oh no abb that is terrable. i hope everythign is ok now. i am glad he got through it ok. **big hugs**
Abb- my goodness, are you ok? That's so scary! Big hugs to you and Hamish. I hope you can get some rest and recover from such a fright.
Thanks Sass and Nana
he seems ok now, a little exhausted, has been asleep for few hours now, but they said to expect that. I am suprised he hasn't woke up with me in there every 5 minutes checking him, i just cant seem to relax yet, haven't slept i am still restless. Feel kinda lost atm.
OMG Abb thats aweful... I hope its a one off and glad Hamish is alright... I was told by the natropath that that could happen and best thing to do was blow in there mouth as the vomit can make there vocal cords stick together and they cant cryout. Must have been the scariest thing ever... Luckily you were there to help. Big hugs darl, i'd be a mess if it happened to one of my kids. Will you have to elevate the cot or get him to sleep on his side or something to prevent it in the future??? Sorry lots of questions and i'm sure there going through your head also... Hope all is ok and everyone there gets some rest. Again big hugs..
No need for me to post as i am just lost for words now... (yay a first)
Jess thanks, that was the first thing i did, was blow in is mouth but im not sure it helped, to be honest most of it is just a blur atm, but the ambo's said we did all the right things, keeping him upright etc and patting his back. The weird thing is he was upright when it happened not lying. We really dont know how it all happened and i have been going over and over it in my head all day trying to think if there was anyway we could have prevented it but i honestly can say i dont think there was anything we could have done. I was holding him when it happened walking to the couch to feed him, he wasnt on the floor, he hadnt just been fed, i just changed his nappy was about to feed him before putting him to bed.
Abb - Sorry about your scary experience with Hamish. I just read your post in the BooHoo room, I was in tears reading it. It's just something that could so easily happen with us too, as Cameron seems to always get hiccups and a few times has thrown up at the same time, done a little choak, but not to that extreem. Now I'm a little panicky myself. I hope Hamish is feeling better and I hope you's all got a better night sleep.
Will try to pop back in later for personals, feel a little lost for words too.
Morning
Well all good here today. We had a great night really, Hamish fed at 9 and slept soundly until 8am this morning, he seems to be getting back to normal although a little more tired than usual but i am sure he is still exhausted from the previous night. He fed ok yesterday, not as long as normal and only had 4 feeds and no solids as with everything i just forgot to give them to him. I did get some rest, slept beside him but only got up twice to check. I sit here typing and watching him happily playing in his play centre thing and makes me realise how quickly things can happen and how grateful i am to have such a wonderful liitle boy and family and how quickly that could have changed and been taken away. I have got all soppy now but it has bought me back a little to appreciate how special he is and how lucky we really are. (tears again)... Anyway enough with the depressing stuff, he is talking away chewing and chomping on his toys happily as if it never happened, i am trying to get things back to normal as i am sure i could dwell for a long time but that would not be good for anyone.
Ok i have a question, I know i aske it awhile ago but wondering if anyone is still wrapping there bubs before bed?
I tried a few days ago to not wrap Hamish and he slept ok during the day but was not game to try at night. Just feel a little cruel wrapping him now he is bigger..
Abb - I'm so glad everything's ok now! What a reality check for us all... So good that Hamish is alright and seems to be back to normal. You might take a little longer to do the same, but that's ok! Take it easy. As to your question, no I dont wrap DS, but I am putting him in a sleeping bag as much as possible because he kicks all the covers off and he's always rolling over in bed now (and cant roll back yet). We got a bit of a fright the other night because he rolled over and was stuck on his tummy, turned 180 degrees and had his head under the covers. He also chucks a bit still, and I was paranoid about him choking before this happened to Hamish, so I'm *****-scared now! I would wrap him if he wasn't such a wriggler. Dont feel cruel, it's normal and if it helps him sleep soundly then it's great.
Mis_tree - YAY on Seth rolling! You asked, and it happened!
Well, we're doing ok here, and even managed 7.5 hours sleep last night!! Considering DS is getting his second tooth and is grizzly, I'm really pleased with that. OK, he did want to feed at 3.30am, and got wind and tummy pains so couldn't resettle for a while, but I'm still so happy that we're finally getting closer to a decent night's sleep!
Hope everyone's having a great day.
Abb- glad things are a bit better. and glad you and hamish got some sleep. About the wraping... I do occasionally... i use a cot sheet as DD is a bit big for the other blankets. sometimes she sleeps well all wrapped up but others she wriggles that much it gets all tangled. She has started rolling over in bed also last night i went in and she was sleeping on her tummy. I'm a tummy sleeper so is DP and DS so i guess she likes it better.
Miss- YAy on stank rolling too...
NaNa- glad your getting some sleep... 7.5 hours is great... Were back to waking 1-3 times again here.
Best be off. need to do some washing
Hi ladies
Abb oh my goodness i can't believe it, its so scary i am glad he is doing ok now.
Miss yeah on rolling abbie is rolling heaps, BUT she can only roll from her back to her tummy then gets stuck and frustrated so i have to roll her back, then she rolls straight back :wall: hopefully she figures it out soon.
Also i do not wrap abbie up and i have not done it for a long time, just one day she hated it and would not stay asleep unless she was not wrapped.
Well sorry it always takes me so long to come back in. Last week i was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which means my thyroid is not producing the correct amount of hormones which my body needs, it makes me soooooooo tired and with the correct medication i will live a normal happy life. It can take a while to get the medication right, which is really hard because it makes me so tired and ready for bed at lunch time, and no matter how much i sleep i still feel tired. It is really hard but i know that soon enough i will be better and be able to do more.
