Hi everyone! I had a quick read last night but was too lazy to type anything...lol.
Karina, lol @ babysitting at 10 days old! PMSL @ whipping out a breast. You seriously made me laugh, but you're right!! Ahhh dear... need one of those strap on breast feeding things like in Meet the Fockers... was it?? Damn that was funny! As for the sleeping... yeah he does seem to stay awake for longer periods now. It's hard for me to say with sleeping times, cos he's always tended to just have short naps throughout the day.
Sarah, we bought a baby gate the other day from the Target sale for half price... now the thing is, the cat can't get through it either...lol. Don't know what to do about that. We also have to get a bigger one to go across 1.7m opening. I was watching one on ebay which would've been perfect but got distracted when it was finishing the other night and FORGOT!! Damn thing sold for only $31 too!! So I just look at it like the universe was telling me it wasn't the right one ;)
Rachel, Oskar gets mottled skin but not blue. Personally I would probably have a little chat to your doc or MCHN. It does sound like something to do with circulation if they pink up with warmth.
Well, last night was my first "home alone" experience. Andy was in Bundaberg for work. I have to say I'm glad that it wasn't when Oskar was a little fella though. We were out pretty much all day yesterday, had bub group in the morning then wandered around the shops and had lunch with a couple of the mums and we got home around 4:30!! So, seeing as it was just the two of us we had a bath at 5 (usually this would be around 7:30 so Andy could bath him etc and have some dad time) then I fed him and he fell asleep for a while until I put him down. So, I had something to eat and he was just laying there having a chat. Then he started to get a bit whingy somewhere between 6:30 and 7pm so I gave him a feed and he fell asleep again. I put him down probably around 7:15.... by 9:30 I as getting nervous as I hadn't wrapped him and he'd fed more than an hour earlier than he would usually before going down for the night... and he was just on his belly next to me on the lounge and obviously I couldn't leave him there overnight. So, I carefully picked him up and wrapped him and he stayed asleep!! I was half expecting him to wake up as he usually would (during the day). I put him in his hammock and he still stayed asleep..... he slept through until 6:30 this morning!!! Mind you, I didn't ...lol. I woke several times to see if he was awake cos I was expecting him to wake a couple of hours earlier than normal cos he'd fed earlier last night. He went down a LOT easier than he does normally. I am wondering if it's not cos it was earlier in the night?? Problem is I don't really want to bring it forward like that cos Andy won't get to see him during the week if I do! So, I unsure what I should do now.
-
Sarah, good luck cleaning the house.. thats something I need to do but my brain feel fried and I just cant be bothered.
Cass, oh glad other babies dont do long naps during the day - makes Claire seem more normal! Thats great Oskar slept so well, but I agree that it would be a pity if you had to put him down for sleep that early every night and Andy couldnt have daddy time during the week.
We went to ECHN yesterday. Claire is now 5.7kg and the nurse said she iis doing really well developmentally. The nurse also runs talks at the centre (well not the same centre, the other one in the next suburb) and there is one soon on starting solids, so I am thinking of going along to that. I also told her Claire is still waking every 2-3 hours overnight and she said I should try spacing out her feeds making her wait longer and trying to get her to take both breasts. Usually, she will only have a small amount each feed and only from one breast and her feeds only last about 15 minutes at the most usually. Last night I managed to have her feed for a whole hour but she still woke up 2 times overnight. The nurse suggeted getting DH to get up to her in the night because when I do it, she just want milk straight away.. but I dont think hubby would do that. I am really feeling crappy with all this broken sleep.
-
Cass - your night sounds so relaxing, know what you mean about moving the routine around we need to get Ari in bed earlier but it just isn't practical.
Karina- wtg claire! DS used to wake every 2 hrs when he was a bub and I ebded up getting The No Cry Sleep Solution. My copy is currently lost in the twilight zone but she has sections based on age and whether your BF, co-sleeping etc. Good luck, my hubby wouldn't get up ither
-
Heylo,
I've been deactivated out of bb for the week, had to change address and the activiation code stuffed up... wouldn't work, long story short i back lol...
Got izzy professional 4month photo's done this week, and might i say they are absolulty gorgeous, got them done through GFP studio's and they were wonderful! i can't wait to get them (in 2 weeks)...
I caught the stomach bug this week, it hasn't been nice at all, but luckily izzy hasn't seem to catch it, fingers crossed she doesn't!~!~! But you know what pizzed me of, when everyone heard that i was throwing up, it was automatically thought that i was pregnant! every single person including my mum, asked me! I got soo offended. Is that what it is going to be like now, when ever i get sick?
