Cass, I'm so glad you're feeling better on the tummy front... bummer about maybe getting the flu you poor thing, it's been rough for you. Pity your mum isn't here yet huh!! I love the bumbo too...lol as does Oskar, well I think he does anyway.

Caro, wtg on the shopping!! Did you get the ice tray things from Big W?? I just bought some about 3 days ago for Oskar and I did butternut pumpkin for him last night and froze it. Was so easy to do and he's got 10 cubes of it ready to go. I'm going to do up carrot next so it's ready to go also. He tried a bit of the pumpkin last night and seemed quite happy with it. I'm not going to try again for another week or so though cos he was interested but not completely. What thing would I love for Oskar??? Oh, boob is a lot better but the nipple on that side is still a lot more tender than the other side. This morning he must've been falling asleep and then he's stretched but CHOMPED down so hard on my boob that I yelled out and Andy came back in to see what was wrong...lol. I said oh he just bit my boob but thanks for checking...hehe.

Karina, how's Claire?? I can't remember what else you said except about Claire being upset

Chels, sorry I'm not sure about the whole expressing thing, but Caro might be able to help you, she went through some issues and certainly knows a lot about that kinda thing.

Jen, can't help you either, but I hope Sam sorts it out for you soon!

I bought the jolly jumper music mat thing today so gonna try that out soon while I'm making dinner. I also had to buy a few jumpsuits for him to sleep in cos he's grown out of most of his but I can't put him in the fleecy ones now cos the nights are warmer and he's getting too hot!! They seem ok if the temps below 13/14 at night but once it's about 14 or higher he seems to get a bit too warm so I need just the normal cotton ones. Luckily Target had them on sale On Wednesday I'm going to see I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry at the movies. Looks like a hoot that one!

Woohoo, this is the busiest we've been in ages. Well Ari has been a little doll today, 3 sleeps again. We had a little battle getting her down tonight as I think her bottom teeth are bothering her, she has little shadows there so we'll see. We went and bought a playpen her her today (something I swore I would never do) but it is just too dangerous for her at the moment. I don't know if I mentioned that we found her under the recliner a few days ago - thank God Bob heard her before he got up, I can't bear to even think about it. So reclining has been banned but it's kind of hard to enforce when DS can flick it up not to mention all the little boys toys - I am just so paranoid she is going to swallow something. So we have a lovely playpen, with a mat included and it is quite a large hexagon and mesh walls (no stuck legs :-) We had a look at the bumbos DH thought they were fab but my little munchkins legs are so fat she didn't really fit (hehe) and $80 is a bit much when she can pretty much sit up by herself. She is starting to wiggle crawl and has carpet burn on her forehead (which is kinda funny).

Caro - oh I forgot about avocardo, I used to mix it with everything for DS, avo and cheese, avo and yoghurt, avo and potato. Have to pick up some next time I'm shopping. And also your not alone with baby cravings!!! It's so hard to watch them gromup so fast

Chels - DS did the same thing before DH and I got married. We tried mixing half EBM half formula which worked partly, we also swapped to karicare (you can usually get samples from the chemist) and in the end, while he didn't finish most of his bottles he was fine and just feed heaps when I did get home. As for expressing a couple of suggestions. If you can use a pillow to support sophie and express one side while you feed her from the other. Secondly after she has finished try expressing from that side. You won't get much but it is extra stimulation and if you keep doing it you will eventually get more. Store the small amounts in ice cube trays. Also if you are using your breast pump frequently you can simply rinse the miolk away and put it in an air tight container in the fridge and sterilise at the end of ech day. You can also try expressing before you go to bed at night.

JenP - I'm not sure about bottlefeeding but I know Ari has times when she is snacky at the breast. She might feed for maybe 3-5min and then not want to feed again for a couple of hours. I just go with the flow and she sorts herself out eventually. Teething could def be the problem like Jomarie said.

Cass - Ouch at the boob thing, I had forgotten about that, esp with teeth coming through - not looking forward to that. Ari has been biting on my shoulder the last couple of days and I keep having flashbacks to being bitten when DS was little. Oh have fun at the movies tomorrow! DH and I want to see that movie too, looks hilarious.