Anyway, Abbie is now fully on formula and sleeping great at night only waking once if that. She is not really interested in solids now so i just give her a little at lunch time and she seems to be content with that. She is growing up so quickly and has such a personality, she blows bubbles and lachlan comes running saying "mum mum abbie spit" its so cute.
Well i hope everyone else is well and once again i hope to be back soon.
Nikki
Nikki i hope you are feeling better soon, my cousin also has Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and it took her awhile to get the meds sorted but she was diagnosed about 2 years ago now and she is fine now, i hope things improve for you quickly.
Mis you should see a significant improvement in stanky after 48 hours of being on anti biotics if not i would definetly be taking him back asap, l hope he gets better soon.
I think hamish's next words will be "mummy loves you" as i have repeated it a million times in last few days..lol
Hi All,
Made it back, will do this quickly, DH on his way home a little earlier tonight. Usually I reread my posts before I submit, but might not have time for that, so I hope it makes sence and I don't accidently offend (sometimes I get my wording mixed up).
Abb - Glad you are both feeling better. Cameron scared me this afternoon when after his big feed and some farex he too started to hiccup. Cameron usually gets a little chucky after a feed, I was extra aware of each hiccup. He was really tired too, so decided to give him a bath until the hiccups went, as there was no way I was putting him to bed while he was hiccupping.
MisTree - Yay on the roll over - see just when you least expected it. And if it will help put your mind at ease, maybe make an appointment to see dr earlier - I probably would.
Nikki- Sorry to hear about your diagnosis, but good thing it is managable, even if it will take a little to get it right. Have you got close family members that can help the family out until your feeling more active. How's DH at cooking - good time to probably start BBQ's if you haven't already.
NaNa- Yay on the 7.5hrs sleep. I can't remember if you've mentioned it, but have you tried just to resettle without that feed? At least with that time of waking, you can still have a little more sleep after (as long as Aadi lets you of course) - as it would still be kinda dark at that time.
Sassy - Yay - your on holidays now arn't you? Did you give Jayda carrots this morning? How'd it go?
Jess - I remember when I read your post about DP in child care I got the giggles for about 5 minutes (sorry not laughing at you, but at the thought of a place like that). Sorry Tiahna's doing the wake up thing again - hopefully it won't be for long (Cameron's gone back to sleeping through, the wake ups only lasted about 2 weeks)
Well gotta be quick now, DH just got home. Cameron has been good. Farex seems to be going well, he still pooping ok, so might try some vegies at the end of next week, thinking will do potato first.
On the wrapping question - one of the girls in my mothers group said the clinic nurse told her that babies shouldn't really be wrapped after 4months. But in saying that we still wrap Cameron though, but in the muslin wraps as they are more breathable, we always find him unravelled anyway. I've taken his top sheet off now, as he always kicks it off too and as we also had found Cameron with his head underneath it. During Cameron's afternoon sleep (until the wake up feed) I've begun wrapping him with both arms out, so might try this on the weekend for the big sleep. For all I know he probably unwraps himself as soon as he is in bed sometimes (as sometimes he talks and sings when we've put him in - so I'm sure his also danced his way out)
Well better go spend some time with DH before we get Cameron up.
Bye for now
Hi All (again),
I just remembered I was going to ask a question to:-
Some of you's had mentioned a test that can be taken for alcohol levels for breastfeeders - where did you get them from and what are they called? I asked the chemist today about something for this testing, they had no idea, but asked me to let them know when I found out.
My work Xmas party this year has been organised, it will include unlimited alcohol, and as it will cost about $100, thought I may as well get my money's worth on the alcohol (as don't expect the food and entertainment to be too good, as it is one of those functions for lots of different companies xmas parties). DH won't be going, so I can let my hair down and party with the girls. It's not til 12th December, but thought I'd try to get organised - as I will still be possibly bfeeding (wow - a couple of weeks ago I thought I was drying up {and almost giving up}, but now seem to be full again, and even though I don't totally enjoy it - I've kinda adapted to it).
Bye for now,
Hey Bec - you can get the milk test strips online, they're called Milkscreen. Google it, and you can find a supplier near you or an online supplier. You might be better trying a maternity-wear shop (I know that seems odd!). Party time!! woohoo!
With the hiccups, DS has always got them and has been hiccupping since conception! I kid you not - Jess might remember that was the first thing I asked about when I joined the belly-buddies thread last year! I think it was deancey who suggested giving bubs a quick feed (just a few seconds) and it usually works to get rid of them straight away. I know that seems hard to do after they've just had a big feed, but it works, and they're going to chuck anyway. I know my DS does most of the time!
Nikki - too bad about the diagnosis... I hope you can get some support while you get the meds sorted, and until you get your energy levels back to normal. And hope to see you back in here again soon! In the meantime, try and take it easy
DS is only waking up once during the night now, and we're still trying to re-settle him without feeding. However after an hour of DP getting him back to sleep only for him to wake up again a minute later, a quick feed is the easiest thing that works. No tummy pains last night and he slept until 7, so that was 5 hours sleep, then another 5.5 hours. So it's definitely improving, and it's making daytime naps easier too. Yesterday a friend was round with her little boy, and one minute they were playing happily, then DS started rubbing his eyes a little. I picked him up and he just fell asleep instantly in my arms! No grizzling. Stayed asleep for 2 hours. I asked my friend what she did to him, because he NEVER does that for me (only for DP)!! Slipped him something when I was out of the room? lol
I think over time we'll be able to drop the night time feed completely, but it's still an improvement already so I'm happy. Hope it lasts!
