Blanche - great to hear things are settling down!
Jodi - yay on Emily sleeping all night
Lulu - 125mls is huge! I wish I could express that in one go.
Kristale - you must be excited to have your DH back!
I started on the motilium and I can only assume it is increasing my supply only by the fact that DS is going longer between feeds during the day (ie 3 hours instead of 2). The last couple of nights he has been waking more for feeding too. He goes from 10pm and then wakes about 12:30/1am, then again about 2:30/3am and then again around 6/7am.
Thinking I might venture out to the shops this afternoon. After getting out on our own this week for our checks it felt good to get out of the house.
Woohoo...Joshua was just giggling and laughing for the first time sooo cute! He has been smiling for a couple of weeks now but this is the first time I heard him laugh.
YAY Joshua :happyforyou: It's so cute when they do that isn't it.
hi ladies, sorry not up to personals its been a very emotional week, i wont go into details cause its very upsetting but if any of you have seen the pregnancy after stillbirth and loss thread this week will understand.
do you think our little ones feel our stress, cause ever since about saturday last week joeys been quite unsettled, he's just starting to settle now, we even managed a 6 hour sleep last night.
jodi thanks for askign, we had another check on tuesday with the MHN and he put on another 500grams in 10 days, so thats pretty good I'm thinking, must be due to last weekends 2 hourly comfort feeds. we have the laughing starting too, except that today it was in to mid air, i was thinking maybe his angel sister was there making him laugh.
anyway sorry for not saying much but i really should be resting as jo jo is asleep, not sure i will be on much for about the next 6 weeks as we have my sister and her family visiting from overseas, so take care everyone and give your little ones an extra special cuddle and kiss from me.
Klee - I am so very sorry about Mel's little Joshua.. Its just so unfair. Losing bubs while pregnant has broken my heart and I just can't imagine how totally destroying it would be to have been able to hold her beautiful son and give wings to all those hopes and dreams, only to have him so cruelly taken from her. Strength and love to you for tomorrow - it will be a very, very tough day. I'm holding my little girls a bit closer today.
klee - that's so tragic for mel & her dh. I will be thinking of them today @ 1pm, and also beyond that.
As for stress, yes, they can definitely pick up on it. I know it's hard not to be stressed and upset during this difficult time, but try and relax as much as you can while you're feeding or holding him.
And how cute that he's giggling at his angel sister! Nina used to look up at the ceiling in her room, and smile or giggle at it. There was nothing there, so I was thought she had an angel there with her.
We had a good weekend. Was very busy, we were hardly home, but it was good. Nina has broken out in spots since yesterday, so off to the dr today to see what it is. I hope Emily doesn't get whatever it is. I really don't want to have 2 sick kids right now.
Emily woke up twice last night. Which is unlike her. She had quick feeds then went straight back to sleep. So I'm a little more tired than usual. And Nina woke at 7am, which is very early for her. Usually it's around 8.30.
klee - so very sorry to hear about mel  thinking of you all xx
jodi - hopefully nina's spots are nothing. Josh also woke up twice last night - at 2am and then 4am but both were quick feeds and he only wanted the one side, then he was up at 7am.
Got him weighed today and he's put on 80g...i'm starting to accept that he is just not a big/fast weight gainer. We bought him a cradle swing on the weekend, just so he can sit in something that gives him a good view of everything...he seems to love it so far.
Klee- So sorry to hear about Mel my thoughts to you all.
Amelie had had two bad nights in a row waking at 10pm, 2am, 4am then 6:30am so feeling very tired and I have been looking after my DH 8 year old foster brother and DH is away AGAIN! But only for 1 night so hoping to catch up on sleep today.
Laranna- Amelie also has a swing thing and she loves it.
For the last few days J has been sleeping quite well after his night time feeds. He's feeding around 9:30ish and then wakes again aroun 2-3am and again at around 5-6, then again around 8-9 and he has been sleeping well between all those feeds. He's still asleep now although he is starting to stir for another feed. In saying this I've probably jinxed myself now! :)
The other night he must have had a bad dream or scared himself because he woke up suddenly with a really loud cry and I practically jumped out of bed, he scared the crap out of me, I was thinking OMG what's happened! But I picked him up and gave him a big cuddle while he did a few little sobs and 5 minutes later he was back asleep again.
