I'm going to order Jazz's birth certificate. I'm gonna get a commemorative one which is more expensive but you get a standard certificate with it. We are picking up our family photos today so I'll be able to get a photo to the guy who took the casts of her hands & feet so he can get everything framed up and I can collect that too (probably in a couple of weeks).
I had to had least applied to register for the birth certificate before I could get the baby bonus I thought this was the same for everyone. I didnt have to have it in my hand but the paper work had to be sent.
Bloody relatives.I have had very litle sleep not from WIll who is fine despite being so over stimulated but I think I have taken every litle comment to heart about my child rearing practices I even had my aunt follow me out to the car the other night as I went home and asked if he was alright he seemed unsettled..I said he was fine just needed a booby call as he doesnt feed well when there is to much noise. SHe then said..welldo you always feed him like that when you are out ( meaning do you always give him a bottle) I said yes I do.( we had been out to lunch and he needed afeed as they took so long)
I am not overly comefortable breasetfeeding in public and he really wont settle at the breast at all when out so he has a bottle and then booby top up when we get home which isnt usualy long after.This has worked so well for us all along but now I am second guessing everything I am doing with him. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr makes me so mad and I get so up tight and then in tears and it affects him.I love them but atm cant wait for them to leave its been so full on for my mum and they just dont care how loud they yell at the kids ( 3 of them ) and my aunt acts like she is their mother so when they get into trouble there are 3 adults trying to discipline them ( I'd try and kick down the laundry door too as the middle child did)
OH sorry just needed to vent it should be a nice time but its proving stressfull for all.

We took DJ for his immunisation last night and I was sooo nervous beforehand because I didn't want him to be in pain from it :( Poor bubba but he was such a good boy only screamed a little bit and that was just from the shock of the needles. The nurses said he was the best baby last night - definitely doesn't have my pain threshold, so must get that from dad. He was pretty settled afterwards and good last night but fed every 3 hours and needed cuddles and today he is pretty unsettled from it so have baby panadol on standby if needed. Had my first mothers group meeting this morning which was great and learned that at local libaries they have what is called 'Baby bounce' Introducing your baby to music and literacy which is great so going to look into taking DJ to those :) Met other mums and it is good to hear that others are in the same situation and dealing with the same things.... My turn to bring along a cake next week, lucky I have a cake mix in the cupboard. DJ was laying on the floor and looking at the other babies and kept smiling at one of the baby girls - my boy is already a stud - trying to pick-up at 8 weeks!!! kehehee
Doni is in Melbourne, left this morning and hopefully home Friday night but he said it will more likely be Saturday morning so 3 nights without him :( Mum is hoping to stay over tomorrow night providing she can get rid of the flu that is lurging around....she is starting to feel better but wants to be 100% before seeing DJ. Mind you there were a few babies with colds at the mothers group meeting so knowing my luck DJ will get a cold anyway.
Prama - how are you feeling? hope you are feeling better. I shall see if I make the yoga class. With Doni away and not sure if mum can come over I might be too exhausted come Friday.....
Bron - I don't like to breastfeed DJ in public because he is just too vocal, so embarrassing..... I breastfed at mothers group meeting but that is with other mums. I might try to do it one day though I am with you, DJ sometimes won't settle on the breast, keeps fighting it and it makes it difficult for me. Sometimes I will get a silent feed and think what a relief..... I also give him expressed breast milk in bottles because it is just easier sometimes. Just do what you think is best ;)

Bron - tell them all to mind their own business. You are doing a great job, dont let any of them make you feel bad :hug: You are doing what is right for your litte man - every baby is different and you know what he wants and needs and how to look after him... try not to take it to heart.

