Mo - I didnt know you had been unwell. Sorry to hear that! Take care of yourself. Glad check up went well. Also good to hear that K is better. Hope M is well soon.
T is doing well and nothing new lately. Just gets more dexterous every day.
I start working 3 full days as of next week. It is tricky going all day without feeding her. I get very full and she gets a bit desperate by late afternoon - wont nap until I get home poor thing.

Hi girls,
It's been a long time since i've been in here. Am going through some personal stuff at the moment and am having a tough time. I just want to go to sleep and wake up when it's over.
Miss A is going really well. She is getting cheekier and cheekier everyday and has starting throwing tanties too when she doesn't get what she wants which is a bit confronting.
I'm going to make a yo gabba gabba cake for A's b'day. A "foofa" cake actually (the pink one for anyone who's ever watched the show)
Mo - Sounds like you guys are having a rough trot at the moment, fingers crossed things get better soon.
SP - Good luck with work, I'm kinda looking forward to starting back at work but at the same time want to stay at home for as long as i can. I'm sure most of us feel the same way.
JM - Wow, you will be moving before you know it. What's the weather like in PNG? I imagine it being quite humid but really have no idea.
-
Bron i diagnosed 6 years ago with Ulcerative Colitis, so it's been one giant rocky road.
Good luck with going back to work 3 days next week.
FF i hope things pick up for you soon
-
FF- My life has been a bit rocky of late too. I sympathise, and can relate to that feeling. I hope things start getting a little easier for you.
Awww Mo, Maddi is too cute! Did you tell her she can come and play with Lu anytime??? Glad the results were all ok. How is the prednisilone (sp?) going? Is it helping?
We've had a busy week. We went to SA to visit some friends, was a bit of a trip from hell, 9 hours in the car each way, and 4 of us sleeping in a small room didn't result in alot of sleep! Then it was my birthday on Friday so have had been partying hard. bahahahahaha not really, but have a had a couple of nice dinners. ;) I turned 28 (started counting back when i got to 30. :p)
Sas is walking a fair bit now. Although crawling is still her preferred method of transport. She has started blowing kisses which is quite hilareous, must have been watching her big sister. Sleep is still a bit hit and miss but we're getting there.

Hi ladies,
I just wanted to ask if you would mind if I joined in your group? The first half April group don't talk. I think the last time someone posted in there was three months ago. I loved having my baby buddies with DD1 and miss it for DD2.
A bit of background for me. I have two DD's. They are a little under fifteen months apart. Amy turned 2 early Jan and Skye was born on 1 April 09 so we've got a 1st bday party coming up like all of you ladies! Skye started walking last week and still crawls a little but much prefers walking. It's a little bit of a shock because DD1 didn't crawl until 10 months so to have Skye walking at that age is a little different! She climbs everything. I turned my back for a second the other day and she'd managed to climb to the top of the slippery dip, but up the slide bit, not the ladder. Heart attack moment! My girls love each other to bits. DD1 has never been jealous, just lots of kisses and cuddles, but lately Skye has been showing a little bit of jealousy! Funny how things turn out! She's got her four top front teeth and two bottom ones......um.....not sure what else to tell. She copies me when I sing la la la to her and dada. She LOVES music and dances to it. She's started giving kisses and cuddles which is just so lovely. I'm loving this age. And I'm loving having two young kids. I really hope you don't mind me joining in. I just miss the company of other mums with kids the same age.
Junglemum - happy birthday for Friday! So cute that Sas is blowing kisses! your two kids are close in age too. How do you find it?
funkeefrog - Skye throws some cracking tanties too. It's no fun at this age because they don't really understand time out or anything like that yet. I hope everything is ok. Foopa cake sounds fantastic. DD1 LOVES yo gabba gabba. Skye loves playschool (well the intro music anyway)
Superpumpkin - good luck with work. I go back next week too for one day a week.
Mo - that's no good about you all being sick. I hope you are all improving.