Cass-blob - glad to hear your feeling better. Yeah Ari loves her swimm lessons too. She has learnt how to roll in the water though so when they do the swim by yourself thing she flips over and floats on her back - pretty clever hey.

Oh, I'm with ya now Caro...lol. You'll have to email me a piccy so I can see the Zanzibar one!! I actually bought Oskar a new cover for his cot as well... it's a Bright Bots one.. the circus and it's all really bright and cool! I love it! So now he'll be able to have either - not that he's even sleeping in his own room anyway and not that he sleeps in his cot very often at all! I haven't had to wash the sheets or anything since the initial wash of course. So, hmmmm dunno if it'll get used...pmsl but looks cool

OMG Sarah, how scary Ari being under the recliner! I hate to think as well, poor little princess. She's getting soooo big and I love the pic on your ticker! I can't believe how much more like a little girl she looks since you were here. We have a playpen which Andy's grandfather made many, many years ago. It's red!! Very cool with some beads on it (like on toys). Needs repainting - half done - but I'll probably put it around the birds or something I'd say so that he doesn't go exploring the seed etc or try to pull himself up on the cage cos that could be quite a disaster!! With the bumbos sometimes I find I have to just ease his legs in more and that depends on what he's wearing. It's all very easy to squish around so it doesn't squish their chubby little thighs.

I took the capsule back to the ambulance today and I asked the guy if he'd mind just checking Oskar's seat cos it didn't seem right to me. Boy am I glad I did!! He refitted the whole thing and said that it wasn't safe to be driving around. We had installed it like it said, but it wasn't feeling secure and tight and also the headrest wasn't positioned right etc. So, he went through it all and fixed it and now it's fabo!!! I'm soooo glad I didn't go to Wynnum instead today like I was thinking about. That would've been approx. 45 mins drive each way, in the rain, mostly on highway!! I thought wow, lucky I decided I didn't feel like driving on the highway in the rain.

Oskar tried out his new jolly jumper mat thing. I think he gets what it's about, however it doesn't seem as sensitive sometimes as it does other times, weird! So, I'll give him another go or two and see how it performs. If it's not up to scratch I'll return it. I have the packaging and receipt, so will wait and see. They're pretty noisy though...lol.

Cass, Claire is doing better now. We think she is teething but not 100% sure as to whether thats the reason for her crankiness. Ooooh the music mat thingy sounds like fun! Lucky you got the guy to check your car seat - we got ours installed by the guy at the fitting station but I swear he did it wrong because it just seems wrong to me so I never drive far and walk where possible.

Sarah, hehe how cute about Ari wiggle crawling but omg how scary that she was under the recliner! Play pen sounds nice with the mesh sides. I'd like to get something like that for when we go to my mums house.

Well, today I went to have a look at a child care centre for Claire bear. I took my sister along because she is a room supervisor in a CCC and she knows all the stuff to look out for and ask! I have to say, we werent all that impressed. All the babies had snotty green noses, the carers werent interacting with the kids, the room for the babies was boring and not very inviting, there were no cushions in the room.. so to say the least, I dont know how I feel about it and I'm not sure that I want Claire to go there. My sister also had a look at their weekly programs and told me she would get in sooooo much trouble at her workplace if she had a program that boring! So yeah, i dont know what to do, but will tlk with hubby tonight and see what he thinks. Another thing that annoyed me was that the director of this place didnt bother to tell me that like 80% of the roads nearby are closed off, so we ended up having to drive around in circles for almost an hour as all the streets were either one way or had barriers accross them. I was practically pulling my hair out (well, whats left of it!) with frustration.

Cass - yeah I noticed how soft it was when I took her out but I wondered how much longer it could accomodate her little fat bootie :-) That's great that you got the seat fitted properly. We used to put a large flat bucket of water under DS's feet in the jolly jumper

Karina - Oh I hope claire is feeling better. Child care is hard, but if you don't like it don't send her there, or if it is the only one available and you are desperate then put her in but apply for others in the meantime. I had to put DS in a daycare I didn't really like and I felt horrible everytime I left him there.