Shell - glad that DJ did so well - at MG we were told that babies that are bottle and breast feed tend to be noiser feeders at the breast as they have to work much harder when having a booby feed... feeding at MG is a great step - well done - you will get there, some people never feel comfortable, others (me) couldnt give a sh*t if the whole of Chadstone saw my boobs!!!! :lol:
Teach - what are your fav nappies??? i want to try a few more, looking for some trim ones too - got a baby swim nappy in the mail today, bit disappointed, theought there would be more to it, but if it works who cares... hoping to go to the pool this Sat (if i am still feeling brave)
Paula - im looking forward to Mothers day, for years i have been a step mum and occasionally received things (it would never be consistant, some years bth salts, some years nothing and others i would get great pressies, last year i got a juicer!) but this year i am a mummy for real... dont mind what i get, in fact all i really want is DH not to be asked to do anything that day, just preempt things...
spent most of the day at the factory again - was feeling sorry for all those people that had to go out to work last week, and then realsied that it was me too - although it is not the money thing, the business woudl fall over without me! i dont know what we are gong to do when Molly Jane is crawling (ahhhhh)
Thanx SJ I had a realy good chat with the health nurse this afternoon and she was really supportive too and so pleased with how Will is doing He is 5 kilos now and doing well all round.He also had his needles.we both cried *L* then he had a feed and went to sleep and stil is so I hope is wil stay that way for his sake. I so hate that real cry that I hurt cry.
Can I ask a personal question of peeps..feel free to not answer *L* What i syour prefered sort of contraception? DOc put me on the mini pill as I am not the hugest fan of condoms but would certinaly use them if necesary. Trouble is after nearly 3 years on no form of contraception the added hormone seels to realy have me out of sorts. I have pimples which havent for ages and had a bleed and loads of cramping. I always tend to panic when I bleed anyway and as my plattletes are low and I had a clot in myleg after the ceaser I wonder if I really should stop it.Does anybody know a little bit more about it?
Our first mothers group is next Wed and I cant wait to go am going with my girlfriend who had the rough time giving birth and I think it wil be great for her as she has had so little to do with babies.
SJ you are doing well to go to work with Molly Jane I foften think about when WIll is crawling how different htings wil be. As we are so close to the middle of the year to I have been thinking about having to go back to work..all be it in January time just seems to fly by and I cant even contemplate leaving my boy atm.

Question for everyone: If you clap your hands next to your babies ears, what reaction do you get? I was doing that today and Jazz doesn't even flinch. She did pass her hearing test while she was in the hospital but I don't know if I should be worried now. It might be that she's just concentrating on something coz she does flinch when I blow raspberries.

SJ sent me an email and gave me a kick up the bum for disappearing on you all, so here i am. LOL.
I'm really sorry guys, i've been so busy since Dylan started full time kindy, its just nuts here!! he goes every day now for half the day and it's been really difficult to incorporate that plus baby napping and feeding (i've found its really easy to stuff up Ryan's naps and end up having him awake all day because he's over tired), with DH working and having Shane aswell who's not old enough to walk for himself when we go to drop Dylan off at Kindy.
Been soooo exhausted by the time DH gets home from work that i've been needing a nap pretty much every afternoon when he's here to watch the kids.
Occasionally i'm able to get online to read up a little but have always been called away before getting a chance to post, but since i got a concerned email i'm making the time hehe.
I think if i could do over all these kids i definately wouldn't have had them all so close together, 2 might be doable but i'm having a hard time giving each of them the attention they need at the various stages they're at. Dylan just starting Kindy, they're very involved there and he's just starting his education type stuff, so he needs support there, Shane's just really beginning to talk and soon we'll be toilet training, and obviously there's Ryan who needs feeding every couple hours plus some play time etc...

First mother's day for some of you on Sunday, how exciting!! i've got a particularly busy weekend planned, we've got a friend coming over for dinner on Friday evening, then a family lunch here Saturday arvo for DH's birthday, dinner at another friend's that night for DH's birthday, and then my mum, grandmother and uncle coming over for dinner sunday evening for mother's day.. ugh.. i didn't realise just how busy it was til i saw it all in print there, hrm... trapped myself in a bit of a corner, lol, ahh well i dont think anyone will mind if its a little substandard, they'll understand hehe.
Anywho, it sounds like Dylan and Shane are trying to kill each other or something so i'd better go give them something to do hehe.

