Babies born March 16th-31st 2009 #4

Cheshire - I think short periods are somewhat common whilst the body readjusts hormonally etc. Still cant hurt to get a check up.
Corelly - Oh you are sooooo old girl! I've got ten years on you you know. Congrats on the 600th post - I seem to be low on number of posts. I guess I dont have time often but I do love the forum.

I always wanted 4 kids with a big gap between the 2nd and 3rd! It is true and old firends remember me saying it when I was 24 and had a 3 and 5 year old. Unfortunately I had a very bad (intolerable) marriage so had to wait to meet a very special man who was Dad material! I soooo found him I can tell you and feel incredibly lucky today. Maybe I will get my wish or maybe I wont but either way I have been blessed big time and cant complain. A 17 year gap was a bit longer than I would have planned mind you but it is working so well! The boys adore their little sister and no rivalry.

Mo- i have had two very light periods, lasting 2 days. But pre-preg they only ever last 3 or 4 so i didn't think much of it. Maybe you've got no blood left to bleed. ;) You know i'm just joking! If you are worried, always worth mentioning it to the dr.

Corelly- I'm 32, and i plan on having another 2! I didn't think i was that old. :lol: Isn't the average age for first time mums about 30 these days?

SP- That is kind of our plan, 4 with a decent gap between 2 and 3. But who knows! Having said that though the twinges of desire are starting! We'll see how long i can keep a lid on them.

We've been away for a few days, so i need to go and sort out all my washing!

Dr said as long as they are regular then it's nothing to worry to about so i feel better now.
lol Jane i thought the same thing last month, which is why i had the blood test. Turns out i'm doing pretty well it was 112 which is high for me.

Interesting to read all the baby plans! None here as I am very much single but who knows in the future, only 22 after all. I don't feel a desire for another right now, one is keeping me so busy and we make a good team, I can't imagine brining another into our groove. Who knows if I'd feel differently if I had another set of helping hands and a stable relationship to welcome them into but for now, its not to be! I did grow up wanting 2 close together... the thought of that now terrifies me so definitely in awe of all who are living that currently!

We are still breastfeeding, I really don't want to lose my easy-to-sleep trick anytime soon and enjoy the added boost to keeping in shape (haha selfish much?) but I am sure she is still getting some sort of benefit too! She definitely wouldn't be happy to stop, she gets grumpy without her milkie fix eeeeek. I'm leaving it for now but if we are still going at two I will be looking to encourage weaning...

We are still at the same walking stage. She rarely takes steps but when she does will walk a good distance. Crawling much preferred so who knows when that will change!

We have a few words starting now and some animal sounds; food, woof, mum and dad but her catch phrase is "who's that" which seems interchangeable for "what's that" too... no idea how that started!

Had DD weighed yesterday, she is almost 16 months and still under 10kg (around 9.8kg). What sort of weights are others? She is still heading up and has always been around the 25th percentile so I guess I shouldn't freak out but its hard not to worry!

That's about all that's going on here! Always good to hear from everyone.

JF Kodi weighs around 9kg, but she is still on the same curve so i'm not worried.


I now have 2 sick kids, can't wait till winter is over!

Hahaha sorry everyone, I didn't mean to indicate that I felt old at 31!!! Not at all!! My own personal goals was to have kids up to a certain age, that's all :) I don't think any of you are old! Oh boy, I feel like my foot is no longer in my mouth but travelling down my throat!

JF - DD started with "who's that" too. And now she says so much, so look out!!!

DD now looks at our dogs and tells them "Sit" "Stay" and "Go Way". Hmmmm. I tell the dogs to go away a lot when I'm making dinner and they sit at the window and cry at me. Pretty funny when she says it but we've got a mimick all right!

:rofl: i don't mind even if you think you are old! I was just reassuring you that you aren't. Or may be i was reassuring myself. ?! :p

Mo- i meant to say Lu couldn't have dairy for a long time, except A2, that stuff is great. Wow Mo 112, you must be feel like dancing?! I'd be in bed if mine was 112. I don't know how you manage.