Still really haven't worked out a nice evening routine yet. But we are getting there. We tend to bath him then I give him a feed at 7pm and try and settle him until his next feed around 9 and in the middle of all that try and cook and eat dinner! :)
Hope everyone is well!
Hi girls, sorry have been MIA for last week or so.
Just been flat out over the hols with 11yo DSS staying with us down from his mum's in QLD. He's been a great help in keeping harry occupied while I try to feed but is still another person int he house to feed, remind to shower, brush his teeth, etc.
Also had his bday in the middle of his stay with us so was a huge day with a family trip to the Melb Museum and then party tea at KFC and one of his mates come to sleep over that night. By 11pm that night I was feeling like the old woman who lived in a shoe!:-)
Also copped a nasty dose of mastitis on Friday arvo and by sat am was in total agony. DH was on run of nightshifts so luckily I was able to get my mum to look after kids while I went off to the docs on sat am to get some anti's and am now feeling 200% better. Couldn't believe just how quickly the fever, temp & aches n pains come on- bit scary really.
Am trying to get milk supply back to normal now as it had kicked into overdrive while I was trying to feed every 2hrs on weekend to drain boobs fully.
Had been feeling like I had the whole 2 under 2 thing under control until last weekend but now that I;ve had some decent catchup sleep, things are starting to look clearer again and back to normal.
Have had a quick breaze over previous posts- klee sorry to hear the horrible news- i honestly don;t know if I could survive something as strong as that and think that people liek you guys & mel's family are just pure angels to be able to manage on with everyday life so well like you do. Chin up charlie! We're always here for you- anytime you need it!
Macey had her 8wk check up today. has put on another 600gms in 4 weeks so am now upto 4710gms and grown another 3cms to 56cm. She's starting to fit into her 000 gear really well now so have been having fun dressing her up for day time outings. She also had her needles today and so far seems ok and happy to snooze the day away (probably a smart idea as it's only 5 degree outside here atm and doesn't look like getting any warmer. some parts of town even had snow this morning- bbrrrrrr)
on another note, how are everyones bubs poos going? Have your bubs slowed down now too? Macey averages one poo every 8-10 maybe. MHN didn;t seem concerned about it as it it not causing her greif but my god she has some stinky farts!!! I;m sure they've come close to killing the cat they are that potent!
ok should be tyding the house while both kids are in bed so need to run.
hugs to all the growing bubs!
for soem
mastitis, I've heard that can be nasty beck. thank goodness you're on the mend now. Sounds like you've had a busy week. Bet you'll be glad when school holidays are finished. 5 degress! ****!!! We only getting 24-26 degrees during the day here
That's a great weight gain btw.
Laranna - that's good to hear night time is settling down for you. As for a night time routine, I think what you're doing sounds good. It's hard to get everything organised at night when you're trying to settle and feed a baby. The best advice I can give you for that one, is to organise dinner early afternoon. I've already put my dinner on for tonight. Not sure when your dh gets home from work, but I plan on having dinner on the table by 6.30 at the latest each night. We found that to work best.
kristale - how was last night, any better?
ETA:
I hope Blanche doesn't mind me saying this, but her little man Jack is in hospital with bronchiolitis. Has been since Sunday night.
Blanche honey, I hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Blanche - sorry to hear about Jack, I hope he gets well very very soon
beck - ouch on the mastitis, glad you are feeling better. WRT the poos, J is doing them 2-3 times a day and farts plenty! His farts dont really smell unless he does one while I'm cleaning his butt and then its peeewww!
Jodi - great idea about getting dinner ready early, I did manage to do that last night and am hoping for the same tonight.
We had an arvo out at the shops, came up to J's feed time and found out the parenting rooms were crap so luckily J seemed happy to wait 20 min til we got home.
Blanche- hope Jack gets better soon.
Beck- Amelie still goes atleast once a day but before it was two or more and very smelly wind to.
Another crappy night for us. Praying tonight will be better she must be having another growth spurt beacause she just wants more food when she wakes.
