Hiya all,

Just wanted to pop in and reassure missbec that NO - you are not a thread stopper lol!!

And a thank you for the support re - the grrr of a boss I HAD lol. He's 'gone away' now and I'm relieving in his spot (I think he 'lost the plot' and has mental health issues to deal with)...

I am still under the pump at work - I hate waking up and worrying about things I have to do the next day, but I think I may need to start delegating a bit more now. This bump is huge - I'm larger than I ever was with Maddy at 31 weeks - and I'm only 23.5 wks now...Which makes sleeping difficult (cast your minds back ladies)...;)

Remember how small our bubba's were at Easter last year?? Maddy was in 5 x 0 clothes!

I'm just babbling now, sorry - I have a 10am GP check up appt today and with traffic (yes, even in Adelaide) I better get a wriggle on!

M2W - sounds like the lil man is growing up quickly already!!

njd - awww, how cute re - your lil flirt!!! I bet he gets his cheeks pulled often from the old ladies!!

andiE - must be going around. Maddy and I were feeling quite off food yesterday. I'd pick her up and she'd just cry - I put her in the high chair - she'd scream - took her out of it - and she'd still cry. I had bad belly pains so thankfully DF took over! Hope your all feeling better now!

I guess we can put the thread quietness down to running around after toddlers?? ;)

Hi Girls!
Sorry I haven't posted in ages. Time just gets away from me. The only time I can be on the computer is when Flynn is having a nap and I usually do heaps of other stuff first and then he is awake and that is the end of it!!!
So what is news with us?...Ummm. Well Flynn has had a runny nose and has just developed a horrible sounding cough. I had him to the Dr for the 3rd time in a week to be told (for the 3rd time...argh!) he seems fine. That is no temp and ears, throat and chest all clear. He is a bit grumpy and throwing heaps of tantrums/sooking. He also has this horrible rash/eczema which he seems to scratch only if he is upset. He is also cutting some molars :o which I'm quite surprised about they are on the lower gum on the left and the right. It's weird cos he only has the 2 front teeth on the bottom and now these ones with all that space in between! He's not too bad but I am finding it difficult with telling him off all the time His lastest favourite 'toy' is the oven/stove. He managed to turn the gas on the other day and last night while I was cooking dinner he made the flame in the oven turn off but the gas hadn't turned off. ARGHHHHHH. I don't know what to do. He got a smack on his fingers...which is probably useless but it was spur of the moment and I was shocked. 'No, don't touch' doesn't seem to work. If I move him and put him in with his toys he cracks it and ends up screaming which is not fun...argh. On the plus side he is gorgeous and loves dancing, playing peek-a-boo and a find of fetch game with some balls which he has. He is also 'chatting' heaps. We have lots and lots of different sounds which is really cute!
My pg is going well. My back/hip gets quite sore towards the end of the day which is no fun but if I can sit down it feels way better. Sleeping is getting a tad uncomfortable and I feel huge...I don't know how true that is but it sure feels like it!!!
We are thinking about buying a home. Our agents have recently informed us of an increase to our rent and while it is still reasonable for what we have and where we are located, we haven't got any more money and they haven't really maintained the property very well and we don't want to fork over more good money for 'nothing'. So we are looking at land closer to Josh's work and popping a relocatable home on it. Our figures are working out I guess it will be up to the bank and weather we can get the land a bit cheaper than the asking price. I'm a bit excited about it but also apprehensive at the same time.
What an epic this has turned out to be. I've got to go. Sorry I didn't do any personals.

Leesa and Catherine - I can't believe you are both 20+ weeks preggas!!!! That is a nice time in the pregnancy though = well it was for me! Must be exhausting working too!

Will is moving about so quickly and confidently now. He is practically running! It happens so fast. He is so much happier now moving all on his own.

He is cutting his bottom right molar at the moment - he keeps pointing to where it is sore!

Two nights ago I moved him into his own room and stopped BFing at night. I was just too tired. The first night he through the biggest tantrum ever! He screamed and screamed for over one hour. The neighbours commented the next day. They said they had never heard him before but he woke them at 3am!!! A bit embarassing. He woke twice the next night but settled without such a fuss in about 20 mins. Let's hope tonight is better again! He is now in his room in the portacot. I thought we needed something different to completely stopped the constant feeding overnight. I still want to BF but i also desperately need my sleep! So enough was enough and we are having a go no extra feeds. The day before this I fed him 8 times!!!! I am way too soft with him! I will let you know who we go.

