A quick hello girls been mad busy here with the inlaws here fomr the UK. Hmmm lots to vent about but wont do it now..lets just say if you came half way around the wolrd woudl you not want to spend more than 4 days with your grandson and not go to dreamworld instead or when he is awake and smiling woudl you not want to pick him up and cuddle him instead o fplaying games on your pda. grrrrrrrrrrr
We had Will baptised yesterday which was realy a special day He was so good he made it through most of the service until we hit feed time and then he had wind so had to go out the font of the church for a grizzle and brp and fart ( mainloy becasue he smells o much*L*) he was handed fomr pillar to post for photos and cuddles and then slep tof 4 hours. I put him in a beautiful dress that was to his feet in lenght and he just looked gorgeous. Will post pics soon. He was once again spoilt rotten with gifts people are so very generous.
My girlfriend whose is in on of the pictures in my gallery finnaly had her baby on Friday. Poor baby she was 42 weeks and hugely pregnant with what they said was going ot be at least a 10 pound baby. THey induced her and she went from Wed the Friday afternoon with full labour of 9 hours but in the end ended up with vontouse, forceps a tear then a further empesiotmy.SHe has had huge blood loss and poor bub has bruises all over his head and a huge headache. He was 8, 13 born and same size head as Will but he got stuck in what turned out to be a small pelvis. They had told her long that they owudl let her labour but that there was a 98%^ chance she woudl have a ceasr. WIsh they had given it to her as it was very very hard on her and very traumatic. Going to see her today for big hug and a good chat. WIll has a new playmate finally and his name is Flann Oscar( a very irish name apparently)
HOpe you are all well sorry no personals a still half asleep *L* will catch up soon.
Bron xx
Morning all,
Bron congrats on Will's baptism can't wait for pics. In laws can be painful, but coming all that way  Have a nice big vent when they go!!!
Yay SJ hehehe they don't understand how much our bodies go through when we are pregnant/give birth I remember after DD1 DH made a few comments about me/my body that have stuck with me. He is much nicer about it now and understands it takes a while to get my body back. Lets just hope that now i have written this down it stays that way hehehe.
Prama well done on the good sleep don't you wish it happens every night?? Looks like no walking for you today .... Well not here it is raining so hard...
Shell, of course we change after having kids i think the men sometimes really struggle with not being the baby anymore hehe.
It is raining so hard here, there is a swimming pool out the back, Codie has a friend over and Paige is meant to be having a friend over too.... I must be mad! The smallest house and 6 kids stuck inside bored and fighting. Gotta love school hols, thank goodness i don't have to get them to school on a day like this.....
Well i am bored too....
India, I almost named my Will that exact name! You poor thing with the relatives. Just keep saying to yourself 'it's only temporary' like a mantra :) We will be going back to the UK in October which I am dreading.
Your poor friend - how traumatic
Prama you lucky, lucky thing! a full night's sleep. oh what i would do for that
I'm having issues with the 3am feed. He wakes up hysterical and then fusses trying to latch on, and neither of us get back to bed for 1 hour. I tried bottle feeding last night (with EBM) but he was still totally awake. The only benefit to the bottle was that he seemed to sleep longer this morning.
I've tried not unwrapping him but he goes absolutely beserk if he's awake and wrapped (I'm counting down to when I don't have to wrap him!)
Has anyone got any ideas? I don't turn any lights on, don't speak to him or anything like that (not that i would be coherant at 3am anyway).
Bron - so good to hear from you! so sorry abt the relos! bugger. yup, once they leave you can have a big whinge. it's hard having ppl when you have a new baby.. if they help, it would make a big difference.
trina - how long did it take for your body to get back to shape?
we did have our class but indoors in a community hall.
What Poopy giveth, he taketh away! He had a very good sleep the other day but today he was grumpy and got hungry an hr extra early so i had to nurse/feed him most of the class. but im still not complaining the long sleep the other day. last night he went to bed at 11 and woke up at 4.30. he was asleep at 8.45 when i woke him for a feed before we went out. i think he was grumpy from that.
i found if i give him the boob plus formula he seems to sleep longer.
kitty - sorry, i dont have any suggestions. Poopy sometimes unwraps his hands in his sleep, a few times i;ve woken up in the middle of the night to check on him and he has his face covered with his wrap cos his hand is still stuck in the wrap and he was trying to suck his hand. i have a heart-attack each time.
maybe feed his as soon as his starts to grizzle before he goes hysterical if you do hear him?
i asked DH the other day if he got tired of looking after him sometimes. i feel bad cos i do sometimes cos it's so constant. and DH said the sweetest thing, he said he does, but it's so much harder for me cos i do it day after day.. i was so touched cos he's understanding. the weekends are good cos he looks after him while i sleep in cos he gives him the bottle..
