going to be controvisal (sp??) just either dont tell anyone, or be choosy on who you tell.
-
Sarah - :happyforyou: yes, you have to stay with us.
You girls that hung on till July was part of the reason why i kept posting in the belly buddy section, instead of here...
Please stay!!
Thats a pretty good eat sleep pattern that lewis was in last night. Aiden maybe today has gone back to his awake all day, feed every 2 hour pattern. Hope it doesnt last.
It is nice when DH's are at home, but, its also nice to be on your own, and do you own thing during the day. Darren went back to work on Monday, and i just loved having the place to myself again. I appreciate him abit more now as well when he is home, which is good for all of us.
Anyone DTD yet?
-
yes Sarah pls stay........
Deb: we havnt dtd yet, only b/c of a wound breakdown i have, but like my last post in the belly buddies due thread, its healing really fast. I asked my RDNS nurse if it ok if we dtd before my 6wk check up, she said b/c of having an open wound (only a couple of mm deep and wide now, was 1cm deep and 2cm wide) we would be bringing bacteria there and suggested we wait, but if we "cant" wait to have a long cleansing shower after and not to dtd all the time prehaps only try once maybe twice before my 6wk check up.
I posted in the AO section about it, i really want to dtd, even been dreaming about it, but am way to scared b/c of pain and the wound, atleast Ricks taken care of, i think i can wait to fill my obsession atm lol
I know what you mean about having one car, we have had that too, only just getting the 2nd car fixed today (our other car is a ute so cant put Lachlan in it either) so have been stuck at home, only when we borrow his mums car can we go anywhere.
Dont worry about him having a spew in bed and not knowing, the same thing has happened to us, and i felt really guilty. We have a baby monitor, one of those sids ones that detect the breathing and after 20sec of it not detecting breathing it sends off a alarm. And i still didnt know he had spewed, but then again he was fine just sleeping in it lol, im sure if anything was wrong you would here/know it. Dont feel bad we cant watch them 24/7 iykwim
Well better go he starting to get restless for his feed, i cant believe he is even asleep, normally after his morning feed he stays awake most of it having his tummy time. i guess he needed sleep.
Although he has had 2 nights of skipping his early morning feed. Give him 180ml bottle at his 12am feed (normally has 120mls), only b/c he wants the extra and he'll sleep through his 4am feed and wake around between 6-8am! I love the extra sleep if i wasnt so panicky about him skipping a feed so young, but figure if he was hungry he would wake up and demand a feed.
really gotta go, he awake now
