Rachel, great news about Gold Coast, and the certificate too, although its a shame they didnt have your correct record, how funny!
Poor DH, tell him to hang in there, Grace will have good and bad episodes for awhile just yet, then when she grows out of that, you will start having to worry about what I'm going thru with Aidan. Oh the joys of parenthood! ;) My friend adds farex to her bubbas milk, maybe try that? Not sure how it is done etc but makes sense, instead of going straight into food from a spoon. I think I might start doing it when I think Tate is starting to show signs. Because he is such a big boy, just like his bro, I expect it sooner rather than later, but I'm quietly confident my machine-like BB's are doing the job for now! ;)
I have another job i/view today, still waiting to hear back from the other one so if they are going to take so long, I'm not going to wait around. This one is 20hrs per week, nut sure about the pay tho, cant wait to find out!

Oooh big cuddle for Claire on yucky needle day!
-
Jessica, hope your interview goes well. Good luck! I've been looking for part time jobs but I havent applied for anything yet. I am a bit nervous actually to apply for anything. thanks :) I shall pass on your cuddles to Claire :) She has been on boob for like 45 mins but she's now just sucking for comfort i think. Its been a big day!
Sarah, how is your uni study going? My hubby has decided he is going to apply for his masters and do it while working full time!
-
Rachel - I started Jas on solids at 5 months as was the time to start back then. My sister started her bub just before 4 months (with advice from her GP and CHN) and her little man is going great! I think a lot of the research has shown links to bowel cancer at a late age (like 50+). Every baby is different and has different needs, so you really need to go with what you are comfortable with. I started Jas on Rice cereal, but it took her a good 4 weeks to get the hang of it! Goo dluck with your decision anyway, and do what works for you.
Karina - was it Claire that has't been sleeping? Nicholas went through about 10 days of this just a little while ago too. He was waking every half an hour from about midnight onwards, and crying hysterically, it was exhausting. I tried everything - wrapping him tighter, the grobag, a heater, extra feeds during the day... in the end, I don't know what worked, but he is back to sleeping through again!
We will be getting needles next week too, yucko! At least when I go to the GP, the nurse also comes in and they give two at a time so he only gets one shock. School holidays are going great. The girls have been keeping busy with activities and craft stuff at home. They are doing a Bunnings workshop tomorrow, and have a few things booked in for next week. The time is going really fast though, I can't belove it is Friday already!
Have a great weekend everyone!
-
Rachel, is it possible your friend wasn't as far along as thought?? Either way, I am still surprised at the pushing for formula they've been doing to her. I hope it all comes good and her bubba is healthy.
Sarah, I soooo know what you mean. Just the other day I was talking to Andy and the girls in my mother's group about it and how I'm not sure if I could cope with the dirty nappies if I had m/s again. *sighs*... I miss the feeling of approx 7 mths pg... not too big to be too uncomfy but big enough that ppl know you're pg and it feels good too. I LOVED how that felt... however right now I have Oskar on my lap.. he fell asleep while having a chat and I think ... how would he fit on my lap for these beautiful snuggles we have and that makes me sad to think he wouldn't have snuggle space :( What a dilemma!! BTW... I think that subconsciously you haven't changed your avatar cos that's what you really want :D Hopefully it will happen for you soon :D
Cuddles to Claire!! I hate doing the vax thing... *sighs* poor little mites.
Jessica, good luck!! I spoke to a lady the other day from an agency and told her that I'm happy to do work companies wish to outsource. Problem is she said that usually is accounting type of work... bugger me I HATE maths!! pmsl.
Yup, I found out around this time last year also that I having a little beachball... and what a joy he is turning out to be.
Well, today, I FINALLY got around to buying paint... I wanted to get Oskar's hands and feet done (those plaster ones they do) but it's very expensive! So I had an idea a while back of buying canvas from $2 shop and some paint and doing hand and feet prints... then I thought... hey it'd be cool to have all of our hands and feet on it... so I bought a fairly large canvas and today bought the paint... it's gonna look SO cool! I've painted the canvas in an orange, but not neatly or to the edges and over the weekend we will do the prints. I can't wait to see it finished! I'm not sure if I should do Oskar when he's asleep though...lol. This afternoon we went on a BIG walk... about 4 km's!! Took about an hour and I drank about a litre of water on the way as well, imagine how much more if it'd been the middle of summer!! Ahhh I love how he's sleeping sitting on my lap right now...hehe. He's sitting up, facing sideways and leaning against me... so adorable!
