Oh little destiny was so small! Half of izzy when izzy was born!!~!~! She's doing great, not on oxygen or anything. still in NICU until she reaches 2.5kgs.
Cass i can't believe some shhhhd ur friend. And Oskar is soooooo cute!~!~ Not many photo's of you in there tho, Must be behind the camara all the time i take it :)
Karina... Whsat kind of a ceiling is sexy, is it different to a normal ceiling? hehe.. Glad you like it, and well done clair sleeping while they worked... OMG bout your hubby!
nothing much else to report here, gotta get ready to go to play group, and get out of house coz cleaner is comming... So gotta get a move on... See ya!
-
I am usually at mums group on thursday, but they havent been sending me the messages to tell me where its on at. Maybe they dont like me, I dont know.
ok Well I told off my hubby and rang him and told him to come home earlier, which he did. He doesnt seem to get it somtimes though. If someone asks him to do something, he will do it at the drop of a hat, which is nice and all but hello, what about spending time with your family? I suppose I just get annoyed because I had to stop working, give up the other stuff I did like yoga and other social things, but his commitments havent changed since Claire was born. Ok well that should hopefully be the last of my whinge!
Any how, apart from all that, Claire had a good night once hubby got home. She slept well and so I got some sleep as well until hubby started snoring like a fog horn. Claire snores too sometimes but only a tiny bit and no where near as loud as hubby. now she is having some booby. Claire loves booby.

Hi everyone...long time no post! I have been lurking in the background, reading all the happenings but haven't had time to post. 2 nights ago I wrote out a nice long post and tried to post it but they were doing upgrades or something at the time and it wouldn't post - I was rather annoyed because I had spend a fair amount of time writing it. Afraid I don't have time to do personals at the moment as Grace will be waking for a feed anytime. Just wanted to say hi. Our nights have gotten better again - had a terrible night on Saturday night where Grace was up pretty much all night - but then have had some fantastic nights this week, one night she slept from 7pm to 8am and last night she slept from 7.30pm to 7am - so that is much nicer. Have been really encouraging her to have a longer sleep in the afternoon - she will still wake after 30mins but I won't get her up and tap her back to sleep in her rocker and she goes back and then usually sleeps for another hour to hour and a half and this seems to be helping. She rolled 4 times the other day but hasn't done it again since, but I suspect that it won't be too long now and then I won't be able to just leave her anywhere, so I am really taking advantage of this for now!! Have cramped a muscle around my shoulder blade this morning and it really hurts to move my right arm or to breath so hope that fixes up soon. Off to gold coast in 2 weeks and 2 days (not that i'm counting) and I notice that it is forecast 25 degrees today and 26 degrees tomorrow - i really really hope we get that weather when we are up there, I am dying for some warmth, plus I really want to take Grace swimming while we are up there - that is nice swimming weather. Have put some more photo's on the website. Can't believe that she is 5 months old next week, it has gone so fast. Sorry can't do personal for now, but hope everyone is doing well, enjoying life and hopefully I will get a chance to get back on soon.
-
Grace still asleep so had a quick look at some photo's - Cass, Cass and Karina - gorgeous - can't believe how quickly they are all growing up. Karina, I have a flickr account too so I added you as a contact. I've been meaning to ask, how did you do it so that you click on the word photo's and it links to them rather than having the entire link in the signature? It looks so much nicer the way you have it.
-
Awww thanks girls :D I think he is too! I think it's cos he's got such a little round head and face and big eyes and smile... hehe.
Karina, Oskar hasn't got the hang of the keys thing yet either. You can use the bumbo as a high chair type of thing... well a floor chair but yes he can use it when eating. OMG chocolate, lately I've been eating it like it's going out of fashion!! I mean I've craved it! Can you get BF cravings? lol. Mind you when it comes out the other end with Oskar it's all rather smelly!!! Oh Andy had the really heavy breathing thing down pat last night so I pushed him so he'd roll over..lol. I couldn't sleep!! I'm glad your DH came home early though. Sometimes they do drop everything to help someone else and they just seem to forget they've been away from home for ages!! Men! You whinge when you need to hun! Ok, take a pic of this sexy ceiling ;) I think I need to see it..lol. I'm sure the other mum's like you!! Maybe just text one of them to find out where...?? It can be hard sometimes huh.. I've noticed in our group that there is kind of a subgroup as well. Then there's the group which go to swimming lessons.
Sarah and Cass... yes she was seriously shushed!! So rude I know! Sarah, they were ppl without kids, but still not the point. That ONE session per week is especially for ppl with little ones so they don't have to worry about that very thing!
Sarah, I haven't actually looked into the roto vax at all, just went off my docs advice. Maybe that's what he meant that if he didn't have first dose before 12 weeks. Not that it matters to me cos it wasn't around then so it's not an issue and he's not getting it. He's only really just come good yesterday from his needles on Monday. Still woke a bit early this morning but other than that a lot better. Yes, you need to share some piccies of Ari!! I bet she's grown heaps since I saw you!
Cass, she sounds so little. It's great she isn't on oxygen or anything. Must be a strong little one. lol @ me not in pics, yep pretty much mostly me taking them. I do have some but I look totally zombied or it's in the morning before I've done my hair and still have jimjams on... BAD BAD LOOK! So, those ones I'm sorry do not get shared... I love ya's... but ummm NO!...lol.