Laranna- Where was the parenting room crap? They have a great one at Carousel.
We met our mothers group today we were out for about 3hrs and Amelie was awake nearly the whole time so she got to see the other bubs for the first time as she is normally asleep.
Kristale - this was at Whitfords, I don't normally go there as its not really near me but was catching up with a friend...anyway, the parenting room had 2 cubicles with a curtain and a couple of sinks, not much room to swing a cat and felt a bit grotty. Oh well, it was the first time I've been in one, might have to venture down to carousel one day...I'm NOR...
How did Amelie react to other bubs? At my bf group, Josh looks around with wide eyes.
oh Blanche, hoping that little Jack gets better soon. Its a horrible thing to deal with with little ones (even more so when they're just bubs!) Hope he's on the mend.
Jodi: thanks for letting us all know.
Blanche - I hope Jack gets better very soon. Poor little guy.
Jodi - how's Nina?
Beckstar - how are you feeling? Owchies.
Laranna - the parents' room in Myer at Karrinyup is disgusting too. Great set up with a little play pen thing for toddlers and a toilet that fits you and the pram but my God it stinks. Truly disgusting. There is one upstairs in DJs in the city which was ok, but the very best one I've found is at Innaloo (don't laugh at the name eastern states ladies!) - very clean, smells lovely (if a public toilet ever can!) and they have a lovely big toilet that you can easily wheel the pram into with you - one of my biggest fears. Isn't it sad what excites us now - good parents' rooms
Kristale - I hope you get a better night's sleep tonight. You poor love.
I've had a pretty awful few days and spent a lot of time in tears. Elena has been really grouchy since having her vaccinations last week and I have no idea what is wrong with Isabelle but she has been a clingy, whingy nightmare. My poor girls have both been very demanding and there just hasn't been enough of me to go around. The up side is that El seems to be getting a bit of consistency with her night feeds. I give her a feed around 10.30 pm and she seems to wake around 4am, and then again about 7.30 or so. Pretty civilised. Can't wait for that 4am sleep to disappear but I have a feeling that won't happen for some time. Anyway, time to go and give my girl a last feed and head to bed. Sleep well mums and bubs.
hi ladies thanks for the well wishes and thanks Jodi for letting them know
im home tonight to be with DD as she isnt coping with me being away shes been having nightmares poor little chicken so my mum is up at the hospital with Jack tonight and ill head back in the morning. hes doing better today hes on only a little bit of oxygen and is still being feed through the nose tube but is having little 20-30ml bottles for comfort feeds and to see if he can handle them, which he seems to be doing okay atm and not having to work to hard to breath. so heartbreaking to see them like this not a nice thing for a little bub to have :( best get some rest now hoping to be home before the weekend
take care sorry about the me post im sure you will all understand!
blanche - it must be so hard seeing him like that. I hope you have him home by the weekend.
lulu - for you too. Sounds like you need them. I remember Nina was really bad after her 8 week needles, which is why I'm dreading them so much tomorrow for Em. I know what you mean about that 4am feed, I hate it. It's the only feed for the night, but it's a PITA at that hour. I hope the clinginess settles down soon for the girls.
Nina is going well, thanks for asking. The spots don't look like much, probably just a virus or something.
beck - I forgot to answer your question yesterday, Em poos every 3 days.
I think my terrific 'toddler who sleeps in till 8.30 each morning' has gone :( The last 3 days, Nina's woken at 6.45. That's very early for me. I've got no idea why she's doing it either. Well daycare were happy for me to take her there today, considering the spots are fading and she's not sick. So just me and Em today.
Laranna- Amelie was wide eyed with the other bubs too she seemed to love it.
Yay a good night sleep for us last night!
Jodi- Sorry to hear your terrific toddler is changing. Amelie always wakes before 7am.
Lulu- I hope the rest of your week improves with your girls. I am also dreading having Amelie's vacc's so I am getting them done on Friday so we have the weekend with DH if things dont go well.
Blanche- I hope you have your little man home soon.
Blanche - hope little Jack is home soon. It is so hard seeing them unwell.