shell - glad you enjoyed the mothers group. yesterday we were told about toy libraries. im thinking of checking it out. Early Words early literacy program for western Sydney — Community resources you can find your local one here.
i also went to the library and got him a touchy feely book. the parramatta library has bibs'n'books where there's nursery rhymes and stories for those under 2 every thursday. might check it outnext week.
good on baby bounce sounds like fun!!
i would find it hard looking after poopy all day for a few days without steve. i get to do other things when he comes back in the evening.
hehe - dj;s so cute picking up that girl! lol
poopy seems to smile at women only..haha. maybe he's into older women.
bron - so sorry about whats going on.. it really sux when ppl tell you what to do, when we ourselves are trying our hardest to do our best when sometimes we dont know what to do. but we try anyway, and its trial and error. it's frustrating. could you tell her in a subtle was to pi$$ off? you dont need that stress.
sj - i know, crawling is going to make things more challenging.. right now i can leave him for a bit and go do soemthing and he's still in the same spot! have to be careful when he starts rolling too.

it's tough having 3 kids so close, i shouldnt complain.. but i think you doing a fantastic job, you are doing your best.

bron - we've always used the barrier method, condoms/withdrawals. i just dont like the thot of taking the pill or other stuff in my body. it messes the system and i dont like it.

Bron don't you love people giving advice and trying to make you feel like you are doing the wrong thing, all it is is them trying to look good cos they are crap at everything else in their lives hehe but seriously don't listen to them cos will is yours you made him and you are his only mummy and you are doing the right thing for you and him.
SJ rofl it doesn't bother me either, i whip the girls out to feed Summer any time she needs it, the only place i don't is at school. If anyone has a problem then they can look away. I am going to try the bum genius nappies, they look great, easy to use, trim etc. Still haven't gone down the cloth route, no money for the investment plus i wanted something trim and easy
oh yeah Bron, i have used the mini pill and fallen pg on it!!!! Having to take it at the same time every day was difficult, i didn't have any reaction to it, it's the only pill that was ok but i still don't want to take it, we still haven't DTD DH is going to get snippy snippy but hasn't got off his a*se to organize it, plus there is not one second alone plus no energy plus no time the list goes on. I'm very fertile so we are avoiding each other for that reason too we will have years to make up for it later.
Prama Summer rolls from her tummy to her back all the time now and every time its like she gets a little fright or surprises herself hehe too cute. Not looking forward to the crawling and getting into everything stage, best i start thinking of baby proofing things.
I am really looking forward to a quiet day soon, this week can't end soon enough. How the hell am i going to work?? I'm sure ill find a way. I'm off to bed legs are aching. I can't wait 2 weeks until holiday to QLD. (apart from the driving part not looking forward to that)

Woah.... finally got DJ settled arghhhhhhh he was so good in his immunisation last night so I had to expect that today would be an unsettled one. He had a good 3 hour sleep this afternoon but that is it, and now just got him back to bed for another sleep and hoping he won't wake up now until his midnight feed (fingers crossed). I think I will be more prepared for his next immunisation and make sure Doni is home the following day with some expressed bottles ready to go and top-up feeds etc. Oh and nappies ready to go, because he has been peeing and pooing like there is no tomorrow haha
Spoke to my mum and she still isn't well and won't come over tomorrow night but is resting tonight and tomorrow so she is well enough to come over on Friday night instead. She misses DJ so much and just wants to cuddle him so doesn't want to risk coming over tomorrow night.
SJ - yeah it is a bugger, I think it didn't help that he was so unsettled today though, but yeah breastfeeding in public is one thing I do where I feel comfortable. Sorry to hear you were busy at the factory today. Have you got one of those playpens for when Molly starts crawling? Maybe that might be ok?
Prama - thanks for the link I will check it out. Yeah it will be exhausting for me for the next 3 nights with no support so I will make sure I express some milk ready for Doni to feed him when he gets home because I will need a break for sure. Feeling tired now but won't bother going to bed until after his midnight feed.
Bron - my obstetrician gave me a script for the mini pill as well and I am hesitant about taking it as well, never took the pill and when I did try it I was an emotional rollercoaster, so moody and broke out in more pimples and put on weight from it as well. So all not good. He said to give it a go, it is only a a mini pill. I will get it over the next few days.
Jade - you are amazing and doing such a great job. I find it hard just with the one, but you have 3!! You deserve a great mothers day on Sunday :) hope you get spoilt!!

