oh SJ- I hope Molly's all right. sorry about that, it sux.. i've seen a little baby who had a brace on both sides. I do hope it's not serious, hopefully it's nothing, or something that can correct itself. big monster cuddles for little Molly.
Welcome kate! How sweet that she was born close to her big brother. Am so glad DD is doing well. xoxox
-
SJ - hope Molly Jane is ok, let us know how the ultrasound goes :)
Prama - see you tomorrow morning at Stanhope Gardens ;)
Managed to have a sleep with DJ a little under an hour then he woke up hungry but trying to space it out since he was only fed an hour ago and he got enough because i was spraying him on the face without even touching my breast haha it was hilarious!!! Poor little DJ though, I got him up to burp and it was all over the side of his face and head.....

I've asked a friend to babysit Jazz for 2-3 hours one day next week so I can detail clean my house for the first time since she was born (actually, for the first time since just before my babyshower which was 2nd week of Feb!)
I'm so looking forward to getting everything ship shape and feel ready to tackle the huge job now that I'm feeling 98% recovered from giving birth!
I've also booked a photoshoot for Sat 26th. Hopefully will get a nice family photo and some good ones of Jazz. I have a few poses in mind.
-
shell - see you tomorrow! a bit nervous about driving so far w Poopy.
will be good to have a decent chat tomorrow, and the boys can chat too!

Had our 6 week check up today. I still have a little bit of healing to go but am otherwise going well. Madison is going well too, weight 4400g(50th%), length 54.5 cm(50th%) and head circ 36cm(40th%).
However her milia has been pretty severe and has gone really dry and a bit crusty/scaly the last few days so the Dr prescribed some cortisone cream. She said it looks like a bit of excema as well. I'm not terribly surprised because both DH and myself require creams every so often for problematic skin and mine is really dry. We put some on this afternoon and her skin already looks soooo much better, less red and angry.
Poor thing has had her worst bout of colic today as well. We've given her three doses of infants friend and it seems to work ok. She has done two poos which is alot for her, as she usually only goes every couple of days. Luckily for us though she doesn't just scream for hours, she'll have a couple of minutes of crying and then kind of whimpers and then will settle in between pains. I did some tummy manipulation and pumped her legs and she seemed to enjoy that so I'll keep that up when she gets pains.
Danni - where are you getting the photos done, I had some nice ones taken of Piper a couple of years ago at Calico in Blackwood and Impressions in town (they do the face of the year comp with proceeds going to McDermott/Mcguiness foundation). I got upset though because the photos were so beautiful and I couldn't afford as many as I wanted so I take alot myself now and photo shop them. Check out the ones of Piper I uploaded the other day.
Well thats enough of me rambling on again. :D

Trina -thanks for referring me to Donnalix (Infants Friend) DJ has had a good solid 4 hours sleep yeeehahhhh seems to be helping him with his colic/wind. I am sooooo relieved...... I am sitting up with a cuppa waiting for him to fully wake up for his next feed, don't want to wake him though, not until he is fully awake and ready. He has needed this long sleep
Jess - DJ has the same problem with colic/wind. We also bought Donnalix Infant friend also and it seems to be working, hubby gave it to him at his 12:30am feed and he is still sound asleep I woke up with a cup of tea ready to feed him, because I am sure he will wake up any minute. I don't want to wake him up for his feed unless he goes over the 5 hours. At least got a good sleep still very tired but thank god for at least a good solid 4 hours :)
Prama - it will be great to see you :) Doni is driving me down there since I still can't drive or lift heavy things (pram). My six weeks are up next week Thursday!! but I don't see Dr Wardena until 6 May. I feel great though, stitches don't hurt so I think from next week I should be right to do the things I am not supposed to do until 6 weeks.
Tummy manipulation exercises - tired these and he didn't do any farts from doing them, but he is farting more so that is fabbo ;)
DJ is starting to wake up YAY

Jazz has her final check up with the midwife today, I've got a pelvic floor physio appointment tomorrow.
Guess who slept from 10:15pm until 5:45am!!! WooHoo!
-
wow im so jealous of these babies who sleep longer then 3hrs!! i just try and remember that most are a few weeks older then my little miss!