Got izzy into Aqua movement classes they start in 2 weeks... so that should be fun... went out shopping looking for togs, and I have a problem, i get a size 8-10 and the togs don't fit my boobs at all... i get size 12-14 and the boobs fit just nothing else? Grrr... I need big boob size togs, and can't find them!
Anyways im still feeling crappy, hope all is well, sorry i didn't do personals.
-
Oh Cass_blob I've had that bug too :-( twice now, yuck. I thought I was pg hehe and in answer to your question - yes! Once you have one bubba everyone assumes there will be another shortly after. Hope your feeling better soon
-
Cass, Hope youre feeling mych better now. How annoying that they all asked if you are pregnant again! Yay for aqua - I want to take Claire to swimming lessons. I am going to check if they have baby lessons at the local pool. Sorry, but had to laugh at your togs dilemma! I remember when I was pregnant and trying to find a one-peice togs to fit... er close to impossible task that was!! Any how, I would suggest getting a two peice so you can get a different size top and bottom, and then just wearing a singlet if you arent fond of showing everyone your tummy. Ooh I am going to get some professional photos done too, in a few weeks. I just want some nice ones and I am just so crappy at taking photos!
OMG today was one of the worst days ever. Claire jst screamed ALL day. It was so tiring and so hard to listen to her cry when nothing I was doing was helping her. DH has been out late every night this week - leaving at 7am and coming home at like 9pm - and I have told him no more and that he needs to put us first for a while, as I really need the help at the moment. We still think she is teething and as she was absolutely screaming for ages tonight, we gave her a dose of some teething relief stuff. Wow is all I can say! Within a minute she was settled, happy and smiling.
hoping for a few solid hours of sleep now.
-
Cass, you poor thing! I HATE throwing up with a vengeance!! That's why me and m/s aren't good partners...lol. I find it sooooo annoying if you happen to throw up or feel queasy that everyone assumes you're pg!! RUDE RUDE RUDE!! Glad Izzy hasn't got it, that's what I hate more than throwing up and that's having to deal with someone else throwing up... I told Andy that it his job if Oskar throws up...lol... and that was before he was born!! Glad you're feeling better though. I was going to say the same as Karina re: togs... get 2 piece and wear a singlet top. Oh and boobs look great in a bikini ;) I had one on when pg at around 7 months and OMG my boobs looked fab!!! There's a pic on the website under bubs I think it is.
Karina, big  to you. It's awful when you can't stop it and make it better huh. We went to Gloria Jeans yesterday and had a coffee and a snack and the owners are friends of ours. Well, she was giving Oskar a cuddle when he just started crying... then he went into FULL BLOWN crying/screaming for no reason! Only thing I could think was either teeth or he was majorly over tired?? I ended up having to put him on my boob and that even took about 5 mins to calm him and even then he was still whimpering every now and then. I do hope that she cuts the tooth if that's what is bothering her. Good on you for saying something to DH as well. You're right, you need him.
I am having a dilemma, part of it is moral I think. My cat is getting beyond a joke at the moment and I can't stand it anymore! He is scratching things he's not meant to (and knows it), jumping on the table, biting my ankles when I walk up the stairs... and well there's the pee issue which is making me too afraid to have any bedroom doors (other than ours) open cos he's peed on 2 beds!! He's waking me up on average 1-2 times most nights and then sometimes he's disturbing Oskar and then I can't get back to sleep! I have no problem being woken during the night if it's Oskar or Joshua.. they're kids and it is for a reason, but I am NOT liking it cos it's just cos the cat feels like being a little so and so and almost every night! He's almost always done this so it's not a jealous of Oskar thing. He's recently started to scratch the draws in the bedroom. I am so close to giving him away it's not funny, hence this is my dilemma. I feel so awful, horrible and mean for even having that thought, but I just can't deal with this! The other thing which is stressing me is when Oskar starts crawling how do I keep his hands from being covered in cat hair?? I have to pick it off him now and I keep him away from where the cat is as much as I can. I already vacuum daily but he's a ragdoll and there's LOTS of hair! I'm just so unsure what to do. I love him, but he's also beyond a joke so often. I know if he wasn't here I'd miss him but at the same time I would just relish the peace and quiet and not being woken by him scratching my furniture and no cat hair! Am I awful for feeling like this and even having this thought?? Any advice maybe??
-
He is beautiful, even though he's a MAJOR PAIN! He's so cute. He does actually "play" with Joshua and Oskar if they're laying on the floor... it is a concern cos he runs at the head and jumps around so I have to keep chasing him away. He's never hurt him but it does worry me. I'm so torn about this atm that it makes me want to cry. My first concern is Oskar obviously.
