Poor K Mo! Glad she's ok, tough little monkey!
2 days till O day Kell! best of luck. fingers crossed for you.
DD has one nap. about 2 hours, sometimes only 45 minutes beginning anywhere from 9.30am to 12pm. Not a lot of day sleeping but she sleeps 7.30-.7am-ish so i don't mind.
ETA- Wow Corelly, scary MIL! Bummer about the van. Baloo has a cold too. Nasty cough and a runny nose, it's horrible when they are sick.
-
Corelly sounds like a crummy week for you hope things start to get better soon xoxoxo
Thanks fingers crossed it works this month for us!!!!
One of my best friends had a baby boy this week so went and had cuddles today i had completely forgotten how small they start out!!!!!!
He was 10 pounds too so a big boy but was tiny to me. Guess im used to lugging a toddler around now
Was a bit of a shock actually holding a newborn again but made me even more super clucky if that's possible :D
-
Fingers crossed for you Kell. Hope it's your month!
JM - Hope Baloo gets better quickly. It is just awful when they're sick and miserable.
Sorry for my vent in here before too guys, should've really typed it out in the boo hoo room, but got distracted and over tired too.
Corelly x
-
Nah Corelly, vent away in here i say!
-
Corelly - yeah vent away! Hate those toxic relies:shakehead: Hope bubs is well soon. Go your DH! Not many people actually do that. Did it make him feel better?
Kell - fingers crossed for you this month;)
JM - Hope your bubs is better too.
AFM - T has been out of sorts since we went to hospital. She has had the worst nappy rash and runny poos. Hope she didnt get some horrid bug in that filthy place! Fair dinkum it was really dirty in there. Kell - what do they teach nurses re asepsis these days?
I'm still on sick leave and this is the first day I could say the energy is coming back a bit. We will walk to the shops now.
My Dad just returned from 7 weeks in the UK. Picked him up last night. I hope he is less anxious and annoying! Corelly - I wish I could cut him out of our lives sometimes too - he is a very difficult, demanding and intrusive/controlling man and wants to come over all the time.
Hey my emoticons are working again!!!!!!
-
SP - I hear what you're saying about your dad. For us it was a decision DH made and it was on the back of a lifetime of emotional abuse for him. For me, well, she hated everything about me that I couldn't change - I am Australian (yep going back to convicts on one side even), and I have divorced parents. The fact that my parents get along makes it worse because she couldn't fathom that - you stay together no matter what and if they can get along, then surely they can live together. We were always the "talking point" at each joint family function, but not because my parents hated each other, but because we know how to behave. Go figure. Anyway, its a story for another day and another time if one day it gets the better of me and I type it all out!!!!
- I'm sorry T is sick and hope all the bugs leave you soon.
Thanks JM and Kell too.
Hey, saying the obvious here, but we do have a nice bunch of people in here :)
Corelly x
-
Corelly sorry about your MIL, i have the same kinda problem but it's with my Aunties.
Apparently i ruined my Mums life when she become pregnant with me at the age of 40. She should of been making herself a wonderful life but i came along & stuffed it all up. The have blamed me for years like it was my fault!
My Mother has never seen me as a mistake tho, before she got really sick she used to write i was a gift from God because i saved her life.
I only found her journals last years but it made me smile knowing she never blamed me for how crummy things got.
Now she's in a nursing home with Dementia & i'm the only one who sees her, Some family i have.
Jane hope Baloo is feeling better, when are you heading back to Oz next?
Kell fingers crossed that this is your month.
Hi to everyone else.
Had my iron infusion yesterday, can't wait till i have some energy back. On the bright side my meds seem to be working & my U/C is going back into remission.
Kodi is doing well the bruising & bump has gone but she still has the blue line of glue. Looks cute tho!
-
Hey everyone!
It's been a bit crazy around here.