I picked up our family photos today. I'm quite dissappointed. The one we got for free is fantastic! The one we paid $80 for is blurry. I rang the place to complain but they were shut for the day. I left a message and will ring them again tomorrow. I'll scan and post them in my gallery soon.
Hi Everyone! We've got our needles next week and I'm not looking forward to it :(
:angry: My DH got fired yesterday :angry: He is an Aircraft Maintainence Engineer, on one of the jobs he was doing, one of the 60 or so screws he was doing up broke. He didn't fix it straight away, forgot about it, remembered about it, told everyone, fixed the problem so there was no more problem and thought it was finished. He got called into some bosses office where they were like explain yourself. They decided that the PURPOSEFULLY stuffed up the job so that it jepodised future business from this particular client!!!! So they fired him! It was a honest mistake, which he rectified. IMO it should have been a written warning at worst. GRRRRR so mad. Just what we need.
Bron We've always used the Billings method; natural family planning. It's always worked very well for us. I was on the pill once many years ago and I hated it, made me feel like rubbish and very moody - no thanks!!! I got this thing from the chemist called a 'Maybe Baby' it's a saliva ovulation tester. It says not to use it for contraception purposes but I don't see why you can't, so I do!!! It works for us. The only downside is when you most feel like DTD is when you are most fertile!
Jade Wow!:clap: I am struggling with one newborn and a husband! I hope your Mother's day is wonderfully relaxing and that DH does everything!
Shell Hat's off to you not having Doni at home so often. My DH has been working nightshift for the 2 months or so, so he was home (and awake and able to help me) for about 3 hrs before he was off to work again. It was horrible. Hope your mum gets better soon so you can have a little break.

What a night :( I am sooo exhausted. Ended up staying up til 1am waiting to feed DJ I was going to go to bed but knew I would only have to get up an hour later. Then put him to sleep at 1:45am and next feed at 4:30am, followed by another feed at 6:30am and 8:30am arghhhhh He is going through such a growth spurt at the moment and it is very frustrating for me. I am also having some attachment issues with him. He will attach for 1 minute and then come off again and then I put him back on again and off again and this will go on for his entire feed. It is extremely frustrating.....I just keep persisting.
For those who are breastfeeding - anyone else having these type of issues??? It is driving me nuts, you would think by now after 8 weeks that it would be easier.... I was only planning to breastfeed for 4 months so I can wean him off breastmilk when I head back to work etc but crikies the rate I am going at I will get it down pat by the time I ready to finish it..... grrrrrr Sorry just needed to vent.....
Catherine - that is terrible news about your husband losing his job, and definitely not what you need at the moment, they certainly should have given him a warning or something berfore that..... Look into his rights as well, he might be able to fight them on it ;)
Danni - sorry to hear the photo didn't turn out I would complain especially since you are spending $80 on it.
I was going to head to Medicare today to put through some claims but with DJ being so unsettled I think I will just stay home today and try to head out tomorrow instead. Luckily Medicare is opened on Saturday mornings just in case I can't get out tomorrow.....
Does anyone have any books by Gina Ford? Contented Little Baby book?? It was suggested at the mothers group.

