Grr! Jazz was terrible last night. We couldn't get her to sleep until about 11pm, then she woke up at 3am. Matt changed her and fed her and then she wouldn't go to sleep again until after 5am! I was laying in bed trying to get back to sleep the whole time but couldn't. I got up at 7am for work and am wrecked this morning. She used to be such a good sleeper but now she's not and I don't know what to do! I need her to go to sleep at 8pm at the latest again so i can get daycare stuff done and get to bed at a reasonable time myself.

poopy woke up at 11pm and i'd pat him to sleep and as soon as i put him in his cot, he'd scream and cry. tried that a few times, then i thot i'd cuddle him in bed till he was sound asleep and then put him in his cot, but then i fell asleep... and this is the first time in ages he slept thru the night and i was too tired to pick up and put him back in his cot. but im not going to amke a habit of putting him in bed...

There have been many times I've thought about bringing Jazz into our bed but I'm so scared to. She moves a lot in her sleep as does Matt. I'd be worried she would get too hot or when she rolled over she'd end up suffocating in our pillows or something. We'd most certainly have to put the cat outside otherwise he would decide to sleep on top of her I'm sure.
Also, my uncle & aunty used to co-sleep all the time with their youngest and she was a nightmare to babysit coz she was so clingy and would scream for hours if she wasn't being held while she slept and would scream and grab you so tight there would be bruises if you tried to put her in her cot...this was only at about 8 months old. I babysat her over night a couple of times and hated the clingyness so after that I always made up excuses not to babysit. I don't want to put someone else through that.
The other reason I'm scared of co-sleeping is that some people say it increases the risk of SIDS. When I was 6 months old I had a 3 month old cousin who died of SIDS. I don't think my aunty co slept with her though, but considering I've heard there is a higher risk it puts me right off doing it.

Maybe when she is 2 or 3 I might occasionally allow her to share out bed, but not before then if I can help it...even if she might sleep better. Maybe I should talk to Matt and see what he thinks.

    Afternoon girls,

Prama - most definitely we will have to organise something soon and yeah hopefully the boys will have a tooth or two, but I doubt DJ will, his gums must be very stubborn haha The week without Doni hasn't been too bad, it is only 3 nights this week which isn't as bad. He is just grizzling coz he is teething........Oh bugger on Steve being away for most of the month. We should organise to catch-up while he is away. And yeah hope Dj's cough goes away as well, it wakes him up if he is sleeping.
Good to hear headache is better.
HAHA yeah I can't wiat to see piccies....

Better go sorry girls, DJ is whinging.....

Jazz has a bit of hayfever at the moment, the puffy eyes and runny nose poor dear. I gave her some nurofen this morning for it. I think that's the only thing I can do. She woke up at 5am and wouldn't go back to sleep so I brough her into our bed for just over an hour so I could try to get a bit more sleep. I didn't end up falling asleep until about 6am and then Jazz woke up at 6:20am.

She said Mum for the first time this morning while Matt was holding her. It was so clear too! I think it's funny how she said dad for the first time while I was holding her and mum for the first time while Matt was holding her. I wasn't in the room but I did hear it thankfully. She was so proud of herself but got all embarressed when we were making a fuss about it.

DJ is sick again!!! arghhhh He didn't sleep very well coughing and runny nose, diarrohea and wasn't breathing very well. Doctor gave me some antibiotics as well as script for dimetapp (that is the best stuff) and told me I can increase his ventilator puffs from 4 to 6 if I need to. I don't think it helps much but at least he now opens his mouth for it so he must be used to it. He is pretty happy though so that is a good thing. decided to work from home today so I can be with him. It was a good excuse to go for a sleep with him as well, I was so tired from lack of sleep last night. at least Doni is home tomorrow night

Danni - I think DJ suffers from hayfever, but I can never tell the difference between a cold and hayfever allergies..... Doni has hayfever too.

Ok girls, better go talk soon

I'm fairly sure it's hayfever. matt gets bad hayfever too and Jazz looks the same as he does when he's having an attack.

Dropping her off at my parents at dinner time tonight and then we are off for the weekend. Can't wait! Been cleaning the house up so that it's nice when we get home on Sunday night and also coz it was a mess and Jazz will be mobile soon and we'd like to give her the opportunity to try and crawl around but the floor was far too dirty for that. Now the lounge is tidy and I'll vacuum when she wakes up.

He obbsessed with the kitchen too he loves the lino so gets double dirty. I am not too fussed as figure he cna have abth and thankgod for napisan *L*. He did have his first crash after following me out of the fornt screen door ( which I was sure I had closed when I went to the mail box) he pushed it open and went straight down the step. DJ got himself off our lounge and onto the floor and didn't even hurt himself at all this morning. I was like what the?! Doni said he kind of rolled off but landed well haha It is so funny watching him crawl. He goes backwards and sideways really well, but forwards he just doesn't do too well..... We put him on his knees now so he can play with his laugh n learn table and he loves that

    Hope you are all well.

We are off for a picnic with friends, so better get organised.

Apparently Jazz slept all night on Saturday night (10pm-about 8am). Guess what, she did it again last night! Fell asleep on me at about 8:30, I put her in her cot at about 9:00 and she slept until I got her up at 7am so we could get ready for work/daycare.