*Been away to visit my sister and send off my parents on their overseas trip
*It was my b'day a few days ago and now I'm an old fart like Mo ;)
*we have pretty much decided that we're going to stay up here until DP gets a job and when this happens we will start TTC#2
*busy making engagement party invitations atm which is doing my head in because I'm a perfectionist
*We've started DD on ventolin today after umming and aahing the last week for her possible asthma so hopefully it helps her cough even if it isn't asthma
What's with all the sick bubs? We all seem to be going through it atm
I've tried to read back the last 2 pages so I apologise if I miss anyone
Mo - Good to hear that K's head is healing well - it didn't look very nice. That is horrible that your family would blame you for something that is completely out of your control. I have great relationships with my immediate family, but parent's families are completely different stories. It really makes me wonder how brothers and sisters can turn out to be complete opposites and how some people can be so underhanded and nasty. I am really happy for you that your health is improving again. I bet you need your energy running around after the girls all day :)
Corelly - Sorry to hear about your MIL. At least you know that you are doing the right thing for your family and protecting them right now and your DD can decide if she wants a relationship with her when she's old enough to decide for herself. Although from the sounds of it she probably won't want to know her! Did you enjoy being back at work apart from getting sick? Has your boss asked you to come back yet?
SP - I've been thinking of you and am pleased to hear that your energy is starting to come back. Do you have a defined period of sick leave before you have to go back to work or is it whenever you feel well enough?
Kell - Good luck and fingers crossed for this month! I had cuddles of a month old bubba at playgroup the other week and I was the same, he was so tiny and seemed so fragile
JM - Hope Baloo is feeling better soon and isn't kind enough to spread her germs to the rest of you. Haven't checked out your blog for a while *toddles off to check it out
JF - How is Immy going with her walking? I can't remember how long it took for Alexandra to favour walking from her first steps, wasn't long though, maybe a week? I would love to have play dates if we do end up back in Brisbane, but for the moment I've got my heels dug into the ground. DD was off her food and was wanting boobie heaps but has calmed down a bit since and is back to her gobble guts self again. One thing that I've done to increase A's food intake is to give her a few of her super favourite meals for either lunch or dinner for a few days in a row ie. Spaghetti, pea and ham soup with bread, risotto. Maybe you could try that with Immy
-
Mo - Glad to hear that Kodi's wound is disappearing and that your meds are working. Hope it all continues for you.
FW - I enjoyed work, but it made me realise just how much I love being at home IYKWIM. My mum loved having DD and so did DH so it was nice for all. Especially nice was the day I came home, DD looked at me and said "Mummy!" and looked straight at my mum and said "Bye Bye". Poor mum!!!!!! I haven't seen my boss yet, going in at the end of next week to pick up my pay. She's still away at the moment.
SP - Forgot to answer the other day - yes, DH telling his boss where to stick it did make him feel heaps better, except now the b#$%^&* won't pay him. GRRRRRR> All okay though, we'll fix that tomorrow ;)
And from me - DH has two weeks worth of work that has come in so YAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!! We still have a roof over our heads for now! MIL is continuing to stress us out, getting a mediator to phone DH. So I guess she might consider taking us to court next. We're ready for that though, wrote out 15 pages of things that she has done. Was the most emotionally scarring thing I think I've ever done. DD is almost over her cold, thank goodness. She has started asking for things now, tonight was her bottle, so pretty cool!
Corelly x
-
Corelly - Great news about the job for DH! I hope you find justice with MIL. I feel for you in your battle at present. It can really shake your foundations at times.
Yes this thread has a lot of lovely people in it indeed!!
FW - thank you for the support. I am back at work tomorrow - Blah! Will miss my family but I do feel strong enough now. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Did you get some nice pressies? Enjoy your Engagement planning.
Kell - hope you are having FUN!
Mo - Sounds like a tough journey you walk. I hope you are feeling stronger today (hugs). (still no emoticons?!)
T is improving but nappy rash is still a problem. Got cream via doctor which helped a bit. Not sure if she is reacting to all the cows milk since I weaned her? Would like to try something non cows milk based like soy but dont know which one tastes the best. Any suggestions ladies?
-
Got some bad news about my FIL after some tests it seems he has cancer everywhere - its very sad and overwhelming at the moment. Big surgery planned for him in about three weeks. So haven't been posting much. Im so sad for Ella as she just adores him hopefully he can pull through he is only 60
Yep we did have fun last week in our BD bonaza we tried our best so hopefully next week we get our BFP that would be great news to cheer up our family.