Hey! Thought I would drop in and say "hello"! My little girl was born at the end of March, and I was a Belly Buddy, but then, once she was born, never really got a chance to get near the computer! Sounds like she is progressing along at about the same rate as all of your babies - she first rolled at 3 months (to the day!) and has only ever managed to roll to the left, never the right, and has only rolled from tummy to back accidently. She has been sleeping through the night (form about 7:30 to 9am) since about 6 weeks old, as long as she is wrapped up - if we don;t wrap er she wakes up about every hour, hour and half - so we continue to wrap her... She started sitting yesterday, after i positioned her, and managed to stay up for 30 seconds all on her own - I was so proud of her! She hasn't started teething yet, although her cheeks have been a fiery red for a few weeks now. We also haven't started on solids yet - I want to wait until she is closer to 6 months. However, I am breastfeeding her, and at the moment, trying to give her one bottle of formula a day, so that i can go beck to work mid october, and i don't think she likes it - i think it is the teats - have tried avent, pigeon peristaltic ones, cheapo ones and am now trying some pur orthodontic ones - this whole baby business is soooooooooo expensive! But i wouldn't change it for the world!!!!

Cass - my sister gave us her Jolly Jumper and we finally set it up today. It was hillarious! Nic loved it! I think I will also get the mat for him. Good thing you checked your car seat!

Ali - Hi!! Great to hear from you. Sounds like Emerson is going great, what a fantastic sleeper!

Caro - I have those Tupperwear ice cube trays with the lids, they are great. I could do with a few more though as I only have two and I am going to start mixing up Nics veges soon (broccoli and pumpkin etc). Do the containers you found have lids? Where did you get them from?

Karina - you can't be too careful when choosing your day care. Remember, you can't be there to make sure they are looking after Claire, so I would be 100% comfortable with the centre and the carers before leaving her there. You can always ask some of the other parents who have children there and see what they think.

Sarah - I think the play pen is a good idea for Ari. I have a fear of choking too, and the girls have so many little beads and things. At least they are old enough to make sure their stuff is put away, and we have put a gate on the loungeroom so that Nic can't get out (when he finally gets moving).

Jen - do his cheeks get dry as well? Nics went really red, now they are a bit dry, like he has a rash.

Well, I just wanted to say that I have lost 3ks in the last 3 weeks!! So very proud of myself! I have been doing weight watchers and making DH do it as well. I am only 2kg away from my pre pregnancy weight now YIPPEE!! Nic has another cold at the moment, poor little tacker. I hate it when they are sick. He seems better today though and slept really well today. He had carrot for the first time today, and after initially screwing his face up, after a coupld of mouthfulls, he was loving it. I think I will try avocado this week as well.

JoMarie, yeah Sam's cheeks definetly look like he has a rash, I have just been putting some moisturiser on them, it seems to help. When I bath him I use the Johnsons Bedtime bath with the lavender and chamomile in it, then afterwards I put moisturiser all over him and I use the Johnsons Calming one that has the lavender and that in it as well. He seems to love the smell of it cause after his baths he always has a nap (I usually bath him at 7pm after he has had his vegies).

Oh and I forgot to ad, Sam has his appetite back! Yay! On Tuesday he hardly ate anything during the day and barley touched his vegies. When I gave him his last bottle for the night at around 8.30pm he drank the whole thing. Then at around 3am he was calling out and sucking on his dummy like he was starving so I heated up a bottle and he drank the whole thing! Then he slept thru to around 9am so I got a great sleep in! Since then he has drank all his bottles (240ml) and has been eating almost all his solids and he seems so much happier! Although last night after vegies he was rolling around on the floor and was on his belly for a while and then he did a huge power spew, but afterwards he was laughing so he must have been putting too much pressure on his tummy by lying on it lol poor little bugger, so into the bath and then he had an hour nap and after his last bottle he went off and I didnt hear boo from him until he woke at 7.20am thismorning.
When I went and saw the nurse yesterday, she said all the symptoms he had, that it was definetly teething, so that made me feel a bit better. Sam now weighs 9kg and is 74cm long! He is going to outgrow size 0 in a heartbeat!!!