-
Sarah - Hate it when people assume! should assume nothing, expect everything hehe!@
Karina - Feel loads better thanks, I never thought about buying 2 differnt sizes! lol, that seems so simple now, lol~ i'll put the professional photo's up when i get them, there so gorgeous! and i got the CD with them so i can print of heaps of copies (which suits my very big family heaps) ... Hehe agree to the boobs looking great in a bikini, DP thinks soo too!
Cass - I agree, i hate throwing up, it feels awful! I hate being sick myself, but i can look after other people being sick, that doesn't worry me at all. Which is proberly a good thing because im going ot be a nurse, lol...Sorry about your cat there is not much adivce i can give, as i am not a cat person at all... But you'll make the right desion for you...
Hugs back to ya Caro...
gotta run izzy needs her sleep, an i might lay down too!
-
Cass, I have no idea what to do about your cat. Such a tough one I think. I have to say though, it would concern me if he likes to play with Oskar because he could scratch or hurt him or something. Our cat used to live outside at night usually. We had a big verandah and he would sleep on his bed there. Oh yeah I get a bit flustered when Claire screams at someone in public. People give you dirty looks and its like hello shes a baby , they cry!
Feeling much better today. Claire only woke at 4am last night instead of her usual 1, 3 and 5. I still couldnt sleep though. I kept on waking up!
LOL my hubby is such a dork! I was feeding Claire this morning and then all of a sudden, I can hear her laughing from the other room, so naturally I get really confused... turns out my hubby had recorded Claire laughing on his mobile phone and made it his ring tone, and had left his phone at home. I was quite amused, it probably sounds so dumb, but I couldnt stop laughing, but mainly because I was so shocked to hear Claire laughing from the other room when she was sitting right with me.
Oh yeah, I put more photos up on ym photo website!
-
Karina... PMSL! I would've been like... WTF?? Yep, it's harder to deal with the screaming like that in public cos you kinda feel under pressure to "fix" whatever it is ... yeah right they can tell you what it is!! NOT! ahhh well, we got there.
Cass, definitely a good thing re: looking after sick ppl if you're going to be a nurse!! Man, I'd be the WORST nurse...lol.
Caro, how much is it hun?? Email me.
-
Hi Brooke, great to see you. That's great that Lucas and Charli are doing so well! Good luck with ttc #3.
Cass - I'm know just how you feel about your cat, we have a ginormous dog (rhodesian Ridgeback) who is just the most adorable, gentle giant however he is such a sook and wants to be close to the kids, unfortunately he weighs over 40kg, is taller on his back feet than both me and Dh and had razor sharp claws. He is so careful with Ari but often reaches out with his paws and I am so scared he is going to paw her accidently. We have quite a lot of dog hair around. I often consider giving him up but could never follow though as he is as much part of our family as DS and DD. He now has a little bed made up in DS's room (he loves sleeping with the kids) which keeps him out of the living room where Ari is. Cat's are a bit harder, esp cats that pee. Is he fixed? Have you thought about contacting dr Harry :-) Oh saw those gates you were talking about. Picked one up today as I realised DS isn't going to be able to step over the old fashioned gates we have at the moment.
Karina - our girls must be in sync, Ari has grumbled most of the day and then screamed all night but on the upside slept really well last night and hasn't stirred yet touch wood.
It's getting way to late and have early swimming lessons tomorrow and Relay for Life all weekend. Speak to you gals on Mon
-
Brooke, great to see everything is going so fabulously!
Sarah, it does seem like our girls are cranky on the same days hey! Luckily she has been so happy today and went down to sleeep without a fight tonight. I just had to feed her and lie down wiith her. Ooooh I love lying down with her and snuggling her.
Had a great day today. I even went for a walk to see my dad at his work which is a few streets away from my home. They (a bunch of blokes!) went all gooey over Claire and one of them mentioned he and his wife are expecting another baby, so we talked about my new pram as he likes the look of it! I think I almost got offered a job, but I wasnt sure if they were serious or joking?? I really do need to learn how to read people a bit better!
When I was bathing Claire she starting drinking the bath water, lol. I dont think she was very impressed with it though as she got a little cranky.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! We're helping some friends move house tomorrow- at 10am! OMG thats such an early time for me to be out of the housse!
-
Heylo everyone!
I've had such a long day! The kids woke us up at 5.30 this morning, and just couldn't get back to sleep! Pretty hard with 2 boys jumping all over the place!
