Oh crap..... woke up with a very sore throat this morning.... arghhhh and a bit of a fever too..... going to grab some throat losenges and vitamins while I am out and hopefully it will clear up in time for tomorrow. At least the drive will give me plenty of rest and time to sleep :) so that is a bonus.
Skye - loved the new photos of Jesse - soooo cute.
Well my mum has taken DJ for the morning so we can get stuff done and some time alone which has been good. Managed a good rest in bed this morning as well.

Shell yay on the blender its so easy to just pull an ice cube of food out and heat it up. I have loaded all mine up into those sealable bags. Will happens to love the one vege I loath and nearly throw up at the smell..pumpkin *LOL* yuck. He is loving his solids and has fruit for brunch and veges for tea.He has had apple, pears, pumpkin and farex though not fond of that by itself at all. He also munches pretty hard on a rusk ( yeah I know it says 6 months on the box but he loves it and he was ready)it really seems to give him releif as you can see the whites of two teeth on his bottom gums.
Cant wait for the playpen to arrive he rolled so close to the heater this mornign it freaked me I was there but he rolled and rolled thinking he was hilarious and then rolled again and was too close fo rmy liking.I dont want to use it all the time but there are times of the day when I need to do stuff and he is awake. He got up on his knees last night after backign himself up against the wall he pushed back and hard donw on his hands and he lifted it was a funny sight as he didnt knwo what he was doing...god help me I Hope he doesnt crawl too soon.

Thats OK Bron.
DH has always wanted an American Pit Bull, but there's no way I'll have one with the kids. If these pups are anything like their mother they'll be good kids dogs.
She is such a sook. Really placid & loving. Only problem we have with her is that she's big & dopey. She knocks the kids over too easily. She's good though.
She's a big lanky legged thing that could easily jump our 3 foot fences, but she's never tried.
We lost a pup this morning. Poor thing was looking iffy yesterday & was a bit away from the others, so I put it in with the rest, hoping it'd be ok, but Anth went & checked this morning & the poor little thing was gone. Anth said to grab a plastic bag & put it in the bin, but I couldn't. I wrapped him in an old jumper instead.
The girls were a bit upset, but there are still 7, so they got over it pretty quick.
I'm dead against having dogs inside, but I'm very tempted to bring them in. I reckon it was the cold that got him. I don't wanna lose any more. I dunno.
The ILs didn't make it either. FIL is a boss at a big company in Dubbo & has a mechanic working there. He works on the trucks, but is supposed to be a car mechanic as well. He talks like he knows everything, but I've always wondered.
Anth used to work there too, & every time I pulled up to see him, the mechanic was the first to come say hello. He was always wondering around doing nothing.
Anyway, MILs motor in the car had to be replaced, so FIL got the mechanic to help him.
They made a few mistakes along the way, but had it all ready to go eventually. FIL got in to start it up & the clutch wouldn't go in... That was the only part the mechanic did alone.
Apparently its either the wrong one, or he didn't do it properly.
Anyway, poor FIL was in there til 2am this morning trying to sort it out, then was back in there at 7am to get it done.
He's spewing. He was looking forward to coming over & is very tempted to sack the mechanic. He thinks that if he can stuff that up so bad by trying to bodgey it, he could be doing it to the trucks too. He's not impressed!

WELCOME BACK PRAMA!
And yes it is cold!! Well bl00dy freezing are the words I'd use!
-
I would bring the puppies in but i have an inside dog and cat (would probably let the horse in too if it was here ) Everyone is different though, what about laundry or garage?
We have a staffy and so many people ask my why i would get a vicious dog when i have children and it really really really pi$$es me off they are NOT vicious and there are cases where a staffy has bitten or attacked but it has more to do with the owner. Our dog is the most loving protective loyal friendly dog ever she is so placid that she plays with the cat and usually gets beaten up by him.
I think i have 4 sick kids :( Codie is meant to be going to Bathurst in the morning going to be very very cold so contemplating letting her stay home i always regret it though cos they end up feeling much better then driving me crazy.
Welcome back Prama it is so cold in the mornings not the best welcome hey?
Bron Summer loves rusks too she chomps them down to a little nub.
No sleep last night Summer woke up all blocked up and snuffly that many times i think i need a nanna nap today.