-
Wow what a yuck day. Ari has been whinging all day which is so unlike her. We had a reasonable night last night - thank god or I think I would have fallen in a heap today. I went out and bought another rocker today (DH doesn't know yet) but I need something with handles to carry her around in when Im at nappy demos or places with DS as the pram is too bulky and I can't it properly with the HAB. I know it's only a few months until shes crawling and stuff but this is big enough to give her a polace to sleep even when she is older and it folds flat in the car . While we were there I had to buy her some new toys as she just loves them. DS was never really into toys so we don't have a lot.
Rachel - bummer about the muck around with the course, hope it all gets sorted soon. Hope mothers group went well, sorry but our weather here is just gorgeous up here, nearly warm enough for summer dresses again
Cass- oh yes MS with dirty nappies would be bad esp as I have ms the entire time. We have pretty much agreed now not to have anymore and I am happy with the decision although still I guess mourning not haveing anymore.
Cass_blob Hey I just realised we had a scan around the 19th ish too I really didn't think one year later we would be sitting here with this little bubba as we thought we were having a miscarriage
Gotta run will do more personals later
-
Cass, i loved being about 7 months pregnant too!! I had to giggle at no lap space when 7 month pregnant too! I had my baby shower a week before Claire was born and my neice kept wanting to sit on my lap, but there was just no where for her to sit as my Claire Belly was in the way lol!
Sarah hope Ariya sleeps well tonight. We have a rocker too, its very handy for when we go out to someones house!
Jo, yeah Claire is not sleeping really well at night at the moment. I hope its just a phase!
I am watching hubby playing with Claire - I found a bright orange ribbon which is shiny and she LOVES it when we just wave it around and drape it over her face. So funny to watch! Claire is now lifting her legs and head when we place her on her back, like she is trying to sit up. So cute!
-
Hello ladies...I am so tired tonight. I haven't felt like this for ages! Mother's group was good. Another good spread - they had a delicious broccoli and leek soup which was really yummy. We are starting to get rather comfortable with each other and the conversation is getting a lot more relaxed and not always about babies - which is nice sometimes to talk about other things .
Karina - poor Claire, I hope she has a good night and her poor little legs don't get too sore. Thank goodness that is over for another 2 months. I hope she sleeps better overnight for you. Another baby at my mother's group, born the same day as Grace, has started waking overnight this week too. So maybe it is just a 4 month thing - fingers crossed it improves soon . How cute with the ribbon. The trying to sit up thing is really cute to watch don't you think. One day (sooner than we think), they'll actually sit up. They are growing up so fast.
Sarah - aaawww how nice, weather warm enough to wear dresses again. It is so so cold down here it just slaps you in the face as you walk out. Don't know if i'd cope with the humidity that you get up there though. We have a rocker for Grace with handles that we occasionally put her into sleep and then carry her around if we need to. She doesn't like being strapped in though so have to really watch her, especially after doing that one roll.
Cass - that is what DH and I thought when we saw the baby as she does look prem. I spoke briefly with her today (must have caught her at a bad moment as she was rather short on the phone) and baby lost weight yesterday but was putting it on today and is probably going home tomorrow. They are breastfeeding now (2 hourly, glad those days are over!) but still giving occasional top ups of formula even though my friends milk came in today. I thought that was odd but who knows. Hopefully next time I speak with my friend she will be in better spirits. Day 4 so maybe she is feeling a bit overwhelmed. Ewww morning sickness and pooey nappies, no thanks! What a great idea with the canvas. We were going to get prints done too but they are so expensive. You'll have to let us know how it turns out.
Thanks Jo, we are trying everything else first! I'm hoping that this is just a phase as well and she will start sleeping through again. You have a good weekend too.
Jessica - how did the job interview go? Interesting what your friend does. The MCHN actually mentioned the other day when I was talking to her about solids not to make the farex so runny that they can drink it, she said to make it a consistency so that they learn to chew, or something like that. Both DH and I can't remember exactly what she said but it was soemthing along those lines. Good luck though, I hope Tate likes it when it's needed.
Will be doing the dream feed just before going to bed. Fingers crossed it helps and also hope that she doesn't actually wake up!!
What time do you girls put your little ones down for the night? Do you have a night routine? We have a night routine of feed, sit up and play for 30 minutes or so to let feed settle, bath, rest then sleep. This is done anytime after 5pm depending on what time her feed falls. It has been working well until this week so now I'm wondering if 5pm is just too early for Grace with her growing needs. hmm, be interested to hear what everyone else does.