Shell- yes the infants friend is fantastic i love it!!!
we have a midwife check up today, hopefully MJ has gained well this week!
well she is asleep andi think i may head back to bed
-
Prama and I will be on A Current Affair tomorrow night for that story on the mums and bubs exercise class. I made sure I sucked in my belly this time haha
How is everyone going? I am pretty good, still feel pretty good after the good sleep last night. Might even bake a cake this afternoon. See how we go mind you......
Prama - little Lakshman is sooooo cute!!!! he has the cutest little face and eyes :) how did you go getting home, did you do that yoga class or give it a miss?
-
I took Jazz for a long walk in her pram so we could try and find one of our cats who has been missing since 5am yesterday morning. (No luck on the cat). The walk really settled Jazz, didn't send her to sleep, but made her quiet.
-
Shell, is it donnalix or infants friend? sorry i have BAD baby brain at the moment so very vague and forgetful... Glad DJ is getting some relief so hard seeing them in pain. I will check out ACA to see you and Prama.
Danni, Summer loves getting out and about most of the time too. Not good on missing pudda cat.
Sumz had her 6 week check today, little chubba has put on 250g in a week. She is now 5kg bare, 59cm HC 38.8.
Off to get some cleaning finished....
-
Jazz has gained 140g in past week. Midwife discharged us from her care and is very happy with Jazz's progress.
She is sleeping in the fetal position on my chest at the moment so I'm typing one handed.
-
shell - it was great to see you again and little DJ.. sigh.. he's so cute. love his hair! cant wait to see him grow! it was good fun today. looking fwd to monday.
i went to the yoga class in concord, i liked it.. will try to go again. im so tired, running around. just about to have some lunch.
hi girls, yeah hopefully we'll be on ACA.
those in NSW, have you got bub's birth cert yet? We called and tehy said it will take 8 weeks!
-
Well we had our 6 week check up today and all is well. Paddy piglet is what he's going to be called from now on! He went from 5200g to 5950g in two weeks, 58.5cm long, 39.5cm hc.
Got my GTT for diabetes tomorrow and will go back to dr next thurs for results and a pap smear (they finally got hold of me ;))
I'm going to try the post natal excercise class at my local hospital. I've lost so much weight (I had to be good thru my pregnancy coz I was on insulin) that everything is flabby and my stomach muscles are non existent. Another 15 to go and I'll be done!
Prama I got the birth certificate about 1 week after I sent it (in WA). Centrlink even rang to hassle me about finishing the paperwork off for the baby bonus. Never been paid so quickly in my life!
-
I just rang BD&M in SA to find out if I'm meant to get confirmation of some sort (I didn't apply for a birth cert). They said they used to send a letter with confirmation years ago but they don't anymore. A quick check of the system showed they have registered Jazz though, that's all I wanted to know.
-
Prama - yeah and I just found out Doni will be in Townsville on Monday so I can't drive down there :( Well I could drive down to the park but it is the lifting out of the pram in and out of my car doh!!! Too far to walk down as well....... I might have to start up the following week, shall see how I go...... At least we can motivate each other, I just have to stop talking so much haha
As for birth certificate have not received anything from BD&M either, and sent our form in the week I got home from hospital so not sure how long it takes, but someone told me it can take up to 7 weeks and I even ticked the urgent box.....
Trina - Donnalix haha I thought it said Infant Friend on the box but it says Infant Drops haha such a nutter I am. But the drops are working.
Teachmum - wow little Paddy is doing well on the weight gain, congrats. good luck for GTT test tomorrow. I am waiting to see my ob to see if I need to get another test done. The diabetes doctor said I should have another GTT to see that it has totally cleared though, but said I could wait a while on that....
My mum and brother move out on Saturday, as much as I have loved having my mother here to help out I can't wait to have the house back to normal. I am just going to miss her helping me out especially when I am doing the 5:30am feed half asleep and she nurses DJ back to sleep for me. Doni is away Mon-Wed so I think my mum will probably come and stay with me, not sure, since she will only just move into her new place.
We decided to order in tonight since it is just us tonight, mum is at my aunties place and my brother is working. Expecting delivery of thai food shortly yummmm so hungry just did some expressing.
Have a great night girls.
Shell xxxx
-
Shell - dont worry, if you drive there, I'll help get the pram out. ours is heavy about 10kgs. so I'm sure I'll be ok. hehe, if it's heavy, we can ask someone to give us a hand.
yeah, i have to stop talking too. haha. but it makes exercising easier. lol.
