 Imran bit my boob!!! Naughty little monkey - I hope he doesn't do it again.
LOL Dach - sorry, I know it's not funny.. I've been bitten too! but your post made me laugh!
Well - our sleeping problems now include the fact that he's rolling himself over all the time now, and sitting up - even when he's asleep - and this wakes him up! *sigh*. LOL. So I think we're in for a couple of nights now of him working out that he can move around and stay asleep! Oh well.
Gotta go, mr crankypants wants me.
Hi girls!
Sorry I've been so slack, had HEAPS of work in the last busy period to Xmas but all seems to be going quiet now so I'll be back to getting my BB fix on a daily basis!!
LOL Dach at Imran biting your bb. Lucy hasn't done that to me yet, although she did have a nibble on my shoulder a couple of months ago. Her 2nd tooth just came through on the weekend, or at least, that's when I first noticed it. Lucy's thing is pinching the skin under my arm when she's falling asleep or feeding. Ouchies! She's decided crawling is not anywhere near as much fun as standing, so she pulls herself up on everything, even the wall. The steps are starting to come so I think she'll be like I was as a bub and walking by 10 mths.
Liz - Lucy has been the same when she wakes up during the night, although not really any trouble to get down. I figured it was developmental 'cause it started so suddenly and has almost stopped completely now. Hearing her call out to me when she didn't settle quickly was annoying and heartbreaking all at once! I don't leave her to cry either, I hate the idea she's alone in her cot in the dark and doesn't know where I am. All she wants is a little cuddle and she's fine... All I want is a little more uninterrupted sleep, but I guess I'm not the boss here either!
Kas - a huge happy bday to Brad on the weekend! Gosh, it won't be long until Liam's bday either now, just a couple of months. Are you doing something fun with Brad?
Jen - hope Xmas with your family goes well and the morning sickness is easing up for you. Love the Xmas pic, great family shot!
Lucy cut out another bf this morning, the usual 11:15am one. She's ditched her 7am feed in favour of breakfast (one whole weetbix mixed with water and EBM - she must have overheard you, Kas, at the dinner and decided 1/2 wasn't enough!) and now it looks like she's ditching another so she can fit more lunch in. She's such a pig, I have no idea where she puts it all! She eats so many things just like a person now, banana, watermelon, biscuits, corn/rice cakes, sausage, meat, *sob*, where has my baby gone?! I was feeling a little emotional on the drive to work when she didn't want a bf before I left... Much too interested in playing. Don't know how I'll cope when she ditches it all together! Let's hope it's a way off.
Steph - hope you guys have a lovely wedding anniversary. We only have one baby and DTD seems to have taken a complete back seat (haha, no pun intended) atm. I keep promising myself I'll make more of an effort every evening, but then I get to bed and can't be bothered! Poor DP, lucky I'm going to be working a lot less for a month!
Well, must go, time for Lucy's bath and DP is working a little later tonight so it's my turn.
Hope everyone is well!
Great to hear from you Jen13! <-- need to differentiate between you both now! hehe.
Wow at Lucy's eating! LOL. Isn't milk still supposed to be their main diet tho up to 12 months? I might look it up again myself. I always give Tallon a bf before food... or at least make sure he's had a bf some time before he gets food. But we've progressed onto bigger better finger foods now... I plucked up the courage to let him have some. And he eats it like pro - and coughs up any chokes like a pro too! LOL. He loves fruit (except banana - but that's ok.. they're expensive! LOL) and he has a biscuit now and then. He's had meat, but only with his mashed up vegies.. I was considering giving him a sausage to munch and squish everywhere tonight. LOL. I swear half of the food ends up in the highchair rather than his tummy!
We don't have a biting prob at the moment with feeding.. it's a yanking off the boob without releasing the suction problem! it HURTS! My nipples have taken a bit of a beating the last week or so :( No cracks or anything yet.. but I'm waiting for them! Tell you what... it'll be nice to have a little newborn suckling again for a change. LOL. I was thinking the other day how different feeds are now compared to back then.
OK.. better go and think about dinner.
Oooo Liz, thinking about a newborn again, I guess you're really serious about #2 now!
Lucy still has four feeds a day, even cutting out the 11:15 am feed. I know I've got heaps of milk at each feed, she must be having about a litre a day. As far as I know she's been having more than most other bf bubs up until now. She only cut out the breakfast feed a couple of weeks ago. She has one at pre-5am, one at 8-8:30am, then at 4:30pm and 7pm. The one at 11am was b4 I leave to work (only 2 days a week, but I thought it would be easier on her if she wasn't used to feeding while I'm gone...). But it's been up to her really.