Catherine - so sorry, thats awful news... like shell said, is there anyway you can look at unfair dismissal??? was he on an AWA? if not i am pretty sure that they would not be able to fire him just like that, specially as he fix the problem (its not like the plane broke and then he went, oh yeah thats right theres no screw in there!!!!) Has he receievd warnings before - you can just fire someone like that...
Im going to check the Billings method out... im really fertile too, well i assume i am, Mum was and on our very first effort at falling pg we got MJ (poor DH was looking forward to 'trying'), i have always been on a strong pill (not the mini) but cant go back to that, and there is NO WAY i would rememeber to take the minipill at the same time every day...
think we will have to rely on condoms when i am ovulating, my problem is, if you dont get your AF when BF you cant work out your cycle...
Shell - my friend from the UK has that Book and she swears by it
Molly can get fussy at the boob sometimes, she will pull off and headbutt it a few times then go back on and then off again... other times she is fine.
Jade - good to hear from you and glad everything is OK - other than being incrediably busy!!!
Trina - how long is the car trip??? hopefully you have a great break altogether
When did Summer start rolling, MJ still is not liftig her head much, i am going to increase tummy time, every time she is on her front though she brings her legs up (in crawling position) and kickes them around. Health nurse told me to oush her bum down.

im so annoyed w Births Deaths and Marriages, couple of weeks ago they told us the BC will be ready in 8 weeks which is this weeks. so DH rang them and now they say 12 weeks, nothings updated on their website.
So DH went in and they said tehy can see that they started the process of our application on the 17th of March but cant find where it is!!!
so DH managed to get one on the spot, and all it took the lady to do it is 5 minutes!! holy crap, what is BDM up to!!!
we are going to get his passport pix today and do it online and take the form to the PO on Sat to get it processed.
catherine - so sorry hun, that's awful.. yeah maybe he can look at unfair dismissal, he was honest about it and fixed it. that's terrible.
shell - sorry abt bf-ing stuff. does dj still have a stuffed nose, it could be hindering his breathing when sucking.

we used the billings method to fall pg, and maybe baby and basal temp and TCOYF software.. it didnt take us very long. 2 cycles.. i didnt find maybe baby effective. as you can see i wanted to make sure my time was write, with all those methods. lol.. poor DH, at that stage I was like today! Today! chop chop! it was all scheduled and not fun sometimes!
and yes, it's hard to tell now with no AF. Last weekend was going to be our DTD but of cos we were both sick. maybe i'll get a special mothers day present hehe.
shell - hope bf-gets better, you're doing so well now, from your expressing days.
i have to go, i just put the nappies to rinse and Poopy did a poo! so i have put that nappy in and re-rinse. he always seems to know to poo when im rinsing nappies.
i have to vent.
went to the eCC and poopy only put on 150g in 2 weeks and grew 1 cm. i feel like a total failure. hes healty and all but at the bottom of the chart. im doing my best to bf him more and more now plus top up. i was happy yesterday cos he's 3 mths and i still managed to bf some. but today i feel like crap, i just feel like a complete failure, a hopeless mum for not being able to get him to put on more weight.
sj - lakshman isnt rolling yet. but your recommendation to put him on the sofa works heaps better than on the floor, he doesnt cry anymore. thanks so much. the nurse also said if youre changing him on the change table, after the change, you can give a min of tummy time too. so that gives you 6mins aday with 6 changes.
i find that he finds it a bit harder w BBH nappies on, cos they seem heavy. i hold his legs sometimes.

bron - the birth cert was seperate. the baby bonus application was with the medicare application, and what they said was to get teh baby bonus, you must have got or applied for your birth cert. so we submitted the birth cert first and then went to the medicare office, a few days later.
SJ - thanks for the reassurance I ended up reintroducing the nipple shield and he just had a good 20 min feed - still came off a bit but not as bad, started to introduce nipple without shield as well. I just need to be patient as well, think he could sense I was getting so stressed about it which didn't help much. And yeah as much as I don't to go on mini pill because I am also hopeless in remembering to take my vitamins let alone contraception....
Prama - nose is fine just attaching wrong, so reintroduced the nipple shield which seemed to have helped. Will keep persisting. Don't put so much pressure on yourself, you are doing such an amazing job. He is probably just getting what he needs. What did community nurse say to you? Don't stress too much - haha I should really take my own advice sometimes!!! But seriously you are an amazing mum, I have seen you with him and he loves you to bits :)
Finally got DJ to sleep, got some Celtic Lullabies playing ahhhh what a relief, going to try and get some rest myself, feel a bit overtired though, so probably won't even sleep arghhhh.... need to get some sleep to prepare for another night alone.