Who's looking forward to Mother's Day no.1!! Yaayyyy!!!!!!!
Jazz has been sleeping 6-7.5 hours a night for the past 5 nights in a row! She's in a good routine now. She'll usually fall asleep sometime between 9pm-11pm and sleep through, then she'll wake for a feed, then sleep for another 2-4 hours, then she'll wake and stay awake or maybe power nap for 10-15mins until between 1:30pm and 2:30pm when she'll fall asleep and sleep for 2-3 hours. She'll then wake at dinner time, I give her a bottle usually so I can cook dinner and Matt can feed her, also she tends to want to keep feeding for 2 hours straight otherwise. Then she'll stay awake for the whole evening until 9-11pm and the cycle starts again.
I found a cure for cradle cap. My sister told me to put heaps of sorbaline cream on her head and leave it overnight, then in the morning brush her hair in soft circles. I did that and instantly the cc was gone and hasn't returned.
I uploaded another photo, well overdue. It was taken on Saturday.
Prama body bounced back super quick first time around cos i was only 22 i did put on about 30kg's too. I have been pretty good for the last week plus going to the gym and i don't think i have lost any weight i even feel fatter today :( i did do a pump class yesterday and my legs are soooo sore i am struggling to get on and off a seat so may feel heavy from that (i hope that's all it is) its just not fair! I can't survive BF on a strict diet :wall:
Your DH is a sweety...
Summer is a pretty good sleeper, she likes going to bed between 6.30 and 8 at the moment and sleeps for anywhere from 6 to 8 hours but cos she is going a little early i don't get the long sleep too. When she wakes for a feed we can be back in bed within 20 mins which is not too bad.
I hear crying.........
Poopy gave me a shock this morning when i unwrapped him for his 5am feed. His pajamas pants were missing!! I was so sure he had pants on when I put his to sleep, how could I not when it's cold!
I then noticed the elastic of his pants stuck to him right foot. he had somehow managed to kick his pants off!! I dont know how he managed that! he's so funny!
mum said i used to kick my blankie off when i was baby and DH says i still kick my sheets off now.. hehe he takes after his mother!
Hey girls,
Thought I would use this opportunity to post while DJ is asleep. I am feeling pretty good today, got some stuff done around the house, so I am feeling more organised. Doni left this afternoon to go to Townsville and not back until Wednesday, so that will be hard for me, no support but I think I will manage :) Mum is going to pop around for a few hours to give me a break. I will just make sure I have an expressed bottle ready to go so I can rest while she feeds DJ :)
I put DJ in the sling for the first time today but found he was too low, so wondering if I got the right size so will email them to ask. I got it from e-bay - called a nuture sling. Seems to be comfy though, just need to get him more upright. I think he is trying to get comfy in it as well. He fell asleep in it this afternoon, it was soooo sweet.
anyway better go, think I can hear Dj.
Shell xxxx
Great to see you today Pramaxxx
Some pics uploaded of christening.
Rellies didnt offer to help with anything at all. I Get upset for my hubby more than anything he is half way round the world and they make so little contact and then are only here for 4 days and spend a minute amount of time with Will. I get cranky and end up *****ing but I shouldnt becasue it his family. They are just so so very different to mine. I know that my poor DH will be down this week too becasue they are gone.I will continue to make the effort for him and Will but really couldt not care elss if I dont see them for another 3 years again becasue they have hurt dh and let him down so much.
Vent over sorry.
It raind here to day YAY it was lovelyl it smelt so nice. I Love this time of year when you get some sunnydays then rug up at night. AM off have a soal in the bath as Will has gone ot bed and hubby needs to just veg..
Have good night girls
Who is using a baby monitor? What sort? I'm on the look out for one before Jazz goes into her own room which I think will be happening within the next 2-4 weeks.
I'm hoping Jazz will sleep even better tonight than anyother night. She's only had about a total of 2 hours sleep all day, the longest period of sleep was 30mins. She's been out of it now since 9:30 so almost an hour so I think that's her down for the rest of the night. I did have to give her almost a whole bottle and both boobs before she fell asleep though.