Rachel, Grace is growing up so much! She's just so cute. She looks like she loves cuddles. I love bubs who love cuddling. Oskar loves it so it's good :D I totally hate it when you write up a big post and it disappears or logs you out and won't log you back in etc. It makes me feel so angry sometimes cos it's not like your time is your own with a bubba. Good to hear she's sleeping better. 5 months?? Already??? OMG where has the time gone? We're all going to be talking about their 1st birthdays soon :(
Oskar did a lot better last night, so he must be feeling better after his needles on Monday. It was funny after his feed I put him on his belly on the lounge so I could turn off the computer and then put him to bed. He had a little chuck and rubbed his face in it, so I had to clean him...lol. Then I just put him on his back on the lounge cos he was awake from me cleaning his face. Anyway, he laid there for a while and played with my fingers then he was getting grizzly, so I literally just flipped him over and he went to sleep almost instantly when he was on his tummy!! I'm talking millisecond. Was hillarious. I just looked at him and thought WT you strange little man..it was like... on my back I am awake, on my belly I am asleep. Better go, he's grumpy and wants booby NOW! Like he's starving huh... he has rolls on his legs!
-
Rachel, how nice that Grace had a long sleep the other night. WTG on her rolling! Clever girl. Claire also did it a few times then not again for another couple of days. Hope your shoulder gets better. OOhh i would love to go to the gold coast right now. Its so cold in sydney, although today was very warm. I cant believe its been 5 months - it has gone so fast! I just saw your new photos. Grace is so beautiful! I added you in flickr too! I didnt even know there was a function for that! for my sig, I went into the settings to edit my sig, wrote the word "photos" then I highlighted it, pressed the hyperlink button ( it has a world globe and a chain link on it, above the signature box with all the other buttons) and a box popped up to put the link to my photos. Hope that makes sense!
Cass, BF is a perfectly valid reason for needing chocolate! Hehe i think I might have to take a pic of my sexy ceiling. The builder is coming back to paint it next week. Its only sexy because it looks so much nicer than the last ceiling which was in like 10 different panels and had gone all crinkly and the panels had shrunk because of water damage. Yeah the mums group I go to are lovely, but I feel a bit funny sometimes because they are all much older than me. I think I just need to bite the bullet and get over my stupid shyness!
Just went up to the local TAFE Library (my local Council one is tiny and only has like 5 shelves of books!!) and I had about 8 different people stop me and talk to me about Claire as I was walking through the college grounds to the library. Then the Loans lady was talking about her little girl who is also named Claire! Anyhow, Claire was great and didnt get cranky at all, and I was in the library for a really long time as I coudlnt find the book I wanted. I was expecting her to get grumpy as she often does when I go into libraries. I also went to Reece to check out their bathroom cabinets and got talking to the girl there. I swear we live in the same building! So that was my ultra exciting day.
Claire is now lying on the couch going "geeegeeeegeeee" and gurgling, and trying to suck on her toes. What is it with a babys fascination with their toes! Claire LOVES her toes at the moment!
-
Hehe cass... That's alright :) I like been behind the camara too :)
Thanks Racheal - they are all gorgeous!
karina - I love going out and getting stoped by randoms talking about izzy hehe...
Izzy has her 2 bottem teeth! I can't wait for them to come out a bit more and i'll take a photo, gonna look sooo cute! Mothers group was fun today we did some cooking and chatting!~! It's great to have no guys around, can get up to michief (sp?)...Anyways gotta go give izzy some din din! Take care :)
-
Cass - oh congrats to your friend that is awesome that bub is doing so well. How is your friend feeling after being through everything! Yeah on the teeth, can't wait to see pics.
Karina - if it makes you feel better my mums group piked on me today too oh well cleaned my house for no good reason but at least it's clean now.
Rachel - was wondering how you were, good to hear Grace is sleeping well for you.
Ok now wait for it dum dum da.... Ari slept from.... 8pm to 5am this morning OMG!. She did her usual fussing from 8-10pm but just needed resettling then slep through. Couldn't believe it. Wish I had gone to bed earlier. Bit the bullet and went and got her needles today and had the best nurse, ari didn't even cry for the first two and she has no bruises or anything. She even spoke to me and sounded so sincere when she was talking to Ari! Told her I wanted to book her in for next time. Oh and I took some photos today - well I tried as the little boogar wouldn't sit still rolling all over the lounge room floor :-) Will put them up soon
-
OKey dokey here is the link, hope it works
photos of ari

She's Gorgeous Sarah!~!~!~
Izzy has that damn flu!~!~ I'm thinking she caught it from mothers group yesterday coz both my friend and her child has it now too! i'll be gald when this flu season is over, It's been driving me with sooo much worry!
-
Awww Sarah, she's just getting more and more beautiful. Ari, WTG little princess!!!! I have my fingers crossed for you Sarah. I hope it's the start of great things for you! :D
Cass, I hope Izzy gets better fast! I was going to either tell you something or ask you something and now I can't remember what it was!! I remember last night when I went to bed I thought oh I meant to ask/tell you something and that I'd tell you today. Well, as it goes my brain has gone on holidays and I can't think what it was dammit!
Karina, I love how you describe your ceiling. You need to get out more though ;) hehe
Hmmm... ok, here's a TMI story. I think I have my first AF. I didn't think you got it when BF though? I had a bit of a funny tummy this morning and thought OMG I hope I don't have that gastro thing! Oskar was a bit fussy with feeding which was odd for the first feed of the day. It wasn't until about 1/2 hour ago that I noticed it when I went to the toilet. I kinda feel like crying in a way.. I don't know firstly if it's normal and secondly... I'm not ready for MORE changes!! Man, that's all it's been for over a year... changes and I can't keep up...lol. ahhhhhhh. Oh and I am seriously struggling over to have or not have another bubba.
