Gee, Sassy, that's awful! Hope you and Jayda are ok... I don't know how you manage! Having littlies jumping around the place must be so full-on. Trying to keep your precious one safe must be quite the challenge! You'd need to have eyes everywhere!! Hope Jayda isn't hurt too bad. That must be so upsetting. I'm not looking forward to all the ouchies and accidents that will inevitably occur in the years to come...
Jess - WTG on the poop-splosions! had one of those here earlier today coz DS didn't go after breakfast like normal. Cant imagine how messy it would be after 2-3 days! EWWW!!! The Brauer stomach calm should help the digestive functioning a bit there, but I'm sure the anise/fennel content of the infants friend is beneficial for that too.
No tatts here, so I cant contribute. I just design them for other people sometimes...

Bec - didn't get my hair cut real short... I wanted to but DP likes it long. Blah. It would have been more pampering if I'd had that coffee and wine chaser the hairdresser was offering!! DS is still hanging onto it, probably more than before!! Also, it's started falling out lots. Apparently that happens after you have a baby... when you're pregnant your hair stops falling out so much, but now it's going back to normal and dropping out all the time. It's not like I'm going bald - I have heaps of hair - it's just messy and annoying sweeping long black hair off the floor constantly, and pulling it out of DS's hands, mouth, clothes... I have a high chair that was given to me by a friend 2nd hand. It's a Fisher Price easy-fold. 5 different heights and 3 recline positions. It's good, but I think I'll end up with one from Ikea later, as they're not so huge in my teeny-tiny house!
As for the BF, what Jess said!
Abb - hope you had a nice time with your DD. If you go for the day spa next time, can I come too??
I've stopped keeping track of Aadi's feeds since the last couple of weeks, but I know he's still waking up 2-3 times a night and I WANT IT TO STOP!! My friend, whose son was born May 24th, keeps telling me how her boy slept 10 hours, 12 hours, whatever... and I'm just smiling and nodding in my delirium, thinking, "B!#ch, how do you do it?" But then, she didn't just get sick and move house. Ah well.
Aadi had his needles this afternoon, and it went surprisingly well. Just a little cry, then laughing and playful like nothing ever happened. He was even smiling and laughing (and then blowing raspberries!) at strangers on the bus on the way home. He had a feed and went off to sleep, woke up happy again. Hopefully everything will be ok tonight.

    Have a good evening everyone!

Sass- Nt sure how i missed your post... Hope Jayda is ok... Your doing a fab job.... It must be difficult to have others kids and at your home with your own bubs also. You cant warp them up in cotton wool thou...You cant stop all boo boo's.... But saying that i know what its like when your kids get hurt... The 1st few times i cried with my DS... Still get worked up when he hurts himself now... I know i'll be 10 time worse with my baby girl.
Dp an i had a chat the other day about clothing for DD... i brought a little skirt and he was like "dont think she'll be wearing that crap when she's a bit older... " he's so protective already.

NaNa- i hear you about hair falling out... thou i have already thin hair and not much of it,..I'm not going bald (if it keeps up i might) i wake up and its all over the bed, its every where i look. usually she doesnt poop so much at 1 time. But this was a lot for her. and 2 poo's in 1 day. Glad the needles went well... so glad there past us for now... although i am getting DD's ears pierced soon. Also with the waking up, i have good nights where DD will sleep through and others where she still wakes up (much worse when your not used to it)

Well we had 1 wake up last night but DD was cranky and so tired all day yesterday ( i thin kfrom waking 5 times the night before. I think it put her whole day out of whack. Today i might walk to the shops and hopefully she'll sleep in the pram so she wont be cranky this arvo.

    hi ladies

well the christening went really well and the day was great. the food got eaten hardly any left overs and the cake was devine. Liam got some nice gifts too which is nice.
Liam rolled today for the 1st time tummy to back SO EXCITED. He certainly is alot ahead of Jordan.
As for feeds we are on 5 a day. Its normally about 2-3am, then 7, 11, 3 7pm.He has done a few 10 hrs but nothing that has cut out the 2-3am feed. I am hoping he will soon though. I am thinking of introducing solids in the morning as he is really staring at us when we are eating now so think it may be time. I am nervous about it though, means he is growing up

mis_tree I am sorry to hear that XP is being difficult I hope you can sort things out YEAH on getting the all clears on the hips, thats excellent news.

Je$$_84 I too am loosing my hair my the brush load its terrible lucky i have enough that its not noticable.