thanks shell!! you're lovely. nurse said that he's fine, he looks good and has enough wet nappies, so he is getting enough. i give him the boob and top up. if he has fomula, he's taking more than what they work out he should get. his arms and legs are chubby so he's not skinny. so i dunno why he's not putting on more wgt.the other thing is i'm afraid he'll grow up to be this little kid and get bullied etc. i got bullied in school, and it was terrible.
im glad he's feeding better w the shield. maybe he;s being fussy after the needles? dunno, just guessing.. maybe they change the way they want to feed? it's hard not to get stressed isnt it, when you just want to attach properly and drink well and fill his tummy. i get stressed too, sometimes he keeps detaching, other times he chomps. i get a bit annoyed then i feel bad.
glad doni is back soon. can you go with him on trips? it might be a change for you and you wont hve to be alone. being alone is so full on.
Thanks girls. No He hasn't had any written warnings before. This is a 'first time offense' which is why I'm so mad. He has been working over and above for them at the expense of spending time with myself and Flynn. They have been paying him the wrong wage which they decide to fix the day they fired him! They are just a bunch of jerks who care more a $$ than their workers. DH saw the union guys about it and they reckon it's unfair dismissal. I have no idea what that really means tho :dunno: SIGH!
Shell Flynn was feeding like that around 5-6 weeks. I don't know why. He is pretty good now. I guess it's just something they do sometimes!
Prama Well done on getting your BC. I hate how they can suddenly do it for you when you push them!

Catherine, unfair dismissal means that they may have to reinstate him (although sometimes that is not in his best interest if they are ar$eholes) or pay him out for a period of time.
I would be making sure that the pay issue is sorted out and if he has been asked to leave and not come back, they have to pay him for a period of time (it depends on how long he has been working there.) or allow him to work this time
If he has the union involved though, hopefully they will sort it for him.
Unfair dissmissal also means that he may need to take the case to VCAT.

Fussy at the boob can also be because of hormonal changes too - my friend could always tell when AF was coming as her little ones would pull off and on or sometimes refuse feeds even when they were hungry (the up side to this was she knew when it was coming)
Prama glad you got the Cert - we got our months ago (well thats an overstatement seeing MJ is only 2 months old - weeks is more like it :lol: )

Prama - glad the nurse was good and you can see that he is putting on weight in the right areas :) DJ still has chicken legs haha. Ob apt went really well and had my pap smear while I was there. He gave me script for mini pill and told me to get a follow-up gestational diabetes test to check that the diabetes is all cleared. Meant to make that appt today but forgot.....Will do tomorrow. My scar is all healed up so all good. Having probs settling DJ tonight, he has bad wind. arghhhh gave him some Donnalix to try and calm him down to sleep just keeps stiring but hopefully he will manage to sleep for a few hours so I can have a break.
Not sure how I will get through tonight since I am already so tired. I will attempt to get some sleep now, but don't think that will help since he keeps stiring.... arghhh just goes to show how much you depend on your husbands hey? I don't know how single mums cope, I find it hard when Doni is away......

Hi Prama - i had/have the same problem re: bf and Joshua putting on weight - to be honest its still ongoing. A paediatrician from Westmead Private said he was under weigh for his 6 week check up and since than its all gone down hill - hence why i was seeking mothers group around parra to talk to. The doc said to top him up with formula 30, 40, 60ml nothing concrete which i did occasionally when i thought he was more hungry - to be honest this totally stuffed me up and Joshua became more unsettled to the point where he was diagnosed by a mothercraft of having silent reflux...he wasnt sleeping during the day at night he wasnt too bad. Now i have changed docs and he made a good point by saying if your topping up (what ever amount) its actually weaning him of the boob. So now im just placing him on the boob whenever he is crying + his feed ie. feed, play feed sleep. Im increasing my feeds. Ive got a credited lactation consultant coming on Tuesday so hopefully she will help me...she also said that my using a nipple shield (which i do) doesnt decrease the milk supply which ive heard does. Anyway i can keep u posted ont his if you like.... im finding this very hard and stressful as i feel im always onthe boob and fearing whether he is getting enough. xx

a question - how long do you girls plan to bf? 3mths is a huge milestone for me. i was thinking till 4mths, but since we are going to be overseas, his gp suggested bf-ing till we come back at 6mths so that he doesnt pick up anything. i grew in malaysia so i should have all the immunities.