-
Sarah, Ari is such a cutie and what a handsome little guy Xander is!
Cassblob, hope Izzy gets better soon.
Cass, bummer about getting AF. I thought you could get it though when BF. Thats what the ECHN told me. She said you can but if you do its just that you are "unlucky" and AF will probably be irregular, or you might get one and then not another for months. YEah I do need to get out more often but its too cold and I have been lazy.
Slept better last night so I am happy. Claire slept in our bed and didnt wake up as frequently as she normally does. I think we definately need more room in our bed if she is going to in there more often. Poor hubby squished himself into the corner cos he didnt want to squish Claire!
-
Oh Cass - bummer about AF, I got mine back at 7-8mths with DS and he was still feeding every 1 1/2 - 2hrs day and night I was so peeved. I thought I got them back at 7wks pp this time but haven't seen them again since early june and hpt is neg so guess not. I have finally come to terms with not having another bubba. It still aches when I walk past a maternity shop with the cute little belly maniqueins, or see a squishy newborn or a pg lady but I know it's right for us to be the family we are now. Having said that, if DH doesn't get the snip soon and we have an accident I won't be disappointed.
Karina - welcome to the joys of co-sleeping :-) I love sleeping with ari as she doesn't wake as often, is essier to settle and I don't have to get up but when DS joins us about 5-6am for a snuggle it gets seriously crowded :-)
-
Cass - i've done that quite a frew times comming to post, then sitting here for 10mins trying to think about what! lol... Bummer bout Af, I got mine back just before i went to tazzie, now havn't had them since... I'm sick of all these body changes too!
Karina - Glad you had a better night sleep :)
Hehe, wanted to share some of the funny things Izzy is doing atm. They are very cute...
- As you know she is teething, so everything is going into her mouth, the other day i was trying to give her kisses and she had hold of my face pulling her head closer to suck on my face it was very cute!
- In the mornings she'll be laying next to me, and if i don't answer her straight away she does this 'yelling talking' speech to get my attention, if i give her attention and roll over again, she'll doing it again! Hehe another very cute!
But the funniest thing we seen is when she goes crazy kicking legs and throwing arms about when she sees my boobys (food) lol, it's like i have been starving her for ages and she just has to have them straight away! hehehe
-
Howdy!
Karina, that's awesome you had a better sleep. Makes you feel so good huh! Just like when Oskar was not happy the other night after his needles and I was waking all night I felt like crap and it took me days to get over it, I felt so happy when he was back to sleeping again! Oskar is in bed with me after his first feed in the morning and Andy has gone to work.
Sarah, you wouldn't believe how many pg ladies I've seen lately... OMG THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!! I saw at least 5 just this morning *sighs*. Then this TINY little bubba, I reckon it was smaller than Oskar ever was!! I think I need help...lol cos I don't know that I particularly want to stop having bubba's IYKWIM? Actually yes I think you do know what I mean!!
Cass.. OMG HOW CUTE!! Make sure she doesn't get your hair when she's holding your face..hehe. Oskar gets all excited when he sees me getting ready to feed him too, his eyes almost pop out of his head!! lol.
Well AF seems to have just about gone? I guess this is normal when BF too huh?? It was only soooo light though... I was going to say something else as well but took it out as it might cross the TMI line for some. Oskar is asleep on my lap atm... looks so adorable.
-
Cassblob, how cute about Izzy trying to suck on your face! Claire has begun holding onto my boobies when I feed her, like its a bottle. Its very bizarre!
Cass, I am so not looking forward to having AF return. Its been so nice not having to worry about it for the last 14 months! I did get told though from my GP that AF could be completely different when it returns.
Sarah, i LOVE snuggling Claire! Even just with the three of us in bed its a bit crowded but we re working around that.
Been out all day getting new bathroom bits as we are doing some minor reno's. We got a SEXY cabinet to compliment our new SEXY ceiling, PMSL. We were in the shop for AGES and Claire was so good. I seriously thought that she ws going to screm the place down, but she actually fell asleep in my arms.
Oh and I'm looking for csual jobs! Just because I want some extra $. I might see if there are any holiday jobs, just during school holidays and stuff as well.
My A button is not working very well so sorry if some of my words dont look like words, they are probably just missing their A. I spilt water into my computer the other day and A stopped working properly then.