Gotta go, dinner time!
Sounds like heaps :) I can't even give times for when Tallon feeds... at the moment it's all day! and all night!
Well, Abby and I feel a bit behind the times. Shes not crawling, talking and not even considering cruising the furniture!
We do have 2 more teeth tho.. those big sharp ones on the sides up the top.. is this cross cutting? still no middle top ones... just middle bottom and these 2 new ones.
As for food, eating anything really. Still has 3 and sometimes 4 bottles tho.
With the crawling, shes can get around, i just dont know how she does it... even when im watching her do it i still cant figure it out. She goes to crawl from a seating prosition, one leg gets stuck under her and the other one goes behind her like it should... she rocks back and forward and then some how moves or starts sooking. weird, but she wont stop doing it so im guessing shes going to figure it out very soon.
anyway, i have to run, the xmas tree is up and ready to decorate. yes its very late!
take care everyone,
xx em and abby apples
Emz - that's what Tallon was doing! Abby will be crawling before you know it. CHERISH the rest of the time you have without her on the go! LOL. omg.. it completely changes everything! And you MUST get a photo of her with 2 bottom teeth and 2 top side teeth. hehe... that'll be so cute.
Well, I'm deciding whether to stay up and do graveyard shift (get some work done into the night) or go to bed now and get up early to work. Think I'm leaning towards going to bed. Know what they say.. an hr before midnight is worth 2 in the morning! Think an early night will do me wonders.
Oh - update on Tallon - he's going to sleep easier now... no more tantrums (for now) ... just gotta work on getting him to stay asleep. Like I said earlier, he's moving around in his sleep now and waking himself up.
Mum reckons he's teething again... coz he's sooooo cranky today. He'll have a short happy play, then snap into a miserable little man. And sometimes when he chews on things he cries as if it's hurt him... so she's probably right that his teeth are coming. Don't know which tho? Can't see them. Tho I can never see them until they've actually cut thru anyway.
OK.. bed time! Night!
Hi girls
Great to hear from you Em, and Abby sounds like she's doing just fine. She'll be taking off in no time.
Proud Mummy moment - got to flush Lucy's poo down the loo for the first time this morning!! They've been pretty solid up to now, but not 'removable' from the nappy, iykwim. Oh the things that tickle my fancy now!!! LOL
Well, I'm off to finish Lucy's lunch and then we're going to the movies to see Charlotte's Web.
Woohoo Jen! LOL. Gosh I've been flushing poos for ages! but then I use cloth, so have 'dealt' with poo for about 8 months now! hehe.
Ooooh! I want to see Charlottes Web! Let us know how it is :) Are you going to a mums & bubs session? I'd love to know how they work too.. and if the bubs are distracting! LOL. I wonder if they have the sound quieter.. I'd be worried about the volume.
LOL Liz, you and your kids movies! It was good actually, and hardly anyone in the cinema. I've been to a few sessions with Lucy, she behaves perfectly and usually sleeps for half. Today there were only about a dozen other Mums there. At Macquarie the Babes in Arms session is in the Silver Screen theatre, so comfy seats and everything. And it's still only $8.50, bargain!
I did just about the rest of my Xmas shopping afterwards, nothing really left now. Just one or two friends who I can't decide what to get for (but some are DP's so I think that should be up to him!). Getting very excited about going to Carols in the Domain on Saturday night, Lucy's first Carols!
Well, must go finish my Xmas cards (using Lucy's pic, same as in her ticker). Hope you're all having a great evening.
hehehe I know :) I love kids movies. Poor Tallon is gonna get dragged to all the girly ones too. LOL. But I haven't been to a movie since - I can't remember!! :(
Well, we're getting a new tooth. I knew it! LOL. I knew he couldnt' be this restless at night for no reason! It's the bottom left tooth. I felt it last night. Still was grizzly through the night last night, but is sound asleep at the moment. Hopefully it'll ease up soon.
OK - scratch that - we're getting TWO teeth! The 2 bottom side teeth are breaking through. Poor little man :(
liz- hope Tallon is going ok with those teeth.
Abby is doing ok with those 2 side pointy ones that have just come thru. She has woken up screaming a couple of times but a trip to our bed usualy does the trick.
Not much happening with her at the moment. Getting closer to crawling. Saying some new sounds but still now words.
Ran into a mum i was in hospital with at one stage. Anyway, her bub is just a month older than Abby and shes doing all these clever things like saying mum, dad, good girl, ta and she is almost walking.