Lulu - I've heard good things about Innaloo parenting room so might go there next time. I hope the girls settle down for you too
Jodi - I'm dreading the vaccinations too, J is having his tomorrow.
You girls are lucky with one feed during the night. J is having 2. Last feed is around 9:30pm. Then he wakes at 2am then again around 5am. But thats ok as I would prefer him to get as much milk as he can since his weight gains have been low.
He has been a cheeky monkey at his last feed, keeps pulling off my boob and giggling. I didn't think my boobs were that funny :D
:hello: everyone, I am sorry i have been MIA for a while! I have come to the conclusion that i just don't have enough hours in a day! But i have been reading my emails everyday sometimes not until the night time, but i just dont have the timeto get on and reply very often. So please know i am here in spirit if not words LOL!
Blanche I am soo sorry to hear about Jack hun, I hope he is on the mend, nothing worse than wactching your little bubbas struggle
Klee sincere condolances for Mel and you all. I wont pretend to understand the connection or that i even know Mel but i feel for you all at such a horrible time in your lives  No words can make it better so all i can say is we are all here.
Laranna that is soo cut ethat J is giggling at your boob  Molly tries to laugh but all she manages is a little coughing sound atm!
Kristale yay for getting into a mothers group, its awesome having peole to catch up with who have bubbas at the same age. I had a great group with Mitchie but dont really have a group this time round, just all the lovelies on here!
Jodi how was your day with just you and Em? would have been good to have a bit of one on one time!
Lulu  its soo hard some days isnt it! I hope things are starting to settle for you. It could just have been that Issy was maybe getting less attention cause Elena ws needing more after her needles maybe? I know just this last week Mitchie has been wanting my attention whenever he sees i am busy with Molly, sometimes i just have to answer him when he calls my name and thats enough but other times he wants more of my time because he sees Molly getting it! So maybe it could be that too? Having two bubs can take its toll some days.
Beckstar sounds like you have had a very busy hol! I hope it is all slowing down for you.
Ouch on the mastitis too, glad you are recovering quickly from it. I had it with my third bub when she was 7mths and ended up in hos for a week it was that bad and just flared up over night from nothing! It really can hit soo quickly hey!
Hi to everyone else i hope you are all doing well.
Ok so Molly is an absolute gem of a baby! She feeds about 3hrly through the day but after her last feed at night which is anytime from 6:30pm to 9pm, she then sleeps until anywhwere from 6am to 7am. So i am getting a full nights sleep and this has been happening for just over two weeks now;) touch wood it keeps up.
She doesn't poo everyday eitehr sometimes 3dys sometimes more but she seems fine with it.
I took her to HCN yesterday for her 8wk checkup and she has slowed down in her weight gains but HCN is not concerned and neither am i. She is now 10lb 5oz or 4670gms, she was 3670gms at birth, so 1kg since birth, is that right? She has grown 6cm since birth and is now 57.5cm and h/c is up 3cm to 39cm. So all in all she is doing well.
Gonna have to go now as i am feeding Molly and Mitchie trying to help me type! Will try and get back later to finish my post
have a great day
Great to hear from you Kat. We understand you're one busy mummy. That's a great weight/length gain for Molly. And what a great little baby you have there at night. It makes a world of difference when you get decent sleep doesn't it. She has the same routine as Emily most nights. Except the last couple of nights, Em is waking at 4am for a feed. I hate that one.
Had Emily's needles today and she did really well. Hardly even cried. Had her weighed & measured, and she's 5.5kg, 60cm long & hc is 40cm. She was 3.65kg & 51cm when she was born. So she's growing very well indeed! I thought she was a little fatty, cause she's soooo heavy.
Emily was quite unsettled yesterday. I got no time whatsoever to do the housework, so dh came home and it looked like a bomb had hit it, and that was without Nina being around  So you can imgaine what my house looks like now, after Nina got into it last night and this morning! I've only just got home from the dr's, and I think Em has gone to sleep now, so I'd better go tackle some jobs.
laranna - how'd he go with the needles today? I can totally relate to them pulling off and giggling at the boob! Em has a conversation with mine, while she's supposed to be feeding
blanche - how is Jack going?