Sorry that your mum and bro and moving out, the help is great but it's also nice for you and Doni to have DJ all to yourselves. I was sad when my mum left, it was great with all the help. But now, the 3 of us feel like a little family and we have our routine going.
teach - hahaha, Paddy piglet. that's so cute and well done!
danni - great that you;ve been checked out!
NSW BDM must be pretty slow, else NSW-ers very active! LOL, they said there's been a baby boom so it's taking much longer to process.
-
I dont have my birth cert for little miss yet either. Its been about 3 weeks cause i sent if off while in hospt. apparently more babies have been born everywhere!!!
Well we got her weighed today and i am proud to say she has gained 240g in 6 days!!!! yay for the liquid gold!
Dani- hope all goes well with the paed
teach- thats a great gain!!!
Shell- enjoy having Dj all to yourslef!
-
Hehehe shell, i went and checked the bottle this morning when i read about infants friend my brain is mush this week..
Prama i sent Summer's birth details off in the first week and still haven't got anything. My mum is right into doing our family history and is always in contact with BDM and she has been waiting for some sort of certificate and they said she is going to have to wait months as there has been so many births in Jan Feb March and they take priority.
Teach, what a little chubba! are you feeding him burgers? hehehe. Wouldn't it be nice if all our weight left us as they put on... wishful thinking!!!
Cooked a nice baked dinner tonight, was pretty good, house is clean and washing is up to date, i feel like i have got on top of things again YAY!!! We are off to Sydney tomorrow so Summer can meet her Great Grandmother and a few other people.
Hope everyone gets some sleep tonight xoxoxox
-
Prama - yeah that is a good idea, I might just get Doni to put my pram in the car before he leaves to go interstate and ask mum to pop over after work to help me get it out or just ask the neighbour to help me. I really want to go along on Monday especially for her first class and I really want to get back into exercising and this is a good excuse to motivate me ;) we can motivate each other. Yeah I am going to really miss her but she only lives 10mins from home so she isn't too far if I need her.
Trina - haha don't worry my brain is always mush. Sounds like you have had a good day. Oh coolies on your trip to Sydney tomorrow especially so Summer can meet her great grandmother - sounds like a lovely day sweetie.
Beatrix - great weight gain sweetie, I didn't get around to getting DJ weighed this week so will do it next week.
Been a bit snappy tonight, not sure why, I haven't rested today, well at least I haven't slept anyway......... Might have to go to bed early to get a good sleep. DJ just been fed, so might head off shortly, not sure on how long he will sleep tonight, hoping for another 4-5 hour sleep kehehee

beatrix - woo hoo on hte weight gain!
i was soo tired! been running around the last 2 days. woke up at 4am today for feed and had about half hour sleep till 6, when i had get up to get ready to go to stanhope gardens. then got home, gave him a feed and rushed out for yoga. got back gave him a feed and had lunch at 3. went to have a nap at 4, felt like i just put my head down when DH came home at 4.30. he let me sleep till 6.30, and took poopy out of the bedroom. im still so so tired.... tomorrow's another day of running around.
i have a plan to get 8 hrs sleep.. when poopy goes to daycare next year, im going to chuck a sickie at work and sleep! that's my goal! lol!

Well we've passed one clothes milestone. I packed up all of Maddie's size 0000 clothes. :(
With Piper I was happy with each milestone reached, but with my baby I want to stretch them out. Maybe I should think to myself, "maybe we'll have another" lol.
-
Congratulations and condolances Jess on Maddie moving up a clothes size.
Jazz is still 0000 and 00000 in some things, but her weight now is about the weight of an average new born.
Off to the physio in a minute for a pelvic floor check up. My darling sister called me this morning to see if she could come over, it's been a god-send...I've had someone to palm Jazz off onto to free me up a bit! She's coming to the appointment with me and will stay in the waiting room with Jazz. So happy!!!
-
Hi guys..
Was just told that the mums and bubs story isnt ready for tonight's ACA.. will have to be next week sometime.. oh well. sorry for the anti-climax!:(
-
Trina it's not the burgers that makes him stack on weight, it's the vanilla milkhake he keeps ordering.