-
Karina- PMSL at your little 'A' problem. That would be so frustrating but it sounds hilarious. Then again it has been a long day and I think I have the tired giggles
Cass_blob - oh that is so cute!!! Ari gets the giggles when i get ready to feed her and then today I actually gave her both sides and when she sat up she was staring at my boobs looking from one to the other grinning like "hey there's two of them - woohoo"
Cass - I know exactly where you're coming from about wanting more bubba's. In another thread on the topic some of the ladies suggested finding something else to look forward to or getting a hobby. I think the new business has taken over the hobby thing and DH and I are looking forward to doing some serious travelling in the next few years, so I am focusing on that. Oh and you should know nothing is tmi around here. my goodness only five months ago we were talking about mucous plugs and the best places to put ice packs :-)
On a completely off topic note want to hear something hilarious. Yesterday DH and I both took Ds to school and while we were out our dog (size of a small horse) got his head stuck in one of those mopping buckets with the squeezers(hehe) Apparently he was running around the yard running into buildings and trees like a nut case until our neighbore rescued him. He has completely lost the respect of all the school kids who walk past our house (who he usually scares the 5@*! out of :-)
-
Sarah.. PMSL @ your dog... OMG how hillarious that would've been to see. I'm assuming that he's not hurt though. Hmmm I'm not sure that a hobby or such would do it for me. My main concern really is how sick I got there for a while when Oskar was around 6 wks old... was a major vertigo flare up and I keep thinking what if that happened again but I also had Oskar to look after... WTF would I do then?? I mean at least when I was in bed for days Oskar was little enough that he basically just fed and slept in bed with me. I think I need to talk to my doc about it more... cos I really think I'd like to have another bubba. The other things are.. I'm guessing it would be nice for Oskar to have someone to grow up with... but then if we don't have another one then we could basically be able to have Oskar do whatever he wanted, as in sports or music or whatever cos we'd only have one to afford if that makes sense.
Karina, I was contemplating this afternoon doing some kind of casual work on a Saturday or Sunday just for my mind. Andy could look after Oskar and feed him with EBM. Just a passing thought at the moment though, not sure how I'd feel if I took it further than that yet...lol. OMG girl... have you DTD lately or is that the problem that you haven't??? PMSL @ everything being sexy.
We were at the shops for ages this morning as well cos I was talking to Andy about his birthday pressie (not till Sept). I know what I want to get but he kinda has to actually do the final choosing of it cos it's power tools and well it's a personal thing. So we went to Bunnings and Oskar was getting lessons in what things were. It was cool though cos I looked at some kitchen displays as well cos I wanna do some minor reno's on our kitchen cos firstly, I HATE my oven/stove and want to put in a cooktop and oven and also need a new rangehood cos mine doesn't work and the ppl who owned the house before ... I swear they NEVER cleaned it and the filter thingy is all smashed in and it is all GRIMEY!! It's soooo gross. Then we went to the shopping centre cos I wanted a new kettle and to show Andy some things I want...lol... hmmm some new shoes.. but you see here's the thing.. they're Colorado's and they're 40% off and I LOVE THEM! So they're $54.. LIKE OMG! Don't have my size though, but if I show him then he'll say if I really want them to get them...hehe. Not that he'd stop me anyway, but I kinda like to discuss things if they cost more than about $50 cos I'd get annoyed if he just went and bought stuff all the time cos sometimes we both forget about a bill and the other remembers so it's all good. Oh... and on the way home we passed a garage sale.. and got 2 really nice bedside tables for $15. Really solid they are. The ones we have are soooo tacky so I'm happy I have nice ones now :)
Well, better go and decide what's for dinner I guess.

Hi everyone...
I've buggard my back! 2 days ago I woke up and twisted funny and cramped the muscle around my right shoulder blade and it hasn't eased up...really really painful especially when I have to hold Grace and put her to the breast. On Thursday when I did it I was lucky as DH was home and he did everything with Grace (except feed), but he went back to work yesterday so I just had to grin and bare it...if it doesn't ease up I may have to go to the physio, or a friend I know says they know a good myotherapist so I may give them a go - I need someone to work my whole back as it is always so stiff - has anyone else found this? Especially across my shoulders, I think from holding Grace all the time. A good poke and prod would feel wonderful!
Cass - Grace loves her cuddles, she is a real mummy's girl. It is getting worse lately though - i'm thinking seperation anxiety, if she is with a stranger or someone she isn't around all of the time and I leave the room I come back to a screaming Grace. If someone else is holding her she doesn't take her eyes off me. What a bugger about AF. I am dreading the day it returns - I would love for it to stay away until next year!
Cass - wow on Izzy's teeth. That's great - must admit though I am so glad Grace isn't doing that yet - not with BF still! Glad your friends bub is going to be ok. How's Izzy today? Don't they do the cutest things! Today Grace did the most cutest thing but in a way I thought it was a bit mean - my dad was holding her (pop) and he was drinking a can of scotch and coke, anyway he pretended to hand it to Grace and she looked up, her eyes popped our of her head, she reached out with both hands, mouth wide open and she was shaking!! She was so excited, but then of course it had to be taken away. It was so funny but I felt really bad as she obviously thought it was a bottle or something. My mum took a photo so I'll post when it comes back.
Sarah - Is Ari continuing to sleep through for you? You must have felt strange having that much sleep. Sounds like your business is just taking off, did you expect it to go so well? The photo's are just gorgeous. Your poor dog! Would have been funny to watch though.
Karina - I am going to apply for a casual job soon too, must admit the money thing worries me a bit. I'm waiting for Latrobe uni to fix something up so that I can apply for a casual nursing job with a higher qualification which would mean more money. Will call them next week if I don't hear from them soon.
Have a christening to go to tomorrow, can't remember the last christening I've been to. Should be nice. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. Counting down till we got to QLD, it was so cold here today.
-
Cass - nice shopping! I went on a bit of a spree too. Went into Target to get a b'day pressie for 1 yr old nephew (more about that later) and ended up walking out with a pack of photo frames and a new dinnerset (we don't really own a matching dinner set and we have 4 people now.. right so this makes sense.. yes - this is what I'm going to try and rationalise to DH) I am the same, hate buying anything for myself over $50. I bought my most expensive pair of shoes EVER when we were in brissie - a pair of boots for $89 (60% off! - still felt bad) I hope you can work out something on the bubba front. Health issues are one thing that DH had to remind me of too. I'm sure you could work something out with DH if you did get sick again - was it related to pg/birth?