Another rainy day......
We had a river running down our street yesterday, no joke it was almost up to the kids knees. I have to try and get them out today maybe swimming at the indoor pool to expel some energy.
Danni i don't use a monitor i can hear her in every part of the house.
Bron, Will is just gorgeous in his gown, lovely pics thanks for sharing them with us.
Prama, how funny Lakshman getting out of his pants! That would have been a shock.
i put a couple more pics up, one is with their Great Grandmother, she met Summer for the first time last week.
Danni I don't have a monitor either. I can hear him anywhere in the house when he needs me. Never used one with my other two. They always seemed to be able to catch my attention when they needed me ;).
I've finally uploaded some more photos. If anyones interested in MCN's I put a photo of Paddy's itti bitti d'lish Lime green nappy. Love it!
Have a good day. Well done to those with babies that are sleeping. To those whose aren't, you are not alone
bron - lovely pix!! he's so gorgeous!! and that cake!!! fantastic!
trina - been raining here all morning too! a wonderful pic with great grandmother. Codie is growing into beautiful young lady!
teach - paddy looks so cute in mcn, hehe.
danni - we dont have a monitor, he sleeps next to me in his bassinet.
shell - hope you're doing ok on your own.
went to see the LC at parramatta family care. she said looks like Poopy isnt opening wide enough and taking the nipple in deep enough. that;s why he keeps chomping close to the nipple, and if i put my nipple far back he has a gag reflex. she also thinks my nipples are a bit more sensitive. we ahve some exercises to train him to open wider..
Trina - wow Summer has grown so much she is soooo cute!!!!!
Teachmum - Paddy does the same pose in his sleep with his arms up in the air haha it is very cute. Paddy is such a cutie.
I must upload some new pics of DJ. Waiting for my hubby to download them for me from the camera. I can't download to this laptop only Doni's work one... Hopefully have some pics uploaded by the weekend. Lots of cute ones too.
Well my first night alone was pretty good. I had DJ in the basinnette pram and brought my dogs in (they are only small dogs) to sleep at the foot of my bed. Anyway, the most cutest thing, one of my dogs 'Biscuit' was soooo protective of DJ and every noise DJ made Biscuit would whimper for him. Even if he was asleep for a while Biscuit would still come up to me. It was very cute but also very tiring...... looks like our dogs will be very protective of little DJ when he is older :) They are really good around him. I still wouldn't leave them alone with him, always supervised because they are dogs.....
Spoke to hubby this morning he is in Townsville and back on Wednesday and he said he had a great night sleep (soooo envious) so once he is back I will make sure I have a few expressed bottles ready to go so he can feed DJ for me kehehee ;) Last night was pretty easy but I think tonight will be the hard one. Plan on getting some sleep later today and then also when my mum pops around to see us. Need to walk up to the shops to get some washing detergent, we have run out and I need to do some loads of washing clothes.
Hope you are all well.
Shell xxx
Prama - that is great news!!! at least you know why your nipples are sooo sore, takes time to train them to open wider. I keep pulling away from DJ if he doesn't open wide enough because that is when I feel pain as well.
How do you feel after yesterday? I am pretty good but knees are killing me, definitely have to remember my yoga mat next week haha
Last night did ok, would be better if DJ fed more than every 3 hours haha it is very tiring. Looking forward to him feeding at least every 4-5 hours haha Hopefully in the next few weeks his feeding routine will change....
hehe shell - my knees hurt as well!! i already have bad knees. i was glad i didnt go again today, hehe. i'll be there next monday but not tuesday again as it's our first mothers group.
Glad you did so well by yourself!! welll done!!!
yeah, it's good to know exactly what the problem is.. looks like i have white spot or nipple bleb on my right nipple. that's probably been giving grief as well, making it sore and blocking the ducts. Nipple Blebs/Blisters - Medela
but im only putting him on the breast 3 times a day. I found a way to make him sleep long. bath/shower before the last feed. then giving him the breast top up with formula. the LC said breast has a sedative effect and the formula fills him up. we put him to bed and we went to bed around 10.30 and he woke up at 6.30!
but im only bathing him every other night.
i also found some dry skin on his hair, looks scaly. i'll go see the ECC on thurs.
he'll be 10 weeks then.. my baby's moving on to double digits!!
SJ - hope you're doing ok, and Molly's hips are ok, hun xoxox
