Sass there is a thread on Duromine started only last week i think.
I have a friend who lost 30kg on it but she was like a maniac, hyper, full of energy but really intense mood swings.
It really just is legalised Speed, if taken correctly and only for a short period it is ok, but was taken of the market a few years ago as it is very addictive and has a few side affects.
Alot of doctors will not subscribe it for that reason. I wanted it and tried 3 doctors here with no luck.
I think it is good for a kick start to supress your apetite but would not be a long term thing obviously.
Nikki i hope it all works for you, i have doctors appointment this week and will ask again to precribe it to me, I just want it for 2 months to give me a boost as i am way to lazy and easy going to get off my butt and do it alone.
I have had a chat to Dp and he was great as i expected, we are going to try conceive but not yet, i really need to lose atleast 20kg so hopefully in 6 months if i am still well enough we will try then. I am not ready yet and my body is in no way healthy enough to concieve atm. I am going to continue working the few hours for my parents but am not going back to my job at all. We worked out if i work and Hamish is in Day Care we would only be better off about $30 to $50 a week. I am happy to stay home and do my few shifts and get some adult interaction that way, while Dp is at home with kids. Hopefully i can get my health back on track and all will be good in a few months.. fingerd crossed anyway..

Abb- i need to drop weight also before TTC... not that DP is at all ready... thyink he is having some kind of midlife crisis... wanting bikes and boats etc... GRRRRR....
most GP will only prescribe duromine for 3 months max... then ur supposed to wait 6 months before going again cos it is addictive... I have been on it twice before. great for that energy boost to get u in the excercise mode...
Well the toddler milk isnt going well... :( not thick enough and she is waking up 4 times a night... its the only thing i can think off...

sass i could but think might just go back to the previous step... just for a while.. i'll use the toddler milk during the day then other rmilk morning and night she's been having 5 bottles again... up from 2-3

mis: glad stanks is gettin better. i tried jayda on cows milk last week i wanted to slowly put little bits in at a time to ge ther used to it but she started waking up of a night so i stopped. i will try again in 2 weeks i think. i want her off b4 we go away so i dont have to worry about takin formula with us. i am nearly at teh end of this tin and i have 2 more so i will try to just get through these 2

Geez I've been a little slack lately...sorry. And there has been soooo many posts since I last posted.
Cam seemed to really enjoy child care. I dropped him there Thursday, I stayed for about 15minutes, but after realising he didn't seem to care that I was there, I went over to try to get a kiss and cuddle goodbye and all he wanted to do was play with the toy :rolleyes: It was kinda like 'Oh Mum, can't you see I'm busy here":lol:. I rang about 11am, and all was going well, he was still asleep - went down fine. He didn't have a good arvo sleep apparently though, as he'd been asleep for 20mins when a little girl who was put down cried loudly and that was it, guess it happens...oh well- he was still happy.
Both DH and I picked him up and it was so cute. When we walked into the main doors we could here him - kind of a whinging noise. When we looked through the window to his room, there was 4 of toddlers (they combine the nursery and toddlers at that part of the day) and 1 other baby, and they were all walking and playing, and Cam was still in the mix - crawling around - keeping up. One of the toddlers had taken the toy Cam was playing with, so the whinging was more of a 'hey, I was playing with that'. As soon as we opened the door all the kids looked at us, so did Cam, but he continued to try to play. He then showed us the toy he'd apparently been playing with most of the day, a pink rattle thing. Guess I've probably deprived him of pink at home that he probably finds the colour fasinating elsewhere, :lol: He was then rather hypo when we got home - making up for lost time with his own toys, haha.
Friday was fine - once again no dramas. So that is a relief. I feel ok with leaving him there now. I was very good and only tears welled in my eyes a couple of times, but I didn't actually cry. I was very lost when I got home, though I've had a cold - with a major sore throat for the last week, so it helped I could try to catch up on sleep and rest.
Unfortunately Cameron caught my cold Friday night - he woke every 2hrs from when he was put down at 7.30pm - but thankfully only needed me to resettle every 2nd wake up (the others he only cried til I got to his door - then it stopped all of a sudden and he was back to sleep). He seems to be a little better regarding the cold, though still coughing. But I think those next teeth must be close :pray: cause he has been a little grumpy today and his cheeks are really rosy.
Umm, not much else. We are still doing FF in morning and lunch, then EBM for bed (cause he is still refusing), but my supply has dropped off alot over the last few days, so I'm thinking my expressing days are almost over (this morning only got 60mls).
Well I think thats about it for me for now.
Abb - Sorry to hear about your results...it makes it difficult being forced into making a decision (my cousin is in a similar situation at the moment). With the sleep issues...I quite often have trouble switching my brain off too...sometimes I find counting backwards helps, usually from 200 - I think it just distracts me and helps me relax a litte, though sometimes I get to 1 and need to start again.
Girl - Wow on the head shaving...I could never do that if I had a girl (I've got really long hair myself - almost to my bottom and the thought of shaving my head almost brings me to tears...lol), but I could see Cam having his head shaved one day (DH has a shaved head at the moment).
Jess - Glad your decision to not return to work was made easier...I'd love to have been offered a redundancy at my work...but that's unlikely as they would probably have to pay me too much cause I been there too long :rolleyes:. Your not entitled to any redundancy money are you??? It would sure help get your business up and running hey.
Sassy - Glad to hear your friend has decided to keep her baby and that her parents were ok with it (isn't that the way...people usually worry over nothing like that) and it was very nice and helpful of you to give her your books. And yay for you's that Nana spoilt Jayda. I'm sure you've probably mentioned it, but why you going to Tasmania?