-
OK I feel terrible, I just gave Ari some panadol in the hopes of getting a moments peace and a feed please oh please let her sleep just for half and hour.I have3 invoices to do and there are nappies ALL over the house as I had to do up lots of orders today - I really want to tidy it before DH gets home but I can barely move I'm so knackered from all the screaming today.
In answer to that :-) RAchel no we don't have a very good night routine enerally it goes something like have dinner 6pm, bath Ari, bath Xanny, Ari naps while I read books to Xander than she wakes for 30mins fed and try to get her to bed (In other words - put her down, cries, put her down cries, put her down cries - give in let her sleep on the lounge, put her down about 11-12am whenever I go to bed) So no it's not working for us but with DH at work most nights I can't find any other solution.
Karina - ohhhh at the ribbon, you'll have to get some video of that.
OK going to do something useful now, ohh just had to ass Ari starts swimming lessons tomorrow - very excited (well I am anyway)
-
SArah - hugs - I hope you get some rest. Seems like the nappy bucket is doing really well and keeping you very busy. Must be hard to establish a routine when you DH is not always there and you have to fit in with Xander too. How exciting about swimming lessons. Can't wait to take Grace.
-
Cass, your hand print thing sounds cool! I did foot prints (just on paper though) about 2 months ago, but I cant get her to open her hand for long enough to do hand prints!
Rachel, we dont have a strict routine that we do at night. I feed Claire often in the evening - usually around 6, then again at about 8pm and then sometimes again about 11pm, then somewhere between 1 and 3am. We do feed-play-feed-sleep, or sometimes we do a bath after the first feed (every second night we give her a bath). She only does short feeds most of the time. She slept from about 11pm to 4:30am today but I think she might have just been tired after having her vax's yesterday.
Sarah, hope you feel better soon. Wow on the swimming lesssons!! I didnt know you could start so young.
We are having a feral morning here with Claire. Just been really unsettled and wanting constant cuddles.. but I need to do stuff like shower, go to the loo, eat etc and its just not possible to have constant cuddles!!
-
Sarah, big hugs to you hun! Don't feel bad!! Sometimes you try everything and nothing but a bit of panadol helps!
Karina, it's amazing how something so simple gives them so much pleasure huh!! I haven't tried anything like that, but must remember to.
Rachel, how's Grace going? Did a dream feed help? When I feed Oskar his last feed I leave him on my boob for up to an hour to an hour and a half sometimes... he doesn't feed the whole time but he does feed a few times in that time... I guess like a dream feed... he's not always completely asleep but if you do try to take him off he'll wake up!
Will let you know when I've got new pics on website, it's not co operating at the moment. We did the hands and feet last night...lol...what fun!! Oskar's hands are a bit funny cos he wouldn't open one of them up very well, but it's cool, they're in the corners and you can tell they're his anyway :D I took a pic and will put it on the website also when it's going to play the game!!!
-
Ok... pics are now on the website. I added one in his Bumbo cos he looks like Donkey Kong and cracked me up :D Also added his hand and foot canvas thingy. I'm pretty pleased with it!! His feet came up quite well. His red hand print isn't too bad, the blue one though... he wouldn't open his hand..lol. Was funny though, cos we had 4 colours of paint and each person did one foot/hand etc in each colour... blue is VERY hard to get off!! He looked like a smurf down one side cos it was his hand and then he smeared it on his belly and leg...PMSL. Oh and he ATE some of the red paint from his other hand!! Andy was holding him about to put him under the shower to wash the paint off and there he is having a good old chew/suck on his fist!! Lucky it's non toxic! All I can say is he's a boy and his first taste of something other than booby milk is PAINT!! ahaha.
When I was going through his pics to put some new ones on the website I looked at some of his newborn bubby ones... like literally just hours old and he was so tiny and so beautiful (even though he looked like ET in one...hehe) but it just made me want to go and do it all over again :( It's no wonder some ppl have lotsa kids! It's hard to stop when they're just so adorable and loving.
Later all you beautiful mummies and bubbas!! I'm being lazy tonight and we're having chinese!!! I can't remember the last time I had it... mmmmm.
-
Cass well done - the hand/foot print thing looks great! How tiny are Oskars feet - so cute. What a handsome little man he is and he looks so cute in the Bumbo. The pic of him in the 'i love daddy' top is really cute too. I agree on the newborn pics - so adorable and tiny! I took one of Claire a few days old and was as long as hubbys forearm but when i loook at her now, she is so huge compared. Mmmm i like Chinese food! We're having pasta which i am going to start cooking as soon as Claire lets go of my boob.