Its kinda hard not to think that maybe we are doing something wrong with Abby. Im trying to encourage her and im trying not to do the mistakes my mum and sister tell me im doing... like giving in to her when she wants something. Apparently if i hold off long enough she will say what she wants ??
bit of a boo hoo really. I dont feel like a very good mum right now. Poor little chicken.
Anyway, on a happy note, i have a job assessment on tuesday. Its just call centre work but its good money, just under what i was making at my last job but this is part time. 5-10pm or 4-9pm. I hope i get it. I dont even have a bank account anymore!! I will be a real person again!!
Ok, well Abby is having a holiday with mum and dad tonight. I dont want her to go. It was organized because we weren ment to be going out for my sisters b day but she changed it to yesterday so we didnt go. Mum would be crushed if i said she wasnt coming to stay. I spose Tim and i could go to the movies and out for dinner...
ok im going to go now before i spread too much doom and gloom.
Take care everyone
xx em
AWw Emz - don't worry about Abby. She'll talk when she's good and ready. Just be sure to talk normally to her, not in baby babble iykwim. Tallon doesn't talk either.. he does say mamama and dadada, not sure if he means it tho? Altho, he does call out to me when he's crying, so he possibly means it then. hehe.
As for not giving in.. i'm struggling a bit with this too! Tallon's taken to arching his back and yelling (not quite a tantrum) when he wants something. I try to wait for him to make a nice sound and give it to him then.. but it's hard. So i try and just "say" what it is he wants "would you like that bottle?" before giving it to him, as I know he just doesn't know how to ask yet. It's a tough one. I'm persevering with signing.. and I'm hoping that'll click with him soon. He's started clapping his hands and things the last week or so, so now that he's doing things like that with his hands, I'm hoping he'll start signing. Its supposed to break down that communication barrier a bit and reduce tantrums. But like I said he's not tantruming, it's just his way of asking at the moment.
Enjoy your night off.. definitely go to dinner and a movie or something :)
wow, where to start......so much to catch on!
Well done to all thosae bubbas crawling, cruising furniture and pulling themselves up. I hope the teeth are all coming in with few disturbances and not interupting sleep and eating patterns.
Em - go with what you feel is right and how you feel you want to parent- there is not really a right or wrong way. Let people give advice and just choose to do what you and DP think is best for Abs.
Liam has progressed (when he feels like it) to some sort of crawl with a knee and a foot like shuffle. it is only when he feels the need to be in hurry to what ever looks exciting on the floor in front of him. But he usually ends up finishing with the comando type slide!!!
Still no teeth...not that i am expecting any anytime soon as i said before Brad was just after his 1st birthday.
lota of babbling and singing but still mainly..dadada, bub bub bub and ai ai ai.
B/f 3 times a day except for friday when i forgot to the lunch/afternoon tea one, then wondered why i felt full and tingly before his last feed...... i felt soooo bad, but i don't even think he noticed. no biting going on hear though thank god.
He is eating everything......loves vegemite toast/sandwiches, yoghurt, fruit-all types, mashed/chopped veges, backed beans, meat and the list goes on. He has three propper meals and a snack or two.
Liam definately doesn't like me saying no to him. he gets a little grin as though to say "you don't really mean it" and it takes a few times to get the message across that i mean business. occassionally we have tears but usually he stops.
Brad had a good birthday. we had a quiet one on thursday and had his party last night (in the rain -in the garage and in the house) and today its beautiful...no rain...no clouds...typical!!!!
anyway gotta fly presents to play with from the party and stuff to assemble.
Take care
Hi girls!
Now, where is everyone?? Hopefully you've gotten the Xmas shopping under control, I still have DP's present, one friend and the dogs' to buy for. Tomorrow... Lucy and I are booked to fly to Qld Xmas night to stay with my Mum and back on NY day. So we get two lots of present opening!! We have a family of close friends coming over for Xmas lunch, so we're going to have a very busy day. Thankfully I have a few weeks off work and am thoroughly enjoying being able to plan my time to suit me and Lucy and not work for a change.
Lucy has gotten the hang of balancing while standing now and even took her hands off whatever she was holding onto a few times on Friday. She can pull herself up behind her little push-along walker thingy and not lose it too far forward by putting all of her weight on it. And finally, breakthrough with sleeping!!! The last few days she's not made a peep from going down until we're awake and making a noise in the morning!! Hallelujah!! My bbs have been enormously full in the morning again, but that's a small price to pay for that extra couple of hours sleep without interruption.