JF- Sas is about 10kgs. What is the average at this age? We're still BF'ing too. Feeding to sleep is my saviour! I'm with you, i love that it helps keep me in shape! :)

DD is just under 10kg. We stopped B/F. Hasn't made a difference to my weight, but B/F didn't either. Didn't stop my periods either. So basically B/F was a big win for DD and other than the lovely bonding time and quiet time with DD I missed out on all the added body benefits.

K has a throat infection, guess that explains why she is off food my poor bubba.

I guess around 10kg is boringly normal then haha!!

Oh no poor K, hope she feels better soon.

Ella was 11.3kg today and 83 cm :o

Thanks ladies, hopefully the ab's kick in tomorrow and she starts to pick up.

Kell Maddi was the same as Ella at 16 months, sounds like you'll have a tall little girl on your hands as well :)

Aw poor Kodi. Hope she's better soon, Mo. I took DD to the doctor's today, she had the cold a couple of weeks ago and its turned into a horrible chesty cough. I took her and I think the doctor thought I was being a paranoid mother, sent me away saying come back in a couple of days if it gets worse. Her chest is clear and she has no temp so that's good, but seriously. I can't afford to keep going back to the doctor's at $60 a pop!! I came home and thought I should've made her give me a script for something so if it does get worse, I can just get DD the antibiotics. I've only taken her to the doctors for colds twice, and the last time showed she had an ear infection. And doctors wonder why we don't like them!!!!

Kell, hope things turn around soon for you and you get some good news soon. Ella is growing fast, what fantastic measurements!

Does anyone else still have a crawling baby?

Yeah AF showed herself today out of the blue before i could test - been having 34 day cycles and this one was day 26 im very confused :doh:

Jason and i were both disappointing but gave Ella extra hugs and we felt better. if we made her some how well make another just gotta be patient. Even though i want it now now now :p

i hadn't had Ella weighed since 12 months so was bit of a shock she had grown so much though i should have realised since she can get things when i think they are out of her reach lol

We are lucky where i go Ella is bulk billed till she is 16 - i took her for high temps a few weeks ago and he looked at me too like i was a paranoid mother too. said half his patients had a cold/flu and i felt stupid but i was worried about her.

I felt silly taking K in as I thought she just had a cold/cough but she's been so clingy and gone right off her food plus she just looked sick. Im so glad I took her now tho.
Corelly I'm so lucky they bulk bill us, I couldn't imagine trying to money to goto the drs everytime one of us was sick.

Kell i'm pretty sure you'll be geting your bfp next month ;)

Poor K, hope those AB's kick in soon. Lu has a throat infection and a virus. Been vomiting for three days now. :wall: She had Mal;ria last week and now a virus the poor little thing is a bit skinny. She's on the mend now though.

Corelly- I meant to say ages ago, i once read that babies can only develop one area at a time. If they are working on their motor skills then their language takes a back seat. When they work on their language they are not working on moving. So the fact she speaks so well is a testament to this. I know lots of babies who didn't walk until closer to two. We had a lot of early walkers in here though, so the average may seem skewed to you. It's easy for me to say not to worry, but as mothers we are programed to worry. ;) So if you are at all worried perhaps you could take her to see an osteopath? They are very gentle and could check out her alignment and hips.

JM - Not worried about DD's walking. I was just curious to see if anyone else still had a crawler. Our last visit to her hip surgeon was in May and he said not to worry unless she gets to about 22 months and still showing no signs of walking. She can walk with her walker and around furniture, just hasn't got the confidence yet. Crawls like a speed demon though!!!!

Mo - Don't feel silly about taking K in. The way I see it is if we didn't take them in to see a doctor when we thought we should, if it got worse, well that's just not worth thinking about!!!

My friends bub who had dysplasia was the same. After being strapped in the big brace for so long you can hardly blame them for not having the confidence! For what it's worth, she is 4 now and you would never know she ever had a problem. She's even started surfing!