Oh Rachel, there is nothing worse than a sore back! Oh yes a massage sounds blisfull. Wish we were going to be in Brissie when you come down :-(
You know what - we should organise a national bellybelly march babies meet up next March, where do most of us live?
-
Sarah, pmsl about your dog!!! Tht would have been funny to see. My A problem is kinda funny, but I suppose I shouldnt have removed the A from the keyboard to get the water out as I dont think I put it back on properly.
Cass, hehehe the sexy stuff I write about about isnt the same kind of sexy as my hubby, LOL, I just called the cabinet sexy cos you laughed at me when I sid the ceiling ws sexy! I just want a casual job for some me time and for the extra cash. I think I woudl probably miss Claire though! Oh I hte dirty cooktops and rangehoods. Yuk, i hte other peopes grime on rangehoods, lol. YAY on the bedside tables.
Rachel, I have found that I do sometimes have a stiff back/shoulders area especially at times that Claire has been feeding lots or I have been holdng her lots. Hope you bck pain eases up though. What is myotherapy? I have never even heard of it. I reckon a massage would feel lovely!
-
Hi everyone! I am still around, just going through some "stuff" at the moment. I went back to uni this week, well, technically, I haven't gone "back" as I am doing the unit externally, but I am back to doing the work! Have ben thinking a lot about what I want to do with my life after my babies grow up (that is, Nic goes off to school) as we have decided that I will stay at home until then. I am still a volunteer though, so I just do what I can from home ATM which is great. I am really lucky that hubby's business means that I don't have to go back to work for the income, and that I can still do the work I want through volunteering so I feel as though I am still contributing to society!! And the all important adult conversation!!
Anyway, enought about me! Nic is beautiful! I really need to post more pics, will do that this week. He has had another cold this week, with a terrible cough, so I have been very worried due to this terrible flu that has been killing babies in Perth in the last few weeks. Luckily though, the GP checked him out and he is fine, and is definitley getting better now thanks to the vapouriser in his room. I am heading out to the markets across the road from me with my neightbour shortly, as I have a craving to do some gardenning since the weather is nice today. Yesterday, I weeded while Nic was in his swing checking out the world. He loves being outside. He has started yelling too! I was thinking that maybe he was just telling me he was tired or grumpy, but I think he is just doing it to get my attention. As soon as I look at him, he grins at me! I think he is also getting his first tooth, down the bottom. I can see it there, but it hasn't come through yet. Jas didn't get her first until she was about 7 months, but I remember being able to see hers a lot eralier than that too.
I am glad to hear everyone else is going great, and that all the bubbas are doing well. I will try to keep up with the posts so I can do personals again!
-
Cass – She Grasp the hair too! I’m going to have to learn to put it up! I love how they get all excited! Colorado’s for $50 that’s a bargain! Where where where??? I love Colorado’s they so comfy! I like going to garage sales to! Get some great bargains!
Karina – It’s cute when she has a good hold on the boob! Bugger bout you’re a button, I’m actually going very well with this keyboard apart from the few crumbs nothing has been split! Yet, lol
Saram – That is cute Ari looking at both sides! PMSL at your dog! Now that would have been a site to see ;)
Rachel – That doesn’t sound good about your back, I hope it feels better soon! I used to get a bad back after some shifts at work (as a assistant in nurse) some patients would just fall on me, really hurt the back, so I feel your pain! Massages always work wonders! Acupuncture works a treat to!
Thanks, the teeth are starting to get a bit more painful the more they poke out! Grin and bear it!~!~ hehe! Tim was doing that to Izzy the other day with his can! She gets so excited!
When you come to QLD?
Jomarie – I go back to uni next year… good luck with your studies! Hope Nic feels better, I hate this flu season!
Izzy is feeling much better, luckily she didn’t get a bad flu! It took from 9.30 till 3 o’clock to get her to have a nap today! She feel asleep around 12ish while I was reading her a story, then woke up 15mins later, she was getting so cranky! But nicely asleep now!
I’m gonna share a totally embarrassing TMI story that happen last night, While me an DP were DTD last night again an again an again ;) finally finished and the condom was gone! Like we searched everywhere it was gone! We found it inside me! I have never had that happen before! Totally freaked me out!
Okay going now ... after i left's youse with that lovely image! haha... ohhh boy!
-
Ooooooh aaaaahhh Cass! I've actually had that happen once a LONG time ago. I hope you don't stress about a "possibility" though. Good Izzy is feeling better :) The shoes are actually at the Colorado shop themselves!!! I couldn't believe that they were cheaper than Williams and they're like about 3 shops apart...hehe. I'm gonna ring up the Toombul and Chermside stores tomorrow and see if they have the ones I want in my size and drive there if I have to cos I REALLY like them :)
Rachel, I've been getting majorly sore back... a lot of it from around the middle up and my neck too, particularly one side which is the side I usually hold Oskar on. It's so bad sometimes that I have to just put him down to give myself a break. Hmmm don't know what you could do with Grace getting upset with others like that :(
Sarah, it isn't pg/birth related which is why it is something on my mind. I'm the same with shoes too, but having said that such a great bargain like your boots is like OMG! I have such a bad problem with shoes...lol... I LOVE 'EM!