Jess - how are things going with you? You're suspiciously quiet...
Sass- Hope you're enjoying your week off!
Mis - how's Stanky?? Any improvement? Poor little guy, hope he's better real soon.
Well, DS is STILL napping, so I better get some washing done...
NaNa- still here... DP's been on night shift so he's been home during the day and always complains about me being on here and he's a bit harder on DS so i'm on my toes so i can avoid him being in too much trouble...
Plus little Miss is needing extra attention, rolling round and :leap: almost crawling... she can lift her top half up (like a push up) and can hop up on her knees but not 2 things at once... stll gets round the floor quite well so i'm constantly making sure DS hasnt left anything dangerous near her. I have been thinking of getting one of those playpen things. I have a porta cot i was thinking bout using but not very big. Ds wont leave her alone... Its cute sometimes but he gets a bit full on and rough.
I thought DD said Mum yesterday but hasnt repeated it... either that ir it was Yum... ( i was feeding her some apple custard. (it helps her poop) She doesnt like the bege's that i pureed but will eat the brought ones in the jar??? maybe mine has TOO much flavour??
Also DD gets hiccups all the time and like NaNa has done since in the womb.. hehe if they get too bad i give a quick feed i used to try to make her laugh to distract her but she laughs and chucks... have also had it come out her nose but thankfully hasnt choked.
Wish i could say the same bout the sleep.. DD has been waking up several times. Last night it was 3... i try to resettle her but nothing works except a feed... I rockerd her back to sleep for 30 mins put her down only for her to scream as soon as she hit the mattress... I'm so exhausted. i would just like 1 night every now and then of a SOLID 8 hours. if its not DD its DS or DP coming home from work... put that together with the dogs barking, the roaring traffic and it all too much. Today DS is at daycare, he has a halloween party there. He was so cute didnt want a scary costume so we found a Bob teh builder one and when we got there he didnt want to wear it anymore... $30 for a costume he'll never wear. Lots of cleaning to do but will quickly do more personals...
Nikki- sorry to hear, hope the meds kick in soon... Hugs... DD used to only roll one way and then have a tanty cos she couldnt roll... I just started leaving her longer and finally she got so angry she did it and now cant stop. Glad abbie is going well on the formula- My DS tells me everything... "mum your baby spewed" or "MUM!!! Tia did fluffy".. he thinks its so funny when she fluffs... (boys)
Mis- that sinking feeling never goes away... the lder they get the more often you get it... just wait til your boys out and about drining his car... :pulling out hair: that thought makes me feel sick... and what about all of us with girls... Arrrggghhh i thin ki need to invest in a chastity belt.. :o ... you could try laying stank on your legs belly down and doing physio on his back (like patting his chest from the back) it will loosen up any mousus in there and help clear the infection... also try steam (or vapouriser) will help out heaps.
Bec- PMSL- still couldnt find where i wrote DP... HAHA... sometimes i feel like he should be in daycare... Glad the farex is going well and no sign of constipation...
Well best be off, no DS means i have to utilise the day and CLEAN CLEAN... By BB for today.... (yeah right i know i'll be back when i have the next feed... HEHE)
Hi All,
NaNa - thanks for that, I found the Milkscreen website. Doesn't look like anywhere stock it so will have to try order online. I don't like buying from the net for some reason, but think I will have to on this occassion, it'll be worth it I'm sure.
Jess - maybe you can ebay the bob the builder costume, or is there a family member with a little boy you could give them it for xmas? With the jar food, maybe it's got something in it that makes it tastier. Can you put a little breast milk with the vegies to sweeten it a little I wonder? Also my DH makes comments about me being on here all day too, that's why sometimes I don't post for a week, but have been good with housework the last few days so figure I can treat myself with some computer time while I relax with a cool drink.
Cameron also used to get hiccups all the time when in my belly, a few times a day, and it was almost a guarantee when I got into bed. I loved it, very cute. He even had hiccups when the scans were done, so we could see him bouncing all over the place (but made it hard for the sonographer to do her job). He then hiccupped alot for the first 3 months, but now only probably once a week, but usually for the whole day after each feed. Cameron is not a comfort feeder though, once he'd had his feed, he will cry or fuss if I try to offer more later. But the bath seemed to help (well it bought us time anyway).
Last night I wrapped Cameron with 1 arm out, he slept just fine. DH always says goodbye to him when he leaves for work, this morning it was 4am and he was still sound asleep, once again flipped onto his belly. I woke at 7.20am, went in to check on him - he was starting to stir, but was happy (not startled as he seems to be when he sometimes wakes on his belly). I might try it with both arms out tonight then.
When he woke we fed, then played til about 9am, then he slept til 12, fed played, slept for 2.75hrs til 4, fed played and now once again he is back in bed. He seems very tired today, but it has been rather hot and humid here today, even I feel very lethargic. I love summer for being able to swim, but hate feeling hot and bothered and tired. Might have to start swimming in our pool between every chore I do to cool off.
Well might go watch the little spooks walking our street. They always arrange a trick or treat for the children in our area, you can chose to participate by putting a balloon on the letter box. We put a balloon up the first year, but we had some cheeky little so and so's make rude comments to us, so we haven't done it since, but I do like to watch the littlies in their outfits. We may participate again when Cameron's a little older, we will see.