Trina - We had a staffy a few years ago. Chubbs. He was beautiful, but we had to give him away. We had to move into a flat & having him with no yard to run in isn't fair. Where he lives now he has his own bedroom!! He's so spoilt.
I get the same comments all the time. Got them about both dogs. Chubbs was born & bred to kill according to a car sales man. He obviously never had a staffy! The prob with Chubbs was that he was too friendly! The number of people who brought him home. One guy asked if we wanted to sell him, I was suprised he didn't just take him! He followed him home.
When we did offer Chubbs to him though the wife wouldn't let him.
Why are they going to Bathurst? They must be mad! its way too cold. It'd be freezing there. I hate keeping Jaz home too. She always seems perfectly healthy once school has started.
Damn Snugglers nappies. Never again. I had to redress Jesse 3 times last night coz they leaked. Going to buy Huggies today. Not impressed.
BTW - I moved the puppies onto a blanket & into the old shed down the back, then sorta propped the blanket around them.
Jesse is being a pain! He's very easily distracted while feeding now & comes off every time he hears something. Usually getting the milk spraying first, little bugger!

We had a beautiful day here yesterday but have to admit its pretty crappy today. Why is Codie coming up Trina? is she doing the whole gold field thing?
My boy moved into his cot yesterday and went so well I didnt sleep so much last night as I was abit worried..he slept thorugh though so nohting to worry about *L* typical. He is loving sitting in the highchair too helping me with dinner ;-) well banging all the utnesils about after he has gummed them to death.
Our place is just chaotic atm with mum and dad building their new house..the frames have arrived and there is absolutley no room left int he back yard and the noise is driving me nuts. When the dug up the side of the house to put in the gas line they disturbed an ants nest..every single morning for the last week I have had about 1000 ants on the floor in the kitchen when I wake up they went thorugh all the cutlery draws and even got in the microwave ( good excuse to clean everything ) I have put ant kill everywhere and it works but they come into the kitchen and then die the little buggars. It makes me feel so dirty :-(
Hey Prama welcome home I bet it was great to see Steve and sleep in your own bed
Trina I can understand you getting ****ed off as most people who have staffies have beautiful dogs. I saw a cross bred rip another dog apart and then go the owner when he tried to pull his dog off and it terrified me just one of those rarer experiences I guess. We dont really have any room for a dog atm and as much as hubby says he would take it for a walk I know I would end up doing it and the poor thing would end up neglected. I bet your dog is agood protector when you are at home all by yourself. Maybe when the hosue is finished and we have abit of a yard back and WIll is older we will get one.
Got to go my boys is awake and have some girlfriends coming for mornign tea.
Have agood day

It's the year 5 excursion that pub schools do, she is panning for gold and has a full busy schedule she is going to be exhausted by the end.
I have Tahnie home, DH and i said nobody is staying home unless they have a temp and of course Tahnie had one we were kind of thinking she was just wanting a day off. She has been on the couch all morning and Summer is propped up in bed having a decent sleep. *was having a decent sleep is now awake* geez i should shut up sometimes....
Ants are a pita Bron they get everywhere and into everything. Some staffies are not dog friendly or cat friendly and when they fight they want to rip them apart but we socialized Daisy with other dogs and she gets on with the cat and guinea pig (although she probably wouldn't hesitate eating the guinea pig for a snack if left alone with it) So many young guys (not meaning to stereotype) encourage their dog to bark at or have a go at other dogs and that's what encourages them to want to fight IMO.
Skye yep Daisy is spoilt she sleeps on Codie's bed, even when locked in the bathroom Codie will wait until we are all asleep in bed then go get her, but she is bathed regularly even has her own doggy deodorant.
Off to the shops..

SJ I only have one lou lous night nappy. I found that BBH (wool cover or longies) with both inserts and a microfibre booster will hold for most nights. The only time I have leaks now is if he wakes up for two feeds during the night. He of course has been doing this lately and it's freezing in Perth.
Shell I haven't tried goats milk but I found that if I put cream on 3-4 times a day it helps heaps. I think the key for Paddy is not to let his skin dry out. Hope you're feeling better.