OMG... now I can't remember what was said on the last page!!!

Ali, welcome back honey!! Great to hear from you again! Sounds like Emerson is doing great! She was born on a good day you know My birthday...hehe.

Jen, I use paw paw ointment and it works great... on the chin and cheeks when he gets a bit of a rash from wiping slobber all over his face and also on his little butt! It's available from the chemist and pretty cheap I use it for everything so I don't have to buy separate creams for face/butt etc.

Cass, the mat is a jolly jumper music mat thing. I got it from Big W - they're around $26. Awww Izzy looks so cute with her toothy grin!! I love it!

Oskar sat up last night for a REALLY long time. He was on my lap facing me and he just sat there unaided for like a minute or 2!! I was going omg how clever! lol. He half rolls but can't be bothered going the rest of the way yet...lol. Either that or he has his hands stuck in his mouth so he can't anyway! I checked his gums and he has a little white spot on the bottom, but looks like where his eye tooth would be so I'm not sure if it's just moving up and down or if he's going to be abnormal and get that one first! He's been full on biting his finger and mine if he can get to it.

Hi girls...we're back! Got back from the not so sunny gold coast last night. We still had a good time but it definitely wasn't the warm sunny holiday that i was expecting! What bad timing with the weather! Not to worry. Still...will have to wait a bit longer before grace gets to feel the sand between her toes. Got a fancy sun shade for the pram before leaving but didn't even look at it for the entire trip, the rain cover got a good working out though!

Seems like there are a couple of new ladies on here...hello to you all.

Cass, say hi to sonia next time you speak to her. Glad Kaidan is doing well.

Grace has been on farex for a week and a half and we gave her potato tonight for the first time tonight.

Got to go, grace is calling. tkae care.

    Hi to Sonia through Cass...lol.

Rachel, welcome back!! Sorry about the weather hun, but not giving the rain up for anyone :P Mind you on Thursday my backyard resembled half a swimming pool... half of it was kinda flooded with HUGE puddles.

I think Oskar has had a bit of a tummy bug cos (TMI) his # 2's yesterday and today have been really quite liquidy and they'd been more peanut butter for a little while. It went EVERYWHERE last night (lucky it was just before his bath). Today Andy had a bit of a funny tummy, so I'm not sure if it was that or if he's getting set up for teeth?? Other than that he seems to be eating and has no temp, so I'll just keep an eye on him.

Caro, hope Michael and Courtney are feeling better. to you.

Grrrrr internet has been down for a few days so much to catch up on. Can't remember anything from the previous page. We've been having a few rought days with Ari and I am taking her to the dr next week as she is obviously having pain somewhere for some reason. I thought she was constipated and although it had been a couple of days when she did go it wasn't dry or hard so???? but the last couple of nights she will just cry and cry and won't sleep at all during the day. The oly thing that has settled her has been panadol (whch I hate giving to her but nothing else will stop her crying not even BF - in fact I think it makes it worse. I would say it was colic/reflux but I think she is too old???? She is arhing her back, then brining up her legs and when you hold her she fights you, put her down and she screams more, doesn't want any pressure on her tummy like won't go over your shoulder etc. I just don't know what to do.

Welcome Ali and good luck with the formula, we had to try a few diff brands with DS, ended up with karicare. Ari on the other hand had some of the Amcal brand when I went to uni and loved it but that girl will eat anything we are discovering - I do mean anything.

Cass_blob - gorgeous photo! How is BF going with the teeth? Hope ypu are feeling better soon

    caro hope your week improves

Cass- oh hope Oskar isn't getting sick, def could be teeth.

Rachel - oh I was hoping you were going to the coast next week what a bummer about the weather. Next time you should come up to townsville! It was over 30 today OMG

Jen pleased to hear Sam has his app back and woohoo on his growth.