Bye for now,
bec: yup im on hols now and it is so good to relax. started jayda on the carrots and she has been fine. i think it might be the jar stuff or prob was just to early b4. i just gave her some of this custard stuff. it is a organic one and it is made up like farex so we will see how she goes on that. i am only gonna give it to her every now and then i want her having vegies mostly
r u able to just express a bit and freeze it for when u wanna drink? might be easier then the tests.
we had a few kids trick or treating last night too. it was so funny nana came upstairs and was like "there r some kids out there tripple treating, dont give them any money if they come back" the hide of them to ask for money grrrrr. oh and funny that she thoguht it was tripple treating lol.
DH got a tattoo yesterday for jayda ill have to take a pic and put it in gallery. i was sittin there the whole time asking when i coudl get mine done lol. i think i will go next week while he is at work and suprise him when he gets home.
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...48&ppuser=7684
Jess: jayda is the same she can get her arms and head up high or her knees and bum up but cant work out how to do it together. i put her in her fold out loung this morning walked into the kitchen then heard a scream. i rang back in she was on the floor about 2 meets away. so i dont knwo how she fell off and landed where she did.
i guess all the chrissy parties will be starting soon. i dont think we will be having one this yr cause or company is in the middle of gettin taken over by new people.
Dh doesnt knwo wat is happening with theirs if it is a fishing charter for the guys (staff only) or a tea thing for everyone one (family as well). Dh is the only one that has family lol. most of the others dont even have girl friends.
there were so many posts since i was on last so sorry to anyone i have forgotten. i had a few extra days with DH this week thats y i havnt been on. For somereason he got 2 short weeks in a row.
well i am off hopefully ill be back during the week.
we r takin jayda to see some fireworks tongiht hopefully she doesnt freak too much. she loves watching my bro on his motorbike and loves us scaring her so hopefully it wont bee too loud. sounds so mena us scaring her lol.
Mis- don't be too jealous. The sleep thing didn't happen last night... *sigh* I'm sure in the next month or so Stanky will get the idea that he doesn't need that night-time feed, and a cuddle will be enough. I hope DS does the same, but I'm still convinced he's allergic to sleep.
DS went to bed at 8.30 like usual, but woke at midnight for a feed. I resisted for a bit, as we'd given him some sweet potato earlier and a big feed afterwards, but the screaming was getting a bit intense so I caved. Then he woke again at 3 and DP spent an hour trying to resettle him with no success until I fed him again. Then this morning he was up at 7. Normally he'd have a feed and play for an hour and a half at the most, but he wouldn't go to sleep. I had booked for a massage so DP took DS for a walk and thought he'd maybe snooze in the pram but he just screamed lots and he didn't even close his eyes till 12 when I put him in the car seat. And then it was only for half an hour! I did manage to get him back to sleep at 1 for a couple of hours (I slept with him... so wiped out!) and now he's napping again. The reason for all this madness?? Second tooth is coming.... ARGH!
I thought maybe it was the sweet potato at first, but he absolutely loved it. He ate quite a bit, but there was no tummy upsets, so I think it's just the tooth coming through that's causing all the problems. Hoping it will pop up quickly. It's horrible.
Bec - glad you found the milkscreen strips. I wouldn't be too worried about buying them online, but you could always try expressing and freezing a bit extra for when you need it and just "pump and dump" when you've had a drink (or several!). Not sure what's easier!!
Sass - nice ink! Hope you're enjoying your time off with your DH.
Oops DS is awake... gotta go. BBL
Sass- Nice Tatt... I got mine when DD was few weeks old... (didnt know it was a no no while BF (i spoke with the GP and he said it just isnt advised but it should be ok) Glad Jayda is doing well on the solids. DD is having solids most days about 1/2 a jar... still wont take the stuff i make... i have tried adding EBM and still wont touch it.
Mis- no help with the co-sleeping... scares me to death thinking bout it... I'm a very heavey sleeper (unles sone of the kids makes a noise)
NaNa- Hope things get back on track... Were not having good sleep anymore... i guess you can say :nahnah: i have tried solids after a BF and then bed an hour later, i have tried solids in the morning, afternoon etc.
Looks like i may have to take my earrings that i got done with DD... they seem to be infected even though i have been cleaning them regularly and doing everything they told me to. They are so damn sore. DD's are fine but i think its from the gold plated earings they use. Have changed them (a bit early) Just hoping they get better soon or i'll give in and take them out.
DD has been waking up few times still, solids going well and OMG she is getting so great with moving round now. she's trying so hard to lift her knees and and push her top half at the same time... Few weeks/months and i'll be going mad trying to keep her still. She's been so happy at times lately, cooing and squeeling... SO cute... When i feed her now she smacks her lips and makes "mmmmm sounds" its great... DS was never like this.
Best be off, time for Dinner
Hi Girls
Just a quick one for me tonight and i will be back later or tomorrow for personals.
Hamish is going well again after our scare the other night, he is feeding as normal again and still sleeping well, we have appointment Monday at paed just to double check he is ok, more for me i think but i need to be reassured.
I had him weighed last week he is 7440 (16'6), length 64cm head 42cm, so growing at a steady rate. He can sit now for a few minutes un assisted and rolld everywhere like crazy, which is sometimes annoying as i can no longer lay him on the floor and leave the room. He is constantly active and has started to grunt and moan if he gets frustrated (at first i thought he was constipated) lol.