Fantastic you've got someone to come with you for your appointment Danni. I went for my GTT today and there was an older lady getting hers done at the same time so she watch Paddy for me while they took my blood. So Shell don't worry about asking for help, plenty of people will jump at the chance just so they can get a closer look at the baby.
I'm really tired tonight. I think it's just all these weeks of broken sleep catching up and I haven't had my cat naps for the past few days. I didn't realise they helped so much.
We all must be doing a great job with the way these bubs are growing. I love it when they move up a size ... more chance to shop ...
-
yeah what an anti-climax Prama I was expecting it as well kehehe oh well typical media say one thing and mean another haha I should be used to it ;)
Can I ask you all a question? Do you find you are the same person you were before you became a mum? or do you feel that you have changed? or does your husband feel that you have changed?
The reason I ask this is that my husband said to me this morning that I am not affectionate towards him and not the same woman he married. Now, for starters we have had my mother and brother staying with us for the past 4 weeks, and we aren't allowed to have sex until I am passed 6 weeks mark (doctors orders haha) and I get sooooo tired that I am just wanting to sleep all of the time or spend my waking hours feeding, burping etc So, yes i have neglected my husband but he is ALWAYS on his computer working, so cuddling up to him isn't something I can exactly do with the laptop in the way. Things will be better when my mum and brother move out tomorrow. I don't think I have changed, I mean I am more maternal and love being a mum, and DJ is top of my priority list, because I ahve to make sure he is fed, bum changed etc so thinking about others comes after DJ, he is now my top priority. Does that seem right, or is this the wrong attitude for me to have? I just want to know if I am doing something wrong.
Also, dealing with getting my body back etc doesn't help. Sure I stick in my belly especially yesterday for that current affair story, held it in so tight, but if I let go, well put it this way Doni refers me to being 1 month pregnant. I don't know about you all, but I don't like people saying that I am pregnant when I have just had a baby :(
Sorry for the vent, just wanted to find out what you all thought about this.....
Shell xxx
-
Shell you do change when you become a mum whether you like it or not. Life becomes about those little people we create. You need to tell Doni you don't like the way he refers to your body and if he wants a bit he'd better stop ;). He's a man so you're going to have to be blunt and say get off the computer I want a cuddle!
Keep talking about it and you'll work it out. Don't worry soon you'll be puting a lock on the door so you can dtd without interuptions. ahh the cycle of life...
-
Hi shell
For me I think it's yes and no. I am still the same person but at the same time I'm not the same, a lot more carefree person. I feel I have a bigger weight on my shoulders and part of my old life is gone and this is a new one. I do feel sad that the easy days of our marriage is gone. But I do love being Lakshman's mum.
I asked steve if he thinks I've changed, and he said we've both changed. We are the same people but our roles have changed. Our feelings for each other hasnt. Before we were 2 individuals in a marriage, both independant and dependant on each other. we could do our own things. but now our roles have changed where he's the provider and im the carer.
I do feel Im more of my oldself now, than I did at 5weeks. It's a very steep learning curve and your focus is all on your baby and very little on anything else, esp yourself. And you have to focus everything on bub cos you're learning everything on the job. And you're the no.1 person in DJ's life.
I found we got closer after my mum left. DH helped with feeding and changing him and all that when mum was around, but there wasnt the more intimate feeling as a family unit.
Now it really feels like it's the 3 of us and we're a real family. And it's easier, for me, at least, to be affectionate and cuddly waddly without a 3rd person around.
And it is a 2 way street. is DH being cuddly and affectionate to you too?
I know sometimes in the mornings when we wake up for a feed, DH wants a big hug, but im like a zombie and half asleep and i just want to feed Lakshman, I dont feel like a big hug. Then I feel bad.
I think things will get better when your mum and brother move out, and you two spend more time together as a family. talk to him too about how you feel.
It's hard with the body image thing.. It's tough enough caring for a new baby and not having much time for yourself like before, and then everything changes and you have to deal with your body too. Thats how I feel.
I do hope things get better. im sure it will. i feel better now than i did a few weeks ago.
take care hun xoxoo
-
Thanks for the input girls.
I do think things will be different now that my mum and brother have moved out. We will find a routine and things will be back to normal. Hubby is really affectionate towards me, I always give him cuddles in bed..... I think it has been hard on him and me with my mum always home, so now that she has moved out eveything will fall into place like you said Prama :)
Hope you are all having a great day. We are going to head out around 3pm to see my mums new place haven't yet seen it.