Lucy had a bit of a fever yesterday and was really whingey and clingy but seems okay today. Must have had a touch of something. She took an extra couple of naps too. Wasn't off her food, which would have been very serious for Lucy! She's such a pig now.
Hope everyone else and bubbas are doing well. Look forward to hearing all of your plans for Xmas!
Cheers
Oh cool, my new avatar is here! Although *sob* it's all too true that my baby isn't so little any more...
I just came in here to comment on your Avatar Jennifer! LOL. I've been meaning to email my changes thru, but might as well wait now, as she's not doing them til new year I don't think.
Hello Everyone!!
Well yes it's been a very long time but I am still around just no time for BB for a long time. I have been doing quite a bit of work from home plus we have our house on the market from this week plus we have bought a section to build on in 2007, so unfortunately not much time for much else!
Well where to start? Noah is great, not crawling but close - sounds like what Abby is doing Emz! He has two middle bottom teeth and two side top teeth with the top middle teeth not far away, looks like he has wee fangs at the moment. Still breastfeeding although he eats pretty good most of the time - I try not to stress too much about that! Have had a big problem with constipation since he started solids and still not really resolved, although he is on coloxyl at the moment which is kind of helping.
Since 5.5 months he has woken in the night for a feed, sometimes more than once! But what do you do? It's easier to feed him and he goes back to sleep without much fuss.
He was 8.8kg at the last weigh in so his growth has slowed alot lately - probably a good thing though! He has almost doubled his birth weight in 9 months.
I will have a proper catch up soon but just so you know I am still around and thinking of you all.
Take care
Amy & Noah
Hi Amy!
Good to hear from you and Noah. Sounds like he's doing really well and you've been super-busy. Know the feeling! Wow, I thought he'd be bigger by now, but at least he won't completely tower over all of the other kids!
Weighed Lucy the other day and she's 7.9 kg clothed and 71 cm long. Not bad for a baby that started out at 2.56 kgs, she's tripled her birth weight!
Hope you have a little more time to check in and tell us how you're doing. Good luck with the new house in 2007!!
Hi to everyone else as well.
Hi girls, a quick message from my family to yours
HAPPY CHRISTMAS and Best Wishes for 2007.
:P I hope you all enjoy the festive season and what it means to your family. Lets show these new bubs of ours what it's all about. I know Liam wil love the paper more than anything as he is our resident junk mail destroyer!!!
This will be a great xmas for us as DH is not working at all!!! He has worked at some point of the day or night for every one of Brad's xmas's, this will be the first one we will have him all day and night:confetti:
Hello, you must all be very busy enjoying the festive season and all those new toys your bubbas got. I hope you all had a great xmas and didn't eat to much... .....i did!!!! I got sooo much chocolate it will take me a month to eat it .
DH kept asking me what i wanted and i kept giving the same response " I want my house" so DH borrowed a friends DD's little people house and wrapped it for me. It was such a nice thought....hopefully only 5 months and i really will have my house.
Anyways, i should go......work in the morning.....stupid sales mean we will be very busy:evil:
Love to all
Ok, so i have come to the conclusion everyone has left march baby buddies and are now meeting up in a far off planet . LOL .
Hi Amy, it sounds as though you and Noah are doing well, and hopefully you will be able to visit us more often in here. It has become a rather smallish group so its not like when you log on you have pages to catch up..which is good i think.
Emz - is Abs crawling yet or still just hanging about??
Liz - how did the teeth go coming through? hopefully not to much trouble for you both.
Jen - I hope you are enjoying the break with your family and that QLD is giving you beautiful weather. Can't wait ti hear about it on your return.
During the days leading up to xmas whilst i was at work DH told me that Liam started to pull himself up on the coffee table and thinks he is extremely clever to be able to get part way around it. He would much prefer to grab hold of something or someones hands and stand and to try walking which he loves to do than to crawl which would explain why he still looks so unco when he slides/crawls along. But he is happy and thinks its wonderful now that he can get into Brads room and play cars or come and find us to make sure we haven't forgotten him. So cute!!!
He has also started to say mumma and mum mum...finally.... and also loves to look at pictures of himself and Brad mainly. He is still doing the double take in front of the mirror. He has known it is himself for a while now but still likes to double check that we are in fact holding him by looking at us directly...like the mirror could be tricking him IYKWIM.
Hi to everyone else...that is if you aren't all on that other planet i suspect you have all run off to. Ha ha, and hope to talk to you soon....i'm getting kinda lonely :frown:
Hi girls!!!!