Just went to the chemist and weighed Claire - 5.58kg! Almost twice her birth weight!
-
Karina, they're so tiny huh!! To think though that they're BIGGER than when he was born!! Now that's freaky! Would've been little dots...lol. Even pics from only 4 weeks ago look so different it's scary! Chinese was delish!! Was thinking that it's the first time we've had it from there cos we haven't had chinese since somewhere in the first 20 wks of pg and we lived in the old house not here! It was so good. WTG Claire on the weight gain! How well are all our little bubs doing. They're fab babes!
PMSL... Oskar is asleep on me and he just SNORTED in his sleep! Ahhh I need more sleep me thinks. Tomorrow we have Andy's parents coming down cos they couldn't come down last weekend for Joshua's birthday and we are going out for lunch. I didn't think about this until during dinner and thought man... an expensive weekend and if I'd remembered we wouldn't have had chinese tonight! Oh well, too late once you're eating it. Anyway, IL's haven't seen Oskar since he was around 8 wks I think? They are going to be quite shocked at how big he now is... and HEAVY!! My oofer boy.
-
Hi all, well my little girl is konked out in my lap AGAIN :-) I feel so sorry for her, I just don't know how to get her to settle????? Also we have had another exhausting day of screaming. I ended up giving her some more panadol this evening as it helped her settle last night, I just hate giving it when I don't know what is wrong! Maybe teething as she has been doing the most horrible poos, and has a bit of nappy rash etc, I can't feel anything in her mouth though???? I don't know
Cass- those pics are gorgeous, your little man is such a sweetie.
Karina - wow on doubling her birth weight, that is quite an achievement! WTG Claire
Oh yeah swimming lessons went fab. SHe loved it, not a single tear and she went under heaps. Forgot to take the camera but will get some pics next week
Gotta go, markets tomorrow and I need to finish up some slings and price some more nappies :-) Talk soon
-
Saram - Amazing hey :) We did too, expecially since 7weeks before i got told i couldn't have children - stupid idoitic *^*^#*^#*^#*^# Doctor...
Hope you get some work done :) I really want to take Izzy to swimming lessons, but thought i'd wait till it's a tad warmer first, thats me being a sook, hehe~!
Glad Ari likes swimming lessons~ i hope she settles for you a bit!~!~
Cass - that was a pretty kewl time (7months) And it's pretty kewl, even when you are full term there's spaces left for cuddles - i had my 3 1/2yo sis jumping up for cuddles 24/7 :)
I hate getting vax done ( i know for a very good reason) but so heartbreaking to watch... Although izzy gets over it very quickly, cries while getting japed then gets cuddles and finishes... She now weighs 7.01 kilo's!!!
Cass - that picture looks amazing! And i love the green bumbo! Another reason i love the bumbo's - coz of the awesome colour they come in :) and i did the same thing the other day looking back at all izzy's photo's when she was first born, so adorable :)
Racheal - Izzy's night time generally goes like this - Dinner at 4.30-5, warm cloth wash - into pj's, feed till 6... selfsettles her self to sleep... dream feed at 11.00... wakes up at 5./5.30 has change, play feed for bout an 1/1.5hours, then a morning nap till 7/8...
OKay, going to sleep now, i'm very very very sorry if ive forgotten anyones!
-
hi girls, how is everyone's weekend?
Grace is doing much better (hence so are we ). she is now waking once overnight it is just earlier than it used to be, but still sleeping till after 7am. this i can live with.
Sarah, i know what you mean with the panadol. i had the same dilemma the other week. sometimes you have to do these things because they can't tell us what is wrong. panadol shouldn't send them to sleep so i would think that she had some discomfort which was relieved by it and then she could sleep. sounds like you did the right thing. yay on the swiming lessons, i can't wait to take grace.
cass - how did the visit with the in laws go? were they suprised at how big oskar is now? i've been looking at graces photo's too and the difference is amazing.
Karina - wtg claire - almost double birth weight, what an achievement .
grace is asleep in my arms, waiting for her to wake for feed then we will get ready for bed and i will start dinner.
-
Sarah, I hope Ari settles for you soon  It's awful when you don't know what is wrong and you just don't know what to do! It sounds like whatever it is the panadol is making it feel better. Could be teeth moving around in her gums?