shell - glad you're feeling better!
you have a wonderful husband and bub!!
-
:cheer: we finally DTD :loveshower:
right sorry, had to get that out!
DH said afterwards, God, imagine if we get pg again!!! as much as i cant wait to have another baby, i really can wait and would like a bit of a gap, not 2 in 1 year! oh imagine that!
Shell, our relationship has changed and it is normal for the male to feel left out as the attention that you use to give him, is now shared with DJ... he will get use to it and when you have no one else at your place it will get easier.
As for the body image think, DH is not happy with the way i look, he is not shallow, but is use to be not being so flabby... that was part of the reason that we had not dtd in so long (it really as been months) that and not wanting to hurt Molly!!!
gotta go booby call, have more to post, so will bbl!!!
-
haha SJ that is too funny haha DH and I have been counting down the days until we can DTD, i have stopped bleeding finally so all clear down there....
How is everyone going? We went out to lunch with friends down at Woolloomoolloo Wharf today which was sooooo nice and relaxing. DJ slept through most of it and I had a bottle ready to go, I soooo can't breastfeed him in public, he is way too vocal haha
DH is away for the next 3 days but back on Wednesday night..... Mum said she would pop over on Tuesday night to give me a break if I needed a sleep so that will be good.
Prama - probably see you tomorrow, need to remind Doni to put the pram in the car tomorrow before he leaves for airport and fix up the carseat. Hoping his flight is late morning :)
Hope you are all well.

SJ - LOL you;re too funny! congrats!!

A quick hello girls been mad busy here with the inlaws here fomr the UK. Hmmm lots to vent about but wont do it now..lets just say if you came half way around the wolrd woudl you not want to spend more than 4 days with your grandson and not go to dreamworld instead or when he is awake and smiling woudl you not want to pick him up and cuddle him instead o fplaying games on your pda. grrrrrrrrrrr
We had Will baptised yesterday which was realy a special day He was so good he made it through most of the service until we hit feed time and then he had wind so had to go out the font of the church for a grizzle and brp and fart ( mainloy becasue he smells o much*L*) he was handed fomr pillar to post for photos and cuddles and then slep tof 4 hours. I put him in a beautiful dress that was to his feet in lenght and he just looked gorgeous. Will post pics soon. He was once again spoilt rotten with gifts people are so very generous.
My girlfriend whose is in on of the pictures in my gallery finnaly had her baby on Friday. Poor baby she was 42 weeks and hugely pregnant with what they said was going ot be at least a 10 pound baby. THey induced her and she went from Wed the Friday afternoon with full labour of 9 hours but in the end ended up with vontouse, forceps a tear then a further empesiotmy.SHe has had huge blood loss and poor bub has bruises all over his head and a huge headache. He was 8, 13 born and same size head as Will but he got stuck in what turned out to be a small pelvis. They had told her long that they owudl let her labour but that there was a 98%^ chance she woudl have a ceasr. WIsh they had given it to her as it was very very hard on her and very traumatic. Going to see her today for big hug and a good chat. WIll has a new playmate finally and his name is Flann Oscar( a very irish name apparently)
HOpe you are all well sorry no personals a still half asleep *L* will catch up soon.
Bron xx
-
Morning all,
Bron congrats on Will's baptism can't wait for pics. In laws can be painful, but coming all that way  Have a nice big vent when they go!!!
Yay SJ hehehe they don't understand how much our bodies go through when we are pregnant/give birth I remember after DD1 DH made a few comments about me/my body that have stuck with me. He is much nicer about it now and understands it takes a while to get my body back. Lets just hope that now i have written this down it stays that way hehehe.
Prama well done on the good sleep don't you wish it happens every night?? Looks like no walking for you today .... Well not here it is raining so hard...
Shell, of course we change after having kids i think the men sometimes really struggle with not being the baby anymore hehe.
It is raining so hard here, there is a swimming pool out the back, Codie has a friend over and Paige is meant to be having a friend over too.... I must be mad! The smallest house and 6 kids stuck inside bored and fighting. Gotta love school hols, thank goodness i don't have to get them to school on a day like this.....
Well i am bored too....
