Sass- Jayda is a few weeks in older then Tiahna... Also i have been told that FF bubs tend to be a bit bigger... I wouldnt worry... I'm sure Tiahna will catch up to her soon enough... I just see it as bubs is healthy and doing well... My SOn was bigger then her as he was FF as well...
sorry I have been MIA lately. All is goin well here. Liam had his 4 month check up and weighed 7.6 kilo so he is doing really well. He is still waking once a night, he has slept thru ONCE which was heaven. I am hoping he will start more regulary soon.
We have Liams christening tomorrow so it should be a great day. Not as crazy as last weekends birthday party I hope.
I am now an aunty, my brother and his wife had a baby girl last night via c section. her name is Sophie and I am hanging to get into hospital to see her. I am at work at the moment. I still have a an hr left of my shift.
Sorry will come back and do personals later, better get some work done
Hi Girls
I have been on reading posts but got so fed up with posting and losing them that i gave up in the end. Anyway i had a fiddle with my ticker (lol) sounds a bit wrong, but there are some great new emoticons on here now. Had a busy day watched the afl grandfinal with my sis and family, ate way too much and now feel a little yuck for it. I must go for a walk in the morning as i missed mine this morning. Ds has been a bit sooky the last few days, he seems to be getting very clingy towards me and dp has had trouble settling him so i have had to do it all. Dp has been a great help and i am just starting to realise how much he helps out with ds. I hope it is just a faze Hamish is going through. He is usually very good with most people. Ok i am off to bed to get an earlyish night, hopefully no wake ups....
mistree: i know how u feel witht he no sleeping. jayda hasnt slept at all today and now she is so sooky, we got her to sleep but she will only sleep on DH and wakes up as soon as she is put down.
i did hardly anythign over the weekend but i feel so run down.
Anyone know how to help saggy skin. with this diet i have lost heaps of weight but i have this bum looking flab thing on my belly lol.
HI all... Well after fridays needles little miss was a bit unsettled on Sat. We had friends in the late arvo over doing Tattoo;s and little miss screamed nearly the whole time. Then at the last minute DP and his mate decided we would all go camping THAT NIGHT... before i knew it they had paid the booking site fee and we were pacing our car and our friends were on their way home to do the same. So its 6pm and were driving to Huskisson (near Jervis bay). I had a punding headache from DD screaming and had the aweful thught we'd forgotten something. But She was GREAT in the car... WOke up when we stopped of for dinner so i fed her and stopped once more when friends did so we could both do nappy changes. We had a great night. DS loved sleeping in the tent and he got to see Kangaroo and possums (which were right next to our tent) DD was BRILLIANT. i think the all day screaming wore her out. She slept mostly in the car and then again ll night in the rocker in the tent. I couldnt have asked for a better baby girl.
The next day we went to Husky beach... Its beautiful there. Water so clear and sand so white... DS fell in the water and had a near drown experience but was ok. (lost his footing in the small (tiny) little waves rolling in. DD screamed when in put her feet in but admittedly the water was a bit cold. she ended up falling asleep in my arms while i walked in the water.
We stayed till lunch had a few public BF... 1 lady was stareing and making the "tisk"noise... to my surprise DP spoke up and said "whats your problem cant my wife feed our daughter without nosy, *****y people like you staring and making comments... Everyone turned around and looked and what was going on and i was a bit embarressed but thankful that he stood up for me... It wasnt like i had my BOOB out i was covered so i couldnt understand what the big deal was.
Deancey- YAY congrats... hope all is well with your niece and SIL... How exciting... Love hearing bout babies being born... (bit jealous to ... ;)) Hope the christening went well.
Abb your ticker looks GREAT... I saw it before i even read your post... (will have to take a look and fix up mine...
Sass- you can buy firming creams (like elastin cream) not sure how well they work. Its common to get that when you loose weight fast.... like child birth... are you moisturising your skin???? you could try doing that few times a day if you can or morning and night. Dont you just wish they had a cream that would disolve the fat and firm the skin all at once... I'd take a hundred tubs...
Morning Everyone
Jess - it seems you had an eventfull weekend, i am glad tiahna was good for you, its stressful going away with bubs especially camping. Did you happen to get a tattoo done? Dp and i have ours already drawn up just need to make an appointment now, we have a tattooist here but he isnt very reliable so we need to drive 2 hours which is fine as i know where i got mine done a few years ago is reliable and very clean. Dp has alot of tattoos but i only have one and i am only getting one more and thats it.
sass - i have a friend who lost alot of weight doing that celebrity slim and she also has alot of saggy skin, she is actually looking into surgery as exercise hasn't helped her tone up and she has tried creams etc. I will ask her what she has tried and let you know.