Dont have much time tonight but will come back in the morning and read everyone's news sorry for the selfish post
-
Oh Kell, that's awful! Hope the surgery goes well. xx
-
Good luck for tomorrow SP! I haven't got my present from DF yet, it better be a good one ;) We have always used paw paw cream for nappy rash and find it seems to work the best. Can't help you on the milk alternatives, I don't really drink any milk at all myself. Poor DD has her father to turn to for milk and fish
Kell - Sorry to hear about your FIL, I hope that the surgery goes well and that they can get most of it out. Cancer is so cruel, I wish they would find a cure already!
Yay for the work Corelly! I am sure that your MIL has done some pretty terrible things but isn't it amazing that she thinks she's not the problem? :shakehead:
We have had some bad health news here too. My dad has deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism in both lungs, I posted a boohoo thread here https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...-embolism.html
On a positive note DD is talking heaps atm. Her favourite word is more. Generally in the context of more food. More, more, mooooooore...lol it's pretty funny
-
That's sad Kell, sorry to hear. :(
SP- My personal opinion is to avoid Soy in babies, well in adults too. Nothing is proven as such, but there is a lot of evidence linking soy to hormonal problems and cancer in women. I would use Goat or rice milk as non-dairy alternatives. I used to get goat cheese from the deli at Plenty Valley. There is a pretty fantastic naturopath in Croydon who does a lot of work with food intolerances. If you ever want his details let me know.
FW- It's great that they picked up your dad PE. I hope he has a speedy recovery.
Corelly- fantastic news on the work. Hopefully it keeps coming.
We're all good here, well Mowgli has Malaria and is a bit sick, hence me being awake at 3am. She is coughing up a storm and thrashing about in my bed so i got up. But other than that things are good. Baloo is getting more amusing by the day. She is talking lots, and giving her sister a run for her money. ;)
My folks have come to visit for 3 weeks so that will nice. Going to try and get some sleep, maybe on the couch?!
-
SP Kodi can't handle normal cows milk but does really well on the A2 stuff :)
Kell so sorry to hear about your FIL
FW welcome to the old fart club lol Sorry to hear about your Dad, hope he gets better quickly.
Jane sorry to hear about L, hope she is feeling better soon  S & K sound so much a like cracks me up when i see K chasing M around the house.
Corelly your MIL sounds like a piece of work & yay for having some work. I'm sure things will only get better now :D
AFU
Kodi split her bottom lip yesterday, she climbed on the computer desk & by the time DF got there she had already fallen.
So now she has a split head & fat lip.
Maddi is doing well, still can't believe my baby will be 3 in 2 months!
-
Oh Mo!!! Far out Kodi is in the wars! Looks like her exploration is only beginning! Hope it all heals quickly.
JM - Sorry to hear Mowgli is sick. Hope all is well soon. When you lived in Melb, where did you live, if you don't mind me asking? Plenty Valley is 10 mins from me, hence my question! Have a nice time with your parents visiting.
FW - Yep it must be a good life when you can treat people like garbage and then call ignorance. I'd like to live in that world sometimes! Not that I'd treat people like that, but you know what I mean?
DD is beginning to make animal sounds which is funny. She thinks "Moo" is hilarious and growls when she sees a pig.
Corelly x
-
Thanks girls for your support you really are a great bunch of girls :D
feeling a bit better today and just hope he can beat it.
Corelly your DD is so smart! and sounds so cute. I really love this age they are getting so clever if not tiring im exhausted by the end of the day lol
Ella has started saying happy came out of the blue was trying to teach her dog ect and she comes out with happy. its so cute!
Kodi is really in the wars inst she. poor bubba with her lip now. wow Maddi going to be 3 what have you got planned and what have you bought her. Do they play well together your girls?
JM - sorry to hear Mowgli is sick. hope shes feeling better soon. might go and check out your blog again
FW- sorry to hear about your dad. hope he gets to enjoy some more of his trip. lucky it hasn't cost him anything. Did it come from his flight?
We use paw paw cream too seems to be the best thing for everything i love that stuff.
Sorry to everyone i have missed
better get off the computer and get something done before Ella wakes up
STILL got 9 days till testing im going crazy!!!!
-
I wish Kodi had a sense of fear but nothing is too high to climb & i guess it doesn't help that Maddi helps her moves chairs/baskets to climb things.