He is starting to get grumpy with his toys so i best be off and bath him. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
mis: yeah she is fine after the fall. i dont think it hurt her just scared her. it was only off her little kids foam fold out lounge thing.
jess: maybe she is used to the consistancy of the tin food. cause it is kinda jelly like.
well we r goign great witht he food. i am gonna try her on jar today see hwo she goes. it might just of been that she wasnt ready when i tried her b4. AND no constipation this time. Far from it they r smelling sooooooooooo bad.
we got jayda a fairy show bag last ngiht form the show so i did some pics this morning i am in the middle of uploading some so ill do a link soon.
https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...hp?photo=10371
Mis Tree - we have a roll thing in the cot for Hamish, you can get them from almost everywhere, but i will warn you some babies still roll over them, i still wrap Hamish so he hasnt started rolling in bed yet, but i know he will start driving me crazy also when i start unwrapping because he is so active also. Its funny isnt it, we wish them to do all these things and when they do we get frustrated and wish they wouldn't.lol
With the poops OMG they are gross now, kinda sticky gooey stinky stuck to his butt yuck (tmi)....
hey, just a quick one coz DS is squirming on my lap! His second tooth is coming thru and he's NOT happy about it! Bit me so hard it drew blood this morning - lucky it was just my finger and not the BB! OWEE!!
Mis, I reckon that might be part of the reason for the no-sleep thing for you, and rolling is a pretty big milestone too, so maybe that's got Stanks so agitated. DS's gum is swollen up next to his first tooth, but even tho he didn't get a white bubble it sounds right too.
DS is pooping like crazy and screaming about it. Acid bum... thank goodness for flushable nappy liners!! I'd hate to be scraping that mess off disposables, let alone our cushy cloth nappies! EWWW!!
The sleeping bag seems to be helping prevent DS from rolling in his cot, but last night he was in with us again even tho he only woke up once. It took an hour or so to put him down last night as it was nearly impossible to get him to stop screaming in pain. Eventually he was just too exhausted. Panadol didn't seem to do anything. Not even get his temp down. Maybe nurofen will work better? Dunno. It's so tiring, poor thing just needs lots of cuddles but he's still happy the rest of the time so I'm glad of that.
Jess - too bad about the sleeping... guess it's just your turn maybe? Sorry! Have you thought about putting in silver earrings? The higher silver content the better. It might not be your style, but it's really good for healing infections (you can even get silver ionised bandaids, they work great!). Just a suggestion, coz I know I can't wear those gold-plated piercing studs. Gets icky!
Sassy - great that Jayda's doing well with the food! too bad about the smell tho... yuk! How can something so pink smell so brown?? She looks adorable with the wings!
Abb - if you find where my tiny bubby went, can you tell me? This bag of jumping beans I have here cant be my son! I'm far too lazy to have created this hyper-child!! Glad you and Hamish have settled into normality again!
right, bum rumbles are happening AGAIN! pooooo I am so tired of this!
mis: I got a anti roll thing cause i had to constantly get up to roll jayda back over cause she would wake up screamign if she was on ehr belly but she woudl get out of it. she just learnt that being on her belly was ok. a few weeks and she was right
Well we had kinda bad night... I put DD to bed and within an hour she was awake SCREAMING... and i mean SCREAMING... It was the most shocking scream i have ever heard... I went in and she stopped so DP said leave her a bit cos she's just doing itfor attention as she'd stop when she saw or heard me. So i left her (as heart breaking as it was) but after 10 mins of this horrid scream (like screaming till she's have no breath left) against DP's advice i went in and she was clawing at her mouth... so then i had a cry as i realised she had sore gums... I put some stuff on her gums and felt the big bubble and gave her some panadol as her ears and cheeks were so red. i tried to give her some boob but she kept screaming i just kep trying til eventually she finally gave in and started sucking... So after an hour and a half she had finally stopped fussing and was calm... she fed and i put her back into bed. She's rolling heaps and it wakes her up so i was up 4 times after that. I have the anti roll but she just either rolls over it of moves her self up and then rolls.
Back to being a tad constipated, also acid bum rash so all in all things could be better. Milk supply is lacking again so i need to boost it up with some activite, maxalon and extra water... One more month til we hit our 6 month goal but hopefully we can keep it going til 12 months
Abb- Yay on teh weight gain and steady growth. ikwym about the roling everywhere. DD ends up almost over the other side of the rool in seconds... yesterday she was almost under the lounge..
Sass- that pic is so cute. i had DD dressed like a ballerina for halloween but  forgot to take pics... (i brought her a cute little tutu onsie... so cute) Wish DD had hair like Jayda... she's a baldy just like my DS was.
I hear u on the smelly #2's yuk...
Mis-Sorry your having a bad time... were having similar issues but dd will sleep for a bit on her tummy then when she wants to roll back and cant she screams. when a tooth comes up the gum is raised and hard then it gets a whiteish colour (where the tooth is just under)
NaNa- Ouch.. DD has taken a bite of the BB (luckily with gums but still bloody hurts) my 1st piercings were the surgical steel ones. i changed the gold plated(GP) ones to 9k solid gold sleepers but still very sore and still all icky... havent got any silver ones. was hoping they'd heal with the gold ones in but looks like there not getting much better... i knew i get reactions to GP but thought i should wait the 6 weeks. changed them a week ago to the sleepers might go up and get some silver ones and give them ago thanks.
Well best be off having issues with DS... GrRRR... where did i go wrong with him... :wall:
morning all.
we had a good night last night.
solids is going great. i tried jar food this mornign so we will see how she goes. i might pop back on later for personals when i dont have some one tryin to eat the keyboard lol.