Not sure why my ticker says 3 months 4 weeks 2 days it should say 4 months???????
Mistree- thanks i think he is pretty cute myself but ofcourse i am bias. lol
I cant believe how much they have all grown. I hope Seth is sleeping better for you now, its frustrating especially when you have things to do. Seth is a gorgeous little boy also, how is eveything going now with his hips?
Deancey - i hope liams christening went well, hamish slept through most of his.lol but it was a great day all the same.
Nana - Hopefully whe you go see pead you will get some answers to Aadi's tummy aches.Hamish went through a chucky stage too and it has gone also, he has the odd spit up but nothing like he was having. Still have to keep a bib on him at all times for his dribbling, he gets saturated.
Bec7 - i hope all your bumps and bruises have healed. I am clumsy also, only a few weeks ago dp and i went shopping at kmart, we were just walking in near the entrance and we were chatting away when i tripped on the gutter and fell flat on my face on the concrete, it was almost slow motion as i tried to grap dp half way down, lucky he was pushing the pram and not me. Oops
Hi to everyone else i may have missed.
I have nothing new to say really, all just normal here, hamish has been waking a little early than normal around 5.30 but he has a feed then usually back until around 8am, so still pretty good. I am being hassled a bit by my mum to start him on solids but i think i will wait a few more weeks. I am looking after my nephew for a few hours this morning whilst my sis gets her hair done, it will be interesting to see how it goes, he is 11 months and nearly walking so im sure i will have my hands full.
Hi all!
We had a nice weekend here, the weather was gorgeous, and I finally managed to get my hair cut so Aadi doesn't keep swinging on it like Tarzan! Feeling refreshed, even tho there was no sleep to be had... as well as DS getting tummy pains on Sat nite, we also had a surprise visit from an old friend who arrived at 1am on a stopover on his way back from overseas. Was great to see him, and he got to meet Aadi, but he was only here for the morning! Too many trips to the airport...
I just got back from a little shopping mission, where I had to go to lots of different shops, and Aadi has suddenly developed the cheekiest thing - he turns on the biggest, happiest smiles and laughs at all the people making cutesy faces at him, then when they're smiling back, he lets loose with the biggest, rudest raspberries! He thinks it's hilarious, and I kind of do too! At least when he's spraying dribble everywhere people aren't going to want to touch him!! Am I a naughty mummy?
jess - wow, what a full-on weekend you had! I guess impromptu plans can work well, though! It must have been nice to get bubs to the beach, even if she didn't like the water yet. I can't wait to go camping with Aadi, but I procrastinate because I don't live in QLD anymore and it's just too darn cold here!
Sass - shame about the downside to losing so much weight so quickly... don't really know of anything to help that. Sorry!
deancey - nice to see you back. Hope Liam's christening went well!
abb - another cute pic on your ticker! lol at fiddling with it, yeah that does sound wrong! I spoke to my MIL in Africa, and she's already organised a cot, carseat and stroller for us when we go at Christmas time, and she's excessive with gift-giving, so chances are we wont need to take as much as I had anticipated! I'm sure I'll still take a truckload... I'm hoping Aadi's tummy settles by itself, before I have to go to the paed. Will keep trying the remedies available to me in the meantime, coz I cant stand doing nothing and just waiting. Aadi is chucking less and less, but yeah, still dribbly!
He's been waking earlier than usual too, so it will be interesting when daylight savings starts next week!
Mis_tree - hope you're over the cold, and Seth is sleeping in the daytime again!
Right, got to go cook a feast... having friends round tonight, and I'm not the domestic goddess I thought I was. So much to do, so little time!
Hi All,
NaNa - That's cute Aadi blowing raspberries at people. Cameron hasn't done raspberries yet, but he does smile and laugh when people look at him. Yay on the haircut, was probably nice to do a bit of pampering to yourself. Have you got it real short now. Cameron has also just discovered my hair - but usually have it tied back and twisted - as it is rather long (almost to my bottom), so he can't get much of a handful.