Cass... lol @ you being a sook!! I'm the same. Even though the pool where I can take Oskar is indoors and apparently the temp is 33 degrees or something? I think knowing that it's so cold outside is what does my head in! I told Andy he can do the lessons anyway as I can't put my head under water for medical reasons and I don't want Oskar thinking I'm afraid of it and being afraid to do that himself. What colour bumbo did you get Izzy? I love the pics of Oskar in his... he looks so proud of himself...lol.
Rachel... IL's paid for lunch! When FIL said he'd pay I said no, it's cool and he pretended to hit me with the menu...lol. So that was really nice but we made them let us pay for drinks and Gloria Jean's coffee after. They couldn't believe how big Oskar's getting and how well he holds himself up now. I did get the "when are you starting solids" question... but not in a bad way. I just said in a couple of months I'll give him a go and FIL said he looks like he's doing fine without anyway and I said yeah, I'm not messing with what's working at the moment. So, it's all good :)
I just can't stop looking at younger pics (how funny does that sound?? lol he's still a week and a half off 4 mnths) and seeing how much he's changed and grown!! I love seeing how he's developing into his own looks and not baby, baby, but it's just so fast that I'd hate to not have the pics to see how it's all happened.
Joshua asked me before if I thought if Oskar would stay asleep from 8:30pm tonight and I said why... he wanted me to take him to Harry Potter movie. Unfortunately Oskar sometimes wakes for a burp, cuddle of a top up around 9/9:30pm so I said I couldn't... then he wanted me to express for a bottle and I said... well I don't own a bottle...lol. So, Andy has taken him to the 6:20pm session. I have the house to myself, Oskar and that cat. FEELS GREAT!! Ahhhh... anyway, I think the little man's just woken up so we're going to have a bath, I'll have nice healthy toast for dinner and then we'll settle on the lounge to watch Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy!! WOOHOO!!
Ooooh did anyone watch House the other night??? Did you see the baby's hand hold House's finger??? OMG I got teary, it was so beautiful!!!
-
Hello again...just wanted to let you know that I have added more photo's in the 3 - 6 month set.
Cass - bonus on not having to pay for lunch. Hope you had a nice night for yourself and Oskar.
-
Hi girls, falling asleep as I type but want to watch the end of whatever it is I'm watching (can't remember what it's called) went to bed at 2am last night, Ari woke for a feed at 4:30am then had to get up at 5:30 for the markets and low and behold get to the markets and Xander threw up everywhere. Long story short Ari has beeen screaming agin, DS has been asleep or being sick but on the upside the markets went really well :-) The two of them have conked out in our bed so DH and I are on the lounge tonight (DS has a bunk bed and too hard for me to get up to if he gets sick during the night) I have been doing the glen 20 and the pineo clean all day and then just when I thought he was getting better he threw up all over Ari and I - oh well what can you do.
Cass - Oh your evening sounds absolutely devine hope you enjoy it! Thas great that the inlaw visit went well! I know what you mean about the photos, it scares me how quickly Ari is growing ;-( I just want her to be my baby forever.
Rachel - thanks I thought the same about the panadol I just wish I knew what was wrong :-( Yeah on the good nights sleep with Grace! I am so envious :-) The photos are gorgeous, she is growing into such a little lady.
Cass-Blob - I'm a big sook about the cold too, I don't get in the water unless it's 40 degrees. I wouldn't be going either except DS is going anyway and I really want her to love the water (not like her brother)
Caro - no she's not bringing her legs up or anything and she is just grumbling ALL the time. She is IMPOSSIBLE to get to sleep and I can't pick up on her tired signs as she is just cross all the time. Even when she was having some play time today her happy cry was all screachy, she is getting over her chest infection so maybe she still has a sore throat??? I really don't know. I have had her on the boob constantly today as it is the only thing that seems to bring her any peace (well at least for 5 min)
Anyway I am off to beed to see how much sleep I can get before one of the munchkins wakes :-)
-
Caro – I go to Claude at the Gwelup Medical Centre. His wife is a Paed, and he has young kids, so he is up to date on all the relevant kids info. He is also really lovely with the girls.
Rachel – we have the same routine every night – 6pm - shower/bath; 6.30pm – bottle, story, cuddle; 7pm – wrapped and into bed. Kiss goodnight, music on and leave the room. Nicholas usually doesn’t stir again until about 4.30am.