Morning
Bec - i bought the milkscreen strips but havent used them yet, i bought them online, was going to use them for when i had my night out but only ended up having a few drinks in the end so i didn't bother testing. They will come in handy over the next few months though as we have a lot of chrissy functions and a few other party's to attend. We worked out we only have one weekend (this weekend coming) that we dont have something on until christmas, how scary, time has gone so quick. How is Cameron sleeping now with not wrapping him?
Sass- glad jayda is going well with the solids this time around. IKWYM about trying to eat the keyboard, Hamish is obsessed with the laptop, although i often put clips (you tube) on for him to look at. Dh tatt looks great, we are getting ours done this month, Dp is getting Hamish's foot print with his name underneath on his chest and i am getting mine on my foot.
NaNa- another tooth gee Aadi will have a full set in time. lol Ouch on the biting, Hamish has started biting me also but luckily only gums so far. IKWYM about being hyper, Im not sure what i did to conceive such a hyper active chubby baby, he is on the go all the time and gets frustrated, grunts and groans when he is on the floor now trying to crawl and move about. They have grown up so fast, kinda makes me want a new born again oops dont let dh see i wrote that, he has been asking questions lately..
Jess - I hope you are getting some sleep. My milk supply is also lacking and ds is getting very frustrated when feeding lately, although i am unsure what to do. I am suppose to return to work full time in 3 weeks and have no stored supply left and dont seem to be getting enough when expressing now so may have to put him on formula.
Mis tree - Yes we are off to paed this afternoon, its really just to put my mind at ease as he has been checked by doctor but i was asked if i wanted an appoinment so i thought it wouldnt hurt to get him checked thoroughly. I hope Seth is sleeping a bit better for you, maybe try him in a sleeping bag as NaNa said it might prevent him rolling a bit.
We had a few wake ups last night, not sure what was wrong but i just popped the dummy in and he went straight back to sleep, he actually never opened his eyes was just crying out, thought maybe he was dreaming or something, not sure but was happy the dummy worked. Dd was away for the weekend and the house was so calm and peaceful without her, and i dont mean that in a nasty way just that she is starting to go through the b*$%^y stage, hormones i know. Anyway when she arrived home last night Hamish just latched on to her like crazy and kept laughing and smiling at her, it was gorgeous. He obviously missed her. I have so much washing and housework to do today but just feel like sitting on my butt being lazy.Oh poor me..lol
Hi to everyone i missed...
Morning all...
Well had a bit of a better night last night. By 5 little miss was SO tired as she didnt have a good day sleep. I held her out til 6 gave her a nice BIG bath she kicked and splashed (she's finally loving the bath again) got her out gave her a nice rub down with the cetaphil moituriser decided to put her in the sleeping bag (its a winter one so just had a singlet under it) I fed her and she was fast asleep by 715pm. I went in to check her at 945 when i went to bed, woke her up accidentially, but luckily she settle back down with a pat and slept til 3.20am then fed and slept til 8 so i'm, happy with that.
Just hope we can continue this routine i feel so exhausted. DS is being VERY trying and i feel like i have little patience left.
Mis- I used my Anti-roll thing last night and DD just moved up and curlled up at the top of the cot. hence me waking her up when i moved her back down. I'm used to the screaming, she's always been a screamer and i guess being the second bubs its doesnt faze me s much as it would have with DS. But it does make my heart sink a bit the scream is like there in absolute pain and i get flustered when i try EVERYTHING to console her and nothing is working. With the ears... there getting a tiny bit better i'm using pure dettol it stinks like hell but i guess it'll take time for it to kill all of the infection (i think my body is just run down a bit and is taking a while to fight it.)
Sass- glad the solids are going well... DD is starting to have a sooky period around the same time every mid morning (the time i give her solid) its like she's sooking to say "Feed me" I tried her on apple oatmeal yesterday (1/2 tin she ate) she loved it would have had more but i stopped...... Hows Trev's back??? Hope things are getting better.
Getting very nervous, have to plan a trip into work to ask for more time off. :biting nails: i'm supposed to go back 1st week in dec but DD still wont take a bottle or go to anyone. i've left it as long as i can but i think i just have to bite the bullet and go in. Maybe friday when DS is at school.
Abb- sorry took me so long to post i missed yours.... Like i said i am supposed to go back to work soon also but DD wont take a bottle (try everyfeed) i am taking maxalon and drinking the activite and it seems to be helping... Wish the dummy would work here DD still refuses it... I remember that *****y stage with my sisters... good luck with that and the pead appointment...
Best be off have to phone work and organised a time to pop in.
hey everyone!
We had a pretty good night last night, with only one wake-up at 3, a quick feed and back to sleep until 6. Have had to haul DS all over the city in the car today, and he's been super happy, so that's great. Only problem is that he's still pooping like crazy. Diarrhea, 4 times today already... urgh. The other tooth is almost breaking through the gum, should be thru any day now. He's liking cold carrot sticks and apple wedges to chew on, but he would have quite happily eaten my falafel at lunch time today! He kept grabbing at it, so I think I'm going to give BLS (baby-led solids) a go for now. At least I know that when he's done playing with it, some of it might get eaten, and he'll get a taste for whatever we're eating. But no salt, of course. Easier than pureeing stuff.
I really feel bad for you girls who have to go back to work... I just couldn't do it! Well, I don't have a job to go back to, but I dread the thought of having to leave DS in care now, let alone any time in the near future. I just hope that things continue to go ok with DP's job and he's still ok to support us.