Then i get a message from my friend that is 33weeks pregnant, she is in early labour! So i have been in the hospital most of the day, She's been contracting and bleeding since last night... Contractions are every 5-10mins... They have givin her steriod injections and so far 4 tablets to slow/stop the labour, but its not working... The nurses took us around to the special care nursery so she new what to expect (the babies in there were sooo small :( ) both the doctor and midwife have ran through with them what to expect as in what will happen in delivery and after, and both say within 24-48hours bubs will be here... Which is way too soon! I'm just soo bummed! i'm hoping bubs will hold off for another couple of weeks!
hope everyone else had a good day, hugz to all!
-
Brooke, great to see you! Sounds like the kids are doing great :D I can't imagine seeing Oskar with a tooth yet...lol...they do look so cute when they get the first couple through though. I've been toying with the idea of TTC but not 100% certain if it the right time for us. Keep us updated on what's happening and everything.
Sarah, lol about Dr Harry... cos I HAVE thought about that... but then hmmm I don't want it on tv...pmsl. Yep, he's fixed. We've locked him downstairs for the past 2 nights...put up the gate so he can't get up, first night was ok didn't cry but he did last night, well early this morning. We'll see how this goes for a week and then reassess how he's adapted to it. It's so hard cos like you said Sarah, they're part of the family. I guess though when it really comes down to making the final decision the kids always come first.
Karina, if you're interested in the job then I'd go back and just kinda casually say... oh you know how you mentioned/said xyz about working here... were you serious?? lol. I would've said at the time though... oh are you serious?? hehe. That's just me though and yes I have got myself a job that way before. Have fun with the moving... I HATE moving but it's not as bad if it is someone else..lol.
Oh Cass, I hope your friends little bubba holds off as long as possible. My friend was the same, she had early labour twice I think?? She ended up going full term! I have everything crossed for your friend and if her bubba comes now then it's all crossed for bubba.
I just got cranky before. We're painting the spare room atm... well Andy is. Anyway, I wanted to help. Oskar was asleep so I went to help but ended up feeling TOTALLY like I was just in the way :( I wanted to do something other than what I do every day - look after Oskar (which I love), clean around the house, washing etc. I wanted to feel "useful" but in a different way IYKWIM? So I ended up just saying, forget it you do it and I walked away. He came to me just before and asked if I wanted to do some, but I said no cos I'll probably stuff it up anyway. He's like, no you won't and you're not in the way. I still said no cos now I'm just not in the right frame of mind anyway, so it's best if I don't. So, now I look like I'm chucking a tanty...lol. Nah, I just wanted to feel useful in a different way but instead feel worse than I did before. Oskar made me feel better though, cos when he woke up he gave me big smiles and snuggled for a bit of a cuddle. He's currently sitting on my lap making his funny little contented going to sleep noises... and I LOVE that.
Oskar and I went to the Bright Bots factory outlet sale yesterday. Everything for $5. Some things were 2 for $5! I got bibs - 4 for $10 instead of $10 each!! They're the "dry" ones.. fleecy backing so they don't get wet. I didn't see how well that could work until I washed them and OMG the backs are almost completely dry (feel only very slightly damp) and the fronts were soaking. TOTALLY AMAZED! Wish I had bought another 4 of them now. I added up what I got when I got home and I saved over $100 if I'd bought the stuff retail. Got the cutest hat... omg he looks adorable in it. He used it straight away cos I had him in the HAB and the sun was facing him when we were leaving, so on popped the hat. Weren't allowed prams cos too many would be in there otherwise. So now Oskar has some very cute and BRIGHT jumpsuits for warmer weather. I got him next size up.
-
Cass, thats cool about all the stuff you got at Bright bots. I love those factory outlets too! I can relate to you on the "feeling useful" thing. I mean, I feel useful looking after Claire all day, but its different to the kind of useful that my hubby is. The moving was ok. I didnt do much as I was watching Claire. Our friends also told us they are expecting another baby (although I already knew as I have been stalking her on belly belly for a couple of weeks, pmsl!!). I am interested in that job.. I think I was just confused whether or not he was serious. I might go back and see if he was serious or what.
Cassblob, hope your friend is ok and her bub stays put for another few weekd. Any news on her?
I am going out to the shops today to get my brother a pressie for his birthday whic is in a couple of days. Just waiting for my hubby to come home. Oh and I saw an ad on TV about a bra sale at myer.. hopefully its still on sale. I need more breastfeeding bras! My Bonds ones, while still is good condition and very functional are just plain boring and ugly!
-
Karina, lol @ plain and boring. I LOVE my bonds b/f bras. I tried different ones but didn't like them or how they felt. Thing I like about the bonds ones are they're like t-shirt bras so you don't get the lines etc. PMSL @ stalking.