NaNa dont worry too much about the night waking, its still normal at this age. I was told by 6 months to try and discourage it as they shouldnt need it. So a bit longer to go

sassy123 I would be angry too I hope Jayda is ok. Poor darling. I am sure the boy didnt mean it but it doesnt make it any better

Bec7 i got a steelcraft highchair. It lays back which is good if they fall asleep in it or for early on when they are not too good with head control. It also has various heights so you can put them at chicken table height or close to floor if I have him in front of tele.

Sorry to those I have missed. take care everyone. chat later

deancey - congrats on the great christening! lol @ chicken table height!
I'm not worried about DS not sleeping, it's more that he seems to be ALLERGIC to sleep!! After his needles the other day he woke every three hours thru the night, then only had a couple of 20 minute naps during the day yesterday, and last night he was still up partying and playing at 11.30! He would play, then yawn and fall asleep in my arms, I'd put him in his cot and before I even made it to the door his eyes would snap open, he'd laugh and kick and want to play again! This happened 5 times between 6.30 and 11.30. He finally slept, then woke up every 2 hours!! Argh... I look like shiat today....
ok, this is it for me today... got tradies here fixing stuff, and wouldn't you know it, they're making WAY too much noise and DS is going to wake up any second. GRRRR!! It only took me an hour to get him to sleep again this morning... hmm. Sorry to vent, but I'm exhaustipated

    Hi everyone
Nana- you definetly sound exhausted, i hope you can get some rest soon. Tradies can be a pain in the butt, never on time and always arrive when you dont want them.
Deancey- Hamish also has just started rolling and from stomach to back, he moves all over the floor now by pushing his legs down and lifting up his butt, he is a real little squirmer now. They are growing up too fast. I havent introduced solids yet but starting to think he will be ready soon.
Mis tree - well ikwym with your exp my ex h was very similiar and i am suprised you have coped so well so far, i am pleased my dp is so totaly opposite to my ex. Great news on Seths hips though, it must be a relief for you.
Jess- i hope tianhna's crankiness has subsided, we had a rough day and night the day before yesterday, and hamish woke a few times during the night which he hasnt done for over a month now but thankfully he slept all night again last night. I think you added me on facebook well i hope it is you..lol
Sass - omg i hope jayda is ok, i would have flipped i know it was an accident but it would have been difficult to keep calm. I hope she is ok, i suppose it is inevitable they will get hurt but it would be nice to think they would be a little older.
Lmk - i hope thing are going ok, havent heard fro you for awhile.
Bec7 - how did you go with the highchair shopping?

Well i was going to spend the day washing beds etc (exciting i know) but the weather turned wet here, so dd and i are having a movie day , ds slept nearly 3 hours this morning so hopefully he will behave so we can watch a movie in peace. Although he will probably watch also, he loves the tv i try not to encourage it but when its on he just stares at it. I hope everyone has a good weekend.

well i am feeling really worse for wear at the moment, the cold has comeback with a vengance and I am feeling sorry for myself. Thats my excuse for the chicken table comment LOL
Jordan is getting better although between 12 and 2 we were up with him as he was running temp again. Then Liam was up for feeds so I took a sickie today as I was tired and sick. going to docs tomorrow to get certifacte for today and tomorrow also.
I am also going to ask about my stomach as I seperated the muscles whilst preg and they are still not rejoined, my stomach is in a funny shape now and really hard in a ball..... doesnt seem right so want to check it out.

ok well off to shower and then to bed i think

    Hi All,

Well were starting to get a bit better here. DP has 4 days off and has just noticed that DD has 2 arsenic hours... 1 in the morning and 1 around dinner time... Its so exhausting... i have started using this time to just put her in the cot for sleep time. I just leave her there and dont go in (unless she's really bad) she eventually falls asleep... She's now been asleep for about 45 min. (usually get a bout 1 1/2- 2 hours now) Night time its worse when your trying to make dinner... I sliced my finger open the other night while filleting the chicken,.. it was just too much to handle and i couldnt concentrate properly...

Deancey- Glad that the christening went well...Yay on liam rolling over... DP finally saw DD roll it must take alot out of her cos she'll go back to belly then belly to back a few times but then gets tired. i started DD on soids but not daily... she loves the baby custard. (it doesnt constipate her like the farex did) Now she's wanting it more often when were all eating. So now i do it while DS and i have breakfast. Hope you get better soon. must be tough when your working also.

Mis-tree- sorry to hear your still having trouble with your XP. But :cheerblue: about Seths hips.

Nana- must be something in the air with bubs being unsettled... we had few days of it and are only just getting back on track. Hope things get better soon...

Abb- yeah i noticed the pic so i added you... Sorry should have added a message. Hope you had a nice movie day...