I'm a bit worried now though, Last weekend we were at my uncle's 50th birthday and his grandson has just come out in spots this week...chicken pox. I don't think he was near Jazz but she got passed around so much that he could have been. I hope she doesn't get it. I guess I'll know in the next couple of weeks.

    Hi everyone...

Its so much harder to get onlne now with a crawler!!!

PMSL Bron - nothing like a white wondersuit to show your cleaning up - i was horrified!!! we have floorboards and lino throughout so yet its really bad and i am mopping every day now!

Had a scare yesterday, we were finishing the baby proofing and DH's snowborad slipped and fell on MJ, luckily it only caught her hand, but had the edge fallen with ful force onto her hand it could have sliced it off... whould hate to think what would have happend if it hit her head - well i did think of it and cried and cried...
Needless to say thats away now and there is heaps of moving things....

Danni - glad you have a great weekend away, a break always does you good (we need one here)

OH yeah, git my tax done and got a refund woo HOO, i was expeting a bill so that was great...
figured out that i will be getting the $1000 in december so that will be great too - means that we will have a nice christmas and will be getting a camping holiday hopefully

Hope all is well with everyone else.
    Take care

I've started uploading some photos from my trip.

We rearranged the lounge room back to the way it was before Jazz was born. There should be more room for her to play now and it looks more open again. We did a lot of tidying up on Friday before we went away so we can start baby proofing. The loungeroom floor has been vacuumed so I'm letting Jazz go on her belly on the carpet to practice moving around. Yesterday she got up on her knees but just rocked back and forth and side to side.

Ah Huh! I think I know why Jazz has been so difficult the last couple of weeks! I was just doing a bit of research and remembered about wonder weeks. What did I find out: Approx 36 weeks is one of the "wonder week" times. Jazz is about 35 weeks. I think she's starting to settle down now so I should see a big change with her soon I think...maybe she's about to start crawling!

We have had a busy week but managed to stick to the new routine pretty well and it is working!

I set the alarm for 7 am and get up and give Caitlin her first bottle (sometimes she is awake already and sometimes we have to wake her up). She then plays on her mat for an hour.
8am we give her breakfast. (she has started refusing most of her solids now, all I can get her to eat is Yoghurt, Cantaloupe, Waterlemon, Cheesy Pops & Pureed Apple, Pear and Apple & Mango). She is not having the 2 courses as recommended but the routine is still working.
9.20am - She goes down for her first sleep. She usually falls asleep within 10 minutes and sleep from 30 to 60 minutes.
11.00am - Bottle (because she is eating less solids, I have upped her bottle to the next level which works out at 220ml. Out of 4 bottles she will drink 220 twice and the other 2 bottles she usually drinks about 180.
12.00pm - Lunch - whatever I can get into her.
1.20pm - Bedtime - falls asleep within 10 minutes and sleep from 40 minutes to 2 hours, averages about 1hr though.
When she wakes from sleep she gets a bottle.
5.00pm - Dinner (again whatever I can get into her but dinner is the worst meal to get her to eat, she refuses most things I offer including the stuff she likes.
6.00pm - Bath or wash (only bathing her every 2nd day)
    6.30pm - Bottle
7.00pm - Bed - Most nights she goes straight down but occasionally she has been fighting it and doesn't go down until 8pm but even when it is 8pm we still get some time off.

I have gone out a couple of times when it is her sleep time and she will fall asleep easily in my arms or in the pram - its magic!

We had a wedding on Saturday and left Caitlin with a friend and although she cried a little at bedtime she went down without too much fuss.

We had her Baptism on Sunday and during the ceremony (right at her scheduled sleep time) she fell asleep in my arms and didn't even wake or flinch when they poured the water on her head! It was so cute, she was out cold!

Caitlin started crawling properly (very slowly though) yesterday and she finally started saying mumma today although when she did say it she screamed it because she was stuck somewhere - it will be nice when she says it nicely.

SJ - When we catch up, you should come over to my place and then the girls can crawl around together and play! Sounds like MJ was lucky with the snowboard - it just shows you how many things in our houses could cause them harm. Scary really.

Prama - Welcome home! Back to the real world!

Danni - Glad you had a nice weekend away.

Shell - Caitlin tries to launch herself off our bed to get things on the side table. I think they must think they can crawl on air. At least DJ landed well and didn't hurt himself - hope he is feeling better also.

Bron - Will sounds like a machine! He must be going to be an outdoorsie boy! I know what you mean about thinking your floors are clean - I don't have time to mop and sweep them everyday so I think I am just going to be soaking all of Caitlin's clothes for a bit until she is walking! (which I am not wishing will come too soon though!)

Better go, Mark is complaining that I am not giving him any attention!

Jo, Great routine. I want to get some routine happening when I'm at home. She's got a routine of sorts at daycare and I try to have one on the weekend. Matt has no routine with Jazz on Fridays when he has her, he gets a little stressed but manages. He does keep forgetting to give her solids though...even though I put them out and ring him to remind him.

Last night I was changing Jazz's nappy (a time when she babbles the most) and she was laying there going "ma.......ma" a few times but then there was lots of "dadda" She's started saying "dadda" with her tongue out so it sounds a bit more like "labda" sometimes