Sassy - great that the food's going so well for Jayda this time around!
Jess - I hope things get better with your DS. Must be SO tricky! cheeky kids and sleep deprivation, no fun for anyone. Hope the ear piercings are settling down. Dettol's gross! Ti Tree oil doesn't smell much better but works well... maybe mixed with lavender oil? Good luck with going in to work!
Abb - hope the paed check-up goes well, and Hamish is 100% ok! Put your mind at ease, anyway. Aadi loves to press the buttons on my laptop too, and would love a mobile phone to eat as well... anything bright and shiny, he loves it (wonder where he gets that from?? lol)
Good luck for getting thru the "dark ages" with your DD! It was such a horrible time for us all, wasn't it? Not that remembering it will help, as all kids think they're the only ones going thru it, right?
well, there's a kid laughing in his cot so I better go see what's so funny! Have a nice afternoon!
NaNa seems aadi is sleeping better for you, great to hear. I hope he keeps improving for you, 1 wake up is manageable. Comeon other tooth.
Ok well go the all clear at paed, but now hamish has a cold grrr, its only just beginning runny nose, sneezing and a little cough so far, fingers crossed its just the snuffles and doesn't develop into anything. Other than this we dont really have alot to report, dd hasn't been too bad but i am keeping an eye on her behaviour atm, trying to get her to open up. Anyway thats another issue.
Quiet in here today, where is everyone.
Coooooooo eeeeeeeeeeee
There is an echo i here... lol
Sorry in a silly mood.
Abb - you know I'm never that far away! I was over at the flat-nappy thread... must stop obsessing about nappies! It's great that Hamish got the all-clear, but bummer about the cold! If it's not one thing, it's another. I thought Aadi was getting a cold, but turned out it was just teething. Or maybe I'm just blaming everything on teething? Whatever, it works for me!
We had another good night, with only one wake-up. But it seems that when DS wakes up, he feeds and goes back to sleep without a problem, but only ever sleeps for 3 to 3.5 hours afterwards. So we're getting up at 6, and I'm not very playful at that hour... Then he goes back to sleep an hour or so later and today he slept for 3 hours. Meanwhile I'm wrecked and cant go back to sleep!! I'm hoping he'll soon learn to sleep in. Slowly slowly...
Hope everyone's having a good day!
Hey Mummas,
Abb- Cooooo eeeee i'll reply your echo... hehe... glad you got the all clear... i bet it still in the back of your head tho.... bugger bout the cold... get that vapouriser out.... and Good luck on getting DD to open up... i remember my little sis at that age... GRRRR.... Must be so frustrating for you.
NaNa- Yup dettol is grose but it has helped heaps... hopefully anothr week and it'll be all good. YAY on finally getting some sleep... were having the 1-2 wake ups but its better then 4. As for work i'm off on friday to ask for more time. i just cant leave DD at daycare when she refuses bottle, dummy and other people. so if they accept then good if not Poop to them... DP doesnt want me to go back at all and honestly i'm not ready... my princess and monkey (as much as he *****s me) are my life and if i didnt have to send DS i wouldnt... He needs it thou... I've also been thinking bout the BLS... have been going a mid morning-lunch solid feed last week or so and DD is LOVING IT that apple oatmeal works wonders for her bowel. i know i said i wasnt going to do fruits just yet but DP got the 1st one and she LOVES it... I alternate i use 1/2 jar one day then other 1/2 next dat then change to vege's... DD loves apple and carrots. She's always trying to grab stuff from me... I had a salad sandwich today and she grabbed it and lent over and started trying to eat it... SOOO funny seeing a baby with half a sandwhich in her hand...
DD's growing too fast i needed to buy new clothes today... i've been holding out cos summers approaching but i have NO pants for her and its gone cold again. i had to buy her more singlets.. I have 0's but they seemed very small... i brought 1's and there HUGE... i'm thinking maybe the 0's were mislabled. but at least the singlets will do for a while now. i brought her the osh cosh nighty sleeping bag things.. couldnt find any other sleeping bags at Big w and Kmart will try target or pumpkin patch when i get my a$$ to westfields. I've increased the water intake back on the maxalon and activite and milk supply has been boosted... Now when DD is in bed and i'm atill awake (like while DP is on night shift) i have been expressing like a last feed to try to boost it up more... during the day is impossible without compromising the next feed. DD is gatting so cranky on the floor now... She's trying so hard to move round and get to things but still cant work out the crawling... she tryies and tries and gets so cranky i end up needing to pick her up...
Today she has been so... well.... floppy... all huggy and laying over the shoulder when i pick her up instead of fighting to look round... Its weird... even DP noticed... hope she's not comming down sick. its VERY inusual.
NaNa- just thought i'd add... Good luck on getting bubs to sleep in... My DS if almost 4 and has NEVER Slept in always up at at least 7am. most of the time its 5.30 6am
Hope everyone else is well
Just wanted to post that DD is now asleep sucking on her dummy... Yes thats right i've been giving her a dummy to play with and she's been putting it in her mouth when i put her into bed she still had it so i just poped it in and walked out and when i went back in she was asleep sucking on it still... WOO HOOO... maybe now i'll be able to use it for night wake ups... fingers crossed
Woohoo Jess thats great news, hopefully it makes a difference for you. I know how much Hamish likes his.