I forgot to mention earlier... we have 4 month needles tomorrow @ 10:15am :( I mean I'm happy, but sad at the same time. It's such a mixed emotions thing to do isn't it. So we'll just hang at home after that. He was good last time, no reaction at all not even a red mark or anything. He slept more but that was it so I'm hoping that this time he will be the same. I'll do what I did last time - panadol about an hour after needles and then before bed. I was thinking about giving panadol before needles but I didn't do that last time and I don't want to change it in case IYKWIM? Anyway, off to fold more nappies...lol.
-
Hi Everyone - im still around, more reading than replying tho, just lazy!
(It wasnt until i logged on that i noticed a box saying that that i havent posted for several weeks that i thought id better!)
I see everyone's doing pretty well, nice to hear all the "little ppl" are doing good too, i try to read this thread at least once a week but you all talk so much its hard to keep up!
Emily's doing really well, just started rolling from her belly to her back but not the other way yet, although she also loves sitting up herself - with the wobbles - very cute! And standing on me - thinks its the funniest thing! My fav thing is the laughing tho - love to hear babies laughing! She talks all day long, going to be like her sister - chatter box. No teeth yet - thankfully!
How many babies in here with teeth?
Am i the only formula feeding mum here?
My DD just had her 13th birthday on friday then a party last night - i feel like ive been out all night, really need sleep after getting up to tell them to be quiet every hour - but they had fun.
Well, must be off to cook some dinner for the crew..;)
-
Izzy has her first tooth!!! Cut today, with minimal crankiness! She's done soo well for a bubs that has spent two days up at the hospital! Such a great little girl i have...
Heather (my friend) is still in labour, still contracting and bleeding, but the doctors ain't seem to be doing much! I'm not impressed! Had a go at them today, poor thing so scared and they treating her really bad, expecially the young midwifes (No offence to young ppl) But no baby as yet which is great... ill keep you updated...
And to add - i just did a pregnancy test, Damn people played on my mind! and it was neg, Thankgawd!~!~ now just wanted to be sure... if i DTD 11th july, the test should show weather i would be pregnant hey?!?!?!
-
Heather is now fully dilated! back in birthsuit... she saying the contractions hurt like hell (lol as we know they all do), but her little girl will be here by tomorrow. She will go straight into NICU..
-
Hi all, Relay for Life was fun, DS had a ball and now everyone is in bed :-) Ari stayed in the HAB most of the night and then DH let me sleep (which is why I'm not in bed hehe). Anyhow we are home, Ari has been screaming most of today which I think is partly due to being overtired and partly due to them darn teeth.
Cass_blob - hope your friend is OK. Fingers crossed for her. Is it her first?
Cass - Oh wishing I was in Brissie for the bright bots sale!
Shell - good to hear from you. WTG emily on the rolling. Ari's had some bottles of formula as we need to use it up and I want DH to have some experience settling her at night to help with their bonding and I am too lazy to express.
Karina - have fun at the bra sale. I so need new bras as some of mine don't fit right and I know I'm going to end up with a blocked duct one of these days.
Hope all are well
-
Oh Cass_blob, hope all goes well for your friend and yeah on Izzy's tooth, which one did she get!
-
izzy got the bottem left tooth...
Yup its her first... and she's being a real brave thing!~!~
-
Cass, hope little Oskar is not too cranky after his needles! Claire was pretty good, and didnt behanve any differently afterwards except for the usual crankiness for a few minutes until she forgot! I got told by my GP not to give her Panadol beforehand. I didnt end up buying bras. They only had the Berlei and Lovable ones and I dont like them. Sticking with my bonds ones for now. They come in nice colours now though so might go back, but we were in a hurry and I didnt have time to try anything on. I did try on an Elle one, and it was very pretty but it just didnt sit as nicely as the Bonds.
Shell, good to hear from you again and great to hear things are going well. I love hearing babies laugh too! Claire hasnt got teeth yet.
Cassblob, wow on Izzys first tooth and thats great she wasnt too cranky. I hope your friend is ok and they look after her and her baby better.
Sarah, sounds like you had a nice day out.
Went out for dinner tonight for my brothers birthday. Since he turned 21, he has been counting backwards for each birthday, so he is now 16 lol. (he is actually 26 though).
Claire got lots and lots of cuddles and played with her toys, had some booby then slept in her pram in the restaurant.