People who have been to sleep schools - a few of you went a few months ago - did it make a long term difference? Did it work for you? I would love to hear some feedback about your experiences because I really would like my little man to sleep again!

We went to the sleep school in Jan. Yes there is a long term difference.
The main difference is that he is in his own room in his cot. He falls asleep by himself. With the help of the sleep school I learned to let him grizzle/cry, they would let him grizzle/cry upto 30 mins, I usually go in after about 5 - 10 mins and rewrap him. Most of the time I only have to do this once, sometimes not all, sometimes 2 or 3 times if he is really bad.
I'm not really tucking his arm in anymore just wrapping over it, usually by the time I am out the door his arms are out.
I think the fact that Dp keeps him up for 3-4 hours b/w sleeps has something to do with it aswell. You can imagine how upset he gets when I try to put him down after 2 - 3 hrs so 4 hrs it is :rolleyes:
In saying this he still wakes once or twice overnight (at the moment I am sleeping in his room and the nights I don't he wakes once) Then he wakes up anytime after 6am and is ready for the day.

Thought I'd pop in and say G'day.

Remember on my last post I said I had news, but that it wasn't another baby yet ...?

Well, guess what we got early this afternoon ....

I - we - are utterly stunned as this was completely unexpected. We were going to "officially try" in about August! Having said that, we weren't using contraception as I needed hormonal drugs to help conceive Cam, and I assumed I'd need similar for another conception. Unfortuately I've got absolutely no idea how far along I am, or when I could be due - I didn't really get AF back since before Cam. Thought I had AF 3 weeks ago (very light bleeding ...), but obviously it wasn't. Anyway, we've been digesting this all afternoon - and yes, we're thrilled! I'm thinking that "all being well", I'll be due towards the end of the year/early next. I need to get to a doc to find out!

I did the pg test earlier today because I've felt totally off colour the past couple of days - thought I'd take a test just to rule it out (I was SO sure I wouldn't have been pg). I actually thought I had a touch of gastro again! You can imagine my surprise when two lines came up. After picking myself up off the floor, I took another test just to be sure :lol:. I'm still feeling crappola - I didn't get morning sickness with Cam - on a scale of 1 to 10, it was about a 1, for all of two weeks. This is about a 6 - I feel blurgh, but no throwing up (yet!).

So, looks like I'm joining the "two under two" club! Of course, IRL we'll be keeping this well under wraps until I'm past 12-14 weeks ... but I had to share with you guys.

Time for a few personals ...

Nic - how cute that D is fast becoming a cuddler and kisser! Cam has been a cuddler for a while, but I'm trying to get him to give us kisses. Sometimes I think he might be, but then he might just be taking the opportunity to slobber on my face instead ;). Good to hear things have settled down with D's sleeps.

M2W - what a relief for you that Will is happy and settled at daycare. Hope he is going ok with his tooth - it's not much fun for some bubbas, is it. Don't worry about the neighbours, if they haven't been through it themselves, I daresay they might one day! Good luck with him sleeping - I've been fortunate to have a good sleeper, so I can't offer much help.

Leesa - glad to hear you and your growing bubba are keeping well. Take good care of yourself and take it easy! Glad to hear your nasty boss has disappeared for a while!

CM - I so understand our DS's fascination with ovens. My boy is always turning the clock/alarm button on. Thankfully it's difficult to turn ours on, so Cam hasn't worked it out. Glad to hear you are keeping well too. Gosh, you don't have long to go, do you! How exciting! Good luck with buying a house - it's a big step, but so worth it in the end.

HI girls, sooooo sorry I have bnne MIA for months and months.... I feel terrible, and you remembered Cohen's bday and still wished him a happy one even though I never check in anymore! Your all so sweet!!
I get so cought up in Facebook I never have time to do anything else online after I have finished there.
Are all our babies walking yet?? Cohen started on his 1st Bday! He never ceases to amaze me. Joel and I are trying for another baby. Hope to get a girl this time round. Fingers crossed.