NaNa - How did you find the FDC lady...do you think she'll be able to handle your little man. Wow less then 6 weeks til you travel, how exciting.
MisTree - Good to see you in here again (though I've been keeping up with you on your other threads and fb). Hope Stanks feels better soon...he hasn't had the best of luck health wise.
Nikki - Glad to hear you's are well too - are you also on facebook? Goodluck with the weightloss.

I totally forgot. The other reason why I shaved her hair off is because she tends to sweat from her head while I breastfeed her. Mostly due to the very warm weather here in Perth. In 2 - 3 months she will have her curls back.
:happyforyou: Three more assignments to go! And exams in June! Time is going fast. Yasmeenia is going to be 11 months. I can't believe it. She is so big now. She wants to get up and walk but is so far standing on furniture, DH or me. I can't wait to have time with her after my exams. Without worrying about anything else. We can use that time to go to the zoo, beach and story times at the library on Wednesday's and Thursday's. She loves it when I read to her. She wants to turn the pages, sometimes doesn't let me finish and turns the page, indicating to read that page.

DH wasn't too happy about it. He reminds me about it almost everyday. But she still looks adorable, I think, Lol. Am not too worried, her hair grows back fast. Luckily, I took pictures of her in a dress before I shaved her hair off. Don't you love picking him up from daycare? I look forward to that all day when she goes there. I love seeing her reaction when she sees me. Making noises of excitement. Trying to crawl towards me. Lol. I also love seeing her with other children. She wants to touch them, tries reaching out to them, and totally absorbed in their world. It's so cute.

bec: just goign for a holiday. Dh hasnt taken holidays since he has been at his job and he wanted to go to tas.
well i tried milk in jaydas formula again last ngiht and she woke up so many times sooking. the thing i dont get is that she has more milk in her weetbix of a morning then i put in her bottle so i dont see y it effects her. i put prob 30mls of milk in her bottle and she would have 100mls or more on her breaky.
any ideas?
thinkin i might try some soy milk next time.

i find that the boys play with girly stuff her too cause it is somethign dif then wat they have at home. so glad he liked daycare it makes it so much easier on u.

Abbie looks like she has about 4 teeth coming at once i wish they would hurry up.
Sassy maybe its because she went straight to bed with it. Not too sure about that one sorry. I am not going to give abbie cows milk in a bottle i will just give it to her in a sippy cup.
Girl YEAH on the exams i bet you can't wait. And i agree it will take not time for her to grow her hair back.

lmk: yeah i wasnt goign to give jayda it in the bottle either but i thought i woudl slowly introduce it so she woudlnt knwo the taste dif cause i tried her witht he sippy cup and she coudlnt stand the taste of just cows milk. good luck with the teeth. jayda has another bottom one ready to come but it is just enough under the skin to be annoying

Sass- i switched DD to toddler milk and OMG th elast 3 days she has been on it have been hell... She is sooky, crying, throwing tanties, not sleeping... Off to buy the other formula again... No more switching here... :(

gee, I never changed milk and I still get all the sooking, tanties and NO SLEEP anyone could ever wish upon their worst enemy! What did I do wrong?

Well, we've had some whopping tantrums here lately. Yesterday morning we had our first incident of headbutting the floor with intent (not just falling down!) and I tell you, it's horrible! For a week or two now DS has been smacking himself in the head with his hand whenever he was frustrated or I said "No!", but there's very little I can do to prevent that. It's easing off a bit now, but then when I removed him from the heater for the 14th time in a row, he just looked at me, put his hands on the floor and *bang!* smacked his forehead on the floorboards... spin out. Apparently I used to do that when I was a baby. Doesn't make it any easier to deal with tho!
Of course, we were out all day yesterday and he was a complete angel. Flirting with ladies on the bus, playing nicely at playgroup, sleeping in the pram without a fuss, and even playing nicely with my friend's 2-year-old twins. But as soon as we got to the front door of our house the screaming began again. I know this house has bad feng shui, but this is just ridiculous!!
It was DP's turn to camp out in DS's room last night. DS woke up every hour, sometimes every half hour. At 4.30 he brought him in to me to BF him and try and get him to sleep, but it didn't work. He just wrestled and screamed at me for a full hour, dozed for maybe 15 minutes, then was up again and climbing off the bed. blah... He's had half an hour nap today, and has just been fed off to sleep again now, after several shots of Brauer "Calm" and me having to carry him around all morning because he went into convulsive tantrums if I put him down. blah.
The FDC place wasn't as suitable as we had anticipated, and we'll probably give it a miss. Maybe I'm being fussy, but when there's a pile of cigarette butts on the front door step and garbage bags stacked up by the door and in the driveway, it doesn't give a good impression for a place to leave your child. The house was even tinier than ours, and leaving DS in a confined space with other kids is just asking for trouble. And DS was really hesitant about the carer and wouldn't look at her. He's normally so friendly with women, so it wasn't a good sign. Ah well. Have put him down on the centralised waiting list for childcare, but I wont hold my breath. There's four articles about the lack of childcare places in this area in today's newspaper alone!