-
Thanks... she still hasn't had her baby, i'm about to go in there, and yell at some incompetent nurses (sorry really dont like this hospital - LOGAN yuk!)
but another friend has gone in there this morning, and had a beautiful baby boy 7pounds... :) Babies flying out everywhere~
-
WOW Cass... you have lotsa new bubs around ya huh!! You know, my friend had her bub at Logan and she was told NOT to go back there again if she has another. They have the worst reputation apparently. She was also in and out of the birthing suite in prem labour over a course of 3 days I think and then they SENT HER HOME!! They were idiots seriously... I was about to go there myself and yell at them! I hope that your friend is going ok and her little princess is ok as well. WTG Izzy on the tooth! They look so cute with the first little tooth poking up..hehe.
Shell, great to hear from you and that Emily is doing well. Oskar hasn't rolled yet, but I'm not sure if I just haven't really put him in a position to really have much of a go at it...lol. Ahhh well, I'm not in a hurry anyway.
Sarah, they had the cutest hats!! I will take a pic one day soon and let send it to you. If I had known earlier that it was going to be on I would've had a chat to you and picked some things up and sent them to you. I only found out on Friday arvo though.
Karina, thanks... he was pretty good actually.
Caro, I got your email, thanks hun.
Intersting fact on rotovirus: I did also post this in the rotovirus thread Caro started... but JIC some haven't seen it I thought it pretty important to share this. Doc brought it up and says… you’ve probably heard about the new vax and I said oh the rotovirus.. he said yes. I said well he was born in March and he goes yep so he won’t be getting it. He said he actually spoke to the people who make the vax and it is NOT safe at all for babies over 12 weeks old. Apparently it is a course and it HAS to be done before 12 weeks because if they’re older it has SEVERE side affects. He has a 6 month old and said this is why she isn’t getting it. It’s NOT an annual vax like the flu shot and like someone on BB said, it’s a once only course which needs to be completed before 12 weeks.
Oskar didn’t cry for the first needle, whimpered a little on the second and had a cry on the third. By the time I put his pants back on and picked him up he stopped and even smiled at the receptionists…lol…little charmer!! He’s asleep now but that’s probably more from being tired as he only had about 30 mins sleep between 8am and 12 cos he was just dozing before I had to go to docs and then he fell asleep in the car on the way home but it’s less than 5 mins…lol. He’s had some panadol and a feed and seems to be fine. He's just woken up and he's all happy, so that's good :D
I was going to say something else, but in between typing and going upstairs to get Oskar I can't think what it was!! lol. Oh well, better go and hang out washing and clean my kitchen.... well the crap which has accumulated on my bench and is peeing me off!! Have a wonderful day everyone :D
-
Thanks caro...
Cass - I agree. I live near logan and when i went to see the doctor around here, he's like you'll be going to logan, i'm like 'hell no' So went up to my mums and saw my childhood doctor, and he also said "like hell, your going to logan (he's a really kewl doctor) so he got me into ipi... And i gotta say i had the best birthing experiance an prenatel care because of them... they were fab...
But i also had another friend go to logan, first baby, had GD, 6hour labour, lost 1litre of blood, tore front to back - side to side, was out the next day, and didn't have a clue what she was doing, also was in that much pain! she couldnt walk...
I yelled at the doctors yesterday when they said there going to send heather home if it slowed down again (after she just got through telling them the pain is getting worst) They don't listen there! She is still going 2.30pm, i'm getting worried, coz she been bleeding for 3 days (you don't bleed for no reason?!?!) is dilated, in alot of pain and they are doing nothing! Heading off to see her soon, might get in some more argeuments with midwifes hehe!
Thats good to know cass about rotovirus, i hadn't even thought about getting it because it wasnt reccomended to me by my doctor...
Just got some togs that fit :) Going swimming tommorrow.
Okay i must go catch ya :)
-
Cass... oh I'd forgotten about the tearing.. my friend tore 3 ways!! Sides and up and down... poor thing was in so much pain after it wasn't funny!! Is there anyway your friend can go to another hossy?? I know it wouldn't be an easy thing to do... but just a thought. Like call ambo and get them to just take her!

Cass_blob, that is terrible about your friend. OMG I can't believe they aren't doing anhing to help her! I hope she has her little bubba soon and they are both OK.
Cass - OMG, nobody told me about that with the Rotovirus, Ari is due to have her second course this Thurs. I was told to give it to her at 2mth and then 4mth? What are the side effects, there is nothing in the literature
-
Cassblob, gosh the hospital doesnt sound like they are doing much to help your friend.. I hope she is ok and they actually do stuff rather than passing her around. I agree with Cass, call an ambulance for her and get them to take her to a better hospital! They sound a bit incompetent. I mean she's dilated, in labour!!! Stupid hospital.