Hey Prama - im hoping to BF for at least 6 months if i can - depending on milk supplies and sore nipples.... i want to at least get through winter than im happy....just dont want him or me to get sick... my g/f who have had babies and bf said it does really help their immune system so the longer you can bf the better - especially in the long run.
That would be great if you could give me the number - ill c how this LC goes on tues and if i need more help (which i think i will) i would like to see someone close by. Its nice to c im not the only one going through this...they said bf was hard but i never thought it would b this hard.

Shell Summer sometimes pulls off and fiddles on the boob, when she is like that i don't keep trying, i take her off hurts too much, she is usually overtired or windy and not hungry enough so i wait until she is hungry enough to get the job done.
I have a cold :( started with a sore throat yesterday and this morning still went to the gym and now i am feeling super crappy, Summer is grumpy and clingy today hope she isn't getting it.
I am going out in the morning to do a few things then not going anywhere!!!!!! i have not been home for longer than an hour during the day this week no wonder i feel crap.

i was on the nipple shield and now just the boob, and it's sore and very painful when he latches on. i feel like he's chomping on milk ducts.
the parramatta family care numberis 9843 3222. it goes to the main line and you can ask to make an appt with marilyn jones. usually a lady called sue picks up and she gives you advise first. sometimes you have to insist that youwant to see marilyn. i didnt quite like sue's approach, tho she might be able to give some good advise. the first few weeks i was feeding poopy for 1.5hrs at a time and was getting tired and my supply was low, and sue's advise was to feed him every to hrs. i was like wt.... that means im constantly feeding!
i hope you'll be able to ring and make an appt with marilyn, i was refered by my ECC but i called them myself.

I've noticed that Jazz now goes longer between feeds and is less demanding. Overnight she'll go 6-10 hours, then she'll go 5 hours after her first feed before wanting more. Today I only fed her a total of 5 times, once with a bottle coz we were out and about and it's easier. I've upped her amount of formula when giving her a bottle as of today. I'm now giving her 150ml instead of 100ml so I've stopped using the half size bottles and have bought some full size ones.
I've really got to get the enrolment forms done for childcare coz I'm starting to look for work.

Wow just had some catch up reading to do. I had to give back my work computer so I now have to share with two teenagers and I can't stay awake as long as them ;).
SJ = My favourite pocket nappies are Green kids or bum genius. Both are osfa (I'm a cheapskate) They're reasonably trim and don't leak (Paddy is a heavy wetter). The Green kids boosters are my favourite though. I've bought a couple of extras to boost my other nappies. If you want some sized nappies the cutest ones I've found are itti bitti d'lish. I've got an elmo (red) one and a kermit(lime green) one. They are the trimest ones, almost as trim a sposie. I bough Paddy a medium coz he's a big boy and they have a low rise.
Mini pill- I tried this after I had DS1 but like Trina said it's too hard to remember to take it at the same time every day. It also made me very moody and cranky. Just use condoms.
Paddy had his needles yesterday. It is so much worse than with my first two. The babies get so many more immunisations and that 2nd needle is soo painful for them. He's been very sleepy today and not his usual happy self but I've only had to give him Panadol twice. The syrup has upset his tummy but infants friend seems to have helped a little. Sure made him poo a lot more.
Weighed Paddy at MG today. We're up to 6.64kg @ 9 weeks. Prama and ania we have a couple of bubs that are more petite than others. It isn't that unusual so don't feel bad you're doing a great job.
Trina I get the girls out in public too. People stare at them when they're fully clothed but tend to look away once you get them out. I breastfeed at DS1 bball training in front of 14 year olds and they don't even bat an eyelid.
Watched a great video at MG today. It was by gymbaroo an just went through all the different ways to play that helps with development. Low and behold babies of the same age physically developed at different rates ;).To help Paddy learn to roll I hold his arm and start to pull him onto his side but go slow enough so he starts to use his own muscles, then onto his tummy if he doesn't do it himself. He is starting to get the idea and is nearly rolling onto his side by himself.
Shell make sure you get your follow up GTT test. Mine came back as impaired glucose tolerance so I have to get tested in 3 months :(. I'm trying to lose some more weight before then and hopefully it will come back with a better result.
Off to watch Trinny & Susannah fit bras ...
Well I managed a good 3 hour sleep YAY now just doing the midnight feed. Think he has had enough, just sitting up just in case. He wouldn't take anymore but sometimes he does this and still is hungry.
Teach - yeah I will book in for test but also nervous about it, my belly is just getting bigger not smaller mind you I bloat alot from certain foods but still not looking forward to it :( Wow Paddy is growing really well as well - congrats!!
Prama - oh der I should have known it was aunt flow haha yeah that wouldn't surprise me that they were coming soon.
Trina - hope you feel better soon sweets. It is always good to know th at we are all in the same situation going through the same things - very reassuring :) Take care of yourself and try to get some rest.
Ania - good luck with LC - let us know how you go. If DJ still has attachment issues I will probably go see them as well, but since I have started introducing the shield again he is much better, and then I take it away in the middle of the feed and he feeds ok again, so who knows, just keep an eye on it.