I can see many Drs visits a head of us lol
Kell the girls play great together now well most of the time. Maddi shows Kodi how to dance & she'll sit there and read her books, She'll even grab her finger to point at the apples/balls etc in the book. It's so cute.
We are getting her some DVD's, books, dress ups & dolls. She has become such a girly girl these last few months, not sure if we will have a party or just take her somewhere nice for the day.
Kell are you going to wait the 9 days or test early, i can never wait.
Corelly your DD is very clever & she sounds so cute!
SP i forgot to say Moogoo cream is great for rashes, i love the stuff!
-
Hehe to the sibling love Mo.
The other day at work a lady was outside on her phone and her two little girls came in. One looked to be about 3 and the other, maybe 12 months. The little one got into everything, pulled out our eftpos machine cable, pulled out some books and her sister kept saying to me "I'm so sorry about this, I'm so sorry about this." Then she grabbed her sister and said "We have to go now. I have an appointment and then we're going to the movies." I just about wet myself!!!
Thanks for saying too that my DD is clever. We just keep laughing, can't believe what keeps coming out of her mouth. I think I might talk a lot to her  , it can get lonely around here sometimes!
-
I was in Kinglake Corelly. :) Used to shop at plenty valley, or Ringwood if i went down the other side of the mountain. After the fires we moved to Murrindindi and now PNG.
Gees Mo, she's in the wars?!
Sas makes animal sounds too Corelly, it cracks me up. I love making her snort like a pig!
Kel i have everything crossed for you. Any symptoms?
-
Goodness, JM. I remember how heavily pregnant I was during the fires, but I can barely imagine how it must have been for you being there. Yuck. It's really pretty there now, all the trees are fuzzy with growth and the black boys and wildflowers that have grown are incredible. Love the snorting like a pig. So funny and cute!
-
Yeah looking back on it now, being very pregnant, homeless, moving house twice and then living with my folks on the peninsula and having hubby working in Yea, 2 hours away was a pretty stressful time for me. Fortunately when i went into labour i called him and he made it down to drive my to hospital with only one speeding ticket. :o Then i ended up living in the middle of nowhere with no friends, family or support within an hours drive. But as bad as the whole thing was it really showed me how amazingly generous and wonderful both friends and strangers alike can be. We didn't have contents insurance but people were so wonderful we ended up ok. It all seems a bit surreal now, i guess because i'm not living there. I have seen a few friends pics of the regrowth and it is looking prettier again.
-
It's incredible what we can do isn't it? The house two doors down from us caught fire, and here I was trying to waddle my way down the street, trying to get through to 000 and handing out my garden hose in that stupid horrible heat. Pure madness!! When DD was born, we were much in the same boat - my mum had left for a six month round the world trip the week before and I only had DH to lean on. Some of the lowest moments of my life happened during those six months, when DD had to have surgery and mum wasn't here, and DH had to be at work. I remember bending down to life DD out of the cot and my back went, and I had to struggle around trying to carry this baby in plaster with a dead back. I'm glad you had some support and could get going again JM.
How's Kodi going Mo? Hope she's let you relax for a couple of days :)
Kell - how's your FIL going? Hope you're okay.
SP - How's everything with you? Hope you're well.
x
-
Jane your an amazingly strong woman, i feel lucky to know someone as strong as you.
Corelly sounds like your another strong person & Kodi has been good no falling off tables for 2 days now, She's off dancing to Britney now so i may update later with a new injury tho lol
Everyone but Kodi is sick, Maddi has a cough & i think i have the beginnings of the flu
-
Gosh a lot has happened in a day or so!
JM - Wow I remember that terrible time so well. Our close friend lost his home and nearly his life. You are a tough cookie for sure! So sorry to hear your DD has Malaria! Hope that resolves without a hitch and soon. You are also brave to move to PNG! A big deal for anyone to do let alone with small children.
Corelly - where do you live? That must have been terrible to be so close to the fire.
Kell - that is sad news. Hugs to you at this time! Thanks for the tip re milk. My DS1 was on rice milk for ages. I'm not sure about using it at this age though.
Mo - moo goo is ace - I use it for excema - but will try for nappy rash too now. What is A2 milk?