I wasnt told anything about having the rotavirus vax for Claire. It wasnt even mentioned to us and there is no info about it in the Blue Book. Scary how people get told such different information about it though.
oh tearing is horrid. I had three tears too (peri and both sides) and I couldnt sit down for ages. They wanted to do an episiotomy and I'm glad they didnt because i think I would have ended up with more pain. Then they gave me a panadol and told me to sleep. Panadol?? WTF??
I am more in love with Claire everyday. She is changing so much now. Almost everyday she seems to do something different! She has just started trying to suck on her toes, lol.
-
Cass, they did the same thing with my friend!! Sent her back to ward a few times... she was so upset and frustrated and of course in pain. Get her out of there if you can honey!
Sarah, Caro has a thread on it and posted something she found off the govt website about it. The thread is under baby and toddler general discussion I think. All I can say is I've never seen a more serious look on my doc's face. I didn't get details as he was running behind even though he would've told me ... he did say yes twisted bowel (as Caro had said) and even worse. He said they are EXTREMELY severe side affects and the course has to be completed by 12 weeks. I can't remember why... ??
Karina, it's only a new vax and only being given to newborns is what my doc told me. Anyway, all our bubs are too old so we will just have to make sure we try to keep them away from this if we know ppl with it. Lol @ panadol... I know... did nothing huh! I was given ice to put there as well. They had these ice thingys which looked a bit like those ice blocks in the plastic tubes. The ice also helped numb it... lol. Awww they look so cute when they try to suck their toes... funny how it becomes really gross as they grow though huh! Oskar has discovered that something hangs between his legs... PMSL... he has started to feel his skin, his thighs and then he found it....!! It's only when he's naked, so pretty much in the bath but I have to watch him when changing him cos his hand has come pretty damn close to getting dirty IYKWIM. I soooo know what you mean about falling more in love... OMG I just look at him in awe sometimes.... ahhhh!!
Well, we had an unsettled night last night... every 2-3 hours. I am thinking it was probably the needles. Funny thing, where the bandaid was on the leg he got 2 needles - one spot went red and has a bit of a lump under it - smaller than pea... anyway, it's only the spot where the bandaid wasn't covering it properly. I think I will need a caffeine boost soon!! I had one this morning and usually only allow myself up to 3 in a 24 hour period... man I hope that's enough...lol. Other than that, he's been pretty good.
A while ago I found a piece of paper with a phone number on it... from a lady I used to work with almost 10 years ago. We became friends but lost touch after a few years. Anyway, I'd put it on the kitchen bench and it ended up under other crap which was accumulating on my bench. Yesterday I got so cranky with my bench being the dumping ground I cleaned it off while Oskar was sleeping. It looks great now :D Told Andy he's in trouble if he puts crap on it...lol. Anyway, I came across the number and I thought I'd send a text and just said Hi, it's Cass if you remember me... just stumbled across your number... blah blah. Then I thought oh hang on it had other more recent stuff written there and I thought it might have been the number of a lady off ebay I bought something off a little while ago and her name was the same so I sent another text saying oh sorry wrong person...lol. Well, turns out it was the RIGHT person cos she called me this morning! I'm still getting over it atm...lol. So, we're going to catch up next week I think. She's got 4 kiddies now, only had one back then.

Cass, the rotavirus vax sounds scary with all those horrible side effects. I'm just getting the schedule ones done for Claire. Oh yeah at the hospital they gave me frozen glove fingers, PMSL, it was water in gloves frozen!! If I were Claire, I wouldnt want to be sucking my toes - she has SMELLY feet. HAHAH on Oskars new discovery!!! How nice that you are catching up with your old workmate, I am crap at keeping in touch with people!
Claire is having a nap on the lounge next to me. She looks so cute when she sleeps. Actually, she looks just like my hubby does when he sleeps. She definately looks more like him than me. She sleeps in such a strange position too - I always look at her and wonder how she could possibly be comfortable at all. Bought a differnt type of nappy the other day and they are CRAPPY! I am getting a builder to come in tomorrow and fix my ceiling that was damaged a year ago. I am glad it got damaged because I have always wanted a new ceiling in that room. Bonus too I dont have to pay for it because the damage was caused by someone else!
Well that is my exciting life!
Cassblob, how is your friend doing? Has her baby been born yet? Is the hospital doing anything for her?
Sarah, i just noticed your new avatar, very nice.

last i heard she was ready to push... now im just waiting~!~!~! They better look after her, i think the nurses getting shyyty at me lol...

Desteney Louise weighs 4.4pounds / 2038grams ...
-
Karina... lol @ frozen water in gloves!!