Sarah – I hope Ari settles down again soon for you. I am lucky that the girls are older and don’t go to bed until 8pm, so we get Nicholas sorted out first, then dinner all together (us and the girls), then the girls are into the bath and stories and bed. It must be hard to do it all on your own and with Xander being so little too. You poor thing! Try to get some sleep tonight, and I really hope for you that Ari sleeps for you tonight, and I hope Xander feels better too!
Cass – I love your masterpiece!!! It is fantastic! What a great idea. That is funny about Oskar eating the paint! We were given a plaster thingo to do Nic’s feet and hands, but haven’t done it yet. We will have to do it soon though, as he is getting so big! By the way, the pics of Oskar are just SOOO gorgeous! His smile is so cheeky.
Well, Nicholas is just a star! We went to the in-laws for dinner last night. He had his bed time bottle there, then went down in the port a cot at about 8pm and didn’t wake up again until we woke him to leave at 11.30pm! He was so good, then he slept in the car on the way home, and went straight to sleep in the cot once we got home. Then, today, we went to my sister’s place to see the baby (so tiny!) and he went down for a sleep in William’s cot (his new cousin) and slept for 1 ½ hours! My mum was so impressed as every time she has seen him he is usually crying (or I am!!) or chucking! Today he was perfect, and smiled and laughed, then slept!
In the mornings now, he is waking up so happy and will talk to himself for about 15 - 20 mins before we need to get him up. He laughs his head off, then babbles away and sucks on his hands - so cute!! I hope everyone is well, take care.
-
Cass...Bright pink... theres photo's in my album in sig...
-
Rachel, Grace is beautiful. What a total cutie!! I just want to get all of our March bubbas and cuddle them cos they all look so adorable.
Sarah, I feel for you honey..if only you lived closer huh. How did she sleep last night?? Is Xander feeling better, poor little man.
Jo, wow @ Nic!! That's amazing. I'm not sure Oskar would sleep through that. Thanks, I love the "masterpiece" lol. Oskar's feet look so cute. Speaking of feet, his big toe is looking a bit red again... I am going to have to get the doc to take a look at it I think. Also, he is cheeky!! He does this thing if you're holding him and someone talks to him, he grins then hides his face in your shoulder. Very cute.
Caro, PMSL @ twin comment.... it's funny that a lot of their stuff was the same before we even knew the other had things! Great minds though ;)
Cass, Izzy looks like she's lovin' the bumbo too! I LOVE them. It's funny how you find something which you love for your bub and then can't stop telling others...hehe. It's true though... Oskar loves it and I love it!!!
-
Cass - I am still deciding whether or not to get a bumbo. I think Nic would love it as he loves to be sitting up.
Caro - where did you get yours from? I haven't seen them anywhere yet.
-
Cass - the canvas looks FANTASTIC! I showed my husband and he thought it was a great idea too. Oskar looks so cute sitting in his bumbo. Thanks, I think Grace is a total cutie also. Like the ladies in my mother's groups said, she is very photogenic (doesn't get that from me so must be from DH!). Grace would love a bumbo but we don't think it will be that long before she is actually sitting on her own as she sometimes leans herself away from as and holds herself up for short periods.
Cass - Izzy looks so cute in her bumbo too. She looks like she enjoys the jolly jumper. They are all growing up so fast.
Jo - Nic is fantastic, what a good little boy. You must have been so proud. Grace usually wakes happy in the morning too and babbles to herself for a little while, which is great as it is nice to wake too and also gives me some time to drag myself out of bed :D.
Sarah - to you. You must be so so tired you poor thing. I am glad that the market went well at least. I hope Xander feels better soon and Ari starts to sleep better for you. You must go to bed early, you need your rest otherwise you will also get sick.
Well, Grace was back to her usual self last night. In bed by 7pm and didn't wake until 5am for her feed, then back to bed until 8.30am. It was so good, really needed the sleep. It's amazing how quickly a broken sleep catches up with you. I really feel for you ladies that don't get a good nights sleep. I'm not jumping for joy yet but I am secretly hoping that the last week or 2 was just a phase and everything is all good now .
We saw a financial consultant today and we have made an appointment in 2 weeks to see a financial planner/advisor. The $275 i thought was a lot but if they can help us save some money in the long term and get ahead then it is money well spent. Lets hope they can help us achieve our goals faster. So much to think about when it comes to planning our financial future, but i figure it's important that we get it sorted seeing that we now have grace to think about (and probably another one in a couple of years).
Grace is due for a feed shortly so best be off, hope everyone is having a good day.