Abb - How was your nephew this morning? Was probably a good learning curve having him at yours, he can let you know what may need further childproofing! On the wake up thing, Cameron has also been stirring earlier too, usually about 5ish, but seems to go back to sleep til 7 (thank goodness cause I love my sleep - and I think he might too)
Jess - Good on your DH saying something to the sticky beak lady, I don't why some people can't mind there own business. Did you and your DH get tattoo's? My DH got Cameron tattooed on his arm 1 week after his birth. I will eventually get one on my back with his name, but just need to decide exactly what I want done (I know I want a frangipani too, so need to find a way of incorporating them both then being able to either add more children names in the future or maybe having a matching tattoo somewhere else - I don't know)
Sassy - Sorry no help on the saggy skin, but good on you for all that weight loss. Sorry to hear you had a tiring weekend. Doesn't help when bubs don't sleep, means you usually have to be with them and keep them entertained, which doesn't allow any rest time for yourself. Hope you can catch up on rest this week.
MisTree - Looks like you've found a little solution for when you want DS to sleep - go for a walk, least it will get you out of the house and get some fresh air. Thank goodness for mum's hey. Mine comes down to stay every Wednesday, it's good to have her help out.
Deancey - Hope your christening went well. Wow on the 7.6kg, Cameron seems rather small compared,, was 6.09kg at 4month check last Monday, but 62cm long - but he has been following the same percentile, so nothing to worry about. DH is tall and skinny(ish).
Running out of time, as I can here Cameron stirring (more just talking and laughing to himself) - he has been really chatty today, only did 1 little cry after last wake up - been a really happy little boy today, actually he's been rather happy for the last few days. Went swimming again Saturday, still enjoyed it, but was really tired towards end. He had woken earlier on Saturday (6 instead of 7) then only had 1 1/2hrs sleep (instead of 2hrs) before swimming. After we changed him, I cuddled him and he fell asleep in my arms, didn't even get to the car this time. He was a little grumbly in the arvo, but good after a little sleep. I went out while DH baby sat on Saturday night, though I was home by 8 (was a farewell for a girl at work, but a lot of people didn't turn up due to illnesses, after dinner they continued on into Surfers Paradise, but that wasn't my thing so came home to my family).
Question - I'm still breastfeeding, though I feel the supply is getting low, especially in the arvo. So - if I was going to give some top up with formula, how much would I make up for after his finished Bfeeding? Does it matter how much combined milk he has for the day (can he overdo it by having breastmilk then formula - IYKWIM)?
Also as it has turned very warm over the last few days, should I be giving some boiled water to keep him hyrdrated? I know I've been drinking about 3-4 litres of water a day as it is so hot (hate to think what summer will be like - thank goodness for air con, shopping centres and our pool!)
Well better go, Cameron wants to talk to me (he is so close to saying hello).
Bye for now
Morning all,
Re the tattoo's... I have the same tattoo as Sassy on my lower back... (mines all black) Its a a butterfly with some tribal stuff behind it (very simple) I recently had the kids names and DOB's added to it.... My DP brought a tattoo gun cos of unreliable tattoo artists... (he's still learning as am i as he wants me to finnish a few of his but i'm a bit scared... Using pork skin at the moment for practice. Friend of mine did one on his GF. I want a few more... Drawing up another butterfly that looks like a B (for Brad) for my wrist. i also want one for the back of my neck and that will probably be it.
The trip went well i was happy with how well DD went. Cant wait to get back down there again... the beach was beautiful. planning another trip later on in the year. It was so good BF no bottles to make up or pack. It was bliss just being able to pop the booby out and quickly feed and get on with it. only 1 incident with the woman but not too bad seen as thou i didnt see any other babies or women feeding.
Abb- hope things with your nephew went well.
Nana- DS has been doing the raspberry thing since she was 10 weeks... It is kinda cute but feels rude when she does it to strangers... (at least she's smiling and laughing when she does it) Make so much more drool thou... DD has also developed a squeel... ARRGGGHHH its so high pitch.
Bec- About the BF.... I get the low supply feeling in the avro (always have) The ABA lady told me that its normal to feel low in the arvo... (this helps bubs suck more and get sleep for the night time. If your worried you can always take some maxalon to boost your supply in the arvo... If your wanting to sub feed you can but it can effect your supply even more... dont want to worry you just thought you should know... You've done well to BF this long. Formula is different to breast milk... its 1 consistency. BM comes in 2 parts... thinner watery milk for thirst and thicker cremier milk for hunger. So its hard to say how much to give... Maybe start with a small amount and see how much he drinks. Some bubs will engorge them selves and drink and drink then vomit. so its hard to say. Maybe speak to an ABA adviser or you could ask on the BF support pages here.