Sorry you've been so lonely in here, Kas!! I just got back yesterday and have now reappeared from below the pile of washing and Xmas tree decorations that needed to be taken care of. Happy to say we had a lovely time, although DP was thoroughly in the doldrums after being left for so long. Very happy to see us back yesterday. If he had a tail like our dogs I think it would still be wagging now...
Thankfully the weather in Brisbane was very mild, only the last two days a bit warmer. Lucy loved all the attention and after a day of getting used to a strange house happily explored everything she could get herself into. We shopped and took a couple of small excursions, but mostly just enjoyed the time with Nana.
What's Lucy up to now? Well, she pulls herself up all of the time and can walk behind a push-along toy or little doll's stroller very proficiently. She just figured out how to steer it yesterday as well, but can't quite figure out why it won't go through the gates (bar at the bottom holds her up). She is eating everything in sight and has progressed from one weetbix in the morning to one weetbix and some vegemite toast. She has stated eating leftovers from our dinner without too much cutting up as well. She loves fruit, cherries were added to the menu last week and I can't get the pips out fast enough for her. Sandwiches are lots of fun, we're trying avocado today. She seems to prefer the crust to the rest and that's the first bit that disappears down the hatch. She is still having about four bf a day. She'll be happily playing before her morning and afternoon naps and come over to me trying to climb up when it's time for a feed. She does the same thing when she's sleepy. She's certainly not a baby anymore, she's behaving like a toddler.
I've noticed a lot more copying of things I do and say too. When I say 'wee' flying her in the air, she copies it almost exactly. I can hear her when she's gone into another room and is 'exploring' as she chatters away to herself and she gets all excited if she finds something new (that's the tip-off to check what she's into this time!). She's also very good with picking up tiny things off the floor or highchair, had to be very careful with toy packaging at Xmas. There's a lot less being put in her mouth, she seems to prefer studying it instead. And she loves music, she got a Wiggles DVD for Xmas and sat there waving her arms and thumping her legs for about 15 minutes. She's also started giving 'kisses' on cue, to either her dolly or me usually! It's so cute, she bobs forward, mouth open and plants one fair on your cheek!!!
Well, that's enough of us. How was everyone else's Xmas? Liz, I know you're around somewhere, how are you and Tallon and when is moving day?
Kas, how are the house plans coming along? Did you get to enjoy Xmas with DH?
Amy, how was Xmas in NZ?
Em, hope Abby is doing well, is she off crawling yet?
Jen, are you back from WA yet? How's the pg going?
HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you and next exciting thing is our babies' first birthdays in a little while!!!!! Scary thought, isn't it?!
Hi every body.
I have been so slack not coming in here for ages. I hope every one had an enjoyable holiday season.
So much has happened with my Cailan since I was last in! He is crawling, pulling himself up onto things, sitting up properly and starting to walk along things. He has been clapping for a while but now if you clap then he copies you. So cute. His exzema is still hanging around but it is pretty good, (thanks Liz!!!). DS1 has been picking him up and carrying him around, bit dangerous sometimes, he wants Cailan to play in the cubby house with him. DS2 is a little grub! He has this thing for water and likes to lay in the cat and dogs water/food. I have caught him eating the dog biscuits a few times too. I am looking into getting my tubes reversed. No more kiddies for me, DH is getting the snip. I am just in to much pain during my period and when I ovulate. It is like being in labour!!! Plus a few other things I am worried are being affected the TL.
DH and I are going to blessed with a nephew from my sister and a neice or nephew from his brothers fiance. How lucky are we!!
I don't have much other news right now but I hope I can get the catch up from everyone sometime!
Hope all mums and bubs are happy and healthy.
Kas - How is Liam's weight gain going?
Hi Steph!
Congrats on being an aunty twice over soon. My oldest gf who I have known since I was 8 is having a bub in June and we find out boy or girl on Thurs. This will be like being an aunty for me too, since we grew up together (were neighbours). I'm very excited!!!
Haha at DS2 and the dog biscuits. Fortunately our dogs never leave anything in their food bowls, but I'm constantly getting Lucy away from the water bowl. It's a Lucy-magnet whenever she's nearby! Good luck with the reversal of the TL. Sorry you've had troubles.
I am starting to get mooshy feelings about having another baby and am very glad we've made a definite decision so I can't change my mind just yet!!! Anyone else who's not pg/trying feeling the same way? I'm wondering if it's because Lucy is now moving into the next stage, out of babyhood.
Yay i have friends again!!!!!!!