Jo, great to hear from you!! I've been wanting to some stuff in the garden as well, but we're coming into a bit of a cold snap again and we're going to be getting some lovely cold westerly winds over the next few weeks, so not the right time. What volunteer work do you do?
Karina, you make me laugh :P
I have a sore throat atm :( It better not turn into anything!! I've been a bit cranky today so I'm not sure what it is, maybe I'm just a bit tired I don't know. We might be selling our business too, had some people look at the equipment today. It will be good in a way cos we just haven't the time to build it up at the moment and it's a bit of a burden in a way. So, I think we'll know during the week if they want it or not. We're not selling to make a profit, just to get out even pretty much.

Cass_blob - look out could be Cass_blob#2 very soon hehe. Wish I had that much energy.
Cass- oh I love chermy! Used to live right near there when we lived in Brissie. I was blown away by hoe HUGE it is now!
Jomarie - hope nic is feeling better soon and good luck with uni
OK gotta go grab the rolling nudey - she is half way across the room with no nappy on

Hi everyone, my name is Jen and I had my little Sam on 21st March. I have only been on here for about a month so I thought I'd just say hi! I went back to work at the beginning of June because from when Sam was 7 weeks old he started sleeping thru the night, everyone tells me how spoilt I am lol. I started him on solids about 3 weeks ago when he started waking up hungry thru the night, and since I have done that he has been an even happier baby. Is anyone here from the Newcastle area???
-
Sarah, I went to Chermside today...lol. I called the Colorado shop there this morning and they HAD MY SHOES! So well I just HAD to get them ;) I didn't realise they'd moved so I had to go wandering around, which really was such a horrid thing..lol. It's soooo huge there now it's crazy! One thing though is a lot of the new shops feel really snobby and like I'm too "common" for them...pmsl IYKWIM? I had fun though and Oskar was a little champ and oh of course was being a charmer to the shop assistants..lol.
Welcome Jen :) I was born in Newcastle but that's about the extent of it, I haven't been there in many years now. Sounds like you've got a great little bub. What work do you do? Was it the same job as before you had Sam?
Oh, almost forgot!! Yesterday Oskar didn't sleep too much.... which was fine he wasn't too unhappy. Anyway, I fed him around 6 cos he was whingy and he fell asleep - nothing unusual about that - and normally if he does this will wake by 8pm for a bath etc... well no, not last night!! He was sleeping on the lounge, in his tracky and unwrapped (still wrap him from under the arms at night). So, I carefully picked him up around 9ish and wrapped him, put him in his hammock and he slept right through until aroun 6:20 this morning!!! I had to give him a gentle rock around 5ish...but poor little possum must've been tired! Only the second time he's ever done that for that long!
-
Cass - that's great that Oskar slept for so long! Nic has gone back to waking a couple of times a night, once for a feed, and usually once or twice for his dummy. I am hoping that when we start solids, he may go back to sleeping through . The work I do at the moment is with refugees. I am on the board of a community legal centre. I am setting up our website ATM, providing content and the layout, and working on some staffing issues (reviews etc). I also do some communtity development work and finding applications for them.
I am hoping to do some work with the Women's Health Service over here too once I get more settled. They do counselling for women on issues from PND to Alcohol and drug problems.
Cass - Blob - Naughty you! That will teach you to have a good time!!
Hi Jen! Lucky you, little Sam sounds like a dream baby!
Sarah - I have this image of Ari rolling across the room, so cute!
Has anyone heard from Caro? I wonder how the christening went? I might email her...
Well, not much going on here. Nic has taken to screetching at the top of his voice today for some reason. It's horrendous! He is so loud for such a little person. He didn't sleep at all today, and just wanted to play with me, so I got nothing else done! Luckily, I ordered my groceries online, so I could do it with him on my lap. The weather here is shocking today, really windy and rainy, so miserable.
-
Ok I am at my wits end for 2 days now ari has not slept unless someone is holding her - I think my arms have fallen out of their sockets, so is not a lightweight. Seriously as soon as her little head hits the pillow she screams and I don't mean whinge I mean scream. I have given her panadol - no effect, she has no temp, no swollen gums, no ear pulling. I am so exhausted I could cry. Poor DS has been so neglected today as mummy has been so tied up with DD ( great now I'm refering to myself in the third person) She has been down now for 30 min which is her longest sleep in 2 days so I'm expecting her up any second now.
Jomarie - love that screetching sound :-) I think caro said she was taking some time out in another thread.
Cass- oh don't you love all the kids stores in chermy though! Yes know what you mean about he snobby stores, the floor and everything is different in that part. DH wants to open a nappy store in chermy - got to love him.
Hi Jen - wow can sam come and teach ari how to sleep.
-
Sarah, I sympathise - I had the same with Claire today. She would fall asleep as soon as I picked her up but if I tried to put her down she would scream! I coldnt even go to the loo without her kicking up a stink about it. So there I ws sitting on the couch with her on my chest for like 2 hours! I hope Ari sleeps well for you tonight.
Hi jen. Sam sounds like such a great sleeper. I wish Claire would sleep like that sometimes! I'm in sydney!
Jo, how cute about Nic screetching. I agree its amazing how such small people can make such big noises! Woohoo about ordering groceries online. I bet that would make things a whole lot easier!
Cass hope your throat is feeling better.
Ooh I went out today and bought a new bf bra! Its lacy and pretty. That was my exciting day.