-
Cass heheh about Oskar snorting! How cute!
Sarah, hope Ari slept well and Xander is feeling bettter, and you managed to get a bit of rest. Must be hard when your hubby is often working at night. Sometimes there is just nothing I can do to settle Claire and I just cant hold her 24 hours a day, and i find it so hard and stressful to hear her crying (you know that really distressed cry they do). I find that when I do pick her up, I have to face her outwards not towards me otherwise she is even more cranky. She is sleeping at the moment, but I think half my prob is that I dont always recognise that she is tired until she is VERY tired which makes it more difficult to get her to sleep. I've been lying down and feeding her to sleep lately which is helping her settle.
Took some videos with my digital camera of Claire playing, she's so funny. We have one of those playmats where the toys hang above babys head and she loves pulling at them and trying to get them into her mouth (they dont quite reach!). Its actually the most toy on the thing that she seems to enjoy the most - they are the coloured plastic shapes and she seems to enjoy them more than Pooh bear, lol. I'm going to send the video to my mum!

Rachel, she is VERY photogenic!! I think that about Oskar as well... and he certainly does NOT get it from me!! Maybe it's cos they're just so much more natural IYKWIM? That's what I love about digital too, you can just go snap, snap, snap and delete any bad ones... although I have kept some cos he looks like he's got 3 chins and NO neck in some and a big round face...lol...so I gotta keep some for later bribery ;) Re: the bumbo, they can still sit in it once they're actually sitting on their own anyway. Up to you though, but I find it invaluable. You should do a canvas... it was fun...lol. I haven't had my feet in paint since I was a kid... it feels cold and slimy!! The canvas cost me $6 and the paint was $2 per colour and I have HEAPS left so he can play with it when he's older.
Jo, go for it ;) Get one, Nic will adore it. I haven't yet heard of anyone who has one say that their bub doesn't like it.
Karina, he's snorting more often too!! It's scary!! PMSL... he'll be whinging then he snorts and I just can't help but laugh at him. He probably thinks... mum stop laughing at me!!! ahaha. Great to hear Claire is sleeping better again!
Sarah, honey, just call me if you want a 5 minute sanity break. I wish I could do something to help you.
Oskar is asleep so I thought...woohoo I can read BB in peace :D Better go and work out something for dinner now though and put the heater on cos it's FREEZING!! Oh... we're getting reverse cycle split system a/c on Friday!! I'M SO EXCITED!! Now I can set it so that it turns on around an hour before I get up in the morning...lol. Also, I'll be glad not to have a heater on the floor so that when Oskar starts crawling (although it'll be warmer then) he can't pull it over or anything. The cat won't like it though cos he's such a heater hog!! He seriously curls up about 50 cm in front of it and sleeps!!

Caro, I'm sorry, I didn't realise that you had new photo's of Michael up - of course he is cute. He looks very happy to be in his bumbo.
-
Caro - I noticed -
Question - what does your clutter have to do with someone wanting to buy a house? It's not as if it is going to be there when they buy it and move in! Silly people - obviously don't have kids. Hope you feel better soon, you really are having a bad run.
-
Well I am back and still sane :hello: Xander slept well, no more vomit hooray and Ari slepted reasonably well. Thanks for the thoughts but it's not that bad, I think I was just having a whinge :-)
Caro - grr about the house, don't they realise real people live there! Its so annoying isn't it.
Ok no idea what else was said have to go back and re-read

[QUOTE=~Saram~;838933]Well I am back and still sane :hello: Xander slept well, no more vomit hooray and Ari slepted reasonably well. She has been a little better today. Thanks for the thoughts but it's not that bad DH does his best adn DS is just so wonderful, I think I was just having a whinge :-)
Caro - grr about the house, don't they realise real people live there! Its so annoying isn't it.
Ok no idea what else was said have to go back and re-read - oh just discovered if you click quote then you get to see all the messages as you reply - love it.
Cass - thanks, it's good to know someone is there to have a chat to. Oskar will love that paint even more in a few months. Being a teacher we always have heaps of paint and playdough in the house :-)
Karina- thanks I will try that holding facing out and see how it goes. I think that is Ari's problem too, she is getting over stimulated and overtired. Oh yeah on the video!
Rachel - glad to hear Grace is sleeping better. She is absolutely very photogenic Ari has been doing those little sit ups too - she is trying sooo hard to sit up.
Jomarie - Oh I wish ari would sleep like that during the day! Hope he keeps it up for you.