Hope you are all having a lovely day x Nik
-
Welcome Nik! Alexandra was born on 6th April (I was due on the 30th March) and I started out in the April group but found them to be way to quiet too. Your girls sound beautiful, I am really loving this age too. When they actually come to you for cuddles melts my heart. DD loves Yo gabba gabba and goes crazy when she hears it starting :)
JM - We've done the long trip in the car thing (10hrs) and it wasn't fun with 1 kid let alone 2 so well done on surviving the trip and Happy Birthday! for Friday
I have finished buying birthday presents. Not going too crazy - I've got a bunnykins melamine bowl/plate/cup set, a ride on toy and some books. We are obsessed with books here atm. DD sits for ages just flicking the pages over and over and over again. We have only just had first steps here last week but DD prefers to crawl. She is super cautious still, will stand on her own for ages until she realises that she's not holding onto anything :D
-
Thanks for the welcome funkeefrog. That is so adorable that your little girl likes books. Skye just rips into them atm. I've had to pack all the paper ones away. I thought I recognized your name! The other thread frustrated me! I was due on 11 April but we got an April fools bub :D the pressies you've bought sound perfect. I think we'll just put money into skye's bank account like we did with Amy and maybe get her one little present to open. No idea what to get though....maybe some more mega blocks. They are the best! We'll just have a get together at home for close friends and family I think.
-
Hi & Welcome to the group Nik. It will be nice having someone else to chat to :D
Jane we will have to catch up before you take off next month. Maddi would be so upset if she didn't get to play with Lulu again.
I'll bbl.
-
hi nik, and welcome.
i have been very slack in posting in here, so sorry! been busy with the kids, trying to shift this extra weight. dont ya feel that once they are approaching 12months you cant keep using the baby weight excuse.. hmm its almost been a year now! LOL
been busy with my tupperware stuff also, but it is starting to slow down now so i may have a bit of extra time on my hands.
chels is going well, she still has 8 teeth. been walking for for a month and a bit. still breastfeeding but give her a forumla bottle before bed. i went out for the night for my birthday and she was great for DH, slept better than wheni am around.. maybei should go out more often :-)
she is turning into a real climber too, up on the couch, over the chest that i have blocking her off from getting out of the loungeroom! climbing up on the tv cabinet doors and just hanging off them! she is driving me nuts! hannah was never a climber so i am not used to it.
hannah is still testing the limits, and needing extra attention.
hope everyone else is going well too. and for those of you having a rocky patch, feel free to vent in here. sometimes it helps to chat about stuff.
:-)

Ange how many years did you get out of last RAK? A belated Happy Birthday.
How cute is Sas, blowing kissing.
Pred is doing it's job, keeping me fat lol oh well it's better than being stuck in hossy.
My Dr put me on some new meds & so far things are going really well, fingers crossed it does the job.
Hollo nice to hear from you again, so glad Chelsea is doing well. Hannah isn't the only toddler testing limits.
Nik your girls sound adorable, you've been so lucky not to have any jealously. My eldest was jealous a lot at first but now she just adores her sister. Mind you we still have the odd day of jealous behavior.
FF good job on the present buying, i have no idea what to get Kodi. I seriously i need some ideas.
-
FF - Yes books are Ts favorite too. She likes them better than toys and we read 20 or so to her each day. She loves Spot books the best of all. Hugs for your tuff time.
T is only just walking and standing without assistance now but still becoming balanced.
Hollo - glad you are back. Sounds like Chels is keeping you very busy!
Nik - Welcome. It is good to have another mum to chat with. :D
Mo - as K is the 2nd girl you probably have heaps of things already - I really love the all wood trolley I saw at the local boutique in Croydon. It is pink and has puzzles to play with on the sides. Not cheap though so not sure. T loves pushing things around just now.