But silly me tonight, I cooked a pasta bake for dinner and dropped it as I ws taking it out of the oven. I am so unco! It made a huge noise as I dropped the dish on the glass bit of the oven door, but the huge noise didnt even wake Claire! But now I have a cut and bruise on my leg from where it hit me. DH thought I had blown something up!
We've been co-sleeping with Claire te last few nights and she is sleping for longer, but still waking up overnight. I think she just likes the company and comfort of having us right there with her.

Hi girls, thankyou for the warm welcome!
I'm not sure why Sam sleeps so well, all I have done for the past few months is tried to set him into a sort of routine. If he's not awake by 7.30-8am I wake him up. I change his bum, give him a bottle and I lay him on the floor with his toys for about an hour while I have breakfast. Then I give him 1/2 a weetbix mixed with formula (he loves it), then he usually goes off and has a nap, then 4 hours after his first bottle he has his second one (usually around 12ish) about 30 mins after the bottle he has some fruit, usually a mashed banana or a jar of apples or pears. Then he has another little nap until around 2 then wakes up and we have a play and he rolls around on the floor again. Then at 4pm he has another bottle, at 5-5.30pm I give him his vegies (usually just potato, pumpkin, brocoli, cauliflour and carrot) mixed with a bit of formula and then after that he sleeps until after 7pm which is great cause I get to eat dinner without it being stone cold lol, then at around 8.30pm he has his last bottle, he stays up for 15-20 mins with daddy and then I give him a little rock in his room with his music playing (its this little star that attaches to the side of his cot that plays lullabyes and projects little images on the ceiling) then once the eyes get heavy I pop him into his cot and then he sleeps right thru to the next morning.
Since I have put him on this routine he has slept even better, he doesnt call out during the night at all anymore.
As for my job Ozzie, yeah I work at a Farm Machinery dealership, we sell tractors and machinery and repair them etc and I work in the spare parts section, I kinda keep the stock under control for all our branches (we have 4 including the one I work at, its kinda the head office). I also do a little bit of graphic design (self taught) so I put the ad's together for The Land newspaper and things like that. Its not too bad a job, I was lucky thru my pregnancy as I worked up until 2 weeks before I had him and I went back to work when Sam was 2-1/2 months old because he slept so well so did I. But if I had my way I wouldn't be back at work but living on one wage is a bit hard so this just makes our life that little bit easier so we can afford to buy Sam all the things we want to.
Well I'd better start doing something, i'm at work at the moment.....LOL
-
Also, I should ad that Sam is in size 0 clothing, he is 71cm long (my god he is a long baby lol) and he is 8.5kg.....so he needs all his food to keep him from being hungry! And don't get me wrong, I don't feed him massive meals or anything, just small servings!

Cass – Sarah – Jomarie: Hehe, it was wonderful, the energy comes from DP tho, who can resist a man with brut on! Yummy! Lol! Not worrying about the ‘possibility’, if it happens, it happens, if not practice never hurt hehe… Although I’d like it to happen a little later down the track… But I think I got AF, haha I don’t even realize when I have it these days its soooooooooo damn light, I’m talking a couple of smudges that’s it…
Cass – Does you live near chermside? – that’s right near my nana’s house (Stafford) I must say I have only ever been toombal shopping once, totally got the too snobby for me feeling lol!
Jen – Welcome Sam sounds like the perfect lil sleeper! Izzy has been on solids since 4 months too, I found she settled soo much easier! Did you know that it is recommended babies don’t have weetbix? Sounds like you have a good routine there
Jomarie – I hope Nic settled for you a little more today…
Sarah – how is Ari doing? Hope she is settling for you better, and you got some sleep… Izzy has had moments like that lately, where she would only go to sleep if she has hold of my hand, the minute I let go she is screaming!
Karina – Wahoo on the bra, Is anyone else finding the bf bra’s so more comfy then the normal ones? Ohhh noo about your dinner, I would have sat there an cried! Co-sleeping is good, much easier tho when Dp goes to work in the morning lol, more room
Well izzy’s two bottom teeth have been givin her quite a bit of grief the past couple of days, I’ve had quite a few screaming matches, my poor lil girl, hate seeing her in pain! But she does look awfully cute with them hehe!
Izzy is now in the cot full time, bassinet gone ready for Chris (friends baby) to use now… I must say, I have had more of a problem with izzy going to the cot then what she has! She starts her Aqua movements class this Friday, so looking forward to that…
Ok, Allsaints is on! i'm missing it, better go, ciao~!
-
Jen, Izzy is also going into some size 0 clothes for length wise to!!!
-
Well little Ari is asleep on my lap, still no sleep today. We are looking into an amby hammock to see if that helps but its a lot of money if its not going to work. Desperately looking for my copy of the no cry sleep solution.
I bought Ari some size 0 clothes and I am soooo peeed as they are still tight around her little belly and upper arms - she is such a fatty :-) Luckily my SIL has just started up a biz selling childrens clothes so woohoo! Let me know if you would like the web addy as they are having a sale at the moment.
-
Jen - Wow, Sam is a star isn't he? My DD was like that, she just ate, slept and played. Mind you, I may be in denial as it was a long time ago now, so I may just be remembering the good days!
Cass - Do you still have Izzy in your room in her cot? I must say, I didn't miss Nic going into his cot in his own room, he is such a noisy sleeper!
Sarah - I hope Ari has a better day tomorrow. Nic has been like that the last 3 days too, except that he won't sleep in my arms either! Little bugger. I think he has a tooth coming through though so that would explain his grumpiness.