Kat - what great gains and how nice it must be to have molly sleeping through.
Jodi - Josh did pretty well with the needles...he screamed for about a minute which can feel like forever! Then I put him on the boob for 15 minutes and he dozed off. He's being a bit unsettled so I'm feeding and cuddling him lots....understand about no time to do anything. I told DP don't expect much today as Josh is likely to be a grumpy bum!
ETA: I nearly forgot to say that Josh had a big sleep last night from 11pm to 4am :)
ok so after reading Katstribe's post about Molly's great night time sleeps thought I;d try a different approach last night with her feeds.
Macey had last feed at 8:30pm then I put her (&me) to bed and thought I;d wait to see when she'd wake wanting her next one. I have previously been waking here again at 11pm for the last feed but didn't last night. First stir wasn't until 1:30am for her dummy and again at 5am then she woke at 6:30am hungry and ready to chew my exploding boobs off. so if this keeps going it'l mean I;ll be able to start getting to bed at a half reasonable time again which would be awesome.
Don;t mind if I have to do 1 feed in the night but couldn't handle doing 2 which is why I;ve never gone to bed before the last feed at 11pm.
Will try this again tonight and see if it was just a fluke or we are maybe onto something good here I hope:pray:
Also not sure if I said but Macey had her 8week needles on Tues and apart from letting out a decent squawk at the time, she recovered form them really well. All other results were good so not back to MHN for another 2months when DS will have is 18mo checkup at the same time.
Think that this 2 under 2 thing must be catching up with me as I;ve only just got over the weekend masititis bout, got my gallstone diagnosis on Wed and have now come down with a sinus cold to boot  Am starting to think that I must be damaged goods and am in need of a good trade in for a newer model.
Hope everyone is managing to keep warm. Its blo*dy cold here. we even had snow on Tues here and looks like we are no where near the end of it either. thank god we have central heating when I'm up int he night. bit scared of what our next gas bill might look like though as the heaters been on 24hrs straight for most of the last week.
Good luck for big sleeps all round tonight :-)

not sure what has happened to my ticker. BB must been having issues tonight as previous post is showing twice but with no tickers ??
just a quick one from me, we got home today Jack is doing much better, its so nice to be home and i can sleep in my bed instead of on a recliner!!
ill have to catch up on everything
blanche, that's fantastic news that Jack is home!
Blanche - that is brilliant news that Jack is home with you now!
Beckstar - good luck with the sleeping again tonight, I hope it works again. J's last feed is around 9:30 and he usually wakes around 2-3am for another one and then again around 5am.
Last night he fed at 9:30 and when he woke at 3am my right boob was engorged (he had fed off the left the last 2 feeds) and he emptied it in about 20 minutes which is a record. Usually I feed him both sides going around 25 min each side (I know takes forever!).
Got him some cute little clothes at the pumpkin patch sale yesterday and dressed him when we went to the shops this morning, so cute. I am having fun dressing him up in something other than wondersuits :)
welcome home blanche- glad to hear that things are on the mend again...
sorry beck, I did reply to your post the other day, but bb ate my post up :(
How is the sleep going at night. Is she sleeping longer with the new things you were trying out? And how are you feeling now, I hope you've managed to catch up on some sleep.
All well here with Emily. She's certainly a lot brighter, happier and awake more during the day. She almost rolled from her back to her front yesterday  She did it so she could see the tv better! Still sleeping well.
We're now having issues with Nina. Her 2yr molars are cutting through, so giving her a lot of grief.
Well I seemed to have lost my post doh!
How is everyone going?
Joshua is still gaining weight slowly but I am going to take him to the paediatrician just to make sure everything is ok. His length and HC is increasing as normal, it's just the weight.
He also worried me by suddenly going 2 days without a poo! But ended up doing one last night and a ripper of a one today! I am sure he was saving it up!
Jodi - well done Emily! J has started to roll on his side, especially the right.
How much tummy time does everyone give their bubs? I do it a few times during the day but J doesn't seem to like it much. He starts to grizzle and cry after a couple of minutes. He is perfectly fine when he lies on my chest though.
Hope everyone is keeping well and getting as much sleep as possible.