Gosh I'm having a shooker, this is my third edit. Meant to say - took ari for her 4mth check up and she weighs in at ......7.890kg OMG I thought she would be around 7kg but not nearly 8! now wonder those 00 are not fitting properly. she is now 63.5cm long which is only 2.5cm in 7-8wks is that normal? OK now I'm finished I think :-)
-
Hey Sarah - glad Xander is better and that Ari is letting you get some sleep. OMG on Ari's weight gain. They usually say that they grow 1cm per month but having said that it is obvious that Ari is putting all of her efforts into her weight gain! Grace is the opposite, less effort into weight gain but plently into length (she is now 66cm long which is a growth of 15.5 cm since birth. She grew 4cm last month!). I wouldn't worry, she certainly isn't short. By the way, feel free to whinge away. If you can't do it here where can you do it!
-
Thanks Rachel, I just checked Ari's length at birth and she has grown 11.5 so I suppose that's pretty good really, I know her weight blew me away as well.
Oh I forgot one more thing in my last post. I got a 5 for my first masters subject! Can't believe I actually passed :-)
OK going to bed now nighty night
-
Congratulations Sarah. You really are a wonder woman.
I'm off to bed too -just watched the season finales of desperate housewives and brothers and sisters - i feel empty now - lol! Goodnight.
-
Caro - Michael looks so cute in his Bumbo! I think I really have to get one now. I might go up to Toys r Us this week and get one. I hope you are feeling better. As for the house, people really need to realise that you are a family and you are "living" in the house!I am sure your house looks perfect, and as it is the kind of house a family would live in, it is perfectly appropriate that there would be some kids "clutter" around! I hope your buyers get better!
Sarah - I am glad to hear Xander is feeling a bit better, and that Ari slept better for you.
Rachel - I know what you mean, I have loved Brothers and Sisters...now they will put crap on tv!! Oh well, more time to belly belly I suppose!
Well, we spent the day at a kids fun centre today as my sister came to Perth with her 5 beautiful boys. All my sisters got together with all of our babies - 11 in total now!! It was a really nice day and Nic was as beautiful as ever, darling boy.
-
Caro, how cute is Michaels smile in those pics of him in his Bumbo! He looks so happy.
What silly people who made the comment about the house being cluttered - they must just be used to those houses you see in real estate brochures that no one lives in so the real estate agent have furnished them with like three peices of furniture. Hope you feel better soon.
Sarah, well done on your uni result. Wow on Ari's weight, thats amazing! I also remember reading somewhere that babies this age grow about 1cm per month, so going by that her length would be normal.
Jo, how nice that you spent the day with your sisters - wow on your combined total of 11 kids!
Claire's been cranky tonight and is asleep on my lap after having some booby. I dont feel right just letting her 'cry it out' so I occcassionally booby her to sleep then let her sleep on my lap... although i know my hubby would prefer I let her cry, i just cant do it. I dont like crying myself to sleep so why would I want to let my daughter do it, who doesnt even understand what is going on, kwim? Then he'll say or do something that just makes me feel like such an inconvenience. Sorry for rambling/venting there. I guess I just get frustrated by the way we see/do things so differently :(
-
Thanks Cass and Rachel! Izzy loves her bumbo... and she's just a jolly full of laughs in her jolly jumper... Today's fav seat is the beanbag - she's sleeping soundly on it now, next to me... Yesterday's fav chair, was on me the whole day - poor lil girl just wouldn't stop screaming, from morning to night, i', pretty sure she was teetching - gave her panadol and bonjela and that would settle her enough to sleep for 5mins... :( i hated feeling so hopeless, i didn't know what to do! Today tho, she seems to be happy slef again!
Oh well, i must go, gotta run down the shop and mail letters, pick up nappies, some more scrapbooking stuff, somethign for dinner, ummm am i forgetting anything? lol!
Catch ya
-
Wow bumbos are really catching on! I might have to go to Toys r us and check them out.
-
Jomarie - wow on 11 babies, that is going to be fun as they grow up together! I love those play cafes DS has so much fun there.
Karina - I think exactly the same way about crying it out, it is so true, noone would ever tell an adult to go and cry themselves to sleep. DH and I often don't see eye to eye on parenting either but I found the best way around it was for DH to look after bub by himself al day, helped him see what it was all about. Feel free to vent anytime.
Cass_blob must be an age thing as Ari is just getting over a grizzly period too. Love the jolly jumper, had one with DS and he loved it too. What is the weight/age limit?