teach - lol, good training for the 14yr olds, so they know boobs are both sexual and functional. some men are so offended bf-ing in public but happily look at topless pictures plastered everywhere. im sure some of them were fed the same way!
did the nurses give him both needles at one go? our did and i thot that was clever, keeps the misery to min.

shell - glad you got some sleep last night. hope you get a lot more'.. DJ's sleeping habits will change soon and he'll sleep more. Poopy just changed, and was sleeping from 10.30 to 5.30 one day. the alternate nights i bathe him, give him a feed, then some play time with us in bed, then put him in his bassinet, and leave him to laugh himself silly looking at the mobile for abit then turn the light off. so far that seems to work. tho im sure, the long sleep will change soon. i read that they changes lots again at 4mths! and they will start getting a bit more manipulate to get you to carry them....
had a bit of scare last night. we were in bed and DH had poopy on his chest giving him some tummy time and suddenly poopy rolled off his chest and did a double roll and landed on the bed between me and DH. i screamed and started to cry. DH picked poopy but and he had the biggest smile! i of course scolded DH for not being more careful, as he could have rolled off the other side and fallen on the floor. men! they seem to be so much more laid back about these things.

hey girls, can i ask a silly question. when you're bf-ing, do you squirt spontaneously? i can only squirt if i squeeze my boobs. when i have a let down, it doesnt squirt, just dribbles. Actually can you just squirt without touching your boobs?
Prama they gave hime one needle at a time. He's normally a really easy going bub but didn't settle very easily. DH said the needle they use is really long and he did bleed a little in the second injection site so maybe it wasn't the nurses best effort. He didn't sleep as long between feeds last night but is very sleepy ifykwim. He also wet through his night nappy which is amazing coz it's so absorbent.
BTW SJ if you're looking for a night nappy Lou Lou's is excellent.
Question - which clothes do you find the smallest make? For me it's bonds. Paddy seems to be bursting out of the 00 wondersuits but other makes are fine. I wonder why Bonds sizing are so small, maybe coz they're stretchy?

teach - i had a look at itti bitti fitted ones, the flannel and bitti boos, do you use htem? which one's better. i like them but hte only thing is that they are sized and with the BBH ones, you can use them at any size. so that saves money..
Yes Prama I'm a tight ar$se too but if you want a couple of trim show off nappies that are really absorbent then buy itti bitti d'lish. They're about $30 and come with a system of three inserts that have colour coded snaps (don't have to remember how to put them in). They dry fast and after they outgrow them you could still use the inserts with your BBH. One benefit of having a small bub is they are going to last a long time.