Jen i am so glad you and Lucy had a good holiday. I am still LOL at your DP and picturing him waging his tail. I am sure Lucy was glad to see daddy after her time away! It sounds as though she is almost walking by herself. She must look so cute walking behing the pram. I see what you mean about your baby growing up. I thought another bub would be nice the other day....for a minut second and then snapped myself back into reality. Two is it for us, which is why i am still BF and enjoying my snuggles when Liam goes to sleep.
Steph - sounds as if you have your hands full. Cailan seems to be coming along in leaps and bounds and i am glad his excema is imporving. Liam is due for an official way in at the start of next month but DH weighrd him at home the other day and said he was 6.7 kg with a nappy and singlet. So it is slowly increasing
Ok. bed time for one little man......glad to have some of yuo back from the far off planet. Ha ha.
Hey guys - I have been in and out of BB, but not much time! We've moved house, but are still moving bits and pieces from mums. The office is still setup at mums at the moment, so I've ducked in here whilst packing (norty norty hehe).
looks like everyone's bubs are growing up. Can't really give you a complete run down on us, but Tallon now has 8 teeth (can't remember the last update I gave you on teeth LOL) and he's still walking along the furniture. He runs if DH chases him! LOL - very funny to watch. He laughs and almost panics trying to get away.
Jen13 - Tallon STILL puts EVERYTHING in his mouth and he's been chewing on the corners of the cardboard boxes from packing ARGH! We're trying to setup a gate, so he's locked in the family room. LOL. There's a joining piece missing tho, so I have to wait! Tallon goes quiet when he's found something, that's how I know he's up to something! heheh.
Tallon is a downright PAIN when it comes to nappy changes now... almost tantrums! As soon as I lie him down, he cries and cries and cries. He wriggles to get away and it's exhausting :( Hopefully he'll get over it soon. We've actually had a few great nights of sleeping (in bed with us) which is good, coz we're all so tired from moving. We'll set up his room tonight, and hopefully he'll sleep ok in there. We can but try!
Anyway - i AM here, and will endeavour to visit the buddies more often! Sorry!
Take care everyone, must go and take a car load up to the house whilst mum & Tallon are asleep on the couch. LOL.
Oh! I almost forgot - we splurged in the after xmas sales  We bought a 50" plasma TV, and a home theatre sound system! Very exciting tho! LOL. Oh - and we've bought a heap of furniture too - since we only ever had a 2 seater sofa bed and a small dining table... so now we'll have 2 new lounges, matching coffee table/ent unit/dining setting etc. Yay for fantastic furniture's dodgy packages! LOL. We didn't want to spend a fortune (altho we still spent quite a bit!) because we're still renting, but we're getting some nice stuff :) yay! Anyway.. that's a our big news. Hopefully my next piece of news will be a bfp! LOL (altho.. not officially trying until March!)
Congrats on moving Liz!!! And yay, it's 2007!!! I hope to hear happy news soon. Bet DH loves that plasma. My DP went and bought himself a whole system the month before we fell pg and thanks his lucky stars that he did, or else we would never have splashed out that much! Worth it though, 'cause we spend so much time at home. Lucy loves the Wiggles on the big screen! OMG at Tallon's teeth!! Lucy still only has 2. And I hear you on the nappy changes. I have heaps of little things on the change table and grab a handy container she hasn't played with before to try to distract her, but it's not always effective. Just as well the poos are usually 'flushable' or she'd be spreading them around with the wriggling!
Kas, bet it's nice not to be alone in here. Good on Liam for slowly putting on weight. 'Fraid his little light friend Lucy has decided to match it with the bigger kids now, she still looks very petite, but has surged ahead in height and is now somewhere over 8kgs. Light for her age, but not short, if that makes any sense.
My little man has worked out how to suck his spaghetti or noodles into his mouth if they are hanging out and does it with such charm!!! This is also the only time he wil perk his lips up and give what looks like kisses, he won't do it any other time....so i give him lots of noo noo's or sketti just so i can see him do both his new tricks.
Brad is getting annoyed as Liam frequently takes himself into his room and pulls his cars and trucks out from under his bed so he can play. He is so fascinated by wheels and cars/trucks that have friction. My baby is dissapearing and becoming a toddler.....all to soon i say:crying:
Hi All,
Hasn't the time since we had our babies gone so fast?! Cailan is climbing all over things and getting into mischeif already, I thought I would have a little while more without three mischeif makers but it isn't so. DS#1 did his first poo in the toilet, it is taking a little longer than I expected to get him trained. A ways to go yet too. DS#2is such an adrenaline junkie, DH swings him by the ankles way up into the air and he loves it. Bit scary for me to watch though.