NaNa i am thinking the same as you with the cold, maybe it is teething, he is a bit cranky atm too and gross acid poos yuck. I rubbed my finger on his gums earlier and his mouth was on fire poor little man. He has had lots of sleeps today so its not upsetting him too much, will see how he goes tonight.
Jess - glad you got the dummy to work for your DD! It's very much the same here with the trying-to-crawl business. Aadi is confidently rolling onto his tummy from left and right, but gets so frustrated when he can't move forward. He turns around on the spot, and bounces himself up and down like he's breakdancing (which looks hysterical!) but after a few minutes he's just cranky and I have to turn him over and usually pick him up. I'm in no real hurry for him to crawl, because then I wont get a moment's rest!
Good luck with work, I hope you dont have to go back until you're ready.
IKWYM about the clothes... some brands are teeny-tiny, others are huge. I still have some 000 stuff that fits, but other stuff is 00 or 0 and is too small. Worse than ladies clothes!
Abb - if Hamish is teething (and it sounds like it) I hope it goes smoothly and both bottom teeth come up at once. It's dragging on here and it's not fun.
Mis - hope things get better with the sleep for you too. It's just a phase, surely.
I don't really expect DS to ever sleep in, but longer than 3 hours after the night-time feed would be great. Up at 5 this morning, blaaahhhh.... I did go back to sleep around 7 but then the neighbours started mowing their lawn and they HAD to start right outside my bedroom of course. Last night DS fell asleep at 6, which was really unusual, then woke at 7 for a feed and fell straight back to sleep. Not good when he had a wet nappy, but he was crashed out... then I went and checked him at 8.30 and he was sleeping soundly but flat on his face! Scared me half to death! I tried to gently turn him over and he screamed and screamed. Tried to calm him down enough to change his nappy and clothes, but then he wouldn't resettle for 2 hours and it was a real fight. I dont know if I did the right thing by turning him over but I just couldn't leave him sleeping like that.
Anyway, we're a bit out of whack today, so I just hope this tooth pops up TODAY PLEASE and we can get back into some sort of routine. Having DP home for a 4-day weekend was great but he does mess things up a bit! And after three days he's exhausted and needing naps! Poor dear...
BBL!
Hi ladies.
Well DS has been running a fever all day and a bit of last night. no other symptoms just burning up. he said he doesnt feel sick just very tired. His gums are inflamed and his eyes have big dark circles around them... Even though he had a good night sleep... i was thinking maybe low iron???? HE just doesnt seem to have any energy today... its kinda nice but worrying at the same time
DD has been very whingy today. But thankfull has had 2 sleeps and the dummy is working for few minutes...
DD is in 000's for few things but mainly 00's... 0 are still big but the bonds singlets sem like they are 00's especially compared to the size 1's i just brought... I brought her a beautiful Yellow dress yesterday in 00 but its massive. also a little leggings and top set also 00 and also too big. its like i cant win.... they have so many nice summer stuff i cant wait to buy and dress her in but am waiting til i NEED to buy them.. i have so many outfits that were only worn once or twice...
DD is also rolling like crazy... she can get over in milli seconds now and back. although she seems to have forgotten how to last 2 days. we were up 3 times last night and once to DS who wet the bed again... i went in to check him as i had this gut feeling something was wrong. went in grbbed the blankets and they were soaked... he didnt even wake up... when i woke him to get him changes i felt how hot he was.
well best be off... Sorry no personals having few issues (will be posting a thread for some advice i think)
NaNa i think it is definetly teething, no cold just runny nose, and mouth is on fire atm, he is still sleeping ok though (*touch wood). Have been rubbing his gums with sm33 when it gets really bad.
Jess seems you are having a rough time of it atm. familys can be difficult at times. I hope your Ds is feeling better, poor little man, how is he today?
Hamish is the same with rolling he is driving me crazy, he is trying so hard crawl, he can sit for alot longer too now. His latest is the chin ups (dp calls them) trying to sit up from laying, he gets so frustrated at the fact he cant get going where he wants although in saying that he can rotate and move his body every which way now all over the floor it is somewhat annoying though and getting difficult to keep him still to dress him.
Mis T thanks i love changing my ticker if you havent already noticed.lol Love your christmas one, might do a festive one next..
Not much else to report here today, was having a day out at the races but had to cancel due to babysitter but not to worry will save it up for another day. Hope everyone is well.
Hello everyone,
I had to come here. I am so upset. Why? Because I recently started giving Yasmeenia water. I don't remember asking my Health Nurse when Yasmeenia was born wether I should be giving her water. Maybe I did. Maybe I didn't. I am 75% sure I had. Anyways I noticed my baby girl's voice sounded rather thirsty although she has lots of feeds especially during the night; probably 4 feeds. At first I thought she was growing up so therefore her voice is changing. What naive thinking. I am so mad at myself. I wondered why she wanted to feed during the night so much. I feel so guilty for not listening to myself in the beginning. I should have followed my motherly instincts and ignoring everything and anything else.
Mis-Tree,
Thank you for remembering me. I just saw my name :D. I am doing good. Exams this month, so I don't spend much time on the internet. Thank goodness I've completed all my assignments and surprised myself with most of my assignment marks. I feel rather guilty for studying. So I will defer one of my exams so I can spend my time with Yasmeenia. Plus I feel like I don't have to study much with my exam coming up because I love the subject and information learnt tends to stick. Enough about exams! How are you? By the way, I was borrowsing through the forum and saw your thread on your ex partner. I hadn't realised you were a single parent. I must admit he is mean. I can't believe he took the baby stuff. Hope all is well and easier. ;)