I need some advice on an issue that Cohen is having...I still feed him during the night. 1-2 feeds depending....If his teeth are giving him pain he'll have as many a 4 or 5!! :o I don't know what to do. I am sooooooooooooo SICK and TIRED of waking up during the night!! O.V.E.R IT!! it's been going on over a year now. Sometimes he will wake up, have 200ml only to wake up 40 mins later for another 150ml! :wall: :wall: Don't know what to do, should I make him go cold turkey, or tey to phase them out'? If so, how? Or should I offer him water instead, although have tried that and he just cracked it big time. I'm scared because I know it's going to take sometime (whatever it is that I try) and I'm not sure if I'm prepared to loose any more sleep than I already am. HELP???

Re: over night feeds...ummm!! That seems like a LOT of milk! Does he drink much during the day? Has he always done that or is it a new thing? Does he take water if that is all you offer him? I believe that any kind of changes that we try and make to their sleeping (well bed time things anyway) can take the better part of a week to get established. So whatever you try and do be prepared for it to take a while to make it work, and be consistent. I stopped feeding Flynn overnight about the time that I weaned him, purely a selfish reason but I didn't want to be making bottles overnight :redface: I pretty well went cold turkey. Just resettled with the dummy. I don't remember it being that hard...Or maybe I just blocked it out!! Probably doesn't help much.

yeah it is alot of milk!!! and I'm getting sick of it!!! Considering his formula costs $30 a tin and he has gone through 3/4 of it since Thursday!!! AAAAAAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHH!!!
his max when his teeth aren't bothering him is 3 overnight. He doesn't have much during the day. I offer it to him but he isn't interested. He might have 2-3 full bottles but the rest he has about 20 or 30 mls and then he's over it!! He'll eat plenty of food though. Porridge, weet-bix or toast, bananas, bread sticks, biscuits...so on and so on. Pretty much what ever I eat he'll eat too. He LOVES water during the day, won't have a bar of it during the night though :doh:
might just have to go cold turkey and just be there for him to stick it out. I am dreading the no sleep thing though...

Nina, I don't blame you for being over the bottles overnight. I've just recently hit that point where i'm over even the once nightly feed, so I just went cold turkey and resettled him (by that I cuddle and pat Jake to sleep, but what ever you do). He does cry for a minute or two but usually if I get to him quick enough he's still sleepy so he drops off again. It might take a while to get it happening and he will most likely but VERY unhappy about it but if you are consistent it will pay off. At this age he doesn't NEED the feeds, it's more of a comfort thing. Oh and on the bottles during the day.....I could be wrong but with my kids at this age they have all (and Jake is too) been down to having one bottle a day of cows milk (usually before sleep after lunch) and then one at bedtime, so two bottles a day.

HTH, and that's exciting news about TTC :) I'm very excited for you all having the chance to TTC and have more kids ;) My time for that is over but I'm happy for you all and so glad we got to share the journey of pregnancy and birth of one of our kids together.

All is good here....haven't gotten Jake weighed but I imagine he's only 8.5kg, still my tiny tot :) He's a different personality again.....silent but deadly my Mum calls him, :lol:

DH signed a new apprenticeship contract today which is the best news we've had in a long time!!

It?s quiet in our house at the moment. Mick is at work and both kids are in bed, so I thought I would take the opportunity to catch up with all the gossip

WOW ? congratulations Andie, hope the pregnancy is going well so far

Isabella is finally crawling ? commando crawling. She can get up on her hands and knees and rocks but that is it. She has four top teeth and two bottom teeth. I think she is going to be a little witch when she gets older. Isabella was in the bath the other day and she chuck a tantrum and I was dumbfounded. All it was I wanted was for her to sit up so I could wash her hair and she wanted to lie down. In the end, she didn?t get her hair washed.

Riley went to the speech therapist and she was really impressed on how much his speech has improved since she saw him in February. He is talking like a 2 year old instead of a 3 year old but we are getting there. He is also seeing a psychologist as we are having him assessed and they are also testing him for a spectrum of Autism and the reason we are having him assessed is because the paediatrician thinks that where Riley is going to preschool is not stimulating him enough. We need to get him into a preschool from three and up instead of a long day, day care centre where he goes to school now. The preschool that I want to get him into is booked up till next year.
We are also toilet training Riley. We started a week ago and we take it day by day. Today was a good day but yesterday it wasn?t so good. Mick put Isabella on the potty today, she did a wee, and she has done a poo on the potty as well. Normally she poos around lunchtime to Mick decided that he would feed her lunch on the potty so it was going in one end and coming out the other.