I don't get much chance to come on anymore, living with the PIL's has had me say good bye to my privacy. I really only get on when they are out. Hopefully I will catch up with you all soon and hear more about the bubs, who are quickly approaching their 1st birthdays!!!
Kas - HOw did you go with toilet training Bradley? Any tips?
Hi girls,
As you all know i am in Perth still and not home till 20th Jan so will post more then. I thought i would write a quick hello to you all so that you don't think i have just left etc.
I am having a great Holiday and Tayneesha was a dream child on the plane it was her mum (me) the problem LOL i was throwing up in the toilet all the way morning sickness from the bumps and all of that Yuck:eek: !
We have been so lucky Tayneesha has settled straight away and this trip has not affected her at all she has had some hurting from her teeth though but thats expected and nurofen helps that. She was spoilt rotten for her first Chrissy as i could imagine all of the bubs would have been!
Anyway i will give an update on her progress for you all:
Teeth - She has her bottom two, top two and another one at the LHS of one of her top teeth so she has 5 all up so far AHHHH!! more to come though. Has been a little sooky here and there but reasonably ok.
Words - Nanna, Dadda, Mumma, Mum and Oh with pointing at objects, she understands what i am saying to her and it is just wonderful to see her grow up into a big girl, what ever happened to our little bubbas.....
Food - Eats everything, but lately has been a little fussy with her food and not liking veges???? Teeth i would say but she has an addiction for yogurt loves it thats for sure. She is not too keen on meat yet but will sometimes eat it, so not too concerned at all as healthy and growing fast.
Crawling - still crawling but can stand unaided and also walks behind her toy bike ie - a push along and loves it so won't be far off walking thats for sure. Yeah, maybe not though;)
Sleeping - she is sleeping all the way through at night sometimes though she will wake but we just put the dummy back in and she is alsleep within a minute or so just her teeth! It is daylight saving in Perth so she doesn't go to be until 8.30pm or 9.00pm still daylight then at night so thats a bit out of wack from Cairns ie- she goes down at 7.30pm in cairns... Might have to re-organise all of the sleeping again back in cairns see what happens.
She also is copying us alot more as well it is just so cute thats for sure. Oh and kids she just loves them can not get enough fun out of them, her cousins love her to bits and she just has so much fun i am so glad we have a video camera! Gosh all of our babies have grown so much and so fast time is just flying by.
My preganancy is going fine all healthy with the baby and i feel really well and healthy about myself so i am on top of the world right now. I fell like super Mum Lol!
Well better go but i thought while i have a sec tonight i do a quick post to you all, quick mmmm it was long my fingers just wanted to keep typing.... Lol!
Take care all of you and hugs and kisses to all our littlies that are becoming big kids so fast!!!
Jen
Hi everyone!
Steph - great to hear from you, although it must be a PIA to not catch up more often! I can only imagine how watchful you have to be with 3 on the go! It seems I can hardly keep up with Lucy sometimes. Are you looking for a place of your own? Yay on Archer doing his first poo in the toilet!!! I am sooooo looking forward to Lucy being toilet trained. It's easier to clean and dispose of her nappies now, but she just won't lie still while I'm changing her. I have visions of poo being splattered to the far corners of the room...
Kas - how are you? How are the house plans coming along?
Liz - hope you're more unpacked now. Just think, you won't have to do it again for a long time now!
I'm off to do some housework before a friend comes over for lunch today with her little one. She's going to be looking after Lucy for me when I start working (probably from next week or the one after). Her baby is crawling now too so Lucy and Tiana should have lots of fun chasing one another around!
Hi Jen, glad to hear you're having a good time in Perth. When we were up in Brissy the time change would have stuffed us around except I just kept Lucy on Sydney-time. Meant her poor Nana wasn't going to get to sleep beyond 6 am, but hey, at least I kept her quiet until then! Sounds like our bubs are going through very similar stages, all things much the same with Lucy, except she only has two teeth still and loves any food, although particularly yoghurt. You should see her crack up when she finishes it each night!
Hope the plane trip back isn't as chucky for you, you poor thing. Lucy loved the plane ride too, thought it was great fun to talk to everyone and look out of the window. Ooops, gotta go and rescue all of my paperwork from my little 'assistant'!