I am going to try him on rice cereal tomorrow too as he has gone right off his bottles for some reason (maybe his teeth??), and he is waking through the night as he is hungry. I started Jas at 5 months, but she took ages to get the hang of it!
-
Jen, wow Sam sleeps so much more thn Claire!! She just lies or sits down and laughs for half the day. I hve no ide what is so funny though! and she only has two small naps during the day.
Cass, yes my BF bras are so much more comfy than my other ones, but I always used to wear underwire so thats probably why! Co-sleeping is great cos I dont hve to walk around the house to go to Claire at night, and if she wants a feed I can just flop out a boob for her, lol, EASY! I am sure I am going to cop all the "rod for your back" comments from my fmily though. Oh gosh, if only I hd the energy you do! oh i love All Saints! I love those medical and hospital shows!
Sarah, hope Ari will fall asleep for you!
Jo, how did Nic go with the rice cereal?
Hehehe Claire is lying down on the couch behind me blowing raspberries and babbling! She thinks its absolutely hilarious and is laughing her little face off!!
Just got word that the company I work for has been sold, and there is the possibility of redundancy for some employees. I didnt get a lot of details so I dont know if its the managers or the back office people, so I have no idea if my job is safe! AND I found this out when I ws asking about part time work as I have job got a spot in childcare beginning in November! So now I have to wait for an offer from this other mob that bought my work.
I am going to get some nice professional photos done of me, hubby and claire, so I will soon have nice pictures! I am terrible at taking photos!
-
Karina - Nic was hilarious! I gave him the cereal, which he ate with gusto! He made the funniest faces! We took heaps of pics, so will put them up when I get a chance.
He was so good today though after that. He hasn't slept during the day for the last 3 days, but this morning, he went back down after his breakfast (bottle and cereal) but I had to wake him so I could take the girls to school (I hate doing that!). Anyway, he went back down again after I got home and slept for another hour, then woke for a play (not hungry) and went back to sleep for another 1 1/2 hours! Maybe he is catching up? Anyway, he had another sleep in the afternoon, and is in the shower now, then will have his night time bottle and go to bed. He was rolling over everywhere today and wiggling himself into all kinds of positions. Also, he is definitley getting his first tooth! Poor bubba, it is really making him cranky!
-
jomarie - No izzy is in her own room, although lately when she has her night feed i'll just leave her in my bed, im sooo scared that i won't wake up to her if she is in her cot... Her cot is proberly only 4-5metres from my bed the doors are right next to each other, and i have baby monitors as well! i just been a chicken... I'm glad Nic liked his cereal and he slept better!
karina - I get the 'rod for my own back' comment all the time, i just laugh now! hehe...hehe, i'll pass some of my energy along! i can't use it atm got AF... <passes karina energy>
-
Woah.. it's only been 2 days and so much happening!!
Jo, Oskar has been waking on occasions at around 3ish in the morning, so I just feed and put him back to bed... except the other night!! I went to turn the tv off with the remote but the batteries finally bit the dust... so I was doing the thing where you just roll them around but it was making a noise and disturbed Oskar cos he wasn't fully asleep so that was it!! After an hour I kicked Andy out of bed so Oskar could sleep with me and then I couldn't get back to sleep! lol. Last night though he went down around 6:30 and went through till 5:30 but that's only cos I kept bouncing him every now and then from about 4:30!! He hadn't slept much yesterday cos we were out all day... so that's why he slept so long last night.
Sarah, honey, I have no idea what to suggest with Ari other than what I used to have to do with Oskar and that was either sit on the lounge and let him sleep on me (nothing else got done but at least he slept) or I used to put him in his HAB. They were the only ways he would sleep during the day. Ooooh yeah the floor looks all snobby too huh...pmsl. Actually you know that a nappy store would probably do really well there cos of it's "feel"... you know what I mean huh. I seriously couldn't get over the prices of some of the things in those kiddy stores though... I mean OMG seriously how can it be justified when they grow so fast?? Hope I haven't offended anyone here... but wow!
Cass, I don't mind Toombul, it's only little, but Chermside has that snobby feeling for me. I used to shop at Toombul all the time - mainly groceries - cos it was my closest shop. I don't live as close to Chermside as I used to... probably approx. 30 mins?? I used to live at Stafford about 4 years ago!! I liked it there. I know what you mean about AF... it was seriously that light that didn't really need to use anything... I used a panty liner and that was it! It would be so nice if it was always like that!!
Karina, I hate it when something like that happens. I get sooooo cranky with myself and rave to myself about how stupid it was....lol. Woohoo on a new bf bra! My friend just sent me a couple of hers cos she's not bf anymore and they're only a few months old and they're all lacy too :) That sucks about the company you used to work for! Nothing worse than having to sit around and wait to know what you're doing.
Jen, he is a great little bubba!! Oskar doesn't have a set kinda routine so to speak. He seems to change his "routine" every week ... but overall he's settled and a good bub so I don't really mind, I just go with the flow. Sounds like you have a great place to work. See, men need us girls to keep track of everything ...lol... that's why you are in charge of the stock control!
I've been contemplating solids lately cos of Oskar waking sometimes at night now when he was sleeping through. He's also waking earlier. I'm just not sure if it's cos he's hungry or cos it's getting lighter a bit earlier again. I seriously need to get blockout blinds in our room and his (he's still in our room atm though).