FW - paw paw is great but currently not doing the job unfortunately. Sorry to hear about your Dad! Hope your DP gets you something excellent for your bday! Guys can be crap at presents. I usually select mine each year.
AFM - T is missing me being back at work. I am tired and flat. I think the reality of the loss is starting to sink in now. I wish I could try again but have to wait 3 months so a bit frustrated and need to see my ob to check all is well.
-
SP it's a natural intolerance milk, I heard it was good for for people who couldn't handle normal cows milk & didn't want to use soy.
So i tried it for K & it works great even Maddi has a better tummy after switching to it.
Corelly K was on her rocking horse earlier & of course she was riding it so hard she almost tipped it over, thank goodness the couch was there to stop it completely tipping.
-
Mo - I think maybe we should buy Kodi some knee pads and maybe a helmet :P Maybe I should be thankful that DD isn't walking yet! Thanks for the comment about me being strong, I do try, but fail!!!!!!
SP - I live in Mernda. The fire that came close to us was started in Plenty Gorge, and was about 1km from us. The fire that started at the house a couple of doors up is believed to have been started by the clever person who lives there, throwing a cigarette butt into the mulch in his backyard. It lit the fence and the same fence continues along the houses towards ours and from our fence we have decking to our back door so I frantically rushed around with wet towels etc. It wasn't until later that I remembered that one of the houses between us has their alfresco area blocking the fence - ie, a brick wall. DOH and DUH!!! DH is in the CFA so we spent a lot of time at the fire station that week, having bbqs and keeping everyone's spirits up. The amount of people who cooked food and brought it to the station was so amazing. It's horrible to have such a situation for the kindness of strangers to come out, but it was so nice to see. I hope work gets easier for you and also that the next three months passes by in a blur.
Well I have a confession......I'm not ready for another baby now, but I know I want another one. What am I doing to myself!!! :D
Corelly x
-
I wrote a long post yest and then lost it so i turned the computer off as i was annoyed so back today to try again with losing the lot hopefully :)
Yah Correlly sounds awesome are you going to start trying soon - so exciting!!
Mo sounds like Kodi is a little daredevil she will have you on your toes :-)
SP - hope the three months goes quick and you can start trying again. sorry again for you loss it really does hurt alot i still think about mine and what could have been.
What strength you ladies have you are amazing. JM that must have been so tough in the fires and Corelly when your daughter was in her brace and everything you must have been through. Im in awe!
No preg symptoms yet hoping its too early. i cant remember any with Ella this early either though. going to test in about a week unless i cave only day 7po so def too early yet. Fingers crossed xoxox
-
Hey this is my 600th post! Wow, that went quick!!!
Kell - hope it's your month hon. We're not planning on trying anytime soon. Financially we just can't do it right now, emotionally, well DH and I are on a bit of a rough path that is getting better every day, but I'd like to be on solid ground. For a long time I didn't know that I wanted to have another baby, but now we have both realised that at some point in our future, yes we do. I have to have surgery before we go down that path, I've got fibroids and they need to be removed before I fall pregnant again, so it's still a way off. The other catch is that I'm 31 this year and don't want to leave it too long. But the short of it is that, nope we're not trying right now. As for the strength thing, well I think we all have it if we need it. We have to get through somehow and we draw on it when we need it.
Corelly x
-
Kell i have my fingers crossed for you :)
Corelly i often think of wrapping her in cotton wool but i don't think she would like that lol
That's great you've decided to have a sibling for your DD, i know it's still a while off but it's exciting!
AFM I just finished another 2 day period, I've never been heavy or had long cycles but there weren't this short or light either.
I know it's not my iron or blood count affecting it & I've got no idea what's going might have to head into the Drs' soon.
-
Cheshire - I think short periods are somewhat common whilst the body readjusts hormonally etc. Still cant hurt to get a check up.
Corelly - Oh you are sooooo old girl! I've got ten years on you you know. Congrats on the 600th post - I seem to be low on number of posts. I guess I dont have time often but I do love the forum.
Kell - Thank you. Good luck.