Well i'm off to vege on the lounge... Brought a Wii and the wii fit and used it for 3-4 hours and i'm so sore i can hardly move... Its so much fun didnt realise i'd be so sore.

    Hi All,

Wow, once again there has been so many posts since I last posted.

Jess - Cameron also has moments like that, usually when he is overtired - sometimes I miss the tired signs (if I see the tired signs and can get him to bed in time he goes to sleep without fuss, but miss it and all hell breaks loose). Sometimes you just need to let them cry if you've done all you can do (as hard as it might be hey).

Deancey - Glad the christening went well. How did the solids go? Hope you feel better soon, hopefully those couple of days off work will help you recharge.

Abb - Hope you had a nice day watching the DVD with your daughter - was Hamish a good boy for you's? Sometimes it is nice just to vege out. Cameron also likes TV - think most bubs do - someone did tell me though it can make the babies hyperactive, not sure what to believe though, as Cameron seems fine (but he doesn't watch it for long)

Nana - Hope Aadi's sleeping better for you. Cameron has also started laughing and talking, eyes wide open when I put him to bed mainly at night. He'll be tiring in my arms, then as I wrap him in his cot he starts looking wide awake. Luckily Cameron only laughs until I walk out the room (maybe he is excited to go to bed). I hear you on the tradies making lots of noice while bubs is trying to sleep. We had a similar situation with a sales man at our door this arvo talking to my DH and I was trying to get Cameron to go to sleep in his room down the hall (was overtired, as had been a busy morning swimming), this man was so loud, I just wanted to yell out - keep your voice down, unfortunately Cameron did not get that sleep properly (only did 20mins, no where near the minimum 1hr he needs, grr), which meant we had that 'arsenic' hour later this arvo.

MisTree - Sorry to hear bout your XP - fine if he wants to be an idiot and hold a grudge, have it with you, not reduce the child payments and refuse to help the medical bills for his son! On a happier note - Yay!! on Seth's hips.

Sassy - Hope Jayda's better, it is soo much more frustrating when you could almost see that incident about to happen. So jealous of you and your xmas shopping, I haven't really even thought about it (except for Cameron) - I've got so many children to buy for this year, as there has been lots of new additions since last xmas to the family and friend circle. I had also decided to get a fold out lounge thing for Cameron for Xmas, and maybe something for the pool. I also want to get Cameron some sun glasses, but don't think I can wait til xmas.

Well that took longer then expected, I hope I covered everyone.

Cameron had a good swimming lesson today. Notired cries at all this time, think he is really starting to enjoy it. The swimming teacher seemed to favour Cameron a little today (although she is a friend of my cousins), using him to do examples with, which was good. Then after the sales man left we went to Babyco to look at the hi-chair they had ordered in for me - went there on Wednesday, but only had a pink one, i wanted a blue green one. It's an activa made by Jane. It has 3 sitting up levels, a removable tray for easy cleaning and comes apart to have a little table and chair. We put Cameron in it this arvo when we got home and he loved it. Was smiling and giggling and talking - think he felt like a big boy! I have decided to try in on the farax when he is 20 weeks, then will slowly introduce other foods about 2 weeks after that (probably potato and pumpkin and the savoury foods before doing the sweets like banana and other fruits) - I'm so looking forward to it. We got out his spoon while Cameron was in the high chair and pretended to feed him and he would open his mouth way before the spoon was near it - knew exactly what to do and then seemed disappointed when there was nothing on it. We then let him hold the spoon and he did manage to get the spoon to his mouth a couple of times, followed by another attempt, but kinda missed the mark and almost got his eye. It was so cute.

Well it is getting late now, wasn't tired before I started this, but am now.

    Bye for now

    hey!
I'm starting to catch up on some sleep, but it's been rough this week. A culmination of everything, I guess, with needles to top it all off... I'm not going to complain, though. Aadi's such a happy boy ALL the time, he doesn't ever really cry or fuss, and only usually squeals when he's tired. But it's at the point now where he should be sleeping longer between feeds at night (IMO!) so I think it's a good indicator that it's time to start him on solids. He's suddenly wanting to feed a lot more, and getting hyped up every time he sees us eating. Yesterday we stopped off to get something to eat on the way home from doing some shopping, and Aadi just went nuts, squealing so loud! It was a big restaurant with lots of open space and high ceilings - great acoustics! He was definitely doing it to get attention, and exercising his voice, but he was also just so excited to have so many people around and they were all eating. It's SO embarassing when the noise just echoes and bounces off the walls! I always said I'd raise my kids to be well-behaved in restaurants (I'm a chef by trade, and I've seen some shockers!) but I'm off to a bad start! And trying to eat noodles with chopsticks, with a squirming, wriggling, squealing, monstrous yet totally adorable kid on your lap is a challenge, to say the least. Being ambidextrous is handy...