Also with the boiled water... no need while your BF... as like i said you made the thinner watery milk for thirst. It wont hurt him i dont see an issue offering it (keep in mind he may drink less milk again decreasing supply. Hope that helped a bit... Its hard to express things on here without sounding like your "telling" someone what to do... hope you work out something that works for you 2.
best be off... need to clean up before we go out to pick up the tyres for the car... Going to start walking in the late arvo i think... Need to shift some weight before summer hits...
i have been told that because i am young my skins elasticity will be heaps good and hopefully over time go back.
i have got off wat i want on my tummy i would be happy to stop now but my legs r still chunky and i still cant fit into some of my old 16 stuff.
Jess: did i read right u went camping. crazy women lol. i wouldnt attempt to even go with a say 5 yo lol. my kinda camping is in a hotel lol.
You should take a pic of ur add on tattoo to ur butterfly. i wanna add somethign to mine to make it bigger it is quiet small but i dont know wat.
I wanna get a tinker belle and write jayda belle under it but trev thinks it is cheesy.
Nana: jayda has just started the squeel too. she has been doing it all morning while watching the kids.
ill be back later kids need morning tea.
Morning girls..
Just a quick one, need to take dd somewhere today (school holidays) she spent last week at friends place so need to spend some time with her. Not sure what we are doing, probably shopping as 12 year olds love shopping. Yesterday went well with Charlie, he was such a good boy, he is on the go all the time so i was a little tired afterwards. I think Hamish loved it too, he kept staring at him and laughing it was gorgeous. H e is so huge compared to ds but he is 7 months older and was 12'13 born so he had a great start. Dp has been puttin hamish in jj and he loves it, cries when we take him out, my sis also gave me this play centre thing, similiar to a walker but doesnt move kinda bounces (if that makes sense), it is roung and has different toys all around it, he loves it too, just reaches bottom. Ds woke at 5.30 this morning then slept until 9, so thats not too bad, will be interesting to see how daylight savings affects sleeping pattern next week. Hope everyone has a nice day...
abb: jayda loves her jj too and gets very cranky when we take her out. she can be really sook and nothing will settle her u put her in the jj and she is yelling and laughing like crazy.
sooooooooooooo not looking forward to daylight saving.
Hi All,
Jess - I love butterflies to. I got a purple butterfly on my ankle - something I had planned to get since I was 10. On the feeding, Cameron only has 5 feeds a day, and refuses any other times I've tried to feed him (he is very stubborn, only feeds when he wants to) - I was just thinking that maybe 5 ain't enough to be hyrdrated enough, especially for really hot days. Also on the maxalon - do you need a script for it?
Sassy - I think that sounds cute with TinkerBell and name tattoo. Is your tattoo a butterfly too - is that what you want to add onto it? My mum got a small butterfly (was not sure of her pain threshold to begin with), but later decided to add on - she had a crescent moon and pretty flower type design added to it, so that the butterfly is flying to land on the flower. The tattooist had also suggested a tinkerbell with fairydust - so maybe go talk to a tattooist who can make suggestions.
Abb - I know you needed something to do with your daughter yesterday, so this is probably too late, but I heard and ad on the radio the other day suggesting going to a day spa to spend some quality time with your daugthers during the school holidays. I've done this with my mum a few times and we had an nice relaxing time together, might try to do it again sometime soon, just need to find someone to look after Cameron though.
Well nothing new happening here. Going to go look at highchairs today I think. Hadn't bought one yet, but getting close to needing it now. I know the one I would like, think it's at BabyCo. Couple of friends have them, they convert into a little table, but I believe there are a little more expensive. What has everyone else got?
Better go, Mum has just arrived. Have a nice day.
Bye for now
bec7: the tattoo i want to add to is a butterfly with lines and stuff around it (same as jess's) because of the lines i think it would be hard to get other pics to go in with it. I was the same as ur mum i got it small cause i didnt think i could handle anythign bigger.
there is so much i want but i dont knwo. i wanna get jaydas name done down the top of my foot. but then i want to add it to my butter fly but then i want the tinkerbell with ehr name lol. i cant do all of them cause if when we have another bub ill have to get heaps with its name lol.
jayda has 6 bottles that from 130am to 830 at night. her 130am and 8am r usually only 100 mls. the rest will range between 125 and 175 but mostly 125. so i feel like she isnt gettin much either.