Cass, great to hear her little bub is doing well. Is she still in special care? Such a little bubba. Too bad if the nurses were getting ****ty with you!! You were looking out for your friend.
We went to our first babes in arms this morning. Saw Harry Potter which was pretty good. My friend's little bubs had a grizzle and she was getting a bottle ready for her and can you believe someone up the back actually went SHHHH .... I mean... HELLO, IT'S A BABES IN ARMS SESSION IDIOT! lol. I found out though that you can take your bubs to any session but if it's not a babes in arms session and they start to get grizzly you have to go outside with them. Other than that we haven't done much today, walked around the shops for a little while and had some lunch.
-
Cassblob, congrats to your friend! Hope they start looking after her and her buba better. So tiny!
Cass, glad you enjoyed the movie! We are going to go to a babes in arms movie session in a few weeks, with my mums group. At our local cinema they have a sound proof room in the back of the theatre so you dont annoy everyone else in the theatre. I think its a bit freaky though, like being locked in a box, but you dont have to go in the box, its just for if you feel bad about disturbing everyone else or if you want a better place to feed baby. What a stupid idiot for shooshing your friend! Why would you go to a Babes in Arms session if you didnt wan to hear babies!
Some people I know (who I didnt even know were pregnant!) had a little girl yesterday, Eloise.
Got my new ceiling put in today and its very sexy. Much sexier than the old ceiling. Claire slept through half the time they were here, even though they were drilling and hammering and making HEAPS on noise. But now she is spewing up lots of milk. She has spewed about 15 minutes after I have finished feeding her for each feed today.
DH is out tonight till about 10pm, yet again. He has been out sunday-mon-tues-wed-thurs-sat-sunday-mon-tues-wed nights in addition to his usual full time work hours. He will be hearing stern words tonight when he gets home. Its not fair on us for him to be out so much like that. I feel like I am the lowest thing on his list of priorities and it makes me feel like crap.
ok thats enough whinging from me. Hope everyone has had a lovely day.

PMSL Caro. I was going to if they did it again. I was going to stand up and say UMMM HELLO!! BABES IN ARMS SESSION IDIOT!! ahem, lucky they didn't cos maybe they woulda bashed me!! lol. Movie rage!
Karina... I had to laugh when you called your ceiling sexy!! Oskar slept through them installing the a/c the other week too!! I was amazed, weird huh. Oooh naughty DH. I'd be majorly peeved at Andy if he did that as often as that! He's actually pretty good, but probably only cos he got in serious trouble once when he didn't actually tell me he was going to visit a friend on the way home from work and I was stressing he'd been in an accident. They don't have a box at the cinema I went to today, I don't think I'd use it though. It's nice being able to go and see a movie and not worry about having to walk out :D
Just popped some new piccies on the site. I have added a new album too cos I was going to have too many pics in the 12 wks up folder. So there are some new pics in the 12 wks to 4 mths folder (last 5 pics - numbers 30-35) and then 3 newies in the 4 mths - 6 mths.

Cass I am majorly peeved and hubby will be hearing all about it when he decides its time to see his wife and daughter. Oh, the ceiling is SEXY. Well you know, as much as a ceiling can be sexy LOL and even more sexy because I didnt have to pay for it (done through insurance). Oskar is such a cutie! The tray on the Bumbo looks cool - looks like you could use it like a high chair (sort of, iykwim)? We have that exact same teething thing (the keys), LOL but Claire hasnt got the hang of it yet. Hehe at his mullet, Claires got the same hair style too and a bald patch.
Oh yeah I have finally stopped losing heaps and heaps of hair, so that is a relief. I felt like I was going bald!
Right now I am pigging out on a block of choc. I am going to feel so sick later on from it, but I need choc right now. lol.

Long time no chat, we just put an ad on another forum (won't say what ;-) so have been busy.
Karina - Yes I finally gave up my pg avatar, but I'm not sure what DS is wearing in the new one???? Yum on the choccy and yeah for your 'sexy ceiling'. My hair loss has slowed down too, I had a scary moment the other day - putting it up and a whole chunk broke off in my hand - I looked like a gremlin :-)
Cass - serously someone did that ina babes in arms session???? did they have kids? Ari went to 3 movies in her first 3mth, I just take her to the regular ones an if she grumbles she goes onto the boob. I have more trouble with DS. Oskar is so cute, I seriously have to take more photos of my daughter. I have been chasing up the info on the roto vaccine and apparently it is only if the first dose is given after 12wks and the next dose must be before 6mth.
Nothing exciting happening here ... doobee doobee twiddling thumbs, better go clean house