I always wanted 4 kids with a big gap between the 2nd and 3rd! It is true and old firends remember me saying it when I was 24 and had a 3 and 5 year old. Unfortunately I had a very bad (intolerable) marriage so had to wait to meet a very special man who was Dad material! I soooo found him I can tell you and feel incredibly lucky today. Maybe I will get my wish or maybe I wont but either way I have been blessed big time and cant complain. A 17 year gap was a bit longer than I would have planned mind you but it is working so well! The boys adore their little sister and no rivalry.
-
Mo- i have had two very light periods, lasting 2 days. But pre-preg they only ever last 3 or 4 so i didn't think much of it. Maybe you've got no blood left to bleed. ;) You know i'm just joking! If you are worried, always worth mentioning it to the dr.
Corelly- I'm 32, and i plan on having another 2! I didn't think i was that old. Isn't the average age for first time mums about 30 these days?
SP- That is kind of our plan, 4 with a decent gap between 2 and 3. But who knows! Having said that though the twinges of desire are starting! We'll see how long i can keep a lid on them.
We've been away for a few days, so i need to go and sort out all my washing!
-
Dr said as long as they are regular then it's nothing to worry to about so i feel better now.
lol Jane i thought the same thing last month, which is why i had the blood test. Turns out i'm doing pretty well it was 112 which is high for me.
I'll bbl
-
Interesting to read all the baby plans! None here as I am very much single but who knows in the future, only 22 after all. I don't feel a desire for another right now, one is keeping me so busy and we make a good team, I can't imagine brining another into our groove. Who knows if I'd feel differently if I had another set of helping hands and a stable relationship to welcome them into but for now, its not to be! I did grow up wanting 2 close together... the thought of that now terrifies me so definitely in awe of all who are living that currently!
We are still breastfeeding, I really don't want to lose my easy-to-sleep trick anytime soon and enjoy the added boost to keeping in shape (haha selfish much?) but I am sure she is still getting some sort of benefit too! She definitely wouldn't be happy to stop, she gets grumpy without her milkie fix eeeeek. I'm leaving it for now but if we are still going at two I will be looking to encourage weaning...
We are still at the same walking stage. She rarely takes steps but when she does will walk a good distance. Crawling much preferred so who knows when that will change!
We have a few words starting now and some animal sounds; food, woof, mum and dad but her catch phrase is "who's that" which seems interchangeable for "what's that" too... no idea how that started!
Had DD weighed yesterday, she is almost 16 months and still under 10kg (around 9.8kg). What sort of weights are others? She is still heading up and has always been around the 25th percentile so I guess I shouldn't freak out but its hard not to worry!
That's about all that's going on here! Always good to hear from everyone.
-
JF Kodi weighs around 9kg, but she is still on the same curve so i'm not worried.
I now have 2 sick kids, can't wait till winter is over!
-
Hahaha sorry everyone, I didn't mean to indicate that I felt old at 31!!! Not at all!! My own personal goals was to have kids up to a certain age, that's all :) I don't think any of you are old! Oh boy, I feel like my foot is no longer in my mouth but travelling down my throat!
JF - DD started with "who's that" too. And now she says so much, so look out!!!
DD now looks at our dogs and tells them "Sit" "Stay" and "Go Way". Hmmmm. I tell the dogs to go away a lot when I'm making dinner and they sit at the window and cry at me. Pretty funny when she says it but we've got a mimick all right!
-
 i don't mind even if you think you are old! I was just reassuring you that you aren't. Or may be i was reassuring myself. ?! :p
Mo- i meant to say Lu couldn't have dairy for a long time, except A2, that stuff is great. Wow Mo 112, you must be feel like dancing?! I'd be in bed if mine was 112. I don't know how you manage.
JF- Sas is about 10kgs. What is the average at this age? We're still BF'ing too. Feeding to sleep is my saviour! I'm with you, i love that it helps keep me in shape! :)
-
DD is just under 10kg. We stopped B/F. Hasn't made a difference to my weight, but B/F didn't either. Didn't stop my periods either. So basically B/F was a big win for DD and other than the lovely bonding time and quiet time with DD I missed out on all the added body benefits.
-
K has a throat infection, guess that explains why she is off food my poor bubba.
-
I guess around 10kg is boringly normal then haha!!
Oh no poor K, hope she feels better soon.