I'm must admit, I'm a little slack when it comes to tummy time. I tried really hard with Nina, but she hated it, so hardly ever got it. I do it with Nina, but only if I remember. I must try and do it more often. She does have strong neck muscles though.
BB must be eating everyones post as I also posted the other day. Oh well.
Amelie is not yet rolling much. I put her on her tummy twice a day she doesnt mind it but she doesnt make much effort to lift her head either but also when she is on my chest she does so we do that alot.
We had a bad weekend. Three men kicked down our door at 2am Sunday morning(we were in bed) and they stole our car keys and tried to take the cars. Dh chased them down the road they hadnt managed to get in our the cars and they had a car waiting down the road for them. Lucky as Dh was still half a sleep and three against one wouldnt have been good.
The police had just come from another house around the corner where the same thing had happened. Very scary we are now spending $4000 on security to make me feel better. The police also said people are targeting our area beacause it is a nicer suburb GREAT!!
Lets hope Dh doesnt have to go away for a while.
Freeezing cold here I am so over winter.
oh wow, thank goodness you guys weren't hurt and they didn't get the cars. Did the police get them, or were they too quick?
Wow Kristale, lucky you are all ok, that would have been scary!
I am so over winter too. I had to go mothers group the other day when it was bucketing down. I managed by hopping in the backseat of the car, putting on my ergo and then putting DS in it and so I was able to manage an umbrella over us. Good thing the ergo also has the hood to cover DS's head.
Going to the doc today to get DS checked out for his weight gains and to get the referral to the paed.
Has anyone noticed that their bubs are crying less? Today I am feeling like that J is not crying as much as he used to. He still does cry of course but it just doesn't seem as bad as in the first few weeks iykwim?
The police were in pursuit of them when they left our place and they said they know who they are. 5 guys all with warrants out for there arrests already so hopefully they got them.
Laranna- Amelie is opposite she cries more now? She takes ages to settle at 7pm and when she wakes at 4am she cries alot too but she never was like this before so it is hard to get used to. We think she wants to suck to sleep but she wont take a dummy we have tried different kinds might keep trying otherwise she will suck on her bottle then drink too much and throw up. Frustrating to go to this after such an easy time before.
ahh how scary Kristale, glad you are all alright. hope they caught them
WTG Emily on almost rolling!! they are growing to fast
Jack still rolls tummy to back, he doesnt like tummy time too much grizzles and then rolls over lol i was slack with tummy time with DD as she hated it so i try do it more with Jack.
Laranna - i have actually noticed Jack cries less, only really cries when hes hungry now
im hating this stupid weather too DD usually goes outside for an hour before lunch and bed gives me a break from her (sounds horrible i know!) but with it pouring down the last few days shes had to stand at the door and look out !!! shes out there atm looks like rain isnt too far away though..
better go get lunch ready
ETA OoOOoers i got my new av!!!
Hi everyone, hope you don't mind but i'm just popping in to say hello to my previous BellyBudies :hello:.
LuluHB sorry to hear you are having a rough time with Isabelle being so demanding, Jordan still has his moments and he's nearly 7. Hope it gets better soon
Jodi how are you going? I have to admit, Oliver doesn't get much tummy time as he hates it as much as Jordan did, but he has nice strong neck muscles too, very rarely needs any head support, only if he's tired it tends to sag a bit.
Katstribe WOW Molly is being a really good girl for her mummy, it certainly makes things seem a lot easier when we can get a decent sleep at night without interruptions.
Oliver is going well, although he is fussing with his bottles lately, he seems to be more interested in sitting up and looking around and playing than actually feeding, his first morning feed is shocking, he is currently 6.65kg and 62cm. We seem to have his reflux under control, and have been told we can start weening him off the Zantac in 3 weeks which would be great as it tastes revolting. He has also started refusing the dummy as he associates that with sleeping, especially during the day, and that is something he isn't very good at, although today, he has had 2 big sleeps, as I just let him grizzle (not cry) and he usually sends himself back to sleep after about 10-15 mins, so that good. The mods have also decided to split up the April group so that it is line with all the other baby buddies groups.