Phone's ringing - so I'll be back later for personals...

NANA i wouldnt worry about happy squeels I think people love those its the screaming that people hate to hear.
Bec7 I havent started the solids yet, we brought them though. I am feeling a lot better today which is good, back to work tomorrow
Jess glad you enjoyed the WII fit i was thinking of getting one, a lot easier than heading out to gym

Well today i took mum shopping and Liam was so good in his pram. he was awake for just under 4 hrs, oops didnt realise we were out that long. He fell asleep in the car but didnt transfer into his bed very well so I fed him 1/2 hr earlier than normal and put him to bed. Hopefully he will now sleep a few good hours to make up for the cat nap he had.
Jamie and Jordan are on the way home from their weekend away, I cant wait to see them. 1 night without them is more than enough, I couldnt handle it if it were any longer.
Gotta get the washing in and then put away so take care everyone

urgh.. it's turned into a noisy afternoon! Ducked out for some groceries, Aadi was delightful and making kissy noises at me and charming everybody in sight, sat in the trolley with a loaded nappy and didn't complain one little bit. But got home and he turned on the squealing again. Not happy squealing either. He's not crying, there doesn't appear to be anything bothering him, but he doesn't seem to know whether to laugh or scream. But it's mostly screaming. The only thing that seems to keep him quiet is food, so he's had 3 big feeds in the last three hours, and finally dropped off to sleep (along with DP!). And now my head is pounding, so I can't sleep! Oh, and the neighbour is using an angle grinder, which might as well be inside my skull...
But this isn't the place for me to vent!
Deancey and Abb - the separated stomach muscles sounds ouchy. What exactly can you do about that? and Deancey - bugger about the cold. Everyone's got it, and it just doesn't want to go away... still coughing here. How's you DH going as a SAHD? I left Aadi with my DP for a couple of hours on Saturday to go have coffee with a friend and he texted me every 10 minutes... where's this? How do I do that? hopeless!!
Bec - wish we could do swimming lessons too! DS loves the bath, but it's not the same. Sounds like Cameron is ready to give solids a try, and give the new hi chair a spin! It's exciting, but incredible how fast they're growing up.
Jess - hope things settle down for you too. Careful with the sharp things... it's so easy to do some severe damage when you're not thinking straight, but how else do you get dinner ready? Hope you enjoy some time with your DH while he's got time off, and the kids behave
Mis_tree - wow, you've had a busy week! Hope things are getting sorted with XP, and that's fabulous news about Seth's hips! Bet you're having fun wrapping those flat nappies around that squirmy bubba-bum! The diet thing is hard, because I know I'm always so hungry coz of breastfeeding, and I just grab anything that's quick. It's hard to avoid junk food! Good luck, enjoy the me-time!
Is that everyone? Sass, I hope Jayda's ok now. Hopefully no more boo-boos any time soon!
ok, time to go chop stuff up - very carefully - and cook dinner! Hope you all had a nice weekend.

Hi All, just a quick one from me as i have a pounding headache... Weekends going well MIL took DS out for the dy and DP and i stayed home and played the WIi... Very sore but so much fin and i cant believe how much it works your muscles.

DD has been better... Gave her vege's vesterday (pureed) didnt like them at first but once it was gone she cried and wanted more... Only giving her 1/3 of a jar (will start making my own from now on... Only 1 feed a day for now. I top her up with milk and yesterday she had a 2 hour sleep after. Very impressed.

Brought her a Giraffe (DS calls it Gi Gi) She loves it... I love how much she's interacting with toys now...

She has developed Daddy eyes lately... Always staring at him and smiling and cooing...

Well best be off little miss is showing tired signs and needs to get to sleep again. Daylight savings have mucked her around today

    Hi ladies,

I know this is totally off the topic but I am stuck! I wanted to make egg saland sandwich, something Hubby can take to work. Do I use normal mayonnaise or egg mayonnaise?

haha, way off topic! mayonnaise is made from eggs, oil and vinegar or lemon juice (plus a few other things) so use whatever you want! It's all the same. HTH!

Really, whichever one you like! I make my own mayonnaise, with roasted garlic and dijon mustard, and champagne vinegar if it's really special!! but not like i have time for that anymore... I stopped being a chef ages ago. Any mayonnaise you have will be suitable for egg salad. gee, i'm hungry now! But how are you and baby going??