-
India, I almost named my Will that exact name! You poor thing with the relatives. Just keep saying to yourself 'it's only temporary' like a mantra :) We will be going back to the UK in October which I am dreading.
Your poor friend - how traumatic
Prama you lucky, lucky thing! a full night's sleep. oh what i would do for that
I'm having issues with the 3am feed. He wakes up hysterical and then fusses trying to latch on, and neither of us get back to bed for 1 hour. I tried bottle feeding last night (with EBM) but he was still totally awake. The only benefit to the bottle was that he seemed to sleep longer this morning.
I've tried not unwrapping him but he goes absolutely beserk if he's awake and wrapped (I'm counting down to when I don't have to wrap him!)
Has anyone got any ideas? I don't turn any lights on, don't speak to him or anything like that (not that i would be coherant at 3am anyway).
-
Bron - so good to hear from you! so sorry abt the relos! bugger. yup, once they leave you can have a big whinge. it's hard having ppl when you have a new baby.. if they help, it would make a big difference.
trina - how long did it take for your body to get back to shape?
we did have our class but indoors in a community hall.
What Poopy giveth, he taketh away! He had a very good sleep the other day but today he was grumpy and got hungry an hr extra early so i had to nurse/feed him most of the class. but im still not complaining the long sleep the other day. last night he went to bed at 11 and woke up at 4.30. he was asleep at 8.45 when i woke him for a feed before we went out. i think he was grumpy from that.
i found if i give him the boob plus formula he seems to sleep longer.
kitty - sorry, i dont have any suggestions. Poopy sometimes unwraps his hands in his sleep, a few times i;ve woken up in the middle of the night to check on him and he has his face covered with his wrap cos his hand is still stuck in the wrap and he was trying to suck his hand. i have a heart-attack each time.
maybe feed his as soon as his starts to grizzle before he goes hysterical if you do hear him?
i asked DH the other day if he got tired of looking after him sometimes. i feel bad cos i do sometimes cos it's so constant. and DH said the sweetest thing, he said he does, but it's so much harder for me cos i do it day after day.. i was so touched cos he's understanding. the weekends are good cos he looks after him while i sleep in cos he gives him the bottle..
Who's looking forward to Mother's Day no.1!! Yaayyyy!!!!!!!
-
Jazz has been sleeping 6-7.5 hours a night for the past 5 nights in a row! She's in a good routine now. She'll usually fall asleep sometime between 9pm-11pm and sleep through, then she'll wake for a feed, then sleep for another 2-4 hours, then she'll wake and stay awake or maybe power nap for 10-15mins until between 1:30pm and 2:30pm when she'll fall asleep and sleep for 2-3 hours. She'll then wake at dinner time, I give her a bottle usually so I can cook dinner and Matt can feed her, also she tends to want to keep feeding for 2 hours straight otherwise. Then she'll stay awake for the whole evening until 9-11pm and the cycle starts again.
I found a cure for cradle cap. My sister told me to put heaps of sorbaline cream on her head and leave it overnight, then in the morning brush her hair in soft circles. I did that and instantly the cc was gone and hasn't returned.
I uploaded another photo, well overdue. It was taken on Saturday.
-
Prama body bounced back super quick first time around cos i was only 22 i did put on about 30kg's too. I have been pretty good for the last week plus going to the gym and i don't think i have lost any weight i even feel fatter today :( i did do a pump class yesterday and my legs are soooo sore i am struggling to get on and off a seat so may feel heavy from that (i hope that's all it is) its just not fair! I can't survive BF on a strict diet :wall:
Your DH is a sweety...
Summer is a pretty good sleeper, she likes going to bed between 6.30 and 8 at the moment and sleeps for anywhere from 6 to 8 hours but cos she is going a little early i don't get the long sleep too. When she wakes for a feed we can be back in bed within 20 mins which is not too bad.
I hear crying.........
-
Poopy gave me a shock this morning when i unwrapped him for his 5am feed. His pajamas pants were missing!! I was so sure he had pants on when I put his to sleep, how could I not when it's cold!
I then noticed the elastic of his pants stuck to him right foot. he had somehow managed to kick his pants off!! I dont know how he managed that! he's so funny!
mum said i used to kick my blankie off when i was baby and DH says i still kick my sheets off now.. hehe he takes after his mother!