YAY ? we are finally can start building (again) today week. Its about bloody time. Its been dragging on forever. We brought a dishwasher back in September thru kleenmaid and guess what ? they have gone into receivership. Kleenmaid was holding onto the dishwasher for us till the house was built and now its looks like we have lost our dishwasher. NOT IMPRESSED.



If you don?t mind me asking Nina ? why haven't you put him onto cows milk? I think you either give him water thru the night or let him cry it out and you may have a sleepless night or two. I how that might sound harsh but the milk is just a comfort thing for him

Hi all - gee, it's been quiet in our thread, hasn't it? Must have something to do with active toddlers keeping us busy ;).

I don't really have time for personals - we've got an open home tomorrow morning and I've been procrastinating half the day about getting stuck into housework :rolleyes: - but I just wanted to say a big thank you for all your messages of congratulations.

Everything seems to be going well, but compared to my easy pg with Cam, I'm not feeling the best - constantly fatigued, off-colour and ridiculously bloated (I do NOT remember that from last time!). Sorry, I'm whingeing. I'll get over myself soon! Thankfully DH is being sympathetic and helping out where he can.

Cam's got an ultra snotty nose but isn't too bad otherwise. He's just waking from his second sleep of the day - he's always mega-tired on Fridays. Three days of daycare certainly takes its toll on him in that regard. He's walking more and more and every day seems to walk further. He's so proud of himself, it's very cute to see.

Arrrgh. The housework is calling. Wish us luck that a potential buyer comes through tomorrow. We knocked an offer back last week - the guy apparently thought we'd be prepared to give the house away for a song! And naturally the real estate agent did her level best to talk us into selling. Pffffft. We've only had one open home, so fingers crossed tomorrow does the trick.

Congrats ANDIE.

WE will NOT be having another one anytime soon. If ever. E is a bit of a handful at the moment. But Ican't blame him, we did take him to the other side of the world and have him travelling for 24 and 28hours. At hte moment and when we first got there he was waking during the night and would not resetlle and would jsut squeal and get very upset. Our first night there I was up from 330am and would not resettle and was walking him in the Lobby at 530 as he was making so much noise. I gave up trying to get him to resettle and we started the day. This am he was up from 5am after being awake at 1-230. I have a cold still, have been sick most of the holiday. WE did have a good time though. It was a bit challenging to say the least.

We went to a sleep school and it has made a difference. I know he is being a horror at the moment but once he settled down he was waking 1-2 a night or going from 11-5/6am. HE settles well too. Torrens House in Adelaide is different as they don't do any CC but htey do allow the child to cry with you there. Active settling. Look at the KAritane website for tips. Or the Child and youth health page. They run the sleep school and we followed the routine strictly and it did help. We are not so strict now and he is sometimes only having one sleep but it is still mainly 2. I was having to feed E 90mins-2hourly overnight to get him to settle, if I tried water it would be about an hour and still not settling. Once I put him on the bottle and at TH he improved, plus he was being wrapped tightly. Try wrapping if you don't already. It does make a differnce. Use a single bed sheet. My motto is 'if they can breathe it is too loose':lol:. To settle E, I will put a hand on his chest to hold him in one spot if needed and jsut tap the cot mattress and shh, as he is not a fan of being patted htough this is changing. You can rock the cot too. Msot of the time now he will self settle with the dummy and his music. We have a glow-worm too which can be good to help stop him crying. If you use a dummy try a night light as maybe he will settle with that if he can see it. E loves his dummy. WE need to wean him off it. HE has it in all the time at the moment. with some breaks but he loves it.

E is not talking much, mum, da, good, go, or sounds like that. HE squeals too. HE can go from screaming to being adorable and flirting in 60seconds. It is quite annoying at times. E also shakes his head. Not walking yet but pulls himself up and sometimes will let go. Goes up onto one knee. He has 12 teeth and I think an eye tooth is niggling, not sure I am not allowed to look.

Anyway I have rambled enough.