OMG i am so tired and i cant wait till the twins go to skoll next yr. this is my day at the mo.
1am bottle
430am bottle
530am awake but lay in till 615 for cuddles
630 breaky, dress jayda, take everything downstairs we need for the day.
7am start work.
445pm finish work, bottle for jayda, clean bottles and pack bag for next day, cook tea, pack lunches
630pm DH gets home we eat tea straight away.
7pm showers for everyone, clean up a bit
8pm last bottle and we r all in bed by 830
once the tiwns leave none of the other kids start till 830 and 9 so i will be cheering. it p!sses me off cause the mother hasnt NEEDED care from 7am for the last 6months but she just doesnt want them at home bothering her. i have asked so many times for them to start at atleast 8 but she complains and b!tches. i hate running my own business sometimes.
ok now that i have got that out lol.
HOw is eveyrone going with thier chrissy shopping. i got all mine except about 3. i still gotta get jayda a few things and mum something. I had a jj and some size 0 clothes for jayda but had to unwrap them and she is using them now lol.
wat is everyone gettin bubs.
so far jayda has some size 1 clothes and little bike thing and i am thinkin of gettin her one of those little fold out lounge things.
Morning
Hamish feeds at the moment are 5.30, 8.30,11.30,2.30,5.30 and 8pm.
Sass you must get so exhausted working all day with jayda, i bet you feel like your a robot sometimes. I am the same with the tattoo thing. I have one just above my ankle but i am getting an "M" (dd initial) on top of my foot and Hamish written below my other tattoo on my ankle. I wanted the one on my foot done first and they talked me out of it as apparently it hurts alot on your foot and said for my first one i should have it somewhere else. Dp is getting Hamish written on his forearm, he already has about 10 tattoos.
Bec - i never thought of the day spa thing, will keep it in mind next time. We went shopping and out for lunch, i have booked her in for a haircut today as they couldnt fit her in yesterday, she wants some new style cut, she has only ever had trims but she is now at the age where it takes her an hour in the mirror before school to get ready. lol Our highchair is a steelcraft it is a hi lo chair with 5 different heights and 3 different layback positions, i put hamish in it whilst cooking dinner and when we are eating, he loves sitting up at the table with us.
**** i am sooooooooooooo angry .
i was on the floor playing with jayda and one of the little girls whiel the boys were running around. one of the boys kept coming near us jumping and being really naughty so i told him like 5 times to move away a little bit cause he might hurt jayda. as soon as i say that he falls over on me so i got up and went to move him away and he jumped away from me accidently kicked jayda in the head and his toe nail took a huge chunk out of her head and was bleeding heaps. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO angry. more angry with myself even though i was tryint o best i could to keep her safe.
Days like these make me hate that i went back so soon.
Bec- From whati have been told from ABA the aount and frequency doesnt really matter as much as the wet nappies. Some babies need more smaller feeds and others need bigger less frequent feeds. If your worried you can give the ABA a call just to ease your mind. But from what i have been told water isnt necessary. He may decided to drink more if he needs it as the wether warms up. As for the maxalon you need a script. Just speak with your gp about continuing to BF and say you've heard maxalon can help boost supply. (there is also another 1 but not sure what its called) My Hi chair is adjustable. It slides down and is a low chair also (like Abb's. never seen the ones your discibing.
Abb- the foot apparently is one of the worst places to get them . I expected worse with my lower back tat. It wasnt as bad as i thought it'd be. You may surprise yourself. If you can have a baby you can get a tattoo...
Sass- I'll add a pic of my Tatt but i need it touched up... It scabbed a bit so the names have faded. There under the tribal part at the side this was if i have a 3rd i can add it under the butterfly itself. i'll take a pic and post it for you.
Well we had a bad night little miss woke up 5 times... We usually have a 6.30 feed, 9, 11, 1, 3.30-4 6-6.30 8-8.30 then bed. So were now at 7-8 feeds depending if she wakes up at night or not.
Found out why she has been screaming for the last 2-3 days... She has done 2 massive poop-splosions today... I'm not giving her solids (been forgetting) So not sure whats going on... i think i may need to give her the infants friend a little more often to help out with the bowel as well as the wind.
Hope everyone else is well...