Jane - stuff that single mum thing - it was TOO hard really (character building) and I am wrapped to have a lovely partner who is super involved with this baby. It is such a special thing to have the chance to experience things as they 'should be'.
Work sux! I wanna be home :crying:
-
Aww Bron, it must be so hard working and leaving her at home. :( I got a great wooden trolley at the Yarra Glen Market. It is made by and old man who has been making wooden toys for donkeys years. It is so sturdy. When i bought it he had one there that was 30 years old that he made for his kids and now his grandkids were using it! I havn't been since the market moved to Healsville, but i presume he goes there.
Mo- i think i got 2 years.... it expires next year. I 'think' i got a collective RAK from lots of people, as in lots of people contributed. I got a year purchased and a year for free. IYKWIM. That was the rumor i heard anyway. ;) Your idea of fat isn't really fat Mo! Maybe fat for you, but you don't even rate on a fat scale. ;)
Nik- i struggle somedays, but it's getting easier as they get older. I do wish they slept at the same time, but that rarely happens. I love watching them play and interact, they really love each other and their faces light up when they see each other in the morning, it is so cute. DD1 is a bit heavy handed sometimes but she means well. :p
-
Ange i'm gonna have to check out that market, I always hear about the bargains you get.
Your very kind, but i wanna lose the weight so bad. I'll get there by the end of the year ;)
Bron it's hard buying for the 2nd girl, there is only so many toys, books & clothes a house can hold!
These new meds are giving me huge headaches, I'm so ever stupid side effects.
I'll stop complaining now :)
-
Nik - Money in a bank account sounds like a fantastic idea. We haven't opened one for Alexandra yet. We love blocks here too, my parents have kept a huge box of duplo from when we were kids and Alexandra loves the little people. She carries one in each hand with her everywhere!
Hollo - great to see you in here! Sounds like things are going well. I am on the weight loss thing at the moment as well. Have lost 7kg since January and have about 15kg to go. The most climbing that Alexandra does is on the lounge room coffee table. My sister was a climber and she was all over everything.
Mo - I hadn't thought about the fact that you already have heaps of toys and clothes, etc. That does make present buying difficult :)
SP - It does suck that we have to work instead of being able to spend all day with our bubbas. I'm probably going to be going back to work in the next 6 months and not sure if I'll be able to do part time so I'm enjoying the time spent at home while I can.
JM - Oooohhh, your big move is getting closer and closer. Are you excited/nervous?
I'm going to my sister's today to visit for a couple of days. It's a 3 hr drive and hopefully the roads won't be flooded with all the rain we've had or I'll have to turn around and come back. I'm looking forward to being able to go shopping in some real shops :D We only have iga/newsagent/post office/dress shop and gift shop here.
-
FF- i am getting excited, not really nervous but definitely looking forward to it. Are you in rural QLD FF? I am LOVING living near shops a gym, friends. Farm life is great but i do miss some things the city has to offer. Have a nice few days away.
Mo- you complain away woman. You NEVER complain, so please do when you feel like it. ;) So Mo...... why were you asking about RAK'ing? What do you know eh??? hmmmmmm? fess up.
-
Just wondering what time your LO's go to bed and wake up? Skye goes to bed 6.30ish and has taken to waking for her bottle at 4.30am. I don't like 4.30am. She wakes a few times at night because she's so long and gets tangled in the side of the cot or gets crossways and bumps her head. I'm looking forward to the 12 month mark hoping that's when things settle down a little! How many sleeps do your bubs have during the day?
-
Nik- Baloo has 2 sleeps a day, one about an hour and one a bit longer. She's a bit of a night owl, i find i can't get her down much before 9.30 but she sleeps until 7.30ish. Sometimes she doesn't wake, other times she wakes 2 or 3 times for whatever reason. DD1 was always in bed between 6 and 7pm and was up at the crack of dawn. I've come to realise it doesn't matter what i do, they are both different and have different internal clocks! I wish DD2 went to bed earlier but i am sure she will soon enough. :D