The damn fridge blew up now!! What next!
No car, no wash/mach, no fridge & no money!!!
NOT HAPPY!
Shell - Was DJ in pain pooing when he was constipated? Jesse's having problems now & the poor things crying in pain. No more weetbix for him.
-
Well I think the fridge is fine. Anthony just doesn't know what he's talking about.
-
Summer was really really badly constipated i had to get infant coloxyl liquid, she was in so much pain when i changed her nappy she would try and push it out but it would only come out a little then go back in (sorry tmi) it took a good 5 days to clear it out and now she is going every day. She was cranky and in lots of pain and kept trying to push and going bright red.
-
I worked out what his problem was. He's not constipated, just hasn't actually had to DO a poo before. Normally he farts & poos with it. Since starting solids its still soft, but not watery like it was. Anyway, he's never had to PUSH a poo out. Thats all that was wrong! Lol!!
-
Welcome home Prama! Must have been freeing for you - what a shock from the weather you would have been having.
Humm not going to do to many personals as i dont know how long MJ will be quiet for lol
Started solids Friday evening the baby led way -
Jo i understand why you couldnt... its messy as, but i love it, i wll post some pics when i get round to it.
So far she has eaten
Floret of Broccoli (she actualy has had quet a few, she loves them)
stick of cheese
Rock melon
Stawberry
scrambled egg (not too impressed with that)
Vegemite on toast
some of the filling of my homemade chicken pie
pumpkin
golden kewi fruit
weetbix
She loves the veggies the most, followed by the cheese and the fruit :) it is very very messy and although she wears most of it, she must be getting a bit in as its coming out the other end. (like loads and loads!!!)
Those that have had constipated babies, do you give them farex? apparently this is likely to bind them up as it has added iron... Yeah J looked funny 'pushing' out her first food poo!!!
was going to say heaps more, but forgotten, havent slept much, DSS wet the bed (again) last night and woke me up stripping his bed... its starting to get to me again, trying hard to just not say anything tohim about it, but i could do without the extra washing :(
Skye sorry to hear about the washing mach... hope the fridge is OK... If its not, maybe you could discrbe the problem and i could get DH to tell me what is wrong with it etc
Teach - thinking of going to Perth for the Redbull air race... south Perth, can you recommend anywhere to stay or surrounding suburbs to look - i thinking apartment style due to MJ... thanks
will come back and write more when i reemeber, soory
Hope everyone else is well
-
Hi SJ. Your poor DSS. How old is he again? I know people who wet the bed right up til they were 18 coz of their home lives.
My old boss took in her DSD coz the poor kids mum left her on the side of the road & rang them up & told them to go get her. She was only 9 then. She wet the bed til she was about 12. They tried an alarm thing & everything else they could think of. She used to heve to get up & wash her hair everymorning it was that bad.
It comes down to the child feeling secure I think. I know its hard though. Jaz still does it occasionally. Usually every 2 - 3 months. She is getting longer between though. I get the sh*ts with her too. Its hard not too.
Maybe if you & DH just reassure him more than usual that you both love him & make him feel more secure it will settle down. I know its hard when his mother is only going to make him feel the same when he gets home.
I just wanna give him a big hug & tell him it'll all be ok.
I think the fridge is ok. It wasn't making any noise at all, but I've never paid much attention to it. Anth seems to think its fine now though. So I'll just take his word for it. Everythings still cold.
Jesse is loving vegemite sandwiches & has worked them out, but gets really huge bites of other things & gags on them alot. I'm slowly introducing banana - its too slippery for him to hold yet - & other things, but I'm giving him a bit of mashed vegies at tea & fruit for brekky with a spoon til he gets the hang of it.
Anyway. Better get down to the bus stop before I miss it!

I made some home made babyfood tonight. Carrot, sweet corn, cauliflower & a few peas all blended with the barmix. I really want a food processor, I think it would be easier to use one of those instead of a barmix.
Jazz was really grissly at day care today. Over the weekend and again today she decided that if an adult wasn't giving her 100% attention she would scream. She wasn't interested in the other kids like she normally is. She just wanted the FDC lady to be with her constantly. I hope this doesn't continue. She's usually fine around all the kids.
I wonder is she is going through another wonderweek. She gets really grissly and sleeps less during the day when that happens.
She's really trying to sit up but definately can't sit unsupported. I have to keep my hands near her back to catch her.