Hey guys! What clever bubs! Walking and talking! hehe. Tallon isn't walking OR talking yet. Well... not really. I haven't got him that pushalong car walking thingy yet.. but when I get around to it, I'm sure he's gonna be off around the house! He still only says mumma and dada, but I only get mumma when it's a whinge or a cry :( hehe. Oh - he says ta now! LOL. When I hand him his food, he says ta. very cute. (we've been working on that one for a week or so ;) ) But he understands EVERYTHING. If I ask him to go and play with the ball, he looks for it and goes and gets it. And we play a game of 'where's the ducky?" and he's so excited about it it's hilarious! All we do is put a rubber duck up on the arm of the couch or somewhere, and he excitedly climbs up to get it. DH likes to make it challenging by hiding it under a basket or something.. but Tallon's too smart for him! hehe.
OK gotta go. I always waste my valuable time whilst tallon is sleeping .. on BB! LOL.
Liz, you are so right on the understanding things! If I point to something and tell her to look at it she looks right away, and if I try to hide something behind something else (ie yoghurt behind fruit so she'll eat that first) she tries to crane her neck around or move whatever is in the way. Can't fool her anymore! Her chattering is mostly unintelligible, but she's got 'tone' now and sounds very conversational. Love Tallon's game of 'hide the ducky'! Must try something like that, thanks for the tip.
How's the TTC coming along? Any news for this month?
nah no news yet... not trying just yet. Still just taking my vitamins and things for another month or so. We're waiting until his 1 (or nearly 1 anyway.. hehe). Couple more cycles probably, then we'll try. It's a bit scarey.. I'm struggling getting things done with just 1! hehe. But I want them to be fairly close in age, so I'll just have to cope.
Hi Ladies,
i just wanted to stop by and see how my preggy buddies were getting on... Been a while huh! Of course technically Smee came in April, but whatever.
Update on me: I'm now a single SAHM. XDP and i broke up when she was 8 weeks old, and i moved out 2 months later. Iam now seeing a friend who i'd developed feelings for last year but hadn't acted on. I feel like i'm finally heading in the direction i want to go in! XDP sees DD everyday and has her overnight once at the weekend, in addition to putting her to bed 2 or 3 times a week - he used to have her for afternoons but his shifts changed so he can't ATM. I feel lucky to be able to survive on the government's benefits while i care for my daughter. I plan to work again once she's big enough for state nursery (3), until then i'll be her main carer. I'm cooking her shepherds pie as i type - i feel a bit crazy - does anyone else find themselves putting crazy amounts of veg in food so they can give it to bubs? LOL, i would normally add peas and onions, but this one also has red onion, carrot, courgette and green beans in! I am happy being a mum but after the initial period (birth-8 weeks) when XDP did nothing to help me and went out to smoke dope every weekend and stayed out all night and generally broke my insides up with broken trust and desperate unmet need, i've had a 5-year IUS fitted so i can't have any more. After 5 years i can request sterilisation. DP (new DP) says i might have changed my mind by then, but honestly i can't see me ever trusting someone to that extent again. Now the contraception is sorted i'm actually very happy in my relationship.
Update on Smee (as she is affectionately known): She's BEAUTIFUL! She's in age 12-18 month clothes alreadys as she is so long. SHe's kind of lean but my Health Visitor says not to weigh her or worry about her as she's bright as a button and VERY active. SHe has her 2 bottom teeth at the front and made zero fuss when she was cutting them. SHe can commando-crawl and is into EVERYTHING. SHe's also just started trying to stand up by sticking her bum in the air from all fours but hasn't quite got the hang yet. She pulls herself up against things but fell and hit her face last week when trying to do so and is a bit cautious now. SHe loves her food and eats more or less what i'm having smooshed up. THis means i'm FAR more careful about my diet than i used to be LOL. I sadly stopped breastfeeding at 7 months. Due to the stress i'd be under with the breakup etc and moving house i'd lost more than 18kg and my supply was just going and going. So i switched her to formula from about 4 months, very slowly, and here we are. I wish i'd been able to BF for the whole first year, but i figured it was time to admit defeat on that one. In addition a fairly serious thyroid problem i'd developed (giant goiter, low thyroxine) has rectified itself without treatment since i stopped BFing so obviously my body was struggling. So she's a formula baby now, and not bothered by it at all. SHe's very active and can roll, sit, kneel, stand (with help) and commando crawl. Her favourite thing seems to be finding dangerous things i don't think she can reach and touching them so my heart stops. SHe's a very happy giggly baby, never a moments peace but never an ounce of trouble. A joy, really, i feel so lucky. In addition she sleeps 12 hours a night straight with no problems and also has 2 naps a day (one of which i'm utilising right now :) ).
Must go - the food is ready for smooshing and we're going swimming this afternoon, me Smee and XDP.
Loves to all
Hana
